Writer Khalil-ur-Rehman recently talked to Humayun Saeed to work on a script like Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

The Mere Paas Tum Ho writer believes that the time has come that we should work on such topics.

He believes our nation is stuck in watching typical saas-bahu dramas and we ignore to work on topics like Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

Qamar said, “Of course I am thinking about it. Three days ago, I called Humayun Saeed and we decided to do something like Ertugrul.”

“We have a lot of problems because we have limited resources other than that we have great actors and great directors.”

Famous writer Khalil-ur-Rehman is known for his problematic views about women. In a recent interview, he called himself ‘feminist’ and shared his views about women.

He talked about his famous drama serial ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ and shared, “It (Mere Pass Tum Ho) is a story of several men, not just one. I have come across multiple married couples who go through the same ordeal. I’ve observed when a married woman cheats, she doesn’t feel ashamed at all. The reason behind her not feeling guilty is because she has been backed by another man. When an unmarried woman cheats, she feels guilty.”

He also stated, “But when a married man betrays his wife, he feels guilty. He feels embarrassed.”

Khalil also said that women shouldn’t criticize Mere Pass Tum Ho and shared, “I’m only narrating this story in your [women’s] favor. Like it or not, I don’t call every woman a woman. To me, the only beautiful trait a woman can possess is her loyalty and her haya/modesty. If a woman isn’t loyal then she is not a woman. Register an FIR against me for if you don’t subscribe to my point of view but I won’t budge.”

He also shared, “Get someone to try me under #MeToo, I won’t care about that either. But I won’t be able to call every woman a woman. That simply isn’t true for me.”

He continued and talked about how he is fighting for good women and said, “A man leaves all his honor, his self-esteem with his wife when he goes out to earn a living. And I curse those women who violate that trust. That was the concept behind Mere Pass Tum Ho and so I’m fighting for the ‘good women’. It would be unfair to these [good] women to be classified along with those who aren’t loyal.”

He called himself feminist and shared, “Trust me, you’ll not find a bigger feminist in Pakistan, but I fight for good women only. Loyalty is a woman’s virtue; don’t challenge it.”

“A few weeks ago, a feminist group had a conversation with me regarding equality. I asked them if they’ve ever heard about a gang of men kidnapping a woman? They assured me they have. I asked them then why don’t women do the same? If you wish to strive for equality then kidnap men as well. Rob a bus, gang rape a man, so that I can understand what you [women] mean by equality.”

“Rather than figuring out your own rights, you’re only asking your part from men’s rights. That’s never going to happen! The most one of these feminist groups can do is chant slogans against me, tweet a few thousand tweets but that’s it! Women can’t do anything else.”

Qamar believes if women were to challenge men the whole society will collapse.

“I was once in conversation with Sultana Siddiqui, and she asked me, ‘Khalil, why don’t you write anything against men?’ I asked her what should I write about men? Should I abuse him? I would, but then what? She said, ‘What do you mean? Even men remarry and indulge in extramarital affairs. Why do you choose to be so selective?’ I just had one question in response, ‘But with whom? A woman, right?’”

He believes if a woman says no to man then men will not be tempted to have extramarital affairs. He blames women are the reason behind the extramarital affairs of men.

He kept on saying how women are the reason behind the extramarital statement and justified his thoughts by saying, “You have to understand this philosophy. A wife is worried about what? Another woman. That other woman isn’t a man. So riddle me this: you are destroying a man and you’re the one who’s complaining about it as well.”

“A man cannot say no. He just can’t. A good woman can,” he concluded.

Khalil-ur-Rehman faced severe criticism due to the tragic ending of drama serial Pyaray Afzal.

Pyara Afzal was one hit drama of its time. The drama was a roller-coaster ride; it was limitless in portraying human relationships. It reminded us of the golden years of classic television. Khalil-ur-Rehman took us on a journey high on emotional content and filled with some of the most memorable dialogues in recent times.

People were really disappointed with the ending of the drama. Afzal was killed at the end of the drama and it made the audience angry because the audience is used to watch only beautiful endings.

Recently, scriptwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman appeared in a morning show for the promotion of his movie ‘Kaaf Kangna’ and he shared an incident related to Pyaraz Afzal’s ending.

He shared, “When I killed Hamza Ali Abbasi in Pyaray Afzal many people abused me. Once, I was sitting in an airplane an elderly  woman came and she slapped me from the back and said ‘ why did you kill him?’ I said, “No, he is alive!”

Khalil-ur-Rehman called Saba Hameed dishonest and bashed Urwa for hurting him.

