Although the previous 2 episodes were not great in terms of story development in general, Abdullah’s confusion and his actions always made sense to me. The portrayal was perfect throughout which definitely helped understand what Abdullah was going through. Shanzay’s situation coupled with the brainwashing done by Sarwar led Abdullah to spend more time with Shanzay because he felt that she needed her. He was never comfortable with the idea of getting married to Shanzay. One aspect of Abdullah’s personality that has stood out more than any other in the past few weeks is that he is a soft-hearted individual. He is always considerate of other people’s feelings because he is a sensitive individual. He is also someone who has never been loved unconditionally by anyone. This is the main reason why he fell in love with Mahjabeen too.
Mahjabeen of course played a major role in helping Abdullah make up his mind. While Shanzay was losing her patience and pushing him, Mahjabeen was being loving and extremely patient. Although Mahjabeen is simple otherwise, when she wants to get something done, she knows how to go about it. The fact that she is in love with Abdullah made it easier for her to fight for him. I absolutely loved the scene covering Abdullah’s ‘break-up’ with Shanzay. This was probably the first time that he did something which took so much courage. Even though he could not look Shanzay in the eyes but he was not afraid of letting her go. Abdullah made a wise decision and Shanzay pride was clearly hurt.
The scene at the restaurant was also well-written and acted-out especially by Bilal Abbas Khan. His expressions when Shanzay was talking about marriage were on point.
Abdullah and Mahjabeen
Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s scenes tonight were so cute that I couldn’t help but wonder how amazing this story could have been if Shanzay was not in the picture. If this fight was between Sarwar, Mahjabeen and Abdullah, it would have been so much more interesting. Mahjabeen is turning out to be the wiser one at the moment and Abdullah also finally came through when he made the right decision. The ‘mehbooba’ scene was one of the best tonight!
Mahjabeen’s father with Abdullah was meaningful but I am glad that the writer did not show that Abdullah felt for Mahjabeen. His feelings were shown exceptionally well given the circumstances. Abdullah was completely dedicated to making Shanzay ‘feel better’ until she proposed him. The idea of leaving Mahjabeen probably helped him understand his feelings better. Both these characters have certain strengths which I hope will ultimately lead to a happy ending. The Shanzay track is extremely forced and with dramas like Thora Sa Haq forcing such situations, a drama like Pyar Ke Sadqay shouldn’t even go down that road.
What Is Wrong With Shanzay?
Seriously!!! There is absolutely no explanation for the not-so-desirable changes in Shanzay’s character. We are not even sure if she is divorced yet she is planning her next wedding. Not only did she propose Abdullah but she also looked forward to meeting him like she was actually in love with him! When, why, and how did this happen – only the writer knows! This is the biggest flaw in the drama right now. Considering that Shanzay will be around, more desperate than ever in the upcoming weeks, the writer really should have helped the viewers understand why is Shanzay doing all this. Yashma Gill’s performance also leaves a lot to be desired!
The Other Characters
Sarwar’s conversation with his mother was actually amusing! While his motives are clear, I am wondering how he intends to keep the lifestyle he is so used to after he manages to somehow get married to Mahjabeen. Mansoora was completely absent from tonight’s episode. It happens so often in our dramas that the writers conveniently sideline a character because it is easier to take the story forward in a certain direction if that character is less active. I still remember the conversation Mansoora had with Pho, if her character was going to be taken forward in such a manner then that conversation shouldn’t have been shown. I am also wondering where Washma is! These two characters, in my opinion, should be in the picture at all times.
Final Remarks
Mahjabeen and Abdullah make Pyar Ke Sadqay worth watching. The characters, their tracks, and the performances never disappoint. Even though Mahjabeen’s ‘zindagi ke mazboon mei pass’ dialogue was not really in line with her character, for the most part, her scenes reflected her true personality. Abdullah’s decision tonight was refreshing but the preview of the next episode promised more of the same! Shanzay is really annoying and because of her Sarwar’s character is gradually losing the impact it had. Overall, however, I really enjoyed watching Abdullah and Mahjabeen’s scenes.

