Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 8 Review – Perfect!

This had to be the best episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila so far since it didn’t only have quite a few interesting developments to its credit but these developments also indicated that there might be some hope for Sila after all. The recent changes in Zaini and Raheel’s characters have changed the overall feel of the play, it was too dark and depressing before but now these characters have added some positivity to the story. This episode was also well paced, brilliantly written and directed and all the performances were impressive. All the actors have translated their characters impeccably on screen and the attention to detail makes you forget that you are watching a drama. Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has to be one of those very few dramas nowadays which address a serious topic in a way which is appropriate. The script is well thought out and therefore effective. After watching this particular episode, I am more interested in finding out how the story unfolds in the future.

Tonight’s episode opened with Sila trying to untangle a skein of yarn while Bari Aapa kept on “distracting” her by complaining about her mother and sharing details of her mother’s callous behavior which had resulted in her husband distancing himself from her. Bari Aapa is one of those women who are convinced that even if a man does something dreadfully wrong, it has to be a woman’s fault in some way or the other. The way Raheel came to Sila’s rescue showed the roles both these characters were playing in Sila’s life. While Bari Aapa was constantly adding to Sila’s troubles, Raheel had now realized that he was in a position to help Sila and he wasn’t going to let anyone stop him. Not very long ago, Raheel too judged Sila the way everyone else does but when Zaini made him understand Sila’s position in the house and educated him about the role they could play in this situation, he changed completely. Zaini used the influence she exercises on him in a positive manner which has to be the most refreshing development so far. Sakina Samo’s acting has been brilliant throughout, the way she delivers the dialogues and her gestures show how controlling she is. Her character is etched-out brilliantly as well, she has her favorites and no matter what happens she will continue supporting them.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 8 Review - Perfect!

Once again Joi’s attitude towards Sadia in front of Sikandar and his dialogues showed how he has managed to fool him for all these years. Just like Bari Aapa Sikandar too always looks down upon Sadia and has a very high opinion of Joi. He doesn’t think Sadia deserves so much respect and feels that Joi can protect his wife and daughter while he is away. The fact is that Sikandar doesn’t even care about Sadia and Sila therefore shifting the responsibility to Joi’s shoulders is the easy way out. Zaini’s character and the manner in which she took a stand for Sila more than once was the highlight of the episode. Zaini uses her confidence and outspoken nature to help Sila in her own way instead of belittling her the way Bari Aapa does. Zaini’s honesty is the best part of her character.

Raheel’s mother’s conversation with him while he looked out of the window was one of the many conversations tonight showing how no one had any idea about what kind of a person Joi really was. This scene also indicated that Raheel might sooner or later find out what is going on but there are also chances that he might misinterpret the situation the way Sila has been doing. My favorite scene from tonight’s episode was the one in which Sila cleans her table and looks at herself in the mirror, it showed that she liked Raheel and for the first time there was something she was excited about and was looking forward to. So far everything is going exactly the way Joi has planned, he is constantly devising new ways to torture Sadia. The preview of the next episode was enticing, I am looking forward to finding out how Zaini and Raheel will stop this marriage from taking place.

Amna Malik, Yumna Zaidi and Osama Tahir have nailed their respective performances. Nauman Ijaz and Saman Ansari’s phenomenal performances make you forget every other role they have played so far. Dar Jati Hei Sila has a lot going for it and is a must-watch for all those viewers who want to watch a serious drama with a solid storyline, brilliant direction and flawless performances.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 7 Review – Highs & Lows

This was another episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila with some really solid performances to its credit and this time around too Zaini’s character stood out more than any other. The relationship dynamics between all the characters have been well established by now therefore the story needs to pick up pace. Although I would prefer a slow-paced and non-commercial venture like this drama highlighting an important social issue any day of the week to one of those commercial dramas which follow a specific pattern but I also feel that there is a great deal of repetition in every episode. A lot of things which are being shown in detail are also being said over and over again which is why there are times when you feel like some of these conversations do not add much to the story. The drama has a realistic feel to it which is why even with the slow pace it keeps your interest alive. Also, I feel that dramas like this one deserve to be watched so that Pakistani drama makers would have incentive to continue making dramas which serve a bigger purpose.

This episode once again showed how Joi ran the show in Noor Manzil. He managed to turn the entire situation around single-handedly. Sadia and Sila both would have loved the prospect of moving out of Noor Manzil and away from Joi but Joi wasn’t going to let that happen. He did everything in his power to make sure that ultimately Sadia refused to go to Canada. It was wonderful watching Sadia take a stand because she knew that Sila won’t be safe without her. Sila however cannot see that her mother is taking all these decisions to protect her. Sila’s impression of what is going on between Joi and Sadia is totally opposite to what is really happening between them therefore she sees things differently. She blames her mother because she feels that she is having an affair with Joi and perhaps also because in her opinion her mother has not done much to make her feel secure in Noor Manzil. There are times when you feel like Sila is taking out her own frustrations on her mother and for her hating her mother is an act of rebellion, perhaps something which makes her feel liberated. Yumna Zaidi and Saman Ansari’s brilliant performances make their characters easier to relate to and make you forget that you are watching a play! Both these characters are difficult to translate on screen but these brilliant actresses are portraying them faultlessly and effortlessly. Nauman Ijaz is absolutely exceptional as Joi. The exceptionally impressive performances from all these actors are one of the major reasons why I tune into this drama every week.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 7 Review - Highs & Lows

Zaini’s conversation with Raheel summed up the difference between how people perceive something and how it really is. Zaini’s character is turning out to be a breath of fresh air since she is the only person in Noor Manzil who thinks differently. While Joi managed to convince everyone else in the house rather conveniently that Sila had a mental illness, Zaini was the only one who wondered why Sila was frightened of everyone and everything without declaring her a “pagal”! She is also the only person, Sila ever has a normal conversation with therefore she knows Sila better than anyone else. I am so glad that the relationship between Zaini and Sila didn’t take a typical turn. Amna Malik and Yumna Zaidi also share great on screen chemistry which is why their scenes together are realistic and impactful.

The relationship between Joi and Aapa is very interesting and amusing at the same time. While Aapa is always busy judging everyone else, she has no clue what Joi is doing. She keeps on supporting Joi unconditionally and there are times when her scenes make you laugh as well! I absolutely love Sakina Samo in this role and I am waiting to see what role Aapa will play as the story progresses.

Overall, this drama has enough substance to keep me coming back for more but it would have been picture perfect if some of the scenes were chopped down and the pace of the drama was relatively faster.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 6 Review – Complicated Relationships

I truly appreciate the fact that the makers of the drama and the actors involved have put in a lot of hard work into this project but there are plenty of scenes in every episode which are repetitive. I don’t mind watching a drama which is slow paced as long as every episode offers something new and there is no repetition. The different shades of the characters are being revealed gradually therefore I am pretty sure that the writer has a lot of surprises in store for the viewers, the drama however will be much more interesting if it picks up pace. Some of the scenes covering the family politics in this episode were stretched but the scenes covering Sila and Sadia’s track and the one’s showing the change in Zaini’s behavior were to the point and added something new to the story.

This episode opened with Sila packing Hathim’s bag and telling him to go back to the hostel because he deserved better than staying in Noor Manzil. Hathim and Sila’s relationship has to be the best part of this drama because very often in dramas like this one, the victim hardly ever has someone in the family who tries to understand her and supports her. Hathim and Sila love each other and they have their own ways of showing this love for each other. Hathim wants to stay in Noor Manzil because that is the only way in which he can protect Sila and Sila wants him to leave because she wants him to stay away from all the negativity which is a part of everyday life in Noor Manzil especially for this particular family. The actor playing Hathim’s role is doing complete justice to his role and Yumna Zaidi has been handling her role superbly too. These two also share amazing on screen chemistry.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 6 Review - Complicated Relationships

Saman Ansari’s performance in this episode was just as remarkable as it has been throughout. She gives you so many reasons to feel for Sadia and you understand her helplessness completely. Unlike Sila, there is no one in the house who understands or loves Sadia. Even Sila hates her mother because she thinks that her mother has been highly irresponsible and selfish. This episode once again showed that although Sila didn’t have the confidence to share her opinion in front of her father but she told her mother exactly what she thought about her every chance she got. Sila’s conversation with Zaini showed the difference between these girls and it was really good to see Zaini trying to convince Sila to take a stand for herself.

Raheel’s character has taken an unpredictable and interesting turn. It was good to see him taking a stand for Sila. Sikandar was shown judging his wife and daughter once again without questioning his own behavior towards them even once. Joi understands Sikandar’s mindset a little too well, which is why he does whatever he can to manipulate him. The scene in which Sadia “presented” herself to Joi but he refused went to show that this was more about taking control than anything else. Nauman Ijaz has never played such a character before but he is beyond amazing as Joi. His body language, overall outlook and expressions are always faultless.

The most appealing aspect of this drama has to be the seriousness with which different issues have been highlighted and the variety of characters. There are plenty of characters who are now supporting Sila in their own ways which is a good change. The downside of the play is the emphasis on family politics and the overall pace of the show. The preview of the next episode looked really interesting, Zaini’s character is turning out to be my favorite! She is an unapologetic strong girl who knows exactly what she wants and is completely capable of helping someone in need!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 5 Review – Truly Disturbing

This episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila had to be one of the most powerful episodes of this drama so far. It is always great watching a play which has been written and executed with the sole purpose of getting a specific message across as opposed to focusing entirely on shortcuts which would guarantee ratings. The director Kashif Nisar and all the actors involved have done complete justice to Bee Gul’s script which is why every episode of this drama is truly disturbing. Bee Gul is known for showing topics which are tabooed in a bold manner on screen and this drama is no different. I truly appreciate the fact that everything is being executed without unnecessarily sensationalizing different aspects of the story.

Every character in this drama contributes in some way or the other to the story which is essentially about Sila and Sadia but says so much about the double standards in Noor Manzil which I belive represents our society in general – people who are quick to judge women and expect a great deal from them too! The confidence with which Joi harasses and blackmails Sadia and the manner in which everyone covers up for him shows how easy it is for men to get away with something like this especially when they have someone powerful behind them. Sadia and Sila’s helplessness shows how difficult it is for a woman to survive in the society if her husband or father is someone like Sikandar!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 5 Review - Truly Disturbing

Sikandar’s overall attitude towards his wife in particular represents the shocking double standards in our society which are often accepted as “normal”.  Noshi’s character represents all those opportunists who put their interests above everything else. Zaini is a feminist who is bold and vocal but she is not a negative person. Her character won me over completely today because we don’t get to see such characters very often in our dramas. Until the last episode she appeared to be someone who did not care about anyone else except herself but tonight the viewers saw a very different side of her character. Zaini might not like Sila’s personality overall and she makes fun of her every now and then too but tonight she told Raheel off and gave him a reality check because she could not see Sila being put through so much only because she shared with her father what she thought about Raheel. Although Sila told Zaini that quitting college was her own choice but Zaini did not believe her.

