Everyone is familiar with the on-going feud between singers Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi. After the later accused Ali of sexual harassment, the case is in court. The news is that the things have taken a toll on the career of Meesha’s brother now.
Apparently, Ali Zafar contacted Patari, a music streaming app to lower the number of the track of Faris Shafi on their latest tracks list. Patari has been in immense bad light since the charges of sexual harassment came forward against their ex-CEO Khalid Bajwa. Khalid Bajwa had stepped down and was facing an audit but things were not so smooth as Bajwa was said to be still involved in all matters.
Now, a screenshot has come out which shows how Ali has targeted Faris’s song and Patari also entertained his request. Here it is:

Caterpillar is a well-known brand which recently stepped in the world of apparel too. The launching ceremony had the top Pakistani models showcasing the products and Imran Abbas was also seen endorsing the brand on the occasion. Yaseen Lakhani, who is a very famous photographer covered the event. CAT’s apparel collection looked colorful and casual. The models wore winter collection.

Ohkay so, looks like things are about to wrap up & that gives me joy thinking that this drama is coming to an end soon hopefully. I think it’s high time they should end it because they have almost covered the entire story & if there’s something left, it is Washma & Shaheer’s reconciliation.
So, Shaheer already knew everything that Nishat & Imdad were upto, but being a thorough gentleman & someone who didn’t want to put his sister & brother in law down, he stayed quiet, thinking that may be some day they themselves will realize that they were wrong, but it just didn’t happen. It was actually a relief to know that Shaheer knew that everything Washma was saying was true & she wasn’t fabricating a lie against Imdad. Shaheer finally spoke the truth but still didn’t say as much as he should have because he still respects Nishat enough & may be he still believes that it is Imdad who is wrong but Nishat has never wished ill upon Shaheer. I am sure Shaheer’s trust will shatter once again when he will find out that it was because of Nishaat that his wife Abeera left him!
I liked the fact that Washma took a stand against Shaheer, it was like she had some self-respect & knew that she wasn’t going to die without him, so she stopped her family from intervening in her personal matter, because it would’ve made her look weak & it would’ve turned her into a bechari who couldn’t fight her own battles. Washma knew that Shaheer was wrong, that is why she stayed firm on the decision & didn’t even think about going back as she wasn’t wrong in the first place & she was only trying to help her husband!
Areesha’s intervention came as a pleasant surprise, it looks like she has finally understood that Nishat wasn’t such a well-wisher as she posed to be & she never wanted Shaheer to have a life partner because that way his wife had become entitled to his wealth, that is why Areesha understood Nishat’s wrongdoings & decided to take matters in her hands. I liked how Areesha decided to speak to Shaheer in order to make him realize that sending Washma away was a wrong decision on his part, also Areesha spoke to Washma in order to tell her the truth about what Nishat has done in the past as she was doing it again but this time with Washma.
Looks like Nishat will soon be left alone because Imdad will show her, her right place. Imdad knows that if Nishat can deceive her brother, who trusts her blindly, then she can deceive anyone, that is why Imdad rubbed the reality on her face & chose to ignore her demand of apologizing to Shaheer. Imdad knows that Nishat cares about money, may be more than maintaining a healthy relationship with Shaheer & she still wants to enjoy a chunk of his wealth, which she may not get if Shaheer’d disown Imdad. I am sure it will be Imdad who will tell on Nishat because he knows he has already been exposed so he has nothing to lose, but the one who will get affected by it the most will be his wife Nishat!
Overall, this episode was decent or may be I felt this way because the precap suggested it might end soon if not next week. Let’s see. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Aap Ke Liye!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of App Ke Liye were quite slow & boring to say the least. While watching these episodes, in my heart I was thanking the channel for airing it twice a week otherwise it would’ve tested my patience a great deal. I am actually amazed that 20 episodes have gone by & this drama is nowhere near to an end. I really hope that the editors edit out the unnecessary scenes & shorten it so that it can end soon!
To be honest, I couldn’t keep up with Nishat’s planning & plotting anymore because it has been dragged so much that it has lost its purpose. It is so obvious that she is trying to create a rift between Omar & Areesha but to see her sorting things out & then again complicating them is getting a bit too boring & annoying. I really think that Nishat’s character has been given way more coverage than it actually deserved because there is no substance in her scenes & it is actually getting quite hard to tolerate Samina Peerzada as Nishat!
Imdad has shown his true colors by telling everything he had in his heart to Dilruba. It is so obvious that he is only putting up with a woman like Nishat because he has an ulterior motive too. Nishat actually trusts her husband way more than she should & Imdad is making the most of his wife’s oblivion. I think their track will come to an end at such a note where Nishat’s trust on Imdad will shatter & then she will realize how much it hurts when someone you trust, puts you down, something exactly that she has been doing with Shaheer all her life.
Meeting Omar was a good decision byt Washma but the reason wasn’t made clear as to why she decided to meet him because in stead of inquiring about things, it looked like everything that Omar told her was a news & she wasn’t planning on probing about it in the first place. I think the director himself has lost track of all these complicated intricacies & also the dialogue writer became confused at this point, due to which none of the conversations were making sense in both these episodes!
The only good thing that happened in these episodes was Washma’s decision of taking matters in her hands. Washma knows that at home, she has to take care of Nishat & at office, she has to take care of Imdad Hussain because both these husband & wife are backstabbing Shaheer since ages & he has no idea about it because he trusts them blindly. Washma’s move of bringing Asad in the office was wise but not sure if keeping it from Shaheer was right or not. Washma should have known better that a woman like Nishat can use it against her & it won’t take a second for Shaheer to doubt her too because till date she has not confessed her feelings to him & has not assured him that he means everything to her. I think before working on anything else, Washma should have taken Shaheer in confidence so that when she exposes his sister & brother in law in front of his, he has no reasons to ignore everything. I also believe that Shaheer is wrong in keeping his feelings to himself & not telling Washma clearly what she means to him because after such a long time, he has finally found someone who makes him happy, so there’s no need to beat around the bush because nor Washma is a child, neither Shaheer is a teenager who has fallen in love for the first time. After failing at a love marriage once, Shaheer should know how to deal with his wife especially now when he has developed feelings of love for her!
