Game Shows are the latest trend on different channels. It is a good way to engage the public in the shows and to gain popularity. Different Game Shows show different kinds of games. People volunteer to play these games and those people who win, get prices. Pakistani public has proved before too that they can do anything for prizes but one video from a PTV game show has gone viral in which we see a girl from the audience volunteering to play a game which is cheap. The game show is hosted by Fiza Ali. It isn’t just the way the game is played which is objectionable but the way the camera covers it is also being criticized by the general public. People are questioning the logic behind devising such games. It is shameful that people are willing to do anything for getting prizes and the game show hosts also do not choose games for their shows that are decent and entertaining.

Famous PTV news caster Taskeen Zafar passed away. Taskeen Zafar was a prominent Pakistani Urdu news caster and Radio announcer. She was born in Rawalpindi and in 1957, Taskeen Zafar’s broadcasting career spanned over four decades. She served PTV and Radio Pakistan for many years. In her superb career, Taskeen Zafar hosted multiple programs on Radio Pakistan and remained associated with Pakistan Television. She also conducted multiple current affair shows.

Today, the brilliant news caster passed away in Rawalpindi after a short term illness. Taskeen Zafar was 67 years old. The news of her passing was shared by Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television Network. Her Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at 4:30 pm at Eidgah, Lalkurti in Rawalpindi this afternoon.

The news caster joined Pakistan Television Network as an announcer in 1980. Taskeen Zafar was also presented with the Presidential award last year. Death of an experienced news caster is a big loss for Pakistan Television Network and Radio Pakistan. May Allah grant her higher ranks. Ameen.

PTV (Pakistan Television) is a national broadcasting corporation of our country. PTV is a terrestrial channel and its mandatory for cable operators to provide all PTV channels in their package. PTV has just celebrated its 49th anniversary and entered in its 50th golden jubilee year. PTV is not free to air, its subscription fee known as PTV license fee is included in electricity bills, is 35 rupees per month which is charged to both domestic and commercial customers.

A new proposal is now under consideration to increase the PTV license fee to 60 rupees per month and make it proportional to number of TV sets in a household i.e. 60 rupees per television set. So if a household has five sets, the total PTV fee will be 300 (5×60) rupees.

PTV has already circulated letters to power distribution companies and Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC). As per letter received at Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (LESCO), PTV has referred a case from its fifth survey, where a commercial electricity customer has 600 TV sets, and it is suggested to charge 36,000 rupees as PTV license fee in electricity bill. If approved, the new rule will be applied to commercial consumers first and later to domestic consumers.

Like previous years and every other channel PTV Home has also launched special Ramazan transmission. One such special program is ‘Roshnion Ka Safar’ featuring renown scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel perhaps the first instance of Maulana Tariq Jameel in a television program. The one hour long program consists of speech of Maulana. As per PTV’s sources, this program has out-shined all the other programs of this channel by earning revenue which is even higher then entertainment programs (mainly dramas). So far the program has earned a revenue of Rs 6 crores (60 million). Due to higher number of advertisement PTV Home airs 30 minute of commercials in this program. As per PTV Home, the program is widely appreciated by the viewers.

The PTV inquiry committee has recommended to off-air anchorperson Dr Nauman Niaz and Shoaib Akhtar from PTV sports show Game On Hai, Dr Nauman Niaz asked Shoaib Akhtar to leave the show in live transmission on state TV on 26th October 2021.

The inquiry committee set up by state TV is still investigating in to the issue till this verdict. According to sources, the meeting was attended by the Managing Director of Pakistan Television (MDPTV) and other officials.

The meeting examined the incident with Shoaib Akhtar. The meeting reviewed the preliminary report on the incident as well. According to sources, all the on-air and off-air recordings of the program were seen in the meeting. The inquiry committee also questioned Dr Noman Niaz.

According to sources, MD PTV during the meeting instructed Nauman to bring an alternative anchor in his place but Dr. Noman Niaz refused to do that and said that if he could not do the program himself, he will not refer to anyone.

