The same picture was shared by Ayeza Khan on her Instagram where she added the details, sharing names of her and Danish’s character for the drama. Ayeza Khan will be playing Mehru while Danish Taimoor will be taking the role of ShahJahan for the upcoming drama, which seems to be a romance story from the pictures shared.
Accoring to news, the drama will feature a star-studded cast and is expected to hit TV screens on Geo Entertainment in the first quarter of 2020.
This will be the first drama serial of Ayeza Khan and Danish together after getting married in 2014. Before their marriage, Ayeza and Danish had shared the screens in multiple drama serials including Saari Bhool Hamari Thi, Shareek e Hayat, Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain as well as a telefilm called Jab We Wed.
Here are a few other pictures of Mehru and Shahjahan;
After delivering hit drama serials from Hum TV and ARY Digital, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, the ace writer, is now set to make a mark from Geo Entertainment as well. According to news, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has signed a special deal with 7th Sky Entertainment and will be writing more dramas for them to be aired on Geo Entertainment.
“I have signed a deal with Asad Qureshi and Abdullah Kadwani of the 7th Sky Entertainment. I will be writing about 3-4 dramas for them every year,” a leading online publication, quoted Khalil ur Rehman Qamar.
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, no matter how controversial he is, is one of the top writers in Pakistan. The writer has given us hit dramas including Pyare Afzal, Sadqay Tumharay, Landa Bazaar, Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai and the recently hit Meray Paas Tum Ho. Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has also written the highest grossing film in Pakistan i.e. Punjab Nahi Jaungi and is currently working on the script for London Nahi Jaunga for Humayun Saeed again.
Working with a production giant like 7th Sky Entertainment, that already has a knack for creating the biggest sensations on television, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, is certainly going to bring to the audience some serious entertainment and maybe more heartbreaks with his usual writing style.
Finally Ehd E Wafa brought the episode that everybody had been excitedly waiting for. Although this week’s episode had Saad and Dua finally tying the knot, what excited Pakistan more was the SSG reunion. The boys are now back together as friends and no matter how ominous the upcoming episodes appear to be, this week’s episode was all about friends and the power of friendship.
SSG Reunion in Ehd E Wafa’s latest episode has made the entire Pakistan emotional as majority of people are missing their friends and realizing the value of true friendship.
Check out these reactions from social media below to see how Ehd E Wafa’s latest episode is making Pakistanis miss their friends;
And that’s not it. Along with the friendship and the bonding shown, some people couldn’t help but praise how the four actors were absolutely natural with their chemistry as friends. Osman Khalid Butt, Wahaj Ali, Ahmed Ali Akbar and Ahad Raza Mir have done absolutely wonderful in their respective characters in Ehd E Wafa.
The casting of this show is so on point. The chemistry these 4 share as best friends is so real. Not even for once it seems that they are acting. It all looks so natural. Plus writer has made sure that we connect to both their quarrels and fun ❤#EhdeWafapic.twitter.com/FfcX7y7OtC
There is no denying the fact that Pakistani drama industry is blessed with the best. There is no dearth of talent when it comes to acting but there are always times when some actors fail to give good performances. No one can be at their best all the time but viewers expect better from actors who have given some brilliant performances in the past. While these actors are really good performers otherwise, there are always those instances when they either overact or fail to breathe life into their characters. In an attempt to be ‘different’ these actors tend to give performances which are simply the worst. A script of course makes a huge difference but sometimes an average written character too can become likable if the actor performing the role gives a good performance.
Unfortunately, some of the biggest actors recently gave worst performances. Here is the list of those Pakistani actors who gave the worst performances in the recent dramas.
Natasha Hussain (Ye Dil Mera)
Natasha Hussain is a well-known model who made her comeback in dramas with the play Ye Dil Mera. Ye Dil Mera is a popular play with some big names attached to it. Natasha Hussain is playing the role of Farhana Khala, a sister, wife and khala whose role is limited but crucial to the plot. Farhana Khala all of a sudden is shown being highly inquisitive about her sister’s death and that is when the viewers repeatedly got to see scenes covering her curious mind. Natasha Hussain’s character itself doesn’t have a lot to offer but her performance makes it even more annoying. From her outlook to her expressions, everything is all over the place! You would expect better from someone who has had so much exposure in the industry. Natasha Hussain has taken Farhana Khala’s curiosity to a whole new level with her exaggerated expressions. She has tried too hard to show Farhana’s puzzling state of mind and has ended up leaving the viewers puzzled whether they should watch her scenes or just forward them! Natasha Hussain is also seen wearing more make-up than necessary in all the scenes and it does not even look like it has been done by a professional. She could have kept her look casual and stylish at the same time but that has definitely not been the case. In most of the scenes she has dressed up like a teenager which does not help! Did Natasha Hussain think she needed to show that she could still pull of the looks Sajal Ali is sporting in the drama, even at this age?! It certainly seems like it!