Hathim’s character is an interesting addition to the play as well. He is the only person who cares about Sila enough to treat her like a living and breathing human being. Since he knows that he enjoys a special status in Noor Manzil, he used his position to help Sila in his own way. Hathim and Sila’s relationship shows a different side of Sila’s personality as well. He is the only person Sila ever has a real conversation with and the only person who keeps on reminding her that she deserves better. The scene in which Sadia shouted at Hathim clearly indicated that he was not Sikandar’s son. He is the reason why Sadia is being blackmailed and the main reason why Joi knows he can get away with anything at all.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 5 Review - Truly Disturbing

All the characters in this play are brilliantly etched-out and the story finally seems to be taking off now. Gradually, the viewers are finding out more about the characters and a few of them have some interesting surprises in store! This drama has some amazing performances to its credit as well. Nauman Ijaz is beyond brilliant as Joi, I personally know people who are his fans and are not watching this play anymore because this play makes them hate him as Joi! Saman Ansari’s performance in tonight’s episode in particular was absolutely faultless and extremely powerful. Yumna Zaidi is doing complete justice to a really difficult role. All the other actors are also giving realistic and impressive performances.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 4 Review – Highs and Lows!

This was another episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila which showed the family dynamics in Noor Manzil in detail. There was a great deal of focus on Joi’s character just like the previous episodes. All of his scenes showed how cleverly he turned different situations in his favour. He exploited his sister because he knew she loved him and therefore would easily fall for the emotional blackmail. Joi also brainwashed Hathim and Sikandar because he understood the fact that they felt rejected by rest of the family members and were already disturbed. He constantly blackmailed and threatened Sadia because he knows Sikandar won’t think twice before divorcing her if he finds out she cheated on him and she will lose support of the family too. Joi is an evil person who is also really clever; this is a deadly combination which makes this character one of the most creepy and disturbing characters we have seen in recent times. Joi’s character is especially disturbing because he only shows his evil side to those people who he knows he can suppress and dominate. Otherwise, he has the image of a perfect harmless individual who has never even smoked a cigarette in his life!

The opening scene of this episode yet again showed the difference between Sila and Zaini’s character. While Sila had a difficult time having a normal conversation with her own father, Zaini demanded something from him confidently and got exactly what she wanted. Sikandar was shown belittling his wife and daughter every chance he got. His attitude said a great deal about the reason for Sila and Sadia’s weak position in the house. It seemed like Sadia knew that Sikandar had a girlfriend or perhaps another wife abroad because she was really angry when someone sent Sikandar a message on his phone. Zaini’s dialogues on the breakfast table showed how the men in Noor Manzil got special treatment but Sikandar was constantly bullied by his bhabi who exercises much more power than her husband and all the men in the family combined together!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 4 Review - Highs and Lows!

My favorite scene from tonight’s episode was the one in which Sadia tells Sila to marry Raheel because he was her ticket out of this house. Even though Sila knew Raheel did not love her, she tried to have a “normal” conversation with him – something which was a huge deal for her! Zaini’s entry however changed everything and served as a reality check. This was the first time that Sila spoke her mind but was forced into staying quiet yet again. Sila’s relationship with her brother was heart-warming and their conversations meaningful. Every time Sila tries to think for herself she is forced to follow orders therefore she no longer has an opinion about anything at all.

This episode ended on an interesting note and even though the pace of this drama is slow, so far it has been directed brilliantly and some of the actors especially are performing superbly. Nauman Ijaz is beyond amazing as Joi, Yumna Zaidi’s character is extremely challenging since she has hardly any dialogues but her portrayal is powerful, Saman Ansari continues to impress in another different role and Sakina Samo has nailed her character. The biggest weakness of this drama so far is that the viewers still don’t know a lot about Sila’s character and she doesn’t have enough dialogues. Even though it is easy to understand why she has such a weak personality but even then it would have been easier to relate to what she is going through if we knew more about what she has been through in the past. I am sure that these details will be revealed gradually but the curiosity is killing me! Also, some of the scenes and scenarios are repetitive already.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 3 Review – Exceptional Performances

Like every other episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila, this one too had some amazing performances to its credit. I am especially impressed with Nauman Ijaz and Yumna Zaidi’s perfect portrayals of characters which are not easy to translate on screen. Nauman Ijaz never ceases to impress the viewers with his versatility and performances which make you forget even his most impressive recent performances. Every time you watch him play a role on screen you think that he cannot outdo this one but he surprises you even more with his next project! Joi’s character has many shades, he is a completely different person when he is with Sadia and Sila and someone completely trustworthy and decent when he is around Sikandar especially. One thing about his character which stands out more than any other is that on the surface he appears to be a completely harmless man who one wouldn’t expect to be smart enough to blackmail and mentally torture someone. Sila’s character is especially difficult to translate on screen because she doesn’t have a lot of dialogues. Most often Yumna Zaidi has to convey Sila’s feelings through her body language and expressions and she is doing so remarkably. Yumna Zaidi is a powerful performer who puts her heart and soul into all her projects and this one isn’t too different either.

Sikandar’s character played by Saleem Sheikh was introduced in this episode. The way Sadia and Sila reacted to his arrival was strange even though Sadia told her husband that she felt more secure when he was around but Sila and Sadia somehow looked fearful when they learned that he was there. Sikandar’s attitude towards his wife and daughter is the main reason why Joi is so confident. Sikandar did not even acknowledge his daughter and does not even respect his wife therefore they have absolutely no support in the house. Sikandar continuously implied that Sadia had the ideal life and cannot even remotely relate to how life must be for his wife and daughter. The scene in which the entire family was taking a picture and Sadia was standing behind the curtain watching them reminded me of the scene in ORangreza in which Sassi, Khayyam and Sonia Jahan were taking a picture and Mumtaz was looking at them like an outsider.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 3 Review - Exceptional Performances

The way Raheel pressurized Sila to do something to stop this marriage from taking place was terribly sad. Although it is understandable why he feels he can never be happy with Sila, I didn’t expect him to pressurize Sila the way he did. There were few scenes in which it looked like Zaini actually cared for Sila. Although she clearly flirts with Raheel and belittles Sila every chance she gets but there were a few scenes in which she looked genuinely concerned for Sila. Some of the scenes covering the family politics tend to be clichéd but other than that the overall feel of the play is different.

Right from the first episode Joi has been trying his best to ensure that Sila does not get married. In the previous episodes he was trying to prove that Sila was mentally unfit and tonight he kept on telling Sila that Raheel was in love with Zaini. The preview of the next episode showed that Sila will finally succumb to the pressure.

Saman Ansari and Sakina Samo have also been performing exceptionally well. So far, the family dynamics have been shown in such a way that you clearly understand why it is so easy for Joi to exploit Sila and Sadia. Sila’s character represents every girl like her out there who has no one to turn to and absolutely no one who understands her. The pace of the drama is slow but it has enough substance to keep your interest alive. I do hope however that the story picks up pace in upcoming weeks. The overall feel and the way this drama has been directed is superb so far.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 24 Review – Powerful & Hard-hitting

Tonight’s episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila was simply amazing! This drama never fails to impress; It is a well-crafted, brilliantly told tale of both the dark and the good side of relationships. Most importantly it is filled with powerful messages which have been brought to life in a compelling manner by everyone involved. The skillful direction, a script which couldn’t have been more on point and outstanding performances make this drama one of the very few dramas of its kind which remained poignant and effective throughout.

I must say that tonight’s episode was so intense that it would be hard for me to pen my thoughts down. Also, I feel that no praise words can do justice to the depth and precision with which this drama has touched upon so many important issues. Although every episode of this drama has some important and impactful message but this episode was especially significant because Sila finally broke her silence and Bari Apa for the first time saw Joi for who he really was. Just like every other episode of this drama, this one too shed light on the important role a father plays in a family; a father’s duty isn’t only to earn for his family but his primary responsibility is to give them love and protection. Bari Apa’s character shows that with great power come even greater responsibilities! She let Joi make a complete fool out of her and it was really good to see her admitting her mistake. Her dialogues, just like all the other dialogues tonight, were spectacular. They reflected her state of mind perfectly and it could easily pass as the moment we had all been waiting for.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 24 Review - Powerful & Hard-hitting

The underlying message behind Sila breaking her silence and the change that followed is the same as Udaari but the way it has been presented is far more powerful. The fact that this drama has no commercial element makes it a masterpiece. When a victim decides to stand up for herself nothing can stand in her way – what an inspiring message presented faultlessly on screen. Yumna Zaidi’s honest and powerfully moving performance in this episode made her scenes unforgettable. Although Nauman Ijaz has a vast career and he has given many impressive performances but this is most certainly one of his finest performances. His expressions throughout this episode were remarkable. Saman Ansari’s gripping performance in this drama has been one of the many reasons why Sadia’s character was always easy to connect to.

Zaini’s character has always been one of my favorites and tonight too she gave words to my feelings. Everything she said made perfect sense and I hope that there are fathers out there who are watching this show and will learn something from it. Aamna Malick’s convincing performance made this character even more likeable and impactful.

Bee Gul and Kashif Nisar continue to break taboos and push boundaries, we need more people like them in the entertainment industry who know how to entertain and educate simultaneously. A special shout out to MD Productions because every now and then they continue to head plays which offer something different. Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is a must-watch for all those people who like watching thought-provoking dramas which fit the bill. (primetimetallahassee.com) This drama will not disappoint you and it will give you tons to reflect upon. I sincerely believe that dramas like this one give the victims hope and courage and they show people like Sikandar, Joi and Bari Aapa the mirror. They also play an important role in educating the masses.

The preview of the next episode was the only disappointing part of this recent episode because it gave the final twist away! Tonight’s episode however couldn’t have been more powerful and hard-hitting.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 23 Review – Brilliant As Usual!

