Koi Nahin Apna – Episode 1

0

It has been a while since I actually looked forward to a play. The only reason I was interested in finding out more about the play was that it stars Sarwat Gillani; she is one of my most favorite actresses among the younger lot. She is an outstanding actress and most importantly she is one of those exceptional actresses who refused to be typecast. I am already in love with the chemistry that Fahad Mustafa and Sarwat Gillani share on screen only by watching the promos but I must admit that the Big Bang Entertainment doesn’t have much to its credit – I hope that things will be different this time around. The play has been written by Sana Fahad, directed by Badar Mehmood and produced by Big Bang Entertainment (Fahad Mustafa and Dr. Ali Kazmi).

kna1

This first episode was well-paced and the picture quality was superb. It looked more like a film than a drama. Our female protagonist Alvira (Sarwat Gillani) comes from a very rich background, she is romantically involved and pretty much committed to Hamza (Fahad Mustafa) who is her class-fellow. The story starts with both of them finishing off their BBA. Alvira’s parents (Sajjid Hassan and Sabahat Bukhari) want her to marry a family friend’s son who is as well off as they are. Alvira tells her mother straight away that she is not interested because she loves someone else. Alvira is very confident about her feelings and her future with Hamza but Hamza has his reservations because of his status. Alvira was brought up in a very affluent household but she is not the least bit materialistic. Hamza loves her for who she is and does not measure her worth based on how much wealth her father has.

kna2

I must say that the first few scenes confused me. One minute Alvira walked in the house declaring that her papers had ended and the other minute she was applying for MBA. It seemed like Hamza found a job a little too soon, I just couldn’t make out how much time had elapsed since they graduated. Hamza’s mother (Ismat Zaidi) was quite happy with his choice once she found out that the girl was rich, it remains to be seen how Alvira’s father will react. I get the feeling that there will be a completely filmy scene when Hamza goes to meet him in the next episode.

kna3

Sabahat Bukhari should have gone easy on the western outfits; you can look stylish, chic and modern wearing age appropriate dresses too. Hina Bayat does it all the time, it would be nice if others could follow her example too. The diamond gift that Zaka gave Alvira was definitely OTT! The story isn’t new; rich girl falls in love with a middle class boy and the problems they face later on but Fahad Mustafa and Sarwat Gillani might save the day. I am also waiting to find out what Sana Fahad has ins tore for the viewers. Their characters are very likeable and they definitely look great together. The play isn’t overcrowded with side characters and the director didn’t take ages to introduce us to the characters. The party scene was very nicely done, talk about paying attention to detail! It had to be the most visually pleasing scene in the entire episode. The facebook page of the drama is promoting it in a very good manner and the admins are doing a great job of keeping the page active.

Good News: We will be watching the 2nd last episode of Shukk this week, hurray:)

Koi Nahi Apna Will Be Fahad Mustafa’s Last Drama

0

Fahad Mustafa has ruled the Pakistani television screen for many years. He has played some unforgettable roles in dramas like Mein Abdul Qadir Hoon, Mastana Mahi, Lahasil, Kankar and now in Koi Nahi Apna. Many people are appreciating Fahad Mustafa’s acting in his home production Koi Nahi Apna but what they don’t know is that this will be the last time when they will be watching Fahad Mustafa in a drama.

Untitled1

Fahad Mustafa’s publicist has said “Fahad will not be acting in dramas anymore and would rather be involved in producing them. His focus now will be acting for feature films.” Fahad Mustafa will now be seen acting on the big screen only, he also wants to concentrate on his production house. It remains to be seen if he will continue hosting the shows which he is already hosting or not but guessing from his decision one can safely say that he intends to say goodbye to the small screen forever.

Untitled

Fahad Mustafa is not the only actor who has left acting in dramas so that he can concentrate on making drama. Asif Raza Mir is one such actor who is hardly seen in dramas now because he wants to concentrate on making dramas.

We wish Fahad Mustafa all the success for his future endeavors.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 7

When I watched the promo for this episode, I was quite sure that this will probably be the episode which will make me feel for and connect to Alvira’s character more than ever. There were some parts which did make me feel for her but I must confess that even after watching what Hamza did to Alvira, I still feel that Hamza has a lot to deal with. Ever since he got married to Alvira, he has been busy pleasing either his wife or his mother. Hamza most certainly should not have hit Alvira and it is plain to see that Hamza and Alvira’s marital problems are taking a toll on little Shiza.

k1

Zainab was obviously talking only out of her own personal experience when she said that it was perfectly normal for a man to hit his wife, that is most certainly not the case! Most marital couples have arguments all the time and it is not normal for a man to hit his wife. Alvira is finding it impossible to forgive Hamza this time around and Hamza does not have the time to “make up” for what he did. After watching tonight’s episode, I really felt like Alvira and Hamza’s relationship has come to that point now when little gestures cannot rescue it. This episode was much more real than the last few episodes because like I said in my last review that when there are so many issues in a house, they tend to escalate rather quickly. The issues in Hamza and Alvira’s marriage took time to escalate but what we saw today was a much more believable turn of events, with the exception of the slap of course!

k2

Maheen Rizvi’s character was introduced in the play tonight. She is Hamza’s co-worker who notices that Hamza has been worried lately. While Alvira vents out her frustrations by talking to Zainab, Hamza has no one talk to. I would not be surprised at all if Hamza starts putting his trust in Maheen’s character.

k3

Alvira’s father is so busy proving that he was right all along that he does not really care about what his daughter is going through. He is sitting pretty waiting for the time when Alvira will come back home after being utterly disappointed with Hamza.

The story is finally moving forward but is it taking off just yet? I think not! The child star playing Shiza is beyond adorable and I love her confidence. I feel for poor Hamza still, I wonder if everyone else who is watching the play feels the same way too.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 6

Like I said last time, not much has changed between Alvira and Hamza in all these years. Hamza has been working day and night to make a career but Alvira still cannot afford a full time maid! To add to her troubles, she is expecting again. Hamza’s character is taking a turn for the worse too. His reaction towards Alvira’s pregnancy was disappointing and the way he snubbed Zainab was totally uncalled for. I am equally disappointed with Alvira who does not think twice before sharing her marriage woes in front of her six year old daughter. I found Shiza’s attitude towards her father very strange and definitely a result of learned behavior because I know for a fact that children love their fathers and look up to them even if they don’t spend enough time with them. Teenagers may have these issues but definitely not a six year old! Shiza is another Alvira in the making so Hamza be warned!

kna1

All the episodes after Alvira and Hamza’s marriage have followed a pattern. There is a scene or two of happy times – when Hamza takes Alvira out, makes her bed tea or brings her flowers. Then there is always a scene in which Hamza or Alvira are upset because Hamza’s mother spends too many days at her sister’s house. I am glad that she has someone to visit and is not overly dependent on her son. Alvira’s mother in law’s attitude is very wrong indeed but the fact that Alvira gives her a shut-up call every time she tells her off more than makes up for it. There are plenty of scenes in which Alvira is complaining about her troubles in every episode. We have never seen Alvira saying anything nice to Hamza. There is hardly a time when she appreciated the poor man.

kna2

I think all the wives out there who are quite happy with spending a few hours of quality time in the day with their busy husbands should question their sanity after watching this show! When these petty issues start becoming a real problem in marriage then they escalate in to something big in only a few years. In the given circumstances, I am surprised that Hamza and Alvira are still together. Alvira could have started working after Shiza started school but I guess whining is a lot more fun than looking for solutions!

kna3

Honestly speaking I am sick and tired of listening to Alvira’s constant rants and I am equally tired of watching the same scenes over and over again! This episode did not even deserve to be reviewed. The lack of imagination and creativity in the script and direction is putting me to sleep. I expected better from Fahad Mustafa’s production house and also from Sarwat Gillani because she has always been so wise while choosing the projects she works in.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 5

Guess what? Alvira’s father may be stubborn, egoistic and a little unreasonable but he still loves his little girl. I must say that I was expecting much more love from him for an akloti aulad but we will have to do with this much for now. I was also expecting Alvira to take two steps forward and maybe call her father but she sent a message saying thank you to him through her mother. Yes, I agree everything in the drama is very real, it is almost as if my own life is playing there but something is just not right. Every episode is like a few more days, weeks, months and now years in Alvira’s life but nothing changes. I agree Alvira, your life really is monotonous, it is putting me to sleep as well!

kna1

Every woman wants to spend quality time with her spouse but most of the husbands who are struggling to make a career are exactly like Hamza. The wives have to be patient and steal that quality time out of a very hectic routine and make the most of it. “My husband doesn’t give me time” is every second woman’s complain but does it destroy their marriage? Most often not. Couples who truly love each other find a common ground and live happily ever after. Life is not a fairytale and married life is much more than a never ending honey moon. Once you have children, money is important, if not in abundance then definitely in a decent amount. Good education costs a lot right from day one and if the husband doesn’t sweat himself then in this time and age he will probably end up getting fired!

kna3

Hamza and Alvira’s life went from being picture perfect in this episode to being stuck in a rut all over again. There are times when every couple feels like they maybe living in the same house but they are not spending enough time together but like I said it is not that big an issue! Spending a few hours every week can sometimes make up for it. I am still finding it hard to relate to Alvira’s problem – yes life after marriage is like that only!! She should count her blessings; she has a husband who loves her and does whatever he can to keep her happy. He isn’t earning so that he can go on a holiday but he is doing it so that he can give his wife and daughter a better life.

Zainab’s (Salma Hassan) character was introduced in the play today. She has just moved in next to Alvira’s house and the two of them have become really good friends. Whenever they sit down together Alvira complains about how dull her life is with the exception of one scene (thank fully) in which she gives Hamza some credit for all his hard work. Zainab and Alvira’s friendship reminded me of Silla and Zoya’s friendship in Dil-e-Muzter.

kna2

The viewers are taken 6 years ahead at the end of the episode and the one scene which is shown goes to show that nothing has changed in Alvira’s life. I am wondering where the story is going to go from here because for now it is going around in circles. All the actors are doing a decent job but the drama isn’t quite taking off.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 4

0

Hamza! Don’t you get the message? Alvira does not want expensive gifts she wants your time!!! Alvira and Hamza’s marital problems have old and boring written all over them. Hamza is too busy and Alvira feels ignored. The script of the play lacks depth and novelty. It is a story that has been done-to-death and the treatment is run-of-the-mill too. Alvira and Hamza don’t have any compatibility issues but the only “issue” is that Hamza has to give his career more time because his professional life has just started, which in my opinion is understandable. He also feels obligated to provide Alvira with a certain lifestyle because of her background. Alvira is well educated, she could also work, that would have kept her busy and both of them could save money. I hate to see an educated girl sitting at home waiting for her husband to come back home when she could be doing something more useful with her life!! I hate to say this but Alvira’s problems came across as self created for most part of the episode. I am sure her mother in law could do the household chores or she could have hired a maid out of the money she earned!

kna3

There were no fireworks when Alvira met her mother after a long time; I expected a little more excitement and emotions. The restaurant they went to looked like a college canteen and the same place was used to shoot Alvira and Hamza’s anniversary dinner scene. The director did not put in enough effort to shoot these scenes in appropriate locations. Sometimes I feel like the producers did not invest much in the play or the director has his hands full with too many projects which he has to look after. Like I said in my last review, the feel of the drama is monotonous and dull because of the usual locations we see every week. Alvira and her mother never talked about ways to reconcile things so that Alvira could be in touch with her parents again but it was good to see Alvira’s mother trying to convince her father to “forgive” her later on. I must say though that Alvira’s mother’s concern for her seemed fake primarily because of the over acting.

kna5

The roothna/manana looked really cute in the promos but watching Hamza make tea and breakfast all the time makes it look like a “Here Is Your Ideal Husband” commercial! All through this episode I was waiting for Hamza’s mother to make an appearance in these 6 months that passed in the first half of this episode but she was nowhere to be seen! Alvira was expecting 6 months back too but she didn’t look any different on the anniversary.

kna1

Honestly speaking I felt for Hamza more than Alvira in tonight’s episode and I must say that this is the only aspect of the play which I like. For a change I can actually relate to the difficulties the male protagonist is going through in a marriage. I wonder if this was intentional or maybe I am the only one who is looking at the story in this way. I hate to say this but Alvira’s complains are really childish – understandable yet childish! “I am pregnant, don’t mess with me” says it all! I expected Alvira to call her mother when she did not get through to Hamza but somehow she didn’t. How can a girl not think of her mother in such a time? Doesn’t Alvira have any friends? What is life without family! A girl should never expect her husband to make up for the absence of her parents, that is definitely one thing all girls should know! There were times when Sarwat Gillani actually disappointed me with her acting in this latest episode.

