Everytime, she used to regain health after remaining hospitalized, we were hoping the same, on the other hand, all our relatives came. She started feeling down again, her BP also dropped down, she was continuously talking to us till her last breath, I asked her, ‘mother, anything you need?, She said, “recite two Rakaat for me’, I prayed for her from Allah, for her ease, I took her outside on a wheelchair as well. When I realized that she is taking her last breaths, I went near her and said, ‘read Kalma with me’, she recited Kalma with me, she recited it in a bit louder voice”, well Afzal Khan got emotional while talking about his mother. Eid dramas this season were not as popular as they are generally every year and they did not manage to gain as high ratings or views as they did in the last few years. Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan starer Chand Tara was marketed heavily and the drama had the potential to gain Suno Chanda like ratings due to e big lead pair but it failed to do so as the audience was not too impressed with the storyline and looks like Behroze Sabzwari who plays Mir Jaffar aka Tara’s father is also not a huge fan.

Behroz Sabzwari shared his opinion on Fuchsia magazine. He shared that he did not understand why his character’s name was Mir Jaffar given the current scenario in the country. He said that he does not think that the name was a good choice.

He was also very open about the message of the drama not being really great. He said that he did not have the full script when he was cast and thus did not know how it will turn out. Though he is a family man and he is always talking about valuing your family and traditions but he does not agree with the message of Chand Tara. Eid Al Fitr has come to the end but the people are still enjoying their precious everything d festivities and moments with friends and family. Well, a lot of Pakistani celebrities are also enjoying Eid moments with friends and family, however, a few have gone back to work.

Well, there were two types of celebrities on Eid, many who posted a lot of perfect pictures on Eid day with friends and family and got good coverage, the others didn’t post much on Eid day but just dropped a few of their pictures. Hanish Qureshi is a super stunning and gorgeous star kid and a very successful realtor. She’s an amazing social media influencer too. Hanish is daughter of ace actor Faysal Quraishi who is one of the biggest Pakistani actors.

Recently, Hanish Qureshi has appeared in a chit chat session with Woke Capital. She opened up about getting various drama offers which she could not do. Talking about it Hanish Qureshi said, “I have teased my father a lot, you can say a lot to me about it, initially, when I was in college I had a lot of films and dramas offers but my father didn’t let me accept those offers, he was strict, he said, ‘over my dear body’, because he wanted me to be focused on education”. She further talked about pros and cons of being a Nepo kid. She says things are easily accessible to a Nepo kid. Talking about cons, she said that the Nepo kids are scrutinized all the time and then have a lot of pressures for no reasons.

She further talks about supporting her father through thick and thin. Talking about supporting Faysal Quraishi, Hanish Qureshi said, “recently, a propaganda was going on about my father which I checked, he didn’t say anything in his show, it was something that happened in his show which was negatively portrayed just to tarnish his image and I spoke in his favor, I would speak for him always, also, I have seen if you have the support of Allah Almighty, no one can harm you and there are many jelous people with the one who has seen a lot of success”

Anchor Kamran Shahid has made his debut as a film director and producer with Huey Tum Ajnabi this Eid. The film stars Mikaal Zulfiqar, Sadia Khan, Sohail Ahmed, Samina Peerzada, Shamoon Abbasi and Shahid and it is based on the Fall of Dhaka and a love that got torn between the two countries. The film’s trailer did not create much of a roar when it was released but people still were looking out for the chemistry between Sadia Khan and Mikaal Zulfiqar.

The film was made a few years ago but the release got delayed due to Covid’s shutdown. Huy Tum Ajnabi was one of the two big Pakistani film releases for Eid ul Fitr 2023 and the public verdict is out now.

The public is not very impressed with the film and many think that there are way too many songs for a single film. Others found historical inaccuracies while some think that Kamran Shahid as a debut director has not done too well. Here is what the public is thinking about Huey Tum Ajnabi:

This Eid Al Fitr was filled with happiness, excitement and meetups. Muslims celebrated it with enthusiasm. Pakistani actors also spent it with excitement and extracted every bit of Eid. The celebrities spent the first day of the Eid with family followed by lunches and dinners. Well, ace Pakistani television actor Faysal Quraishi spent a major part of Eid with his family. Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha are considered lucrative holidays for film releases in Pakistan. The days are so loved by the producers that last year we saw six films released on a single Eid and consequently damaging each other’s business. Eid ul Adha has seen many Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa releases and both always manage to do well. Things have also changed as two films have shown how a good script and good execution can make a film hit despite being no Eid. The two films are Teefa In Trouble and The Legend of Maula Jatt. Teefa did well though it was not released on Eid and The Legend of Maula Jatt has made benchmarks that will not be topped easily. This year also saw two big films releasing on Eid with one having a strong cast as an attraction while the other having a heavyweight journalist behind it.

