It was so bold for its time that PTV sent me a notice stating that Muhammad Ahmed was banned and would not be allowed to write scripts for PTV next time. Instead, it aired on NTM for six consecutive days. At that time, we had extremely capable people in the assembly, and they banned the drama. Even Khalid scolded me, saying, ‘I trusted you and made this play for you, and it got me banned.’ However, after it aired on NTM, it completely changed my trajectory because it became highly successful. I wrote the story of a woman who was driven into a notorious business because of societal pressure, also wrote about Halala. At that time, discussing these things was taboo, but we had a nuanced technique to address it. Nadia Khan has great confidence, no one can deny that and that is why when she invites guests at her show and asks them personal questions, they are intimated by the confidence with which she inquires about their personal lives. Muhammad Aamir however proved to be a different guest who connected every question with Nadia Khan’s own life in some way. Talking about her sudden death, Mufti Tariq Masood said, “Recently, a famous Indian actress passed away. People told me she was so famous and had multiple hit songs, but passed away suddenly. I asked, “People must have taken a lesson from her death?” Then I heard her dead body was burnt. I asked if people took any lesson from it. Especially, Hindus might have taken the lesson — but what I heard in the reply was, people have been posting her songs, videos, and are adding up to her sins. We should take lesson from such death, but I have seen us people don’t take lesson; instead, they tribute them. Some of the scenes in Hindu last rites are scary to watch — they themselves burn their loved ones and give them pain. This is why we should be thankful that we are born to Muslim families.”

Mufti Sahab was a guest on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast and shared some unknown facts about his life. He shared that managing multiple wives is one of the most difficult things he has done in his life. He revealed there are a lot of jealousies involved when there is more than one household and the man has to balance everything. He encourages marriages for women otherwise it is not an easy feat.

He said that divorced women or widows do not get any proper proposals in this society so it is obligated upon men to marry them and provide for them. “These dramas have earned in billions but it has ruined our culture. People are taking a lot of interest in dramas and even they are crying after watching it.”

“These all are time-wasting things so people who are taking interest in these dramas will get deprived of Jannat. Dramas and films are playing with your emotions and they are not of any use. These dramas are breaking families.”

He talked about Turkish dramas and said, “Tayyip Erdogan made dramas but at least he has a vision. He showed true Islamic history of Khilafat e Usmania.”
