Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 31!

Ohkay so, finally the drama’s about to end & so is the story. I love the way they are heading towards the completion because like they have given coverage to each & every aspect of everyone’s life, they are now doing the same thing as far as the ending is concerned. I must say, this episode made me emotional because finally the moment we all were waiting for was revealed this time.

Wali took the bullet to save Faarah & what more proof would Ruhina want to know & understand that Wali is the perfect man for her daughter? I really am so glad that it was Wali who convinced Ruhina & that too unconsciously. He only did what he was bound to do & that was to save Faarah by any means necessary & just a day with him was enough for Ruhina to know that this guy loves her daughter a lot & would protect & cherish her for the rest of his life. I loved seeing how each & everything that Behroz said to Ruhina about Wali was echoing in her mind & it was like Wali was proving himself & his Bare Baba right, but what made it even more special was that Wali was just being himself, he was oblivious of the fact that Ruhina was reading between the lines & was getting convinced because she was seeing all the words of Behroz turning into a reality in front of her eyes. I loved how gently Wali treated Ruhina & Faarah because that’s what he has been taught to do & he didn’t have to pretend at all to show that he is a good person because he actually is.

Finally, Faarah & Wali both brought Ruhina to Haveli & she agreed because she had nowhere to go. The journey of Ruhina’s self-realization began the moment Moeez shattered her trust & she found herself guilty for not having enough insight & wisdom to judge people rightly. She always hated Behroz’s family & now when she landed in trouble; it was Wali who helped her out. Ruhina obviously didn’t want to face Agha Jaan but she decided she should because Faarah convinced her & told her to snap out of the past. I am glad that Ruhina admitted all her mistakes & apologized but the thing that struck a chord was her confession of how she only came here because she was wronged by her brother & if it wasn’t for that, she would have never come. I must commend the writer for making this aspect a part of their conversation because till that moment, Ruhina’s apology held no weight in my opinion but the moment she came clean about how selfish she was & how she didn’t deserve all the acceptance & warm welcome from Agha Jaan, made me forgive her too. I am glad that after all she has said & done, she had the courage to accept that she came here because she needed to & because she was helpless. Ruhina for the first time gave credit to Faarah & acknowledged her efforts of forcing her to do the right thing & it was good to see that as well.

I loved how easily & how effortlessly Agha Jaan forgave Ruhina. He showed her that its ohkay to make mistakes because by the end of the day, a family is all about walking past the hardships & embracing the future together. Agha Jaan made Ruhina understand that she was entitled to have her opinions & she was entitled to hold onto what she felt was right too & that doesn’t make her a bad person. Like Agha Jaan always said, love conquers all & I am so glad he was there to witness another such moment in his life too.

Honestly, I do feel for Arjumand too but I think she has no other option left as well to move on & get rid of the grudge she holds against Ruhina because Ruhina herself is a living example of how time & circumstances change & force people to change along as well. It was the same Ruhina who vowed that she will never ever step a foot in this Haveli & now she was there with an overbearing guilt that let her know how helpless she was. Arjumand also knows that Wali has always loved Faarah so for his sake she knows she will have to tolerate Faarah for the rest of her life considering she has no idea about the deal that still exists between them. I do understand that Arjumand has gone through a lot because of Ruhina & she is protective of her son Wali because he is the most important person in her life after Suhaib, that is why she doesn’t want him to go through any difficulty because of her again but I am sure Ruhina’s heartfelt apology will make her come to terms with the fact that she & Faarah are just as much a part of the family as she & her children are.

Overall, this episode was very emotional & I am so glad that finally Agha Jaan got to see his whole family under his roof. Sadly, Behroz & Suhaib didn’t live to see this day but their families can continue the tradition of loving & respecting each other, exactly how Agha Jaan taught them to so that too. Finally, Moeez has reached the place where he deserves to be the most & I am glad their part is done with. I really felt bad when Wali referred to Faarah as Taya Abbu ki Beti. I think he really needs to read between the lines & understand that Faarah is in love with him too. Wali should break the ice & confess his love to Faarah so that we can get to see some great moments that they’ll share. As always, this episode was filled with phenomenal performances too & Sanam Saeed played her part well because I actually teared up during her & Agha Jaan’s conversations. Please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 30!

Ohkay so, let me just start of by saying that I have never felt irritated by commercial breaks as much as I did today because the whole episode was so intense & interesting. I couldn’t wait to watch it in one go & the note at which this episode ended left me in shock too but our hero is going to be safe & I am sure of that.

This whole episode belonged to Moeez Tajjamul & his desperate attempts of getting hands on Faarah’s property. He actually played his part well because he knew the only way he could get Faarah out of that Haveli was by using Ruhina as bait & he did succeed because Faarah fell for his trap. Moeez has lost control, sanity & even the sense of thinking straight because he just wants money to run his business smoothly as he knows that Imran won’t let him live peacefully if he won’t fulfill his promise of getting him the amount they both need.

Wali on the other hand spent a sleepless night too because he couldn’t get over the fact that Faarah was feeling emotionally low. Wali obviously loves her & in fact he never stopped loving her but he himself is unable to understand whether Faarah wants to be with him for his or for Agha Jaan’s sake, that is why he is trying hard to stop himself but this time he couldn’t & when he decided to break the ice, he couldn’t believe what Ruhina told him on the phone.

Tajjamul obviously felt bad for his sister that is why he freed her from Moeez’s house arrest. Tajjamul actually was reasonable this time because he knew that Moeez had to be stopped & he was done encouraging him as now his son has crossed all the limits. Yes, it was Tajjamul & Zohra who taught him all that but at least they never intended to cause any harm to Faarah & Ruhina that is why just the thought of what Moeez was about to do with Faarah was enough for Tajjamul to get back on track.

I just loved the way Faarah took a stand for Agha Jaan & didn’t even bother what Moeez might do to her for her refusal of calling him to demand divorce & property. Moeez really was mistaken to think that Faarah would commit the same mistakes she has done in her past. He really doesn’t understand that Faarah is not the same person anymore & Agha Jaan’s love has changed everything in her that is why she even went to the extreme of being ready to face the bullet but not doing anything that would cause distress to her grandfather.

In this whole episode, what I loved the most was the way Wali & Ruhina connected. Even though I don’t care much about Ruhina but I was glad that she herself was able to witness how worried Wali was & how eager as well to save Faarah. Ruhina will also have a change of perspective because the one she loved the most shattered her trust & the one she literally hated is the one who was struggling so hard & doing everything in his might to save Ruhina’s daughter & his wife; Faarah. The softness & defeat in Ruhina’s speech showed how embarrassed & apologetic she was for misunderstanding Wali.

The way Wali took charge of the whole situation was so amazing. He knew what he had to do & he even relied on his instincts, which was so good to see. He knew Moeez was a coward that’s why he would only do something in his comfort zone but fortunately, Ruhina was there at the right time to help him get in contact with Imran. The ending scene was done so well but the whole conversation of Wali, Behroz & Faarah that echoed in the background was a masterstroke. It just lifted the whole scene & gave it a very emotional feel. I loved loved loved the fact that Wali just doesn’t take Faarah as his wife, but he also takes her as someone who was dear to his Baray Baba; Behroz, which gives him even more reasons to love her. Wali has always been like that & that’s how he has been raised by both Arjumand & Suhaib; he has been taught to respect his elders, to hold his relationships close to his heart, to give utmost priority to his family members & that is why, Wali couldn’t stop thinking about all the things that Behroz said to him about taking care of Faarah, giving a feel that Wali was holding himself responsible for not being there for her when she needed him the most & for falling short of his responsibilities. I feel this scene & the reminiscence of Behroz’s words opened a whole new window for me & refined my perspective about Wali’s character & nature a bit more.

Overall, it was a thrilling episode with on-fleek performances by each & everyone but I must say, Ahmed Zeb did complete justice to his character. He has convinced us to hate Moeez & this; I feel is his biggest achievement. His acting, his shift in expressions, his evil laughter in between his frustration & his intimidation was absolutely spot-on. I feel he carried this whole episode on his shoulders really well because it was all about Moeez this time & Ahmed Zeb was commendable. Osman Khalid Butt conveyed the fears & worry of Wali perfectly too. The way he walked in utter shock towards Moeez was the highlight of that whole scene for me, it was like he couldn’t believe what Faarah was going through & he couldn’t take it as well; it was brilliant I must say!!! Maya Ali was amazing too & I loved how she conveyed Faarah’s detest towards Moeez so clearly, she has definitely come a long way & even her slightest expressions tell the whole story accurately. I must say the director here deserves a round of applause for giving life to these characters & making it all just so very special. :)

On a lighter note, I couldn’t stop noticing ‘Masha Allah’ on the windscreen of Moeez’s car, it was funny especially because he was going to do was something so evil & negative & Masha Allah didn’t suit his situation at all. Oh, I loved loved loved the lighting in the initial scenes of the episode, it was so soothing & such a visual treat. Loved the whole episode & can’t wait to see what more do they have in store for us. I am just hoping that before they finish the drama off, they give enough screen-time to Faarah & Wali’s relation because till now they have only loved & respected each other based on the fact how they both took care of others around them, but I would love to see what is it about both of them that made them fall in love with each other. Please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 29!

OMG! This episode was soooo special & nice. I awed throughout the episode because once again it was filled with such emotional dialogues & scenes that it took me to the beautiful world of its own. :)

‘Dil suboot aur gawwah nahi mangta, jahan aqal khatam hoti hai na beta, wahan se dil ki dunya shuru hoti hai’. Isn’t it nice to see that every time Faarah & Agha Jaan talk about something, they end up helping each other one way or the other? Just when Faarah was feeling low & guilty, just a single statement from Agha Jaan helped her get back on her feet & forgive herself. I loved the way Faarah came to terms with her past & her feelings. She is done blaming herself because she now understands that she isn’t such a bad person to begin with, why, because she always followed her heart & it never lied to her. Faarah now knows that every time she followed her heart & everything that her heart told her was right & that’s the way it should be & this is exactly something that gave her the confidence to share her innermost feelings with Agha Jaan. I love how gradually Faarah has developed a confidence that allows her to discuss almost any & everything with Agha Jaan & she isn’t ashamed to admit to him that she has hurt him & how apologetic she is of her past. I love how they have showed that it took her sometime but now when she has started following her heart, Faarah knows she cannot live without her father’s family, her Agha Jaan. I lovedddd how Agha Jaan could see that even though Behroz was not in contact with him, he never let go of the things he was taught by his father & that is why, Faarah knew exactly what Agha Jaan was telling her because that wasn’t something new for her as she had heard all of that from Behroz. The sense of satisfaction that Agha Jaan achieved after that conversation showed that somehow Faarah perfectly compensates Behroz’s absence from his life & he looks at Faarah with a very different perspective because through her, he feels strongly connected to his son; Behroz.

Isn’t it nice to see Zarmeenay helping Faarah with her relationship goals? Zarmeenay obviously knows that Faarah is in love with Wali & she also knows that Wali is in love with Faarah too but there are some misunderstandings & a communication gap that is hindering them from working out their differences. I thought it was very sweet of her to break the ice & take the initiative to help Faarah because she knows that Faarah is all alone & she actually has no one to talk to & no one to rely emotionally upon. I love how intuitive & fair both Wali & Zarmeenay are & I say this because Zarmeenay knows how hard Arjumand is being on Faarah & she admitted it too. Even though she tried to make Faarah understand Arjumand’s reasons, she never once tried to rationalize her mother’s behavior. Zarmeenay knows that Faarah is having a hard time because of Arjumand but she is optimistic that once Faarah will sort out her differences with Wali, Arjumand will accept her because for Arjumand, Wali’s happiness matters the most.

Oh well, Wali Suhaib Khan ke chehre pe muskurahat aa hi gai Faarah Behroz Khan ke khayal se. I think there is something very sweet about how Wali is keeping his feelings to himself. He has always loved Faarah but now he knows that the whole situation is quite complicated & it can further complicate things because where on one hand Faarah wants to be with him, on the other hand Arjumand wants her gone. I loved Wali’s balanced approach where he tried to make Arjumand understand that no matter what transpires between him & Faarah, it will never take away her right of being in this Haveli because it belongs to Agha Jaan & she is as much a part of a family as the rest of them are. I respect Arjumand for the fact that she always respects Wali’s decisions & his approach that is why she exactly knew what Wali said wasn’t wrong & he wasn’t being biased too. I know it’s random but just when Faarah was telling Zarmeenay about how she feels for Wali, I wished Zarmeenay had recorded all of that on her mobile & Whatsapp’ed it to Wali, haha! :)

Honestly speaking, I had a giggle spree during Moeez & Ruhina’s confrontation, lol. Too bad that I didn’t feel bad for Ruhina at all because this is exactly what she needed to wake up. Moeez has taken desperate measures because Imran is giving him a hard time & it was shocking to see that even Tajjamul couldn’t do anything to control Moeez’s rage. It still looked like Tajjamul was feeling bad for his sister but sorry; he is the one who started this game, so now he should bear the consequences too. Tajjamul now can’t stop or blame Zohra or Moeez because he is solely responsible for all this & what Moeez is doing is exactly what he learnt from his parents & his father in particular. BUT, I will say that again, no sympathies for Ruhina, right!

Oh well, the preview of the next episode was super enticing & it got me excited but, let me just say, I am not making it as a separate note but adding it in the review itself to make my point very clear. First off, I thank all the spoiler alerters (if that’s not a word, I am inventing it) for bringing it to my attention in the previous review that Wali is teasing Faarah & what not, I let it slide because it was something that didn’t matter much but, I am very nicely & politely letting you all know that if I come across any such comment that would discuss or give spoiler alerts for the next episode, those comments will be removed. Please, let those who have not read the novel enjoy the drama as it is & keep it in mind that we’re not in a hurry to discuss what is yet to come. ;) Thank you!!!

Anyways, this is it from my side for this week’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil. I loved loved loveddd it & I must say Maya Ali looked absolutely gorgeous during the engagement scene. Hareem Farooq is such a strong actor & I really wish she opts for more such characters that allow her to elaborate her acting skills like this. I loveddd all the scenes of Agha Jaan because Sir Abid Ali makes sure we enjoy his conversations with his family. I know it’s a bit random but I love the way Faarah has made shawls/scarves a part of her attire after Wali brought it to her notice, I know they have depicted a change of weather through that somehow but it also reflects how much Faarah respects Wali & what his words mean to her. Maya Ali perfectly described Faarah’s excitement when Wali started a conversation with her; those minute expressions told the story of her excitement & disappointment at the same time that he had nothing to say to her, about her. I absolutely love the way their relationship is being told, it’s absolutely sweet & spicy at the same time. :) Please share your beautiful thoughts about the beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil & oh, let’s congratulate Zarmeenay on getting engaged, haha! :)

ps: Well, I know that a lot of people read Diyar-e-Dil’s reviews, that is why I am using it to convey my message to HUM TV that where we all know about Bin Roye’s success, we also know that it’s been more than 2 months since its release so to see its trailers almost 100 times a day is now taking a toll on me (& I am sure on others too). So, I think it’s a high time to put a kibosh on its trailers because let’s admit, it’s almost a history now aur abb to dono Eids ghuzar gain! Please HUM TV, move on & start promoting some other movies & if not, at least stop promoting Bin Roye post-release because it doesn’t make much sense! Thank you!

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 28! <3

Ohkay so, shall I say that again? Yes, you guessed it right, I am in loveee with this drama & this episode was equally special. I love love love the way they are showcasing the feelings of all the characters because it makes us connect & relate to them on a very different level. Honestly, to see the ticker of Episode # 28 made my heart sink because it dawned on me that Diyar-e-Dil would be ending soon & I had a little sobbing session too because I just don’t want it to end. :/

So, finally, Moeez Tajjamul Wali ke haathon to nahi lekin Faarah ke haathon zaya ho hi gaya. I couldn’t stop laughing when Faarah was telling Moeez off because one, he deserved it, two, he asked for it & three, it showed how much Faarah’s in love with her husband Wali. All the things that Faarah said to Moeez told the story of how much respect she has for her grandfather & what Wali means to her. I must say I love how the trait of honesty has never been ignored in Faarah’s journey because when her character was introduced, they made sure to let us know that Faarah’s all about being honest & that is why, all the things she said to Moeez were a perfect reminder of that. It takes a lot of courage to accept your faults & even admit your feelings no matter how misleading they were & this is exactly what Faarah did. Without blaming anyone, without looking for excuses & without beating around the bush, she straight away told Moeez that she was never interested in him & didn’t want a relationship of that sort with him too. I think it was very brave of Faarah to accept that she once considered Moeez’s proposal but not anymore because she herself can’t stand the idea of being labeled as someone with a stained character. I loved how Faarah left Moeez speechless & didn’t give him a chance to utter more gibberish because honestly, she has had enough & that is why she reminded him again that she won’t let anyone disrespect Agha Jaan & Wali; her grandfather & her husband. I think Maya Ali was brilliant in that scene because I don’t know why but I feel the love Faarah has for Wali was evident in that scene; through her eyes & her expressions especially, because when she was letting Moeez know that he’s making things difficult for her, it kind of highlighted how eager she is to make things work with her husband, her Wali; the one she loves!

I loved the way Faarah reached out to Agha Jaan for some guidance because after Behroz, it is only Agha Jaan who can comfort her & lead her towards the right path. That whole conversation was written brilliantly where Agha Jaan used his own example to explain what Faarah should do & what approach she must resort to in order to mend her relationship with Wali & Arjumand. The way Agha Jaan put forth his own experience, feelings & his efforts of making things right was a perfect way of explaining things to Faarah. The conversation where Agha Jaan slightly told Arjumand to give Faarah a chance was very intelligent, it went to show that Agha Jaan clearly understood the things that Faarah didn’t even mention because he himself can see how hard she’s been trying to win Arjumand over. I must say I really liked the way Zarmeenay tried to rationalize Faarah’s previous mistakes & behavior in front of her mother as well. Zarmeenay has understood exactly what Wali used to tell her about Faarah that she is under the bad influence of her mother, that is why she is behaving that way & it was very sweet of Zarmeenay to repeat the exact same words because it went to show that she can now relate to what Wali used to say about Faarah before. Even though Arjumand is being a bit too stern but somehow I understand her state of mind. Faarah is the one who caused distress to her beloved son & insulted her father-like Agha Jaan, that is why she is not ready to give her a chance as she accepted Faarah only because of Agha Jaan, Suhaib & Behroz but now when she knows that this is exactly what Faarah demanded, she thinks it’s best to let things be the way they are & she is in no mood to forgive Faarah. I am sure after analyzing the situation herself & after a little push from Agha Jaan, Arjumand will move on but I think she is right in her own accord where she is making it very clear that Faarah has to work hard in order to win her over.

Now talking about the conversation Faarah had with Wali. It was sweet, honest & heartfelt but sadly, the result of that conversation was not what Faarah (& we all) expected. Even though it took a lot for Faarah to muster up the courage & confess that she is ready to give this Nikkah a chance & even though she started off the conversation at a right note, she forgot to add a little detail that she herself has fallen in love with Wali & she wants to stay with him because of ‘him’ & not because of Agha Jaan, Suhaib, Behroz or anyone else. I guess that’s where Wali missed the whole point because he still thinks she wants to stay with him because she now wants to make Agha Jaan happy. I so wish Faarah had straight out told him the truth about how much she respects & loves him but she chose a different approach which Wali misunderstood once again. Wali on his own was right too, he really feels it would be unreasonable & against his dignity to stay married to Faarah when she doesn’t love him & he clearly said what he had on his mind. Wali’s honesty is commendable too, he only wanted Faarah to stay with Agha Jaan & that was the only ulterior motive behind bringing her to the Haveli. Obviously & once again, all the things Wali said to Faarah made her feel even more guilty because she felt bad for misunderstanding him & blaming him for all the things he never was responsible for. I so so so wish Faarah had told him then & there that she has fallen in love with him but I guess they’re saving the best bits for the last. :) It also is so very obvious that Wali still loves his wife; Faarah but he loves her enough to let go of her, for her own happiness & I can’t wait to see how he will realize that she doesn’t love anyone but him!