Box office numbers for both films are out now and Money Back Guarantee has managed to do well despite getting mixed views from the audience. The film managed to gross 10 crores worldwide over the Eid weekend. Here is the breakdown by journalist Ali Zain:

Huey Tum Ajnabi is the debut film for anchor Kamran Shahid and it has some big names attached to the cast. Though the film looked very outdated, through a good number of shows, it managed to gross around 2 crores on the Eid weekend:

The mega-blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt is still making money and it has now crossed the figure of 114 crores just at the domestic box office:

Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor were seen all Ramadan on our screens as they were cast together in Chand Tara. People loved the show and the couple obviously were translating their real-life chemistry on the screen. The two stars have achieved and maintained a level of success not many can in the industry and still they both are always involved with their family affairs and the way they always spend time with their beautiful children.

Fans love to watch Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor with their kids Hoorain Taimoor and Rayan Taimoor. The family went out to an amusement park where they took different rides. The kids were enjoying and Ayeza also enjoyed herself completely. Grift is a Geo Television drama serial which aired daily at 9:00 pm. The story of the drama featured Roohi who was a beautiful young girl who belonged to the lower middle-class family. The girl Roohi had a dream of living a luxurious life and she forgot her morals in order to attain her goals. The cast of the drama includes Momina Iqbal, Saniya Shamshad, Ali Abbas, Naveed Raza, Seemi Pasha and Hashim Butt. The drama is written by Erum Wasi & Saima Wasi and it has been directed by Saleem Ghanchi. The drama has been produced by Abdullah Kadwani & Asad Qureshi.

Today, the much awaited last episode of the drama aired. The last episode of the drama had mixed reviews. Most of the people were of the view that the drama had the typical ending of killing the villian in the end, a few people said that the drama lost the charm because it was dragged a lot in the end. Viewers said that the drama became boring in end. A few people loved Roohi’s end while a few said that Roohi should have given some other punishment or suffering. Many people were of the view that the drama could be ended earlier. A lot of people are saying that Pakistani drama makers have gotten an easy ending for villains, they simply kill the villains in every drama. Ace Pakistani actor and producer Humayun Saeed has recently opened up about his grand production Selahaddin Eyyubi which is an upcoming grand period play. The series has been co-produced by Pakistan and Turkey. Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Dr Kashif Ansari, Ahmet Faruk Bakacak, Dr Junaid Ali Shah are the producers of the project Selahaddin Eyyubi.

Talking about the delay in Selahaddin Eyyubi, Humayun Saeed said, “in the start, people gave a lot of news about Selahaddin Eyyubi, it was quite hyped up and that is the reason why people got worried when they didn’t hear anything about it, well, the drama is soon going on the shootings and it will be aired in five to six months. The set of Selahaddin Eyyubi is grand and huge, and I think it’s the biggest collaboration that pakistan has ever done with any other industry or international media, it is huge, a few pakistani actors will also work in it so that people can connect that it’s a collaboration of Pakistan, I can’t say anything about working in the drama because of language barrier, it is being shot in Turkish language, maybe I would do a short character. In Pakistan, it will air after a year, but in Turkey it will go on air in six months. Here’s the video link:

Pakistani cinema though is on the road to revival, the film industry will not be able to reach its full potential till we allow the products made to release and let the audience be the judge of what they want to watch and what they want to boycott. Our films go through strong scrutiny and many films get banned even without a serious reason given by the censor board. Javed Iqbal is one such movie that has suffered senseless banning without a valid reason.

Javed Iqbal is written and directed by Abu Aleeha. The film stars Yasir Husain, Ayesha Omar, Rabya Kulsoom and many others and it has received rave reviews and awards at different film festivals. Javed Iqbal is based on the life story of a serial killer who molested, killed and dissolved the bodies of 100 boys and he never got caught but actually surrendered to the police himself.

The film has been hanging without a release for months and now it is all set to release on 19th May 2023. A few scenes have been censored and the film has been renamed as Kukri resulting in finally bringing the film to the cinemas.

Kukri aka Javed Iqbal is a highly-anticipated film. Let’s see if it captures the attention of the audience or not!
