Naeem Tahir is a legend of Pakistan. He is an actor, columnist and public speaker. He comes from a legendary family who was all related to arts and he has given many hits that will be remembered for ages. His sons Faran Tahir and Ali Tahir are both established actors and they are also taking the legacy of art forward with their work.
Pakistani artists have borne so many difficulties in their lives and most were never even documented. Talking in Wasi Shah’s Zabardast, Naeem Tahir revealed the biggest regret in his life and the pain he felt till this day. He shared that he was heading Arts Council in 1972 and it was taken over by the state. His mother got really sick at the time and she was taken abroad for surgery. She wanted to see him as her condition got serious but he was threatened that if he even tried to leave Pakistan, an FIR would be lodged against him. The person who took over his seat used to get favours from him in the past and later on blocked his travel. His mother died at the time and he was not able to see her in the end. This is a regret that he carries till today.

He said that he has known Saba since the early 2000s when she lived in a house provided by an “admirer”. Saba Qamar did not back down and sent legal notice to Naeem Hanif and declared that she will not back down and take such allegations.
Naeem Hanif has now responded after receiving the legal notice in another podcast. He said that criticism is the beauty of the media and digital media. He takes it with open arms but he has been in the field for a long time. He knows when criticism is organic or paid and he has seen many such “criticisms” and he will handle it. He also added that this is not a controversy for him, he just said his side.
This is what he said:
Naeem Hanif also spoke abou his jornalistic career. He said that he has been trained by the pioneers of the media and he knows how censorship works. Pakistan Idol was an extension of the American Idol franchise. The first season was held a decade ago and the show was brought back on a grand scale a decade later. With big names in the judges panel and big channels selected for broadcasting it, this seemed like a venture which was definitely going to succeed. But the show has been suspended now.
Though the audience of Pakistan Idol was told that the show is not airing because of war and economic problems, the reality is now coming out. With Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash and Bilal Maqsood as judges, the sudden suspension did look suspicious. That is when photographer Ahsan Qureshy filed a lawsuit against the show for non-payments.
Journalist Naeem has now exposed the reality. According to him, this is not Pakistan Idol but Fraud Idol. All the vendors on the show from graphics to lights, none were paid. The star judges and artists including Rahat and Fawad have a total of around 50 crores stuck in payments and everyone is being kept shut and they are being approached by the company who made the show through separate channels so they do not unite. The show has become a disgrace and therefore the finale was neither shot nor aired. They have even approached Ahsan Qureshy to take his payment and withdraw the case.
Soon after the launch of Pakistan Idol Season 2, the show stirred a major controversy involving its judges — Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Bilal Maqsood, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Many questioned the credibility of the Pakistan Idol judging panel. Initially, social media users criticized the selection of judges, a sentiment later echoed by singer Humaira Arshad. Now, senior Pakistani journalist Naeem Hanif has also expressed his disapproval of the panel.
In his podcast on RNN News, Naeem Hanif criticized the Pakistan Idol judges, stating that Bilal Maqsood, Zeb Bangash, and Fawad Khan are not suitable choices for the judging panel.
Talking about the judges, Naeem Hanif said, “All the people other than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can’t be called judges. Even if any of them are doing music, that won’t make them eligible to judge others. They are not right for the seat. Yes, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can get a margin to judge an upcoming singer. There is also an objectionable thing that he is being given a side seat; he must be better given a main spot and the other members after rating the singers, should refer the singer to him for the final decision, if you have to go with the same jury. He should be treated there like a King. There is a member from Karachi who was in the musical band, I have heard he has done music but Fawad Khan as judge is questionable. I have heard, he has done music with Ahmed Ali Butt. Being Madam Noor Jahan nawasa doesn’t make you a good singer. Fawad Khan and Ahmed will be more or less similar kind of singers if they had been part of a band. About Fawad Khan, the criticism is he should judge acting auditions.”
Naeem Hanif is a renowned Pakistani journalist and anchor who made headlines in November 2025 after making allegations against famous actress Saba Qamar regarding her past. The anchor claimed that he had known Saba since the early 2000s, when she was allegedly living in a house gifted by an admirer. Saba Qamar strongly called out Naeem Hanif and sent him a legal notice. She stated that she has built her name through honest hard work and would not allow anyone to tarnish her reputation with false accusations.
Today, on his channel RNN’s podcast, Naeem Hanif issued a public apology for his statement against Saba Qamar.
Talking about the matter, Naeem Hanif said, “Yes, I wanted to talk about Saba Qamar. On November 3, we shared a piece of news regarding Saba Qamar, claiming that she was living in a house gifted by her boyfriend, with whom she was allegedly in a live-in relationship. Later, I researched this news and found out that it was a false claim and completely against reality. The news was not true. This report became the reason for Saba Qamar’s heartbreak, and we publicly apologize for the news that caused harm to our actress.”
Social media users are appreciating Naeem Hanif for accepting his mistake and some are saying that Saba Qamar has updated his software. A few said that one should research before sharing the news. Read comments here:
Zombeid is a new film starring Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat. This is another of Fahad’s collaboration with Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi. The film was released on Eid ul Adha and Fahad has been celebrating the success of this movie. The actor has shared that the movie has won hearts as well as the bank. But journalist Naeem Hanif does not agree with the film’s success.
Naeem Hanif is a seasoned journalist and he was analyzing Fahad Mustafa’s request to Punjab Government to extend cinema timings amid lockdown as his film is receiving love of the audience. Naeem Hanif said that Zombeid as well as all other Eid films were flops. He added that Zombeid was not even able to sell 2 tickets on 3-4th day of Eid and no one was coming to watch it. He criticized Fahad Mustafa and company who try to fake the success of their film when their content is bad.
Naeem Hanif further added that if public is not coming to watch your film till 10 p.m., increasing two more hours won’t help you. He added that Fahad Mustafa and others cannot make a film until they collaborate with old technicians of the film. He also said that Fahad and others got a share from Punjab government’s film grant without any merit.
Naeem Hanif is a senior Pakistani journalist and anchor who has worked for popular channels like Samaa TV. Nowadays, he hosts a podcast on RNN News, where he fearlessly exposes top Pakistani celebrities. The anchor recently spoke about renowned Pakistani photographer Irfan Ahson, who is admired for his wedding photoshoots.
In his recent podcast on RNN News, Naeem Hanif shared a sad incident involving famous Pakistani photographer Irfan Ahson.
Naeem Hanif said, “I got a phone call from the renowned Pakistani journalist Sami Ibrahim, who told me that his close relative had booked Irfan Ahson for his daughter’s wedding. The bride herself had requested her father to hire the ‘Jaati Umraan photographer’ Irfan Ahson. The bride’s father paid around 15 lakh rupees in advance, but unfortunately, the bride passed away on December 5, while the wedding was scheduled for December 25. She was the only daughter, so the wedding was obviously cancelled, and all the bridal services were called off by the family. The bride’s father contacted Irfan Ahson, the Presidential Award winner, and requested him to deduct his fee and return the remaining amount since the bride had passed away. However, the photographer replied that they do not have a refund policy and suggested adjusting the booking to another event. Now, what were they supposed to do? They had lost their only daughter; they obviously were not going to arrange a graveyard photoshoot. This happened with one of Pakistan’s elite photographers, who became arrogant after working with rich families.”
Naeem further claimed that Irfan Ahson personally told him as well that the money could not be returned and could only be adjusted for another event. Watch here.
Resham and Deedar are currently in the news due to their viral fight, which started on Hina Niazi’s show Suno To Sahi. During the show, Deedar called Resham someone who destroys homes and even labeled her an untrustworthy friend. The situation escalated further, with Resham also lashing out at Deedar. Several dignitaries urged Deedar to apologize, but she later refused.
Lately, renowned journalist Naeem Hanif has exposed Hina Niazi’s alleged role in this ugly controversy.
Speaking about it, Naeem Hanif said, “This is not Deedar and Resham’s act; this is the mischief of Hina Niazi, the host of Suno To Sahi. I will further provide proof through an audio which she sent to Resham, where she was threateningly inviting Resham to her show. She holds a strong position at Suno News—while other colleagues can be easily fired, Hina Niazi never loses her job due to alleged blackmailing. What Hina does is go to the makeup room when guests arrive, start a conversation, and say things like, ‘Oh, you know Resham said this about you?’ This is her strategy. The guest becomes angry, and when she mentions the same artist again on-air, the guest lashes out.”
He added, “This is not a single incident—we have multiple examples. The same happened with Deedar recently, which caused her to lose her calm and lash out at Resham.”
He further stated, “I have caught this cunning Hina Niazi. She used the same tactic with another actress, speaking against Deedar, and that actress later bashed her. This is her go-to strategy. I will expose Hina further in upcoming shows.”
Naeem Hanif also revealed a voice note allegedly sent by Hina Niazi to Resham. He claimed that Hina was upset with Resham because she charges a fee, like other actors, for appearing on the show, which is paid by the institution. He further alleged that Hina invited Resham to her wedding, but Resham declined, as it was not an important event for her.
He concluded, “If you want her to appear, you have to pay her.” He also mentioned that Hina later sent Resham a message along with a voice note.

