About this, Hareem said that people are always complaining about what they see on the big screen and they have ideas of their own about what should be shown in films, so she, along with her friends from Islamabad, decided to write, produce and star in their very own film, and that’s how Siyaah happened. Siyaah was a horror film written by Osman Khalid Butt and produced by Imran Kazmi. At the time, Pakistani cinema was not in the process of ‘revival’ but in spite of the flaws in the film, the team’s efforts were applauded. Hareem Farooq spoke highly of Imran Kazmi who happens to be a great childhood friend of hers, and along with him, she has also produced Janaan and Parchi.

Hareem Farooq revealed that Janaan and Dobara Phir Se are two very different films because while Janaan is a typical masala film, Dobara Phir Se touches upon relationships, friendships and things along those lines.

Hareem Farooq did theatre for five years, and during this time, she got to work with the wonderful Anwar Maqsood. She spoke fondly of Anwar Maqsood because he had so much to share with her and so much to teach her. “It gave clarity to my mind as I realized respecting and giving importance to all those blessings bestowed upon me from the God,” Hareem said.

Recently, Hareem Farooq came in Time Out with Ahsan Khan with Goher Mumtaz where she has talked about her relationship with Ali Rehman Khan.

To the question of Ahsan Khan that why Hareem Farooq didn’t attend show with Ali Rehman Khan, Hareem replied and said, “me and Ali Rehman Khan are very close friends, we have done a lot of back to back projects. It seemed that only we two are together so I took a little break, I have done three big projects with Ali, it is that I choose Ali always because we get along together well”

She further said, “off screen we do a lot of fights but I don’t know why we have such a good chemistry on the screen”

We can’t say that we should not make a certain type of content (that has no viewership), now, that Tere Bin has become a hit, so, everyone is demanding that kind of scripts. Scripts like Tere Bin should be made but we should not think about the same formula, we should make all types of content. If I dissect Mere Paas Tum Ho and Tere Bin, both had something that resonated with the audiences; betrayal was the selling point of Mere Paas Tum Ho and romance and hate to love relationship was the selling point of Tere Bin. Of course, people want to see such content because the emotions hit the audience but I would suggest making all types of dramas, I have also done many scripts for ratings.”

Talking about her upcoming drama Hareem Farooq said that she is doing a negative character for an ARY Digital’s upcoming drama serial.
