After having wowed the audiences with her television performances, talented and very young actress Srha Asghar is all set to make her cinematic debut with upcoming film Record, slated to release at the end of this month.
Srha will be starring in a Pakistani horror film, a one of its kind as being stated. According to Srha, her role will be of a host, Shifa Khan,who wants to Record a paranormal activity for her show so she approaches a well established team. Another young and very versatile actor, Inayat Khan will be playing the head of the team.
“This is something different in terms of content. I hope you all will enjoy your watch,” said Srha while sharing about her film on social media.
Record The Film will be Pakistan’s first of its kind, documentary style, investigative found footage horror. The film’s story will revolve around a group recording paranormal activities in a haunted building.
Directed by Asad Siddiki the film will star Srha Asghar, Inayat Khan and Mahrukh Rizvi in lead roles. Record The Film is being produced by Kashif Khan Production and Malaysian based productions, Kre8ive Films and Mcmaan International. The film is slated to release across Pakistan by the end of February 2020, as shared by Srha herself in an Instagram post.
Just in – The very famous and Oscar winner veteran actor Kirk Douglas has died on Wednesday at the age of 103. The news was announced by his son Michael which was received with grief and sadness by his fans and followers.
Michael took Instagram as his medium and shared the news in a long dedicated post.
“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” Douglas said in the statement. “To the world, he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.”
“But to me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine, a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband.

Other than that, not much happened in this episode, however the preview of the next episode seems promising because Amaan will now start revealing his plan & agendas slowly. Yes, Ye Dil Mera has its fair share of flaws, but it definitely is one such drama on air right now that keeps you guessing & makes you look forward to what the future holds for the main characters – be it Amaan, be it Ana or even Meer Farooq. Ye Dil Mera has its directorial & editing flaws, however the writer has created a perfect mystery. It is a rarity to see such stories, therefore it definitely makes it an interesting watch.
The Manipulation
The highlight of this episode was Nargis Bua & her parting words with Meer Farooq. The resentment on Nargis Bua’s face for Meer Farooq was evident & it was enough to show that she did not respect that man. She was only there for the sake of Ana & now with Ana gone, she had no reason to be around the man that she knows has done no good in his life. I loved how subtly Nargis Bua’s expressions made it clear what was running through her mind. She was done with Meer Farooq, but that didn’t mean she won’t keep his secret forever. She knows it will only harm her because she has seen how far Meer Farooq can go. This conversation between Meer Farooq & Nargis Bua also made it clear that she knew everything about what he has done all his life but it was her love for Ana as well the promise she had made to Ana’s mother that made her stay in this house. For Nargis Bua, not only Ali Baksh even Meer Farooq is the same. Meer Farooq faked his calmness in front of Nargis Bua to let her know that her words did not make any difference but after she left, the discomfort was obvious. Meer Farooq is someone who has spent his entire life hiding his dirty secrets, therefore he would definitely feel threatened that the woman who is aware of all his secrets is out in the world, away from his control. Nargis Bua left, it was emotional how she was still concerned for Ana’s well-being. I can’t wait to find out why Amaan has a soft corner in his heart for Nargis Bua & I hope she stays safe from Meer Farooq.
The shift in Ana’s attitude & overall behavior with Amaan was another interesting & important aspect of this episode. Ana is running low on patience & it won’t be too long before she will fall out of her love for Amaan. She loves him, that’s a done deal but the way Amaan has been controlling her to the point of misbehaving with her goes to show that she is unable to come to terms with the fact that in the name of love, she should be accepting this kind of treatment. Ana has started to retaliate, obviously Amaan continues to manipulate her with his cheesy words but slowly & steadily, she has started to see Amaan for who he is. No matter how much Amaan tries to carry a facade, the fact that he has allowed Ana in his life obviously means that she is going to learn more about him each & everyday, even if he tries hard to keep everything from her. Amaan continues to test Ana, he wants her to never question him but that is definitely not going to happen. Ana surely loves Amaan with all her heart but by the end of the day, she comes from a background where everything was about her, it revolved around her & her mental & emotional health was taken care of but Amaan is expecting her to deal with every wrong coming her way without batting an eyelid. This will either make or break Ana, where she will either learn to take a stand for herself or she will completely become a stooge to Amaan. I think we have yet to see a drastic change in Ana’s character, she will definitely evolve. She did show those signs in this episode, therefore I am sure she is going to surprise the viewers with the transition that her character will go through.