kna2

Overall this latest episode was fast paced as usual but there were barely any scenes that clicked with me. I was hoping that Fahad Mustafa and Sarwat Gillani’s chemistry will win me over but the script and the direction is so average that nothing seems to be standing out at the moment.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 3

0

This was a very fast paced episode which made me wonder if the writer intends to wrap the play up in 5 episodes! If the play continues to move ahead with the same pace then I have no issues at all but if the story doesn’t have enough to offer then there is enough room to take it easy at the moment. Hamza and Alvira got married in tonight’s episode, six months passed in a jiffy, Alvira is pregnant and the problems between Alvira and her mother in law do not escalate much. Alvira’s parents do not get in touch with her at all and Alvira doesn’t attempt to make one phone call even.

kna1

I must say that there were many things about this episode which seemed very unrealistic. First of all in this day and age everyone has a UPS if not a generator. Secondly, the way Hamza handled the problems his mother had with Alvira was very unconvincing . How can you not take these things seriously when you are living in the same house! Such issues are very serious and you cannot brush them under the carpet just like that! Alvira also put up with all that her saas had to say with a smile – yes she complained every now and then but her overall approach towards her mother in law’s attitude was actually very unbelievable. I wish that more girls can be like that but seriously is it really possible? The fact that Alvira’s mother never tried to get in touch with her and Alvira did not even call her parents was also very unbelievable for me.

kna2

I am all for a fast narrative but I felt like I couldn’t enjoy every moment in the newly weds life the way I would have wanted to. The marriage ceremony wasn’t shown properly either. We didn’t see Alvira and Hamza outside of the house even once because of which I felt like there was no novelty in the scenes. Almost all the scenes were shot in the house, I actually felt suffocated watching Alvira spend her entire married life till now in that house! I would have liked to see Alvira and Hamza together on the bike and in restaurants maybe! I felt like we were being rushed into the future without being given a chance to know the dynamics between Hamza and Alvira’s relationship better. Yes, everything seemed too good to be true. I must sound like a sadist who wants to see the characters in the play having never-ending issues with each other but I think a balance should have been maintained to make the happenings more relatable.

kna8

I liked the way Hamza’s mother turned to green cardamom to calm her nerves, that was brand new! Some of the scenes between Hamza and his mother were really well done. i felt for Hamza at times because he was trying so hard to keep his wife and mother happy at the same time. There were other times when i felt like Hamza and Alvira were living in a vacuum. The good thing about this play is that it is not overcrowded with characters but unlike the last two episodes I found it a bit hard to connect to Hamza and Alvira’s relationship because of the fast paced narrative.

Koi Nahi Apna – Episode 2

0

I must say that this episode had “been there seen that” written all over it. The direction in which the story moved forward was quite predictable and I was reminded of Dil-e-Muzter while watching the play. The circumstances are completely different but the way Alvira’s father reacted reminded me of Silla’s father in Dil-e-Muzter. There were also times when the story seemed like a mixed version of some of the Tarang telefilms put together. The good thing was that Sajjid Hassan’s character is much more subtle than many of the rigid and unreasonable fathers we see on screen nowadays. Sarwat Gillani was superb in the scene when she calls Hamza to tell him that her father wanted to meet him. I really like Alvira’s relationship with her parents; she is very open about her feelings with them just like a “princess” should be! Alvira had faith that her father will understand her feelings for Hamza but Hamza had his reservations right from the start. The happenings in tonight’s episode were very filmy but they were presented in a non dramatic manner.

kna1

Alvira’s father like many other rich fathers thinks that Hamza is after Alvira’s money and offers a deal – yes absolutely nothing new there. We all know already that Hamza is not after Alvira’s money so his reaction did not come as a surprise either. Alvira’s mother watched the entire drama unfold without uttering a word. One would think that someone as modern as her would have a little more say in the house. It would have been nicer if Alvira’s mother could have discussed matters with her too because they did seem like they were very close. Alvira’s father is out to make a point and he doesn’t care about his daughter’s feelings.

kna2

Our hero did not turn into a lost soul after Alvira’s father’s proposal, that was definitely good to watch. He has faith in his relationship with Alvira and also in himself. Hamza’s mother of course is more interested in what her daughter in law will be bringing with her in jahez. She is going to be very disappointed when she finds out that Alvira’s parents are not going to support her in any way. Mujhe tu larki baghair dekhe hi pasand aa gaye dialogue was funny.

kna3

I don’t like the way the cigar is being used as a prop for no good reason. I am sure that Alvira’s father’s character could have looked “elitist” even without it. I appreciate the fact that there is a warning that smoking is injurious to health every time dad makes his appearance with the cigar but was it really needed? Somehow I am finding it hard to take Sajjid Hassan’s character seriously. The direction of the play, its picture quality and the chemistry between the main leads is standing out more than the script at this point. This is only the beginning of course, we will only know in the next four episodes or so if the story has something new to offer or not. The characters of the main protagonists are very likeable too. They are normal people with no complexes, issues or a baggage. I think Fahad Mustafa owns his role as Hamza, he is doing really well.

As it turns out the coming episode of Shukk is the second last one even though it was advertised on the channel and the FB page that the next episode will be the last one. Talk about using cheap tactics to get viewership!

Koi Chand Rakh Last Episode – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – Good Ending:

Ohkay so, this episode marked the end of Koi Chand Rakh & I am glad that it ended on this note, which obviously is the first time to have happened in any Pakistani drama in recent times. I am glad that in Koi Chand Rakh, the so-called hero didn’t get away with everything & had things his way, rather it was the heroine who made the decision for herself by ditching the ungrateful hero who never really saw her for who she was.

Rabail Chose Her Own Path:

Everyone continued to make Nishal understand that she still had a chance to reverse things & bring her life on track but I guess she wanted to keep a heavy-hand on the negativity, just exactly like how she had on her makeup. Zain had pretty much made up his mind that he wanted to lead a ‘happy’ life with Rabail being his wife who’ll sit on a front seat & Nishal could choose to sit next to Ujala at the back seat if she’d like but oh well, things didn’t go accordingly. Zain had a proper plan & he was so sure of being welcomed by Rabail that he actually put in a lot of effort in his dressing but too bad, Rabail didn’t even pay heed to all of that & his green trousers changed with the change of his location too.

When Zain left Rabail for Nishal, Rabail actually didn’t really know if she’ll be able to survive without his support, without having a husband by her side but after she was left alone, Rabail got to know what she was capable of. Zain’s betrayal actually was as a blessing in disguise for Rabail because it let her know of her potential. This testing phase made Rabail realize that she was better off without a husband like Zain who tossed her aside & treated her like a doormat. It was because of all that Rabail went through that she realized who was loyal to her & who wasn’t. It was like after being pushed to the limit, Rabail found her strength in herself as well as her daughter. Rabail went through a lot, she practically raised her child without anyone’s support so it was enough for Rabail to have this faith in herself that she will do right by Ujala in the future too. Rabail took the right decision by choosing to part ways with Zain, it was like Rabail could not forgive Zain for betraying & mistreating her. Rabail knew that she didn’t deserve what Zain put her through therefore she decided to move on & never look back. I am glad that we finally got to see a hero meeting this end where the self-sufficent & independent heroine took this decision & chose not to settle for a guy who came back only after exploring his options. It was good to see this kind of a decision being taken by the female lead where she put her self-respect ahead of everything else.

Zain & Nishal chose to live engulfed in their own miseries whereas Rabail finally acknowledged Umair’s feelings & decided to spend her life with him. Even though the confession scene was done well, I wish they had written some better dialogues because as usual Rabail’s philosophy was too much to grasp & mostly didn’t even really make sense. Umair’s reaction when he finally saw his dream coming true was actually very sweet. Umair’s persistence, his innocence as well as his loyalty finally convinced Rabail that he actually loved her like no one ever could & just how she deserved to be loved.

Closing Thoughts – Director Failed Big Time:

Koi Chand Rakh could’ve been far better if the director had a better approach & vision for elaborating this story. Rabail’s character was the backbone of this drama but the director didn’t really get the best of it & failed to extract it to the best of its potential. This kind of script definitely needed a lot more detailed approach in direction but the director failed to do that. It seems the entire creative team especially the director heavily relied on the star power of Imran Abbas & Ayeza Khan because of which they & he failed to do their job seriously. It was like the director knew that the viewers will be in an awe of Imran & Ayeza therefore they will ignore all of the things wrong with this drama. Yes, I am sure a lot of hard work must have gone into making Koi Chand Rakh but it should have been a team effort no matter how big of a star cast they had to play these characters. When Umair heard that Zain had come to take Rabail with him, he left all disappointed & upset but in the next scene, he stood there enjoying the rain with a goofy smile on his face, that too when he had no idea that Rabail had ditched Zain & she was going to accept his feelings. These are the little details that made this drama poor in execution because the director did not pay attention to detail.

The last episode made me realize that I enjoyed the untimely sound of thunderstorms more than an OST sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. I am actually glad that the editors decided to use the thunderstorms in the background in stead of the OST in this episode. I wish that the next time we see Imran Abbas & Ayeza Khan together or on their own in any project, they will impress us & give us a memorable drama. I guess it’s about time that such big stars should stop working in such mediocre dramas. Muneeb Butt definitely outbid everyone else & he performed brilliantly. He made Umair’s character the best part about Koi Chand Rakh. Well, Areeba Habib, the less said the better but yes, I do feel she’s in a dire need of a sincere advice so I’ll hand it to her, girl, I’m sure by now you know that you need acting skills to be a good actress & not layers & layers of poorly done makeup, so yes, work on it. Ayeza Khan did a good job overall & Imran Abbas seemed to be struggling throughout this journey. It was like “Imran Abbas as never seen before” because I don’t remember him giving such an average performance in any drama. He deserves so much better so I guess it’s about time Imran Abbas starts making good choices because his fans expect a lot better from him. Even though I am glad that the writer showed Rabail choosing the path of her life on her own & I enjoyed seeing Rabail & Umair having a good time but I guess no one else will say it so I’ll do the honors; sorry to be bursting the bubble here Rabail, atkeliyan to kar lin but Iddat abbhi baqi hai meri dost. Koi Chand Rakh Episode 9 Story Review – The Wedding

Opening Thoughts:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was alright. It focused more & more on the mental state of all the characters because each & everyone had one thing or the other on their minds. I wonder if this marriage was only bringing sweats & tears with it, why did they all go ahead with it anyway?

Developments:

As I mentioned last week, Ibrar finding the truth about Nishal & Zain won’t make any difference & he proved me right. Ibrar was engrossed in his thoughts but didn’t even bother having a conversation with Zain. Was Ibrar feeling sad for his son or was he again feeling this sense of pride of that his son respected the promise he made to his friend – that is still a mystery. Also, I am sure Ibrar’s character couldn’t have taken a more typical turn than to have a heart attack as suggested in the precap of next episode of Koi Chand Rakh!!! Yeah right! Ibrar again had the power to stop it all but he chose to become a silent spectator because he didn’t have the courage to explain the truth to those 20 baraati!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 9 Story Review - The Wedding

Rabail again spoke to Umair wanting him to take care of his family & coming to terms with the reality. Umair has loved Rabail with all his heart & it is nice to see him respecting everything she says. Obviously it will take time for him to get over & move on but attending the wedding & seeing Rabail go marked a new beginning for him as well. Rabail’s character is the only one in Koi Chand Rakh so far that has been written with clarity & the writer has made her reasons detailed, that is why it is easy to understand & feel for her whereas other characters, excluding Umair, just seem to be reacting without a reason as I haven’t formed a connection with them.

Zain was upset, he was struggling, even though he was putting up a facade in front of Nishal to let her know that he doesn’t care but deep inside he was hurt with the step he was about to take. To be honest, even though enough focus was given to show the rollercoaster ride of emotions that all these characters were going through, I felt a lot more for Rabail & Umair than I did for Nishal & Zain because their falling in love like instant 2 minute noodle was not that convincing for me to feel that they were faced with a biggest hardship in their lives!