The cast of upcoming film Kaaf Kangna appeared in Morning at home show which is hosted by Nadia Khan. The film features Sami Khan, Eshal Fayyaz, Ayesha Omar and many other stars.

The famous writer Khalil-ur-Rehman also appeared in the interview. He revealed some of the major things. During the interview, he called Saba Hameed and Mehmood Aslam dishonest.

“Mehmood Aslam and Saba Hameed will never be part of my project. I pray that I never have to work with such dishonest people. I have never seen such dishonest people in my life. Unfortunately, Mehmood Aslam took one lac more than what was decided. When  I threw out Saba and I needed him (Mehmood Aslam) and he said I don’t have any dates. He never called me and asked about how I was doing though we were really good friends,” Khalil-ur-Rehman revealed.

Further, he spoke his heart out and shared how he suffered because of Urwa Hocane. The writer suggested that he had offered the role to Urwa just because of Farhan Saeed (who is his close friend) but working with her soon turned into a “scary experience.”

“I have issues with whom I used to call my sister, Urwa Hocane. May Allah forgive her but I have been through a lot because of her. I have tolerated her because of her husband, he is my really good friend and he loves me. I believed Urwa admired me too and I had links with her family too. I had issues with her (during shooting) and I used to tell her not to do this but there came a time and I had to say goodbye to her. She was not even performing good and I have no problem in letting her go,” he shared.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is often part of controversies and without any surprise, he is again part of the controversy. In an interview, he opposed the upcoming Aurat March and called the posters at Aurat March “pathetic“.

A video clip is going viral on social media in which he is saying that he takes part in house chores and work side by side with his wife. “I have washed clothes, I have cleaned floors with my wife and even taught my wife cooking.”

He added, “And even I did all those work which we normally say that men don’t do. This is all because of love.”

Khalil-ur-Rehman’s statement is being criticized because, in an interview with his wife, she said, “He is that child of the house whose every work is done by us. I have kept him with so much care that you can’t imagine.”

Another viral clip from his interview is making rounds on social media in which he is saying that in his project no director or producer is allowed to show girls in sleeves clothes. People are calling him out for his hypocrisy because in many of his projects like; Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Kaaf Kangna etc there are item songs.

Writing is an art and many people are good at it, but sincerity and passion in a piece of writing sets it apart. If you add thought and meaning to it, it turns into intellectual writing. A combination of sincerity, passion, and intellect makes you Khalil-ur-Rahman Qamar, an intellectual writer.

Sadqa-e-Tumharay was my first encounter with his dramas. I was mesmerized by his skillful writing and it being his autobiography added weight to it and took it to another level. He doesn’t write dialogues, it is a poetic conversation between his characters. That’s what makes him the writer that he is. I searched his other work and discovered that he is a poet too, that explained poetry in his dialogues. That led me to his famous ghazal “Teri ankhoon ke darya Ka utarna bhi zaroori tha” and I started to establish links between his work and his personal life that he shared on screen.

I then went on and watched “Pyare Afzal”, “Laal Ishq” and “Zaara yaad kar”. Sincere love, unaccomplished love, and betrayal of love seem to be the underlying theme of his plays. His stories don’t have a WOW factor but his dialogues create that WOW factor. Hard work and love for his craft is evident from the meaningful dialogues that he creates. Storytelling is an art that Pakistani dramas have always excelled in and writers like him raise the bar even higher.

Quality is what you associate with Khalil Sahib’s writing. When you hear Amir Khan, Tom Hanks or Denzel Washington excellence is the instinctive expectancy. They are the trademark of creating and delivering quality. Khalil-ur-Rahman falls in this category where brilliance is standard.

His plays are true labour of love and I am looking forward to enjoying the romantic journey that he would be taking us on, in his new drama that is being aired “Mere pass tum ho”. Promos give away the story that is the strength of a writer who reveals, let it slip with confidence that he will still hook, hold and attract.

The Controversial Pakistani writer, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, is once again under fire for using foul language with a female panelist in a talk show. During the talk show, Khalil-ur-Rehman lost his cool over the debate on four marriages in Islam and misbehaved with a lady panelist Alia Zehra.

During a panel discussion on divorce rate and child marriages, Khalil-ur-Rehman began to use inappropriate language while attacking the fellow panelist. Upon being told by the host, Awais Iqbal, to speak respectfully, he went on an outburst and left the show while shouting. Later, the crew members tried to convince him to come back, but he became more abusive after leaving the studio and went on to term Ailia Zehra a ‘RAW agent’. He also used gendered slurs against both women panelists after going off air.