Farhana Khala, I so wish she had known that sipping 10 cups of tea/coffee that too in the comfort of her home was not going to take her anywhere. If she really wanted to, she could’ve stayed back in Pakistan, away from Meer Farooq & inquired about Nilo Baji’s death. Does she really think that those who lied to her in person were going to spill the beans over the phone? They all are loyal to Meer Farooq, so they are obviously never going to tell the truth. The only person who can actually help her is Amaan, but not sure if she will consider getting in touch with him or not. Meer Farooq continued with his manipulation, this time the person being maligned was Farhana & the one who was getting manipulated like always was Ana. While watching this particular scene, I kind of felt bad for Ana. She is the only person who is innocent in this entire equation, but still, she is stuck between two men; Meer Farooq & Amaanullah who both have their issues. While watching her believing everything Meer Farooq was saying, I was just wondering how’d Ana come to terms with the truth. How will she deal with the fact that her father is a murderer & also that Amaan only got married to her to avenge his family’s death? Ana is already being used & she has no idea. I do feel for her but I want her to emerge stronger than ever. Let’s see how that will happen.
Interesting Preview
This episode of Ye Dil Mera was interesting & yes, the preview was enough for me to look forward to the next episode. Ahsan Talish at times does go easy on basic details & ends up making petty mistakes. This episode too had some glitches. Sajjad was shocked to learn that Amaan was already married, whereas he was at Amaan’s home right before Amaan left for his mehndi function because that’s when Ana called him & he let Sajjad know that he was getting married to the daughter of his enemy Meer Farooq. Amaan was not wearing a coat when he came from the office, which showed that he had unwinded a little but in the very next scene he was wearing his coat while talking to his friend on the phone? Anyways, Amaan’s conversation with Sahira was interesting too. Just when the viewers thought that his contact with Sahira will be his undoing, they clarified it that Amaan is being very diligent & he knows that he shouldn’t just trust her blindly. I am looking forward to the next episode when Amaan will take Ana to his childhood home, things won’t be smooth for both of them. Let’s see what happens next. The Bollywood star Zaira Wasim pens down an important note for Kashmiris. She voiced the concerns of Kashmiris and how they are suffering.
Taking to Instagram, the Dangal actress wrote, “Kashmir continues to suffer and see- saw between hope and frustration। There’s a false and uneasy semblance of calmness in place of escalating despair and sorrow। Kashmiris continue to exist and suffer in a world where it is so easy to place restrictions on our liberty.“
She went on questioning the circumstances, “Why do we have to live in a world where our lives and wills are controlled, dictated and bent? Why is it so easy to have our voices silenced? Why is it so easy to curtail our freedom of expression? Why aren’t we ever allowed to voice our opinions, let alone our disprovals, to decisions that are made contrary to our wishes? Why is it that instead of trying to see the cause of our view, our view is just condemned ruthfully?“
“What is so easy to curb our voices so severely? Why can we not live simple lives without always having to wrestle and remind the world of our existence. Why is that life of a Kashmiri is just about experiencing a lifetime of crisis, blockade and disturbance so abundantly that it has taken away the recognition of normalcy and harmony from the hearts and minds?“

Being expelled from the hostel served as a much needed reality check and after that all these 3 youngsters focused entirely on their studies and career. All through the drama in different ways, the writer showed how important it was for youngsters to focus on their main goal. Time and again through different situations, the writer kept on reinforcing the idea that for young people education comes before everything else.
When Saad and Dua decided to part ways, that was such a good way of conveying the message. Shehryar too did not want to get married or engaged to Masooma because he wanted to focus on his main objective which was getting himself prepared to get his dream job.
