Feminist movements have gained ground in pakistan as well like in all other countries of the world as education and awareness is becoming common. Though Aurat March and other protests like it are more covered by the media, there are many women in the country who are working towards women rights and elevation of their social status through different platforms. The results however, have not been very visible on ground as many think that Pakistan is majorly a country of lower and lower middle class and these feminist movements have not been able to even recognize their core issues. There has also been a lot of discussion over feminism in Pakistan being applied partially and many vocal people from the movement working more towards women superiority rather than equal rights.

Uroosa Siddiqui was a guest on Nida Yasor’s show where she was giving advice to young to-be-married girls on how to tacle their life with a new family post-marriage. She talked about respect being the most important factor in this new relationship. She advised the young women to respect everyone in their new family.

Uroosa said that clarify your feminist beliefs before you get married. Clarify your thoughts on if you will pick your husband’s shoes or not or you will serve breakfast to your mother in law or not. She said that you should remember that you are going to a new space and they will have their own set of rules like you go to a new school or a new office. It takes time to understand. She also said that if you keep on giving respect, one day the other party will realize it.

Parizaad was the block buster Pakistani television serial of 2021 and 2022, well, the serial aired on Hum Television Network. The super talented cast of drama serial Bandish 2 has recently appeared in Good Morning Pakistan where they reveal details about the drama serial Bandish 2. Well, Bandish 2 is the sequel of an already aired horror drama Bandish which starred Hira Mani, Zubab Rana and Sania Saeed. Abis Raza directed the show. Bandish 2 is also directed by Abis Raza under the banner of Big Bang Productions. The cast includes Affan Waheed, Sania Saeed, Amna Ilyas and Areej Mohyuddin. The drama airs on ARY. Affan Waheed talked about an accident which he faced on the set of Bandish 2. Shuja then told the whole incident, he said, “First day, when we both came on the set we faced a supernatural incident like we had a shelf attached with the wall, there was a pot with flowers and a few books over the shelf, me and Areej were just watching the shelf when the pot fell down on its own, the books also fell down, obviously, if we are doing the drama on supernatural existences so they will naturally shoe their existence to us”, Areej also said that she was super scary while doing shooting of her death scene in the drama and it gave her immense pressure while being on the set of horror drama. Another sad news has penetrated the Pakistani arts today as veteran playwirght, actor and teacher, Shoaib Hashmi passed away this morning.

He had an illustrious career as he had degrees in economics and theatre. He has worked a lot in the domain of theatre. He has done many golden productions for PTV including Akkar Bakkar, Sach Gap, Taal Matol and Balila. He was also a columnist and has translated several books. One of his major feats is the translation A Song for this Day: 52 poems by Faiza Ahmed Faiz.

Educationist and artist Salima Hashmi is his wife while legendary poet Faiza Ahmed faiz was his father in law. Actor Adeel Hashmi known for appearing in famous telecom ads is his son.