The novel CoronaVirus has taken over the entire world. The contagious disease has spread all over the world and after taking over the majority of the countries, it has struck Pakistan. Unfortunately, Covid-19 is at its peak in the country and with the vaccination being a few months away from being invented and widely available around the globe, the nation is suffering. Covid-19 is being taken lightly and despite the country going under lockdown, the disease continues to spread with new cases getting reported every single day.
Coronavirus is contagious and it is independent of age bracket, this is why children, adults and older people, no one is safe from it. As soon as the lockdown was announced in Pakistan in March, 2020, almost all the celebrities started observing social distancing and went into quarantine mode. However, there were a few celebrities who due to work-related commitments had to compromise and could not be in the lockdown for longer periods of time. This is how they ended up contracting the novel coronavirus and all of them are now self-isolating.

Renowned TV host and writer Vasay Chaudhry also took to social media to announce that he tested positive for Covid-19. He felt no symptoms and continued to inform that fortunately, his family did not contract the virus. He went into self-isolation and acted responsibly by letting everyone that he came in contact with know about his results so that they could also get themselves checked. A few days later, he reported that he has fully recovered and his results came back negative.
Shahbaz Sharif
Leader of PML-N Shahbaz Sharif is also one of renowned politicians who tested positive for Covid-19. Not a lot of details were shared but his twitter handle is self-explanatory that he is observing self-isolation and encouraging everyone to stay safe after contracting the virus himself.
Bilal Maqsood
Famous singer and composer Bilal Maqsood of Strings also shared the news of him being Covid Positive. While having a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram, he replied to one of his fans that his results were positive whereas the rest of the family was doing perfectly fine.
Faisal Sabzwari
MQM Leader Faisal Sabzwari also informed everyone through twitter that he along with his family had contracted the novel virus and requested everyone for prayers. He reported that his parents and first wife Amber Faisal, along with two daughters tested positive. A few days later his results came out to be positive as well. His second wife and TV anchor Madiha Naqvi and his middle daughter Haya Sabzwari did not contract the virus and were fortunately safe.
Nida Yasir
Nida Yasir took it to her social media to announce that after getting tested for Covid-19, her results came back positive. Nida Yasir has been self-isolating and is interacting with her fans and followers through Instagram. She has said that she contracted the virus from her husband Yasir Nawaz, however she does not have any symptoms. People assumed that because Nida was continuing to do morning shows even during the lockdown and recorded Eid shows beforehand, she must’ve contracted it from someone on the sets but she made it clear that it was not the case. Nida Yasir’s daughter Sila Yasir also tested positive. Fortunately, her sons Fareed and Balaj’s results came out negative so they are also in isolation while the rest of the family recovers from the disease.
Yasir Nawaz
Yasir Nawaz tested out positive and ended up being a carrier for his wife Nida Yasir as well as his daughter Sila Yasir. With Yasir Nawaz currently working on his on-going drama Mera Dil Mera Dushman, it is believed that he was continuing with his work while taking precautions but it still ended up being not enough to prevent the contraction. Alizeh Shah took a little break from the social media and now when she posted, it was mostly about how people take blessings such as health for granted, it was enough to believe that she must’ve had a rough time and is now doing well.

Abrar ul Haq himself took it to the social media to announce that he took the test for the Coronavirus and they came out positive. Recently model Sadaf Kanwal received a lot of flak after she and actor Shahroz Sabzwari announced their nikkah on social media. Sadaf, was termed as a home wrecker, the main cause of separation between Shahroz and his first wife Syra.
Shahroz then came out in his and his now wife, Sadaf’s defense stating the model had nothing to do with his and Syra’s relationship and it was only after 4 5 months of being separated with Syra that he met Sadaf for professional work.

After ignoring the character of Ana for so long, it was definitely a good decision by the writer & the director to dedicate these two episodes to her. She was the one whose life depended on unveiling the truth, therefore she required the coverage & the time she got. What added more to it was the stellar performance given by Sajal Aly for sure. In the preview last week, when I came across the scene of Ana happening to see her mother’s burial, I was actually unsure of how they were going to make it convincing but now everything did make sense. When Ali Baksh did not even bother taking Nilofer away from Ana to shoot her, it made complete sense that due to haste none of them bothered looking around whether Ana or anyone for that matter was looking at them or not. Ana was an eye-witness of everything & now in the similar setting without any heavy dosage of medication, it was very easy for her to recall everything from the past, however the course of which was definitely difficult for her, due to her living through those moments again!