Washma gave everything away too easily & that is the reason why Imdad raised his guards & became a bit too cautious. Imdad decided to involve Nishat in this entire situation too because he knew that she is far more manipulative & cunning when it comes to turning the tables & this is exactly why the promo suggested that Shaheer will lose control & will tell Washma to leave. I don’t think it is wise of Shaheer to always believe on one side of the picture & doubt his wife all the time. It is understandable that Shaheer is emotional & trusts people easily, but why is it that he finds it hard to trust on Washma, especially now when she has proved that she is not like Abeera, which may have been one of the reasons behind his vulnerability. I find it a bit hard to digest a character like Shaheer who has been a successful businessman & who deals with so many people on daily basis can not understand & trust a transparent, honest & straight forward girl like Washma. It would’ve been so so so good to see Shaheer having a face to face conversation with Washma in person trying to find out the reason why she was doing all of this!
Anyways, these two episodes were boring but I only liked watching Washma’s track & all the happenings related to it. The precap suggested that things will turn against Washma, which means some more dragging in the drama & slow pace. I think the director forgot that bokeh effect is meant to be used in the background & not in the foreground, because of which it looks so annoying otherwise bokeh effect is one of the best effects out there. For the first time I found the relationship of Omar & Areesha so forced & not well-thought out, that is why their conversations seem so half-baked. It looks like Omar & Areesha are being forced into marriage & there is absolutely nothing about their relationship that spells ‘love’ to me. Ohkay so, these two episodes of App Ke Liye were all about planning & plotting that Nishat was transpiring against Areesha & Omar. Even though I know there isn’t much to the story, by the end of every episode, I am still left with the feeling to see something more, like no doubt that the characters have been established properly & their stances are pretty clear by now but I wish there was more to the plot on the whole.
Well Nishat has now started targeting Areesha & Omar because she doesn’t want Areesha to get married to him. Nishat had to accept & agree Areesha’s demand because she wanted to defeat Washma & prove her wrong but now, she is doing everything to call their wedding off, that is why she is fabricating one lie after another. Nishat knows that no matter what she will say to Shaheer he will accept it without a doubt in his mind, that is why very conveniently she lied that Omar’s family was demanding a house as Areesha’s dowry. Shaheer is right in assuming that Omar’s family is being greedy & I do like Shaheer’s simplicity, but I wish he wasn’t so plain headed to not being able to read people properly. I find it a little hard to digest that just because Nishat tells something to Shaheer, he has to believe that she is being honest, so much so that his trust on Nishat has cost him his marriage & he still is unable to figure things out a bit. Yes, he does trust his sister but I wish they had shown him analytical to such an extent where he could have read between the lines himself too.
Washma has started confiding in Maryam & it is good to see that they both have come to terms with each other & are now sharing a very special bond. Washma goes to her sister in law everytime she feels she needs to talk to someone & Maryam not only gives her the right advice, she ends up being all ears to Washma’s problems.
Washma’s intuition tells her that something for sure is wrong in the office & because of that she decides to cancel her business trip to Europe with Shaheer which both of them were looking forward to. Washma could clearly see Shaheer’s disappointment but she does it only to save Shaheer from a bigger loss. Washma has not been able to put a finger on what is it & who is behind everything that is happening in the office but it is good that she is wise enough to take the measures before something on a bigger scale goes wrong. Washma has not only sensed something fishy in the office, but after listening to Shaheer, she realizes that Nsihat is once again trying to drift Omar & Areesha apart, that is why she decides to take this matter in her hands & contacts Omar.
It is actually good to see that Washma has fallen in love with Shaheer, not just because she married him, but because after being by his side, she learned more about him & found out that he is a very sefless person who is being exploited by his family members especially Nishat & Imdaad. I am glad that Washma has started to take control over things because that way she will not only save her marriage but will be able to open Shaheer’s eyes too. Shaheer has also fallen for Washma, but he is too hesitant to admit as Maryam said, he doesn’t believe in sharing his feelings.
Overall, these two episodes were again on the slower side. I hate seeing the coverage Imdaad & Nishat get, their unnecessarily long scenes literally spoil the pace of the drama. Also, I am not sure what was the director thinking while shooting Nishat & Imdaad’s flirtatious lovely dovey scenes, like seriously, please don’t tell me that the director thought the viewers will be thrilled & ecstatic to see a couple in their 60’s being chummy with each other (insert puking sound-effect please). I am actually a little sad because I have a feeling that this drama is far from being over. It looks like they will now introduce some issues in Shaheer & Washma’s relationship too where Shaheer will let his insecurities get the better of him & he will doubt Washma for being unfaithful to him. I think they should increase the air time of this drama from 2 to 7 days a week, it surely will be a better option & the drama won’t end up looking this slow. Till date I was unable to figure out what the director was doing with the camera but now I got it, the camera swings because I feel the director was half asleep while directing this drama, that is why he had no control over his head & the camera due to which it ended up swinging in every single scene, but then it is given as anyone will fall asleep seeing Waseem Abbas & Samina Peerzada’s over-acting & mind boggling 100 expressions/second. Anyways, please share your thoughts about these two episodes of App Ke Liye!