Education & Hard Work Is The Key To Success
This is the most important message in this drama. Although Shehryar, Shariq, Saad and even Gulzar come from completely different backgrounds but all of them managed to get somewhere in life because they concentrated on their education and most importantly they worked hard. Shehryar’s background was such that he could have continued carrying on his father’s legacy yet he decided to break the cycle by getting education and working really hard. There were so many times when Shehryar was helping his father and carrying on with his education at the same time, which was not easy but in the end he achieved his goal and in doing so he changed the future of his entire family. He will definitely be the reason why his sisters too manage to achieve something bigger in life.
Shariq’s track also suggested just that. Although, he came from a family which was not well off but he believed in himself and made sure he equipped himself with the education he needed to make his dreams come true. When he went back to his village, he mentioned that he couldn’t have done everything he did without the support of his elders who helped him get the education he needed. Apart from that all through the drama even Saad’s journey shows that without hard work you cannot achieve anything big. Women’s Careers are Just as Important as Men’s
This is another important lesson in the drama and one which has been put forward in a way which is anything but preachy. All those viewers who are watching Ehd-e-Wafa can never forget the conversation which Dua and Saad had when Saad came to help Dua with moving things in her new house. Dua asserted that she wanted to be a doctor because it wasn’t just important for Saad to get where he wanted but it was equally important for Dua to have her own career. Saad’s mother has also been shown as a working woman, Shariq’s sister worked hard to bring him up and run the house. All these examples of career-oriented women who are shown contributing to the society just as much as men do have been the most remarkable lesson in this drama. Ramsha is another bright career-oriented young lady. Raani too has been shown actively contributing to her husband’s career even though she is not educated and her ways are different from the other women. Even Saad’s sister has been shown as a creative and intelligent young woman with her own identity.
Most of our dramas portray women in the same light. The biggest accomplishment for most women in Pakistani dramas is to find a good man. Here we have so many wonderful women with good men in their lives but that for them is not enough. They are shown as individuals who also want to contribute to the society and do something for themselves. The men in their lives are their partners and not people they are dependent on.
Be The Change You Want To See In The World
We have some amazing young characters in Ehd-e-Wafa who really are making a difference. Instead of complaining about the system, most of these young people have worked hard to attain positions where they can make a difference. Shariq is fighting a war all on his own for the longest time. Instead of becoming a part of the system, he is constantly trying to be the change he would want to see. Similarly, Shehryar even with all his unfavorable circumstances was never shown complaining but he is now in a position where he can make changes for the better. Very soon, the viewers will see him do just that.
Saad too used his own capabilities’ and abilities to help others. His leadership skills were never used by him to show his superiority but he always helped his peers be their best by giving them confidence.
Respect Your Parents, Make Them Proud
The scenes covering this aspect of the play were the most emotional. Shehryar, Shariq, Saad and Gulzar made their parents proud and that for them was more rewarding than anything else. Through all these emotional scenes, the makers of the drama so aptly showed how young people can be a source of happiness for their parents. Even though Dua found out after her father’s death that she was adopted but she has made her parents proud by playing her role as a daughter as impeccably as she possibly could. This particular lesson is one which Pakistani dramas rarely have. The salutes from the parents to their children have been emotional and they left an impact.

After delivering a hit drama serial, the trio, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, Nadeem Baig as director and Humayun Saeed as the lead actor, have come together for another project. This time the hit-making team are working on a film, titled “London Nahi Jaunga.”
Humayun Saeed himself took to Instagram to announce that London Nahi Jaunga had begun filming today produced by Six Sigma Plus and ARY Films.

This isn’t the first time Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, Nadeem Baig, Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat have come together for a film. The team last worked on Punjab Nahi Jaungi in 2017 that became one of the highest grossing films in Pakistan. Although London Nahi Jaunga will be along the lines of PNJ, the film is not a sequel to the later, as confirmed by Nadeem Baig himself.

Ishqiya’s first episode was pretty decent and even though it seems like the story doesn’t have anything new to offer but this was definitely the kind of episode which kept my interest alive. All the central characters were introduced with utmost clarity in this first episode – which was great especially considering the fact that I have watched enough dramas lately in which the families of the central characters are most often introduced later on. While Feroze Khan and Ramsha Khan are playing the kind of characters they have played in other dramas too before, Hania Aamir’s character it seems might be different from the one she played in Anaa and Titli. Also, I honestly feel that Hania Aamir is an amazing actress who brings out the nuances in her characters exceptionally well. All the actors involved performed well, the background music at times was annoying but overall this first episode was fast-paced and engaging.