Shoaib Akhtar, on the other hand, has said that he has resigned in front of Pakistan and the whole world, in live show, so how can PTV off-air him. Here is his tweet after PTV’s current verdict.

It is to be noted that after the match between Pakistan and New Zealand on October 26, Dr Nauman Niaz misbehaved with Shoaib Akhtar in live show on state television.

It often happens the new generation is not familiar with what their parents or grandparents watched on Tv. But it is otherwise with the millennials. They have YouTube and many other streaming services where they can watch the classics. PTV classics are those beautiful plays that neither people of the older generations nor the newer ones are ready to get over. What if I tell you that one of those eternal classics is being revived?

Well, brace yourself before we give you the story of the day. PTV classic Alif-Noon which starred Kamal Ahmed Rizvi as smart and cunning Alan and Rafi Khawar as innocent Nanha is making a comeback. It has been televised many times after its original run. The show had also made a successful transition from black and white to the color television but this time it is not going to be a television play. Rather, it will be grander than before. The satirical show is going to be turned into a movie. Isn’t it amazing? Well, yeah it is super amazing.

In an interview to a tabloid, Shahzad Roy who is playing Allan in the film said, “Alif Noon is now being converted into a feature film and will be released in 2019.”  It will also star Faisal Qureshi as Nanha. Teen Batta Teen also revealed that apart from acting, he will be writing and directing the film as well.

The channel which can be considered as the building block of the Pakistan’s entertainment industry recently celebrated its 49^th anniversary in Lahore on November 26^th, 2013. Been started in 1964, the channel has kept its followers. Now that the private channels have changed the entire theme of entertainment in general, the terrestrial channel still is one of the most expensive channels so far. Serving the said field for decades, the channel has a huge list of dramas and shows on record which not only generated a decent revenue but also entertained the viewers.

The ceremony was attended by the leading celebrities showing their love and regards towards the channel. Out of many celebrities, the prominent ones who were noticed in the eve were Badar Khalil, khushbaksh Shujat, Ahsan Khan, Noor ul Hassan and others.

PTV issued a notification announcing a ban on two of its female anchors who, it claimed, defamed the organization as the two took to social media and spoke publicly for harassment faced by them at the channel.

Tanzeela Mazhar and Yashfeen Jamal, both had complained for facing sexual harassment at the work place, i.e. PTV office. Tanzeela, an anchor on PTV took on Twitter to claim that she was harassed by Agha Masood Shorish, Director Current Affairs – Pakistan Television News, followed by Yashfeen’s claims similar to that of Tanzeela. It was reported that a committee will inquire the whole scenario, but PTV has taken a rather unexpected step instead.

The two anchors had spoken about a issue at a talk show too. A notice was issued by PTV’s Controller Current Affairs Habibur Rehman on Monday stating that both anchors are banned with immediate effect from the channel. The notice said that organization could not afford such insulting by anchors despite an internal inquiry being carried out officially.

Kanwal Nauman is a veterna actress and Pakistani politician. She has been working with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and also served as an MPA in Punjab. She also has a list of some great roles to her credit and she has worked with some of the biggest names in Pakistan in the golden era of films and dramas.

Kanwal Nauman has been active in politics but she has not worked in any dramas or films for the past several years now. She said that she left acting as she wanted her political colleagues to take her seriously which is not generally possible if you are an artist. Her colleagues respect her now and she has been getting offers lately but did not work in any dramas as production houses get scared of her political career.

Malik Taimoor, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA from Rawalpindi, has submitted a resolution to the Punjab Assembly seeking ban on the use of the word talaaq (divorce) in Pakistani television dramas.

According to Taimoor and other supporters of the move the word talaaq is creating a negative impact on Pakistani society and has been termed as undesirable in Islam. It, therefore, urges the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to ban the airing of the word on television across the country.

On the other hand the resolution does not suggest what substitute word should be used instead of “Talaaq” if the script requires so.

Pakistan Telecommunications Authority aka PTA controls and regulates the telecommunication systems, internet as well as content accessible online. They have also moved forward to take some important measures as India launches a propaganda war in the on-going India Pakistan conflict.