Ohkay so, these last two episodes of App Ke Liye were good in bits & pieces but even though I watched two episodes together, I still found the pace a little too slow may be because the characters are less & the side characters get way more coverage than required. Anyhow, I like how the changes & the development in the character of Washma is shown, that is the only thing that is keeping the interest alive in the show.
Washma got married to Shaheer & started a new life. They both have started exploring each other & they are polar opposites. Shaheer is a very prim & proper person who is very particular about everything in his life, whereas Washma is messy & doesn’t worry much about her surroundings. She lives in a bubble & even though Shaheer doesn’t mind giving her the space, they both will have to reach a consensus to make things work between them as a couple.
At the night of Washma’s wedding, Mariam learns the truth about why Washma decided to get married to Shaheer because she didn’t want to ruin the relationship between her brother & his wife & that is when Mariam realizes that she was wrong in judging Washma so harshly. Washma was a bigger person & she chose to be a bigger person by taking the entire blame on herself but it was good to see the shift in Mariam’s attitude because she understood that it was her brother who was wrong & what Washma did actually saved her marriage. The way Mariam became courteous towards Washma was a refreshing development in the story.
I liked that even though Washma’s personality didn’t change, there were a few things that she was forced to pay heed to. She saw how Shaheer & Areesha were having an argument & she was reminded of the time when Waheed would defend Mariam in front of her. To others, Washma may seem like someone who has no worry in the world & she might come across as someone who doesn’t think things through but the way the attitudes & the reactions of the people around her made some shifts in her personality was commendable. Washma is quite in touch with her emotional side & even though it seems that she doesn’t take things seriously, she actually does pay attention to what is important.
Nishat continues to be unreasonable & now even Areesha’s acting up. The conversation Areesha had with Shaheer seemed out of the blue because if she was so concerned about her brother, she could’ve spoken to him before his wedding day? Areesha chose to lock herself up in her room & didn’t bother asking who Shaheer was going to get married to, which is actually quite unrealistic & hard to believe. Areesha had met Washma before, so she could’ve easily told Shaheer about her disapproval but it is amusing that she got the time ‘after’ Shaheer got married. I find it hard to understand or pay attention to what Nishat says or does because it is actually quite hard for me to believe that a woman who has lived such a fulfilling life will be so petty-brained & so negative that she would spend her entire days & nights scheming & plotting against her own brother & his day-old wife, like seriously? Nishat’s decision of planting a secretary of her own choice in Shaheer’s office was such a pathetic move, like what century does Nishat live in & does she really think that a girl like Dilruba will be able to attract Shaheer?
I don’t get the tears that Areeba was shedding at the news of Shaheer’s wedding. It seems that they both fought a divorce case for an year & before that, their marriage lasted for 3 months so why hasn’t she moved on? Also, if she was so much in love with Shaheer, then why didn’t she fight hard with Nishat to save what was hers? Why didn’t she show perseverance & chose not to budge? Why did her courage lasted for 3 months only? She gave up easily on her love & now she is shedding tears. I find all these side characters; Nishat, Imdaad, Areesha & Abeera forced & sadly, there’s nothing new that they have to offer, so not sure if things will be able to stay interesting since the coverage they get is unnecessary & there aren’t any other characters apart from them to make things engaging.
Overall, these two episodes were average. The only good thing was some development of understanding between Washma & Shaheer. Shaheer is doing things that he never thought he would because he is being considerate. Washma seems to be appreciating everything that Shaheer does without making it too obvious. The best scene for me was when they showed that Shaheer & Washma prayed together, it was actually quite sweet & the highlight of the episode for me. Washma’s character is the best part about this entire drama. Let’s see what more she has in store for us. Please share your thoughts about these two episodes of App Ke Liye!

Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye was a bit average in my opinion. Despite being slow, I feel the drama has one-dimensional story & we haven’t seen much twists & turns & we can’t really expect much in the future too because since day 1 it has been quite evident that this story is going to be about Washma & Shaheer & the two evil sisters Washma will be dealing with, so, I think the lack of side stories & interesting characters is what is preventing it from becoming a very gripping drama.
This episode was all about the wedding preparations. Washma’s family was a bit too involved in everything in comparison to Shaheer’s side of the family. Nishat made an effort to meet Washma but the purpose of that meeting wasn’t well-explained because it sounded like everything was already planned; the venue, the date, Washma’s bridal dress & the Nikkah was just a day after, so not sure why did Nishat go to meet Washma in the first place. I am all for Washma’s boisterous character but the way she spoke to Nishat seemed a little too forced & unrealistic, also, the way Waheed showed up at Shaheer’s office with his tailor for measurements was also another situation that didn’t really sit well with me. I am not sure if the unrealistic situations was what the director was depending upon to spark some comedy because other than that, such things not only made no sense, but seemed quite forced & unnecessary & definitely not comic enough. Yes, we get it, Waheed is thrilled for his sister but he is mature enough to judge what sort of a person Shaheer is, so even though I tried really hard to take it just as a drama, I didn’t see the comedy in those scenes, sorry.
Well, Nishat’s phone call forced Shaheer to do some thinking about choosing Washma as his life partner, not that he was worried about anything else, but he actually was concerned that she was younger to him & they were almost 15 years apart. Just like Shaheer is doing a compromise, even Washma deep inside knows that this marriage is not just a regular marriage, it’s more like a dare that both Shaheer & Washma have accepted.
Finally, it was good to see that Arsalan came clean & told everything to his sister about how he was the one who rejected Washma & she didn’t utter a single word because she made a promise to him. I am glad that Maryam got to know the truth because it was a high time for her to have a reality check. Well, Washma made sure to have her Nikkah her way, where she consciously kept the window of putting an end to this relationship open. Washma might be impulsive, but she is mature enough to foresee that things can go wrong in the future. Both Washma & Shaheer have their reservations & they both are vulnerable when it comes to this relationship. We’ll now have to see if they will be able to form a strong bond with each other or they will fall prey to Nishat’s scheming!
I didn’t enjoy this episode as much as I thought I would. There’s a monotony in the theme of the drama & there aren’t much situations & characters to add the wow factor in this drama & I feel the conversations sound repetitive too. I am not sure for how long viewers will be able to watch this drama for Washma’s character because even Shaheer’s character is pretty one dimensional. Anyways, I feel every single episode of this drama doesn’t give me much to talk about, so for that reason, I will be reviewing App Ke Liye fortnightly, in a hope that may be 2 episodes will give me enough content to have a discussion about. Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye was good in bits & pieces, but I found it on the slower side because a lot of coverage was given to the side characters & their scenes seemed never ending. The only good thing about this drama is the lead pair & the chemistry that the couple shares but other than that, all the tracks & the characters are quite weak & don’t really succeed in grabbing my attention.
Washma was shocked at what Shaheer did, that is why she barged into his office & told him to rectify the situation, as she only asked for a favor from him & never really meant that she was serious about anything. Shaheer decided to convince Washma & all the things he said pretty much made sense that is why Washma not only calmed down but understood what he said & meant. Shaheer knows that Washma doesn’t believe in planning things beforehand & also she was at that stage in life where she had no idea what the future will hold for her, so he tried to make her realize that getting married to Shaheer was the best option because not only her brother was happy but also because she had a point to prove to her ex-fiancé Arsalan too.
Washma immediately understood everything that Shaheer said & just because she happens to be quite impulsive, she went ahead & decided to go ahead with this adventure too. Washma might not have any other reason to get married to Shaheer, but her brother’s happiness & approval was enough for her to accept Shaheer’s proposal because for Washma, Waheed’s happiness means everything & she wants him to live a peaceful life where his wife can’t use Washma as an excuse to pester him.
I loved the way Washma tackled Imdaad Hussain. It was actually quite amusing that Imdaad Hussain became Washma’s father in front of Shaheer whereas in privacy, he never left an opportunity to make advances at her. Imdaad Hussain had never imagined that Shaheer would choose Washma as his life partner & that is why, rather than being shocked himself, he decided to let his wife know that Shaheer’s wife Washma will give Nishat a run for her money. I still find Nishat OTT & felt that her scenes & conversations were not only unnecessary but were stretched & repetitive as well, so there was nothing new that she discussed.
I don’t really understand why Areesha was so mad at Shaheer’s decision of marriage? Shaheer has given her a nod of approval that he would definitely meet Omar, the guy she wants to get married to, so what’s the harm in waiting for a couple of weeks more? Just like Nishat, Areesha’s track is nor too impressive neither interesting & I feel the drama is quite in an early stage to be depending heavily on the fillers already.
Arsalan got way more coverage than required too but I hope this was the last time we saw him. Abeera’s forlorn face didn’t help the situation either. She herself went & challenged Shaheer so by now, she must’ve known him for a considerable amount of time to be aware of the fact that Shaheer won’t sit quietly & will make sure to take up the challenge that Abeera set for him. So, now when Shaheer informed her of what she was eagerly waiting for, then why was she so upset? I hope this was the last time we saw her too because it won’t be fun seeing her meddling in Shaheer & Washma’s marital life. The only character, apart from Shaheer & Washma that I enjoy watching the most is of Washma’s brother Waheed. His reactions are spot on & so is his acting. Waheed is a perfect example of how brothers should be, where they allow their sisters to breathe & take decisions regarding the most important aspects of their life.
Overall, this episode was alright but I feel the side characters are taking a lot of screen-time & unnecessarily at that, which is why it has made the pace a bit slow. I think Asad Siddique & Faryal Mehmood are the weakest in terms of acting & it is quite burdensome to watch them. Arij Fatima & Faysal Qureshi are doing their job really well & like I mentioned in the last week’s review, I will mention it again that it was quite tiresome to watch this episode as well because of the camera movements. I so wish they hadn’t done that because I seriously can’t imagine how will I follow the rest of the drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye!

Ohkay so, things are getting spruced up in App Ke Liye & it is turning out to be a decent watch as the episodes are progressing. I like the pace so far because each & every episode opens up a new chapter in each of their lives.
Washma finally convinced Shaheer to help her, which was a compensation she asked in return for helping Shaheer make up his mind about Omar. Washma only wanted her brother to get over with the idea of her marriage, that is the reason she wanted Shaheer’s help because she knew that despite the likeness her brother has shown for Shaheer, he will reject him after finding about all the personal details of his life. Also, Washma wanted Arsalan to get married to his lady love ASAP because she knew that it will silence Maryam up & she would stop giving Waheed a hard time over what happened between Washma & Arsalan. Washma is quite mature that is why she was trying her luck at so many places with so many people but little did she know that what she was wishing for was actually coming her way but with a little tweaking done by the destiny on it!
Shaheer agreed to help Washma & he would’ve done exactly what she told him to if Abeera hadn’t make an appearance to challenge him once again. I am not sure if Abeera deserves to stay in the picture because she’s a history & Shaheer & she are done & dusted, so not sure what’s the point that she is trying to make by hovering around him every now & then. Anyways, it was only because of Abeera that Shaheer decided to put forth a proposal for Washma because he wants to prove her wrong & he wants to eagerly let her know that he has moved on.