The scene where Ana actually puts her hand in the grave to pick up on the bangle gave me chills. No child in this world deserves to go through this & considering Ana remembered how loving her mother was, it was the worst thing that happened to her as Nilofer’s daughter. I am glad that throughout this entire episode, Sajal Aly’s performance was so strong that it overshadowed rather filtered all the filler characters as well as their weak performances & dialogues. I will however definitely say that Nargis Bua & Farhana yet again proved to be useless characters in this equation. When Ana came back from the train station & asked Nargis Bua a basic question such as who ordered Ali Baksh to shoot Nilofer, Farhana jumped in & tried to make it sound like Ana was being irrational asking about it? The girl has been through so much & the least you can do is at least bring her out of her misery. I honestly feel this was Nargis Bua’s chance of redemption but she wasted it. Yes, may be the drama-makers wanted Ana to hear it all from her father but seeing other characters not do their part to help Ana in some way was definitely uncalled for. I expected Nargis Bua or even Farhana after finding the truth to say something at least because they both got a lot of screen time previously, so it was important for them to say something to establish their value in this entire situation.
The moment Amaan told Meer Farooq that Ana was in Summer House, he knew exactly what was going to happen – it showed him that Ana by now must’ve recollected all the memories & now was the time for him to answer her questions. Meer Farooq Zaman knew this was the time of his undoing & he won’t be able to dodge it. The entire scene with everyone surrounding Nilofer’s grave & Ana coercing her father to tell the truth was brilliant – probably one of the most powerful scenes of this entire drama. I felt relieved when Ana finally found out the truth & Meer Farooq confessed everything. She was right, her entire life has been a lie & the one feeding her those lies was none other than her father that she loved so much. Amaan knew his nightmare was over & now everything relied on Ana!
The Best Episode of Ye Dil Mera
This episode was definitely the best episode of Ye Dil Mera. The preview of the next episode suggested the new beginning as well the closure Amaan & even Ana will get from their past. It seems the drama makers are going to recreate the same love-confession scene similar to the last episode of Yakeen Ka Safar & I can foresee Sajal & Ahad’s fans being in for a treat – I am looking forward to that particular scene too because I totally believe they both deserve love & happiness. I do hope they don’t just give hints about what actually happened with Meer Farooq Zaman & in fact show him paying the definitive price for all the crimes that he has committed – same goes for Ali Baksh too.
It wouldn’t be an episode of Ye Dil Mera without some of the glitches & poorly conceived scenarios – first one being Meer Farooq asking Ali Baksh ‘kisi ko shaq to nahi hua’, while the boy shot Nilofer at the train station with minimum of 20 people around who witnessed it. Having lived for 6 years in Murree myself, I know how fast the news travels in such small towns, lol. Also, Amaan always drove around Darya Bagh in his 4WD, but now when he was about to go see Ana, he had a sedan? Not sure when his car changed.
Anyhow, Sajal Aly definitely deserves an award for this performance. At one point she made me say that because of this performance & display of acting skills, Sajal ne is drama ke sab directional gunnah maaf karwa diye. Well done Sajal Aly & also Adnan Siddique for portraying the helplessness of a father who loved his daughter with all his heart but knew his time was over & the facade he carried all these years had fallen off. The sass of Amaanullah even when he was hit by Meer Farooq Zaman is worth appreciation, Ahad Raza Mir has stayed true to the essence of this character throughout the drama. Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz along which their daughter were tested positive for Covid-19. They took all the precautionary measures abruptly and got isolated in their own house. Few days ago rumors started revolving they are not feeling well, their health is deteriorating and they are shifted to hospital. In the beginning of the episode, all the things Matiullah expected Ashi to do were shown to be such that any wife would expect from her husband like telling her to change into nice clothes or do makeup for him, but men like Matiullah make these sweet gestures filthy only because of their narcissistic approach towards their marital relationships & the urge to control their wives in the ugliest manner. They have already established the fact that Ashi & Matiullah’s relationship was bitter & unhealthy, therefore it was natural for her to not feel like needing to do anything that pleased him because she already knew it was not going to change anything – her husband was still going to mistreat & disrespect her.

Therefore when Dilshad decided to do the heavy lifting, it made me feel for her a lot because it showed that despite being weak and vulnerable, she was at least trying & not giving up. All of this was enough for Kashf to assess that she too had to do something, if not for her father then at least for her mother, phupho as well as her sisters.
The Business Deal
The rest of the episode covered how Kashf agreed to be at Matiullah’s asthana because she had her version & perspective of how she was going to deal with the people who would come looking for the solutions to their problems. However, things turned out to be quite different because she was told that this is not how the things work. Throughout this episode, I couldn’t help but appreciate how honestly the writer has exposed how such asthanas are nothing but a business venture for those involved. It is a lucrative business & this is the reason, people go to any lengths to make the most of the vulnerabilities of the helpless. This drama has also exposed the fraction of the society who put their trust in people more than The One who has created them. It is a two-way thing & because there’s a demand for such solutions, people end up coming with their ways of supply!
Imtiyaz has already envisioning his dreams being materialized. He thinks he has hit the jackpot but eventually he will also learn that things are not going to be as smooth as Matiullah promised initially. Wajdan decided to meet Kashf at the asthana, I actually felt this will become a routine which will eventually be some kind of support for Kashf but after Matiullah inquired about Wajdan, it was obvious that he is going to prevent him from coming. Wajdan & Kashf’s only interaction in this episode was definitely my favorite. It showed how eager he was & also how clear Kashf was in her decisions too.
The dream that Kashf saw probably was enough to figure out that Wajdan was going to be around her, he might not be with her but they will still be connected. Unfortunately, at this stage, it is obvious that the dream that Kashf saw about Zoya & Wajdan will come true, this is why she has backtracked but there’s definitely more to this aspect of their lives. At this point, it is however nice to see Wajdan’s mother Rashida doing everything to make things right & get him married to Kashf. At least, she has realized her mistake & also acknowledges as well as accepts the love Wajdan has for Kashf.
The dialogues in particular in this episode were some of the best that I have heard in a while. The conversation that Wajdan & Zoya had with him indirectly seeing her as a Shaitaan & then in general speaking about how Satan keeps on whispering but it is upto the believer to not give up hope was brilliantly penned down by the writer. Another one of my favorite conversations was how Matiullah explained the rules of business to Kashf, which were enough to shake her. Last but definitely not the least, the conversation Kashf had with Allah when she prayed, acknowledging that all the powers belonged to Allah & it was only Him who could take care of the affairs of all those people who were putting their faith & trust in her. The way Kashf defined how weak & helpless she was was definitely my favorite moment of this episode.
Flawless Execution
Overall, this episode of Kashf was very convincing & strong. Although the drama has been directed phenomenally but I couldn’t help but notice the minute details which added so much more depth & dimension into every scene, such as Wajdan walking out of the kitchen with his back towards Zoya, in order to show that he was not too impressed with how she was trying to woo him. Another one was how Imtiyaz walked in his room hiding the packet of snacks that he grabbed on his way back from Asthana after he got some money from Matiullah in the morning. The scene of Ashi where she looked at Dilshad’s hands was very sweet & heartbreaking too. It is so refreshing to see all these women supporting one another. Dilshad will also eventually cave in after she will taste some financial ease but then it is Kashf who is ready to do what it takes to comfort her mother.
I hope the writer has written something good for Kashf in the end because a daughter like her deserves more than she could ever imagine. Direction of Kashf is spot on, this kind of script actually needed a specific sort of treatment & Danish Nawaz has taken it to another level with his vision. The actors are playing their part well & each one of them fits well into the roles assigned to them. My favorite performance definitely is of Waseem Abbas & then comes Hira Mani, who has been phenomenal as Kashf. This character seems to have been written with Hira Mani in mind & she has done complete justice to Kashf. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.
