Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah starrer Durj, a film that was inspired by real life incidents in Pakistan and focused on the story of cannibals, was due to release on the 18th of October, all over Pakistan. However, in a rather unexpected and rather unpleasant turn of events, the central censor board in the country has halted the release of the film, a fortnight before it was due.

According to a post shared by the film’s official Facebook page, the censor board had some sort of objections and have halted the release in Pakistan for now.

“We are working on it and trying our best and have requested the authorities for another review, and if they find any thing unsuitable we can remove it as per their request,” read the official statement by the filmmakers.

Until the objections are resolved, Durj will not be releasing in Pakistan. However, the film, which was also due to release internationally across the UK, USA, Canada, Norway and Denmark, will do so, as per its schedule on the 11th of October.

In Pakistan, Durj, was being distributed by IMGC Global. However, with the censor board objecting to the release now, we’ll have to wait for this unique story to see the light of the day in the country, whose cinema industry is already faced by a draught ever since the ban on Indian films.

Durj’s trailer brought across a very unique and eye opening storyline, with excellent performances by both Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah. The duo came across as raw and powerful, enticing the audience to watch the film as soon as possible. However, as it seems, we’ll all have to wait some more now.

Cengiz Coşkun is a Turkish television and film actor. He is best known for his role as Turgut Alp in the show Diriliş: Ertuğrul. When Diriliş: Ertuğrul got aired in Pakistan all of its characters got immense fame. Cengiz played the main character of Turgut Alp who was a companion of Ertugrul and stayed with him in all the triumphs.

All the Diriliş: Ertuğrul cast got immense love from Pakistan and they even got contacts in Pakistan. Lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir died on Sunday after suffering cardiac arrest. She was 66. Her funeral will be held at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday. Born to bureaucrat Malik Ghulam Jilani and Sabiha Jilani in Lahore on January 27, 1952, Jahangir was best known for her pro-democratic and human rights activism.

Aiman Khan and Minal Khan are two one-of-a-kind actresses of our drama industry because they are twins. There are no other twins who look the same in our drama industry. Sometimes it is very difficult to tell these girls apart but one things is for sure that both of them are very gifted. They are good performers who take their work very seriously.

Sanam Baloch made Aiman and Minal’s birthday extra special for them by celebrating their birthday on her Morning Show which airs on ARY News.