This episode was packed with a lot of emotions, some very sweet moments & some touching moments too. I can’t emphasize enough on how beautiful & refined Maya Ali looks in Diyar-e-Dil. I think whoever her stylist is; she should hire him/her for the rest of her life because they have done an amazing job on her. Maya Ali herself is really pretty but she has never looked this pretty before. I must say the camera work, the crisp picture quality & screenplay is making Diyar-e-Dil a treat to watch too, I think these are the little details that have given this drama a very unique feel. While watching Diyar-e-Dil, I always feel like a dream is being translated on my screen, it seems so surreal & beautiful. I absolutely love love love this drama & all the characters & actors (a few excluded of course). Osman Khalid Butt has been perfect as Wali & I think no one else could’ve done justice to his character. Hareem Farooq was phenomenal in this episode too because it’s been a while that she got this much screen time, the way she speaks through her expressions is amazing & it shows that she has come a long way in terms of acting too. In my opinion, all the credit goes to the director for bringing out the best in all these actors. Can’t wait for the next episode already & pleaseee share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

ps: Wishing you all a very Happy Eid in advance & oh, I just feel like mentioning that I typed this review with Henna-clad hands because…you guys are very special. <3 Have a great Eid! :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 27!

…& the awesomeness prevails. Just like Ruhina brain-fed Faarah against the awesome Diyar-e-Dil familia, I think by now, I must’ve brain-fed you guys by praising them again & again. I use the term solely for Agha Jaan’s family because they are the ones who make Diyar-e-Dil such a beautiful story & journey. I must say I am amazed how by the end of each & every episode I am left with a feeling for completion & contentment because every episode offers us something totally amazing. I’ve lost the count of how many times I have said this but I am absolutely in love with this drama!!!

So, this episode was once again dedicated to Faarah & her realizations. Faarah is being hard on herself now because of her motive behind coming to see Agha Jaan, which now makes her the culprit in her own eyes. Faarah thinks that no one would be able to forgive her if they ever come to know about the deal she had with Wali. Faarah is magnifying the problem at hand because she is mistaking Agha Jaan’s family once again. I think once Faarah will prove her love to them, they will accept her with all her faults just like they have done so far. Faarah came to the Haveli after she openly admitted that she wanted a divorce from Wali & also wanted her share of the property, but why can’t she see that just immediately after that incident, she was welcomed with open arms by Agha Jaan & because of him, her stay was somewhat a smooth sail. For now, Faarah is shaken by the strong sense of guilt which is deterring her from looking at the brighter side of the picture. The change she has brought in herself is enough for others to see that she is doing each & everything for everyone with utmost love, loyalty & sincerity. I think it is such a beautiful period of her life where she has changed herself completely but she herself can’t see the positivity she is resonating. Faarah is trying even harder because she feels she has wronged everyone but for now she is unable to see that this is exactly what will shape things up for her. Even though, the guilt inside her makes her hysterical but there was something very innocent & pure about the way she let her tears flow & seeing her this way took me back to those times where they made it very clear that Faarah was very innocent & clean-hearted. All this while she was putting up an act, she was carrying a facade of being someone she wasn’t, that is why now when the burden has become overbearing, she is trembling because she can’t take it anymore. Faarah is tired of being someone she is not & she trying hard to pick up the pieces & be who she is.

One of the most beautiful parts of this episode was Faarah’s dependence on Wali. She herself doesn’t know why she is finding it so comfortable to speak to Wali. Faarah doesn’t know why the moment she sees him, she wants to give words to each & every thought that’s crossing her mind. Faarah has started confiding in him without expecting anything in return & that’s what defines the gravity of their relationship with each other. Even though Wali is pretty clear in his mind that he needs to put an end to this relation because this is exactly what Faarah demanded, but Faarah’s transition is taking him by shock & surprise at times leaving him speechless as he himself is unable to comprehend Faarah’s state of mind. Wali is still unsure what Faarah wants that is why he is trying really hard to maintain a distance because he learnt it the hard way. I love how different their approach has become where previously, Wali wanted to do everything to protect their relationship but now he has prepared himself for the worst & then there’s Faarah who wanted to put an end to this relation initially but now has had a change of heart completely. The way Faarah is reminded of Behroz’s words again & again is very sweet. Indeed, there are certain lessons, certain words of our parents that stay with us even after they’re gone & this is exactly why Faarah has started to understand Behroz’s point of view because even though his decision must’ve been hard on her, his farsightedness has struck a chord & this is exactly why she now understands the reason behind Behroz’s haste in getting her married to Wali.

I must say, I love the way they have shown Agha Jaan as a binding factor of this family. It only took a second for Zarmeenay to realize that Faarah has changed completely because she saw the sincerity in her prayers regarding Agha Jaan. I love how special Agha Jaan is for all of them & how he brings the whole family together. The love that they share for Agha Jaan is also one of the reasons why they all stand together because that is their strength & this is exactly what Faarah wants to experience as well. The sight of a family coming together for Agha Jaan made Faarah realize what was missing from her life & that is why she has started to focus on him completely because she knows the love of Agha Jaan is exactly what will bring the rest of the family close to her too.

I loved the conversation between Faarah & Zarmeenay. The way Zarmeenay complimented Faarah for how she owned her mistakes was brilliant. It almost felt like Zarmeenay said all such things that we have noticed about Faarah all this while too. The beginning of their friendship was one of the most beautiful parts of this episode & the excitement that Zarmeenay showed after knowing Faarah’s intention of staying with them for the rest of her life was really sweet. Zarmeenay could see that this decision of Faarah will only bring happiness in their lives but just now when Faarah has Zarmeenay on her side, I think it will become a lot easier for her to reach out to Arjumand & Wali too. Finally, our heroine has given words to the biggest secret & that is, her wish to stay married to Wali, wo hoo! :) Can’t wait to see how she will win him over! <3 In my opinion, this episode was just so beautiful that I don't feel like discussing Tajjamul & Co. in this review, I think it will ruin it completely however, I do have a suggestion for the actress playing the character of Zohra; that she should & she must drink a glass of water before delivering her dialogues because her throat seems so dry & making it look like it takes a lot of effort for her to deliver her dialogues & project her voice. I loved Maya Ali in this episode too, she has started to look just so pretty & there's something about her aura that is very appeasing to see. I have always liked Maya Ali for her effortless acting but she has outdone herself in Diyar-e-Dil completely, which makes me an even bigger fan of her. Osman Khalid Butt has been a treat to watch too & oh, I was relieved to see our beloved Agha Jaan completing the family picture by the end of the episode. I almost started missing him throughout the episode but was happy to see him back & I also loved how all his grandchildren were attending him, making him feel comfortable & engaging in some lighthearted conversation concerning his health. Yes, even though it is needless to say but I’ll say it anyway, I absolutely love & adore this family. Please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :) Keep Supporting, Cheers,

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 26!

Ohkay so, despite being slow, this episode was enjoyable & I had a great time watching it. I find it quite interesting the way they have given a lot of time & space to each & every character & its feelings, because of which we can relate to them & understand what they are going through. They have added such reality to each & every situation that you can’t resist relating to them or feeling for them & this is the beauty of Diyar-e-Dil.

So, this episode was completely dedicated to Faarah Behroz Khan. It was all about the final push that she needed to recollect & prioritize things in her life. It was all about her questions getting answered that will now help her in understanding herself & everyone else accurately. Faarah has always loved Agha Jaan because after Behroz she saw a father figure in him but there was something that prevented her to be comfortable around him & that only thing was her question related to Agha Jaan’s decision of enforcing a Nikkah on her & Wali. That entire scene & conversation between Agha Jaan & Faarah was done to perfection where it showed that Agha Jaan was never oblivious of what Faarah used to think & go through emotionally. Agha Jaan tried to draw his granddaughter closer to himself but his wisdom made him realize that there was still some wall that Faarah was trying to knock down before being completely convinced about him. The way he introduced Faarah to her new abode & all the things he said about her privacy made Faarah a little more confused as she never could’ve imagined that Agha Jaan would be so courteous & considerate to be even worried about how she has never been comfortable with the idea of a joint family. At that particular moment, the expression on Faarah’s face (depicted beautifully by Maya Ali) said it all. Faarah’s mind & heart once again were at a battle where she didn’t know who to side with as the Agha Jaan Ruhina told her about was completely different to the Agha Jaan she herself was interacting with & that is why when she realized that she has always misunderstood Agha Jaan, she reduced to tears because she was letting go of the burden she was carrying all this while. I absolutely loved that scene & found it very heart-warming because finally, after so many years, Agha Jaan got to clarify himself; he has held himself responsible, he has apologized but this was the very first time when he got to explain himself & finally he did it. Even though the ending of that perfect moment between Agha Jaan & his granddaughter Faarah was tragic, it at least happened after he got a chance to say each & everything that he had on his mind so that makes it a little tolerable.

I understand the concerns Zarmeenay has regarding Agha Jaan & I also agree to what she had to say to Faarah because one way or the other, Faarah has always caused distress to Agha Jaan but for the first time I found Zarmeenay’s dialogues a little repetitive & I didn’t like Maryam’s acting as well. I am finding it hard to enjoy her scenes but I know they fit well with the situation so Yay for that. After being confronted rather insulted by Zarmeenay, all the things that ran through Faarah’s mind were elaborated perfectly. It must’ve been a hard day for Faarah but when she’d look back, she’d cherish it because this was the day when she realized how wrong she was & she let go of all the negativity & misapprehensions she had against Agha Jaan & his family. The sight of Wali crying & praying for Agha Jaan was another eye-opener for her because she saw for the first time what Agha Jaan means to Wali & she didn’t let any negativity cloud her judgment that is why for the first time she was clear about what she was seeing & she realized how pure his intentions were. Wali never wanted to blackmail Faarah & he never wanted her to feel guilty, he just wanted her to make Agha Jaan happy & this is the first time Faarah understood that, that is why she confided in him & accepted her defeat in front of him. It was yet another beautiful scene & now when I think about it, this episode was filled with so many beautiful moments that it brings warmth to my heart. :)

Sadly, Moeez is so blinded by the potential profit of his business that he has started to resort to cheap tactics, where he is once again planning & plotting to trap Faarah. He definitely is insulting Faarah’s intelligence by thinking that a few gifts would be enough for her to scurry back to him. For the first time, I thought Tajjamul was concerned & rightly so because he could see that this rage & craving to achieve his goals was turning Moeez into a monster. Zohra obviously can’t see that but Tajjamul was shaken after he analyzed the situation. I don’t know why but I really hope that Tajjamul realizes his mistakes & tells Moeez to stop playing with Faarah’s life & Ruhina’s feelings. I hope for a change we get to see that there’s someone sane enough in Ruhina’s family.

This episode was beautiful as usual & it was filled with even more beautiful details. The way Wali prayed & the way Arjumand recited Holy Qur’an while sitting in a hospital depicted a story of everyone’s life where you pray even harder if you see someone dear to you suffering from the fragility of health. I loved that they included this tiny little detail, it was beautiful. I think going by the things Agha Jaan said & what Faarah thought later, all those who have always blamed Agha Jaan would now understand that this man has done it all, he has compensated enough for a small mistake that he committed many years ago & I guess everyone is entitled to be forgiven if they yearn for forgiveness with so much sincerity. I think Ruhina should let go of her anger because if it weren’t for Agha Jaan, Ruhina & Faarah both would’ve suffered a lot at the hands of Tajjamul & co. Yes, things didn’t go Ruhina’s way in the initial days of her marriage but if she’d look back, she will understand that she has had a fulfilling past & now a very comforting & secure present & future & that is all because of Agha Jaan. Needless to say, Osman Khalid Butt, Maya Ali & Abid Ali were perfect in this episode too. They have given us such brilliant performances that I am grateful to them. Please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 25! <3

Ohkay so, this episode of Diyar-e-Dil was brilliant as always & it took the story forward too because looks like where a lot of aspects got covered & few things are coming to a closure as well. I really like the way the director & the writer have taken their sweet time in revealing the story & taking things forward because it has given us a lot of time to understand each one of them properly where we now can look through them & understand what they’re going through.

I absolutely loved the opening scene between Agha Jaan, Faarah & Wali. “My handsome Agha Jaan”, it was really sweet of Faarah to share some laughter with her grandfather, this is exactly what she yearned for & this is exactly what Agha Jaan & Wali wanted too. Wali’s expression told a story of how happy he was seeing his grandfather having a good time with his granddaughter but sadly, Moeez’s entry made things worse & forced him to misunderstand Faarah. To be honest, even though the role reversal has made the story even more interesting, I really do feel for Faarah now because Wali is misunderstanding her for all the wrong reasons & she is trying to do everything Wali demanded from her but the difference is, she isn’t doing it forcefully as, she herself wants to make Agha Jaan happy now. Moeez came like a dark cloud & ruined everything for Faarah as well as Wali. Just when Wali started to see that Faarah & Agha Jaan were having a great time together, Moeez’s visit compelled Wali to think the otherwise & that is why he accused Faarah of being an actor & for playing with Agha Jaan’s feelings. I really didn’t want Faarah to hear all that, that too after she has been through so much. I really thought may be Wali’d be able to see through her transition but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I don’t blame Wali either because he has seen Faarah at her worse all these years, so it was imperative that he wouldn’t have misunderstood her. Wali knows what no one else knows; like Faarah accepting a ring from Moeez, Faarah leaving college with Moeez & Faarah receiving his phone calls, so this was enough for Wali to convince himself that Faarah was still not doing everything from her heart & it was all an act to begin with because she was eager to free herself from their Nikkah. To be honest, I really felt bad when I didn’t see Faarah retaliating in front of Wali, she didn’t say a word because she actually was quite hurt to know that her love for Agha Jaan was being understood. The way she walked with her body language embodying defeat actually made me feel for her because for once, she was at a happy place after Behroz’s death & that was being taken away from her only because of Moeez.

Any sympathies with Ruhina, people? Yes, I know the answer is still no. She is getting just exactly what she deserves for trusting wrong people all her life & for doubting her husband & his family. Ruhina could never in her wildest dream imagine that of all the people, Moeez would be the one who’d misbehave with her that too in front of his parents & they wouldn’t say a word to him. Tajjamul did try to cover up what his son did but Ruhina was too absorbed in the self-pity once again. The way she tried to convey a message of how hurt she was made me say ‘not again’ because this is exactly what she has done all her life. Ruhina needs to snap out of the ‘I’m a victim’ phase & needs to understand that the world doesn’t revolve around her anymore, at least it did when Behroz was alive because she was a center of his universe but too bad, she stepped on him & didn’t pay him back at all for being sincere to her for 20 years of his life.

I actually enjoyed the scene between Arjumand & Faarah too. Arjumand waited quite patiently for her departure but now when she saw that Faarah’s not going anywhere & she got to see the comfort zone that Agha Jaan & Faarah were sharing, she took it as her duty to remind her that she shouldn’t do anything anymore that would distress Agha Jaan. I really like the way Zarmeenay & Arjumand make sure that nothing ever happens to Agha Jaan because for them, he is everything, he’s the head of their family & he’s their father. Just when Wali got relaxed thinking Faarah has come to her senses & he didn’t need to bother about her anymore, Moeez’s entry made him & Arjumand doubtful about Faarah once again. Arjumand has her reservations when it comes to Faarah because she knows that Faarah demanded a divorce & Wali knows exactly why, that is why Faarah now has to do everything to subside their misunderstanding but before that, she has to be very cautious of the trap Moeez’s weaving around her.

The mention of General Feroze & Laila brought a smile to my face. I love how the connection with them wasn’t lost even though they were never given a lot of screen time but the relation Agha Jaan & General Feroze shared was given such a detailed coverage in the beginning that their friendship remains very special. Zarmeenay & Ebaad’s proposal will bring some good times for Agha Jaan’s family but I loved how strategically this part was introduced that too when Faarah was in the Haveli because I knew that this will lead Faarah to question Agha Jaan about the forced Nikkah between her & Wali & she will get all the answers that she was looking for. This is the only thing that needs to be cleared because then only Faarah will be able to see that just like her Wali was forced into this relation too but he accepted it gracefully & not only that, he respected his wife & gave her love too but she always doubted him & accused him for something he himself wasn’t responsible for. I loved the conversation Faarah had with Agha Jaan about her picture; it made her realize that she has once in her life met Suhaib too.

Overall, it was such a perfect episode with some amazing dialogues & conversations. I love this chirpy & happy Faarah much more than the angry bird Faarah, hehe. Also, I love how very little gestures done by these actors make every episode complete. The way Arjumand made Wali eat some fruits while he was rubbing Agha Jaan’s feet made them all look like one perfect family that overcame the tough times together & now were having some good time after the dust has settled. I must say, Ahmad Zeb has been so convincing as Moeez, that he deserves a round of applause. I think of all the villains in this drama, he has been the most interesting character & Ahmad Zeb has done justice to Moeez’s role completely. I must say, the different shots of the location makes it look all very genuine & gives this drama & it’s story a lot of depth; almost making me feel that some parallel world exists somewhere & has some people that are going through such situations that we all can relate to, massive props to the team of Diyar-e-Dil for choosing such a perfect place & making it absolutely amazing for all of us. Also, I don’t want to make this discussion all about the next episode but what Faarah said about Agha Jaan in the preview’s making me depressed already. Please don’t let anything happen to himmm, please please pleaseee!!! Anyways, please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 24!

Ohkay so, it was such a heartwarming episode of Diyar-e-Dil tonight. I must say all the actors have portrayed their characters so well that they have formed the connection of another level with us. Indeed, Diyar-e-Dil has been a complete package but such a phenomenal acting that stirs the emotions makes it even better. I must confess, after ‘Shanakht’, ‘Diyar-e-Dil’ is going to stay with me for a long long time & for that I am grateful to the whole team of this drama starting from the Writer to the Director to all the Actors.

Finally, the truth won Faarah over & finally, after a long long time, she has realized that this is the place to be & this is where she exactly belongs. Her stroll around the Haveli, constants reminders of Behroz’s presence & things related to him made Faarah realize that she isn’t meant to be anywhere else. In the battle between her mind & heart, her heart has finally won because it automatically got drawn towards where she is supposed to be. Ever since Faarah has come to Haveli, she has always felt connected to this place, she has always found an inner peace that she never experienced before, and therefore even though it took her a long time, she has finally accepted Agha Jaan, his love, his sincerity & his pure intentions. Even though Faarah has yet to fall in love with her husband; Wali, I have loved every bit of her transition from a confused person to someone who now has figured out everything on her own & I am sure, there’s no turning back. She has always longed for a family, she has always loved being pampered & after Behroz, it was only Agha Jaan who did all that for her, so it is imperative that she will ever be going back to Ruhina again. Faarah loves being with Agha Jaan & that’s a stepping stone towards her decision of staying with him & everyone else for the rest of her life.

I loved seeing the sigh of relief coming from Wali. His plan of bringing Agha Jaan & Faarah together has succeeded & that was all that he wanted. I really felt happy seeing Wali pleased because he now knows that Faarah has stopped misunderstanding Agha Jaan & she now knows that Agha Jaan loves her a lot. Yes, all the things he said to Faarah brought her to this point because he wanted to shake & wake her up & for that I am glad that he blew the whistle because only then Faarah understood that she was holding onto her ego & Ruhina’s brain feeding for all the wrong reasons. I am so glad that Wali held his ground & never crossed the line of decency with Faarah even after being pushed to the limit. Wali showed that it takes a lot to be a man & he proved to be a gentleman throughout. He wanted to make things right for Agha Jaan & now when that has happened, he has stopped bothering Faarah at all because he knows that Faarah herself will take care of Agha Jaan & wouldn’t need his instructions anymore.