Osman Khalid Butt (Ehd-e-Wafa)
Osman Khalid Butt is a really popular actor who has been part of some of the biggest dramas recently. While Osman Khalid Butt does wonders when he is playing a fun or comic character, he cannot act to save his life in the more serious roles. Ehd-e-Wafa has some really powerful performances to its credit by young and old actors therefore Osman Khalid Butt’s wooden acting stands out like a sore thumb. More than 20 episodes of Ehd-e-Wafa have gone on air till now and out of all these episodes, Osman Khalid Butt has acted well only in few scenes. His long hair right from the beginning were distracting and he looked older than all the other boys. Once his character Shahzain went back to his village and he had to play the role of a spoiled feudal, he did not fit into it at all! He either had no expressions or way too many expressions, basically his acting has been anything but effortless. Since he got more screen time than all the other leading actors for many weeks, his bad performance stood out even more. Out of all the boys playing the lead in the drama, Osman Khalid Butt’s performance has been most disappointing. Osman Khalid Butt has once again proved that he lacks versatility and he can do only certain type of characters. When he has to do more serious roles, he completely loses track and the viewers find it really difficult to relate to his track. Osman Khalid Butt should stick to doing light and comic roles since he clearly cannot do serious acting.
Hira Mani (Mere Pass Tum Ho)
Hira Mani has earned a lot of fan following in the past few years. She also takes pride in the fact that she is the only actress who managed to make such a big name for herself even though she joined the drama industry after she got married and was already a mother. In Mere Pass Tum Ho Hira Mani joined the drama late as Rumi’s teacher Hania. Right from her first scene Hira Mani failed to bring out the best side of her character. Her overall look was another factor which made it difficult for the viewers to take her character as a teacher seriously. This character did not need any kind of glamour yet Hira Mani’s revealing sarees made the viewers wonder what she was thinking while choosing her wardrobe. Hania’s character was tricky and it had many shades. Unfortunately, the only shade which Hira Mani truly nailed was that of being a judgmental outsider. She completely failed to portray the loving and sensitive side of her character properly on screen. Hira Mani is another actress who has the same expressions no matter what role she is playing. She also tends to overdo the ‘cuteness’ whether the role demands it or not. Hania’s character could have been far more graceful if Hira Mani was less of herself and more of the character she was playing.
Irsa Ghazal (Ruswai)
Irsa Ghazal is a phenomenal actress but her acting in Ruswai is the perfect example of overacting which literally gets on your nerves right from her very first appearance. Irsa Ghazal plays the role of Salma, who is the mother of main lead Salman. She is a materialistic and controlling rich woman with absolutely no class. Thanks to Irsa Ghazal’s pathetic acting in the drama the ‘no class’ element of her character stands out more than anything else. Irsa Ghazal did not have to try so hard to make people hate her character but she did and in turn ended up being terribly annoying. Saba Faisal and Saba Hameed have been seen playing similar roles in dramas often and they managed to be negative without being extremely annoying like Irsa Ghazal. Irsa Ghazal has tried harder than necessary to play the vamp with her over exaggerated body language and a weird manner of talking which does not go well with her character. Salma has been shown as an educated yet shallow woman but Irsa Ghazal’s portrayal is such that Salma comes across as an annoying wannabe. Her acting makes you wonder why someone like Ariz Khan got married to her in the first place. In order to look fake, Irsa Ghazal has seriously compromised on her acting. We expected better from her since she is such a good actress otherwise.
Imran Ashraf (Kahin Deep Jalay)
Imran Ashraf recently gave the best performance of his career as Bhola. Ever since Ranjha Ranjha ended, it seems like Imran Ashraf has been trying extra hard to re-introduce himself as the ‘hero’ although he himself has said that he wants to redefine the term hero! That is why he has been concentrating on his overall look more than ever in dramas now and is trying hard to look different than he did in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. While we absolutely loved Imran Ashraf in so many dramas because he is such a daring and brilliant actor, he completely failed to deliver in the play Kahin Deep Jalay. Imran Ashraf is playing a negative character in the play with the utmost bechargi! People are finding his scenes comic because of the expressions and the overall acting. There are others who think that he is trying too hard to walk away from Bhola and hence losing his grip on acting.