I love how things are slipping away from Nishat Apa’s hands. She is making one plan after another for her brother & sister & they both are doing what she can never imagine. Nishat takes it as her moment of glory when she sees Shaheer asking her permission for each & everything & that is why she couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that Shaheer just ‘informed’ her that he was going to get married as soon as possible. Also, it is good to see how Areesha gives Nishat a hard time, at least she knows that she has Shaheer’s back & that is why she makes it clear to Nishat time & again that she won’t allow her sister to choose a course of Areesha’s life.
Overall, this episode was quite decent. I can’t wait to see the confrontation between Washma & Shaheer & also, I want to know what will compel Washma to accept Shaheer’s proposal & get married to him. Please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye.

Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye was good, but I am definitely more interested in the Washma’s side of the story & drama than Nishat’s side of the story. I know these tracks will get interlinked in the episodes that are yet to come but I still feel I will be rooting to see more of Washma than anyone else in this drama.
Nishat has made up her mind that she is going to get Areesha married to Intezaar Hussain (what a name I must say), but I find her so lifeless & so so so faarigh that she keeps on weaving one plan after another in her mind, without even thinking what others might have to say about it, especially those whose life she is gambling with. Looks like Shaheer is not enough for her that now she is after Areesha but I am glad that Areesha has her brain in mint condition, that is why she can read between the lines & has deciphered Nishat’s mind-games too, that is why she is going to give her a run for her money & won’t allow her to ruin her life. I actually found Nishat & Imdaad’s scenes a bit too over-stretched unnecessarily & also when Nishat told Imdaad about her plan regarding Areesha & Intezaar’s marriage, then the way she told him to stop Intezaar from coming to Karachi didn’t really make much sense & it looked like that scene was just added to fill in some empty time of the episode. Even though the drama is still in its early stages but Nishat & Imdaad are already looking like fillers & that makes it hard to sit through their scenes.
It was quite good to see that Washma finally found out all the details about Omar & going by what she told, Omar looks like an eligible bachelor that Areesha will lead a happy life with. I must say, I love the mind-set of the brothers in this drama because they are wise enough to give benefit of the doubt to their sisters & they also believe in giving them the freedom to choose their life partners. Shaheer is far more open minded & easy going than Nishat Apa because he not only is considering Areesha’s request of meeting Omar but like a concerned brother he is doing his side of the job by getting a background check done on him to be content with his sister’s decision.
I loved Waheed’s reaction after spotting Washma with Shaheer. He definitely was over the moon & he was too impressed with Shaheer’s personality & not only that, he was actually quite impressed that Washma left Arsalan for a guy like Shaheer. The way Waheed showed excitement about Washma’s relationship with Shaheer went to show that even he knew that Arsalan wasn’t good enough for Washma & his sister deserved better. I think Maryam is annoying like anything & I really hope she snaps out of her fixation with her brother’s broken engagement with Washma because she is another filler & quite an annoying one at that.
Shaheer & Washma have definitely become friends in a very short amount of time & Shaheer finds her as someone who he can trust because he has not only told her about his personal life issues but he has also confided in her about his family matters too. Washma is definitely someone who puts up a facade of being a carefree happy-go-lucky sort of a girl but yes, she is just as much in touch with her emotional side as any other person might be, that is why, in seclusion she is seen pondering over the problems that have arose after her decision of calling her engagement off with Arsalan. Washma actually feels bad to see the relationship of her brother & his wife hitting the rock bottom & not only that, she feels guilty because their relation is suffering because of her & that is the reason why she showed up at Arsalan’s door step like a mayhem & caught him off-guard. Washma knows she has to do some damage control & that is why she ended up asking Shaheer for such a huge favor where he should leave such an impression that Waheed rejects him. I am sure as ridiculous as this plan might sound to Shaheer, Washma will talk him into it because she is the sort of a person who will do anything to amend relationships & bring peace in others lives & I can’t wait to see what more she has to offer!
Overall, this episode was pretty decent & I enjoyed watching Washma & Shaheer’s side of the story. Nishat, Imdaad & Maryam are quite typical fillers & I think we need more characters because their character weigh down the drama with their typicality & ‘been there, seen that’ sort of a feel attached to them. Also, I must say, the way the characters shift from right to left & vice versa on my TV screen makes me feel like I am watching a tennis match & the characters look like tennis ball & jokes apart it makes it way too tiring for the eyes to follow them. I really wish the director & the cameraman hadn’t done that because it really is bothersome. Anyways, I must say, I really really liked Saife Hassan’s acting in this episode, especially when he shares his appeasement with his sister & gives her his blessings. I am glad that the writer has added some very non-typical brothers in this story, it is refreshing to see for sure. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye.