Zarmeenay still can’t accept the fact that Faarah is sharing Agha Jaan’s love but I loved how Arjumand made her realize that if Agha Jaan is happy; she shouldn’t be bothered at all. Zarmeenay might be saying all this purely out of jealousy or also out of her sheer concern for Agha Jaan because she herself has seen that every single time Faarah & Ruhina came in contact with Agha Jaan, they caused him stress & nothing else. I love how Arjumand always keeps a check on how her children behave because she doesn’t want to feel ashamed in front of Agha Jaan. I also really appreciate the fact that they have shown how everyone takes care of Agha Jaan & his feelings because they have never shared their difference of opinion in front of him, it shows they all are very courteous when it comes to Agha Jaan & don’t believe in burdening him with their concerns at all. This is what usually happens in most of the households where grandparents are treated with utmost attention, love & respect & I must say, to see such nice bonding & seeing a head of the family being treated so nicely on TV screen is a breath of fresh air.

The highlights of this episode for me were the conversations that Wali & Faarah, & Agha Jaan & Faarah had. I absolutely loved seeing Agha Jaan clarifying his stance in front of Faarah & Faarah crying her heart out to him because she was already feeling suffocated & she needed to let go of the burden that was tearing her apart, & yes, I did cry, not a bucket but enough to grab a tissue paper because that scene was so touching.

Oh well, Meesna Moeez wasn’t so Meesna after all, innit? It was a shocker to know that it was Moeez who suggested Faarah should inherit her part of the property because in his own peanut sized brain, he has accepted her as his fiancée & he thinks he owns Faarah & everything that belongs to her. Even though I am glad that Faarah is away from all of them, I am also happy that Ruhina is stuck between them because she needs to learn her lesson for sure. Moeez is eager & is now losing his cool because he has his business partner pressurizing him to fend for the finances for their new business & I am sure this is what will force Moeez to show his true colors to Ruhina because he already is feeling burdened & doesn’t know how to figure a way out of this.

The preview of the next episode was engaging as well. I am sure Agha Jaan will try to ease Faarah’s pain because he has pretty much understood that Faarah is not into this relationship as he has noticed already how Faarah always tries to change the topic whenever he’s speaking about Wali. I must say, Maya Ali looked extremely pretty in this particular episode. Her pale face depicted the unease she was feeling & later a little color on her cheeks showed how she felt much better by letting go of her fears after speaking to Agha Jaan, I must say the makeup artists deserve a special mention for their awesome work & so do the stylists because I think it has been a while since we got to see a stylish heroine clad in long coats & Maya Ali really has carried herself well in Diyar-e-Dil. Osman Khalid Butt looked great too in his horseback riding ensemble, also he looks so mature & responsible whenever he wears a Shawl over Shalwar Kameez, it gives him a very refined & genteel look. The stars of this episode were Abid Ali, Maya Ali & Osman Khalid Butt for sure. They make their scenes such a treat to watch but yes OKB deserves a special mention for such a phenomenal acting in the confrontation scene because his expressions were so controlled & he elaborated Wali’s state of mind perfectly. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your beautiful thoughts with us about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 23!

Ohkay so, another week, another amazing episode & another set of brilliant performances in Diyar-e-Dil. This drama has given us so much & I am so glad to have been able to enjoy this journey so far, it really shows what an amazing script it is & how beautifully it has been directed. Each & every episode till date has offered us something different & unique where we get to know & learn more about all these amazing characters. I must say the way they are revealing different aspects & traits of all these actors elevates the level of the drama a couple of notches because mostly in our dramas, by this stage there’s nothing left to be explored in all the characters but hats off to Farhat Ishtiyaq for making it all so gripping & engaging.

It was good to see that honesty’s all that Faarah has got, that is why when she was forced to act like a Miss Goody-two-shoes in front of Agha Jaan, she found it beneath her to do so. I liked the fact that where at one hand she is eager to get out of here, she doesn’t believe in stooping low from her level, which shows that she has a strong sense of self-esteem & self-policing that is why even in such an intense situation, she doesn’t want to let go of her values & morals. The way she wore a stole on Wali’s demand indicated two things, one of which was obvious that she is ready to go to any length to set herself free from this marriage but the other thing that got highlighted was that may be she understands Wali’s perspective as she herself can see that all the demands he’s putting forth have nothing to do with him but Agha Jaan, his family & to some extent the norms of the Haveli as well, that is why just a single reminder from him was enough for her to do what she said she wouldn’t do. Even though Faarah has always been someone who has always wanted to spend her life according to her own wishes & rules, she never got a chance to do so that is why may be she has become a bit more submissive but the difference is, this time she is being submissive for good things & is not falling prey to unnecessary negative emotional blackmailing. All she has to do now is to reciprocate some affection towards Agha Jaan & that is why unconsciously she is feeling a lot more peace inside her than she expected because it is for the first time she is not being forced to do things she doesn’t agree with.

I really can’t emphasize enough on the fact how each & every time I get to see a massive difference between Arjumand & Ruhina. Even though Arjumand knows that Zarmeenay doesn’t like being around Faarah, she didn’t encourage her once & told her to be courteous which was taught to her. Arjumand didn’t allow Zarmeenay to ignore Faarah & say whatever she wanted to because she knows this is not how Zarmeenay has been brought up. Even though Arjumand herself is unhappy with Faarah being in the Haveli, she has not said a single word about it to Zarmeenay, which shows she doesn’t believe in pulling people apart & then there comes Ruhina, who just once saw that Faarah was being nice to Agha Jaan, she told her not to get carried away & started brain feeding her against him. It really shows how different these two women are, where one is a woman of substance & the other is just a Negative Nancy.

Well well well, the way Meesna Moeez spoke to Tajjamul authoritatively & the way he highlighted that Tajjamul couldn’t do one thing rightly really told a story of how he has some ulterior motives too. It was too obvious that he wasn’t saying all that because he was concerned for Faarah but it looked like he was worried about something entirely different, something that he wants but can’t get now because Faarah is away. The preview of the next episode confirmed my suspicion but I really want Moeez to give Ruhina some hard time too.

Haha, even though Wali is giving Faarah such a tough time, even though he is not leaving any chance of taunting her that he gets, I still find their scenes really enjoyable. I love the way Faarah defends herself & takes a stand in front of Wali & I also like how Wali keeps on reminding her about what she is supposed to do. I must say, even though I really like Wali’s character, every other episode gives me something even better to like Wali even more. It was so nice to see him inviting Faarah for lunch & dinner every single time. Even though he doesn’t want to give this relation a chance & he has made his mind of putting an end to it, he still doesn’t want to give such hints to anyone where they can mistreat Faarah at all. Wali really is trying hard to maintain a balance where even though he knows that his mother & sister aren’t happy with Faarah’s arrival, he is not allowing his personal bitterness get in a way & stop him from being a gentleman that he is. Very subtly he is also putting a message across that till the moment Faarah is in their home, he wouldn’t allow anyone to misbehave with her. I also liked that after her conversation with Wali, Arjumand didn’t bring that topic into the discussion again. Arjumand had a lot of chances to talk against Faarah & share her agitation with Zarmeenay but she chose to stay silent because she believes in Wali’s decision & doesn’t doubt her son at all, which is another beautiful aspect of the mother-son bonding.

Overall, it was a beautiful episode. I really love how Agha Jaan is all happy to see his grandchildren taking care of him. Faarah’s presence really makes a difference & just because Arjumand & Zarmeenay can see how happy & relieved Agha Jaan is, they are quiet too. I must say Maya Ali looks really nice & I love her wardrobe too, looks like they completely changed her styling ever since she has come to the Haveli & she really looks polished & chic. Osman Khalid Butt looks nice too & so does everyone else. I am glad that they put a lot of effort on their appearances too because it does make a lot of difference & makes it all very pleasant to see. I loved the camera work in this episode especially because all those wide angles & different shots made it an absolute treat to watch. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Diyar-e-Dil with us & oh, needless to say, the wait for next episode begins right now!

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 22!

Ohkay so, things are getting quite intense & serious now in Diyar-e-Dil but it still is a treat to watch in so many ways. I enjoyed watching this episode for sure. I can’t wait to see Faarah’s transition & I can’t wait to see how she will incline towards her family; her Agha Jaan & her Wali.

This episode was all about Wali & Faarah’s deal. Finally, Wali has spilled the beans as to why he dragged Faarah from Lahore to their guest house, he wanted to put things into perspective that too his way. He has gone through enough & he has seen Agha Jaan suffering enough, that is why he made sure to convey the message loud & clear to Faarah as to how he doesn’t care much about her anymore & the only person that matters to him is Agha Jaan so he will go to any lengths to make him happy. At times, Wali did become a bit too stern with Faarah but when he needed to, he softened his tone to make her understand what he wanted. I liked the fact that Wali didn’t beat around the bush & came straight to his point of interest; he chose his words wisely & with a lot of honesty, which I feel was the thing that convinced Faarah to agree to Wali’s deal the most.

Faarah on her own did some thinking & reflected upon how this deal wasn’t a bad idea to begin with. For her, the thing she wants the most for now is to get divorced from Wali but I liked how she recalled what her father told her, ‘jo bhi faisla karna dil se karna, lekin shert ye hai ke dil aaine ki tarhaan saaf hona chahiye’, this is something that hit her the most & served more as a reality check because Faarah’s heart is not at all free from prejudice against both; Agha Jaan & Wali. I am sure this is something she will understand pretty soon that her decision of filing from divorce didn’t come straight from her heart, but was instilled in her by her mother; Ruhina, who isn’t clean-hearted at all. Faarah will understand that her heart never allowed her to do the things she was told rather forced to do & that will change her completely because the way she spoke about the ongoing war of ego between Ruhina & Agha Jaan indicated how she is well aware of the fact that Ruhina doesn’t care about her daughter as well.

I absolutely loved the way Agha Jaan welcomed Faarah warmheartedly, this is why Faarah also couldn’t stop herself from getting overwhelmed. Even though Behroz & Ruhina have loved her all her life, but after Behroz, Faarah never got the love she yearned for & it is only Agha Jaan who connected to her on that level, that is why every now & then we do get to see her thinking about Agha Jaan, which makes me happy for her. Yes, as much as Faarah has remained unreasonable, she also has been the one who wanted to keep things simple & uncomplicated, she was the one who was dignified enough to remind her mother repeatedly about how shameless she was being by using Agha Jaan’s money ruthlessly. I feel Faarah is also the one who has suffered the most after she lost Behroz because her life turned upside down & she herself saw her mother turning into a monster who wasn’t even ready to budge & who wasn’t there for her daughter when she needed her the most, so yes, keeping these things in mind, I am happy that Faarah has finally come to the right place, yes, her journey was anything but nice, but if we look at the bigger picture, like Wali said, this is the perfect scenario that would benefit each & every one of them.

For me, the star of this episode was Hareem Farooq. I loved her acting tonight, she really has outdone herself & she has given a perfect face, perfect personality & perfect aura to the character of Arjumand. For Arjumand’s sake, I really wished that Wali would tell her about the deal between him & Faarah but he chose to remain silent. Even though the way Wali explained himself & the whole situation to his mother was spot on, but I do believe Arjumand deserved that much of an explanation from Wali because indirectly, she has suffered at the hands of Ruhina & Faarah as well by seeing her father-like father-in-law & her beloved son worried & restless due to this mother-daughter duo. Arjumand’s pain & anguish was justified & just like everyone else, she has a reason to be angry as well because her life has always revolved around her people & Faarah isn’t one of them. I loved the way Faarah bluntly refused to do any such thing that Ruhina ordered her, this way, Ruhina will understand that leaving Faarah alone to punish her wasn’t a good idea at all & also she will understand that she is the one who has driven Faarah away from herself. I am glad that even though all this has started on a bitter note where Faarah was abandoned by her mother & she didn’t get treated nicely by Wali, this will eventually end up being one of the best things that happened to her.

I loved how attention to detail is a part of every episode because the way Faarah came bare footed out of the boat told the story of how she was dragged without even getting a chance to grab the essentials however, I really think they have ignored the travelling time between Lahore & Gilgit & also they haven’t justified the geographical locations of these places because they already were in Skardu when Wali spoke about going to Islamabad on his way to Haveli which already is in Gilgit & falls right before it, hehe, but never mind, these things really don’t take away from the fact that Diyar-e-Dil is one amazing drama & the hard work of the whole team behind making this drama is evident every step of the way. Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode & thank you for waiting for the review. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 21!

*Oh My God*, *Whistles*, *Hi5*, Whistles & some more Whistles! Ohkay so (on high demand of my dear readers), this episode of Diyar-e-Dil was absolutely brilliant, I loved it, I loved it, I loveddd it. It was so well directed & right from the beginning till the end, it offered us everything that we all were waiting for. I must thank the director Haseeb Hassan for directing Diyar-e-Dil oh so brilliantly because this episode really made me say ‘itnay arsay baad kisi drama ko dekhne ka maza aa gaya’.

Even though this whole episode was a highlight of the drama for me but the scene that I really loved was the showdown between Faarah, Ruhina, Tajjamul & Zohra. I am so glad that Faarah has shown her real side; the side that we all loved before, the side which shows that she is a logical, reasonable & sane person who knows how to put two & two together & the side that shows that Faarah also knows how to differentiate right from wrong. I am so glad that even though it took her a lot of time & courage to say these words, she waited for the right time to make her family realize that she isn’t oblivious of what they have been doing since the day she got married to Wali & Agha Jaan decided to bear her expenses. It was a high time Faarah told her mother that she won’t fall prey to her emotional blackmailing & I was over the moon when I heard her say those words because the way Ruhina along with Tajjamul planned to grab a chunk of property from Agha Jaan was something that they deserved to get insulted for. Faarah has a high self-esteem & dignity that is why she was always in a state of confusion when she saw her mother using Agha Jaan’s money but never ever acknowledging him for all that he has been doing for them. It was a perfect time for Faarah to tell everyone that she is Behroz’s daughter & not Ruhina’s. I just didn’t want Faarah to stop Ruhina from leaving & I thought it was very wise of her to do so because this way she told her mother that all these tactics won’t make her budge anymore & that she has had enough. Even though Faarah might not have understood that all the love Agha Jaan has been showering her with is genuine, but for starters she does understand that Ruhina is using her & her mother has been wrong right from day one.

I am glad that Tajjamul & Zohra also faced the brunt for the things they have been doing. ‘Lagai Bhujai’ is just exactly what Zohra has done all these years but Ruhina must take the crown for maligning everyone’s mind against her husband Behroz & who else could’ve been a perfect person to say that to Ruhina’s face except Faarah? I think now when Ruhina will take some time off & think about all the things that Faarah has said, she will understand that she has lost all the respect that Faarah had for her. I loved the exchange of glance between Tajjamul & Zohra when Faarah said she will decide what she would do with her bank balance, it shows how shallow & mean they are because they absolutely don’t care about Ruhina & all that they were worried about was the money they could earn through Faarah. That whole confrontation was thoroughly well-done & without over-doing anything, they conveyed Faarah’s state of mind with absolute perfection. I must say Maya Ali stole the show in the first half of the episode because this is the Faarah I was waiting for & she elaborated her perfectly in this episode. From now on, I just hope we get to see a strong-headed & composed Faarah & she doesn’t go back to being a toddler, because that’s not what we want to see & given the circumstances, she has to deal with everything with a lot more maturity.

Even though it was quite a short scene but I am so glad they always show Zarmeenay having a say or two about the current scenario. Her thoughts on Agha Jaan’s reports & her fear of losing her grandfather were heart-touching. Similarly, Arjumand’s conversations about each & every member of the family every time show that she is an important part of Wali’s life & she is the one Wali knows he can rely on. Even though he doesn’t want to burden her with the bitter truths but I find their interactions very genuine & sweet.

Ohkay, now shall I talk about the scene at which I & my sisters had a whistle-spree & a round of applause? Yes, I am talking about the scene where Wali, all dressed in a leather jacket goes to bring his ‘wife’ to Agha Jaan? Oh My God! Osman Khalid Butt NAILED IT. His body language, his expressions, the throw of his voice & the wrath in his eyes, each & every emotion of Wali in that particular moment was conveyed perfectly by OKB. As far as I heard, the writer here changed the scenario & made it a lot more dramatic & I am so glad that the writer did it because it this was a life-changing moment for Faarah & this scene had to be a dramatic game-changer. I feel the execution of these scenes justified why the writer must’ve changed the whole scenario & who doesn’t like a bit more drama within a drama? :)

I am so glad that finally Ruhina & Faarah have parted because this way, Faarah will get to have a clear vision & a clean perspective of her surroundings. She won’t be having a negative person to malign her heart & mind against her own people. She now wouldn’t have to worry about what her mother would think if she drew closer to her people. I am glad that Ruhina & Faarah parted on such a bitter note because this was necessary for Faarah to understand that if there’s someone that Ruhina genuinely cares about, that is Ruhina herself & no one else, not even her daughter. Ruhina is an insecure woman, who didn’t get the satisfaction even after snatching Behroz away from Agha Jaan, that is why she speaks about how Agha Jaan is doing the same with her in regards to Faarah. Ruhina’s insecurity also gets justified because every time she is made to face her wrongdoings, she opts for an easy way & walks out every single time because deep down she also knows she has nothing to justify her stance & everything that Faarah says is accurate about her. Ruhina knows how to play the blame game but when she is at the receiving end, she doesn’t have the guts to face it & accept it.

I loved all the conversations in this episode because all the dialogues were spot on. Faarah’s repeated mention about her money, her property & her bank balance hit the bull’s-eye because it showed that she has understood why even Tajjamul & Zohra were so much involved in hers & Ruhina’s matters. I must say this again, Maya Ali stole the show tonight, followed by our angry young man OKB. I am so glad that the casting directors chose Maya & OKB for the characters of Faarah & Wali & I am so glad that these two actors did justice to these characters. I can’t wait for the next episode already because this is getting so intense.

Oh! Before wrapping the review up, I must commend the director for paying special attention to detail, like the backdrop in the hospital scene took me back to the time when Arjumand was admitted to the hospital, because the furniture & the backdrop fitted that era & now when Arjumand & Wali were having a conversation in the hospital again, it depicted the current era. Also, the calendar showed the year 2014 in Ruhina & Irum’s scene because there’s still some story left which shows that a few months or even an year is left to be covered in this drama. Hats off to the whole team of Diyar-e-Dil for giving us quality entertainment after such a long long time. :) Please share your thoughts about this episode of Diyar-e-Dil & tell me again how amazing it was. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 20!

Oh My God!!! It was such an intense episode & it kept me at the edge of my seat. I absolutely love the events that are unfolding in Diyar-e-Dil. Usually I always talk about the actors by the end of my review but I am going to change the format this week because I think Osman Khalid Butt deserves a massive shout out for such a brilllliiiiiiiantttttttttt performance & I couldn’t wait to mention it. Hats off OKB! This episode belonged to you!

I know it would sound monotonous as I have said it before a million times that Moeez is despicable but then, when I think about him, no other word seem to personify him that is why I will say that again, Moeez is despicable & quiet an opportunist because the way he wanted Faarah to go to the same doctor that Agha Jaan arranged for her went to show that he didn’t have enough pennies in his wallet to take his ‘beloved’ cousin (as Wali puts it) somewhere else, or to an even better doctor than the one appointed by Agha Jaan. It really shows that even though he may come across as someone who’s genuinely in love with Faarah, he has some ulterior motives too because he has started to push his agenda a bit too much now.

I am glad that they haven’t shown a time lapse in writing but have taken the story forward in such a way that a dialogue or two suggest that a few years have passed by. Faarah is at the brink of completion of her MBBS & that is why it seems that Tajjamul, Zohra & Moeez are playing the final cards because they now know that they wouldn’t have to support Faarah or her education as by the time her divorce will be finalized, she would be done with her studies, so that means they would only have to worry about the bank balance & property she will inherit.

There was a time when I used to give Ruhina a benefit of doubt & also supported her in a way that she was entitled to take the time she needed to forgive Agha Jaan (even though it wasn’t necessary) but this time around, I have nothing but detest & hatred for her character & I think she really has worked hard to earn that. Ruhina is a shallow being who’s all talk because if she had the nerve to back the words that she used to blurt, she wouldn’t be stooping so low, where at one hand she would be living a luxurious life & on the other, would be cussing the one who was bearing all the burden of her & her family’s expenses. Ruhina is one of those who can never be happy & that in itself is a curse on her.