Sanam Jung (Mein Na Janoo)
After hosting morning shows for so many years, Sanam Jung surely needed to do a crash course in acting before taking up a new project. Sanam Jung plays a character which is incredibly annoying in Mein Na Janoo and she has made sure that her portrayal is even more annoying! Sanam Jung has clearly concentrated more on her make-up, hair and dresses than she has on her acting. Even though Saira’s character itself is quiet lame but Sanam Jung has made it even more so by nailing the bechargi and overdoing it even in situations where she is shown as a relatively stronger individual. Even when Saira tells her mother to take a stand in so many scenes or when she is re-assuring her husband of her love, Sanam Jung still does not change her expressions. Even while uttering dialogues which show Saira’s strength, Sanam Jung makes sure she looks like the most victimized person on earth. Sanam Jung’s expressions and her hairstyle are two things which have stayed the same no matter what her character went through! She has sported similar looks and expressions all through the drama which has been enough to put the viewers to sleep.
Firdous Jamal (Thora Sa Haq)
It is definitely ironic that an actor like Firdous Jamal who is so experienced and has given so many impressive performances is all of a sudden overacting in the play Thora Sa Haq. Firdous Jamal’s character in the play is simple and it could even be quite likable yet his acting has been over-the-top right from the start. His portrayal is a serious case of too many expressions and trying too hard. Why would a seasoned actor like him do something like that? We can only wonder! Watching Firdous Jamal’s scenes in Thora Sa Haq is tormenting because his overacting is simply unbearable. Even some of the younger actors are giving a far better performance than him. Even though the character he is playing in the drama has taken a positive turn but Firdoud Jamal’s performance continues to be as exaggerated as it has been right from the first episode.
Parveen (Mera Dil Mera Dushman)
The actor playing Parveen’s role in Mera Dil Mera Dushman seems to be really impressed by the star plus negative characters since she has been giving the most evil and conniving expressions even when there is no need to do so. We are pretty sure she watched all those mother-in-laws in star plus plays who love putting their bahus through hell and then reenacted those performances in this one play. The way her eyes pop out and the manner in which she rolls those eyes is just plain hilarious although her role is definitely not comic. This is what happens when you take the evil side of your character more seriously than necessary!
There is one thing common between all these actors, all of them failed to portray different shades of their characters and only focused on one shade. These performances basically prove just how important it is for actors to understand their characters and not try too hard while portraying them on screen.

Celebrities Kids are celebrities themselves and that is very much true if we talk about the Bollywood industry. These days when celebrities are quite vocal about their personal lives and do share their children’s pictures and progresses with their fans and followers, almost every child of the star is a known star.
However, things were pretty different if you go two decades back. It was a very little that the audience got to see celebrities’ kids and Sara Ali Khan belongs to the same era. Being the daughter of veteran actress Amrita Singh and Saif Khan, Sarah is considered to be the cutest baby of the industry. Here are few of the most amazing pictures of Sara Ali Khan with other celebrities, indicating she is all famous and loved by the senior actors of the B-Town!
Sooryavanshi is one of the very much awaited movies of 2020 as it will be bringing back on screen, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif together. The two of them have been seen on screen many times together but it has been quite a while that their fans have been waiting to have them on screen. Been directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie is all about the Cops and the Good and Bad, continuing the Shetty Legacy.
The movie is set for its release on March 27th, 2020 and the audience can simply not wait. The trailer was supposed to be out on February 27th, but it has now been delayed and will make out to the screens on March 2nd, 2020. So by then, keep your fingers crossed!
We did reveal just a few days back that Kangana will now be seen in an exclusive role that she has always been dreaming to play, and here comes its first look. The Panga actress will now be seen playing the role of the Air Force pilot in the movie Tejas. The movie is written and to directed by Sarvesh Mewar.
The story of the movie revolves around the event of including women as pilots in the Indian army in 2016. For the women of India, the event has been a sign of women empowerment to have the females in the combat role. The first look of the movie is out where you can see Kangana as a combat pilot with an air force plane at the back.
Kangana’s last movie Panga has badly failed to impress her fans and people now look forward to see what this actress has more to show in a quite strong role.
Box Office can be surprising at times. not only for the viewers, but for the actors as well. while some movies that are far too away from the basic understanding of the audience, do simply amazing, while the good story-line and a great cast goes all unwelcome by the fans. Talking about the much anticipated movie of this Valentines Day, Love Aj Kal has been quite a disappointment for the viewers. just in the first four days of the release, the movie has been able to grab a business of 20. crore approximately but the reviews of the movie are even worst.
Social media is all blasted with funny memes where viewers have shown how shocked they are to have a movie of this sort coming from Imtiaz Ali. Love Aaj Kal Again was already in a tricky situation ever since Saif Ali Khan commented on the trailer of the movie and said that he liked the trailer of his movie more.
For Sara Ali Khan, the movie has been a surprise since she was all motivated for its success and hoped for something great coming on her way after the movie to be released in the cinemas. Sara is deeply saddened that the movie is not yet able to reach where it was intended to be but is motivated to see the gradual progress still by the end of next week.