Ohkay so, honestly speaking, out of all the episodes of App Ke Liye that have gone on air, I enjoyed watching this one the most only because of Shaheer & Washma & their conversations. Things are being taken forward in regards to Shaheer & Washma’s track, so it makes the upcoming episodes look promising because apart from their characters, the rest of the characters are quite typical.
Maryam went to Arsalan’s place but he told her to go back to her husband’s house. I think in stead of using Washma as a scapegoat, Arsalan should have the decency to at least be honest about everything in front of his sister & own his mistake like a man. Waheed has been financing Arsalan’s education so it is understandable that he feels burdened & doesn’t want to hurt Waheed especially after all that he has done for him, but what Arsalan can do is, tell his sister about the reality so that she stops being so nasty with Washma & stops blaming her for everything. Maryam will obviously have to keep things to herself because after knowing that it was Arsalan who forced Washma to do the heavy-lifting, she will stop being so bitter about it & will accept everything since she will know that this is exactly what her brother wanted too.
Oh dear, the scenes & dialogues of Nishat Apa are just as OTT as her character is. The entire conversation about giving away her child to Shaheer after beating around the brush for million seconds was so not done well. I am sure that it is not the direction, it is the acting of Samina Peerzada that is making it hard for me to tolerate Nishat’s character. It is actually quite ridiculous that she wants Shaheer to adopt her child, whereas Shaheer has been bearing their expenses right from the beginning. He has taken care of his entire family so what’s the point of adopting Nishat’s son? Nishat thinks that her husband’s name won’t make things easier for Ali so can she please elaborate how using Mamu’s name will shape Ali’s future? Nishat obviously has her sights on Shaheer’s property & wealth, so that in any case is being shared by his family members, so can she stop being so petty brained & not use her son for her ulterior motives? Thankfully, Shaheer talked her out of it & didn’t just surrender to this order by his Apa since he does everything that she tells him to do.
Areesha has asked Shaheer to meet Omar so that he can give his blessings to them. Areesha prepared Omar for the meeting & made him familiar with Shaheer & his personality. It is good that at least Shaheer is far more considerate about others choices in comparison to Nishat because she is a control freak & wants everyone to follow what she prescribes for them. Areesha doesn’t know but Nishat is planning her wedding with Imdad’s brother. I want to see how Areesha will take a stand for herself against Nishat’s orders!
I loved the way Washma taught Imdad a lesson & luckily, Shaheer found out the truth that Washma was only explaining things to Arsalan & wasn’t actually spending time with him. It is good to see that Shaheer doesn’t just believe in listening to the one side of the story & gives fair chance to everyone. I liked the conversation Shaheer & Washma had, it’s like Shaheer has found a new friend who he knows will walk an extra mile for him, but before even talking about his personal issues, Shaheer gave the chance to Washma to vent out where she explained what Arsalan put her through & how she accepted everything for the sake of her brother & his wife’s happiness. Washma & Shaheer might be oblivious of it right now but these conversations are giving them an insight into their natures & likes & dislikes, which is a good thing because unconsciously, Shaheer & Washma will start depending on each other for moral support & then they might even fall for each other as well. Well, Washma assigned herself a duty of doing a background check on Omar for Shaheer’s peace of mind & I am sure this is another quality of Washma that Shaheer will admire that she is good at heart & believes in helping people without expecting anything in return.
Well, I am getting tired of Maryam’s character but yes, the only good thing about the bickering scene between Waheed & Maryam was the insight that we got into what Waheed feels for Washma & how he has raised his sister. It is actually quite refreshing to see that Waheed believes in giving Washma a complete freedom of choosing what she likes for herself & not only that, he has empowered her by turning her a confident individual. It is a rarity in our dramas to see such brothers who trust their sisters & respect their judgments – that entire conversation was done really well & I commend the writer for coming up with such a unique bonding of Waheed & Washma that is built solely on trust.
Overall, this episode was good & I really enjoyed watching Shaheer & Washma’s bits. It looks like Shaheer will have no idea when he will start relying on Washma because she has such a positive attitude & energy that he will find himself drawing closer to her unconsciously. Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye was pretty decent because it took the story forward & looks like soon enough Shaheer & Washma will tie the knot & then the real game will begin.
Washma got Shaheer familiar with a unique way of dealing with the emotional pain & it was for the first time that Shaheer got to know that one can overcome a pain this way too. Washma told Shaheer what he might not have heard from someone before, that one should try to be as happy as possible because it will hurt the ego of those who’ve hurt them. Shaheer couldn’t fathom the fact that a girl whose fiancé just dumped her could be so happy & ecstatic. They both shared a good time together & immediately became friends, because they both were having a hard time & indirectly they were being a moral support for one another.
Nishat Apa is way too concerned for Shaheer but it is amazing that even in such crucial times (according to her) her curls were still intact. She plans to do something for her brother which according to her will help him overcome this emotional suffering that he is going through. Her husband is just a tag along & he doesn’t seem too involved in what his wife says or does as he is too busy hitting on Washma in their office.
As expected, Maryam didn’t take the news too well & she kept on blaming Washma for everything, without even thinking for a second that may be her brother Arsalan might also be thinking on those lines too. Washma took the brunt for something that Arsalan wants but it is good that she is strong enough to tolerate a few taunts without letting anyone change her decision. It is interesting to see that just because Maryam doubts & dislikes Washma, she didn’t think of asking Arsalan about what actually happened & why Washma was taking such a step. She left her husband because she feels for her brother more but like Washma said, it was quite immature of both Waheed & Maryam to let Arsalan & Washma’s decision affect their relationship.
It was good to see that Shaheer became comfortable around Washma & not only that he started reading her face & tried to decipher her thoughts too. At least he knows that her engagement has been called off, so that is why he is being courteous towards her & I believe soon enough he will start developing some feelings for her too.
Areesha is getting ticked off by Nishat’s interference in her life & she has warned Shaheer about it too. Areesha might be immature & impulsive but at least she is wise enough to see how controlling Nishat is & how she has Shaheer wrapped around her finger. Areesha’s motive might make her look selfish but at least her judgment when it comes to Nishat is spot on. Let’s see what more she does in order to make Shaheer see Nishat’s real face.
The preview of the next episode suggested that Nishat might tell Shaheer to adopt her son, which means that she definitely doesn’t want Shaheer to have his own kids because then they will become entitled to Shaheer’s wealth. I can’t wait to see what havoc Washma will create when she will enter their lives. The direction of the drama is good but I wish the cameraman had used an anti-glare lens, also I find it quite bothersome that the camera doesn’t stop moving, it actually evokes a headache. I hate to say it again & again but I am actually not impressed with the way Samina Peerzada has portrayed this character, her overall look is one thing but her OTT expressions are quite hard to digest too. She really didn’t need to go overboard to prove a point that Nishat is evil, we get that ma’am, we most certainly get it!!! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye.

Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye didn’t offer much but it established the grounds for what is yet to come. May be because the characters & the situations have been there, seen that written all over them, that’s why nothing seems promising at this stage of the drama even though it is quite early to form an opinion about it, but sadly, the typicality is making it look a bit too predictable but I hope the characters give us something to look forward to in the episodes that are yet to come.
Arsalan proved that he is a wuss, that’s why like I predicted in the last review, he ended up asking Washma for help as he knew that that his decision will cause a dent in his sister’s life. He knew that Washma was the only person who could help him in this situation as she was mature enough to understand his predicament, despite being engaged to him. It was actually quite bad to see Washma facing such a situation because she was at a happy place in this relationship. I must say, all the emotions of Washma were conveyed brilliantly, like she went from being ecstatic to shocked to furious to disappointed in no time & then eventually, she bounced back in a jiffy too as she realized that what Arsalan said made sense because he wasn’t in love with her, so there was no point that this marriage would bring happiness to either of them.
Maryam continued to spew venom against Washma because like any typical bhabhi, she deems her brother as the innocent goat & sees Washma as a cunning predator. It didn’t take her a second to accept that Washma was dating someone else, whereas she should’ve been sure that Washma could never two-time her brother as she never went out with him in the first place. Washma might be adventurous & boisterous but so far she has always followed a strict routine when it comes to her daily life, so I am sure she never did something to give her brother & his wife a reason to doubt her!
Shaheer ended up divorcing his wife because his sister told him to. The conversation that followed actually seemed a bit unconvincing because Shaheer happens to be a mature & calculative person, I know he was emotionally week at that moment but like they suggested, this entire course of divorce was being stretched for an year or so, so I don’t think there was anything left in this for Shaheer to be emotionally attached to, which made him so reckless to confess that he was getting married in a week’s time only to get back at his ex-wife because she suggested that she was ready to move on in her life too.
Nishat was over the moon at the news of Shaheer’s divorce because she actually scored a win against Abeera. It is obvious that she was the one who didn’t let Abeera settle in her marital life but I am sure she doesn’t know what future has in store for her. I don’t understand why Nishat is so over-possessive about her brother, so much so that she doesn’t want to share him, even with his spouse? What good does it do to her?
Anyways, the note at which the episode ended actually was what this entire episode set the base for. Shaheer & Washma came across each other at such a time when they both hit the rock bottom & were emotionally shattered. The divorce actually took a toll on Shaheer more than expected & then Washma gave him the details of her life too, in order to let him know that there was always another way to deal with such painful things too. I like Washma’s approach on life, she is care-free yet she is emotionally so strong that she knows she can overcome any such obstacle that comes her way, which is actually refreshing to see.
Overall, this episode was decent but what I liked the most was the focus on Washma’s side of the story. Arij Fatima acted brilliantly especially in the scene where Washma gives Arsalan a piece of her mind after he tells her about Saniya, I am sure it wasn’t an easy thing to do since it was a continuous scene which had to be done in one take, at times even Asad Siddique fell flat there but Arij Fatima carried it brilliantly. I hope that the episodes that are yet to come give us something that will actually make us look forward to the entire journey. Please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye!

Anzela Abbasi is an actress and a model. She is the daughter of two huge stars from the Pakistani entertainment industry. Her mother Javeria Abbasi is still ruling the television screen while her father Shamoon Abbasi has a long list of credentials attached to his name. The actress herself did a few acting projects and mostly sticks to modelling work. She has been a face for many fashion campaigns. She recently got married in a colourful ceremony and her loved ones surrounded her.

Anzela Abbasi is the daughter of two big stars Javeria Abbasi and Shamoon Abbasi. She got married a year ago to Tashfeen Ansari who is a relationship counsellor by profession. The newlyweds came on Nida Yasir’s show and shared the story of their marriage and relationship.
Anzela revealed that she met Tashfeen as they had both gone to Hunza on a trip with a lot of friends. That is when they became friends but they lost regular contact and would only meet on and off. They met properly after two years and that is when they hit it off. Tashfeen knew that he wanted Anzela in his life and finally told her that he liked her. Anzela also liked him and things were smooth after it. Both their parents were excited for them and Javeria Abbasi loved Tashfeen for Anzela.