I am so glad that Arjumand was around all this while, that is why now when she stepped up, it didn’t look forced. She was there in the background, worrying about Wali & Agha Jaan, that is why now when the time was right, she knew she had to do something as she couldn’t tolerate seeing Agha Jaan & Wali suffering at the hands of Ruhina & Faarah anymore. Arjumand’s statements made quiet an impact because they came from a person who wasn’t irrational or wrongfully emotional & spoke when it really was necessary.

I must say, OKB nailed the confrontational scene but before talking about that, I would say that I am still not sure what to feel about Faarah because I don’t see clarity in her character. At one point she will come across as a level-headed girl who knows what she wants out of life & at the other, she will fall prey to everyone’s brain feeding & let them run the course of her life? I don’t really understand why is she so confused? Yes, she has been pretty clear about not wanting to be in a relationship with Wali & also she seems pretty comfortable with Moeez, so even after hearing the conversation between Ruhina & Tajjamul, she chose to go out for a dinner date with Moeez, & just when he proposed to her, she went in a trance where she unwillingly was ready to accept his proposal but made it look like she couldn’t make up her mind. She knows what her family wants from her & she has pretty much agreed on the same lines too, so why all of a sudden it looked like there was some sort of a block on her thoughts that she didn’t know how to deal with?

Well, talking about the restaurant scene, I must say all the dialogues were so well-written & I didn’t mind seeing Faarah getting insulted because this is really something she signed up for. Each & every word that Wali said was spot on because he didn’t just love her but he respected her as well & to see his wife accepting someone else’s proposal made him lose his mind & rightly so, that is why Wali had the right to say whatever crossed his mind. Another best thing about that scene was the way Wali dealt with Moeez & the way Moeez reached for his chair after he got insulted, lol. He is such a chicken I must say. I am so glad that our hero finally made an entry with a bang & he is a force to reckon with, so glad that the Meesna Moeez now knows that Wali is not someone to be taken lightly because he knows how to bring his enemies down.

All this while, Ruhina said she only wanted what was best for her daughter & what more could she have done to prove her love that now she is ready to drag her young daughter in the court, just because her ego is not allowing her to accept the decision Behroz made for Faarah? I really thought Faarah would be able to analyze the situation well but I really find it hard to believe that she gives in every time her mother throws a hissy fit while emotionally blackmailing her. Faarah did understand her mother’s irrationality but looks like in these past couple of years she has become immune to all that jazz herself. Also, I really think it was quite immature of Faarah to doubt Agha Jaan just for the sake of it because she chooses to believe what she has heard from Ruhina & ignore her personal experience with him where he has been showering her with love, care & attention all these years!

Yes, what Wali did was quite intimidating but that doesn’t mean Faarah has to overlook her own mistake & hold him responsible for his rude behavior. All this while we did see Faarah reflecting upon the events that took place in her life, so why is it that she has completely blocked Wali off her mind & she is not ready to give him a chance. Wali has spent a few years with her, taking care of her, being nice to her, so why can’t Faarah see that? I think her decision of filing for a divorce was quite unreasonable as well, yes, she hasn’t accepted Wali as her life-partner but to use one incident against him makes Faarah an even bigger fool & then it reminds me that she is exactly like her mother; Ruhina, because she also took one bitter memory & made all the judgments about Agha Jaan based on that single bad experience.

I love love love the way Arjumand deals with Ruhina & this time around she chose not to stay silent about Tajjamul & Zohra too which was commendable. Being a mother, it is obvious that Arjumand feels for Wali as she knows he is working so hard to provide all the luxuries that Faarah & Ruhina are enjoying, that is why she felt it was her duty to remind Ruhina about it too. I really find it interesting that everyone in Haveli has become aware of Ruhina’s reality & that is why no one really remains silent on this matter anymore. Arjumand & Wali know that Ruhina is exploiting Agha Jaan’s favors & courtesy, that is why they don’t let him speak anymore because they know he will not say the things that are needed to be said.

I absolutely loved this episode & the preview seemed even better. I know Wali’s approach might look harsh but I think this is exactly the way to deal with Faarah to make her familiar with the reality & bring her out of Ruhina’s negative influence. I loved everyone’s acting but Hareem Farooq definitely stood out in this episode, I love how calm & composed she looks even when it is so obvious that she is furious on the inside & now coming back to Osman Khalid Butt again, he nailed every single scene in this episode & I am so glad he has opened up as Wali. OKB has perfectly portrayed all the different shades of Wali’s character to perfection where he can be really polite & sweet but when pushed the wrong way, he can very well intimidate his opponent as well. This episode definitely belonged to Osman Khalid Butt & oh I also loved how Wali didn’t give Agha Jaan the opportunity to speak, Abid Ali looked absolutely adorable when he really wanted to step in to bring everything under control but he couldn’t tame the angry young man; Wali, haha! I loved ittt!!! Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil. :D

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 19

This episode had so many good scenes, that it’s hard to choose one of them. Diyar-e-Dil has us all gripped and this grip only hardens after each passing episode. Now we understand these characters very well and all that’s left for us to see is our lead pair in love!

We saw Tajammul’s true face in the previous episode and this episode only made us hate this family of opportunity seekers only more! There are many ways in which Ruhi and Zohra are alike. Both are manipulative but Ruhi obviously has a low I.Q level which is why Zohra succeeds in manipulating her every time. Whether it’s Tajammul ke doston ki daawat or Tajammul’s daughter’s shopping trips, Ruhi is ready to waste Agha Jaan’s money for these people. She doesn’t have a brain to understand the people around her and find out what their true intentions are. It is so clear that Tajammul and Zohra just want her money but she fails to get that. On the other hand just one moment with Agha Jaan, two decades ago, makes her believe that he is a hypocrite. Agha Jaan has apologized for his behaviour several times but she still thinks ill of him.

“Ek taraf daulatmand dada hai aur ek taraf mohabbat karne wali maa” Ruhi has filled Farah’s mind with hate for Behroz’s family. Now that Farah is questioning Tajammul and Zohra’s intentions, and slowly (really slowly) realizing what a great person Agha Jaan is, Ruhi has increased her dosage of manipulation. This dialogue of hers made me cringe! As if that wasn’t enough, when Agha Jaan came to visit, Ruhi tried to make him believe that Farah didn’t want to meet him and blamed him for her father’s death. Fortunately, Agha Jaan is intelligent enough not to believe her.

Farah sahiba is too busy with her studies and too manipulated by her mother to see how wrong she is. Today, for the first time, I was angry at her because she is not thinking clearly at all! She can see how much Wali and Agha Jaan care for her. She is always rude to Wali and he deals with her politely. Ruhi is the brainless one, not Farah, so she better use that brain. Maya Ali acted really well today. While watching the previous episodes, I felt like her dialogue delivery was not good enough but today it was as good as her expressions.

Wali and Agha Jaan edure everything with so much patience that not loving these characters is impossible. Osman Khalid Butt and Abid Ali are doing such a good job! Agha Jaan promised himself that he would deal with Ruhi and Farah with kindness and that is exactly what he is doing. He called Farah even after everything Ruhi said to him. That scene was really cute because Farah was talking to Behroz’s picture and saying that she was helpless but Agha Jaan comforted her. After the second call, when Farah told him she wasn’t feeling well, the way he immediately arrived at her house to see if she was okay or not was really cute as well. However, the cutest scene from tonight’s episode was Agha Jaan and Wali’s discussion. Agha Jaan also realizes now, how much Wali is in love with Farah.

Arjumand and Ruhi’s discussion was the highlight of the episode. Ruhi has no shame whatsoever. Calling Agha Jaan a munafiq and Wali badtameez in front of Arjumand was something expected from her but the way she reminded Arjumand of her and Behroz’s engagement was cringe worthy. However, Arjumand’s comeback was fantastic! “behroz jesa selfish insan mujhe deserve hi nahi karta, woh jisko deserve karta thha usse wohi aurat mili” Ruhi thinks so highly of herself, but Armujand reminded her of her true place! Farah will definitely hate Behroz’s family more after that conversation though.

So, did you guys enjoy watching this episode? What do you think will happen now?

P.S: I am covering for my dear friend Zahra Mirza who is on vacation :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 18!

Oh wowww!!! This episode was so interesting & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say the brilliant performances definitely add more charm to the beauty of the drama but the way the situations are unfolding & the way they have kept so much in store for us to explore & get aware of makes this drama an absolute treat to watch.

All of Faarah’s reactions reminded me of Suhaib’s prediction where he told Behroz that the moment Faarah will get a chance to be around her paternal relatives, that would be the day when she will feel attracted towards them because it’s their blood running through her veins & this is exactly what happened in this episode. No matter how hard Ruhina has tried & no matter for how long she has brain fed Faarah against each & everyone, Faarah can’t resist feeling the opposite because she is getting to see the reality & it can never remain concealed for a long long time. Yes, Faarah still hasn’t accepted Wali but then that’s something natural because she was ambushed into this relation & that is why; she isn’t even ready to give this relationship a chance because for her, Wali is the last person on her mind.

I found the entire scenes involving Agha Jaan, Faarah & Wali to be very sweet. I love the way Agha Jaan is doing everything to make Faarah feel a part of his family. Agha Jaan knows that Faarah is the only person who affects Ruhina the most & when she will see her daughter happy & being taken care of, her heart will eventually melt. Faarah definitely couldn’t resist thinking the otherwise because she is someone who doesn’t believe in blindly following what her mother tells her & that is why, we often get to see both of them having a difference of opinion. Yes, Faarah does give in most of the times but that is only because she understands that her mother is emotionally weak after Behroz’s death, but soon enough I am sure Faarah will understand that Ruhina isn’t herself anymore & she is following the commands of her brother, which will force Faarah to take a stand against Ruhina.

I must say, even though I understood where Zohra was heading with all her bechargi & buray halaat claims but I never once expected that I’d get to see such a dirty side of Tajjamul ever. That single conversation between Tajjamul & Zohra was the highlight of the episode for me. Like I have said before, Tajjamul & Zohra, both have read Ruhina in & out, therefore they know how she can be toyed around. Tajjamul knew that Behroz had a sound background but just when he was alive, he knew he could never depend on Ruhina even if he wanted to, but luckily for him, Behroz is no more & it was all his planning to force Ruhina to get hold of Behroz’s family fortune because it would help him heaps. I was saddened to see that Tajjamul & Zohra actually lied to Ruhina. Yes, if they had actually needed the money for the property, it still wouldn’t have looked so odd but they lied right from the beginning & it was really hard to accept. Even though I know Ruhina trusts Tajjamul & Zohra more than she must’ve even trusted Behroz, but I am glad that she will get to learn a good lesson because this is something she really needs to face in order to understand & see the reality of everyone around her.

Moeez continues to be unreasonable. He is still enforcing his proposal & expects Faarah to reciprocate the similar feelings but it was good to see that being in a relationship or getting married is the last thing on Faarah’s mind. She is focusing on her MBBS & that’s her only priority (which rarely happens in our dramas these days). I must say, the more I get to see Wali, the more liking I develop for his character. He is quite present minded because the withdrawal of 7 lacs was enough for him to understand that Agha Jaan’s money was being misused. Even though Agha Jaan didn’t allow him to make a big deal out of it, it was good to see that even Agha Jaan got heed of what was happening in Lahore. I am sure Wali wouldn’t let it slide after he will see Tajjamul & Moeez’s involvement in Faarah & Ruhina’s lives.

Oh My God! The preview of the next episode was so intense & interesting. I am so glad that each & every episode offers us something new & exciting every single time. I loved the interactions between Agha Jaan & Faarah because this way Faarah feels the absence of Behroz is being compensated. To be honest, the way Ruhina is so comfortably involved in Tajjamul’s life goes to show that she isn’t even bothered about how Behroz’s death is being exploited. All the money she is getting through Agha Jaan is because of Behroz but how petty can she be where at one hand she doesn’t even want to greet him but on the other, she is using all his money to live a comfortable life. If she was a woman of her word, she would have never ever touched the money in Faarah’s account let alone spend it on lavish dinners & an army of servants.

Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode & can’t wait to see more. I am really looking forward to the showdown between Ruhina & Arjumand, haha! Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode.

Cheers,

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 17!

Ohkay, so, it was such an interesting episode because finally we got to the phase we all were waiting for. I am so glad that the younger lot has overtaken the story & now the main focus will be on them. I don’t mind the elderlies as well, but as far as they are at a back-seat, it’s all perfect. I am so glad with this transition because it opens a window for us to get to know more about the characters that are somewhat new to us & that makes me even more intrigued & engaged. :)

I really liked Faarah in this episode. She proved that even if she is submissive & even if she is innocent & polite, doesn’t mean she will accept everything that happens around her without questioning it. All her life she has heard how much her mother has hated Agha Jaan & the rest of Behroz’s family, so it was obviously a shocker for her to see Ruhina agreeing to be dependent on Agha Jaan for financial help. The questions she raised & the stance she put forth showed that she really has a high self-esteem. Till date Faarah saw how much Ruhina badmouthed Agha Jaan so to see her change all of a sudden made Faarah a bit more confused & embarrassed.

Like I said before, Ruhina doesn’t know how to take responsibility of what she does & she proved me right once again. Ruhina is so immune of blaming others that it didn’t even take her a second to put the whole blame on Faarah for the tiff she had with Behroz. Ruhina knows that she did it all out of her ego & Faarah was the last thing on her mind, but still, when the moment arose, she didn’t even think for a second about what Faarah might feel & how much she will dwell into self-detest if she’ll start considering herself as the reason behind her parents’ fight. Why was it so hard for Ruhina to face the reality now? What Faarah said & did was exactly what Ruhina taught her against Agha Jaan, so now when it backfired, why couldn’t she handle it? What was so difficult about the whole scenario that she couldn’t tell Faarah the real reason behind this deal with Agha Jaan & she took it to her heart? Was it done just for the sake of creating some drama so that she could make herself look like an even bigger victim in front of her daughter; Faarah?

The conversation between Ruhina & Agha Jaan once again highlighted the difference between their mentality & caliber. Ruhina looked like a shallow person who had nothing in her hand, except her ego & Agha Jaan accepted everything with so much grace that it showed he really is a bighearted person. Agha Jaan proved that he is a man of his word & that is why, no matter what Ruhina said, didn’t affect him at all because now when he has promised to do everything to bring his family back together, he surely is working on it with full fledged determination.

I liked Wali in this episode as well, but before saying anything about Wali, I will mention that he reminds me so much of Suhaib. Wali is just as responsible & focused as Suhaib was & now Wali is also facing more or less the similar situation that Suhaib faced in the initial stages of his marriage. It was so good to see Wali taking the responsibility without having anyone remind him about it. What I love about his character is his decisiveness & his determination. Even though Arjumand & Agha Jaan both didn’t want him to join the business yet, he went ahead with what he had planned for himself & his family. I also really like the fact that Wali takes it as his duty & responsibility to protect Agha Jaan, that is why while Agha Jaan was talking to Ruhina, Wali made sure that no one else interrupts, without even thinking that Tajjamul is Ruhina’s brother. The whole time Tajjamul sat there like he had no clue what was going on, actually made me laugh. He is the one who has insinuated all this & he chose to act all masoom as if he had no idea what was going through his sister’s mind. ;)

I loved Wali & Faarah’s interaction & meeting. Faarah is just going by what Ruhina has told her, but Wali is out to prove her & her mother wrong. Wali knows that Faarah was taken aback by what happened that is why he is ready to give her some time & space, which really makes him a thorough gentleman. He understands what Faarah must be going through, that is why without burdening her with the gravity of their relation, he just wanted her to befriend him, so that they can at least work on understanding each other first. It was good to see Zarmeenay in this episode as well but later what happened was actually really sweet. Wali has fallen for Faarah; his wife, that is why he is ready to be patient & doesn’t mind what she says because he knows she is just misapprehended for now & that can change, as in Wali for sure will make it change.

Oh boy! Moeez has no shame whatsoever, does he? He finally professed his feelings to his #married cousin? How decent is that? For Faarah, Moeez has always been a cousin & a friend that she knows she can rely on, that is why she is in a comfort zone when he is around, but Moeez really has gotten ahead with the idea, that is why he just cannot stand seeing Faarah with Wali but too bad, Wali is Faarah’s husband therefore, it is highly recommended for Moeez to find someone else because Jageerdaar Ka Beta is not going anywhere. If Moeez had so many questions about the financial help & the joint bank account stuff, why didn’t he bother asking his father first because it was his father bear who instigated this idea, therefore before burdening Faarah & telling her to go against everyone for him, he should get his facts straight.

So, all in all, it was an amazing episode. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I had a good laugh when Ruhina had an outburst because I needed it & oh, I must say there was so much emphasis on marna marana in this episode. Ruhina says ‘wo marna pasand karegi’ & even Faarah repeatedly said ‘wo bhi marna pasand karegi’ & in the end I heard Moeez saying the same thing too, so I really want to ask why this family is family so obsessed with the idea of ‘marna’? I loveee the subtlety in everyone’s expressions in this episode/drama. Wali understood why was Agha Jaan called to Lahore for the meeting, that is why he sat there & nodded in disbelief, which showed that he couldn’t imagine how low could his Tai Jee stoop. Similarly, Agha Jaan had a smirk on his face because he knew exactly what was happening but just the sense of him being able to help Faarah was so strong that he let go of what just happened & all the things that were said to him.

I must say the director really has brought out the best in all these actors because the way they are performing makes it all look so natural & real. A big shout out to Maya Ali & Osman Khalid Butt for their amazing on-screen chemistry & I am so glad they both acted really well in this episode. Sanam Saeed was good too but her shaky voice takes away the impact from most of her scenes. I must say, I really feel lucky to have gotten a chance to not only view but ‘review’ Diyar-e-Dil. :) Please share your thoughts on tonight’s episode.

ps: Just letting my awesome readers know that I am down with flu, fever & all that jazz, so just in case you find my replies short & robotic, please bear with me. I promise I will be fully active for the Good vs Bad; Ruhina vs Agha Jaan debates in the next review, Insha Allah. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 16!

Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode because it was intense & finally it didn’t have much rona dhona that we were experiencing since the previous few episodes. I am glad that the things are finally starting to shape up & the story is seamlessly moving into second & final phase.

Well, Ruhina is someone who can never be happy & that’s a done deal. 20 years of Behroz’s love couldn’t turn her into a contented & thankful person & that is the reason why her irrationality doesn’t shock me anymore. Yes, she did love Behroz but looks like he has also become one of those people, Ruhina has a lot of complaints with. Her husband has died & yes, she is grieving & mourning, but still, that doesn’t stop her from blaming him for ruining her & Faarah’s life? What a perfect way of remembering your husband who forsook his family for you! I have always blamed Behroz for being unreasonable & for never sharing his feelings with Ruhina, but now as I get to see her reactions, the more I believe that nothing in her would’ve changed even if Behroz had done all of that. I did hold Behroz accountable for how he was unfair to Ruhina but now it looks like Ruhina was just the same throughout her life & that is why just a few weeks of Behroz’s absence from her life made her turn against him as well. She’s a miserable soul & nothing can undo that. I am glad that Ruhina chose to share her feelings with Tajjamul about how Agha Jaan didn’t bother contacting her & Faarah after she came back, because later when he did, Tajjamul himself was present & got to witness how eager Agha Jaan was to earn Ruhina’s apology.

Due to Wali’s attempts at diverting Agha Jaan’s mind, he pretty much understood that something must’ve happened & Ruhina must’ve said something because of which Wali was trying to maintain a distance between both of them. Agha Jaan chose to inquire about the situation & Behram told him the truth, which was hard for him to grasp but he did blame himself for all the repercussions & that makes him even a bigger person because he is not turning away from the reality anymore. The meeting of Ruhina & Agha Jaan was absolutely intense, but Wali for sure stood out like a man of his word because he promised Arjumand that he wouldn’t let anyone mistreat Agha Jaan anymore & he exactly did what he said. Well, as much as I do agree that Agha Jaan shouldn’t have let his ego get the best of him, I also feel that now when he is trying so hard to make amends, Ruhina should accept his apology. Ruhina might come across as someone who’s level-headed & not your typical submissive daughter-in-law, but I believe there’s a lot of difference in being level-headed & being ill-mannered & Ruhina personifies rudeness to the T. The way she treated rather mistreated Agha Jaan once again went to show that she is someone who can never be satisfied in her life because where on one hand she was waiting to hear from him & complaining about it in front of Tajjamul, on the other hand, when that thing happened, she turned it into another opportunity of insulting Agha Jaan. Yes, she is entitled to take all the time in the world to bring herself to the point where she wants to forgive Agha Jaan, but at least in the meantime, she should put a kibosh on the accusations she hurls at Agha Jaan every single time for being the reason why Behroz is dead today.