The new year has started and with this year we wish to see some of our favorite Pakistani actors on television. These actors have not been seen on television for a while and their fans would love to see them acting again in dramas. All of these actors are brilliant performers who have always left their mark every time they appeared in dramas. They also have massive fan following yet they make their fans wait for years before they make an appearance. Some of these actors took a break only recently but it would be great if this year, they are seen in dramas again. With the Pakistani film industry flourishing, some of the best actors have shifted their focus from dramas to television. These actors obviously want people to buy a ticket to see them perform. In most countries it is a norm that film actors do not act in dramas but in Pakistan, there are many actors who work in films as well as in dramas. Therefore it would be great if some of these actors could make their comeback in dramas this year especially because not everyone gets the chance to watch the films.
Here is the list of those talented Pakistani actors who should make a comeback in dramas in 2020.
Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan acted in a few dramas and then he started working in Bollywood. Once he came back to join the entertainment industry in Pakistan, he did very limited work. He is either seen in commercials or makes guest appearance in films. His fans miss watching him perform since he started his career with dramas. Although Fawad Khan is making sure that he makes his fans wait to see him perform on the big or the small screen but it would be such a treat if he could make a comeback in dramas this year. Any drama he chooses to be a part of will be an instant hit since there are so many people who anxiously want to see him in dramas again. It would surely be a dream come true for his fans.
Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan too it seems has chosen to work on the big screen and she has not yet shown any interest in working in dramas. Mahira Khan for the longest time was known as a drama actress. Now, there are so many of her fans who watch her movies just to see her perform. Mahira Khan is undoubtedly a superstar whose name sells dramas and films. We would love to see Mahira Khan making a comeback in dramas this year. Mahira Khan is another actress who hasn’t been part of a lot of dramas yet she is extremely popular among the masses. Her comeback in dramas will be the perfect gift for her fans who miss watching her on the small screen.
Fahad Mustafa
Although the fans get to see Fahad Mustafa regularly on television since he hosts a game show on one of the leading channels but he has not starred in a drama for many years now. Fahad Mustafa too has shifted his focus to films and production. His films have done really well and his performances in these films have captivated his audience every time. Fahad Mustafa was always known as a powerful character actor. His fans would love to see him performing in a drama again since he is such a versatile actor who has so much to offer.
Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish Hayat is another actress who has not been seen in dramas ever since Dillagi. After giving a remarkable performance in Dillagi, Mehwish Hayat also decided to work in films alone. She does not even talk about working in dramas again which is rather sad. There are so many viewers who would love to see Mehwish Hayat in yet another powerful role which is different from the one she played in Dillagi. Could 2020 be the year when Mehwish Hayat makes a comeback in dramas? We sure do hope so!
Alishba Yusef
Alishba Yusef is an incredible actress with an acting style which is different from others. Alishba has also not been seen acting in dramas for many years now. Alishba never pursued acting as a full time career but she always took up a drama after every few years. This time around the pause has been longer than ever. She has simply left acting for now but it would be great if she would make a comeback this year.
Maya Ali
Although Maya Ali too it seems has moved on to films but wouldn’t it be great if she makes a comeback in dramas? Most of the viewers miss watching Maya Ali on the small screen since she also has a massive fan following. Maya Ali’s last play on television Mann Mayal was a huge hit and after that she has not been seen in dramas again. Would you like to see her in a drama this year?
Aiman Khan
Aiman Khan was part of quite a few dramas right before she got married. Now, she was more focused on her married life and she also had her baby therefore she took a break from dramas. We are wondering if 2020 would be the year when she makes a comeback. Aiman Khan did say before getting married that she might leave showbiz but later on she also said that her decision was not definite. Aiman Khan is still young therefore if she makes a comeback now, she has a long career ahead of her. The fans are waiting for Aiman Khan to announce her comeback on television.
Most of the actors in this list got fame from acting in dramas but they prefer films over dramas now. While film is a much bigger medium and it is every actor’s dream to work in films but many people in Pakistan still do not go to cinemas to watch films. For them the only way to see their favorite actors perform is to watch their dramas. It would be incredibly nice to see these actors making a comeback in dramas in 2020.
Which one of these actors do you want to see making a comeback in dramas in 2020? Share your views in the comments section.
Tonight’s episode of Ehd-e-Wafa was fast-paced and thoroughly entertaining. The writer Mustafa Afridi has been making sure that every episode has enough emotional and meaningful scenes to keep the viewers connected to the characters. For the past few weeks every episode of Ehd-e-Wafa has been impactful and it continues to deliver. This recent episode covered a great deal. In fact all these developments could have been covered in more than one episode but it is good to watch a play which actually is taking off towards the end as opposed to slowing down because that is what generally happens. Usually by 22 weeks, the viewers are waiting for a drama to wrap up but Ehd-e-Wafa still has a great deal to offer. Tonight’s episode was directed brilliantly too. The wedding was covered quickly but convincingly and it was good to see that the focus was on the journeys of the main characters. I am still waiting for Shehryar to get in touch with Masooma, hopefully soon. The best part of this episode was Dua’s surprise and SSG’s reunion.