Zain & Rabail had a first interaction where Rabail tried to make some promises & Zain showed her his real face. Zain will continue to compare Rabail with Nishal all the time & that is why he chose to walk away from her as he couldn’t get Nishal out of his mind. Again, my point remains, if he had mustered up some courage before, to beshak ye drama na banta lekin ye sab bhi na hota, lol!

Closing Thoughts:

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was alright & there was not much that was shown because a lot of focus was on rona dhona again. The only good thing about this episode was that we didn’t get to see much of Nishal as she was hovering in the background. Anyways, the preview of the next episode did seem typical but interesting, I say typical because after seeing his father’s condition, Zain will have to deal with Rabail in a civil manner, let’s see how things roll. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 8 Story Review – Boring!

Opening Thoughts:

Ohkay so, there was nothing new in this episode of Koi Chand Rakh but then after all these episodes I am left wondering if there’s going to be anything new in this story at all? This episode once again ended on a sarcasm directed by Nishaal towards Zain & once again I had to roll my eyes hard. Can we move on please? It is no fun watching this girl getting so much screen-time!

Developments (If Any):

Rabail had to face Umair again & because of him, she had to face this undue criticism which she does not deserve. It is funny that despite seeing how stubborn Umair is, Nafeesa still believes that everything they are going through is because of Rabail. Rabail is getting married only to get rid of Umair & go away out of their lives but still she is getting blamed. It is good that at least Asad is the voice of reason in this mad house where he clearly told Nafeesa & Nishaal that they should not blame Rabail as it is Umair who has lost his sense of right & wrong. Nishaal has become Zain ke pyaar mai andhi because of which she has harbored so much hatred in her heart against Rabail, the girl she has spent her entire life with. This girl has some serious loyalty issues I tell you!

The entire scene of Umair setting his room on fire would’ve been intense if in the background the guy was not making a video of this whole dramatic situation. I couldn’t stop noticing & laughing at his presence that is why I lost focus on what Rabail was saying to Umair or how much acting they were trying to extract there. I am sure sooner or later this video will make it Zain only to ruin Rabail’s life further.

Nishal once again hovered around Zain like a hyena telling him how wrong he was & what he was going to miss by not getting married to her. I am sure even if Zain would want to get settled with Rabail, Nishaal won’t let that happen because she will continue to haunt him like a churail! Abrar’s presence in that scene was not going to serve any purpose I am sure because later he will continue to say how proud he is of Zain that he put his father’s feelings ahead of his own. *face palm*

Closing Thoughts:

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was boring to say the least. I am done with this rona dhona & want to see something different, something other than this continuous depressed look on everyone’s face. The only happy face in this drama is of Zia but his character is so pathetically written & acted that even as a supporting character, he is an eyesore. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 7 Story Review – Uninteresting!

Opening Thoughts:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was alright. I really feel that even though things are moving forward, the events that are being shown right now seem boring & repetitive. I want to see a shift in the story, something that does not revolve around Nishaal’s blush-on & Zain’s anger pangs!

Progress in The Episode:

This episode of Koi Chand Rakh focused on Rabail & Zain’s wedding & its preparations. Asad could see that Umair was getting out of control therefore he used Nafeesa’s health as an excuse to arrange the wedding as soon as possible. So far I used to think that Nafeesa & Nishaal were manipulative but Asad Uncle bhi kuch kam nahi. Obviously he doesn’t want Umair to cause harm to Rabail’s relationship but then again, he also did some harmless plotting!

Rabail made promises to Umair only to shape his life but everything went down the drain as Umair wasn’t even interested in getting educated anymore. He was only pursuing education because he wanted to do something to please Rabail & grow a step closer to her but now when she is not to going to be there & as per him, she has stabbed him in the back, he doesn’t see any reason behind doing what Rabail likes.

CYMERA_20180915_014458

To be honest I found Nishaal & Zain’s conversations challenging each other quite overdone & uninteresting. To me they both look like immature individuals who had no courage to back their feelings & take a stand for each other but are now only trying to prove a point that they are better off & better than one another! Again, the focus on Nishaal’s beauty that too when she was shown relying heavily on makeup seemed pointless & shallow. Also, things that Nafeesa said to Nishaal about rishton ki line was as cringey as it could get. I wish this aspect was executed a bit better but I think the actor playing the role of Nishaal has a lot to do with it not being as convincing as it should & could have been.

CYMERA_20180915_014607

Rabail liked Zain as she got to learn more about him. It is unfortunate that a girl like Rabail is going to have her life destroyed because of two pathetically selfish & gutless people – Zain & Nishaal because if they both had found courage to let their parents know what they feel for each other, Rabail’s life wouldn’t get ruined. It was sad that Rabail was assuming that Zain was all that he was claiming to be but in reality, he was only saying everything to upset Nishaal. Zain was just putting up an act & Rabail so does not deserve this.

In this entire situation, Zain’s friends’ inclusion was the funniest thing ever. He was like one of those unwanted guests who are clingy & serve no purpose at all. Also, Sobia’s claim that Zia BHAI was so handsome but she not paying heed to it before was cringe x infinity. Also, I felt pity so much that my eyes got teary when after being literally assaulted by Zain, Zia immediately remembered & let Sobia know that his MAMA must be waiting for him, I mean that was such an awwwwwww wala moment. I am sure after being mistreated by his friend like that, Zia must have cried resting his head in his mother’s lap. Also yes, Sobia’s focus on everyone’s outer beauty is quite pathetic & shallow, I mean she was ready to make tea for Zia Bhai because she found him handsome – toot toot toot…signal lost!

Closing Thoughts:

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh wasn’t that enjoyable may be because the chunk of it was dedicated to Nishaal & Zain’s selfishness. Other than that the direction of this drama is decent & so is everyone’s acting. Let’s see how things roll. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 6 – Review Story!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was alright. I felt that way because none of the scenarios shown in this episode were interesting. It was a basic sort of an episode elaborating different mind-sets of different characters!

Rabail is forced to bear the brunt of everything that is wrong in Niazi house. Just because Umair has fallen in love with Rabail, she is responsible even when she never once reciprocated his love. Just because Rabail has gotten married to Zain, Nishaal is again playing mind games with her, holding her responsible for getting ditched by Zain. Nafeesa knows that Rabail lied to Umair only to send him away, still she is blaming her & making it look like everything’s her fault. In the middle of this, at least Asad sympathized with Rabail & saw her for who she is but then, he is also getting pressurized from his wife & daughter who are using Umair to malign his heart against Rabail.

Nishal is shady. She blamed Rabail for everything wrong in front of her father but later when she immediately remembered that there was this guy named Zain who she fell in love with, she decided to sweet talk Rabail into getting divorced from him? It is funny as well as cringe-worthy to see a character like Nishal who has zero self-respect. At first she says she has this invisible queue of guys waiting for her but then, like a sore loser she is chasing after the guy who clearly dumped her & is focusing on his relation with his wife chalo usay jealous karne ke liye hi sahi! Nishal poses to be quite upfront & stuff but then, she is being manipulative right from the beginning to not look too despo, that she is after Zain, who is already married or was getting married to her cousin. If Nishal had gathered up the courage before, she wouldn’t have been in the need to play these dirty tricks!

Rabail & Zain had their 1st meeting & Zain found out that he & Rabail were poles apart. Zain went back from being ‘khandaan ki khushi ka muhafiz’ to ‘khandaan ke sir dard ka bais’. The way Zain spoke to his parents & then his sister made me think again that he was never really emotionally attached to his family so not sure why didn’t he take a stand for Nishal if he was so dying to be with her. It is unconvincing that a stubborn guy like Zain gave in & got married to Rabail just so easily! The dialogue ‘Nishal is pretty but Rabail is a doctor’ was another cringey thing in this episode. They should have hired some ordinary looking girl to play the role of Rabail if they actually wanted to highlight Nishal as this beauty queen because I as a viewer am not blind enough to not see that Ayeza is way prettier, like that’s a known fact, a done deal whereas Nishal…the less said the better. Also, it is so funny that while Rabail is somewhat approved by everyone else because she’s hmmm mehhh just a doctor, Nishal is drooled-over because she is PRETTTTAAAAYYYYYY…like really, what is being implied in this drama that being pretty is better than being a doctor? Someone’s beauty has an edge over someone else’s qualification? To kya hua aggar wo doctor hai, bahu to hamain lambi gori chahiye, is this the notion that is being promoted here? Seriously!

Well well well ‘Mai teri dushman, dushman tu mera, mai nagin tu sapaira’ conversation was the highlight of this episode for me because hilarious & I was in a laughter fit. I mean who in this day & age calls himself a sapaira & his lady love a nagin? Who speaks about playing been to hypnotize nagins with his looks? Tauba, I mean whoever came up with those dialogues deserves 21 topon ki salami, hmmm multiply that by 2 so make it 42 because you really need a whole new level of intelligence to come up with something like this. I wonder how many takes Imran Abbas must’ve given while delivering those funny dialogues, matlab hasi to ai hogi for sure!

Anyways, not that Nishal has any self-respect but she proved that her self-respect died dog wali maut when after Zain told her to go to hell, she was like aa rahay ho na dinner pe? Hmmm matlab thori si bhi self-respect nahi? The preview proved my point further, Nishal is curbing her self-respect to prove to Zain that he will be miserable without her but then I am waiting for that time when Zain will fall for Rabail & Nishal will realize that the joke was on her! LOL!

There were quite a few mistakes that I noticed, like Nishal calling Umair as Zain in the opening scene. Rabail & Zain left the house in daylight but when Rabail asks him in the car ‘hum kahan ja rahay hain’ tab tak raat ho chuki thi. Rabail didn’t get to change her clothes but Umair changed his city, chalo I will give it to him that Islamabad is 2 hours flight away from Karachi but still airport ana jana & stuff? Anyways, please share your thoughts!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 5 Review – Intense!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh belonged to Muneeb Butt. He definitely deserves a round of applause for such a phenomenal acting. Muneeb Butt has given Umair’s character his all & that is why every single emotion was coming through. While watching this episode I kept on looking forward to Muneeb Butt’s scenes because I couldn’t wait to find out what Umair’s reaction is going to be. It shows that when an actor owns the character, this is how his performance touches the hearts of viewers.

Rabail made it very clear to Nishaal that she was only getting married to Zain because she wanted to go out of Umair’s life. Nishaal tried to convince Rabail & she thought she will be able to bring Rabail to call it quits but she was mistaken. Rabail is not a quitter, also, she is someone who has never had a say in anything related to her life that is why she was not keen on choosing her life partner too. Rabail knows that her uncle & his entire family has done so many favours to her, so she is in no position to go against their wishes. While watching that scene, all I could think of was how superior Rabail was & how petty Nishaal was who only for her selfish reasons was trying to use Rabail. If Nishaal realized that Zain was not going to do anything for her, she should have taken a stand for the sake of her love for him but she continued to invest her time in manipulating people rather than approaching the matter directly because that would’ve yielded some results but that did not happen! Nishal claimed that she fell in love with Zain hard but then she didn’t do anything for him either because even if Zain was bound by the commitment he made to his father, Nishaal was free to present the truth in front of everyone. It is like Nishaal wanted a piece of cake without doing anything for it, well glad she couldn’t have things her way & continued to sulk in the corner with a face full of makeup!

Well, Umair came to Karachi & found out about what Rabail did & that’s when the episode became super interesting for me. Umair’s outburst was realistic & justified because he couldn’t actually believe what he had just seen. The same Rabail who he had trusted all his life was the one shattering it for the rest of it. Umair didn’t even think what his father’s reaction would be that is why he just confessed in front of him too that he loved Rabail with all his heart. Obviously Umair’s father could not even believe what he had just heard because for him Rabail was like a sister to both Umair & Nishaal. It is unfortunate that Nafeesa continues to hold Rabail responsible for whatever is happening -somehow this typical Mami vibe does not go with the actress playing the role of Nafeesa because she is too cool & elegant for it. I laughed when Nishaal supported her mother’s claims, lol, I mean a guy just dumped you because of your pathetic mistake & even bigger ego & there you are holding Rabail responsible for everything, lol – sulk girl sulk!

Well the ending note of this episode was nothing special, it just covered the mental state of both Zain & Rabail where they were just heart broken for different reasons. Zain felt trapped & helpless & Rabail felt burdened thinking about Umair. Rabail thinks she’ll be freed from the love of Umair that made her feel caged but it is unfortunate that she will be walking in another cage where finding a way out won’t be an option. Let’s see!