The more I get to see Tajjamul & Co., the more I understand why every single one of them is so unreasonable because this trait runs in the family & they all are the ambassadors of irrationality. Where Tajjamul tries so hard to show how protective he is of Faarah, he chooses to say such unrealistic things right in front of her to make her petrified? Tajjamul treats her as a child, so does he really think that discussing such daunting things in front of Faarah is a good idea? As much as he was trying to make Ruhina face the reality, he was sounding like such an immature kid who had no idea what to say when & how! The way Zohra has distanced herself from Ruhina & also the way Tajjamul told his baby-sister as to how busy he was goes to show that Ruhina is not their priority anymore & they are too busy in their lives to worry about their negativity-stricken sister. I was actually shocked to see Tajjamul suggesting Ruhina to ask for financial help from Agha Jaan because as much as I know, Tajjamul makes a good living for himself & his family too, so why isn’t he willing to take care of Ruhina & Faarah on his own without anyone’s help? Tajjamul’s courtesy lasted only a few weeks after Behroz’s death? Where he wants Faarah & Wali to get divorced, he is pushing his sister to seek for some financial help from Agha Jaan using Faarah as a bait? Wow! I really mistook him to be the sane one but after-all he proved, that is he is Ruhina’s elder brother.

Even though, through Faarah & Moeez’s scenes, we are getting to know Faarah better, but I don’t really enjoy watching them together. Moeez seems too chummy & Faarah seems a bit too dumb whenever Moeez is in the picture. As much as I like Faarah’s character, I do remember that when Behroz was alive, she used to communicate according to her age but ever since he has passed away, she has turned into this unrealistic child who stammers & doesn’t even know how to speak? I really hope she regains her appropriate speaking skills & doesn’t continue to be a child anymore. As much as this episode was intense, the humor streak in me didn’t allow me to watch it seriously, that is why when Moeez burst out in anger the proverbs that clicked in my mind were ‘ye muh aur masoor ki daal’ & ‘chota sha muh aul ITNIIII bali baat’. Moeez referred to Wali as Jageerdaar Ka Beta & it was so obvious that without even knowing Wali, Moeez actually has some sort of complexes & grudges against Wali because no matter what they say, Wali is Faarah’s husband & they can do nothing about it!

It wouldn’t be an episode of Diyar-e-Dil if it doesn’t force you to shed a tear or two & this time around the shot of Suhaib & Behroz’s adjacent graves did the honors. That whole scene was so emotional & seeing Agha Jaan all brokenhearted & defeated was absolutely heart-wrenching. I loved the promises he made with both Behroz & Suhaib & even though he will fulfill his promises, I am sure that the journey wouldn’t be so easy to watch because I hate seeing Agha Jaan sad. :/

The preview of next episode seemed really interesting. Looks like Ruhina is following the commands of Tajjamul but little does she know that this is the first step that she has taken that will defy her ego & big words & also this is going to be the first step where Faarah will get to know Wali personally & will then judge him according to her own formed opinions. I can’t wait for the next episode & oh, I liked OKB’s acting in this episode. I am liking both Wali & Faarah’s character & I can’t wait to see them together & last but definitely not the least, I must say the *STAR* of this episode for me was Agha Jaan (read Abid Ali). Sir! You’re AWESOME. *hats off* :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 15!

Hmmmmm, this episode was a bit on the slower side. May be I felt it that way because a lot of focus was on Ruhina & I feel nothing for her, that’s why her scenes & her caterwauling couldn’t grab my attention & made this episode a bit uninteresting, unlike all the other episodes of Diyar-e-Dil.

Even though we all dislike Zohra as much as Ruhina, but what she said was just exactly what was supposed to be said to Ruhina. She should know that people around her also know Ruhina’s reality & how she let Behroz down just in his last days. Yes, Ruhina has to live with a lot of guilt for the rest of her life but it was good to see that others have realized that it was Ruhina herself who turned her husband away & no matter how hard she tries to put the blame on Agha Jaan, she can never do it. Yes, they all do find Agha Jaan responsible too but at least there is someone who deems Ruhina as a culprit & this is just what we wanted to hear.

Sadly, Faarah also thinks Agha Jaan is the one due to whom her family is facing all these hardships but going by the insight that was given to us regarding her character, it shows that she is a very considerate & is genuinely a very nice person, so I am sure it wouldn’t take her a very long time to realize that she was misunderstanding Behroz’s family especially Agha Jaan all this while.

Well, any sympathies that I felt for Ruhina? Absolutely none! She forsake her 20 years of healthy & strong relation due to a few weeks of Behroz’s attention towards his father, so she actually needs someone to make her realize that she is the one who was at fault & not anyone else. The way she misbehaved with Arjumand goes to show that Ruhina not only harbours a grudge against Agha Jaan but every single one of them, that is why just when she should’ve taken Arjumand’s words positively, she shunned her away too.

The highlights of the episode for me were the scenes revolving around Wali. It was actually heartbreaking to see him losing his calm & composure because it has been a while when someone gave him a shoulder to cry on. I am glad he had Feroze uncle by his side on whom he could confide in because he is more like a father figure to him as well. I also liked the scenes of him & Agha Jaan. I must say Abid Ali has been seamless in depicting the character of Agha Jaan; even a slight change in his expression tells us what he is going through & that is something commendable. Even though Wali tried really hard to ignore his demand of contacting Faarah & Ruhina by sugar-coating it but Agha Jaan understood that something was definitely wrong & Wali was trying to draw his attention away from it.

The preview of the next episode seemed interesting but I really hope we’re done with the mourning period by now. Well, just a random thought, I must commend Tajjamul for holding onto that plate throughout the scene where Ruhina burst out in anger, Tajjamul must’ve thought ke juice aur glass jaye lekin plate na jaye. I don’t know why I found that whole bit kind of funny & actually had a good laugh because on one hand Ruhina was crying out loud & trying to grab our attention but on the other, there was this spilt mango/orange juice on the floor & a small stark white plate in Tajjamul’s hand that I couldn’t look beyond. Haha!!!

So, this was it from my side for the day. Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode & let me know how much do you guys agree with whatever the negative Nancy Zohra has said. :)

ps: I watched this episode on HUM TV’s live streaming & for the first time got a chance to watch ‘Shaan Masalas’ Ramzan/Eid advert, I must say it was absolutely amazing & did the trick for me, it was absolutely overwhelming. :'( Have you guys seen it? What are your thoughts on it? :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 14!

Ohkay so, it was another one of those episodes that left me heavy hearted by the end. Even though I absolutely am an avid fan of Diyar-e-Dil & love it for its perfection, I now feel burdened by the incessant dosage of depression. I do believe that this is the beauty of Diyar-e-Dil where they have been successful in showing us a perfect journey of people with whom we’ve connected on some other level but to be honest, it actually is getting a bit too much for me to handle.

Behroz has died too, leaving everything behind & new challenges for everyone to face, especially Agha Jaan. The note at which Behroz’s life ended took me back to Suhaib’s death, where he died with a lot of peace & satisfaction in his heart because he meant well for everyone & lived his life to the fullest by making others happy but sadly, just as much as Behroz’s life was different to that of Suhaib’s, his death was different as well. Behroz spent his whole life in frustration & dissatisfaction because the guilt of wronging his father haunted him throughout & that is why, when he died, he didn’t have any peace in his heart & that is extremely sad. This whole scenario actually made me understand the proverb ‘dunya maqafat-e-amal hai’ a little bit better. Suhaib’s life ended at a good note because his life was filled with the smiles that he spread on everyone’s faces, whereas Behroz’s life ended at such a sad note because deep down he also knew how wrong he was & it somehow affected him a lot more than he could’ve imagined. Which no doubt makes me say that he didn’t deserve to be left alone in the end because he did everything for his wife Ruhina & was a good husband to her at least.

‘Faarah bete, Allah aur Rasool (SAW) ki mohabbat ke baad, janti ho sab se afzal mohabbat kaunsi hoti hai? Walidain ki. Jab dunya ki har mohabbat, har rishta hamara saath chorh deti hai, to ye mohabbat tab bhi hamare saath rehti hai. Beta, khoon ke rishton ko kabhi nahi chorhna chahiye, unka koi naim-o-badal nahi hota. Hamare har gunnah ki saza hamain akhirat mai milegi, lekin ma baap ki nafarmani wo wahid gunnah hai jiss ki saza hamain is dunya mai hi mil jati hai’. These were some beautiful & thought-provoking dialogues from this episode that I couldn’t resist mentioning. I am glad that of all the people, Behroz got to speak to Farah before he left & he got the opportunity to teach her something which will stay with her for the rest of her life. Behroz understood what he has done is something that he has to pay the price for, that is why without blaming anyone; he blamed himself for the consequences he was facing. It was absolutely heart-wrenching to see that the one Behroz loved the most, probably a little more than his own father, left him in the lurch & by the end came across as someone who was just another ‘dunyawi rishta’ for him.

Of all the people, I felt the most of Agha Jaan. Even though he did get to spend some time with Behroz before his death, he just wasn’t ready to lose another son because he didn’t have enough of him. He had so much to say & so much to listen to, but sadly, he was deprived of this opportunity. I am glad that at least, Agha Jaan found a way to forgive Behroz for what he did & Behroz found a chance to seek Agha Jaan’s forgiveness. The scene where Arjumand reminisced about both Behroz & Suhaib was very emotional too & for some reason I found it very impactful. No matter what had happened in their lives, these three were friends & Behroz & Suhaib were her companions since her childhood days, she not only lost her husband but now she also lost her cousin who used to be her friend too. Even though it may seem that Agha Jaan or Ruhina or even Faarah are the ones who got affected by Behroz’s death the most, I liked that they took a time to show how his death affected even those who weren’t actually related to him emotionally.

To be honest, I believe Tajjamul redeemed himself because he let go of what happened when Behroz was alive & didn’t let that negativity cloud his decision. He took an initiative & did what was right, which was to allow Agha Jaan & Wali to take Behroz with them. I think of all the people, Tajjamul was the one who analysed the situation like a rational person & didn’t side with anyone. He only considered what the most important thing was for Behroz & took a decision based on that. The thing that actually showed how weak Zohra or even Ruhina’s Imaan was the way they started blaming Agha Jaan for Behroz’s death. He was meant to leave & he did, no one else can decide that but the way they held Agha Jaan responsible for what happened only showcased how small their minds were & even smaller their faith was.

I must say, I was amazed by everyone’s acting in this particular episode. Sanam Saeed, Maya Ali, Abid Ali, Hareem Farooqi & also Osman Khalid Butt – their powerful acting made this episode work for me completely & it was a treat to watch them all. Also, I must say, just when I wanted Wali to speak up, he did. Very politely, he took a stand for Agha Jaan because he had to make sure none of Ruhina’s words hurt Agha Jaan as he was already in a fragile state & this was the very first thing that made me like Wali’s character a lot more than I actually did before. With so much ease Wali reminded Ruhina of how she was crossing a line & I now feel Wali wouldn’t let Ruhina hurt his family anymore. I am glad he is not going to be one of those who wouldn’t step in when needed. What Wali said showcased how important it is for him to protect Agha Jaan, along with his honor & his dignity because he wouldn’t keep quiet when he will see people disrespecting Agha Jaan.

To be honest, the preview of next episode seemed quite depressing to me & for that, I am looking forward to only one particular scene where Zohra will spew venom against Ruhina, haha. At least, that will keep things interesting because I am so not in a mood to see some bed-ridden characters once again. :/ Sadly, it looks like Faarah will follow the footsteps of her mother & will start blaming Agha Jaan, which I believe will make Wali speak up. I am so looking forward to their track now & I hope we’re done with the dose of depression. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful episode filled with realistic portrayal of feelings & emotions, but can we please move on? Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil.

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 13!

Hmmmm, it was a beautiful episode; where it left me heavy-hearted I still feel this is the beauty of this script & story because they always take you on a complete emotional ride where you end up relating to each & everyone, except the negative character(s) of course.

I must say Ruhina doesn’t shock me with her negativity anymore but she actually left me speechless because she didn’t even bat an eyelid before misbehaving with Agha Jaan. Behroz was egoistic, Ruhina is egoistic & this makes me completely believe that it was a match made in heaven. I am not too sure if Ruhina means well for Faarah or it is just her ego that is driving her crazy. It was too evident that she just didn’t want to lose this battle & when she did, she couldn’t believe that she had actually lost. I fail to give her a benefit of doubt that she wanted to protect Faarah & was fighting for her daughter’s best interest because deep down, she only wanted to use Faarah to achieve what she wanted; which was, shaming Agha Jaan & even her husband Behroz who has also made it to the list of people she hates. I think more than her motherly concerns & duties she let the hatred get the best of her because whatever Ruhina said didn’t really revolve around what Faarah must be going through or what she must be feeling, it was all about what Ruhina had in her mind against Behroz & his family.

Coll1

Even though I don’t have a high opinion of Behroz, even though I also blame him for the consequences he is facing & also I do feel he needed to go through this betrayal, I still felt for him for the first time. Like he said, he wanted Ruhina’s comfort & companionship the most right now & all she had to offer were some bitter words & a bag full of accusations? I don’t think after 20 years of sincerity, he deserves this. It is good that he is realizing his mistakes but is learning his lesson the hard way. Somehow, the karma is getting back at him for the way he wronged Agha Jaan. It is good that he now understands that Ruhina wasn’t worth it. She wasn’t worth ignoring Agha Jaan for. She wasn’t worthy of his undivided love, attention & care that he extended towards her for good 20 years because the facade she had been carrying all this while has finally come off.

While hearing Ruhina saying things about how Agha Jaan wanted revenge & stuff, it really showed that Ruhina knows how to make it all about herself. She doesn’t believe in giving other’s a benefit of doubt & is so negativity ridden that she didn’t even bother paying attention to what her husband was saying. Even after Faarah told her the things Behroz shared with her, Ruhina chose to ignore all of that because now she feels she has nothing to do with Behroz anymore.

Coll2

I must say Maya Ali was outstanding in tonight’s episode. The emotions while those voices were haunting Faarah & the whole state of confusion were perfectly portrayed by Maya Ali. Even though she was confused, the way she went ahead with the Nikkah showed that deep down, the things Behroz shared with Faarah resonated with her a lot & she chose to believe the single confession of her father over the incessant brain feeding of her mother. Faarah might be confused for now but she will eventually find a way & explore the truth while she’ll be on the course of her journey.

I really thought Faarah & Wali’s track will have a kick-start by now but going by the preview (which I hope ain’t misleading) I think it will be some time before we get to see them together because right now the focus would shift on how shattered & devastated Behroz must be. I really believe that Tajjamul has given some edge to Ruhina too because the moment she feels something, she straight out blurts it in front of her brother’s family & he ends up supporting his unreasonable, irrational sister? What happened to the lifelong promises of sticking together through thick & thin? What happened to the love & respect & most importantly the factor of trust that this relation was built upon? By seeing Tajjamul being rude to Behroz really made me believe that negativity runs in this family so it’s imperative that Ruhina’d be any different. She obviously thinks the world revolves around her that is why she wants Behroz to leave Agha Jaan for her once again, but I am glad this time she will be proven wrong because Behroz would go through anything but will never leave his father for her that too after she has unveiled her true face in front of him.

Coll3

Overall, this episode was sweet, emotional & overwhelming; all at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I loved Maya Ali in this episode & Osman Khalid Butt did well too in showcasing Wali’s contentment & happiness. I thought the scene between Behroz, Faarah & Wali after their Nikkah was beautifully done & was really very sweet. At least, I am glad that later when Faarah will get to know Wali, she will not only be happy but will thank her father. At least, she would later understand his motive behind this marriage & that would also mean that Ruhina will be proven wrong. I also liked how Laila once again participated but this time it was for a joyous festivity. I am glad that Behroz took a special time out to thank Laila for helping him understand the situation better as he now realizes that Laila actually did a favour for him. Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil & let me know how special it was? :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 12!

Ohkay so, this episode was intense & interesting but it left me confused as to who do I dislike more; Ruhina or Behroz? The recent turn of events has unmasked their dirtiest faces & I find them both equally wrong. I like how the story is getting a lot more intense & even though we can figure out what might happen ahead, it still makes us look forward to it because the script & the story has been tackled intelligently.

Even though I find Ruhina completely wrong but this time around, I kind of understood where she was coming from & for me, the real culprit is Behroz. Those people, whom he showed his attitude & ego might’ve changed but this side of him is still pretty much dominant in his personality. Behroz is doing exactly what he did 20 years ago; first he chose not to understand Agha Jaan & made an irrational decision of leaving his whole family & now he is choosing to misunderstand Ruhina & enforcing his decision regarding their only child; on her. Yes, even though now Ruhina has no grounds to hold grudges against Agha Jaan, but the way Behroz has kept her in a dark for the last 20 years, makes her stance justified. I totally blame Behroz for not talking about his family or the repeated attempts of reconciliation done by Suhaib, with Ruhina. He is the one who chose to keep her away from all that he was feeling & for the last 20 years, made her believe that she was the only one that mattered to him the most, so yes, it is imperative that Ruhina will misunderstand his family because she hasn’t met this Behroz before who’d cry for the love of his father & brother.

Just now when Ruhina had a bag full of complaints & misunderstandings against Suhaib & Agha Jaan, why didn’t Behroz utter a single word to clear off their name? Behroz made an extra effort to silent his wife while completely ignoring the point that it was about time he should let her know how hard Suhaib tried to take him back to Agha Jaan & how much he also tried to help him financially while Behroz was busy fulfilling his husbandly duties. Even though, I dislike Ruhina, I still find her right in a way because she has seen her husband suffering & sulking for the last 20 years. All she knows is that Behroz’s family never made an effort to reconcile & abandoned him, she has only seen Behroz being restless & sleepless most of the nights because he used to miss his people, so it is totally natural for her to hate Behroz’s family because for her, her husband was innocent who only went by the right he had of choosing his life partner, making Agha Jaan & Suhaib the culprits who estranged their son & elder brother.

I found Behroz completely irrational because he threw a curveball at his wife & daughter & expected them to understand those unspoken feelings that he had kept a secret from them for them all this while? The way he dealt with Ruhina only made him look a bigger villain who chose irrationality while conversing with his wife whereas he should’ve taken that as an opportunity to let her know how wrong she was being by misunderstanding Agha Jaan over & over again. It almost felt like ever since he has realized his mistake, he is using his only daughter as a pawn to compensate for the pain he has caused to Agha Jaan & his whole family.

It was good to see Arjumand being a part of all the activities in her own way. Looks like she still holds a grudge against Behroz & even Ruhina but at least she is trying not to make Faarah face the brunt of what her parents did to her. I now feel after Agha Jaan’s personal apology, Ruhina has no reason to cling onto that bitter memory. Yes, things don’t change within a few seconds & no one is expecting her to get quite pally with everyone around, but at least she can be at peace now & let go of the past to make her present & future work. I feel the way Behroz is treating Ruhina makes things uglier. I really expected him to tackle the whole situation with a bit more maturity because he needs Ruhina on his side too & now when he has made a decision about Faarah on his own, it obviously will make his wife misunderstand & blame every single person of his family, including him. Now when the story has come to this point, I feel Behroz has been unfair to everyone around him all his life; he was unfair to Agha Jaan just because he thought he was too authoritative, he was unfair to Arjumand by leaving her in the lurch, he was unfair to Suhaib by misunderstanding him all his life, he is now being unfair to Ruhina by expecting her to accept his singlehanded decision & last but not the least, he is also being unfair to Faarah by making the most important decision of her life without even thinking about her for a second. Behroz was egoistic, irrational, and unfair & Behroz is still egoistic, irrational & unfair.