SSG Reunited
It was great watching all the boys together again. Their scenes together reminded me of the scenes we watched in the first few weeks. Even though they have come a long way in terms of their careers but when these 4 are together, they are still fun and adventurous. These scenes were so well written and beautifully executed. All those viewers who have crazy friends like these 4, must have been able to relate to these scenes. These grown up men who are actually quite serious and practical otherwise, turned into teenagers when they were with each other – that is the beauty of friendship. For a change Shahzain too was quite likeable in this episode and Osman Khalid Butt’s energy went well with the turn his character has taken. Saad too didn’t take the jokes seriously for a change and after a long time, these friends were back together like they were in college days.
The scene covering Firdous sahab’s meeting with the SSG boys after all these years was heart-warming. The respect these boys have given to their teacher and whatever they did to help him has been another inspiring element of the drama. Although, their relationship with Firdous sahab wasn’t ideal but it was that punishment they got in college which turned their lives around in a way. All of them needed such a shock so that they could get back on track. In a way Firdous sahab shaped up their lives with his discipline and strictness.
The Power of Media
Through Shariq’s scenes, the writer showed the power of media. All those people who were criticizing Ehd-e-Wafa for showing the corrupt element of all the institutions and organizations, must watch this episode since it clearly showed that there were people in the media like Shariq and his boss who were doing their job right. It was Shariq’s video that ultimately made all the difference and that is how Firdous sahab got his land back. Later on, Shehryar was ‘punished’ for his role in all this but that did not seem to make much of a difference to him.
The Wedding
Saad and Dua’s wedding was the most sweet and fun part of tonight’s episode. Right from the moment the SSG got together to the scene when Dua enters the marriage hall, the entire wedding was covered brilliantly. Dua gave Saad a big surprise on their wedding day and I absolutely loved Alizeh Shah and Ahad Raza Mir’s expressions in these scenes.
All of Saad and Dua’s scenes tonight were short but really cute. I loved the dialogues and the performances as well. The romance between Saad and Dua has always been sweet and not too cheesy. The credit khane ki machine dialogue was the best! Ahad Raza Mir is a brilliant actor who translates every single emotion superbly on screen.
Shehryar and Shahzain
Shehryar was transferred to Shahzain’s constituency and the welcome scene was one of my favorites tonight. Shehryar’s conversation with Laal Hussain resonated because his father too was in the same profession. Shehryar values people and their occupations in general but this profession is specifically close to his heart because of obvious reasons.
Shahzain’s political and family feuds got a lot of screen time tonight. The writer through these scenes, laid the foundations for what is coming ahead. Will Shahzain die? The story will once again take a more serious turn in the next episode when Shahzain gets injured and Saad goes away for his next mission. All of these boys are fighting some really serious battles and anyone of them can have a tragic ending. It would however be good if all of them stay alive till the end and then perhaps we can watch a sequel in the next few years!
Final Remarks
This was another episode of Ehd-e-Wafa with remarkable performances to its credit. There were so many small gestures shown in this episode which suggested how these characters were supporting each other. Whether it was Ramsha and Shariq, Dua and Saad, Dua and Saad’s parents or Shehryar and Firdous sahab – all these characters in some way or the other are proving to be a viable support system for each other. It was also good to see Gulzar there on the stage with Saad on his wedding. Overall, tonight’s episode was engaging and heart-warming.

Omair Rana is an actor and theatre director. He runs his theatre company by the name of Real Entertainment Productions (REP) that was founded in 2000 and has done over 50 plays ever since.
He is married to the love of his life, Maira Omair Rana. The couple faced lots of hardships in their relationship but their love story will surely melt your heart.
Omair Rans’s wife shared their beautiful story which is going quite viral on the internet these days. She shared, “1995. I was 16. He was 17. We saw each other for the first time in front of Copper Kettle in Liberty Market Lahore. He was a friend of my cousin’s and they met briefly while I waited next to the car. He thought I looked like a snob and I thought he seemed too chummy. So “hmph” teenage moment! We met off and on with the cousin but never got along. Snob vs too chummy didn’t stand a chance!”
“1997. I was 18. He was 19. I was in my BA 3rd year. He still hadn’t completed his A levels…moment of silence there. I took his number from the same cousin and called him one night in June to talk about something pestering me. Something I knew only he could help with. Incidentally he was alone at home and free. So, as fate would have it, the snob girl and the chummy boy ended up chatting the entire night. Something which is quite a heroic achievement in the times of one landline a house. That too in the TV lounge and Amma Abba’s surveillance at its peak. The next few days we ( separately in our own lives) couldn’t help but think of how well we got along in that one chat. It was actually as comfortable as chuddy buddies.”