All the actors definitely are doing a great job but Muneeb Butt stole the show. Really looking forward to the remaining journey of Umair & how he will pick up the pieces. The drama surely has kick-started, let’s hope it doesn’t slow down too much & lose the pace completely. The only thing I found odd was how after receiving a call about best friend’s father’s death, Umair completely forgot about it & saw it as an opportunity to meet Rabail & was too excited & happy about it, because in reality, no one forgets about someone’s death in a couple of seconds – just my observation! Please share your thoughts.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 4 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was strictly alright but then I am glad that they didn’t really drag Nishal-Zain track & got done with it in this episode. I used the word alright for this episode because as much as I wanted to, I didn’t see the depth in the situation which both Nishal & Zain were facing because I feel not enough time was given to establish their feelings to an extent that I as a viewer could feel the gravity of the situation!

Zain got to know who Rabail actually was & Nishaal also found out that Rabail was getting married to the guy she just fell in love it. Zain wanted to do something about it after he heard from Nishaal but then I really didn’t get how & when did Nishaal fall in love with Zain so much that she just couldn’t wait to get married to him? It seemed like she couldn’t accept the fact that the guy who was chasing her could belong to someone else so she just wanted him for the sake of it. Zain also solely held Nishaal responsible for the misunderstanding but then he himself didn’t do his part of research but yes, it can be given to him that Nishaal kept on fooling him & kept him under the impression that she was Dr. Rabail, so his reaction was somewhat justified!

To be honest, Zain’s excuse of not wanting to snatch away his family’s happiness would’ve seemed plausible if in the initial episodes they had shown him sharing a very very strong bond with his parents. Zain clearly told Nishaal that he didn’t want to disappoint his family because of her & all of a sudden I wondered when did this happen that Zain was ready to put his family above everyone else because I was under the impression that he had a strained relationship with his parents & he was someone who only believed in his having things his way no matter what. This is Zain’s marriage that we’re talking about & he chose not to do anything for the sake of his lady love? That’s quite unlike him!

To be honest, every time I hear Nishal label Rabail as an ordinary girl, I end up rolling my eyes. As far as I know, Rabail is polite, intelligent, considerate & educated enough to be a doctor & hmmm does anybody know what does Nishaal do apart from using foundation probably 5 shades lighter than her skin-tone & going around aimlessly using the same Dr. Rabail’s identity that she sees as an ordinary girl? Jokes apart, what does Nishaal actually do to think that she is better than Rabail in every aspect? In general also, I am not sure why did they cast Ayeza Khan for this role because it has been emphasized again & again by Zain’s mother, sister & even Nishaal that Rabail is an ordinary girl because in comparison to Nishaal the character as well as the actor, I find it totally unbelievable & unconvincing because for me Ayeza/Rabail are definitely heaps better!

Well, I feel bad for Umair. It is unfortunate that his parents especially his mother is so manipulative that she wants Rabail to take all the responsibility & lose respect that Umair has for her for the rest of their lives. Rabail surely is paying a huge price by first getting married only to step away from Umair’s family & life & secondly by shattering his trust to such an extent that he will hate her. Rabail has been someone whom Umair has always looked up to, he has always seen her worthy of his respect & has also loved her because he shares this level of understanding, so it will be hard to see him losing the direction after facing this heart-break & seeing Rabail as someone who played with his feelings!

The note at which this episode ended was interesting. Zain is sorted & after getting to know Nishaal clearly, he knows what he is doing is right. Obviously, this is Zain’s way of punishing Nishaal for fooling him & then insulting him but I am sure he will later realize that he made the right decision by getting married to Rabail. Anyways, all the actors did a great job but Imran Abbas was on another levelll! Too good!!! Looking forward to the next episode definitely because of him. Please share your thoughts!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 3 Review – Definitely Improving!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was interesting & I felt like that more after I saw the ending of this & the preview of the next episode. I am glad that from coming across as what seemed like an unconvincing misunderstanding, the writer took a turn & opened up the reality on the characters.

Nishaal spoke to Rabail about Umair & Rabail knew what she had to do in order to convince Umair to go abroad & pursue his education. Rabail knows Umair in & out, so it is very much understandable that Umair sees a life-partner in Rabail for himself because they both have this level of understanding. Also, Rabail knows Umair more than he knows himself, so it is justified that a guy like Umair wants to settle down with a girl like Rabail who he knows will always guide & understand him. Rabail told Umair that she will wait for him so he should leave & do what his parents expect from him. It was sweet that only this much of assurance was enough for Umair & he agreed to leave with this satisfaction in his heart that Rabail was going to be there for him when he will come back. To be honest, even though it is too early to predict anything & it is pretty much a done deal that Zain will fall for Rabail eventually after their marriage, I wouldn’t mind seeing Rabail ending up with Umair, but let’s see how things roll!

Zain on the other hand was pretty excited that Rabail (Nishal) accepted his proposal. Their interactions were interesting & it was amusing to see how Zain kept on pestering Nishal. Zain obviously thought that Nishal was his wife-to-be while she still being unaware of the fact that Zain is the one who has sent proposal for her, that is why he enjoyed following her around whereas for Nishal, he was just an annoying guy who was bothering her. I will say, their interactions were interesting & a breeze to watch solely because of Imran Abbas, he made Zain look pretty charming plus effortless acting made it all look real but I can’t say that about the girl playing the role of Nishal. Her acting was hard to watch & it seemed too forced & effortful. It looked like she concentrated more on keeping her curls & white-washed foundation intact because in all honesty there was nothing attractive about her, neither her personality nor her acting. Also, I wish she had worked hard & harder on her dialogue delivery because that’s another story!

Well, Zain’s family already started making assumptions about Rabail & started questioning the approach of her family towards such a sensitive matter like their marriage & its preparations. Rabail didn’t come to the forefront therefore Nishal had to take the responsibility. Well, Umair was enough of a reason for Rabail to say yes to this proposal but after she heard everything Nishal said to her mother, it definitely convinced Rabail to quietly accept this proposal & walk out of their lives respectfully.

Zain’s persistence definitely impressed Nishal & not openly though, she most certainly started taking him seriously because obviously, Zain did everything he could to draw her attention towards him. Zain thought he had gone to the right place to meet his wife-to-be & Nishal thought he surely was serious about her that he just so casually came to her place to meet her parents but then both Zain & Nishal had to come to senses because he found out who Rabail actually was & Nishal found out that Zain’s the guy Rabail is going to get married to. I am glad they didn’t just drag this misunderstanding too much & got over with it quickly in order to move the story forward.

Overall, this episode was definitely better than the initial 2 episodes & I certainly had a good time watching it. Also, decent direction definitely plays a part in making this drama worth tuning to. I am glad Imran Abbas got a chance to perform & there were more of his scenes. Muneeb Butt has succeeded in making Umair look very innocent & cute. Ayeza Khan as Rabail is convincing too. I wish someone else had played the role of Nishal, at least someone who could act confidently. It looks like after Pukaar, Koi Chand Rakh also happens to be such a drama where the entire team was obsessed with very fair characters because even though a couple of actors are naturally very fair like Ayeza & Muneeb, the amount of white wash on everyone else’s face is unreslistically too much. Anyways, please share your thoughts.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 27 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – Bad Direction:

Ohkay so, with this episode of Koi Chand Rakh, the story got wrapped up a bit & the base for finale was set. Honestly speaking, while watching this episode tonight, I actually wondered that may be the story of the novel on which Koi Chand Rakh is based on wasn’t that bad, what made it a bad drama actually was the execution, direction & the acting of some of the actors. The director is the captain of a ship & Koi Chand Rakh drowned solely because of the director & that is why we get to experience so many glitches in every other episode!

Zain Ain’t Getting His Apology Accepted:

Zain was apologetic & he continued being apologetic throughout the episode. Zain had made up his mind that he wants to reconcile & patch things up with Rabail but now Rabail is past that stage where she could even think of giving Zain a chance. Even though I am not as keen on Rabail’s character but I totally support her decision of not giving Zain another chance just because he is sorry. Zain can not have things his way, he can not get the best of both worlds where when he wanted to, he left without any explanation & now again when he wants, he is pushing his way back in Rabail’s life. It is good to see Rabail standing her ground. It shows that when a loyal person like Rabail is betrayed & tossed away, the damage is irreparable & that is why despite all the pressures from Zain as well as Sobi, Rabail is not ready to give Zain another chance!

Nishal lost her child because she tried to commit suicide. It is unfortunate that Zain’s love has driven Nishal crazy to a point where she is now harming herself. Everything aside, be it Zain’s guilt or regret or the suffocation he feels while being with Nishal, I just don’t get how come Zain is steering clear from the responsibility he has towards her? Zain wants to make things work with Rabail, that’s fine but he should realize that he can not just completely ignore Nishal especially when she is in such a mental state. It was rich seeing Zain blaming Nishal just so easily whereas whatever Nishal has done or has been doing now is only because of Zain & the love she has for him. Zain is regretful, that’s fine but he can not only hold Nishal accountable for whatever wrong decisions he has made in his life because he was not a toddler to begin with!

Closing Thoughts – Jaan Jaye Par Makeup Na Jaye:

Overall, the direction of this episode was again quite bad. Also, it seemed that no one in this team grasped the concept of continuity – change in the length of shirts, change in the patterns of shirts, changes of hairstyles & stuff like that showcased poor continuity & lack of attention to detail. It shows that by now the director as well as the actors had pretty much lost the interest in this drama & they wanted to finish it off quickly, that is why they were just pushing through. It was funny that Nishal sneaked out of the hospital room & when she reached her house, that is when Nafeesa woke up which almost looked like she was sleep-walking. What a mindful parent I must say. I think it is actually very cute endearing of a fact that the actor playing the role of Nafeesa is so bad at acting, I am being honest, I find it cute. Anyways, it is amusing how Asad & Nafeesa have nothing else to talk about than just comparing Nishal & Rabail. Makeup as usual was hideous. I must say I also want to meet one such doctor in my life who looks so rosy, pink & glamorous. The doctor who came to give Nishal a reality check was just as made up as Rabail. I guess it runs in the hospital. Also, I want to see one such person suffering from depression that has her nails painted red & eyes painted shimmery pink. Amazing. Chalo, I guess if not for anything else, the team of Koi Chand Rakh should be applauded for paying so much attention to at least one thing i-e makeup. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – I’m Baffled:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh left me baffled, reason being the hero getting a clean chit for all of his wrongdoings & his 2nd wife being held responsible for him stuffing up? How is it even justified? I guess our writers are only bent on proving this proverb right which is “Subha ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aaye to usay Pakistani hero kehte hain”.

Zain Gets A Clean Chit & Nishal Gets A Dirty Mop:

This entire episode revolved around Zain’s guilt & how he was trying to do everything to prove it to Rabail that he had changed & wanted a second chance. The timeline in this episode was quite confusing too. They did suggest that Zain & Nishal went away for 11 months & then came back, chalo let’s say they were gone for 1 year & after he came back he started meeting Gulshan & Rabail. He spoke to Rabail & apologized, next thing we know that Gulshan died & after that only one week had passed. Now miraculously Ujala is probably 3 years old & Umair has completed his engineering. Wah!

Anyways, Zain is pretty much over Nishal & conveniently, he is blaming her for dragging him away from everyone? Zain was a grown up man capable of taking decisions himself, so how is he trying to walk away scot free while holding Nishal responsible for everything? Just because Zain is showing remorse & regrets what he did, he is the hero & Nishal, who is rightfully fighting for her rights is the villain here. Nishal’s negative side is dominant, yes, that’s true but she can not be solely blamed for things that went wrong in Zain’s life because he chose to betray Rabail & walked out on her himself.