All said & done about Behroz, I really find Ruhina wrong as well. It only took her 2 weeks to forget everything Behroz has ever done for her, for the last 20 years. She actually ran out of words & anger when Behroz reminded her of how he left her. Ruhina, at least shouldn’t just think all this was actually a drama, starting from Suhaib’s death to Agha Jaan’s fragility. She actually comes across as an insecure person who really has no faith in her bonding with her husband, which is why ever since Behroz has been with Agha Jaan, all she has ever talked about is how Agha Jaan will turn Behroz against her. If she was an emotionally & mentally stable person, she would never ever doubt her husband because he took a stand for her & has been a dutiful husband ever since he got married to her, so these 2 weeks shouldn’t bother her at all. Ruhina would have never doubted her relationship if she actually believed in herself.

Over all it was a good episode. The confrontations between Behroz & Ruhina were done nicely without overdoing any of that. I really dislike how they show one thing in the preview to keep us all engaged & that scene is never made a part of the current episode. Yes, I did find the whole emphasis on ‘our’ & ‘hum’ by Wali a bit forced. He has just met Faarah & obviously he believes in giving people a benefit of doubt, so the whole emphasis on that idea seemed a bit out of question, but nevertheless, I enjoyed seeing all three youngsters in one frame, it was good to see some young faces for a change. Agha Jaan looked so sweet while he was making an extra effort to make Ruhina comfortable. I liked that they did add the bit where Agha Jaan picked how Ruhina was still angry at him. Agha Jaan really meant when he said that Suhaib’s death has taken away all that he used to be proud of & has changed him completely. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode, loving everyone’s acting & the locations are absolutely beautiful. Please share your say with us. :)

ps: Enforcing a ban on the spoiler-alert-police once again!

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 11!

“Ohkay so”, this episode was comparatively slow but nonetheless, I enjoyed watching it because even though the pace was a bit slow, it ended at a promising note as now Behroz & Agha Jaan both; will get to deal with the real ordeal in the form of Ruhina.

Each & everyone in the Haveli is still mourning over Suhaib’s death. Agha Jaan, Arjumand, Behroz & Zarmeenay, they all are shattered completely but Agha Jaan & Behroz are doing everything to overcome the regret they have in their hearts. They both find themselves guilty of wronging Suhaib time & again. Where Agha Jaan admitted that he was the one who let his ego ruin this family, Behroz also professed how he misconstrued his brother all these years over a petty assumption. Even though, it comes after a heart-wrenching turn of events, it was good to see both the gentlemen taking responsibility for the wrong decisions they have made in their lives & not only accepting their mistakes but realizing & regretting them as well. I still feel it was quite immature of Behroz to fix Faarah & Wali’s marriage just because he wants to make things right & more importantly he wants to compensate for the all the hurt he has been responsible for putting Agha Jaan through. Yes, it’s understandable that Behroz is eager to do everything he can to make Agha Jaan happy but going ahead with this decision without even talking to Faarah makes him an ever bigger villain than Agha Jaan; in his perspective, was.

Arjumand had a ball in her court after so many years but she didn’t take advantage of the situation. It goes to show how much she loves & respects Suhaib to let go of her ego & submit to his wishes even if he is not around anymore. Arjumand could have easily backed out by the demand that was put forth by both Behroz & Agha Jaan but she is ready to go by their decision because Suhaib’s happiness means everything to her & that makes her an even bigger person.

Yes, I get it, Ruhina is mad at how Behroz has been MIA but to see her using the word ‘drama’ repeatedly for Suhaib’s death made me cringe – as if her negativity wasn’t enough that we now have to deal with her fowl mouth too. Faarah still seems a bit unaffected by what Ruhina says but that doesn’t mean she isn’t believing in what her mother is saying time & again. It is imperative that Faarah must be paying heed to Ruhina’s words & she would now form an opinion about Behroz’s family based on what she has heard Ruhina say about them. I am actually interested to see how her opinion would change once she will get to meet & interact with Behroz’s family personally.

I must say I really enjoyed the scene of both Wali & Zarmeenay. It was short but it was absolutely sweet. Zarmeenay must’ve lost a father but Wali, like the responsible person he is; is making sure to lend a shoulder to his younger sister to let her know that she is not alone & now she has her brother to rely on. I like how Wali is keeping himself composed because he now feels a new sense of responsibility that he has to stick to because enough people are already shattered around him that he doesn’t want to break & wants to be there for them the best way he can.

I must say I wasn’t expecting this but what Arjumand said about Ruhina was something totally unexpected. I really thought she wouldn’t bother much about Ruhina but seems like Arjumand hasn’t forgiven both Behroz & even his wife Ruhina as well & I am interested to see Arjumand’s reactions too. I find it unfair, in a sense that just because Arjumand is the submissive one, she is being asked to put up with everything now after Suhaib has left. Obviously, if Suhaib was alive, she would still agree to all this but in that case she wouldn’t have paid much attention to anyone else anyways. Even though Agha Jaan was being extra cautious by seeking her permission & by informing her beforehand about how he plans to make Behroz stay with him, I still feel Arjumand has always sacrificed everything in her life just because she never was bold enough to voice out her opinions.

I believe Agha Jaan wants to ruin probably the last years of his life by inviting Ruhina to stay with him. He is making one mistake after the other – first one is by agreeing to the forced marriage of Wali & Faarah & second is by asking Behroz to stay with him for the rest of his life along with Ruhina in that Haveli. I am kind of interested to see the show Ruhina will put up when Behroz will tell her the actual reason for which she was invited to the Haveli. Even though Behroz loves Ruhina a lot but I want to see if he will ever realize his mistake of choosing her over the rest of his family? Behroz is on a trip of a lot of realizations so I want to know if this one would also be something that he will realize later ahead when he will see Ruhina’s real self?

So, this is it from my side. As much as I was waiting to see the confrontation between Laila & Behroz, I was disappointed to see that it wasn’t actually a proper scene & was just an exchange of few sentences between the two which was shown twice in the preview for the next week’s episode to keep the viewers engaged? I really felt cheated & I wish the director had given that scene a due time given how they depended on it to make the upcoming episodes look more promising? Anyhow, the drama is still going strong & now I’m looking forward to see the showdown between Ruhina & the two gentlemen; Agha Jaan & Behroz. Share your say with us please. ;)

ps: I’ve seen, if given the edge, how few people LOVE to spoil the whole drama for those who haven’t read the novel. They are those people who don’t even comment regularly but just come to share the spoiler alerts because it’s their moment of non-existent glory, so to that class of Spoiler-Alert Police, I just want to say, let us enjoy the drama because we love how the story is being told & we aren’t in a RUSH to know what is going to happen in the last or probably the episode following the last episode. So, yeah, just Spare Us!

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 10!

Like always, this episode was beautiful & was packed with a lot of different emotions that were elaborated beautifully on screen tonight. I really like how the director here is taking things slow for a while before stepping into the second phase of the story. Even though, Suhaib was not present, what I loved the most about this episode was that he wasn’t just forgotten & each & every conversation revolved around him because he was absolutely special for each one of them.

Agha Jaan (read Abid Ali) made me cry once again with his brilliant performance in this episode. I have never seen such a powerful depiction of emotions coming from any other actor but Abid Ali for sure is phenomenal. Indeed, it wasn’t difficult at all to understand what he was going through. He has lost the best & the most valued person in his life; his son Suhaib, who was not just a son but was more than that because he gave Agha Jaan more than what he ever thought of & asked for, that is why it was so hard for Agha Jaan to accept that Suhaib is gone forever & his death scarred him more than anyone could’ve imagined. It is so evident that Behroz is trying so hard to fill the void but he can never reach the bar that Suhaib has set so high.

It was so heartbreaking so see Zarmeenay & Arjumand completely shattered. It was indeed another powerful performance by Hareem Farooq in this particular episode. She depicted the emotions of someone who lost everything to perfection. Suhaib indeed was her shelter & to see it being torn away & buried somewhere was the most difficult thing that Arjumand had to go through.

The highlight of this episode for me was the conversation between Behroz & Wali. Not only because Behroz realized how similar Wali was to his father but also because it showed how much Suhaib loved Behroz to let his children know about him, which is why despite the fact that Wali met him for the first time, he met him like he has known him all his life & he wasn’t hesitant at all. This thing also sheds a light on how different Behroz & Suhaib were & how differently they raised their children because Suhaib made sure that both Wali & Zarmeenay knew their Baray Baba & he made sure that his kids be familiar with Behroz just because if there comes a time when the family gets back together, both Wali & Zarmeenay should know what Behroz meant to Suhaib & how he was always a part of the family even if he wasn’t around. Then it took me back to how Faarah was being raised, where the only family she knows about is the family of Tajjamul & how easily Behroz has kept her oblivious of her paternal relatives. The way Behroz lied to Faarah about the gifts that were from Suhaib actually shows what a weak person he is & how ‘important’ Suhaib was for him, which is why now when he said ‘Suhaib mera sab kuch tha’, I really had a hard time believing him.

Well, I have a request for all those who’ve read the novel, I am giving you guys a single but golden chance to share a spoiler alert with me here; please please please let me know that something bad happens to Tajjamul because I so want Ruhina to learn a few lessons in life as well. I so want her to lose her brother to comprehend how it is to be in that position & then I will see how worried she’d be about Behroz & Faarah. The things she said actually made me want to smack her because ohkay, if she is clinging onto that bad memory & those insults are still lingering on in her head, that’s perfectly fine but is she so low on humanity that she cannot even sympathize or feel bad that someone in Behroz’s family has passed away? For the first time in 20 years, Behroz chose to speak to her about his father & his brother & all she had to do was remind him of his carelessness? Behroz has taken care of her for the last 20 years & has filled her life with so much love so why can’t she move on & forget all that she went through back then? She still doesn’t believe in giving Behroz an edge even though she knows that he is going through a very difficult time right now? Even though we shouldn’t expect anything from Behroz as he is so smitten by this emotionless statue that he calls his wife but I so hope he shows her the right place because seems like she got a lot more than what she actually deserved.

I am looking forward to what Laila has to say to Behroz. I really liked the fact that even though Laila & Suhaib shared a cordial relation for a very little time, the way she was there for Suhaib’s family in this difficult hour showed that she may have moved on in her life but the bonding that she shared with Suhaib is still very special to her because they both parted at a good note & most importantly, she knows what a gem of a person Suhaib was. I really like Laila’s character for the fact that she has such a high regard for Suhaib who didn’t do anything for her but that is only because she knows everything about him & his struggles.

This episode was beautiful & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I so want to see Ruhina’s face when Behroz will break the news of Faarah & Wali’s marriage. Yes, he wants to make things right & he wants to compensate for all the sorrows he has inflicted upon Agha Jaan but I think Behroz like always is making an irrational & hasty decision because now; with Faarah, he is doing exactly the same thing that Agha Jaan asked him to do by marrying Arjumand; someone he didn’t love & didn’t want to be with, 20 years ago.

I must say, being a newbie the girl playing the role of Zarmeenay is doing a brilliant job. I am glad that Osman Khalid Butt got a good coverage in this episode but I still felt his acting was a bit forced, as if the emotions weren’t coming naturally to him & he really was trying hard to get them across. I am sure as the episodes will pass by, he won’t give us a chance to complain but for now, I found his acting a little too weak in comparison to all the other actors who are doing a brilliant job. Please share your say with us & let me know how much you enjoyed watching this episode. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 09!

Hmmmm!!! I am actually not sure what to say about this episode of Diyar-e-Dil as in how to say it. This episode was done so well but it marked the exit of our favourite character Suhaib. This episode was just so emotional & I still am trying to gather myself. I love this play for the fact that each & every situation strikes a chord every single time because the crux of it is conveyed so beautifully that you just can’t help getting engrossed in it. I must commend the director for giving such a beautiful picture to an equally beautiful script.

Suhaib knew something big was about to happen. He knew that he needed to take a few steps before he left because his intuition was warning him of something unavoidable. He could predict but he couldn’t prevent that is why he was so particular as he could feel that’s the only time he would get to spend with his family. An outing with the whole family, a heart-to-heart conversation with Arjumand & Agha Jaan made his journey complete. He died after doing all that he has done his whole life & that was giving an utmost attention to his family. He got to spend time with his children, he got to know how content his wife was with him & in the end, he succeeded in convincing Agha Jaan to overrule his word & welcome Behroz back in his life as he knew, his departure will leave a void which now only Behroz would be able to fill. Suhaib did reunite his father & his brother but what’s sad is that where Suhaib slept peacefully that night with a feeling of victory, knowing what he has done what was right, he has now left a lot of regret in his brother’s life & has left a dent in Agha Jaan’s heart which can’t be mended.

I loved the conversations Suhaib had with his wife, it showed the transparency they both shared where he also told her about the meeting he & Laila had. I couldn’t help draw a comparison between their relation & the relation Behroz & Ruhina share because they might’ve begun their lives on the basis of love, they lack the strength & emotional dependency on each other whereas both Suhaib & Arjumand didn’t have the factor of love in their lives when they got married, their relation grew to be perfect & was so strong that they both had nothing but honesty to offer to each other. I loved the way Suhaib talked so highly of Arjumand in front of Laila, it showed how much of a high regard he had of his wife & how much he truly he loved her.

The conversation Suhaib had with Agha Jaan obviously set the grounds for what will & what should happen next. All he wanted was for Behroz to know that he had no such plans which he accused Suhaib of & he wanted Agha Jaan to not only forgive but accept Behroz wholeheartedly as he wanted all the misunderstandings to subside because Suhaib proved it time & again that the only thing that mattered to him the most was his whole family. His whole life revolved around his family; his people which is why he wanted to complete the family picture by mending the broken ties of Agha Jaan & Behroz. I absolutely loved the reactions & the replies of Agha Jaan too. I also felt bad for him because Behroz is so big on his ego that now it had to be Agha Jaan again, who was supposed to ask him to come back. Yes, Behroz did try once, but that’s it! I feel he should’ve tried harder but sadly, he is a weak person who let his ego rule, rather ruin his whole life.

I know it is supposed to be that way, Behroz will spend the rest of his life in deep sorrow & regret but then I find his character unforgiveable. He may indulge in a deep sense of regret, he may now do everything that Suhaib wanted & he may do everything to please Agha Jaan but somehow I don’t think I’ll be able to like his character ever. Seems like Ruhina spends a lot of time ‘chatting’ with her Bhabhi-love. If she had spent half as much time on her husband as much as she spends in paying attention to her Bhabhi, she would’ve been able to understand what Behroz was going through every single day of his life. It seems that Ruhina kind of feels relieved when Behroz doesn’t let her know what he is feeling because then she then goes back to her bubble of perfect life without having to worry about anything.

I don’t know how many times I’ve used to word ‘love’ in this review but yes; I absolutely loved the way things were told. I obviously hated seeing an end to Suhaib’s character but the way they took us through that journey was beautiful, emotional & heart-wrenching; all at the same time & this is what I have always loved about Diyar-e-Dil; the way they complete every scenario by giving us that extra something to connect to & relish.

It goes without saying that the acting of every single one of them was spot on. Abid Ali conveyed the feelings of a grieving father to a T. Ali Rehman was remarkable in this episode as well especially because he was able to carry that sad look in his eyes even though he was trying to act all normal & happy, he totally nailed it. Everything about this episode was perfect except for the fact that the Chaandi on Ruhina’s hair kept on disappearing & reappearing in different scenes. So far I believe Sanam Saeed is a weak addition to the lot because when a certain star name gets associated with a character, you tend to expect a lot but so far, she hasn’t delivered & looks like it will remain this way & oh, I think Osman Khalid Butt doesn’t need this amount of makeup. He naturally has a good face, so yes, a little touch ups are understandable because they’re a demand of the camera but he doesn’t need to have a heavy-hand on the makeup as it makes his face look expressionless. I am sure he has done an amazing job as far as the acting is concerned, so for that I can’t wait to see more interactions between Wali & Faarah. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Diyar-e-Dil & let me know how emotional did you guys get because I cried a bucket. :/

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 08!

…& the awesomeness prevails. I am so glad that finally HUM TV has given us a promising drama which is perfect in so many ways. All the situations, all the emotions & all the characters are just so realistic that you can’t help forming a connection with them. I think Farhat Ishtiyaaq has done a brilliant job in giving us such a simple yet amazing story & for that we’re obliged.

The transition & the progress of the story couldn’t have come at a better time. I believe they took a decent amount of time to set the grounds for what will happen ahead that’s why now it feels like we’re ready to see what more do they have in store for us. I like how they didn’t keep even a single detail from getting covered because it now gives us a clear picture of so many aspects.

I liked the way the characters of Wali, Faarah, Zarmeenay, Moeez & Erum were introduced but I also liked the fact that even though the focus was shared by all these characters, the elderlies are still running the show. It was just so evident that Wali is a carbon copy of Suhaib. He is just as compassionate & responsible like Suhaib was when he was of Wali’s age. The only difference is that Wali is the eldest son which is why being responsible comes to him naturally but as far as Suhaib is concerned, he was youngest but he still did what any responsible person would do to keep his family together in one place. I loved the relation both Agha Jaan & Wali share. It is pretty obvious that Agha Jaan still has a dent in his heart because of Behroz’s absence but that place is somewhat filled by Wali’s presence in his life. I loved seeing Suhaib, Arjumand, Agha Jaan, Wali & Zarmeenay in one frame because they make a picture perfect family that is content with each other, relies on each other & is complete in so many ways.

Collage 1

Behroz has done well for himself & his family. Going by how Faarah is, it seems that Behroz has given her an edge to allow her heart to steer the course of her life. Obviously, what Behroz went through is something he doesn’t want his only child Faarah to go through as well that is why; he has given her something which he couldn’t get & that is freedom. For now I liked Faarah’s character a bit more in comparison to Wali’s because she may be blunt & spoiled in a way but she has that child-like innocence to her which draws you towards her.

Just like Suhaib said, Faarah is naturally inclined to & is very keen to know about Behroz’s family but what Ruhina said also made some sense this time around. In front of Faarah, she sketched them in the same perspective that she has based on the first & the last encounter she had with them. However, going by how much time has passed, I really thought we’d get to see them all a bit loosened up but seems like both Ruhina & Behroz have bottled up that bitter memory which is why, they can’t seem to forget anything related to that & haven’t moved on at all.

I still feel a lot for Suhaib. Even though he compromised in his life & somehow found a way to just be happy with what he got, he still doesn’t deserve to get rebuked by Behroz time & again. It seems that Suhaib has been trying really hard to bring Agha Jaan & Behroz together for the past 20 years but ohkay, even if Behroz doesn’t want to go back to Agha Jaan, the least he could do was just be a bit more candid & cordial with Suhaib because by the end of the day, Suhaib is not at fault so he shouldn’t be facing the brunt too. I found Behroz just as unreasonable as he was before & like I said, I really thought I’d see him getting a bit easier but he seems quite incapable of that. All the things that Suhaib said went to show how eager he was & how much he wanted to bring his family back together but seems like he’ll have to try a bit more.

Collage 2

One thing that I found interesting was that after Behroz’s meeting with Suhaib, Behroz resorted to lying & he seemed pretty comfortable with that. It’s understandable that he didn’t want Faarah to know who that ‘uncle’ specifically was but he couldn’t bring himself to share that detail with Ruhina too & that kind of makes me question the strength of their relationship. Yes, they are very much in love & are very happy with each other but where’s that bonding & where’s that comfort of relying on each other, which is a pivotal part of any husband & wife’s relation? Behroz is very happy with Ruhina & he is satisfied with how his life has shaped up but it still feels that he doesn’t rely on his wife emotionally & that all of a sudden makes their relation seem a bit weak. As far as Ruhina is concerned, Suhaib in just one visit could see & feel the restlessness Behroz’s face was embodying but why is it that in these last 20 years, Ruhina couldn’t understand that Behroz was struggling within & why didn’t she give him an edge to channel out all the things that were building inside him? Yes, I do understand that Ruhina has all the reasons to be bitter about Behroz’s family but she still seems selfish in a way that she is happy that Behroz has nothing to do with his family anymore. She can have the luxury of being in touch with her family but when it comes to Behroz, she can’t overlook that one incident & has been harbouring grudges ever since. I feel if Ruhina will move on, Behroz will move on too but just because they don’t speak about that subject, they both are stuck in a limbo.