In his fit of anger, Rehman also told the producer of the show that his action was justified because Ailia Zehra had not greeted him when he entered the studio for the show.

This is not the first time Khalilur Rehman Qamar has behaved inappropriately on TV. In March last year, Rehman had abused activist Marvi Sirmed during a TV discussion on Aurat March and the slogan ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’ (my body, my choice).

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is the talk of the town these days. After getting massive respect and love for his hit drama serial Meray Pass Tum Ho, he is involved in controversies. 

During a live show, he abused and disrespected Marvi Sarmad. He used disgraceful and unethical words on a live tv show and showed his harsh side. Many celebrities raised his voice against him and felt ashamed for working with him. 

Mansoor Ali Khan, a host of To The Point on Express-News, called Khalil-ur-Rehman as a guest on his show. The reason for calling him on the show was to ask why he used abusive language for a woman on a live TV show. 

Mansoor asked him whether he is sorry for what he said, felt guilty, and wanted to apologize for his behavior. Khalil confidently said he is not sorry at all. He doesn’t feel bad for whatever he said to Marvi. ”If someone will misbehave with me, I will behave badly.” These were his words. 

If you are on a television screen, you should act as a role model. But Khalil-ur-Rehman is a short-tempered human being who is not sorry for disrespecting a woman on a live show. He further added that he will say sorry ten times, only if Marvi will apologize for her Shut Up.

The star-studded drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho has finally come to an end. The finale received a lot of backlash from fans for a tragic ending.

Khalil-ur-Rehman always ends his drama on not so happy note. The writer of super-hit drama Mere Paas Tum Ho has been criticized for killing the protagonist Danish played by Humayun Saeed.  The fans were completely devasted when Danish died and many people cried badly.

Khalil-ur-Rehman in an interview talked about why he killed Danish at the end. He revealed, “She(Mehwish) should not die, she must live and regret her whole life that’s the biggest lesson for her.”

Qamar also talked about Danish and said, “He is free after death. He could not go to another woman that’s why he died.”

The star-studded drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho has been the talk of the town. The writer Khalil-ur-Rehman in an interview explained the concept behind the story of Mere Paas Tum Ho.

He talked about how he got to know about feminism a few years ago and he realized it was cancer for the society and he needs to do something to show that men are innocent creatures.

“Around eight years ago I got to know there is something like feminism and I knew its dangerous. There are 35-36 women who are trying to capture women through their ulterior motives,” Qamar said.

He further added, “We have our own religious and social norms and by reading a few books you (feminists) are challenging religious and social norms. Nobody will allow them to do this.”

He criticized the famous slogan Mera Jism Meri Marzi and said, “What is this? If you believe in this then go back to ancient times where women who believed in this were used to capture in bazaar-e-husn. You are ruining our society by abusing men.”

He explained how men respect women. “In every drama, every man is shown beating woman, man is being abused, are they crazy?  Since the day man is born, he cares for a woman. He advocated how men suffer in his whole life, respect his mothers, sisters, wife, and daughter.”

Recently a video clip from Sadaf Kanwal’s Recent interview went viral on social media where she was asked What she thinks about feminisim and Is the woman of our society is oppressed or not. she replied saying, ” I don’t think that a woman is oppressed, I think she is so strong and I feel that I am so strong and you must feel the same as well, Aurat March and feminism will totally be a different debate”.

On the host’s insistence, Sadaf continued with sharing her opinion on Feminism and said, “Our culture is our husband, if I have got married, as a wife I must know where my husband’s belongings are kept, I must iron his clothes which I usually don’t do but that’s what a wife should do. I should polish his shoes, I must know what he wants to eat and when he wants to eat because it’s my duty as a wife and that’s what I have seen growing up”.

She further added that ” This is what I believe and in my opinion Feminism is to take care of my husband and all his needs. I don’t believe in the feminism that the liberals promote.”

Sadaf’s statement was shared on different social media portals and caused severe criticism. Sadaf Kanwal was also trending on social media and tons of memes were made after her statement.

Sadaf’s statement on feminism was also discussed in a show on 24 news. On her statement, social worker Tahira Abdullah also gave her opinion.

She said, “Whatever she is doing she must do that in her house but she doesn’t have a right to impose her thoughts on anyone, who is she to tell us that we should iron our husband’s clothes or polish their shoes. And even in the house, a woman should not be forced to do so.”