She added, “So. A few days later I, the cheeti ( as my sister called me later) called him again! From the same landline ( it was an orange phone I still remember that. I still remember his phone number also) and from the same TV lounge. Guess what? Yes! Another all night chat. But drop scene yeh huwa ke meri walida mohtarima aa gayeen subha 5 bajay. She didn’t exactly figure out what was happening but of course antennas were up. And Mr Rana ki to sitti gum ho gayee (which he told me later). He said he walked outside on the road at 5 am for hours panicking that I may be in trouble.”
“Later in the day he walked to a PCO to call and check if all is well. The phone kept ringing and shutting until I picked it up. And a voice said “Sarah?” I said “ uhh no” He said “just wanted to check are you ok?” I said “Yes”. Two telephone conversations later we were both 100% certain that we wanted to get married,” Maira Omair Rana shared.
“1999. He told his mother kyunke bairooni maddad ki zaroorat par chukki thee. Aik rishta serious ho gaya tha. Army Captain. I wonder where he is now…ok. Focus. His mother was super supportive. I collected the himmat to confide in my mother. Jhaar pari lekin qayamat nahin ayee. Baree hee maharat se donon walidas to milwaya. Makhan lagaya. Kiya nahin Kiya. They both said ok we will help you. Plan yeh tha ke my Ami will defer potential rishtas and his mother will bring the rishta as soon as he nears graduation and can talk to Abu with some grace,” she said.
“2000. My Masters done. Itni parhi likhi qabil heroine. Hero ka final year. Finally!!! Rishta aa gaya.”
She continued and said, “2001. Finally a graduate. Hero found a job of 13000 Rs. Wasn’t great but I was ready to marry an unemployed man to Yeh to lottery thee. I started working. With almost the same pay…and Somehow, after two years of convincing and case pleading we got engaged on the 1st of January 2002. By far that day is, even now, the happiest day of my life. If anyone asks me that question, the first image that pops in my head is that night. It was surreal…honestly it was just meant to be. There was nothing going in our favour but somehow it happened.”
Maira Omair Rana said, “Understanding yeh huwee the shadi araaam Se ho gee. Obviously hero was 23 years old!!! But dekhain, dulhan 22 kee thee na…and that’s OLD in a conservative, Punjabi family. To naya katta khul gaya na. My parents wanted it over and done with ASAP and his parents were reluctant. I can understand both sides but qeema kis ka bun raha tha? Aik saal main tension peak par pohanch gayee aur wohee huwa jo filmi stories main hota hai. Hero ko laga unn ke Amma Abba ki “insult” ho rahee hai and unhon ne mangni tor dee… jee haan!!!”
“Lekin heroine ki dhittayee par to medal banta hai. Aadhi raat ko ja kar Abba ko jagaya aur bhaaan bhaaan kar ke dukhi kahani sunayee. Felix felicious feeling thee seriously. He heard me. And somehow promised to take care of everything. And he did. Date set ho gayee. Aglay saal ki! 365 days later.” Acha jee six months before the big day, Mr Rana decided to quit his job and pursue acting. Chalo jee. Naya sayapa. To huwa Kiya? Everyone discouraged him. Except me. But he wanted to satisfy his parents and went to UAE for a job hunt. Nope. No luck. Came back and announced that whatever it takes I am going to pursue my first love. Theatre and acting.”
She further added and said, “2003. To kar li shaadi. We were the happiest people alive. I honestly have seen VERY few couples as happy on their wedding day as we were. We were actually on cloud 9. Ready to take on anything that life brings. Anything.”

With its perfect script, amazing performances, great aesthetics and superb direction, Alif stands out amongst all other projects running on our television screens these days. A drama that depicts the spiritual journey of finding eternal love of Allah and the right path after being on the pinnacle of success, Alif’s story is captivating.
Currently the drama is going through a phase where Momina (Sajal Aly) and Qalb E Momin (Hamza Ali Abbasi) are starting to fall in love and yet misunderstandings cloud Momin, who just cannot help himself when it comes to Momina.
The latest episode had two absolutely striking halves, one which showed the great chemistry between Hamza Ali Abbasi and Sajal Ali and the other where Sajal Aly cut off Savera Nadeem’s (Maham from Meray Paas Tum Ho) record for delivering the slap of the year. Momina slaps Qalb E Momin while she is in love with him and there the entire audience becomes divided about which aspect of Alif’s latest episode to react to.
Here, check out the latest reactions on Alif’s episode this week and tell us what you think yourself;
yaar I cant get over this scene, they are so haseen and the way momin looks at momina is❤️❤️❤️❤️ the journey from respect to love can be seen through momin's eyes.#Alifpic.twitter.com/bHgIzMnyA2
And of course there were reactions for another ‘slap of the year’ when Momina didn’t hesitate to clear off any misunderstanding Momin might have had without speaking a word.