This was another mind-blowing episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila; poignant, meaningful and significant. The secret is finally out and this time around Sadia decided she needed to speak up. The writer laid down the perfect foundations for everything that happened today. I always felt that Sadia was giving Joi these “favors” to save her daughter because every time she told him off, he mentioned Sila and that’s when she decided to “cooperate” with him therefore when Sadia told Sila just that, it made perfect sense and didn’t come as a surprise at all. For Sila however this news was shocking since she had always thought that her mother was doing all this for her own pleasure, she never looked at things from this angle. Sadia’s character and her circumstances couldn’t have been translated on screen more impressively. I never had trouble understanding her character and I always felt that Sikandar was the one to be blamed for everything. Sikandar always plays the victim card whenever he is faced with such a situation. He takes up his manly role whenever he gets a chance to tell Sadia off or to put her down but he has never been there for his wife and children. Unfortunately, our society is filled with men like him, who know their rights really well but never try to understand their duties! This is a classic case of a husband expecting everything from his wife and giving absolutely nothing in return – not even respect or acceptance!

Joi continued to play his games and even this latest development didn’t affect him in any way. He knows that he has nothing to lose and right now he is also confident that his aapa will go on supporting him therefore he continued to harass Sadia and Sila both. Joi is an evil man, he is so vile that it is truly upsetting to think how such men exploit women in joint families. Aapa blamed everything on Sadia mainly because of the fact that no one is there to plead her case. She has heard only Joi’s side of the story and she trusts him with her eyes closed. This entire scenario goes to show how dangerous it is to trust someone so blindly. It is like giving such a man a license to do whatever he wants. Finally bare bhaiya decided to speak up and everything he said suggested that he was far more open-minded and fair than his wife. Whatever Zaini’s father said to Sikandar was also on point but just like always Sikandar continued to blame Sadia for everything.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 23 Review - Brilliant As Usual!

Tonight, I felt for Hatim more than any other character since he has just found out why his mother rejected and hated him all his life but he has no idea what he should do. Sheikh Mubashir’s solid performance tonight made Hatim’s scenes even more impactful. The scene in which he protects his mother was simply amazing, Saman Ansari and Sheikh Mubashir’s acting and timing and the entire situation was extremely distressing as well as emotional. I don’t have the words to praise Nauman Ijaz’a overall performance in this play and his brilliant performance in this episode. He definitely deserves an award for his performance. Zaini’s character continues to impress, she is a perfect example of an enlightened woman who is strong, positive and caring. Yumna Zaidi and Amna Malick’s performances were the highlight of tonight’s episode. Yumna Zaidi’s expressions in the last scene of this episode said so much about Sila’s state of mind.

This episode was simply amazing, it was the kind of episode which leaves you distressed but at the same time gives you hope that things might eventually change for these women. Sila will finally speak up in the upcoming episode, I can’t wait to find out what she has to say and how it affects everyone. The preview of the next episode also showed that Bari Aapa will finally see Joi for who he is!! Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is one of the most impressive dramas of this season which has been meaningful and faultless right from the first episode. We definitely need more dramas like this one.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 22 Review – Intense!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is the only play right now which I truly look forward to watching all week and it never disappoints. The compelling and realistic performances by all the actors, dialogues and conversations which are effective, meaningful, impactful as well as engaging because they are executed flawlessly by an ace director, who has proved yet again just how amazing he is at what he does are few of the reasons why this drama is a class above the rest. Saman Ansari’s outstanding performance, Nadia’s parting dialogue, the scene covering Sila’s response when Nadia shouts out the truth and Raheel’s dialogues when Joi tried to escape the situation were some of the best moments of this episode.

This episode opened with Zaini getting married and later on what seemed like an end to a tiring day took a turn which changed everything for everyone in Noor Manzil. Although Nadia decided to leave Noor Manzil after realizing that no one was going to believe her but she didn’t go without saying everything that was on her mind. Her dialogues were mind blowing and covered so much!! Nadia’s character has been the most brilliant addition to this play. Even though her character was introduced only a few weeks back yet she has played a major role in changing the course of the story. Kiran Haq’s performance has been powerful throughout, she understands and owns this character. Nadia’s fearless personality has been a delight to watch because her character has been written beautifully and has been translated on screen superbly.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 22 Review - Intense!

Sadia’s reaction when everyone seemed to believe Joi, was covered really well. That scream was a mix of pain and helplessness and it couldn’t have been more on point. It was an apt response to a situation which wasn’t in her control. Saman Ansari translated the pain and agony Sadia had endured quietly for all these years impeccably on screen and this time around when she couldn’t hold it back anymore she let it out in the most powerful manner. Although for all these weeks Sila had been trying to convince herself that she didn’t love Hatim any more but when everything came out in the open, she instinctively rushed to save him. This was one of the most poignant scenes in this episode. Hatim and Sila’s relationship has always been one of the best parts of this drama and now that things have taken a turn for the worse, Hatim will find out the ugly truth. I am waiting to find out how far Sila will be willing to go to save the only person she truly loves in Noor Manzil.

The viewers also found out today why Bari Aapa’s husband lets her run the show – the reason made tons of sense. It also goes to show just how well thought out this script is, there is a good reason for everything no matter how minute it is. Sikandar always wanted Sadia out of his life and this was the perfect time for him to leave her therefore he wasn’t interested in finding out the details but wanted a verdict which suit his needs. Nauman Iajz and Sakina Samo’s performances have been remarkable right from the first episode, they give every single scene their best.

Overall, this episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila was mind-blowing and the next episode is going to be even more powerful. Can’t wait to find out what will happen once everyone finds out Hatim is Joi’s son!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 21 Review – Loved It!

This was another meaningful episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila filled with positivity and depth. The writer has intelligently put forward the most inspiring messages and the dialogues are always the highlight of every episode. The language used is easy, the conversations are concise and every scene says a great deal about the characters and their story. Nadia’s outburst tonight and Bari Apa and Joi’s reactions yet again showed that these two only managed to dominate everyone in the house because their dominance was so readily accepted! Even though Joi did whatever he could to intimidate Nadia but she stood her ground and ultimately got what she wanted. This entire episode focused on one really important aspect – you have to fight for your rights yourself and if you do, you most surely get what you deserve. However, it is easier said than done, something which is clear from Sila and Sadia’s situation in the house. Even if someone like Sikandar had a wife like Nadia, he wouldn’t have treated her, the way he treats Sadia. Kiran Haq is beyond amazing as Nadia, her gestures and dialogue delivery couldn’t have been better. The character has been written brilliantly too. Nadia’s dialogues about Joi’s “hasiyat” were brilliant! She gives Bari Apa and Joi the kind of reality check which no one else can. The director Kashif Nisar also deserves tons of appreciation for giving this script the right treatment.

Nauman Ijaz continues to impress as Joi. Joi’s personality has many different shades but so far the most conspicuous one of them all is that even though he harasses Sila and has been blackmailing Sadia for years but the fact is that he is a coward. Highlighting this side of Joi’s character was crucial to the role and Nauman Ijaz did just that. Everything that Zaini said to Sila tonight was an extension of the same message which was highlighted over and over again in this episode. This is such an important message and could actually benefit a lot of girls out there who think they don’t deserve better and who feel that whatever abuse they are subjected to is their fault. Aamna Malick has been phenomenal as Zaini. Her character is one of the best female characters we have seen in our dramas in recent times and Aamna Malick has done complete justice to it. The best part of this drama is that there are all kinds of characters in the play. This drama is free of stereotypes and all the characters are there for a reason. The positive and negative characters are equally important and the drama wouldn’t have been the same if even one character was missing from it.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 21 Review - Loved It!

Hatim’s scene in this episode again was poignant. His character is so convincing which is why you can’t help feeling for him. Although he was never loved by his own mother and naturally he feels deprived but his approach is so positive and he is so loving. His scenes are heart-wrenching because every scene highlights his weaknesses as well as his strengths. I don’t remember watching a character like this one ever in our dramas, so nuanced and intelligently written.

Raheel and Zaini’s father’s characters show that not all men are narrow-minded and controlling. The fact that these two men did whatever they could to make sure that Zaini gets to do exactly what she wants sends out a great message and gives men like these due credit! Bari Apa’s reaction to Zaini’s future plans was shown accurately too, Sakina Samo’s body language and dialogue delivery has been brilliant! It is interesting how the writer has shown the difference between women who really are strong (Nadia and Zaini) and a woman (Bari Apa) who is only in control because of those people who are so willing to be controlled! Zaini and Nadia know exactly what they deserve and they believe that they are right therefore they always stand their ground, Bari Apa on the other hand is being unfair therefore she doesn’t have a lot to say in her defense when someone confronts her.

Tonight’s episode was brilliant as usual. Everything about this drama has been phenomenal; the subject, the messages, the performances, the direction and the dialogues. The preview of the next episode suggested that Nadia will finally find out about Sadia and Joi’s relationship. Can’t wait to watch what happens next!

How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Do share your thoughts about it and especially about Bari Apa’s reaction when Nadia gave her a piece of her mind!! Wasn’t it hilarious and so gratifying!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 20 Review – Relevant!

This was another brilliant episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila. Nadia’s character is turning out to be one of the most significant characters in this drama for many reasons. Apart from giving a different perspective to everything, she also adds some lighthearted moment to a drama which is essentially dark. Nadia’s “billi se daro gay tu wo sher ban jaye gi.” dialogue aptly narrowed down the reason why Bari Apa controls everyone and everything Noor Manzil. This dialogue wasn’t only true for Bari Apa but also for Joi. The only reason why a man like Joi has been getting away with so much is that he has successfully managed to intimidate Sadia and Sila. Joi and Sadia’s conversation tonight also suggested that Sadia does whatever it takes to please Joi because that is the only way to save Sila. He often asks about Sila whenever she doesn’t do what he says – it seems like that is his way of threatening Sadia. Kiran Haq owns her role completely and never fails to impress. Nauman Ijaz has been beyond exceptional as Joi throughout and Saman Ansari is doing complete justice to a really difficult role. Every scene of this drama carries weight and is executed superbly.

In this episode Raheel was more eager than ever to find out what exactly was going on. He is an intelligent man who can tell that there is more to this especially because of the way Sadia is reacting to this entire situation. Sila’s dialogues in this episode when she told Raheel and Zaini what she went through and how she felt were brilliantly written. Yumna Zaidi’s remarkable performance and the way Zaini and Raheel’s reactions were covered made this scene impactful. Sila is a victim but like many other victims like her she feels that she is responsible for what happened to her because she couldn’t stop her abuser. She also feels this way because she constantly hears what a nice person Joi is and how flawed she is. This scene was extremely touching and it highlighted the plight of a victim perfectly.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 20 Review - Relevant!