Rabail still hasn’t forgiven Zain & she continued to spew falsafa, so much so that when Zain said “mai tumhe drop kar deta hoon”, Rabail replied “Mai aur Ujala aik dusre ki taqat bhi hain aur kamzori bhi”…ummm I am unable to follow her train of thought here? Oh may be she wanted to say “Mai aur Ujala aik dusre ki Uber bhi hain aur Careem bhi”. It is good to see Rabail standing her ground & still having this believe in herself that she can lead a life without a husband like Zain but all that aside, why is she such a bore & dha? Like every time I see Rabail, after noticing the layers & layers of cake on her face, I go on a yawning spree because she bores me to no end.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 - Story Review

In this episode Zain gave so many compliments to Nishal which made me cringe because he was no in position to say all of that but like I said, in our dramas our writers just can not even think of punishing the hero equally for his mistakes that is why, Nishal was being labelled as:

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 - Story Review

Nafeesa continues to be another opportunist in the mix. She now wanted Rabail & Ujala to come back to her house so that Zain & Nishal could still be together probably in Zain’s parents’ house. Also, I must say the amount of makeup that Gulshan’s children wore right after her death was amusing. May be they saw their mother caking her face their entire lives that is why even after she had just passed away, they couldn’t keep their hands off makeup in such a difficult time. It looked like right after her mother passed away, the first thing Sobi did was book an appointment with a hair salon that this why her curls looked perfect & the second thing Sobi was only worried about was the distribution of wealth – what an opportunist.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 - Story Review Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 - Story Review

Closing Thoughts – Nonsensical:

Anyways, this drama doesn’t make sense anymore. If Nishal was so keen on taking Zain back, she could have told him about the ‘news bullet-in’ then & there. I didn’t understand why she insisted on him going back with her so that she could tell him that good news? Drag! The only good thing in this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was Nafeesa aunty’s shawl & yes, Imran Abbas looked superb in simple black shalwar kameez, I so wish his character was just as good as his looks too but oh well. Koi Chand Rakh Episode 26 - Story Review

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 25 Story Review – Bunch of Bipolars

Opening Thoughts – Inka Sabun Slow Hai Kya?

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh seriously had me thinking ke in characters ka sabun slow hai kya? Why are all of them finding out the details & truth now after so much time has passed? Rabail just found out that it wasn’t Umair who showed his letters to Zain & Zain just found out that Nishal exagerrated everything. When Umair found out that Zain & Nishal were about to get married, why didn’t he immediately contact Zain to tell him the truth then & there?

Bunch of Bipolars:

Zain’s reactions to that letter has to be the most OTT thing of this drama, yes OTT-er than the makeup of all these actors combined. After Zain was done reading the letter, he immediately started loathing Nishal which had me thinking seriously if Zain was bipolar or his mother dropped him knocking his head on the floor when he was young because of which he was unable to pull his act together? What & why was Zain hating Nishal for? Zain started behaving as if Nishal hadn’t maligned his heart against Rabail, he would be leading a happily married life with her. How conveniently Zain was putting an entire blame on Nishal while completely forgetting that he was the one who was going all utawla in Nishal’s pyaar as well so he cheated on Rabail with his eyes wide open. He can not & should not blame Nishal for being a bad husband to Rabail. Yes, Zain did not find the happiness that he thought he would after getting married to Nishal but he better not use what she did in the past as an excuse to escape & find a way out of this marriage. It was ridiculous seeing how easily Zain forgot that he was an equal culprit too!

Another bipolar who made an appearance in this episode was Nafeesa who was blaming Nishal once again & started showing signs of sympathy towards Rabail. Did Nafeesa also forget that she facilitated this behaviour of Nishal & encouraged her to do what it takes to make Zain hers? Flawed & unbalanced characters & situations like these make the actual culprit look innocent & the rest like the actual culprits who do not own their mistakes & try to bail out scot-free as if they never once did something wrong. Also, how is it possible that none of them say final greetings before hanging up the phone? Nishal said she wanted a baby after hearing that Nafeesa put the phone down & so did Nishal? Allah Hafiz nahi kehna ata?

Everytime I hear Rabail, I am amusingly reminded of the bizarre face Zain made while dissing her philosophical conversations & dialogues. I get it, Rabail is intelligent & serious but why is she such a bore? Why can’t she reply to a simple question simply & not make it sound like kisi Urdu nazm ki tashreeh? Her philosophical dialogues forced me to turn to my phone because that was far more interesting than bland Rabail’s heavy falsafa. It is good that she has this confidence in herself that she can lead her life without the support of a man like Zain but so much falsafa bhai! Also, why didn’t anyone of them change clothes? Rabail went to do grocery, met Zain, came back, took Gulshan to the hospital, came back & the day was still bright & they all were in the same clothes. Did they suggest that so much happened the same day?

Zain decided to apologize to Rabail. I mean if it wasn’t for Umair’s letter, Zain would have never admitted his mistakes & now because he got a validation from another guy about Rabail’s piety, he decided to give her a status of his wife again? How shallow & selfish I must say. Good that Rabail didn’t budge but I am sure she won’t be able to stay firm because after a couple of praise-y words from Zain, Rabail was interested to hear more that is why she was like Aur? Duh!

Closing Thoughts – Imran Abbas Can Do So Much Better:

I have said this before but I will reiterate that whosoever is the makeup artist should be fired for life. What he did with Asma Abbas to make her look unwell is unforgiveable. Also, not to forget the fluctuating intensity of her dark circles that vanished one moment & the next moment struck like a storm around her eyes? Imran Abbas looked ghostly in some scenes & Ayeza Khan looked invisible due to the amount of Ivory paint stick that was painted all over her face. I think the editors love the OST way too much that is why they make sure to slow down the entire scene to let Rahat Fateh Ali Khan complete his stenza over & over again. It seriously gets on my nerves & I am not a big fan of the OSTs sung by RFAK anyways because when repeated they tend to become annoying & that is happening with Koi Chand Rakh’s over-used OST as well. Anyways, as someone who has spoken to Imran Abbas through her reviews during Khuda Aur Mohabbat & Yaar e Bewafa days, as someone who genuinely & truly respects Imran Abbas as an actor & as someone who sees him as this big star of our industry, after watching him in this episode, I am forced to genuinely ask…Imran Abbas ye appne kya kiya? Uf! He deserves to act in bigger better dramas, this doesn’t match his calibre honestly. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 24 Story Review – Surprisingly Good Episode

Opening Thoughts – Better Than Previous Episodes:

Ohkay so, surprisingly even though I have no reason to feel this way but I found this episode of Koi Chand Rakh a lot better than the previous episodes & even I am confused as to why am I feeling this way! May be because there was not much rona dhona & also because now they showed how Zain & Nishal had their set of problems too, which was low-key satisfying to see.

Some Progress In Every Track:

Rabail finally learned to move on & not only that, she has a support of her mother in law as well who loves her & respects her too. Gulshan has definitely surprised me & it is good to see a mother in law who can hold her son responsible for everything wrong that he has done. For Zain to not see or meet Ujala actually is unacceptable behaviour but he is too busy pleasing the twisted love of his life that he ain’t got time for his daughter but then I am sure Ujala is better off without having a father like Zain in her life!

Where the rest of the characters made sense in this episode, including Nishal, Zain seemed out of order. At first he decided to go to the party thrown in Ujala’s honor & the moment he entered, he stared advocating the rights of Nishal & started whining about how he couldn’t stand Rabail? Matlab itni ziyada foundation to aisay lagai thi Zain Abbu ne jaisay Ujala ke saath khushi mai 50 selfies leni hon but when he arrived, he immediately started acting like a party pooper! Also, what was so new that he couldn’t speak about with Gulshan over the phone that he had to come all the way to tell her that he was upset at his mother for bringing Rabail back in this house? Zain’s character is poorly written & his sudden behavioural flips make it hard to take him seriously, also the bucket-load of foundation doesn’t help his case either!

Zain took a stand for his psychotic wife Nishal & decided to estrange his entire family for her. Chalo, at least I thought it was good to see him being firmly decisive about something but after the scene of coming back from a holiday with empty suitcases, Zain’s attitude flipped suddenly once again, leaving me confused about his actual intentions. Nishal only said she wanted to visit a doctor but Zain rolled his eyes & gave her a piece of his mind, matlab all this right after they came back from a holiday & did Nishaal suggest that they returned after 11 months?

Rabail moved on & she seemed pretty content with how things were unfolding. It was good that Rabail finally let go of the grudge she had against Umair because he got a chance to explain himself. Also, I must say even though Zia & Sobi are used as fillers in this drama but they are like those fillers that go wrong & botch up the entire face. Matlab becharay dono hi completely useless hain!

Closing Thoughts – Full of Surprises:

Like I said, I don’t have any special reason to feel this way but I still found this episode interesting after weeks of tuning to Koi Chand Rakh but then I also don’t have much nice things to say about it – bohat nazuk surat e haal hai. Even though they haven’t shown a proper solution to Nishal’s problems but the conversation has been happening in the right context where Zain tried to make her realize that most of her issues are self-created & based on the hatred & negativity she has garnered in her heart for everyone. The acting of every actor was pretty good in this episode & even the direction was better too. This episode surely was full of surprises. Random but funny, I couldn’t stop noticing how different & darker everyone’s hands looked as compared to their faces…the amount of whitewashing in Koi Chand Rakh is too high. Koi Chand Rakh Episode 23 Story Review – Makeup Enthusiasts

Opening Thoughts – Clichéd:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was just alright but I couldn’t help rolling my eyes on the clichés that it promoted but there was a positive approach towards the birth of a baby girl which was nice to see!

Baby Girl Gets A Warm Welcome:

Rabail had a girl & Nishal was over the moon as she thinks she’ll reign supreme after giving birth to a baby boy. I didn’t know that apart from doing nothing & just makeup, Nishal’s real business was that of fortune telling because she is so sure that she will have a baby boy, wow! I don’t really understand Nafeesa & her expressions though, I just don’t want to use that word but she always makes me feel she is c*********d. Nafeesa’s reaction was weird just like her, she seemed alright while telling Umair about Ujala’s birth but she also seemed preoccupied with some thoughts, I am sure she too must be wondering about the day when Nishal will have a baby boy & Nafeesa will become more arrogant!

Zain’s reaction when he found out that Rabail had a girl was sickening. He was obviously confused at first but he did seem frustrated that a girl was born. Zain did however feel for Rabail but then Nishal’s brain feeding just didn’t let him forget about the promise that he had made to her as well as Rabail therefore he thought it was again the right moment to let Rabail know that she can choose to leave whenever she wanted to.

I was pleasantly surprised with Gulshan’s attitude towards Rabail & Ujala. I actually thought she’d be disappointed to know that a baby girl was born but she seemed happy & decided to keep them both in her home with her. Sobi as well as Zia were happy too but yes, their romance on the side was cringe++, but it was nice to see them doing everything to make Rabail feel valued & loved. Umair also came to see Ujala but Rabail like always felt it was necessary to insult him. Rabail herself just can not put Umair’s feelings for her aside that is why she always judges him even when his intentions are only to make her happy. Did Rabail actually think that Zain would’ve never gotten married to Nishal if he hadn’t found out about the one-sided love Umair had for her? At this point of the drama I can not believe how dumb Rabail is & because of that I can not take her seriously too! Zain clearly told Rabail that he was in love with Nishal right from the beginning but Rabail thought to treat Umair as a punching bag because he is a soft target for her. It seems Rabail knows she can not show attitude to anyone else so she treats Umair like he is some doormat & now she was again blaming him for what Zain did to her! RIP Brains!

To be honest, for how long our drama writers will continue to give such clichéd solutions to mental health issues? If someone is mentally unwell, our writers show that the entire family suggests they should get him/her married. Similarly, in Koi Chand Rakh, I actually thought the writer took a step in the right direction by showing that Nishal went to see a psychiatrist & she was ready to seek medical assistance for her issues but the doctor sahab had no other ilaaj for her other than having a child? Seriously, how does this logic work? Depression can be cured with a child? Nishal is a depressed person who has no control over her emotions & the doctor wants her to have a baby that will demand every ounce of mental, physical & emotional support from Nishal who is not even in a state to take care of herself first!?!?! The diagnosis was right but the solution was ridiculous! Well, it seems even Zain feels trapped & burdened but then he signed up for it so it serves him right!

Closing Thoughts – Truckload of Makeup:

This episode of Koi Chand Rakh was alright but overall this drama is a flop. I think after this project the entire cast should really take a step back & think about the direction they want to give to their acting career because working in dramas like these is not going to get them anywhere. Imran Abbas & Ayeza Khan especially need to think thrice before signing dramas like Koi Chand Rakh – however these work well for likes of Areeba Habib. Also, whoever has done her makeup should throw their entire makeup kit away because she not only looks green but also that purple/pink eyeshadow on the entire undereye makes it look like she has some sort of disease. Extremely bad makeup job. Also yes, in the hospital scene Imran Abbas’s highlighter was on-fleek (ahem ahem) & Ayeza Khan looked rosier than ever after going through such an intense phase such as labour, how unrealistic. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 22 Story Review – Much Needed Progress

Opening Thoughts – Much Needed Change of Scenario:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh changed the scenario with people turning in favor of Rabail which definitely was nice to see probably for the first time ever since the drama has begun. Even though the story of Koi Chand Rakh is nothing special but because I have invested quite a lot of time in it I feel like watching it right till the end.