Yaar baaqi saari cheezein ek taraf, woh thappar tha bara zor ka. And it was so unexpected. Momin was definitely not prepared for it. Bechara 😂😂😂😂 #alif

In every drama, there are both good and the not so good characters. A good character comprises such qualities that it makes it unforgettable and leaves an impact on the viewers. The writers always get full credit for coming up with such characters who speak to the audience on a personal level and help elaborate the realities of life on TV screen in a very realistic manner. The writers also use characters in their stories to convey certain messages and by making them inspirational, they help shape the minds of the audience in that direction.
Pakistani dramas are filled with such characters every now and then who make you look towards the brighter side of the picture. A good character doesn’t necessarily have to be a positive character, if the writer has given it a complete personality who has his or her solid reasons, then they also qualify to be termed as best characters because in the end, they leave an impact. Actors who are assigned the task of portraying such characters usually have the biggest responsibility to do justice to the idea that the writers had in their minds.
Let’s take a look at 15 best characters that can be seen in the dramas that are currently being aired:
Dua (Ehd e Wafa)
This young girl’s character named Dua is an inspiration to all the impressionable minded viewers who are watching Ehd e Wafa. What makes it even special is that the writer has targeted a certain demographic by showing young characters who have their aspirations and have set goals for themselves. Dua’s character is refreshing to see in such an era of Pakistani dramas where every young girl is shown to be growing up dreaming of her knight in shining armour who will get married to her and elevate her status in her own eyes. Dua’s character is a depiction of a strong independent individual who against all odds stood firm on her ground. In toughest circumstances, she succeeded in earning her parent’s support because she made them believe in herself. Now with her will power, she is a doctor and has taken all the right decisions, Saad being one of them!
Abdul Ala (Alif)
Words will not be enough to describe the beauty of this character. It is unfortunate that the drama Alif is at such a stage where the viewers rarely get to see this beautiful character but because he has been the backbone of this story and the fact that Alif is still on-air, he automatically scores a spot in this list. Abdul Ala’s character was wholesome, he was a description of every such human being who has made mistakes and regretted later, and also held himself responsible when he knew what he did was something wrong. Abdul Ala’s journey was nothing short of a realistic experience where people learn from their mistakes and after holding onto their rigidity, they come to a stage in life where they learn that it is costing them the peace of their heart and soul. The way Abdul Ala became a mentor to his grandson Qalb e Momin and could predict every move of his because of his wisdom and experience was a beautiful experience to come across. One of the best characters hands down!
Saad (Ehd e Wafa)
Saad’s character is shown to be larger-than-life, in a sense that he always spreads positivity and influences and motivates people around him. Saad’s character is very refreshing to see because the writer has added layers in him where he was emotional but learnt to deal with his emotions as he attained maturity and clarity of thoughts. Saad always believes in teamwork which also makes him a selfless person because he knows that the reward he will get is far bigger than the favors he does for his friends and acquaintances. Saad is born to excel and that is another brilliant aspect of his personality!
Shehryaar (Ehd e Wafa)
Shehryaar’s character has that emotional feel to it which strikes a chord of the viewers every time they come across his track. Shehryaar’s character portrays the struggles of someone who comes from a very humble background and because he understands all the sacrifices his parents have made for him, he has never lost his focus. Shehryaar is a man of principles and believes in doing right by people. Not abusing and exploiting the power that he has attained also make him a best and memorable character for all the drama buffs.
Momin (Alif)
Momin’s character has stirred the emotions of the viewers as well because his lifelong journey has been told by Umera Ahmed and she has shown all the phases that Momin has been through. Young Momin was a loveable and adorable child who wanted the best for his parents, he was basically a victim of a dysfunctional marriage and from a very young age he saw his mother in a mental and emotional trauma, his father left and Momin spent his entire childhood finding answers for the questions and solving riddles. The adult Momin was trying to find solace by getting lost in the crowd, in the noise, in the world but after his grandfather’s death, he was shaken to the core and forced to think about the purpose of his life. His journey is realistic because each and every viewer watching it can relate to it!
Saad’s Mother (Ehd e Wafa)
To see such a mother in a drama who stands by her son like a support system, guides him like a mentor, is always emotionally available for him like a friend and sheds a tear at the thought of something happening to her son out of her unconditional love for him is absolutely beautiful and makes her one of the best characters that the viewers are getting to see in a current drama. All of her scenes have a feel-good vibe to them because its given that every time she will speak, it will be straight out of her heart and will make a lot of sense. A very inspirational motherly character for sure!