Sadia conversation with Sila this time too revolved around convincing her to stay quiet since she really believes herself that it is the only way they will be “safe”. The biggest reason for this is that Hatim is Joi’s son therefore no matter what they tell anyone about Joi, ultimately she is the one who will be ridiculed and punished. The fact that Nadia isn’t expecting also raises a lot of questions about whether Hatim really is Joi’s son but somehow Sadia is convinced that he is. Although Joi has convinced Sadia that she is the only one who will have to bear the brunt if their secret ever comes out but his reaction every time he hears someone coming suggests something different. Joi is a completely different person with Nadia because he knows he cannot dominate her the way he does with Sadia and Sila. I have a feeling that Nadia will play a positive role in this entire situation because so far she has been shown as someone who is honest and fair.

Raheel is gradually getting closer to the truth and I am waiting to find out what he is going to do once he finds out what is happening. Tonight, he also made sure that Nadia knew Joi couldn’t be trusted. While Zaini’s mother is still planning her daughter’s wedding, the preview of the next episode suggested that Zaini might have other plans. Hatim and Sila’s scene together in this episode as well was short but really touching. Hatim’s love for Sila is unconditional and even though Sila is trying her best to change the way she feels about Hatim, the fact is that she loves him as well and nothing can change that.

The preview of the next episode showed Nadia confronting Bari Apa and saying exactly what needed to be said! Joi once again harassed Sila – will she be able to take a stand for herself this time? This drama shows how very often a little courage goes a long way.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 2 Review – Impressive Performances

The second episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila gave the viewers a more detailed insight into the family dynamics in Noor Manzil – a place which holds many secrets, one in which those who have power exploit other family members who are dependent on them. On the surface it looks like all these people living in Noor Manzil form a perfect family unit but that is clearly not the case. This episode showed why Sadia was so helpless and what was the reason behind Sila’s lack of confidence which was the root cause of all the other problems in her life. The fact that I actually wanted to forward Joi’s scenes because they were so disturbing goes to show just how brilliantly Nauman Ijaz has translated this character on screen. Sadia and Sila do not only have to live under the same roof with him but Sikandar also trusts him blindly! Sikandar has a life of his own in Canada and has no time for his wife and daughter which is why they are completely dependent on his relatives. Yumna Zaidi and Saman Ansari once again gave solid performances and Sakina Samo is spot on as the woman who is so busy judging others that she fails to see the wrongdoings of her own brother.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 2 Review - Impressive Performances

Raheel’s conversation with his mother showed why she had to go ahead with this engagement even though her son did not want to get engaged to Sila. Zaini flirts with Raheel and also plays hard to get which is why he finds her even more attractive! Zaini and Sila are poles apart which is probably why Joi chose those women in the house who are weaker and would never have taken a stand for themselves. Zaini also tells Joi off every chance she gets. Even though Joi held Sadia’s hand and harassed her openly but his Aapa and Noshi both failed to see what he was doing because of his “impression” as well as his position in the house. He is the brother of the woman whose husband runs the house therefore even if someone found out what was going on they are more likely to blame Sadia and Sila. This is the main reason why Sadia takes out her frustration and anger on Sila instead of finding a way out. Sila’s breakdown and anger was shown superbly in this episode as well. The scene covering Sila’s reaction after she sees Joi and her mother together was the most powerful scene of this episode. Bee Gul’s plays always have at least one female character which does not conform to the norms and is strong, I am waiting to see if Sila will be one such character as the story progresses. Right now although Sila has been shown as a victim but she has not been shown as a lifeless character. She is quite outspoken and expressive whenever she is around her mother. Sadia and Sila both are completely different people when they are with each other, they are more submissive when they are around everyone else.

The Chaudhry Kashif Nisar scene showed that Joi’s sisters ran the show in the house. She has been shown bossing everyone around including her husband, this is the reason why Joi knows that he can get away with everything. This second episode took the story forward, the focus was on the main characters and their relationship with each other. Tonight’s episode had some exceptional performances to its credit. I am waiting for the story to take off but I am glad that the writer is giving the viewers time to warm up to the characters. Kashif Nisar is a brilliant director who delivers every single time and Bee Gul has given us a few phenomenal plays therefore I have high expectations from this drama. I am all for dramas which highlight issues that are usually brushed under the carpet and truly appreciate producers, writers, directors and actors who invest their time and energies into projects which are not likely to be commercial hits. Also, the team of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila promised that this play will also show a way out to all the Silas out there therefore that will be the biggest reason for tuning into this show from now on.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 19 Review – Meaningful & Deep

Just like every other episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila this one too was deep and meaningful. There are no trivial conversations in this drama at all, every single conversation serves a bigger purpose and has a hidden meaning. The contrast between the old and new generation was also highlighted in this episode apart from the mindset behind giving boys preferential treatment. Although treating boys like superior beings is a normal occurrence in our society but most often this fact is highlighted in dramas through the birth of girls and the problems the mother faces because of it. Dar Si Jati Hei Sila on the other hand points out the mindset behind such thinking with utmost clarity. This drama also raises some serious, intelligent and articulate questions about these norms in our society. While Joi, who isn’t even related to anyone in Noor Manzil, gets to enjoy all the luxuries of life and more importantly gets acceptance but Sadia and Sila are constantly belittled and are treated like they are not good enough because they are women! The most ironic part of this entire situation is that a woman is at the helm of affairs in Noor Manzil yet she cannot see past her mu bola bhai perhaps because she doesn’t have a son or brother to make her feel special or even complete!

This episode opened with Zaini giving Joi a piece of her mind and it was gratifying watching her confront him. Joi’s reaction showed just how weak he actually was and he was just as afraid of being confronted as Sadia. All the questions that Hatim asked today were innocent yet unintentionally he highlighted the shallowness of the entire concept that boys were superior to girls. I love how the writer has penned down the story since most of the situations are ironic in a really meaningful way. The only boy in the house who is treated like royalty never felt loved or wanted because his own mother made him feel unwanted right from the time he was born. Many of the conversations tonight drew attention to the fact that Sadia never even attended to Hatim when he was born. She wanted to terminate her pregnancy but it wasn’t meant to be, after hearing all this tonight Hatim’s character is more understandable than ever. There is a good reason why he is constantly looking for acceptance even though his father and rest of the family think highly of him. Also, it is ironic that Hatim isn’t even Sikandar’s son yet he is the only reason why Sikandar keeps on coming back to Noor Manzil! Hatim and Sila’s scene yet again were the highlight of this episode. The performances, dialogues, situations and direction couldn’t have been better.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 19 Review - Meaningful & Deep

Nadia’s character has been used by the writer to show a different perspective to everything. Although Zaini and Raheel too show a viewpoint that is poles apart from that of everyone else in the family but the difference between them and Nadia is that Nadia is not afraid to speak her mind. Also, since Nadia was not raised in Noor Manzil therefore she observes everything more than others. Sadia and Joi’s relationship was never noticed by anyone other than Sila but now Nadia can see that there is something going on between these two. Similarly, unlike others she has Joi wrapped around her little finger because she does not see him through Bari Aapa’s eyes the way Sadia and Sila do! She sees him for who he is – a lazy good for nothing man! Nadia’s reaction when she found out that she was pregnant was comical but just like every other situation in this drama it also raised some important points.

Zaini and Raheel’s scenes are always the best part of every episode. Zaini’s dialogues tonight about how Sila felt, reflected the thinking of every boy and girl out there who has ever been harassed. These dialogues were written beautifully and Aamna Malick’s performance once again was brilliant.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila continues to impress; the script, the performances and the direction never fails to impress. I am waiting for the time when Sadia will finally take a stand for her daughter or when Sila will learn to be more brave because that is when things will start to change for the better. Will Hatim ever find out the truth? Waiting to find out!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 18 Review – Truly Impressive

Tonight’s episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila was yet again right on point and some of the dialogues today were so impressive that they should be heard over and over again. The way Zaini defined “hud” when Sila tried to calm her down by saying that Joi never crossed his limits was the highlight of tonight’s episode. This drama has the kind of messages which we do not get to see in our dramas. Many recent dramas have highlighted the issue of rape and Udaari also showed how a rape victim can turn from a victim to a survivor who can fight for herself but Dar Si Jati Hei Sila shows that a man also violates a girl when he touches her without her consent. Although, this concept is pretty basic but Sadia’s attitude tonight reflected the manner in which such actions are viewed by majority of people in our society and perhaps in many other parts of the world. Although Sila gets intimidated by Joi for other reasons as well but I loved the fact that the writer made it really clear that a girl sets the boundaries in such relationships, if she does not like someone touching her or even looking at her in a certain way than it is wrong no matter what people around her say. This isn’t the first time that Bee Gul has highlighted something like this and it didn’t come as a surprise too that she did it so well! The dialogues which portrayed different sets of mind in that house and represent different mindsets in our society couldn’t have been better. These conversations were logical and to the point therefore effective. The fact that all the actors in this drama have translated their characters faultlessly on screen definitely helps.

Nadia’s character had added a new dimension to all the tracks and has shown how “flexible” some of the most rigid and stubborn people in Noor Manzil are! Bari Aapa who likes to dictate everything to everyone else in the house is completely helpless when it comes to Nadia simply because she isn’t the kind of person who takes dictation! Nadia’s approach and Joi and Bari Aapa’s attitude towards her in particular shows that how much difference someone who is vocal and confident can make. Nadia of course isn’t like Zaini because so far she doesn’t have a positive streak in her personality but her character is interesting enough and her questions and objections are most often valid! Bari Aapa’s logic for not hiring servants in the previous episode and Nadia’s reply was very amusing just like everything else she has done ever since she step foot in Noor Manzil. Just like Joi she has absolutely no boundaries and she doesn’t think there is anything wrong with flirting with men as long as she calls them “bhai”!! She is completely different from everyone else in Noor Manzil and the only positive aspect of her personality so far is that she is not a hypocrite. Kiran Haq is a brilliant actress who always does complete justice to every role she opts to play. Just like Yumna Zaidi and Nauman Ijaz she has worked with Kashif Nisar before too and all these talented individuals always make the perfect team. All of them have worked on their outlooks as well as their acting which is why this drama overall always has a realistic touch.

The change in Sila’s personality after Raheel said all those wonderful things about her was the most emotional part of tonight’s episode. This development, the changes in Sila after talking to Raheel and the turn she took after her mother told her what she had probably said to her a million times before was extremely poignant. Yumna Zaidi and Saman Ansari continue to be absolutely amazing in their respective roles. Amna Malick and Osama Tahir have brought out the best in their characters, although their characters are likeable as it is but their acting makes them even more pleasant. The fact that Sila isn’t fighting this battle alone and has enlightened people who are willing to go out of their way to help her makes this whole situation more interesting and there is hope that she will eventually get herself, her mother and Hatim out of this situation. The scene in which Sila goes and asks her mother why she never told her just how amazing she was, was absolutely phenomenal. So far most of the people in the house including Sikandar have thought of Joi as a harmless man – someone they can trust and confide in – but will all that change now that Nadia is there to give them a different perspective?