I enjoyed the tiff Faarah had with Erum & all the things Zohra said were exactly what any typical relative would say. She isn’t as smitten with Faarah as Tajjamul & to some extent Moeez is & that makes her quite uncomfortable. It is too obvious that Ruhina likes Moeez & if she’d have to choose a guy for Faarah, she would definitely pick Moeez because she has always held him close to her heart but sadly for Ruhina, she doesn’t know that those people whom she refers to as ‘jahil’ will enter Faarah’s life & will change everything.

It was a beautiful episode & all the stories are being told perfectly. I loved the outlook of all the characters & I am glad that the makeup team resorted to a very natural & no-makeup makeup look for Maya Ali because she seems very youthful & fits the bill of a young & quirky character. Osman Khalid Butt didn’t get much coverage but he seemed a little too stiff at the moment, may be that’s the demand of his character, so we’ll see but overall, all the new additional actors performed brilliantly & I like the naturalness of their acting. The director has done an amazing job in keeping the acting as effortless as possible. I did miss the presence of Bedaar Khan & Yasmeen, they both were two beautiful characters. The preview of next episode seemed interesting too & oh, the reappearance of Laila’s character was definitely something none of us expected. I think Suhaib will get to share a few words with her & she will serve the purpose of being a friend who’ll be all ears to his feelings because even he can’t say much in front of Arjumand as he knows she has a scar in her heart too. Can’t wait to see more. Please share your say on this episode & let me know how much did you enjoy watching it? :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 07!

Wow! This drama is such a mood uplifter. Even though the scenarios are quite serious, the way the story is being told makes it appeasing to watch. I love the pace of the show for sure. Without wasting time or stopping things to focus on a single situation, the way they take the story forward & show growth in every aspect of the drama is amazing.

I didn’t quite understand why Ruhina was so taken aback by finding pictures of Agha Jaan & Suhaib in Behroz’s diary? Even if he has left them for her doesn’t mean he is not allowed to miss them or have a time alone to think about them. They are his family after all. Ruhina’s life is complete where she has a loving husband, a support of his brother, a sister in law to talk to & now a baby to complete her as well. It would’ve looked more suitable if she had encouraged Behroz to talk about his family, so that he feels at ease. Ruhina did complain about how he never shared his thoughts & feelings with her but then did she ever give him an edge to do that? When she was not on talking terms with her brother, she knew what a dent it left in her life, so I find it a little odd seeing her not being able to connect & understand what Behroz was going through.

Coll 2

I loved loved loved seeing Arjumand happy. The glow on her face & the happiness that made her eyes sparkle was absolutely brilliant. It was actually very pleasing to see Arjumand’s transition where from being negative & unthankful, she became this satisfied & happy person who was in peace with how her life unfolded. I also loved seeing Suhaib & Arjumand happy with their little Wali in the frame. The things Suhaib said about how he wants the best environment filled with love, respect & most importantly a high regard for the family members for Wali redefined the sort of a person Suhaib is. He has always respected all his relations & this is exactly what he wants his son to do as well. Suhaib knows what it means to have a family & more than that he knows that all the relations demand respect & then only they can be nurtured, which is why he has accepted Arjumand because she now holds a very special place in his heart as he knows that if it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t have gotten introduced to the best experience of life which is fatherhood.

Even though Behroz may be the best person for Ruhina & he may be very content with whom he is but the way he treated Suhaib & punished him for the things he isn’t responsible for, made me lose respect for him straight away. Behroz for sure has a lot of ego which is why he couldn’t subside the grudges he has harboured (which by the way were a result of his own selfishness) & just be happy about how Suhaib walked an extra mile for him. Behroz himself saw how Suhaib tried to stop everything that happened, how much he wanted to rectify the situation & how Suhaib has been trying to help him but just because Behroz is unable to see that, he blamed Suhaib & shed off all his frustrations on him. Behroz seemed like a helpless soul who couldn’t own his mistakes in front of Agha Jaan & now when he found a soft target who he knows loves him the most, he ended up saying wrong things to a wrong person. It seemed as if Behroz was kind of unhappy with how Suhaib has earned Agha Jaan’s support & that is why he wanted to get away from him because Suhaib reminded him of what Behroz couldn’t become for Agha Jaan & in stead of being disappointed at himself, he treated Suhaib badly because of his own insecurities & a reality check that he got after becoming a father & after seeing how responsible his younger brother has become. As far as his own life is concerend, Behroz has proved to be a good human being where he does everything to make his wife happy & he is taking charge of all the situations in his life but when it comes to his family, I think he made it clear for the very first time that he was & he is wrong & because of this, the character of Behroz is my least favorite for sure.

Coll 1

I was actually quite excited to see the meeting of Suhaib & Behroz but what transpired was totally unpredictable & that is the beauty of this script. Even though the story on the whole may seem predictable, the way the characters deal with the situation is totally opposite to what we’re expecting at that point of time, which makes this drama look a lot more engaging & actually makes us look forward to it. It was sad to see Behroz not understanding Agha Jaan’s words about what he will feel & go through when he himself will become a father. Now when Behroz himself has stepped into the similar phase of parenthood, I really thought it would be easy for him to understand what Agha Jaan went through when he let him down. I really thought he will repent & try to make things right but just because his life is shaping up well without the support of his father & brother, he really thinks he is going to be fine without them & that makes him look like someone who’s living in a fool’s paradise.

So, this is it from my side. I enjoyed watching this episode like always. Loved the direction & I must say the director has done an amazing job in keeping the acting of all the actors so natural & real because he for sure knows how to make people give their best shot when it comes to acting. The people responsible for styling of the whole cast have done a superb job too. The way their looks change time to time is commendable & I must say I loved the elegance & the makeover of Yasmeen in this episode in particular. She really looked happy seeing her daughter happy & it was so aptly elaborated with her outlook. Ali Rehman has been the star of the show till now. He has done an amazing job & earns full points for giving his best to bring the character of Suhaib to life. To be honest, with the kids overdose in so many dramas these days, I was dreading seeing 7-9 year old Wali & Farah & their pakkay dialogues but I am soooo glad we won’t get to see any of that because the next episode will show a passage of considerable years & for that I am thankful. Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 06!

Awwwwwww, this episode was just so so so sooo special. It left me speechless & to be honest I am not ashamed to admit, it got me overwhelmed too. It was directed just so beautifully & all the actors actually took us on a ride of emotions with them. I am loving this play for the fact that nothing is over-done & all the things that they show, all the conversations that we get to hear & all the situations that we see unfolding – each & everything is just so realistically portrayed & is just so relatable that you can’t help falling in love every single time.

I liked the fact that they showed how everyone got busy in their lives & moved past the depressing period. Agha Jaan got busy with his routine work & Suhaib joined the family business but the best thing that happened to this family after a long time was Wali Suhaib Khan. Similarly, Behroz was pretty much done with the struggling period of his life & he was able to earn a decent living for himself & Ruhina.

I loved the way Arjumand’s character showed every emotion that a mother goes through. Yes, she was unable to come to terms with her relation & that is why she saw this baby as nothing but a liability. She really didn’t give enough time to Suhaib to prove her wrong. In the duo of Behroz & Suhaib, Suhaib was the courteous one & if she had just only for once gone easy on him, he would’ve done everything to make her happy. Yes, they both did not love each other & sadly, they couldn’t fall in love with each other as well because they didn’t give this relation a chance of that sort but luckily for them, the binding factor was introduced & that made them both change. Like Arjumand admitted later, all the things she said were only to punish Suhaib because she saw him as a culprit which he actually wasn’t. It was Arjumand who was finding it hard to accept the destiny’s play & she ended up blaming every single person around her, which I found convincing as well. Yes, after her first outburst, I really felt she was being unfair but the transition that she showed & the way she started showing acceptance left her scot-free. She proved that when a woman becomes a mother, everything changes & that is why, for her the only thing by the end that mattered the most was the well-being of her child, which was beautiful. I actually loved the way Suhaib treated her all this while; he pushed himself as much as he could to never lose his cool & patience because he knew, Arjumand had all the right reasons & he was the only one who was ears to all her rants & rambles that is why he allowed her to say whatever she felt like without judging her for once. The patience that he showed & the way he let go of everything that Arjumand said actually showed the transition he made as a father too & by the end of the episode, I was extremely happy to see them both happy & content with each other.

Collage 1

It was good to see Tajjamul accepting his fault in judging Behroz wrongly. He saw how much Ruhina was being taken care of by Behroz that is why he felt it was now a perfect time to let go of his ego & accept Ruhina & Behroz. Like I said before, I so wish Zohra wasn’t such a typical bhabhi but seems like she can’t help being negative. It was actually kind of annoying to see her being two-faced where she only posed to be a well-wisher of Ruhina in front of Tajjamul but just when she met Ruhina, she couldn’t resist reminding her about the loss that she had suffered & the factor that was missing from her life. I hope the coverage that her character gets is restricted to one or two dialogues per episode because that’s how much I can take from her.

I like Behroz’s character for a fact that he is someone who stands by his words & he is doing everything that he promised Ruhina right after he got married to her. Even though he left a luxurious life behind him, he makes sure to let Ruhina know that all the struggles that he is putting up with are worth it because by the end of the day he gets the satisfaction by knowing that he is fulfilling his promises & he is making his lady love happy. Ruhina’s character isn’t offering much for now but I hope that changes because at the moment, in their story; it is Behroz who is running the show & even though she is supporting him wholeheartedly but, by the end, she just remains a supporting character & I must say a pretty good one at that, so no denying there but I definitely want to see more of & from her.

I must say, the best thing for me about this episode was how it was shown that they all were busy in their respective lives but the connection was never lost. Gen. Feroz also reminded Bakhtiyaar about Behroz & said that he should forgive his son & most importantly, Suhaib actually felt Behroz’s absence the most because he is used to sharing each & everything with his brother & now when it was the biggest day of his life, it was imperative that Behroz was on his mind. Similarly, no matter how swamped with work & responsibilities Behroz must be, he always allows Suhaib & Agha Jaan & the rest of his family to cross his mind because that’s the only way he feels connected to them. They all may be apart, but the relation is still not lost & neither is the hope.

Collage 2

So, this was it from tonight’s episode. I’ll say that again; I loveddd watching this episode & for me, this one belonged to Suhaib, Arjumand & Wali. It was good to know that Laila moved on in her life & got married too. I really like the way the director has taken care of all the minute & intricate details, be it a casual mention of a character to show how they are doing or the backdrop setting, it just adds so much more to the story-telling. This is the reason why I couldn’t stop noticing the old telephone sets, CRT-TV’s, old furnishings in the background & even their dressing. The way they showed a view of Behroz’s house also depicted how well he was doing because when they moved to this place, it was almost empty & now their house was filled with all the necessary things that make a household complete.

I love love loveeeee all the elderlies in this drama. Be it Arjumand’s mother; Yasmeen or Arjumand’s father; Bedaar, be it Bakhtiyaar’s best friend Feroz who hasn’t had a considerable screen time or the most important character Bakhtiyaar, they all are so very special. I love the fact that both the generations have been dealt with so much attention & vigilance because of which you feel for every single one of them as they actually make the story complete & you really can’t imagine either one of them not being in the frame (Zohra excluded). I must say Hareem Farooq takes a crown in this episode because she portrayed all the emotions of Arjumand truthfully without going over-board. You could feel her agitation, her irritation, her depression, her worry & by the end her happiness. I am glad that the casting directors chose Hareem Farooq to play the role of Arjumand because she actually has done justice to it & for a change it is good to see her performing so well. So, I’ll wrap the review & leave the rest for you guys to discuss & also to let me know how much did you guys enjoy watching this episode of Diyar-e-Dil. Can’t wait for the next episode already & seems like finally Behroz will also get the happiness that his brother Suhaib has & I can’t wait to see the reunion of Behroz & Suhaib. Share your thoughts please. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 05!

I am loving this drama so far because of the realistic portrayal of all the ups & downs people go through in their lives. This is something I feel makes this drama unique in its own way because all the tracks & characters are offering us things which we all can understand & relate to in a certain yet different way. I enjoy watching Diyar-e-Dil for the fact that all the episodes have had a perfect pace & the story is moving forward swiftly & not to forget, the amazing performances are nothing short of a bonus.

I found it uber sweet of Bedaar Khan to set his elder brother Bakhtiyaar free of any guilt he thought he might be feeling because of what his son did. I actually thought Bedaar Khan mustn’t have forgiven Behroz for how he left Arjumand in the lurch & ran away but the way he assured Bakhtiyaar actually showed that he was pretty satisfied with Arjumand & Suhaib’s marriage. Being a father, all Bedaar Khan wanted was to see his daughter settled & when that happened, he had no reasons to hold a grudge of any sort against Behroz, which is why he tried to make Bakhtiyaar understand that he should let go of his anger by forgiving Behroz & accepting him wholeheartedly but what Bakhtiyaar said was enough to understand that talking him out of his firm decision was out of question as he had pretty much made up his mind & had decided that he was estranging Behroz for good & that wasn’t due to what he did with Bedaar & Arjumand but because of how he let his father down.

Coll 01

The way Behroz & Ruhina’s return was shown was another highlight of the episode for me where they both tried to walk past what they had just experienced & tried to show each other that everything was normal which was totally opposite to what they both were feeling. Later what Ruhina said about Agha Jaan & Suhaib was completely out of the line because she couldn’t see that no matter what Agha Jaan said, Behroz didn’t complain & didn’t discuss anything with her. Ruhina couldn’t see that Behroz holds himself guilty & for all the right reasons because he betrayed Agha Jaan’s trust so he was in no position to negate whatever Agha Jaan said. I liked the fact that Behroz drew the line straight away & set the limits for Ruhina. I think it was wise of Behroz to let his wife know that no matter what she means to him he will never give her an edge to say whatever she feels like about his father & brother because he still loves & respects them. Behroz has taken a stand for her but that doesn’t mean he has forgotten his family; his father Agha Jaan & his brother Suhaib.

Even though I feel for both Arjumand & Suhaib, I think Suhaib is being unfair to his wife. Yes, he still hasn’t accepted this marriage & Arjumand as his wife; I believe he is letting his submissiveness take a toll on this relation. Just because Suhaib didn’t have a nerve to take a stand at the right time, he thinks avoiding & running away from his responsibilities & to be more precise; his wife is the only best solution to his problems. It is pretty obvious that even though Arjumand may now detest Behroz for his disloyalty, his presence still affects her. She still hasn’t been able to convince herself that Behroz never loved her which is why just like a teenager she tried to comfort herself by comparing herself to Behroz’s wife & his love Ruhina. Both Arjumand & Suhaib are tied in such a strange situation where nothing seems right for them. Just when I feel that Arjumand is trying to break the ice, just so that at least she can be in a comfortable zone around Suhaib, she taunts him giving away an impression that she likes to punish him for getting married to her. Agha Jaan’s visit was something that they both weren’t looking forward to because right now, they both haven’t been able to convince themselves & each other that they should give this marriage a go. Suhaib only spent some time with Arjumand just because he took another one of those orders from Agha Jaan which he couldn’t refuse obliging to & that makes him look like a very weak person, who only does what Agha Jaan orders him to do.

Coll 02

As much as I like seeing Behroz & Ruhina together, I also like the kind of beginning they both have had which is full of highs & lows because it depicts how real life is & how every couple starts from the scratch. To people, it may seem that they both are living a picture perfect life but if they take a closer look they will see that the only perfection they have is the love they both share because other than that, the circumstances & the situations they both have been through are far from being perfect. It was sad seeing their little happiness being short-lived where Ruhina ended up blaming herself & Behroz for hurting the people that meant the most to them both. Even though Behroz tried to calm her down, the following scene showed that what Ruhina said hit him as a reality check too because of which deep down he also ended up thinking that he lost his baby because he let his father down the most & he hurt him for which he now was regretful.

So, this was it from tonight’s episode. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it & I feel gradually they have increased the intensity & intricacy of each & every situation with each passing episode. Both the couples are going through a tough time but as far as Ruhina & Behroz are concerned, it is too obvious that good times will roll in for them soon as they both have decided to stand by each other through thick & thin but when it comes to Suhaib & Arjumand, I am kind of more eager to know if they both will ever have a normal & healthy relation because the preview suggested something entirely different. I feel all the actors did an amazing job in this episode as well & everyone got a fair share to shine but in this episode Sanam Saeed stood out for sure & she actually made us feel the pain & heartache of Ruhina. I absolutely loved this episode & I hope you guys did as well. Share your thoughts & let me know your comments about tonight’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil please. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 04!

Whoop! It was such a power-packed episode which ended at such an intense note. I love love love the flow of scenes in each episode where the director exactly knows how to treat us. We get some light-hearted moments, some realistic conversations & then in the end we get a showdown which will change the course of everyone’s life.

‘Apna kaffan bohat shandaar chahti hoon, aj tak kaffan mai itna haseen koi na laga ho, itni haseen lagna chahti hoon’. Arjumand has very well come to terms with the fact that she is now married to Suhaib. Yes, she is hurt & yes, she is shattered, she also knows that she & Suhaib can never have the sort of relation she imagined to have with her husband but just like Suhaib has submitted to Agha Jaan’s wishes, Arjumand has as well. For her, this relation is just a farce that she has to deal with for the rest of her life. I liked the fact that she was persistent on convincing Suhaib to face her & more than that, face the reality they both have to live with till they are alive. Even though Suhaib has gotten married to Arjumand, he still is lost & is struggling within. Even though he is Arjumand’s husband & even though he knows that, he is still escaping all the responsibilities he has towards her. I liked Arjumand’s approach that instead of giving him a silent treatment she decided to break the ice, obviously she doesn’t want anything from this relation but she felt Suhaib needed that reality check to wake up & smell the coffee. They both are a husband & a wife & nothing can change that but what can change is the way they look at it, how they accept it & what they make out of it.

Coll 1

Yes, Behroz & Ruhina are completely in love with each other but I enjoyed all the conversations they had which revolved around the realities they have to face in regards to their limited resources. For a change it was a treat to watch a normal couple on screen sharing a very realistic relationship where they romance with each other, compliment each other & share the minute details, problems & their solutions with each other as well. Even though they both have had a rocky start financially but when they are together, they know how to push each other & they make all the tough circumstances look so easy just because they are ready to stand by each other. In this particular episode, I really felt that Ruhina’s character got the coverage required for us to get to know her better so she opened up & made me actually like her. I like her for the unconditional love she has for Behroz. The way she motivates him & sheds off the burden he might feel due to the added responsibilities actually shows that she is an emotionally strong & an optimistic person.

To be honest, I was relieved to hear Behroz talk about Agha Jaan. At least he isn’t as selfish as we thought he was. I like this story for the fact that we actually get to understand both the side of the stories & we actually feel for people on both the sides as well. I actually like Behroz & Ruhina’s couple & I still feel they both were entitled to choose their life partners for themselves & I also understand the pain Agha Jaan is feeling because of Behroz’s betrayal. Even though Behroz seemed completely lost in Ruhina’s love, it was good to know that at the back of his mind, he always was conscious of how much he must’ve hurt Agha Jaan & Suhaib. Obviously, they all had a very small but close-knit family, so Behroz is completely aware of what he has done just for the sake of his love.

Coll 2

Sadly for Behroz, just when he decided to come to meet Agha Jaan, he came to see his dream of Agha Jaan going far away from him materialize. Ruhina actually really thought that she would be able to convince Agha Jaan & earn his apology but she wouldn’t have imagined the sort of welcome she will receive. I knew it would be very tough to make Agha Jaan understand but for a moment I really thought he might soften up because we have seen him suffering too. We have seen how he misses Behroz’s presence in his & Suhaib’s life but just a sight of Behroz with Ruhina was enough of a reminder of the insult Behroz has inflicted on him all because of his lady-love Ruhina.

