Speaking about Farhan Saeed, he said he met him through a friend after Atif Aslam left and according to Goher, Farhan Saeed was not actually needed in the band as he himself was a vocalist as well. Gohar Rasheed plays the character of Mikael in drama serial, Mann Mayal. In an interview with BBC Urdu, Gohar Rasheed shared an incident where he was harassed by angy Mann Mayal fans.

“I went to the cinema with a couple of friends and there were a few older women standing nearby. One of them came up to me, and asked, ‘Aap Mikael hain na?‘ and I said ‘yes.’ Just then in all seriousness, she said, ‘Ap bohat buray hain’ and the other woman standing behind her said, ‘Ap please yahan sey chaley jaein warna hum ap ko chapair maar deyngay’ and had I stayed there a few moments longer, I would’ve probably gotten a slap.”

Gohar Rasheed believes that the audience can relate to the character of Mikael. “When the drama aired, I received messages from women on my Facebook page and profile saying, ‘Thank you so much for playing your character so well, our ex-husbands used to behave exactly like that; mistreating us while we used to sit naively and thinking no, he is my husband, there was also the societal pressure. Now after watching Mann Mayal we realise we were only ill-treating ourselves. Thank you so much for playing this role and you’re a terrible person’.”

“It’s a celebration song shot in suburban Karachi,” Rasheed told The Express Tribune. “My character is a dholak player, who stumbles upon this celebration of a newborn baby where a hundred transgenders are dancing and participates in it.”

“It is an item song because of the elaborate and colourful set, mainly. The song is done in good fun and not meant to degrade them. In fact, you will find many transgenders dancing and celebrating with people on many occasions across Pakistan so it is not out of the ordinary,” he added.

He further said, “When I was working on this song, I never thought about what the audience would perceive. The idea is to give transgender community an opportunity to be a part of the entertainment industry so they can be perceived as equals. But when we were working with them, I realised they were equally talented as anyone else, maybe even better. So, the purpose is to show that they can be good entertainers and deserve equal opportunities and equal rights.”

“When we talk about trans community, it’s always a little uncomfortable. But working on the song made me realise that it’s okay to hang out, chill and dance with them. This song is a statement on its own way because we wanted to generate a certain thought.”

Rangreza is a musical-romance film featuring a love triangle between Gohar Rasheed, Urwa Hocane and Bilal Ashraf. Gohar will be seen as a Dholak player who is in love with Urwa’s character. While Urwa falls for the rockstar played by Bilal. “But I would say it is thematically connected. The film is about injustice and how only the rich get the most opportunities. So, in that way, this song fits right into the narrative and conveys a strong message about providing equal opportunities to everyone,” said Gohar.

Rangreza is directed by Aamir Mohiuddin, written by Akhtar Qayoum and co-produced by Usman Malkani and Akhlaque Mahesar.

Gohar Rasheed is a Pakistani actor mostly known for his work in drama serials like “Digest Writer” and “Mann Mayal”. The actor has also worked in movies like 021, Yalghaar and is currently coming up with yet another feature film Rangreza.

In a recent interview Gohar talked about his journey so far, the actor revealed that his father wasn’t exactly ecstatic about him joining the entertainment industry and was pretty sure Gohar would fail and return home in a few months but God works in mysterious ways and from Karachi’s theater scene Gohar ended up straight in the Best Actor nominees at the New York Film Festival for his movie Seedlings. In his interview Gohar talked about his faith in God and fate, that one can try his best and leave the rest to God, he also added that tho our nation in general is racist and prefers “fair skin” anyone, no matter how gorgeous, can’t and will not survive without craft and skill. The actor said that he loves playing “the baddie” but won’t mind playing the good guy once in a while to prove his versatility.

When asked about working in Bollywood the actor had the following to say:

“It’s a creative process, acting and film-making. So if I get an invitation with dignity and respect, I’d love to go. My only concern is that the script should be good and it shouldn’t pit me as ‘the Pakistani guy.’ I rejected Neerja for this very reason… because I felt that I was there as a token Pakistani actor which is not what I am about at all! I am more than just a namesake. If it’s a good collaboration, if it’s exploring my potential as more than just ‘that Pakistani actor in an Indian film,’ yeah I don’t mind.”

We agree with Gohar through and through, art is nothing without dignity and sincerity, we wish the actor all the luck for his future endeavors because this industry deserves a better class of villains and he’s gonna give it to us (hard to miss but it’s a Joker reference).