Zaini and Raheel are on the right track now therefore it will probably not take them long to find out what has been going on in Noor Manzil for so many years but like Zaini and Raheel said nothing can really change until and unless Sila decides to take a stand for herself! Really looking forward to how and when that would happen.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is a must watch play for all those people out there who are sick and tired of watching dramas which sugarcoat and commercialize important social issues. It has never failed to impress and has tons to offer. I cannot appreciate all those people who put in their genuine efforts into this project since a drama like this one can never be a commercial hit but our drama makers should continue making such plays so that there is something on television for people who want to watch quality dramas! We need dramas which serve a bigger purpose and this one definitely fits the bill.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 15 Review – Exceptional!

Just like every other episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila, this one too had it all; powerful scenes, spellbinding performances, meaningful characters and Nadia turned out to be an interesting addition to the play. Like every other character in the play, Nadia’s character too was introduced impressively and her relationship with all the primary characters was also well-established from the few scenes tonight. Her character is different from what I was expecting it to be, she is certainly not the submissive bahu which Bari Apa thought she was going to be and that is the reason why her character will make the story even more interesting! The pace of this show and the way everything has been executed has always been superb but I feel that with every passing episode it is getting more impressive.

Tonight’s episode opened with Joi telling yet another lie which finally pushed Sadia to the edge. Bari Apa’s blind faith in Joi continues to make him even more confident which is why he constantly gets physical with Sadia and flirts with whoever he wants to right in front of Bari Apa who is quick to judge everyone else. It is ironic how Bari Apa who claims to be so wise cannot see what Joi is doing! Sadia’s failed attempts to explain herself coupled with the fact that even now after getting married Joi is still fixated with Sadia and Sila turned out to be the reason why Sadia decided to take her own life. Also, the fact that she is constantly belittled by everyone around her proved to be the final nail in the coffin. Hatim’s scenes in this episode were my favorite because they were extremely touching. He is the only person in Noor Manzil who loves Sadia unconditionally, he is also a child who is desperately trying to understand why his own mother hates him so much. The pain which Sadia’s rejection causes every time has been translated on screen impeccably by Sheikh Mubashir . Tonight his expressions and body language was phenomenal when he finds his mother hanging from the ceiling.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 15 Review - Exceptional!

The dinner scene in which Bari Apa tells Sila to sit with Joi was one of the many impactful scenes in this episode. The director Kashif Nisar deserves tons of credit for making sure that every scene leaves the kind of impact which the writer wanted it to leave. After Raheel pointed out that Sila and Joi weren’t really related everyone’s expressions were captured brilliantly by the director. Raheel had said something which was true but no one had the guts to say it in front of Bari Apa. I absolutely loved Raheel’s conversation with his mother as well, I am sure a lot of viewers out there could relate to it. Usama Tahir continues to give a solid performance and Raheel’s character is turning out to be really meaningful.

Sila finally decided to talk in this episode and this time around it seemed like she was more willing to say what was on her mind. Even though she didn’t say a great deal but whatever she said to Joi in the end showed that she was not as scared of him as she was before. Now that she has Raheel’s support, she appears to be a little less timid. Yumna Zaidi has nailed this character right from the get-go, whether Sila has dialogues or not, she always delivers through her body language and expressions. Saman Ansari also portrayed Sadia’s frustrations superbly on screen tonight. She was especially impressive in the scene in which she tells Hatim off. Saman Ansari always gives her best to every project she chooses to be a part of.

Nauman Ijaz deserves an award for his performance since Joi’s character isn’t an easy one to translate on screen but his portrayal throughout has been right on point. His expressions were remarkable in all the scenes tonight and he highlights all the negative qualities in Joi’s character in every way he can. Sakina Samo has also breathed life into Bari Apa’s character. It is almost as if all these actors put in extra amount of effort to make these characters appear as realistic as possible on screen.

The variety of characters in this show, the screenplay and the performances are some of the reasons why Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is one of the most brilliant dramas of this season. I cannot appreciate the hard work the entire team has put in to make this drama so convincing and easy to connect to. Also, it has a really strong message which is being highlighted in every episode without putting the viewers to sleep.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 14 Review – Brilliant As Usual!

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila continues to be different, convincing, interesting and meaningful. Nowadays when most of the writers and production houses rely heavily on stories which attract a certain kind of viewers who also unfortunately determine the TRPs of a drama, it is definitely refreshing watching plays like this one which have been written and executed with no such purpose in mind but the sole purpose of such plays is to give a handful of viewers like us the kind of entertainment which serves a higher purpose. Writing and executing such plays is also tough therefore I cannot appreciate all those people enough who dare to be different in a challenging environment even when they know that such content does not guarantee ratings!

Tonight’s episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila opened with Zaini and her mother’s conversation which yet again showed how differently both of them looked at things. While Zaini’s mother wants her to do whatever it takes to make sure that Raheel gets married to her, Zaini couldn’t care less. Zaini is one of the most powerful female characters this season because of so many reasons. She is strong yet extremely sensitive and she is one of those rare females in Pakistani dramas who does not need a man to save her. She is also not like one of those characters who do not fall in love because they are holier than thou therefore that too definitely makes her one-of-a-kind! This character has been etched-out remarkably and Aamna Malick continues to translate this character faultlessly on screen. Her body language and dialogue delivery is always on point which gives this character the edge it needs. The fact is that this drama has some of the most impressive performances to its credit and the director has done complete justice to the script. There are times when you forget that you are watching a drama because the overall setting and the performances are beyond brilliant.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 14 Review - Brilliant As Usual!

Raheel and Zaini sat down and tried to figure out why Sila was so scared of people around her and why she wasn’t like any other girl her age. The fact that Raheel loved Sila all this time and only backed out because he thought she didn’t feel anything for him, came as a pleasant surprise. This changes everything since now Sila will have his support unconditionally. He never tried to understand Sila before therefore letting her go seemed like the right thing to do. Raheel’s character has changed dramatically in the past few weeks and this change has been portrayed superbly by Usama Tahir. It is always great to see new faces on television especially when they are such good performers. The way Raheel answered all of Joi’s answers showed his new-found confidence. Now that he knows that Sila loves him too, he feels he has the right to protect and defend her. Yumna Zaidi once again didn’t have too many dialogues but even then she makes you feel for her character every step of the way. Saman Ansari’s performance tonight was right on point and Nauman Ijaz is so convincing as Joi that you forget he is the same actor who has played the most charming roles in the recent past.

Hatim’s scenes in every episode are short but they are extremely poignant which is why you can’t help feeling for this boy since he has no idea why his own mother hates him so much. The recent change in Sila’s attitude has made him feel even more lonely and confused. He is convinced that Joi is the only person who loves him. He is a loving boy who did not learn to hate even though the odds were against him and the preview of the next episode suggest that thing will only get more complicated from him.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has multiple tracks and variety of characters and each one of these tracks and characters has its own appeal. The script is well written, the direction couldn’t have been better and the performances are always impressive. This was another powerful and brilliant episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila and the preview of the next episode was extremely enticing.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 13 Review – Quality Entertainment

This was another excellent episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila with meaningful conversations which said a great deal about the double standards which exist in our society and at the same time these conversations once again showed different shades of some of the characters. Who would have thought that Raheel will ultimately ask Sila the question he asked her tonight. Sila and Raheel’s scenes tonight, just like the previous episode, showed that Raheel wasn’t doing all this because he felt sorry for Sila but he really wanted to understand her. The way Raheel tried to convince everyone that Sila was not crazy showed that he believed in her and he was so sure that his faith in Sila could really change her for the better. Zaini was completely absent from tonight’s episode but because of Raheel and Sila’s scenes in particular, I didn’t miss her a lot although I am really looking forward to watching what she has to say about her marriage with Raheel in the next episode.

The character development in this play has also been slow but gradual and therefore convincing. There isn’t a single scene in this drama which has been added unnecessarily. There was a time when Raheel couldn’t stand Sila but now that he got an opportunity to know her better, it is almost as if he finds her fascinating. Yumna Zaidi yet again gave an outstanding performance even though tonight too she didn’t have a single dialogue to deliver. There were so many scenes in which she managed to convey what Sila was going through with precision only through her body language and expressions. Usama Tahir who is playing the role of Raheel has a different style of acting which has grown on me and he is definitely doing really well ever since Raheel started looking at things differently. The fact that his spoken Urdu is so impressive also helps since the script is such that only someone well acquainted with the language would have done justice to it. Raheel is gradually getting more interested in finding out why Sila rejected him especially because he saw his picture in Sila’s diary and knows that she liked him too.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 13 Review - Quality Entertainment

Hatim and Sila’s scenes together yet again were extremely poignant. Sheikh Mubashar is so well-suited for playing this role and he shares amazing on screen chemistry with Yumna Zaidi – it is almost as if they actually are siblings! Hatim has no idea what is going on in Sila’s mind but he knows that he loves his sister and he is one of those few people in the house whose love is unconditional. Everything which was once “normal” for Sila, the moments these two shared which were once special are now just awkward for her because she knows Hatim is Joi’s son. There is so much going on in Sila’s mind yet she has decided to not say a word which makes you feel for her even more.

My favorite scene from tonight’s episode was the one in which Raheel appreciated Sila and wrote praise words on her arm. Sila was instantly reminded of all the times when she was rejected by people who should have loved and supported her. This scene said a great deal about why Sila wasn’t like Zaini or any other girl her age. After being repeatedly belittled by her father, tayee and even her own mother, it was difficult for her to accept this compliment without thinking about everything she had heard about herself in all these years.

The fact that Joi isn’t too happy about getting married and still insisted that he would much rather marry Sila showed what an evil person he was. He wants to continue making Sila and Sadia’s life hell which makes him a nasty sadist. While I abhor Joi’s character, I can’t praise Nauman Ijaz enough for doing complete justice to a very difficult character. Bari Apa’s dialogues were right on point tonight, although she runs the show in this house and wouldn’t let anyone go against her will but when it comes to choosing a wife for her beloved brother, she wants someone who will be dependent on her and will be completely submissive! This has to be so true for so many strong and vocal women out there! Saman Ansari’s realistic performance is always a treat to watch and makes it so easy to connect to her character. Sakina Samo is brilliant as Bari Apa – dictatorial, annoying and all over the place!