Indian news channels, YouTubers and media sites started peddling false propaganda last night. They were once again not even logical and started reporting things like Lahore has been conquered, Karachi Port has been destroyed, the higher officials of Pakistan have been arrested. All this happened while in reality Pakistanis were peacefully sitting in their homes.

PTA released a statement today citing that 16 YouTube news channels, 31 YouTube video links and 32 media sites from India were blocked today in Pakistan for disseminating false news and anti-Paksitan propaganda. This decision was taken in the wake of ongoing regional conflict. Earlier India has also blocked YouTube channels of Pakistan.

Pakistanis are applauding this decision. One user said,”Ban everything.” One added, “We don’t watch any of their content already. Good ban it.” One added, “Also ban their celebrities here.” This is what people said:

Trophy for the third season of Pakistan Super League was unveiled today in Dubai in the presence of the six captains who along with their respective teams will be competing for it from 22nd of February.

The trophy is sponsored by Swarovski and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi thanked them for crafting such a beautiful souvenir.

All the captains spoke on the occasion, with each of them optimistic about lifting it after the landmark final at the National Stadium of Karachi.

PSL has played a very important role in making many new youngsters stars and the latest sensation from the recently held PSL was fastbowler Ihsanullah.

At just the age of 20 years old, Ihsanullah has been giving some very consistent performances and this led to his selection in the national squad. The pacer played against England and now he has entered a new phase in his life.

He just got Nikkahfied at his native village and is now a married man. A video from his Nikkah came out and went viral on the internet. People were congratulating the young star left and right.

Pakistan’s tally for coronavirus is reaching an alarming stage gradually. As of the last count, 184 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country.

Following the outbreak, Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB, has decided to postpone the PSL playoffs that were scheduled to take place.

And that is not only it. According to a recent video and news outbreak, English cricketer, Alex Hales, who went back last week, is showing symptoms of coronavirus. Although Alex hasn’t been tested positive yet, according to Rameez Raja, all broadcasters will be tested now.

Alex Hales played for Karachi Kings during PSL V. As he has shown symptoms of Corona Virus after reaching England, he is currently in self isolation.

Following the news, all broadcasters and cricketers affiliated with PSL will undergo tests of coronavirus in a few hours before departing back to their homes, either within or outside Pakistan.

PSL host Ahmed Godil came under fire after he gave a statement that he was not allowed to play songs of Ali Zafar at PSL opening ceremony. In his interview, he supported Ali Zafar and also said that the harassment case on him was never proved.

After his statement in favor of Ali Zafar, Ahmed Godil has been suspended by PCB. He has released a video and wrote, “Congratulations everybody! Jeet gaye ap log.”

“We have truly failed as a nation! Thank you PCB for this humiliation and not being man enough to own all the faults and mishaps and then telling me not to even clear my stance on the controversy created because of you! Wow, how cool of you!”

Godil said, “Doston, Aj se ek awaz hamesha hamesha ke liye bund hogayi! Allah Hafiz.”

In his video message, Ahmed Godil said, “I am officially not part of PSL and PCB. I have just have one question that this big ceremony was just done by Ahmed Godil?”

He shared, “Blame those who did this. I have become a victim of cyberbullying and when I needed my organization to which I worked for 2-3 years, that same organization has suspended me. Now, the same organization is asking me about my interviews in favor of Ali Zafar. Why shouldn’t I do this?”

“I am an artist, I am a host and Alhamdulillah people have always appreciated me for my work,” PSL host added.

He blamed the organization for not giving him the whole script and not informing him about his performance.

In the end, he requested people to support him in his difficult time as his career is ruined now.

Many high-profile international players like Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright and Tymal Mills skipped the PSL final, which was held in Lahore, due to security concerns. However, foreign players who attended the match were warmly welcomed by the country.

West Indies’ cricketer Marlon Samuels who played for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2 is so impressed with the security arrangements at the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) that he has expressed his desire to join the Pakistani Army.