In response, Khalil-Ur-Rehman came to speak up in Sadaf Kanwal’s defense and slammed social worker Tahira Abdullah.

He responded saying, “Sadaf Kanwal has not imposed anything on anyone, whatever she is doing at her home for her husband is her personal act. Where is it even happening in the houses, if a lady is doing such things for her husband it is not wrong at all, Sadaf Kanwal has not said anything wrong, people can do whatever they want to do. No one has the right to shout and impose their rules on anyone”.

The heart shaking motor way incident took place a couple of days. The escalating number of sexual harassment cases are infuriating the public.

People are questioning the government about their safety. The question which is been asked is where women are safe? They are not safe on roads, they are not safe in mosques, they are not safe in schools, they are not safe at hospitals, they are not safe in their own homes and not even in their graves. Why after so many years our government is unable to build a system what allows women to live a life free of any fear.

Victim blaming has always been the most favorite thing to do of the public specially in such cases when a girl is been molested people always says that the girl is wearing questionable clothes that forced innocent men to harass her. CCPO Lahore made a statement saying that the woman shouldn’t be travelling alone at night. The question here is what is the role of police in our society? Are they our protectors? Instead of taking the responsibility that they are unable to protect the mothers, sisters and daughters of nation our police is blaming the woman for travelling alone. Now the question arises that whether they blame women for buried alone? People are demanding the public hanging of the rapists.

Khalik-ur-Rehman Qamar also joined a protest in Lahore and said:

“Please pray that this protest won’t only remain a protest, already all Muslim Umaah is protesting right now. Pray to Allah that this effort of yours will remain fruitful and they arrest culprits as soon as possible. And I pray that are ministers and chief minister will understand the meaning of punishment.”

Talking about the statement of CCPO he said:

“At times, there is a lot of pressure and words slips out of your mouth and I still requests him that if this has happened mistakenly, please apologize from public”

Khalil-ur-Rehman has appeared in another interview in which he talked about religious norms and how our religion is in danger due to some people who are funded by the west.

He said, “It is high time now because there is some conspiracy in which my religion is being targetted. I am not a Maulvi but remember every nation has pride in their religion and few people want to insult it.”

The Mere Paas Tum Ho writer respects those women who are homemakers. “Men and women are equally important but only those women I respect who know how to take care of home, society and generations.”

He further said, “You can’t do anything with my religion on the basis of some funding. You have no argument and you are prevailing vulgarity. Any society be it American or European they call out vulgarity. Its high time now that they should understand.”

Qamar also believes when it comes to sacrificing men come first and women come second. While talking about sacrifices, he gave an example of those fathers who drop their daughters to college and pick them up.

“This is an important concept of a society where we keep our women safe,” Qamar added.

The writer also shared his views about marriage and said, “I believe marriage is not a contract and its all about love. In love, we can solve any problem.”

Khalil-ur-Rehman is on fire these days. First, he abused Marvi Sarmad on a live television show, now he is abusing her on social media. He has been interviewed by many journalists in the past few days and everyone wants to know when he will apologize. 

Geo Entertainment and 7th Sky suspended four dramas and one film script contract until he apologizes for his disrespecting behavior. But Khalil-ur-Rehman is a shameless man who is not even sorry for what he said. He clearly said, “I am not ashamed of what I said to Marvi and I won’t apologize.” 

During an interview, Khalil told the interviewer that his wife won’t let him enter the house if he loses the battle. He cursed Marvi on a camera and called her a bad character lady.  His exact words were, “I will commit suicide or murder myself, but will never apologize to her.”

Khalil further responded to Geo’s statement of suspending him. He said that he will cancel all the contracts with the channel and will not work with them in his entire life.

Talking about the details of Gentleman, he said, “It is a new idea that I gave in the form of Gentleman, it doesn’t match with my previous dramas, I was thinking about the idea of Gentleman in detail, I was confused whether the fair dealers or Halal earners are the gentlemen or the ones who earn illegally are the real heroes. I have discussed the discrimination in the drama. Humayun Saeed and Yumna are in the drama serial and the casting is done by me, it is a wonderful casting, Yumna Zaidi is an amazing actor. The drama features a love story”. The drama will soon be aired on Green Entertainment.

He told another incident, he said, “Actually, the drama’s final episode was screened in the cinema, and after the ending we noticed two girls becoming highly emotional, at that time, Hamza suggested us to leave the cinema to avoid angry fans.

He further added, “Well, I killed the character of Hamza Abbasi on his request, he said to me, “please kill me in the drama, I would be alive forever (I would become a star)”, I liked his line”