The entire team of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila deserves tons of appreciation for making a quality drama which also serves a bigger purpose. This drama has my undivided attention and I can’t wait to see what will happen next! How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 12 – Extremely Emotional!

This drama has some of the most amazing performances to its credit and although all the actors are doing complete justice to their characters but Yumna Zaidi clearly stands out the most and manages to steal the show every single time. Yumna Zaidi deserves an award for her performance in this drama because even when she has to translate Sila’s feelings on screen without uttering a single dialogue she does so exceptionally well.

This episode showed that Sila was still in shock, staying silent was her way of protesting and taking control of a situation she had absolutely no control over. Raheel and Sila’s scenes together were brilliantly directed and acted-out. Raheel has made up his mind and nothing his mother says will change his point of view. He no longer sees Sila as an annoying person who cannot even look out for her own self but he can see that she is someone who needs help and support. Raheel supports Sila not because he feels sorry for her but because he genuinely cares for her which makes his character truly likeable. If it wasn’t for Zaini’s lecture, Raheel wouldn’t have seen things differently. I love the contrast between the old generation and the new one, they look at things in a completely different manner. While Bari Aapa spends all her time and energy belittling Sila and Sadia, Raheel and Zaini invest their efforts into understanding the reasons behind Sila’s strange behaviour in particular and practically help out whenever possible.

Although Sila didn’t say a single word tonight but everything that she was going through was easy to relate to and understand because of the way these scenes had been written and directed. Sila has definitely fallen for Raheel, the way she looks at him says a great deal about how she feels about him. After finding out the truth about Hatim, Sila’s attitude towards him changed completely, something which Hatim sensed instantly. Hatim’s scenes were very touching as well. He was being punished for something which wasn’t his fault at all and he could only wonder why his mother never loved him. Sadia constantly took out his frustrations and anger on him making him a scapegoat because she blames him for all of her problems. The actor playing Hatim’s role has also been performing superbly, he is well-suited for the role and unlike many other newcomers his age, his focus is entirely on his performance. Saman Ansari continues to impress as Sadia and Nauman Ijaz is beyond brilliant as Joi. Everyone’s acting in this drama is completely natural.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 12 - Extremely Emotional!

Bari Aapa has decided that Joi and Sila should not get married and she was shown busy finding the perfect match for her perfect brother! Bari Aapa is the one responsible for the closed and suffocating environment in Noor Manzil. She is the one who brought Joi to this haveli and she is the one he gets all his powers from. Bari Aapa’s husband doesn’t have a bigger role to play in the house, he is too busy running the business and is hardly around which is why he has never noticed what goes on around the house.

This episode ended at an interesting note. Overall, this episode was emotional and effective as usual. I must say that while watching tonight’s episode I was thinking about all those girls who are abused on daily basis within their own homes. I absolutely love this show because it has so much going for it. Making such dramas isn’t easy but team Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has done a commendable job so far. The preview of the next episode yet again suggested that Raheel might be the first one to find out what is going on between Joi and Sadia. Raheel and Zaini’s characters have been etched-out brilliantly and translated on screen beautifully. They have to be the best on-screen characters of this season.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 11 Review – Powerful!

This episode reminded me of Martin Luther King’s famous quote, ” The silence of the good people is more dangerous than the brutality of the bad people.” Tonight, watching Taya Abu feel for Sila and genuinely wanting to help her but failing to do so since he lets his wife have her way showed that the few people in the house who could see that Sila wanted love and attention more than anything else were completely “helpless”. Zaini, Zaini’s father and even Raheel are few such people who can see that Sila isn’t “pagal” and they can also see that Joi isn’t as perfect and harmless as Bari Aapa would want everyone to think he is, yet, all these people cannot fight Sila’s war for her because they can only go to a certain extent and don’t have much of a say in the house. The only person who could have exercised more power is Sila’s Taya but he is no match for his wife. Even with a house full of people who want to help Sila, Sila feels vulnerable and insecure because those people who are constantly belittling and harassing her are much more vocal and powerful.

Just like every other episode of this drama, this one too was truly upsetting. Watching Sila go through all the mental turmoil especially after watching her being so calm and even happy with people like Zaini and Raheel, served as an ugly reminder of how a young girl’s personality shapes up when she is living in a house where she does not feel safe and protected. For the first time Zaini did not speak her mind and was willing to go along with whatever her mother had planned for her. It was almost as if she was tired of fighting since she was constantly facing situations in which she was getting very little support from people around her. Although Zaini’s father supported her throughout but even then perhaps watching everyone accept the prospect of Sila and Joi’s marriage so easily disturbed her. It seemed like she had given up on this family and didn’t want to waste her energy arguing any more. She did try to make Sila realize that she deserved better but this time around she didn’t present her case with the same enthusiasm as she did before.

The scene in which Raheel was teaching Sila was one of my favorite scenes from this episode because it showed a side of Sila which we rarely get to see and it also showed how easy it was for Joi to make Sila uncomfortable and fearful. Raheel believes in Sila and he could also see how Sila reacted when Joi entered the room. It is absolutely refreshing watching so many intelligent characters in this play. Bari Aapa got plenty of screen time in this episode and all her scenes showed how she perceived everything the way it suited her. She had decided not to feel anything for anyone around her except Joi a long time back therefore she cannot see what is going on around her. Zaini’s father yet again questioned Joi but no one else thought on those lines.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 11 Review - Powerful!

The scene covering Sadia’s confession was very well directed and acted-out. Sila finally knows the reason why her mother cannot take a stand for her or for herself and why she has to constantly please a man who she hates. If everyone found out that Hathim was Joi’s son, no one will point fingers at Joi, he will make up a story to save himself and everyone will believe him but Sadia will immediately get divorced and will be abandoned by this family. Sadia is not strong enough to raise these children on her own or face the consequences therefore she continues to trade her self-respect and dignity in return for Joi’s silence.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has a powerful script, the director Kashif Nisar has given this drama the right treatment and all the actors have been performing brilliantly. The portrayals are realistic and impactful which is why there are times when you completely forget that you are watching a drama.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 10 – Effective & Captivating

This was another powerful episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila which yet again got the message across with precision and was brilliantly directed and acted out. For the first time I felt that Sadia was at fault too because she was capable of being much wiser and more strong than she has been all along. Turning to Joi for help by doing him favours at the expense of her self-respect and her daughter’s mental well-being wasn’t the best course of action. Although, it is easy to understand why she felt that she had no choice but tonight especially Sila’s reaction to everything she had witnessed over the years showed that there was a good reason why this poor girl felt so alone and scared.

Even though it was quite clear right from the start that Sila blamed her mother for a lot of things but her angry outburst in this episode revealed a great deal more. Sila’s father had always been away therefore her mother was the only person who could have done whatever she could to make Sila feel loved and protected but Sadia failed to do so for multiple reasons. Although Sadia is a wise woman but she has absolutely no support in the house therefore turning to Joi for help seemed like the only way to avoid more problems in the house. Sadia’s husband is to be blamed for not taking responsibility for his wife and daughter but she also failed to workout a more viable and long term solution to her problems. Joi has also been blackmailing Sadia which is another reason why she feels that “pleasing” him is the only way to ensure that he stays quite. Sadia’s plan however has backfired in the worst way possible. Although she is doing all this to protect her daughter but Sila has clearly been more affected by everything she has seen than anything else. Sila is convinced that her mother is having an affair with Joi therefore she holds her responsible for everything.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 10 - Effective & Captivating

Everything that Sila said in tonight’s episode when she confronted her mother was extremely poignant and made perfect sense. Bari Aapa and Sikandar have always blamed Sadia for everything, Sila has heard them say those things so many times and then she has seen her mother with Joi therefore there is a good reason why she is convinced that her life is miserable because her mother is emotionally and physically involved with another man. Getting married to this man would be Sila’s way of taking revenge from her mother! Sila’s character, just like all the other characters in this play, has been etched-out flawlessly. You completely understand the mental turmoil she is going through and the reasons why she fails to see things differently.

Zaini and Raheel’s confidence even after all those lies Bari Aapa told everyone was the highlight of this episode. These two characters are completely different from Sila and Sadia’s characters, they do not allow anyone to dictate anything to them. They are strong individuals who have been using their strengths to help Sila which is the best part of their characters. Aamna Malick has been faultless as Zaini, her dialogue delivery and body language is always on point. The turn Noshi’s character took was somewhat unexpected and it is easy to tell who Zaini takes after! Zaini’s father has to be the most sensible man in Noor Manzil but her mother is turning out to be a typical woman who desperately wants to get her daughter married to an “eligible bachelor”.

Saman Ansari continues to impress as Sadia, I truly respect her for always choosing projects which highlight important social issues. Whether she is playing a posh wife of a corrupt politician or a mother of 3 daughters who couldn’t give her husband a son, she always does complete justice to her roles. Yumna Zaidi is another actress who is young but is talented beyond her years. She has acted opposite some very versatile and experienced actors but she has always made her presence felt. Nauman Ijaz’s superb performance in this serial cannot be appreciated enough because he has breathed life into a character which isn’t easy to translate on screen. Normally, the roles he plays in dramas are very different from this one therefore those viewers who wish to see him nailing a completely different role should definitely tune into this drama. Sakina Samo has been exceptional as Bari Aapa throughout. I love the dialogues and the screenplay of this drama, we don’t get to hear such beautiful Urdu in our dramas very often. The director Kashif Nisar has yet again brought out the best in all the characters and has translated the entire setting of the play perfectly on screen.

Dar Jati Hei Sila definitely has my undivided attention and keeps me looking forward to more. How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 1 Review – Yumna Zaidi Steals The Show!

Writer: Bee Gul
Director: Kashif Nisar
Producer : Momina Duraid (MD Productions)
Schedule: Every Wednesday at 8pm on HUM

This drama has some big shoes to fill since it is replacing one of the most loved drama serials of recent times. Dar Si Jati Hei Sila’s promos already revealed that it wasn’t going to be a journey like Yakeen Ka Safar since even though Yakeen Ka Safar had some strong messages, it was never a heavy duty drama. After a really long time Bee Gul has written a play which has a classic Bee Gul feel to it – this drama I am certain has not been made to be a commercial hit just like Talkhiyan. The first episode of Dar Si Jati Hei Sila focused primarily on Sila and revealed few details about all those people who are directly related to her.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila is the story of a big family living in Noor Manzil. All the family members have their own distinctive personalities. The opening scene of this first episode was brilliantly written and executed since this short scene revealed a great deal about the relationship these three individuals – Joi (Nauman Ijaz), Sila (Yumna Zaidi) and Sadia (Saman Ansari) – shared with each other. Joi is a classic example of those male relatives who abuse girls from their family yet no one in the family ever doubts them for a second. On the contrary, everyone blamed Sila for acting strange. The way Sila looked at Sadia and the manner in which Sadia questioned Joi when she came in the room clearly showed that she knew everything yet somehow she decided to keep this to herself. Later on different scenes and dialogues also suggested that there was something going on between Joi and Sadia as well. Sadia’s husband is mostly away therefore she has raised Sila like a single parent which is why her sister-in-laws blamed her entirely for Sila’s flawed upbringing. Sila’s father was never there for her or her mother therefore her tayees consider both of them a liability. It seemed like Sakina Samo’s character ran the show in Noor Manzil which is why her brother Joi got away with everything till now.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 1 Review - Yumna Zaidi Steals The Show!