Gohar Rasheed and Sonya Hussain have coaxed the delirium of their fans by announcing their first feature film together by the name of  “Lockdown”.

When the news came out the film was supposed to be featuring Faryal Mahmood and Gohar Rasheed. Later on the director announced that Sonya is now replacing Faryal Mahmood.

Gohar Rasheed in one of his latest interview talked about his upcoming feature film Lockdown and said: “As it is very obvious from the name, the movie is about the current circumstances.”

Gohar has some really good friends in the industry and he is always spotted with his inner circle. He is very good friends with his London Nahi Jaunga co-star Kubra Khan.

A lot of people have worked very hard to get this industry in the place where it is today but there are still some weaknesses in the films that are being made and only constructive criticism can help the filmmakers rectify these mistakes in the future.

Gohar Rasheed who is a big fan of Moin Akhtar, Hamayun Saeed and Hamza Ali Abbasi showed his discontent with the kind of comedy that is being shown in some of the films that are about to be shown in cinemas.

No one in Gohar Rasheed’s family has been a part of the entertainment industry so he is very happy that he made an identity all of his own. While talking to MAG Weekly the talented actor said, “Kambakht is Hamza Ali Abbasi’s brainchild. I will play a corrupt SHO in the film.”

Gohar Rasheed has gained fame on television and is now working in films but theater remains his first love. According to him, “Theater is like an addiction. When the audience claps for you, it gives you a high that no award can reproduce.” Gohar Rasheed will also be seen playing the role of a militant in the upcoming film ‘Yalghar’.

Mirza Gohar Rasheed is a Pakistani film and drama actor, model, and radio representative. The handsome young guy is in the showbiz since 2007 and has seen playing different roles on screen. Gohar Rasheed was recently spotted in an interview with “Fuchsia Magazine”.

Gohar Rasheed while talking about drama serial Laapata, disclosed that “When I got the call for drama serial Laapata, I immediately refused it without knowing the storyline and the script of the drama. All I know was that it’s a negative character so I refused.”

“After some days the team approached me again and requested me to set a meeting with them. Halfheartedly, without reading the script I went on the set. I sat down with the director, he narrated me the whole story but the thing which attracted me was the directors vision, so I agreed to portray Daniyal’s character”, added Gohar Rasheed.

The multitalented and versatile Gohar Rasheed was recently spotted in an interview with “Fuchsia Magazine”.

Gohar Rasheed while praising fellow actress Sarah Khan, mentioned that “It was an amazing experience working with Sarah Khan. She is a brilliant and versatile actress. I truly respect Sarah Khan a lot.”

“When we were shooting for Laapata, Sarah was expecting at that time. There were many intense scenes to shoot that the entire team was very careful about it but hats of to Sarah who gave her best performance, being responsible at the same time”, added Gohar Rasheed.

Gohar further mentioned that “Being a performer, I never felt that Sarah has compromised on her work due to her pregnancy. In this industry I have hardly came across anybody that honest, that true and that genuine like Sarah. Falak is lucky enough to have a life partner like Sarah.”

In the recent episode, of G Sarkar Gohar Rasheed was invited. Nauman Ijaz asked Gohar Rasheed about the existence of black magic in the industry.

“I have heard such things,” said Gohar.

“It is mainly in females, whether they do this or not, but I’ve heard such news and incidents. Another thing that I know is rather than acknowledging your own shortcomings, they start blaming others. When they don’t find any other thing they put the blame on magic. That’s an inside thing. Probably people don’t admit that I haven’t done hard work and someone else has taken it so now I am jealous now in my jealousy I will put the blame on another person and if it is not justified they I will put it on black magic”

Usually seen essaying unconventional roles, a source revealed that the versatile actor Gohar Rasheed will be next seen in the upcoming Maula Jatt. Under Bilal Lashari’s direction, the remake of Sultan Rahi’s classic will feature Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick. Gohar is the reportedly the latest addition to the cast of the much-awaited film.

Gohar has earlier played Zia-ul-Haq in Anwar Maqsood’s plays and was also seen as Duke in Moulin Rouge. Coming from theatre, it comes as no surprise that he is one to have pulled off exemplary roles.

Following out of the box character Waseem Wallay and with Maula Jatt in the works, we’re eagerly waiting to find out which character from the original he would be playing in the remake.
