She further added, Mawla Abbas: His flag only fell when his arms were severed, and his last words were, “O Hussain, my brother, my Imam.” Hazrat Ali Akbar: Imagine a father who sends that son to the battlefield whose face resembles his grandfather, the Holy Prophet (PBUH)—and then that same father has to carry his son’s corpse. Hazrat Ali Asghar: A six-month-old innocent child who neither knew how to wield a sword nor understood the meaning of war. There was only thirst, the answer to which was an arrow. Because Karbala teaches us that a person’s past is not their identity, their final choice is. And Bibi Zainab: If you want to understand Karbala, understand Bibi Zainab. In the morning, she had brothers, nephews, sons, and companions. By evening, everyone was sleeping on the sand. Yet, when she was questioned, she said, “I saw nothing but beauty from Allah.” The story of Karbala teaches us the importance of standing with the truth. As long as the conflict between truth and falsehood remains, as long as the distinction between the oppressed and the oppressor exists, and as long as humanity stays alive, Karbala will not remain just history.