Sila’s cousin Zaini has a completely different personality than her which is probably why just like her mother she feels that she is more entitled to winning Raheel over than Sila! Raheel and Zaini’s interactions came across as more of flirting than anything else. Raheel doesn’t feel attracted towards Sila since she has never put in any effort to stay in touch with him and she gets scared every time he goes near her. Noshi (Zaini’s mother) is also not happy that Sila is the one getting engaged to Raheel therefore she joined in when Joi was telling Tullo (Raheel’s mother) about Sila’s condition.

Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 1 Review - Yumna Zaidi Steals The Show!

The most powerful scenes in this episode were the ones which covered Sila’s interactions with her mother. These scenes piqued my curiosity more than any other. Yumna Zaidi is a phenomenal performer who translates the most difficult characters on screen effortlessly. There were plenty of scenes in tonight’s episode which wouldn’t have been as powerful as they were if Yumna Zaidi did not give such a brilliant performance. The only time Sila spoke her mind was when she was with her mother otherwise she stayed quiet although she did not like the fact that everyone in the house was constantly judging her. Nauman Ijaz is also continuously experimenting with different roles and he always excels every time. He looks and acts completely different depending on the kind of role he is playing. Saman Ansari, Sakina Samo and Munazzah Arif also gave solid performances in this episode. The biggest disappointment however was that many of the scenes in this episode had already been shown repeatedly in promos. I am surprised that part of the opening scene was also shown in the promos, in my opinion the promos shouldn’t have revealed so much about Sila and Joi’s character.

This wasn’t the kind of episode which wins you over completely but it was definitely the sort of episode which gives you a reason to tune into the next episode. I am looking forward to what team Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has in store for us next. I find the cover photo of the drama really interesting since it mentions revenge apart from everything else. The topic of sexual abuse has been done-to-death lately therefore this drama will only hold the interest of the viewers if it offers something different and meaningful.

Dar Khuda Se Episode 6 Story Review – Slow Paced

Opening Thoughts – Slow Paced:

Ohkay so, this episode of Dar Khuda Se was again decent. The major issue with Anjum Shehzad’s directed dramas is the pace. This is the pattern that I have seen in almost all of the dramas directed by him where he takes things forward so slowly that you’re never given much to discuss or talk about. This is Sarwat Nazeer’s script, it is bound to be basic & simple with a lot of focus on human emotions & their circumstances that cloud their judgments, but it was Anjum Shehzad’s approach that would’ve taken it to another level. I still do enjoy watching it & look forward to it every week. but the pace of this drama is very slow & isn’t helping much.

Azhar’s Marriage & It’s Aftermath:

Azhar got married & no surprised there, he started dancing on Shehla’s tunes. Azhar is like that spoiled brat who despite being aware of his family’s financial condition asks for his wants & demands to be met. Azhar planned on a proper Valima function & even though he knew that his father won’t be able to afford it, he wanted him to get the amount he had been saving for Afreen’s wedding. Shehla is doing all of what was expected from her, she is going to be your typical evil bahu & bhabhi plus Azhar is going to be act selfishly & he won’t be able to maintain a balance between his family & his wife, that’s for sure.

Afreen is the only sane one in this entire lot of siblings. She has proved to be a support system for her parents every step of the way. Afreen has no dreams in her life that will drive her to be selfish, she just wants to do everything to make her parent’s happy & she has been doing just that. Afreen’s father can not stop praising her as well as feeling indebted to her for all that she does. Afreen’s father had an accident & Azhar & Shehla were just indifferent. Yes, Azhar did try to be a little empathetic but that’s all that he could offer & nothing more than that.

I am getting tired of Tamkeen’s one-dimensional character & her petty mentality. I am sure this character wouldn’t have looked so lifeless & bizarre if the pace of the drama had been a little better & she was given some better dialogues that didn’t just revolve around Afreen’s makeup & job!

Shahwez’s wife picked up on the fact that he was cheating on her but she chose not to confront him. Even though she gave him enough hints but may be she fears being left alone, that is why she just let it slide without making an issue about it. This behavior of Shahwez’s wife allows him to do what he feels like without bothering about the fact that he is being disloyal to her. Gul thought hiring male servants was enough but she has no idea that he will find himself plenty of options outside the vicinity of his home. Gul has her own complexes & even though she has found out the truth, she feared confronting Shahwez because she is well aware of the fact that she is not an ideal match to him & he can anytime leave her. Gul is definitely undermining the fact that Shahwez won’t leave her because he has gotten used to the luxuries & the lifestyle this marriage has provided him but then Gul hasn’t thought about that just yet. Shahwez still hasn’t been able to take Afreen out of his mind & he will surely create problems for her in the future.

Closing Thoughts – Hoping For The Story To Kick-start:

Overall, Dar Khuda Se is a decent watch but I feel it’s a high time for the real story to kick start. I can already feel that my patience is being tested. The direction overall is pretty decent without much flaws or lack of attention to details but it’s just that the pace of this drama is coming across as the biggest flaw of this drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Dar Khuda Se.

Dar Khuda Se Episode 5 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – One-Sided For Now:

Ohkay so, this episode of Dar Khuda Se again focused on the aftermath of Azhar’s nikkah to Shehla. Even though this side of the story is also quite important to be told but I guess it would’ve made the drama a little more engaging if they had also kept on showing Shahwez’s life unfold on the side too. So far the story is coming across as one-sided & because there’s nothing much new in Afreen & her family’s track, it is kind of coming across a little less engaging.

Azhar’s Family Was Not Happy:

Azhar brought Shehla home & everyone had one thing or the other to say about it. Afreen knew that nothing could be undone therefore she told Tamkeen to relax & accept the fact that Azhar was now married. Azhar has pretty much made up his mind, he knew obviously that his family won’t jump with joy that is why he stood firm on his decision & kept on taking a stand for Shehla. Azhar had no shame in admitting that he got married for selfish reasons & he even let his parents know that he holds them responsible for pushing them to this limit.

Azhar’s father came to a solution where he wanted to do everything properly so that later on, no one blames him or his family, plus he was worried about the fact that this could jeopardize the chances of his daughters’ marriages. Even though Azhar’s mother was not happy but still she half-heartedly accepted Shehla but when it came to Tamkeen, she made it very obvious to both Shehla as well as Azhar that she was not going to allow them the peace of mind they were looking for. Tamkeen has her own issues & she has grudges against her father too because she thinks he has double standards but then Afreen continued to explain to Tamkeen but she obviously didn’t understand.

Junaid & his wife did feel that Afreen was a very nice girl but considering the kind of family she belonged to convinced them that they could not carry on with this proposal. This is yet another aspect that the writer has touched upon where she has shown that for some people, family background matters quite a lot & they were obviously not wrong in feeling a little hesitant about pursuing this proposal. Junaid’s wife had her own reasons but still both of the did feel for Afreen as they knew she was paying the price for something she was not responsible for.

On Shahwez’s side of the story, nothing much happened apart from his wife finding out about his fling with the house maid. Shahwez actually thinks he is a hit too smart & he underestimates his wife’s intelligence that is why he was taking such a huge risk but he obviously got caught & he doesn’t even have an idea.

Closing Thoughts – Still A Decent Watch:

Overall, this episode of Dar Khuda Se was pretty basic but I still enjoy watching it considering the fact that we have so many depressing dramas on air right now, this one feels a little less heavy & pretty much showcases the day to day struggles of a middle class family in a realistic manner. Yes we also have a contrast in the form of Shahwez’s life so it is a pretty good balance. This drama obviously is not extra special but it surely is a good watch. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Dar Khuda Se.

Dar Khuda Se Episode 4 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – Decent Watch:

Ohkay so, this episode of Dar Khuda Se was decent. The pace of this drama has been a bit on the slower side but the good thing is that every other episode has something new to offer which takes the story forward. Dar Khuda Se has turned out to be a good watch so far & I hope it stays that way in the future episodes too.

Afreen’s Siblings Are Selfish:

This episode of Dar Khuda Se focused on Afreen’s side of the story, mostly the selfish decisions her siblings were making without even caring about the consequences that they or their family might have to face.

Azhar landed himself in deep trouble & he couldn’t think straight because Shehla & her mother made sure to pressurize him in such a manner that he could not back out or second guess his decision. Shehla’s mother always wanted Shehla to get married to Azhar that is why the moment he proposed, she knew she had to do everything in her might to make that happen. Shehla’s mother knew she was taking the wrong approach but because she is a conniving person, she did not actually want to make it obvious to Azhar that she had accepted this proposal even before he had proposed. Shehla’s mother trapped Azhar & manipulated him into getting married as soon as possible because she knew that if he’d do some more thinking, he might as well back out & that was something that she did not want!

Tamkeen had started to enjoy the attention that she was getting from Rasheed. Tamkeen is desperate for attention, care & love but the sad thing is, she is letting this desperation get the better of her & that is why she entertaining undue attention. Tamkeen found Rasheed’s opinion about her flattering that is why she continued to have long conversations with him. Tamkeen is desperate & doesn’t have much of an exposure, that is why the things she say to Afreen are always uncivil & disrespectful. Tamkeen can not even fathom the idea that Afreen goes to work & despite being in contact with males in her office, she hasn’t found her love interest. Tamkeen actually thinks Afreen is like her but Afreen is not selfish & she is always mindful of the fact that she is earning to support her family. Despite being concerned about the fact that Afreen must have been hurt by Azhar’s accusations, Tamkeen continues to try finding out the reason that could justify what Azhar had said about Afreen.

Junaid & his wife came to meet Afreen’s family & the wife was pretty impressed with Afreen but then Azhar once again showed how selfish he is because he came along just when Afreen’s proposal was being put forth. Azhar himself wasn’t ready for this because he only wanted to get married to Shehla to secure her position but her mother had different plans & she forced Azhar to take Shehla with him. Once again, Afreen’s sibling proved that he is selfish & that he just didn’t care about his sisters.