In a video message posted on Twitter, Peshawar Zalmi star Marlon Samuels said he was “Pakistani at heart” and went as far ‘wishing to join the Pakistan army’.

“For me it’s more than just coming to Pakistan to a play a game of cricket, it is the significance and success of the team and smiles on the faces of the people that are sad,” he said in the video, tweeted by Peshawar Zalmi CEO Javed Afridi.

“I am a Pakistani at heart and that it is why it didn’t take me long to decide to come to Pakistan [to play the PSL final],” he added.

Addressing the Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Samuels said, “General, I’m just waiting for the metals [badges] on my shoulder, I would want to be a part of the Pakistan army.”

He praised the security measures at the recently concluded PSL final. And also thanked his Peshwar Zalmi teammates, saying that it was an honour and he couldn’t have asked for a better team. (q2stadium.com)

“Cricket should definitely come back to Pakistan I will continue to come back to this country till I die,” Samuels added.

Pakistanis are as excited for PSL as a little kid is for ice cream. And the day is finally here and apart from being an enthusiastic sporty night, it is going to a star studded night too.

Sources have confirmed that Ayesha Omar and Ahmed Ali Butt are going to be hosting the closing ceremony.

Despite the day of the match finally being here, people are still divided over whether it is a good idea to host it in Lahore or not.

The sixth edition of Pakistan Super League has been postponed due to rising COVID-19 cases among the players and officials involved in the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Thursday.

“Following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone the Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect, according to the statement. It said that the decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February.

The PCB, as an immediate step, will focus on the safe and secure passage of all participants, and arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities to the six participating sides. PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan will hold a media conference at the National Stadium at 3pm to provide further updates in this regard.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021’s opening ceremony will be staged in Istanbul city in Turkey. A country that shares brotherly relations with Pakistan. Sources said that the singers of this year’s PSL anthem, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunners would fly to Istanbul as well to perform the track live.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), when approached for a comment on the development, neither denied nor confirmed the news. Sources said that the opening ceremony would not be held in National Stadium, where it was staged last year, due to the area being designated as a bio-secure bubble.

The recorded ceremony will be aired on television screens on February 20, sources added. According to NCOC’s announcement, after detailed deliberations with health officials, it has been decided with strict guidelines already issued that 20% of spectators will be allowed for PSL group matches.

The anthem expresses the love of HBL Pakistan Super League among the fans around the world.

The anthem also highlights the aftermath of the corona virus, where stadiums are empty but fans are seen watching matches in front of TV screens in their homes.

Pakistani folk, pop and hip hop singers have participated in the preparation of this anthem. Folk singer Naseebo Lal, pop singer Aima Baig and hip hop star Young Stunners have evoked the magic of their voices in the anthem.

“Once the final of PSL-2 is successfully held in Lahore, the PSL-3 final will be hosted by Karachi.”

Boycott Teefa In Trouble has been in order ever since the harassment allegations against the actor-singer Ali Zafar. The idea behind the boycott is that harassment allegations alone are not enough, naming and shaming alone is not enough, the sexual predators need to be hurt where it hurts them the most and what hurts more than losing money.

Ali Zafar was supposed to be at KFC last night for promotions but when he reached there he was met with protesters chanting “Boycott Teefa In Trouble” instead.

Internet had a field day with Ali Zafar’s picture with the shell shocked expression on his face albeit.

The protest last night was not the end of it, Teefa in Trouble was scheduled to premiere tonight and protesters have gathered outside Nueplex as we speak to protest against Ali Zafar.

Although nothing has been proved against the actor yet the fact remains that he was accused by Meesha Shafi and seven other women. The case is in court right now as Ali Zafar states he will fight this in the court of law and not on social media.

Teefa In Trouble is the most expensive Pakistani movie to date it also happens to be a family project it was co-written by Daniyal Zafar and co-produced by Ayesha Fazli with Ali Zaffar. In the wake of MeToo will Teefa in Trouble do the expected business or not is yet to be seen.