Things Have Moved On:

Umair decided to bring his life back on track because he felt he had wasted a lot of time crying over his fate of not being able to be with Rabail. Rabail encouraged him too & his parents supported his decision. Nafeesa however continued to be annoying & it is too obvious that she still despises Rabail even after what Nishal has done with her.

Nishal can not stand anyone around Zain. She is obsessed & possessive about him to an extent of being paranoid that is why she slowly & steadily started talking to Zain against his mother & sister because she couldn’t tolerate the fact that he had any kind of emotional attachment to them. Nishal wants Zain all to herself that is why she twisted the entire scenario to turn him against his own family too. Now that Rabail has Gulshan’s support, Nishal made sure to use it against her mother in law as well to further prove her point to Zain that Gulshan was unhappy about his & Nishal’s marriage. Zain obviously loves & accepts Nishal the way she is that is why he just did not find anything wrong with her attitude & behaviour with anyone else.

Zia finally came to senses & wanted to rectify all that went wrong because of him. It was nice to see Rabail finally finding her own identity & not relying on Zain to complete or define her. Rabail has accepted the fact that her relationship with Zain has no meaning but still because she was still married to him, she continued to fulfill her duties as a daughter & sister in law which has finally earned her a place in Gulshan, Zia & Sobi’s hearts. Zain has created a life of his own with Nishal where there’s no space for anyone else but Rabail’s phone call did remind him that he had some other responsibilities towards his mother & sister too which made it obvious that he hadn’t forgottten about them but was just too busy pleasing Nishal!

Closing Thoughts – Poorly Written Scenarios & Characters:

The direction of Koi Chand Rakh continues to be bad & the actors’ can’t do much when the dialogues & the situations are poorly written too. When Zain came to the house all flustered & hesitant, Sobi uttered to Gulshan that Zain Bhai looked so happy? I mean either the characters in Koi Chand Rakh are blind or they are deliberately trying to insult the intelligence of the viewers. Also, a random thought that I feel like sharing, when Nishal called Zain & asked “kya kar rahay ho”, I literally thought the next thing she’s going to say is “ao mil ke makeup shopping karne jatay hain” because they both looked so pink & rosy & made-up in that scene, lol! Imran Abbas’s expressions when he tried to stop Nishal from misbehaving with Gulshan were so awkward. It seems Imran Abbas has forgotten how to act especially in this drama. Plus every single time he is standing or walking, he has clenched fists which makes it look like he is uneasy or something. Though this was Imran Abbas’s negative character after a long time, I had high expectations from him but I wish after the ‘success’ of Koi Chand Rakh he gives a serious thought to what kind of dramas he wants to do next. Anyways, I will say though that I didn’t have a hard time watching this episode because there was not much rona dhona that we have been seeing in all the previous episodes continuously. I am relieved that things have finally started to move on which means we’re headed to the end of this drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 21 Story Review – Boring

Opening Thoughts – Borinaga:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was absolutely boring. There was nothing special or new that happened in this episode. I think this is the kind of drama that the channel should air double episode of because we need to get done with this quickly considering the superfast pace that it has (coughing sarcasm).

Frustrating Flashbacks:

I guess if we rely on the water meter, it will tell us the amount of gallons Rabail has filled so far with her tears because apart from doing rosy pink makeup, that’s the only other thing that she does. All the weak people around Rabail are speaking about the courage that she has shown but I can’t see it even after so much of an emphasis on it. I don’t really understand why do we get to hear the dialogues as flashbacks again & again that have been blurted 2 seconds ago? It just makes the entire episode boring, slow & like a school lesson that the teacher is repeatedly feeding into students’ minds. Nishal & Zain’s dialogues that they just said a minute ago were echoing in the background when the camera was focusing on Rabail. I guess since there’s nothing much to be shown in terms of her personality, this is how the director makes her look like a bigger bechari!

Nishal & Zain are having the time of their lives & Zain thinks he has scored himself a trophy wife that is why he enjoys all of her badtameezis & covers them up. Gulshan has started to realize that Nishal is like a thorn in her garden who is not only ill-mannered but is also pulling Zain away from everyone. For the first time Gulshan felt the need to compare Rabail with Nishal & see how good Rabail is but then what’s the use of all this when she can not do anything to help her. Nishal is exploiting Zain using the love he has for her but then they both deserve each other so it’s alright. I find it funny that the scenarios are so shallow in this drama!

Umair is ready to bring his life back on track & he is doing all that so that Rabail can live in his house without hesitating. It is good that Umair has realized that there’s no point in wasting his life. Nafeesa obviously has always sided with Nishal, no wonder Nishal takes after her mother, so yes, Nafeesa now wanted Nishal to work her way up in that family because she is insecure about her position due to Rabail’s pregnancy. What a conniving fox I must say.

Zia Bhai wasn’t as smart as I thought he was after all. He came back & regretted everything that he did. Obviously, this will further prove Rabail’s niceness to Sobi & Gulshan when Zia will come seeking Sobi’s proposal after getting treated from Rabail. Sobi not only lacks brains but self respect too, I mean this guy dumped her right before their engagement & now there she is ready to eat a laddu again in the next episode, lol!

Closing Thoughts – Poorly Written:

Koi Chand Rakh is that kind of a drama which is poorly written. The characters are worse with no depth or personality. The psychotic ones are celebrated & the good ones are oppressed. There’s absolutely nothing new or interesting about this drama & that makes me wonder why did such high profile actors like Ayeza Khan & Imran Abbas agree to work in it? It’s going to be a mystery exactly the way the straightness of Rabail’s hair & rosiness of her cheeks is that too in such a depressing situation. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 20 – Story Review

Opening Thoughts – Better Than The Previous Episodes:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was better than the previous episodes because this time around our damsel in distress took a stand for herself. I cheered for Rabail like never before because it was nice to see her being firm on her ground!

Finally Rabail Spoke Up:

Rabail was the one who demanded divorce from Zain because she has assessed the entire situation & is not living in some lala land that Zain belongs to her. He has cheated on her so there’s absolutely nothing left for her to be hopeful about. The way Rabail clearly told Zain off was the best thing that happened in this drama probably for the first time because so far she was pretty fine with being mistreated but she chose not to continue with that behaviour anymore. For the first time Rabail also  acknowledged what Umair has done for her & she was right, if it wasn’t for Umair, she would’ve never fought for herself.

Nishal wants Rabail out of Zain’s house. Also, why did they make it like Nishal was finding it out for the first time that Rabail was expecting a child? Nishal clearly heard Gulshan the other day when she was telling Zain to take care of Rabail but now she seemed shock as if she didn’t know about this before. Nishal & Zain’s romance is anything but cute & it has a lot to do with Areeba Habib as well as the way their characters have been executed!

Asad uncle came to support Rabail but Nafeesa aunty continued to sympathize with her psychotic daughter. In that very scene when they were having breakfast Nishal had wavy hair but in the next when she went to see her father she had straight hair? These little things show the lack of attention to detail from director’s as well as actor’s side.

Cringes of The Episode:

The biggest cringe worthy subject that came to the forefront in Koi Chand Rakh was the debate regarding the gender of the baby. Nishal claims she will give this family a son whereas Rabail will give birth to a girl. Wow! Are these guys fortune tellers or what? Gulshan aunty said Allah ki jo marzi as a cover up to her umeed of bhai hamain to beta hi chahiye!?! Zain also had a lot of confidence that he will only have a son, matlab khud beta ho ke kaunse gul khila liye app ne? Lol! Pathetic! Another pathetic scene was Sobi’s request of Nishal sitting next to her? What did she want to do? Count pores on her cheeks or be mesmerized by the layers & layers & layers of foundation that she has caked on her face?!?!

Closing Thoughts – Good Acting:

Overall, this episode was definitely better but I wish Rabail didn’t cling onto the hope of Zain’s return because when she had a face off with Nishal, she sounded hopeful that things will eventually change after the baby!?! Anyways, the acting of most of the cast was better in this episode in general excluding Nafeesa & Nishal. Muneeb Butt has really nailed his character & performed brilliantly. Ayeza Khan has done a good job too. Now that we’re through 20 episodes I hope the story progresses quickly & we get to the end soon because now things are becoming somewhat stagnant & repetitive. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 2 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh took the story forward but was strictly alright. I think the predictability of the plot & the entire story is making it harder for me to be too emotionally invested in this drama. Even though this drama has big names associated with it & they are definitely drawing the viewers’ attention to it, the overall treatment that has been given to it makes it a bit lacklustre.

Zain follows Nishal who he thinks is Rabail only to find out where she lives & he gets to know that she is a daughter of Asad Niazi. Ibrar scores himself a win when he talks to Zain about Rabail introducing him as Asad Niazi’s relative & that’s when Zain thinks the universe is in his favor. It was interesting to see that Zain’s mother seemed a bit suspicious over Zain’s sudden submissiveness because she knows her son too well to him being perfectly fine with this change in his overall attitude especially in the matters concerning his marriage.

Ibrar’s wife visits Rabail & finds her to be a very traditional & simple sort of a person who is completely different to the kind of girl Zain has an image of in his mind. Zain does tell his mother again & again that he is perfectly fine with this marriage & she can’t seem to wrap her head around it.

Rabail on her own faces issues because of Umair who happens to create problems for her. Even though Nishal & her mother Nafeesa love Rabail a lot but they do make a point that Rabail was always going to be an outsider despite being an ideal girl that she is. Nafeesa feels threatened because she fears losing Umair because of Rabail & Nishal gives words to how she felt about competing with this perfect image of Rabail her entire life. Rabail does see that her presence is causing issues in Asad’s family, that happens to be reason why she quietly accepts Zain’s proposal.

Umair is unable to accept that Rabail has rejected him because he just can not take no for an answer & he feels frustrated as he is unable to make Rabail understand that they can share a relationship deeper & closer than that of siblings. It is obvious that the more Umair will try to persuade her, Rabail will try to find a way out of his life.

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was strictly alright. I feel this is the sort of a drama that one can tune to if they either want to see their favourite stars or their acting because the story is quite flawed as in an era of Facebook & Whatsapp I can’t really wrap my head around the fact that Rabail & Zain will get married on the basis of a misunderstanding that too based on Rabail’s name? I totally see Zain & his friends as stalkers, which they clearly proved by following Nishal to her home, so it is quite unrealistic that they didn’t bother finding out more details about her especially in such a situation where their marriage is on the cards! Anyways, talking about acting, Ayeza Khan has gotten a chance to perform so far but not Imran Abbas, which I am sure he will once Zain’s character will come to the forefront completely. I don’t want to say this in such an early stage of the drama but so far it hasn’t truly impressed me & I completely blame the predictability of the plot. I also don’t see the characters having much depth in them, so far they all seem very typical, seen-before kind & I am not too sure how I feel about them all. I hope the performances of all these actors & some twists & turns make this drama worthwhile but so far, I feel it has had a very average start. Please share your thoughts!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 19 Story Review – Weak Storyline

Opening Thoughts – Weak Storyline:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was strictly alright. This drama lacks the wow factor in my opinion & it’s a shame considering the kind of star cast it has but it still hasn’t been impressive which shows that no matter what, a strong storyline is what makes or breaks the drama.

Things Rolling In The Favor of Zain & Nishal:

Nishal & Zain are having the time of their lives. They not only got married but are now together because they know that they are legally & officially tied in a relationship so no one can say anything. Nishal took a stand & Zain obliged because if it was for him, he wouldn’t have mustered up the courage himself but now because Nishal came to his house & did the honors of announcing their marriage, Zain stood by her because that’s the least he could do. It was kind of shocking to see Nishal literally barging into Zain’s house & making a way for herself. Also, Nishal did borrow Rabail’s room décor but did she also steal her wardrobe because Nishal came to Zain’s place empty handed but now she had a change of clothes for every other scene?

Nafeesa knows she can not do anything plus she supports her daughter blindly, therefore her stance on this matter was understandable but the one who shook me to no end was Asad. Asad proved that pointing a gun at Nishal was basically his way of showcasing his over-acting because when it was the time for real action, he told Umair to not do anything. What a shame!

