After his amazing performance as a fierce cop in Raees, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is ready with his next which happens to be a biopic. Manto, his upcoming movie, is based on the life and times of Saadat Hassan Manto.

Kenwood’s recent advertisement featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui raised a storm in the teacup. The leaked advertisement stirred up anger over its casual attitude toward domestic violence, forcing the company to apologize.

The ad shows a group of male friends having a laugh over the main character’s (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) story about a fight with his wife. Nawazuddin brags about not tolerating his wife’s “attitude” and resorting to “dhulayi,” which is used as a slang for ‘beating up’.

The actor plans to free himself of all other commitments now that Raees is out. “I will shut myself away from all communication,” he insists.

“I plan to recreate Manto’s world around me. I will have my room re-furnished with the things that Manto lived with. If I enter Manto’s physical world, I feel I can penetrate his mind,” he adds.

Sultan Raahi the legendary name of Punjabi cinema was murdered some eighteen years ago and his murder case is still unsolved. Sultan Raahi’s actor son Haidar Sultan has recently returned form United States and in a press conference reminded current Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of his promise to trial the culprits of this unsolved murder.

Haider revealed when Sultan Raahi was murdered in 1996, Nawaz Sharif (then opposition leader) assured him of justice while visiting him to condole the death of his father. Now he is again in power, so the promise and assurance needs to be fulfilled.

He broke into tears as he shared that he used to run a shop for paintings and at the same time he used to feed his sisters from a bottle and change their nappies. That is when one day Mohsin Gilani Sahab saw him at his shop. He was just 14. He rescued him and took him to a radio station where he started working as an artist.