The showdown between Agha Jaan & Behroz was intense & was well written, directed & acted as well. Even though Suhaib, Arjumand & Ruhina didn’t have a nerve to utter a single word, their expressions said it all. The way Agha Jaan insulted & belittled Ruhina was only to hit Behroz emotionally because he knew what Ruhina meant to his son, so he decided to get back at him using his weakness & concentrated solely on his wife. ‘Ye kitni moa’zzaz aur kitne aa’la khandaan se hai, siwaye tumhare, sab hi dekh sakte hain’. For Agha Jaan, the criterion for someone to become his daughter-in-law is very high. We really thought that he just wanted Behroz to get married to Arjumand because she was his brother’s daughter but for Agha Jaan, Arjumand didn’t just qualify to become his family member because she was just his niece, for him, she is a blue blood who is modest, has good morals & values & comes from a strict yet decent background. Ruhina lost all her credibility just because her family chose to marry her off with Behroz without his father’s support. Agha Jaan knew just exactly what will hurt Behroz the most & he carefully chose his words because like he said, he really doesn’t want to have any sort of relation with him & he made it official that he has cut ties with him. ‘Meinne appna dil mazboot kar liya hai, tum bhi kar lo’, by saying this Agha Jaan sealed the deal & pretty much said what was left for him to say. He hasn’t forgiven Behroz & he has decided that he will never forgive him. It is official, Behroz can never earn his way back into Agha Jaan’s life & Suhaib has to learn to live without his brother too.

So, this was it from this episode. It was directed beautifully. I loved the way that they didn’t only show how much Ruhina & Behroz were in love, but they actually took a time to show us that they were planning a life together. They wanted each other as their life partners & the love they have plays a pivotal role in their lives. I really felt that Sanam Saeed did an amazing job in this particular episode because until now, she didn’t get enough chance to shine but now when she got it, she proved herself. I liked the way she projected her mindset through her body language. She is comfortable, she is ecstatic & she is happy just when she is around Behroz & it was so evident just by looking at her. I really liked how they added a softer side to Agha Jaan’s character through the respect her has for Arjumand & how he was making an effort to make her feel special. Just because she is his daughter-in-law he felt she needed all the love, care & attention & he made sure she feels loved. I feel Hareem Farooq was just the right face for the character of Arjumand, the innocence she has & the difficulty she is facing was well executed by Hareem & I must commend the makeup artist for not burying her innocence beneath the deep layers of makeup, her makeup is spot on & was all that she needed to look her best. Abid Ali has given such a strong face to the character of Agha Jaan & he has done complete justice to this character’s demeanour. I can’t wait for the next episode already & I can’t wait to see what Behroz & Ruhina’s reaction will be, however I do feel after this incident, they both will grow closer to each other because Ruhina will now understand what Behroz has left behind all because of her & she will value his love more & Behroz will cherish her more than ever as he’ll know she’s the only family he has as of now. Please share what you felt about this episode & let me know your thoughts as well. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 03!

Awww it was such a beautiful episode, it was more like a roller-coaster ride of bitter sweet moments & emotions because every single scene forced me to change what I was feeling for every character. I must say, this episode was an absolute treat to watch & it wasn’t only well directed, but was very very well written well because it showed two different situations & circumstances with a perfect balance.

Before saying anything, I must say the star of this episode for me was Agha Jaan. I don’t think I have enough words to praise Abid Ali for portraying the feelings & emotions of a father to perfection. Whether it was an exchange of glance between him & Suhaib at the mention of Laila’s name or it was a humble order yet stern reminder to Arjumand about who she was & what was expected from her, Agha Jaan showcased the shades his personality has with so much ease. His family members might think that what they feel is hidden from Agha Jaan but he exactly knows what’s transpiring in his home, which is why just when Suhaib & Laila made a journey together, he subliminally hinted about their proposal in front of Feroz & that is why he exactly knew why Laila didn’t show up for lunch because he keeps himself aware of what is happening around him. Just when Agha Jaan met Arjumand, I really felt he might sympathize with her or give her a chance to voice her frustrations out but he didn’t let that happen because for him, his verdict is everything & it should be followed no matter what. Instead of directly conversing with Arjumand, he first spoke to Yasmeen about how she should take care of the ‘bride-to-be’ as he knew this was exactly what he had to say to make Arjumand stop. I must say the scene where he was engrossed in his thoughts till he walks down to supervise the Nikkah of Suhaib & Arjumand was directed brilliantly. Agha Jaan actually showed what it feels like to be a defeated father because just when he was thinking what could’ve been if only Behroz hadn’t left, he gathered himself & faced the harsh reality that Behroz was never going to come back & has left for good. The transition from a hopeful father to the one who was hurt was portrayed by Abid Ali brilliantly & his minute expressions were a treat to watch. Agha Jaan might say that Behroz’s departure doesn’t bother him; he himself knows that his words don’t actually back his expressions.

Coll 1

I felt a lot for Arjumand as well because even though Behroz’s rejection was hard on her, what’s harder was getting married to Suhaib because she feels nothing for him & has always thought of him as her fiancé’s younger brother & nothing else. It was sad that she didn’t even get the chance to absorb what has happened & was forced into marrying her cousin out of her will. The parting scene of Laila & Suhaib was done well too. Laila accepted the fate’s decision gracefully & without making it difficult for Suhaib, she decided to part with him on a good note because she already knew how hard this must’ve been for Suhaib as well, so she didn’t want to burden him more & like a true friend, she felt it was her duty to set him free from any such guilt he might feel in regards to her.

To be honest, I really don’t think Tajjamul needed to be so hard on Ruhina. Yes, she loves Behroz, Behroz loves her & they both made a decision of standing by each other but just because Tajjamul had some preconceived notions about Behroz, he didn’t look past them to see how sincere Behroz was. Being her elder brother Tajjamul should’ve understood that in the initial stages of her marital life, Ruhina would need his moral support but he cut ties with her on a baseless reason that just because she decided to get married to the person she loves, she won’t be entertained in his house anymore. To be honest, as much as I feel that Behroz wasn’t at fault for taking a stand for himself, what actually was happening back in his home made me dislike him because he knew that everyone will have to face the consequences. He made his journey without even thinking for a second that one single decision of his will ruin everyone’s life & this is exactly what happened. If I ignore what Agha Jaan, Suhaib & Arjumand are going through, I really feel Behroz didn’t make a mistake & he isn’t at fault but if I look at their suffering & if I see how heart-broken they all are, I really feel Behroz is guilty & this is what I loved about this episode that you really don’t feel a certain sort of emotion for any character, you actually get to ‘understand’ them & their situations which makes this drama a perfect package & a perfect journey in its own unique way.

Coll 2

I must say the episode ended at such a sweet note where Behroz & Ruhina not only promised to stand by each other through thick & thin, they actually started putting things into perspective because they knew, it was now the time for them to actually prove themselves. The very first confessions Behroz made when he gets to be with Ruhina were very sweet & heart-warming. He wants nothing but the best for his wife & now when she is with him, he will make sure to reciprocate everything he can because Ruhina decided to be with him in the darkest period of his life & she deserves all the happiness.

So, this is it from my side. I must this drama is getting better & better by each passing episode & the exact same thing can be said about their acting too. I loved the way Hareem Farooq acted this time around as she was able to convey the feelings of Arjumand aptly. Ali Rehman portrayed the feelings of a heart-broken but submissive son perfectly too. Sanam Saeed has been effortless in her acting right from the beginning & so has been Mikaal Zulfikar but but but, Abid Ali takes the crown this time & for all the obvious & right reasons & oh I must say I love the way they use the song ‘yaar-e-man’ at a perfect timing, it really completes the scene every single time. The preview suggested that Arjumand will somehow accept Suhaib as her husband & will want more from this relation, I can’t wait to see how things’ll unfold between them & with Behroz’s return with Ruhina, I’m sure we’re going to be in for some more drama. Can’t wait already. :) Share your thoughts on this episode of Diyar-e-Dil please & let me know how much did you enjoy watching it. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 02!

…& the awesomeness prevails. I absolutely enjoyed this brilliant episode which was coupled with some power-packed performances & emotional scenes. I am so glad that without wasting a lot of time they progressed the story at a perfect pace & it feels like we’re already through a lot of happenings & I already can’t wait to see what’s more in store for us.

Whatever happened was actually quite foreseeable. Behroz understood that Agha Jee would never allow him to get married to Ruhina, so he decided to let Bedaar Khan know what was going through his mind. Even though Behroz knew that his decision won’t be respected by Bakhtiyaar, what he didn’t know was that his own father will wage a war against him. The way Agha Jee reacted in result to Behroz’s decision went to show that going against his wish was not an option for anyone in that family because Bakhtiyaar wants what he wants & when he doesn’t get it, without a further a due he leaves no room for redemption. Arjumand means a lot to Bakhtiyaar but what matters to him the most is his word of honour & he just couldn’t accept that his own son wasn’t ready to oblige. Bakhtiyaar actually underestimated Behroz when he didn’t take his stance seriously because he didn’t know that Behroz had made up his mind & he wasn’t going to budge at all – he loves Ruhina & he would do anything to be with her.

Coll 1

I absolutely love the relationship both Behroz & Suhaib share & their parting scene was so very emotional. Suhaib tried to stop Behroz from leaving by doing & saying everything that he could but more than Behroz’d listen to his brother, he wanted to show Bakhtiyaar that he would not let him rule his life & he wasn’t going to bear the burden of his decisions anymore because he was done with being his stooge.

Even though for Bakhtiyaar, there was a glimmer of hope that Behroz might return, he still decided that he wanted to move on & find ways of damage control because he didn’t want to become the talk of the town as everyone knew the finalized date & time of Arjumand & Behroz’s Nikkah. It was quite expected of Bakhtiyaar to approach Suhaib & order him to get married to Arjumand. Yes, Bakhtiyaar is unreasonable but then that’s who he is, he has gotten immune to controlling people in his life, he is used to seeing people follow his orders & this is exactly why instead of asking Suhaib his thoughts on this matter, he, on his own decided that Suhaib will take charge of the situation & will get married to Arjumand. What Laila & Suhaib said to each other didn’t come off as a surprise because their chemistry & candidness was too obvious the moment they both shared the space. Laila has already fallen for Suhaib & so has he but unlike Behroz, he cares for his father, his father’s pride & his father’s dignity a lot & because of that he already knows that he is in no position to question Bakhtiyaar’s choices.

Coll 2

While watching this episode I just couldn’t stop wondering how peaceful things would’ve been if Tara Mehmood’s character wasn’t made so typical or in fact wasn’t made a part of this whole drama to begin with? Yes, she is Ruhina’s bhabhi & we all know that but why is she so typical? Her ways with twisting words & situations was the only black spot on this otherwise perfect episode. I liked the conversation between Ruhina & Behroz because there was nothing but honesty. Behroz has left everything & now it was time for Ruhina to stand by him & she actually made sure to let him know that she will stand by him because even for a moment she didn’t hold back in voicing out her thoughts in front of Muzammil & Zohra. What Muzammil said was also true because being Ruhina’s brother he naturally has inhibitions about Behroz & his proposal but I am sure he won’t be able to resist for too long because both Behroz & Ruhina are going to stand by each other. Even though once again we didn’t get to see much of Ruhina’s character, I have suddenly developed a liking for her because of the way she projected herself, she knows she loves Behroz & that is why whatever he said didn’t shake her for a second as for her, nothing else matters anymore & that made me like her a lot.

So, this was it from this week’s episode of Diyar-e-Dil. I absolutely love the way all these actors are performing in this serial. Mikaal has been able to convey the emotions of Behroz perfectly & Ali Rehman has done so well as a submissive son. I must say Sanam Saeed looked beautiful & the whole ethnic look suits her even more & her acting is obviously the perk of watching her on screen & Hareem Farooqi has acted effortlessly as well. Even though this episode had a lot of intense scenes, they all were perfectly handled where nothing was overdone. I am glad that the director has put in a lot of work & attention to detail like the furnishing in Ruhina’s home aptly shed a light on the era the story for now is showcasing & similarly the mention of cheque book also hit the mark. To be honest, even though Arjumand was down & depressed like we all expected her to be, I was happy to see her retaliating against Agha Jee’s decision because no matter how much she wanted to get married to Behroz, she actually informed her family that she wasn’t so eager to get married that she’d settle for anyone just like that. I can’t emphasize enough on how these scenic locations have contributed in making this drama a visual treat, the moment you tune to the episodes of Diyar-e-Dil; it takes you to the world of its own. This episode was more like a rollercoaster ride of emotions because where you actually understand the rigidity of Bakhtiyaar, you feel for Suhaib & Behroz too. Even though Behroz might seem stubborn, you actually understand where he’s coming from as he is done with pleasing his father & now he has taken a stand for the most important thing in his life. I love the characterization & more importantly I like the depth with which all these characters have been written & etched out. I absolutely enjoyed watching the second episode of Diyar-e-Dil & please let me know your thoughts as well. :)

Diyar-e-Dil – Episode 01!

Just one word for the very first episode of Dayar-e-Dil & yes, you guessed it right, its amazinggggggg. I don’t know for how long I have waited for this drama to begin & now when it has hit our TV screens, I am so glad it has kick-started with a bang. Direction of Haseeb Hassan & Writing of Farhat Ishtiyaaq; Dayar-e-Dil has had a promising beginning on a very clear note.

Collage 3

The story for now revolves around the family of Bakhtiyaar Khan (Abid Ali); a patriarch who has two sons Behroz Khan (Mikaal Zulfikaar) & Suhaib Khan (Ali Rehman). Bakhtiyaar Khan has gotten his eldest son Behroz engaged to his brother Bedaar Khan’s (Rasheed Naz) daughter Arjumand Bedaar Khan (Hareem Farooqi). Behroz is exactly like his father who doesn’t like to follow but likes to make his own rules whereas Suhaib being the youngest understands the specific boundaries his father has set for pretty much everything in their family & he doesn’t seem to mind following his father’s rules. I actually liked how effortlessly they gave us an insight into their characters right from the beginning & it actually helped us in forming a definitive opinion about all of them. As far as Behroz is concerned, I see him as a rigid eldest son of the family who doesn’t like being commanded whereas Suhaib being the youngest is quite flexible & has allowed himself to mould in such a way where he doesn’t want to question his father for all of his decisions. In comparison to Behroz, Suhaib understands the intricacy of every situation & he comes across as a very easy going & courteous person too.

Collage 1

Arjumand is like your typical desi girl who is hopelessly in love with her fiancé of childhood. I liked her character in a way that she lives in a small bubble of her own where she believes that her life is enclosed within this home & she already has started taking care of it like her own as she knows this is what she is bound to do. Even though the drama has just begun but I already feel a lot for Arjumand as she doesn’t know that a dark cloud is about to overtake her life. Another interesting character that got introduced was of Laila Feroz Khan (Eshita) who happens to be a daughter of Bakhtiyaar’s friend Feroz. Suhaib & Laila instantly form a connection when they get to meet for the first time & I think their track will offer us a lot more in the episodes to come.

I actually liked all the conversations but the one that stood out for me was the conversation between Behroz & Suhaib where he tells him that he is already in love with someone & she is Ruhina Arsalan (Sanam Saeed). Suhaib obviously reacts like any rational person would because he not only understands what sort of harm this decision of his brother will cause to his family but he also knows what Behroz means to Arjumand as he has seen how much she actually wants to be with him. Suhaib tries to make his brother understand that this decision of his will take a toll on the whole family but Behroz seems to have made up his mind & he doesn’t want to turn back. Ruhina on the other hand also speaks to her brother (Behroz Sabzwari) about Behroz but he tries to point out all the differences between his & their family. Ruhina firmly believes that Behroz will get married to her as he has promised but her brother thinks the otherwise. Even though we didn’t get to know much about Ruhina’s character, I just couldn’t stop thinking how similar both Ruhina & Arjumand in many aspects were. They both are rooted, traditional & simple girls but the only difference is, Behroz loves Ruhina & Arjumand falls short on that account. Finally, Behroz musters up the courage to let Bakhtiyaar know about his decision of not marrying Arjumand but Bakhtiyaar brushes it off thinking it’s just an infatuation & it’s nothing to be bothered about.

Collage 2

The preview of the next episode suggested a lot more drama & I can’t wait to see more. Even though the story for now seems pretty figure-able but I loved how they have executed it. The production value obviously is top-notch & so is the direction. The crisp quality & amazing camera work has done justice to all the beautiful locations & the mansion they have chosen for shooting. I love the casting of this project; Hareem Farooqi fits well in the character of a hopeless romantic & she actually was able to pull off that look of a girl who gets all excited seeing her fiancé in her surroundings. Mikaal Zulfikaar seems good in his serious role too but for now Ali Rehman actually stood out for me the most because he has not only changed his look to fit the character of a guy belonging to a tribal area but he has actually imitated the accent as well & that’s adds a lot more to his acting & gives it another dimension which is commendable. Eshita looks nice too but I feel I have seen her playing a role of an uptight & prim & proper girl before so she doesn’t offer anything different. Abid Ali is Abid Ali & his name says it all. I actually liked the OST too but I wish they had used the one which was played in the teasers; it actually matched the whole feel of the drama perfectly. So my verdict obviously is; so far so good. Please share your say on the very first episode of Dayar-e-Dil & let me know how eager you are to watch the next episode. :)

Diya Ali Wants To Be Miss World International 2017

Diya Ali Wants To Be Miss World International 2017

Earlier in the year, our very own Lahore-based model Madeeha Naseer won ‘big’ at Miss Asia Pacific International, having received the much-coveted honour of Miss Perpetual.

Now Madeeha, commonly known as Diya Ali, is head-fast into achieving even bigger heights; her next stop claims to be Miss Mister World International 2017 and she is climbing up the ladder of getting the crown by representing Pakistan in the upcoming competition at Kosovo.

The event will be held on the 17th of July till the 23rd, where Madeeha is all set to compete to strive and compete for her intense vigor in modelling.

“It is an honour to represent Pakistan in a contest where so many beautiful women will compete with each other. Although I have no cooperation from the government and my modelling journey could be short-lived, I am excited to be nominated,” Diya, The Express Tribune.

Apparently, this contest is the one big event she has been holding out on, and the only reason why she participated in earlier events was to build up on her confidence and learn the know-hows of modelling.
Simultaneously Diya strongly believes in the saying, beauty is as beauty does. Having her Masters done in Finance, the model thinks that education, confidence and plannings are the essential prerequisites that every woman needs to acquire in order to emerge as a successful model.
“I believe these are qualities that make one truly beautiful. I’m trying to attain basic knowledge about this profession because that is extremely important. I have been travelling to different countries and meeting international models who have participated in Miss World International before. I have also been learning different things about our culture to be able to answer questions and interact confidently.” – The Express Tribune

She has stated to been asked to work in Hollywood film following Face of Arabia. Although mo details of the project were disclosed, she does want to keep acting in international films as one of her priorities and opt it as a profession in the longer run.

It was not easy auditioning for Miss Mister World International and Diya admits to having encountered many snags along the way. However, she is grateful for the support she received from her loved ones.

“I am thankful to my friends and family for supporting me. Representing Pakistan on an international level is a bold move for any model but I promise the people of my country that I will never do anything that goes against our culture. I am confident I will earn another honour for Pakistan.” – The Express Tribune.

We wish her the very best of luck and hope she is able to succeed in her aims!

One can never go wrong with the traditional shalwar kameez and that too in the classic black/gold combination. We love how Mahira has kept her look simplistic with minimal makeup and khussas. Mahira opted for chunky earrings which adds a pop of color to her overall look.

Maya Ali in Faiza Saqlain

If you’re a hardcore Maya Ali fan, you already know who her favorite designer is and that is none other than Faiza Saqlain. Maya has worn many outfits by the designer but it is this one that caught our eye the most. Sleek straight hair, smokey eye makeup and chunky earrings makes this look a sure shot winner.