Rabail was suffering, emotionally, mentally as well as physically but no one seemed to care. Gulshan has her concerns but that too for her own selfish reasons that she wants Zain’s baby in her house by hook or by crook therefore she wants Zain go put up with Rabail. I do think out of all the people, may be Gulshan will understand & like Rabail for who she is. Nishal has proved that she grew up with a lot of insecurities but then in stead of blaming Rabail, she should blame her father especially for being unable to raise her properly!

Umair’s character is well-written & I think that is the only character that the writer worked hard on because despite things not being in his favor, we get to see all the shades of his personality always. Even though Umair is wise but there is still something child-like about him which is the quality that he only shows in front of Rabail. The way he vowed to not move from the bench until Rabail says so was sweet. All the things Umair said were very much necessary for some sense to be knocked into Rabail’s one-dimensional & dull brain. I am glad Umair did the honors & told Rabail what she should do. That entire scene was the only good scene of the episode in my opinion.

Even though Zia Bhai did not make an appearance in this episode but I was reminded of him because of Sobia. I will congratulate Zia Bhai the genius for being mature & saving himself from the hassle of getting married to a dimwit like Sobia who was justifying Zain’s marriage to Nishal by stating that she was prettier than Rabail. As if that was not enough, Sobia had the audacity to say that right in front ot Rabail that too when she was crying? I wish Sobia stays unmarried right till the end of the drama & she doesn’t get the man of her dreams. This is the right kind of punishment for such a dimwit!!!

Closing Thoughts – Muneeb Butt Is The Star of The Show:

This episode was alright but the preview of the next episode showed a change in Rabail’s attitude which was much needed. Ayeza Khan has proved that she focuses more on her looks & not on what the character demands. When her FIL died, she sported rosy cheeks in that scene & now when she was mourning her broken marriage, her highlighter was shining bright for the astronauts to catch from the space. Also, not to forget silky straight hair in every other scene even when she’s at the hospital tending to her patients, Wah! I think the writer gave this character a wrong name because what suits it best is Dr. Gulabo. Anyways, Muneeb Butt is the only good thing about this drama. He has proved himself & it is good to see a young actor outbidding those actors who are senior in terms of acting experience. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 18 Story Review – Decent Episode

Opening Thoughts – Finally Some Progress:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was interesting because it took the story forward & finally the cat’s out of the bag now. I will say that after seeing the way certain characters’ reactions to certain things, I totally feel they are poorly written & poorly directed as well.

Truth Is Out:

Zia Bhai turned out to be the one who not only apologized to Sobi but also told Gulshan about Zain’s gul that he had bloomed with the help of Nishal. After finding out about everything, the first thing Gulshan should have done was informing Zain that Rabail had nothing to do with what Zia did but she was too busy taking care of her hair & makeup that she forgot doing something so important. It is funny that when it comes to blaming Rabail, everyone is active & enthusiastic but when its time for the damage control, everyone is either too distracted or least bothered. Well, it was good to see Gulshan being happy about Rabail’s pregnancy, at least there is someone who reacted to this news the way it was meant to be. It seems like Sobi will develop a soft corner for Rabail, I guess in such a considerable cast, giving one supportive person to Rabail isn’t such a big deal!

Asad uncle got to overact again & Nafeesa was now acting numb as if whatever Nishal did was again Rabail’s fault. Nishal is someone who has grown up with a lot of complexes & a lot of bitterness that is why she couldn’t stop reminiscing about the times she had spent with Rabail & how every single time she was forced to accommodate her. Nishal felt victorious because she now took revenge of a lifetime & snatched away someone who meant a lot to Rabail.

To be honest, as much as I feel for Rabail, I am not a fan of her character because there’s no difference between Rabail or a doormat. Every single time one person or the other misbehaves with her & she stands there speechless as if she is entitled to such kind of treatment.

Closing Thoughts – Double Episodes Would’ve Been Better:

Well, Nishal was thrown out of the house & she came to Zain’s right at that time when Rabail was trying to mend her broken relationship with Zain. We have seen a lot of negative characters but they seem convincing because of the way they have been written but in Koi Chand Rakh there’s absolutely no personality in negative characters, no logic, no substance whatsoever.

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was still pretty decent because the story made a progress. Ayeza Khan’s acting was really good in the last scene for sure. Not sure what has gone into Imran Abbas though, his acting is just not the same anymore. I still believe if they had aired double episodes of this drama, it would’ve been a better experience watching it. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 17 Story Review – Communication Gap

Opening Thoughts – Communication Gap:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh took the story forward but I am totally bored of the way Rabail is being treated & also how there is so much communication gap between the characters. It is like they wait for the director to say ‘cut’ before they say what needs to be said. Talk about dragging a situation like a chewing gum!

Rabail – The Ultimate Villain:

Zain, Gulshan, Nafeesa, Sobi, Nishal…everyone hates Rabail & as much as they all look mean doing so, Rabail also looks foolish to not say a word or do something to fix the matter. After Zain misunderstood Rabail & blamed her for ruining Sobi’s life, it was Rabail’s duty to tell the truth to Zain but she was casually chilling in the hospital. To be honest the way things are ridiculously one-sided & one-dimensional in Koi Chand Rakh, it makes very hard to take this drama seriously as well as feel anything for Rabail because it is like the punch line of this drama that no matter what happens, Rabail is the culprit!

Zain was still dual minded but his encounter with Umair forced him to say yes to Nishal’s demand of getting married. Umair wanted to save Rabail but because Rabail didn’t have the courage to face all those who wronged her, she shed her frustrations on poor soul Umair. Umair wanted to help Rabail but seems like she doesn’t want to help herself. I guess everyone in this drama is suffering from “Don’t Let Anyone Complete Their Sentence Syndrome” & based on that, the writer is taking the story forward. While watching Umair chasing Rabail’s car like “Allah ke naam pe de de Rabi Jee”, all I could think of was that these guys exist in the Whatsapp era & if he was intelligent enough, all he had to do was send her a message saying Zain & Nishal are getting married, aur na chahtay hue bhi Rabi Jee wo message hair aur makeup ke lambay session ke baad parh hi letin!

Anyways, Zain & Nishal got married & Zia Bhai not only changed his grey coat but also changed his khaslat. Also, I am wondering Zia Bhai ko apne ex-to-be-salay yani Umair ka number kaisay mila? If Zia really wanted to help, he should have called Rabail directly but because hamare Zia Bhai hain hi itne genius, un se aur kya expect karte?

Closing Thoughts – Drama For The Sake of Drama:

The preview of the next episode promised some more over acting & some more makeup. Asad pointing a gun at Nishal seemed as real as a kid pointing his water gun at a stranger. Hona kuch hai nahi but chalo drama for the sake of drama hi sahi. The amount of lipstick used in this episode was too much & all the women as well as men are guilty as charged for this crime. I must say, Muneeb Butt has been very impressive in this drama & it looks like Imran Abbas has forgotten how to act in this particular project. Koi Chand Rakh Episode 16 Story Review – Bad Acting

Opening Thoughts – Bad Acting:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was filled with bad acting & poorly pronounced words that by the end of it, I actually lost count of how many fumbles all the actors made & how the director didn’t even bother correcting them. It just shows the level of interest the director is left with when it comes to this project.

One-Dimensional Characters:

Everytime I watch Koi Chand Rakh, I am left wondering how is it possible for the characters to be so one dimensional & shallow that they do not believe in giving benefit of doubt to the one they love misunderstanding? I mean before even blaming or misunderstanding Rabail, do they even think for a second? It is so amusing that the moment they make up their mind about Rabail, they stick to their opinion without even considering for a second that they might be misconstruing her or her intentions? Like I said before, they all see a punching bag in Rabail so they just love to use her as one.

Zia left & Zain confirmed that he was the sort of guy who was unreliable but even then Sobia & Gulshan decided to blame Rabail because they did the wrong kind of brainstorming & came up with this conclusion that Rabail had everything to do with Zia backing off & leaving before the engagement? Zain clearly said that he knew Zia had all these issues but even then Rabail is the one who is facing the brunt for it.

Nishal tried to convince her father that Umair was misunderstanding her & blaming her for being involved with Zain but that entire scene was so poorly executed where everyone just started yelling at Rabail. Nafeesa is another bipolar patient that we have here who repeatedly calls Rabail & tells her to speak to Umair but on the other hand she doesn’t shy away from holding Rabail responsible for everything wrong, every chance she gets!!!

Rsbail is expecting a baby…another unexpected twist because all that we knew so far was that Zain couldn’t accept her as his wife, but oh well. I find it so frustrating that Zain accuses Rabail of keeping things secret from him when he himself is literally cheating on her. Nishal tried to get closer to Zain by telling her parents that Zain was not happy with Rabail, I wonder how she will react when she will find out that she has a step-baby on the way!

Closing Thoughts – Cringe:

The preview of the next episode was cringe-worthy too. Zain & Nishal will get married. I wonder what will Nafeesa say now when she will find out that her daughter Nishal is a homewrecker? I can’t believe that the overall acting & direction in this particular episode of Koi Chand Rakh was so so bad. It did seem so forced & effortful as if they all were tired themselves to be taking this drama seriously. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 15 Story Review – Repetitive Scenarios

Opening Thoughts – Repetitive Scenarios:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was good only because it ended on an interesting note but other than that it was filled with repetitive situations which were worth forwarding & not watching as there was nothing new to be seen.

Rabail Is a Punching Bag:

As much as I sympathize with Rabail, I am having a tough time accepting her character as a punching bag that is has become because she chooses not to use her brains & sensibilities. Rabail is always pushed by every single person in her life to do the heavy lifting & act as their cover & without even analyzing anything, she simply agrees. Yes, Rabail is nice & she is innocent too but at this point where she has been repeatedly stabbed in her back, she can at least take a step back & guard herself from what everyone puts her through.

Zia Bhai wasn’t as great as I thought he was. He just proposed Sobi & despite knowing how psychotic Zain is, he put the entire blame on Rabail for instigating this proposal? Zia knows that Zain is already not fond of Rabail so for him to use Rabail’s name in order to prove his loyalty to Zain was ridiculous – that too after being insulted by Zain so many times!

Can Zain stop talking to his dead father & can he just stop talking about what his father wanted him to do? It is so obvious that he has his sights, heart & mind set on Nishal plus he is so not respectful of his relationship with Rabail so he should stop acting like he is a saint because he is not. If Zain would have had an ounce of respect left for his dead father, he would have stopped meeting Nishal then & there.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 15 Story Review - Repetitive Scenarios

Nishal very well knows that Rabail never ever reciprocated Umair’s feelings that is why she was feeling guilty for fabricating all lies based on half-baked evidences against her but because Nishal has lost her senses, she chose to go ahead with her evil plan of maligning Zain’s heart further against Rabail!

I am tired of Nafeesa. At one hand she wanted Rabail out of Umair’s life but on the other, she just doesn’t want Rabail to let go of Umair because even Nafeesa knows that Rabail has a control over Umair which she doesn’t, that too being his mother. Asad I thought was rational but he also proved to be a half-psycho member of this entirely mad family because he chose not to understand Umair & in stead of being kind & gentle to him, he just chose the easy way to deal with his son by cutting ties with him.

As if Nafeesa & Co. weren’t enough that even Gulshan & desperate Sobi have now started to play games with Rabail that she should keep the truth to herself & let Zain misunderstand her. I guess even though everyone around Rabail is not sincere to her, I still find it hard to believe that Rabail being an independent woman who deals with different people on a daily basis is still living in a bubble that everyone likes her & no one is deceiving her. Zain told her ‘bakwas nahi karna’ & she stood there unaffected as if she has no self-respect because for Rabail this should have stopped her for a second to question him why was he being so badtameez?

Closing Thoughts – Unexpected But A Good Twist:

Anyways, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh didn’t do much but yes Umair finding out about Nishal & Zain was something unexpected but a good twist. Zain could tame Zia but Umair is rebellious & he would do anything to protect Rabail so it is good that without Rabail knowing, Umair is going to be on her side looking after her. Muneeb Butt has performed brilliantly & so has everyone else but their makeup clad faces make it hard for me to take them seriously or feel anything for them. Koi Chand Rakh Episode 14 Story Review – Stagnant

Opening Thoughts – Slow Episode:

Ohkay so, the story of Koi Chand Rakh has not been progressing for quite a while now. There is nothing new to it or let’s just say that they don’t have much to show. I think the channel should also air double episodes of Koi Chand Rakh so that we get done with this drama ASAP as to watch a turtle-paced episode every single week is no fun!