The Title and First Impression
When I searched Ishqiya on Google to find out about the cast, that is when I realized that there was a Bollywood film with a similar title too. I am not sure if this is a coincidence or not but it would be great if our producers can be a little more creative while finalizing the title for their dramas! After all there are so many different options! I am going to admit that I watched this first episode with the least bit of expectations especially after watching the highly disappointing and OTT first episode of Jhooti. The fact that I managed to sit through this episode without questioning the cast and the presentation in general was reason enough to take it up for reviewing until something better comes along.
The opening scene wasn’t impressive, my first thought was whether a university would allow their student to wear shorts on campus. Apart from that the background score made the whole scenario more filmi than fun. As the story progressed and the characters were introduced, there was more clarity and even though Ishqiya seems like another story which will revolve around relationships but this first episode was definitely more interesting than the opening episode of Jhooti which was all over the place. There are some clichéd but definite conflicts in the plot right from the beginning and if handled well it would be interesting to watch how all the characters handle these conflicting situations.
The Characters and The Story
Ishqiya’s story revolves around three different families and four main leads. Thankfully the conflict in this story isn’t one which involves class difference. Hamna (Ramsha Khan) and Hamza (Feroze Khan) are madly in love. Hamza is in a position to show this ‘madness’ since he has no problem with openly confessing his love for Hamna. While on the one side Hamza is shown as an angry young man with a romantic side, on the other hand he is introduced as a genius – someone who does wonders in his studies even though he does not fit into that studious student stereotype. Although that sum he solved on the board didn’t seem too difficult but it did imply that he was a good student. Hamza’s father (Khalid Anam) is really cool and the entire atmosphere in his house is completely different from that of Hamna’s. The contrast between the two households was quite apparent from all the scenes shown in this first episode.
Hamna has a sister Romaisa (Hania Aamir) who has a personality very different from that of Hamna’s. While Hamna is in love and afraid to disclose that secret even to her sister, Romaisa is more than happy living her life which is quite carefree to say the least. Romaisa is shown as a happy-go-lucky young girl who trusts her father completely with her future. Hamna on the other hand is set to be engaged to Azeem (Gohar Rasheed) by the end of this episode. Hamna and Romaisa’s father (Shabbir Jan) is strictly against love marriage therefore Hamna does not have the courage to tell him about Hamza. At the same time, she does not talk to Hamza about the proposal because she is scared of how he might react to it. Everything happens too quickly and Hamna’s worst fears come true.
The conversations and situations through which all the characters were introduced in this episode were for the most part convincing. It was easy to connect to the situations. The scenes covering the family life of the main leads were more entertaining than the scenes which were shot in the university. Having said that, the university scenes were important because they showed the intensity of Hamza’s feelings for Hamna. This part of Hamza’s personality will probably play an important role in creating an even bigger problem in the upcoming episodes. Hamza gave Mir Hadi (Khaani) and Adeel (Gul-e-Rana) vibes but I really hope that his character does not get too dark.
Final Remarks
Sadly enough, like always ARY has summarized the entire plot on its website. Therefore, we know exactly what is going to happen in the next few weeks. And once again I regret visiting the website to get information about the cast and for the teasers! All those viewers who don’t want spoilers should not visit the website.
While watching this episode I kept on wondering why Hamna could not share her secret with Romaisa who seemed quite ‘cool’. It would have been good if the writer answered this question instead of showing that Hamna just didn’t have the guts to do so! Also, why couldn’t Romaisa see that her sister was not happy with the proposal and that she was worried.
Some of Romaisa’s dialogues were hilarious and I enjoyed her cool and cute attitude. The parents’ characters were interesting too since they were not one-dimensional.
The preview of the next episode showed Hamna’s father pleading her to safeguard his honor and her meeting with Azeem suggested it would just be added pressure.