On Nadir’s question, “what advice will you give to Kaifi Khalil?”, he replied, “He is a brilliant artist. His father was an instrument maker. Allah has indeed given him a huge respect and fame. Now, I have an advice for him as he sings only one song “Kahani Suno” for one hour. He only has one song to offer in a one-hour long concert. He needs to gather more songs like this. He needs to have other hits too, so that people don’t ask about “Kahani Suno.” He should also have a band with him. Also, he needs to produce two or three hits like “Kahani Suno”; he should have enough material to sing for hours. He is a hit, but he needs more songs to engage crowd, this thing will go in his favour because his crowd is amazing and responsive. He should give back-to-back hits; it will not fail him as a singer.

Naeem Abbas Rufi is a classical Pakistani singer who rose to fame after signing popular Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan songs in concerts. He does concerts across the world and sings live for long hours. Ayaa Laariye was his famous Coke Studio song. Recently, he appeared in Nadir Ali’s podcast where he revealed that singers use to have hash and drinks inorder to improve voice. He refered alcohol as water. He further revealed that water (alcohol) is common in actors as well.
Talking about Pakistani singers who consume drugs for improving voice, he said, “some singers use to consume drugs (hash) for improving voice but it’s their misconception that it helps improve the throat, those singers are following a few big singers (from past) who used to have hash, but those big singers had a proper diet regime. It’s not like they used drugs without a solid diet. Also, the hash isn’t good as it dries up the throat. The other thing that singers use is good for throat and voice, it’s okay for the singers to drink water (alcohol), it helps in improving voice. A lot of singers drink water, well, a lot of actors also drink water. White or red, both colored water is good for throat. Have a look at the video link:
