Real life heroes do exist in real life as proven by a Quetta tanker driver who risked his own life to save others. A video is recently making rounds on social media which shows a braveheart driver Faisal rushing his oil tanker away from the city to save lives after his oil tanker caught fire at a petrol pump in Quetta city. Feroze Khan has been seen doing roles of abusive young men and things got real when his now ex-wife Syeda Aliza Sultan came out with a statement and accused him of physical and emotional abuse throughout their four year marriage. Iqrar-ul-Hassan who showed his full support to Ayesha showed rage in one of his tweets on the mindset of our society. Iqrar called out those people who are saying that Ayesha is characterless and this was all a drama.

As PTA has decided to ban Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile for being addictive and harmful for player’s health.

It is one of the most favourite games of Pakistanis and many people were quite crazy about it.

However, due to a few death incidents because of the game, PTA has banned PUBG temporarily and issued a notice. It says:

“In view of complaints received from different segments of society, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has decided to temporarily suspend the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) game. PTA has received numerous complaints against PUBG wherein it is stated that the game is addictive, wastage of time and poses serious negative impact on physical and psychological health of the children.”

Well, we all know about the history of clashes between Pakistani governments and their institutions happening one way or the other. Pakistan is in a very tight space economically and we need help from the neighbouring countries and friends to come out of this. Since taking the office, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has been trying his best to take the country out of this situation. He has visited some friendly countries and has signed deals to help Pakistan cope with the economic crisis.

In wake of these events, the Prime Minister is in China to sign some deals and help to further strengthen the economy. During his address, the National channel of Pakistan PTV broadcasted his address with Begging written on it instead of Beijing. This was counted as an error as it was aired for some seconds before getting corrected. Now the managing director of PTV has been removed due to this. The decision was approved by the Minister of Information, Fawad Chaudhary. Here is the notice:

PTV is our national institution which is backed by public funds. Every year more than six billion rupees collected from PTV license fee are allocated to PTV but still it lags far behind in the current competitive world.

Despite huge resources, buildings, an army of producers PTV is struggling with financial crisis. Despite injecting billions every year, it is running in a loss of 60 million rupees each year.

Recently MD of PTV appeared before standing committe of senate where he explained the sorry plight of this national institution.

As per Muhammad Maalik who is the Managing Director of PTV, out of the six billion (recieved as TV license fee) 5.25 billions are spent on wages and 40 million are consumed by medical bills. To overcome the deficit PTV is now taking a loan of two billion rupees from commercial banks, while many of its buildings are already mortgaged

PTV has more than six thousand employees. As per Muhammad Maalik, he wants to fire 4990 employees out of these 6000 provided he has the authority to execute the plan. Many of PTV officials are incompetent and cannot check their emails and the national television is running solely by the backing of ALLAH. One centre of PTV has seventy producers whereas it only airs daily programs of two hours. Recently PTV has sacked nearly 80 employees with fake degrees.

The militant organization of Taliban is also causing damages to PTV’s installations in the region of FATA thus resulting in recurring expenses in that region.

This is the one side of the story, on the other side are the employees of PTV who have their own reasons. As per PTV Employees Union, the cause of PTV’s Financial crisis is the high salaries of Managing Director and other high officials. The monthly salary of PTV’s managing director is 3 million (30 laakh) rupees. The MD has hired incompetent producers either on some reference or his own friends. PTV Karachi center has about thirty five producers, who are paid in laaakhs, only for producing commercials for few minutes. on MD’s order PTV is also paying massively to few lawyers regarding the cases against PTV in courts. The employees have announced a series of protests against the Managing Director.

Pakistan Television PTV is coming back in the game but with Turkish dramas and not their own productions. PTV’s dubbed version of Ertugrul was a massive hits and gained huge popularity on television as well as Youtube. Masses were following the stars and many actors from the play visited Pakistan.

The latest offering to follow after Ertugrul’s ending on PTV is Payitaht: Abdülhamid. It will air on PTV soon. Pyitaht Abdulhamid is also named in English The Last Emperor is based on the life of Sultan Abdulhamid II. The drama showcases the last 13 years of his reign and how he fought to keep the Ottoman Empire alive.

Federal Information minister Fawad Chaudhry has made some biggest announcement related to state channel PTV. He has announced to revamp old PTV setups and also confirmed about two mega periods plays in collaboration with Uzbekistan.

The federal minister said that after revamping PTV news, PTV Entertainment ( PTV Home) and PTV sports will also be revamped and these upcoming projects are the continuation of the plan of revamping the channel.

Fawad Chaudhry tweeted, “After Pakistan Television News, PTV is now revamping its sports and entertainment channels . PTV will make a long drama series on Babar and Ghalib in partnership with Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Preliminary preparations have been started in this regard”

The fans got excited to hear about it. After the success of Ertugrul in Pakistan, many producers are rooting for mega period plays now in Pakistan. Humayun Saeed has also collaborated with Turkish producers in this regard. It is to be remembered that Pakistan television has previously made drama serials like Babar, Labbaik and Tipu Sultan which went popular at that time.
