Recently Geo had entered into a non-exclusive agreement with veteran writer, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar similar to the ones he has with other TV channels, for dramas and a film script. However, following Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s misogynist comments that he made in a live show, against fellow panelist Marvi Sirmad, Geo Network and 7th Sky Entertainment suspended its contract with the writer.

The move has been made and now people, including celebrities are lauding Geo for its bold move and raising its voice against people like Khalil ur Rehman Qamar.

Pakistan has joined the climate march and became part of global protests on climate change, being one of 120 countries to go on a climate strike.

With around 26 cities in the country participating, citizens set out to the streets to demand action from government to eliminate the use of plastic and make environment carbon dioxide free by planting more and more trees and make cities clean. Shahid Afridi Foundation, in partnership with Islamic Relief Canada organized Hope for Pakistan — a fundraising gala for the Sahibzada Fazal Rehman Charity Hospital in Kohat, Pakistan.

The two charities are coming together to raise funds for the Sahibzada Fazal Rehman Charity Hospital, which will provide medical aid and healthcare to some of Pakistan’s most underprivileged communities.

Celebrities and media personalities including United Kingdom Deputy High Commissioner at Karachi Elin Burns, model and actor Ayesha Omar, Wasim Akram’s wife, Shaniera Akram, activist Frieha Altaf, starlet Momal Shaikh, actor Yasir Hussain, Parchi actor Hareem Farooq and Tooba Siddiqui joined #BeatPlasticPollution campaign, organised by WWF-Pakistan in collaboration with Hoga Saaf Pakistan to put an end to environmental pollution.

This five-day activity started from 10 August at Dolmen Mall Clifton invited people to donate their used plastic bottles in exchange for the opportunity to win exciting gifts.

The campaign focused on educating the masses about the world and the country’s plastic problem and how important it is to recycle. The plastic waste collected will be subsequently recycled by Waste Busters. The total number of plastic bottles collected were 2000.

The celebs encouraged citizens to replace single-use plastic products with reusable alternatives and emphasised on the need to create awareness on hazards of plastics in every day life.

One of the major concerns of plastic waste is how it is putting marine life in grave danger since marine animals ingest plastic. This not only causes internal injuries but toxins are also passed into the food chain consumed by humans.

Every piece of plastic ever made still exists somewhere in the world and we need to play our role individually in protecting the planet from becoming one big plastic waste dump.

Celebrities generally have very busy schedules. They have to be on sets for more than 12 hours for shootings and circumstances also differ from set to set. There has been a lot of noise lately regarding bullying and problem of drugs growing in our schools. A lot of stories float around us everyday and now another incident has gone viral where some girls have been beating up their fellow classmate while others were standing and filming the whole scene.

The video is allegedly of Scarsdale International School located in Lahore where the incident occurred. The reports suggest that the girl being beaten was stopping her class fellows from consuming drugs. The victim had told her parents about what was going on in school and also informed the parents of the other girls who later on beat her. This made those girls retaliate and torture the victim in school premises. Here is the video:

From good food to increased ibada, Ramadan brings new colours and blessings to Muslims. The month is nearly ending and everyone is getting ready for Eid. So, this is the right time for those Suhoor and Iftar gatherings. Our celebrities too are done with their busy schedules and finally have time to hang out and break their fasts together. Thus, we are witnessing many big gatherings where our favourite stars are coming out and doing their Suhoor and Iftars together.

Eid ul Fitr just passed after full three days of meeting with family and friends, having a great time together and having the best desi food making all our days colourful. Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai recently tied the knot with general manager of the PCB’s High Performance Centre, Asser Malik, in a small Nikkah ceremony at the Yousafzai residence in Birmingham. Malala left her fans and followers surprised as she broke the news on social media.