Zia Bhai The Great:

Zain has realized that he is a husband only in the matters where he can put restrictions on Rabail because other than that, there’s not even a single responsibility that he is fulfilling as her husband. Zain is a perfect example of hypocrisy at its best where he does not have a problem cheating on his wife but because he has found out that Rabail’s cousin had feelings for her, he is unhappy about it & reacting to it as well? It was very sweet to see Rabail putting all her energies in pleasing her dil & zuban jala husband of hers who had nothing but awazari along with 10 layers of foundations pasted on his cheeks. Yes, I am specifically saying cheeks because the makeup enthusiast in me couldn’t stop noticing how Zain’s forehead & cheeks were different toned. So, Zain does think about Rabail a bit & he is also considerate of the fact that he will be hurting his father by doing anything wrong to Rabail but then Nishal keeps him occupied or he gives her a lot of edge to do that. Zain can not just put the entire blame on Nishal & say that she sways him because deep inside even he wants that to happen.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 14 Story Review - Stagnant

Rabail has been nothing but patient with Zain & she only reciprocates his rudeness with politeness but that is still not working in her favor. I felt for Rabail a lot when she said she had no one who belonged to her & that is why she cherishes Zain so much but yes, at times I did feel whether she was too naive to not see Zain’s discomfort or she was just giving him some space or benefit of doubt like she asked for herself while talking to Sobi. I really feel annoyed when I see everyone misunderstanding Rabail I mean everyone else is doing their thing, no one bats an eyelid on what others do but when it comes to Rabail, everyone judges her. I really feel the writer has made things a bit too one-sided where everyone, starting from Asad to Nafeesa to now her mum-in-law & Zain, all of them are against her but Rabail chooses to ignore it all. Will she ever take a stand for herself or will continue to get oppressed!?!

Alay lay lay, Sobi ko sharammm aa gaii…pehle flirtiyaan karte hue nahi aa rahi thi aur she didn’t even shy away from telling Rabail to arrange her marriage with Zia but Zia bhai ka naam lete hue Sobi ko sharam aa gai. Well, I really thought that out of all the people Zain’s mother will be loyal to Rabail but even she was playing games & wanted Rabail to do the heavy-lifting if things went wrong in Zia/Sobi’s case.

Zia Bhai The Great gave us a new proverb just because he thought Ignorance Is Bliss is outdated, he spruced it up to Ignorance Is Blessing. After getting Bhai-zoned by his very own Nishiiiiiii, he wore his staple grey coat (jo shayad production house ne 1 hi diya tha) & went to that cafe to have a lunch/dinner because he realized that he will be forever alone for a while now. Oh well, I actually got excited that Zia will spill the beans but nah, Zain came home to mazeed bistiofy Zia Bhai The Great!

Closing Thoughts – Move The Story Forward:

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh wasn’t special but I had a good time watching it because of the comic quotient it had or because I derived some fun out of it. I really think the story should progress now because it has been stagnant for quite some while now. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 13 Story Review – Better Than Before

Opening Thoughts – Well-Executed:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was definitely well-executed. I can see that things are now changing & getting intense which was much needed because so far the story has been pretty basic without anything new to offer!

Planning & Plotting Against Rabail:

Well, Rabail is trying really hard to make things work & she is giving it all to connect with Zain but Zain is not even trying for obvious reasons. Yes, Rabail & Zain are two different people but Zain has not even given Rabail a fair chance as right from day 1 he has built this wall between them which Rabail is unable to cross.

It wouldn’t be Koi Chand Rakh without some basic flaws like Zain came to Asad’s place to discuss business matters & Nishal welcomed him as if nothing was wrong in his life or he just didn’t go through his father’s death. All Nishal could think of was Zain’s indifferent behavior towards her but even for once she did not show some consideration that Zain must be emotionally upset. Nishal kept on pestering Zain using Rabail’s name whereas Zain for a second did think about the promise he almost made to his father but forgot about it the moment Nishal started hovering around him. Also, Zain’s fluctuating behavior & expressions were funny. In the morning he left home very serious with a lot of responsibilty on his shoulders but by the time he returned, he came back as Nishal’s love-sick boyfriend who was throwing tantrums in front of his mother.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 13 Story Review - Better Than Before

Rabail is always going to be at the losing end no matter what she does. To be honest, as much as a sympathize with Rabail, I am getting bored of her bad-luck. I know circumstances will turn in her favor in the end but for now, I am getting tired of seeing things always being against her. Rabail’s concern for Umair was twisted by Nishal & presented in a very different manner in front of Zain but then this is what is going to happen again & again as Nishal wants Zain by hook or by crook.

I don’t understand Zain’s mother either. At one hand she wouldn’t even reply to Rabail’s Salam but on the other hand she wants Rabail to act as her watchman because aunty was alone in her home. Hmmm, where was Sobi? Busy chasing after Zia Bhai? Well, as the episode progressed it was nice to see Zain’s mother softening up for Rabail & trying to defend her too. She can obviously see that her son is struggling & is unable to adjust well with her but it was nice of her to say that Zain should give Rabail a chance.

I found it funny how Rabail just ignored her mum-in-law’s order & continued to do her thing, be it spending time with Umair at the hospital, making soup for him at home or having a long meaningful conversation with Asad regarding Umair’s future. When her MIL ordered I thought Rabail will go back but she didn’t, lol. Also yes, when Nishal made coffee for Zain she said Nafeesa chutti pe hai, whereas she refered to her housemaid as Shumaila before & we all know that Nafeesa is her mother’s name, lol, like I said it wouldn’t be Koi Chand Rakh without these funny glitches.

Closing Thoughts – Better Than Previous Episodes:

Overall, I will say that I found this episode of Koi Chand Rakh a lot better than the previous episodes. I must say that everyone has been acting brilliantly but Muneeb Butt takes the crown, he really has performed phenomenally as Umair. The preview of the next one has caught my interest too. I hope Zia Bhai doesn’t linger the secret for too long & tell Rabail everything quickly. He must get back at both Nishal & Zain for bistiofying him again & again. Kadam barhao Zia Bhai hum tumhare saath hain, lol. On this note, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 12 Story Review – Full of Clichés

Opening Thoughts – Average:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was again pretty average & didn’t have much to offer. Oh yes, I am glad that the chapter of Ibrar closed because just when I was thinking that quite typically Zain & Rabail’s relationship will rely on Ibrar’s breaths, he breathed his last one changing the scenario from being too predictable. Other than that, there was nothing in this episode that was special rather it was full of clichés like it has always been!

Full of Clichés:

Matlab Nafeesa aur Nishal to the hi, Asad uncle joined the league of andhas too. To be honest, I won’t be surprised if later Asad & Nafeesa will agree to Nishal’s marriage with Zain because they are pathetically selfish. All this while, I felt that Asad was reasonable but he proved me wrong. He himself has failed as a parent & he has the audacity to assume that Rabail is responsible for Umair’s condition & his poor choices based on the mere fact that Rabail was in Umair’s room having a conversation with him for his own behtari. Nafeesa & Nishal put up an act in front of Asad but then he won’t be able to judge them correctly since he also has lost his brains just the way the dye on his hair has lost its color!

Ibrar uncle ne itni shadeed acting ki ke dunya e faani se hi kooch kar gaye. It was the most amusing scene because it was anything but serious or intense. Ibrar uncle sounded completely normal in the middle of this manhandling when Zain promised that he won’t be divorcing Rabail but as soon as Ibrar uncle heard that he was going to continue to meet Nishal, he acted a bit too hard & voila…!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 12 Story Review - Full of Clichés

Oh well, as if there was a lack of clichés in this drama that the writer had to throw in that bahu is manhoos twist to it too. I am sure Zain’s mother is definitely going to blame Rabail for snatching away the right of sporting a smokey eye, back-combing & wearing those bright colored sarees from her. It was as if Zain’s mother was waiting for someone to put a blame on Rabail so that she could change her tone & oh, Sobi ki intense look dekhi thi kisi ne? LOL, I am sure she was upset that she’d now have to wait a big longer to chase Zia as she was forcefully mourning the death of Ibrar uncle!

Haye Zia bhai, matlab aur kitna beizzat hoge? I am sure koi aur izzat wala hota to drama ki dunya ko khair abaad keh chuka hota but like I said before, ye banda bezti proof hai. It is so funny that his so called best friend’s father passed away & he felt it was the right time to fix his farzi marriage with Nishal. This surely serves Nishal better because she flirted with a loser & now he has become her galay ki noose. To be honest, I don’t know what will I do if I hear Nishal ki husn ki tareef one more time…hadh hi ho gai hai. Zia bhai ki tareefain were puke-worthy. What a chichora I swear!

Closing Thoughts – Monotonous:

The rest of the episode went by in Umair’s crying bouts & Nafeesa’s bad-duas. It is so obvious that there’s nothing special about the script of Koi Chand Rakh & they have nothing better to show that is why we keep on seeing repetitive scenarios where Zia is chasing Nishal, Umair creates a scene every other day, Nafeesa curses Rabail & Zain acts as if he is entitled to ditch Rabail & marry Nishal because it’s not a big deal. It is also getting monotonous hearing everyone lecturing Rabail about her forced responsibilities whereas on the other hand, no one is ready to treat her with respect which she deserves. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 11 Story Review – Nothing Special

Opening Thoughts – Nothing Special:

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh wasn’t special either but again, it did give me enough bits to laugh over because of the ridiculousness of some situations & certain reactions.

Heart Attack Which Didn’t Change Anyone’s Heart:

Ibrar uncle now couldn’t stop sympathizing with Rabail but then again, even though he admitted that he was at fault too, the fact remains that he didn’t do anything to stop this marriage from happening even after he found out on the day of the wedding that Zain was in love with Nishal. No matter what, he is also completely responsible for Rabail’s condition as he chose to ignore his son’s feelings & assumed that Rabail will make him happy.

The funniest moment for me was when Zain’s mother visited the hospital to see her husband who just had a heart attack & all she could think of was Rabail’s attire. Not only that, she commanded Rabail to come back zara tayar ho ke as people were going to visit Ibrar at the hospital. It is funny how in this drama so much focus has been made on how a girl should & should not look irrespective of the situation she is faced with. Zain ki Ammi ne Rabail ke tayar hone ki kasar to khud hi nikal li thi to abb Rabail kya tayar hoti. It was funny that Ibrar’s heart attack couldn’t un-puff the backcombing on his wife’s head & un-black the intensity of her kajalbhai wah!

Koi Chand Rakh Episode 11 Story Review - Nothing Special

Zain’s zehan was about to get maoof when Rabail asked him a basic question of him being happy with this wedding or not but what’s funny is that his zehan immediately started to work when he wanted to flirt & get cheesy with Nishal. Also, Zain ko Ibrar uncle ke heart attack ki zara bhi fikar nahi thi because of which he was full fledgedly busy planning his second wedding when his father was still hospitalized!!! Nishal & Zain’s conversation was ridiculous again, they both were speaking about courage & being fierce & fearless whereas last time I checked, dono ki jaan sookhi hui thi aik dusre ke liye stand lene ka soch ke hi, lol! Kya courage hai bhai!

As always, Nishal & Co wanted Rabail to guide Umair again which is ridiculous. They got her married so that Umair forgets about her & then there they are calling her again & again to hover around Umair!?! Rabail was right, she was married & she had nothing to do with Umair but Nishal again emotionally blackmailed her. Nafeesa & her rants are repetitive. She is a perfect example of those people who don’t throw their naiki in darya, rather put up a billboard of their naiki on their forehead. Nafeesa had the audacity to tell Rabail that she regrets raising her in her home? Wow. I wish Nafeesa was just as focused on her psychotic Nishal as much as she is on Umair, that way she would’ve known that her daughter wss playing a far more dirty game that she wrongfully accuses Rabail of!!!

Zia bhai also made an appearance only to get friend-zoned by Nishal looool, but don’t worry Zia bhai, appko bhai material na man’ne wali aik behan jee material Sobia bhi hai!

Closing Thoughts – Dodgy Previews:

Overall, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh wasn’t special at all. Also, the preview last week was dodgy as I was looking forward to the scene where Zain spoke about getting married to Nishal but it wasn’t included in this episode. Not sure why they dramatically concealed what Zain was talking to Ibrar about, as if wo koi rocket ka design discuss kar raha tha. Duh! Anyways please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.