His genius combined with Moeen Akhtar’s talents and the duo produced works like “Fifty Fifty”, “Loose Talk” and “Studio series” are unrivaled by the whole industry. Anwar Maqsood wrote theatrical plays such as “Sawa 14 August” which was performed in August earlier this year. Anwar Maqsood has a library of his own, his brother Ahmed Maqsood (late) had a collection of 10,000 books.
Zahra Nigah
Zehra Nigah the famou Urdu poetess is Anwar Maqsood’s sister. She like her other siblings started writing at a very young age and earned a place in the era when women rarely came on the front in the then conservative and male dominated Pakistani society. She along with Bajia and Anwar Masqood was also award Pride of Performance. She also wrote Strings’ famous song “Dhani”.
Sughra Kazmi
Generally known as Mrs. Kazmi, Sughra Kazmi is another sister of the Maqsood family and is the pioneer of the “Kazmi” label famous for bridal wear. She started working out of necessity (unlike rest of her siblings) with ragged dolls garbed as brides but later on the demand of customers actually started designing bridal wear. “Bajia, Zubeda and I received these awards but I feel they should have gone to Sara Naqvi and Sughra Kazmi…both of them started their careers from scratch and worked very hard to establish themselves” commented Anwar Maqsood.
Zabaida Tariq
Cooking expert Zubaida Tariq started her career quite late as compared to her siblings who rose to the heights of fame in very early stages of their lives. She is not only famous for her cooking but for her home remedies as well.
Sara Naqvi
Late Sara Naqvi was also Anwar Maqsood’s sister and Bunto Kamzi’s mother. Sara Naqvi was associated with BBC. She was not only a journalist but a scientist as well and assisted the famous scientist Abdus Salam for some time.
Bunto Kazmi
Bunto Kamzi well acclaimed designer is Sara Naqvi’s daughter and Sughra Kamzi’s daughter in law later joined hands with her mother in law and took her bridal label to new peaks of recognition.
Bilal Maqsood
The guitarist and occasional vocalist of “Strings” is son of Anwar Maqsood. Though Anwar Masood usually pens downs the lyrics of their song but Bilal Maqsood also sometimes writes the songs e.g. “Me to dekhon ga”. The music produced by strings. The best thing about Strings’ is that unlike their contemporaries they not only focus on the music but equally on the lyrics as well. Strings has given us melodious hit like Dur, Mera Bichra Yar, Me to Dekhon ga, Zinda, Dhani, Kahani MOhabat ki hai Mukhtasir etc.
Mikael Maqsood
Mikaek Mazqood is Anwar Maqsood’s grandson and Bilal Maqsood’s son. Following the footsteps of his grandfather he is following his innate urges to paint and sketch like rest of his family at a very early age.

Urdu writer Anwar Maqsood, who has given us some super hit theatre productions in recent times (Pawney 14 August, Sawa 14 August, Siachen) is gearing up to write two films this year. He recently revealed that one of the scripts he’s currently working on is for a film that will be made by well known businessman, Asim Jofa.
When Instep contacted Jofa to confirm the news and find out about the film, he responded in the affirmative.
“Yes, I’m making a film and Anwar sahab is writing it.”
However he refrained from revealing any details regarding the film and said that he wants to keep it under wraps at the moment, given the uncertainty of events in the country.
“I don’t want to disclose it right now as I’m not sure how things turn out to be,” Jofa shared. “I can just tell you that Anwar sahab is writing the first film of his life for me and you’ll love it. It’s going to be a masterpiece.”
We’re surely waiting for this once since it’s written by Anwwar Maqsood who is known for witty and flair content.

Recently news of Anwar Maqsood contracting coronavirus has surfaced on the Internet. The Arts Council President Ahmed Shah has also updated his well-wishers about his health and claimed that he has been advised to rest after undergoing multiple tests. He has also said that Anwar Maqsood had requested his devotees to pray for his swift recovery as he is currently undergoing treatment at home. Anwar Maqsood is one of the finest drama writer Pakistan has got. The writer’s wit is un-matchable and so is his comic timing.
In a recent Question & Answer session with Bilal Maqsood, Anwar Maqsood shared a lot of anecdotes from his life. However, one of our favorite answer that Anwar Maqsood gave was why Pakistanis loved Turkish dramas.
“The only reason Pakistanis love Turkish dramas is the fact that they’re Turkey and we’re tharki,” quipped the veteran actor.

Anwar Maqsood also shared that he missed Moin Akhtar more than anything. The writer added that eve today if he writes a program like Loose Talk, that he did with Moin Akhtar, he writes his name and subconciously writer Moin Akhtar’s name in the next line, which he then has to erase.

*Karachi*: Saadhay 14 August concluded 100 performances in Karachi on October 17, ‘22, thanks to the fervent support of the city’s ardent theatre enthusiasts. The play is set to break records in Islamabad starting on November 9 after receiving a great deal of love and acclaim in Karachi.
People of all ages and genders are eagerly awaiting the performance to begin in a packed theatre. When it does, you can tell that people are already enthralled and fully enjoying what is being displayed since the hall is resonating with laughter. Every single performance of “Saadhay 14 August,” a script by the legendary Anwar Maqsood, directed by Dawar Mehmood (KopyKats Productions) was able to accomplish this and much more. The play, which attracted audiences from all walks of life and of all ages on a daily basis, is a theatrical production which has performed 100 performances in a single city.

Anwar Maqsood’s immaculate writing was successfully brought to life by Dawar Mehmood, whose superb direction lifts the play to a whole new level. Mehmood has won acclaim from a wide audience for his exceptional abilities as he strives to promote theatre through his craft. In addition to the 14 August trilogy, the writer-director duo has already created a number of successful theatre productions, including Aangan Terrha, Half Playt, Dharna, and Siachen.