Closing Thoughts – Going To Get Interesting:

This episode of Dar Khuda Se was good & it seems that the story is going to become more interesting. It sure is a drama based on a simple story & struggles of regular people but it definitely is being told in a decent manner. All the actors are doing a wonderful job. Dar Khuda Se Episode 3 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – Interesting:

Ohkay so, this episode of Dar Khuda Se didn’t really take the story forward but elaborated all that happened in the previous episode. The initial episodes of this drama have surely been dedicated to the circumstances of all the characters & the choices that they have made to reach to this point in their lives. The direction of this drama is to the point & the straight forward execution is definitely making it interesting to watch.

Everyone Has Something Going On:

Shahwez got married to Gul because of his ulterior motives but now he uses her age as an excuse to continue with his wrongdoings. It is like in this entire equation, Shahwez sees himself as a victim that is why he continues to do what his heart desires because he just feels unhappy with the fact that he is married to a woman older to him. Even though Shahwez already is at an unhappy place in this marriage, the reminders that Gul gives to him about this entire business belonging to her & her son also makes it obvious that this is another reason why Shahwez does all that he do, it is like he is unable to see all the comforts & luxuries he has in his life because of Gul but just makes an issue out of the fact that she hurts his ego & uses it as an excuse!

Afreen left the job which bothered Shahwez a lot & even though he tried to contact her, Afreen made sure to not let that happen. Junaid respects Afreen & because he has seen the kind of girl she is, he suggested his wife to meet Afreen & see if she’d like Afreen to get married to her brother. Junaid knows that Afreen is getting harassed at the hands of Shahwez & a girl like her doesn’t deserve to be treated that way, therefore he thought it would kind of help Afreen if she gets married.

Tamkeen has her own issues, slowly & steadily inferiority complexes are creeping in her mind & heart. Tamkeen keeps on comparing herself to Afreen & she feels useless plus Tamkeen wants to get out of this house as soon as possible, that is why she has started to develop interest in the sabzi wala. Tamkeen is just eager for a change in her life & she feels marriage is the only way out that is why she makes an issue about the fact that her parents aren’t considerate about her!

Azhar tried to persuade Afreen to continue her job but when he saw that she had made up her mind & their father has clearly told him that he won’t allow him to get married at least before Afreen, Azhar decided to go ahead with the court marriage. Shehla’s mother is an opportunist & she has given Shehla a full edge to do what it takes to secure her place in Azhar’s life. Things will obviously get more complicated in the episodes to come & Shehla will only give Azhar’s family a hard time!

Closing Thoughts – Imran Abbas Steals The Show:

Overall, this episode of Dar Khuda Se was decent but didn’t offer much. As the scenarios will unfold, the drama will become more interesting. The acting of all the actors is really good but Imran Abbas steals the show with his perfect portrayal of a negative character like Shahwez. It is so good that Imran Abbas has decided to challenge himself with a character like this, it was much needed & it is nice to see that he has this kind of acting in him! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Dar Khuda Se.

Dar Khuda Say Episode 1 & 2 Story Review – Interesting Beginning

Introductory Details:

Ohkay so, writing of Sarwat Nazeer, direction of Anjum Shehzad & production of 7th Sky Entertainment; Dar Khuda Say has started airing on GEO Entertainment last week. It is a story about Afreen who is working to provide for her family & a predator Shahwez who is making it tougher for her. The first two episodes of Dar Khuda Say introduced the characters & gave an insight into the kind of lives they are leading. Being a Sarwat Nazeer script, the drama has had a very straight forward opening & without much delay, the plot has been set. Dar Khuda Say has had a very interesting start & I can not wait to see the rest of the drama.

Cast & Characters:

Afreen (Sana Javed) is youngest daughter of the house. Her family consists of her parents Mr. & Mrs. Siddiqui (Qavi Khan & Sajida Syed) & 3 older siblings; Tahir, Tamkeen (Kiran Haq) & Azhar (Ali Ansari). Tahir is married to Maham (Mizna Waqas) & he is settle in the Middle East. Tamkeen is a divorcee & Azhar is in a relationship with his colleague Shehla (Nimra Shahid).

Dar Khuda Say Episode 1 & 2 Story Review - Interesting Beginning

On the other end, we have Shahwez (Imran Abbas) who is married to a woman older to him (Mariam Mirza) & she also has a son from her previous marriage. It was pretty obvious right from the beginning that Shahwez got married to her only because of her business & wealth because he might have given her his name, but he is not loyal to her. Shahwez can be labelled as a womanizer & because his partner is not ideal according to his standards, he keeps on looking for flings every chance he gets.

Dar Khuda Say Episode 1 & 2 Story Review - Interesting Beginning

Afreen is the considerate one out of all of her siblings, that is why she is compassionate towards her parents & makes sure to bear the financial burden of her family. Afreen’s siblings are selfish & they just believe in fending for themselves & even though their parents are aware of it all, they are unable to bring a change in the dynamics of the house. Afreen not only goes out of the way for her family, she also lends her parents a shoulder to cry on as well. Afreen was once engaged to Maham’s brother but they called it quits because Maham accused Afreen of being in touch with her brother. Silly but true!

Afreen happens to be the new target of Shahwez because she works in his office. Shahwez tries to break the ice & woo Afreen but she stays stern & makes it very obvious that his advances are not going to be entertained. Shahwez has his sights on Afreen & he will obviously do what it takes to get her. Afreen’s colleagues understand her ordeal, where one of her friends tell her to be thick skinned while dealing with her family, another colleague Junaid understands how Shahwez makes Afreen uncomfortable. The very first interaction of Afreen & Shahwez made it very clear that Afreen did not like Shahwez one bit but was only continuing with the job because she has a family to support!

Dar Khuda Say Episode 1 & 2 Story Review - Interesting Beginning

So, Azhar who is already planning his wedding with Shehla spots Afreen being dropped off by a male colleague & he makes a big issue out of it. Azhar is just as selfish as his eldest brother Tahir. After making a huge scene & getting to know that Afreen is resigning from her job, Azhar tries to backtrack because he realizes that Afreen not doing a job would mean he will have to support his family financially & it will further delay his chances of marriage. Shehla also seems to be an opportunist who will later make sure that Azhar maintains a distance from his family. Tamkeen is another character who is bitter, negative & selfish. Her divorce has made her that way & she is very vocal about her demands & needs.

Closing Thoughts – Interesting:

The first two episodes of Dar Khuda Say laid the foundation of the story. Even though for now it seems like a very basic & simple storyline but I am sure Sarwat Nazeer will take it to another level because she usually excels in picking up simple stories & telling them in a brilliant manner. Sana Javed, Kiran Haq, Ali Ansari & every single cast member has done a brilliant job but Imran Abbas has proved himself yet again. Who would’ve thought that an all-time chocolate hero could take up such a role & show the negative side in such a phenomenal manner. All of his minute expressions where Shahwez clearly showed the negative thoughts & wrong intentions running through his mind were conveyed excellently by Imran Abbas. Chalo after the initial 2 episodes, one thing’s for sure, Imran Abbas is going to make this drama worthwhile. I know this is more about the suffering of Afreen but with a villain like Shahwez, though glorified, this is going to be a very interesting journey. I am highly recommending this drams to those who are still on the fence about it but yes, I have seen a few promos & the OST too so I will say that I am already not a fan of all the slapping that Afreen’s character is going to get. Please share your thoughts about the first two episodes of Dar Khuda Say.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Danyal Zafar’s bold video for Blue Butterfly gets all the criticism

0

Ali Zafar’s younger brother Danyal Zafar recently released an English-language song called ‘Blue Butterfly,’ bringing across a fusion of part rhythm and blues/part soul. The song, a beautiful composition to listen, shows the musical capabilities of Zafar, particularly as a young artist entering the industry.

However, its the video of Blue Butterfly that has generated a lot of hype. With Blue Butterfly, it is the first time a Pakistani artist flown across to the West and created likewise content for the international audience as well. And by that we mean, the content of the video is rather bold. It brings across the rawness of love and feelings, going a tad bit overboard for the gairat brigades in Pakistan.

However, people have been sharing all sorts of comments and reactions on Danny’s YouTube page and all over social media where the song has been uploaded.

In fact Danyal Zafar’s elder brother Ali Zafar, who looks a lot like him and is an acclaimed artist himself, has also been at the receiving end of the bashing stating how people have been mistaking him to be Danny and sending across hate his way for the bold video.

Danyal Zafar Wishes to go One Step Ahead of Ali Zafar

Danyal Zafar made a debut on Coke studio season 10 earlier this month and has managed to become the talk of the town since then. It isn’t necessarily for his singing though, but because of how similar he looks to his brother, Ali Zafar and well…because of him being Ali’s brother.

Regardless, he sang a song with Momina Mustehsan on Coke studio that received mixed reviews from the audience. He wasn’t able to charm the audience the way Ali is with his voice (and looks) but he is just beginning his music career so we can definitely hope for better things to come.

In an interview posted on dhanak(youtube), he revealed that he and his brother have a very different style in music, there are very few elements that interconnect them. He also said that the world already has one Ali Zafar, and there needn’t be two and so, he wants to make his own identity. He further claimed that Ali Zafar has inspired him in many ways and he wishes to make his brother proud. He hopes to find his own way and become successful in his own genre, his own way. He also acknowledged how lucky he is to be a part of Coke Studio, the voice of Pakistan.  The ambitious singer said he wants to go even a step ahead of Ali Zafar and believed that Ali would wish the same.

Danyal Zafar To Debut With Momina Mustehsan!

Danyal Zafar is the younger brother of talented Ali Zafar. Danyal is too into music and he will be making his debut in Coke Studio Season 10 this year. Danyal has expressed his joy on this opportunity.

Danyal will be faeturing not in one but two tracks in Coke Studio and his debut will be with Momina Mustehsan. Momina made her debut with last season and became social media sensation after her Afreen Afreen gig. Maybe this is time to have a crush for ladies? lol! Danyal second track will be reportedly with his brother Ali and he will be contributing as a musician on that.

Danyal Zafar Talks About His Awesome Big Brother

Danyal Zafar has started to gain his own footing in the music industry that was very much in awe of his big brother. Recently, in a video which is BTS of Coke studio season 10, Danyal talks about his big brother Ali Zafar.

Danyal tells that his brother is his inspiration and his pride and he does not have words to explain how it feels to perform with him. He further added about their song “julie” that the brothers jammed up the tune in their kitchen. Watching them perform together is a powerhouse of entertainment in itself.