Husn e Jahan (Alif)
A selfless woman who did everything for others all her life and when she made a decision for herself, she was once again forced to be selfless because now, she had to do the heavy lifting for her emotionally absent husband and curious little child who deserved nothing but the best from his parents. Husn e Jahan knew that because her husband was unable to do enough for their child, she was always there for him, she was kind and gentle in her approach towards her son. Husn e Jahan’s character is such that it will make you cry and feel for her because the way she was mistreated and misunderstood by all those who mattered to her the most.
Momina (Alif)
She is another character of this beautiful lot who is selfless and has always done everything to fulfill all the shoes. Momina has been there for her parents, her brother. Before his death and after his death, Momina has put her family above her. The only thing she wished for was the love of someone but when she saw it was too demanding and will force her for lifelong compromises, she walked away. It won’t be wrong to say that Momina’s character is all alone, she does have a family and very supportive friends but in this whirlpool of a life that she is leading, she has realized that she can not fall back on anyone because there’s absolutely no one for her. Momina, despite being tired has not given up and what’s the best aspect of her personality is that all the fame and success that she has achieved does not mean anything to her because it was not what she dreamt of.
Shamsa (Thora Sa Haq)
Yes, this drama named Thora Sa Haq also has one such character who has surprisingly made it to this list and it happens to be the character of Seher’s hometown neighbour Shamsa. What’s best about her character is that she has stood for the right and despite facing objection from her own good for nothing husband and daughter, she stayed firm on her decision of supporting Seher. One of her reasons for being nice to an orphan like Seher was heart-warming that because she wanted good to come her daughter’s way, she was doing the favor of someone else’s daughter Seher too. Usually in such a setting, it is hard to find such characters who can differentiate between right and wrong and go to any lengths to do right by someone.
Nagina (Deewar e Shab)
A character of a single mother who never got the acknowledgment of her mother and spent her entire life filling the shoes of her dead sister who was idealized by her mother, Nagina’s journey has never been easy. Despite being someone who suffered from low self-esteem and saw herself unworthy, she succeeded in being a provider for her entire family for years. Nagina put everyone above her and completely forgot about herself because she knew that she was the only one who could bear the responsibility and the burdens of her family. Nagina never complained, however when things got too overwhelming for her, she always channeled out her frustrations by going around taunting and teasing her frenemies, as well as flaunting her successes and blessings in front of them. It showed her lighthearted approach towards life when things got tougher and also showed that she didn’t mind being a child at heart sometimes.
Hashir (Jo Tu Chahay)
In a typical drama which is all about mohallay wala cousins ka love, as well as characters which are either spineless or so full of themselves, Hashir is the only sane character who stands out and for all the good reasons. Hashir’s character is sorted, mature and far-sighted. He knows how to differentiate between right and wrong, therefore this is what he tries to preach to others as well.
Nageen (Deewangi)
Deewangi is basically a Pakistani version of Korean drama, which is all about a filthy rich young businessman and a girl from humble background who believes in herself and does not look for shortcuts to make her life easy. Deewangi is a light-hearted, feel-good kind of drama which definitely is entertaining. The character of Nageen is a breath of fresh air too because in such an era where the drama buffs are bombarded with freeloader sort of characters and damsel in distresses, Nageen is self-sufficient, she doesn’t shy away from standing up for the right and also doesn’t mind voicing her opinions despite the pressures that she is faced with. Although this drama is very much similar to a lot of Korean dramas that are based on a similar theme, can we have more such female leads in our dramas please?
Amaanullah (Ye Dil Mera)
It is a layered character which has been translated on screen with the help of a measured acting. Amaanullah’s character definitely has ulterior motives, however the way the writer Farhat Ishtiyaq has written it and explained his story makes it an interesting character to explore and get to know about. Some parts of Amaan’s personality are definitely problematic but this is what makes him more interesting because he has a lot to offer. He is getting acquainted with the idea of love, which was never in his plan of action, however it brings out his vulnerable side. The focus on bringing down the one who wronged him and took his entire family away from him also gives his character that extra edge which makes you root for him!
Salar (Deewar e Shab)
Salar’s character from Deewar e Shab is also quite interesting because he is a man of his words, he is a man of principles and knows how to fulfill his promises against all odds. It is always refreshing to see such characters in our dramas who are so young and are very much sorted to not only fend for themselves but also do right by the people that surround them.
Shanzay (Ghalti)
Although the character of Shanzay has not been given much coverage in the drama but as much as we have come across, she definitely turns out to be the best character from the lot, which is either filled with super negative nancies or damsels in distress. Shanzay is a career oriented girl who does not believe in giving the charge of her life to anyone. She believes in making her rules and following them. Shanzay also can not stand the idea of someone being mistreated and doesn’t bother if it is going to cost her anything because she knows that by the end of the day her conscience will be clear. We are definitely looking forward to how the journey of Shanzay will unravel in the upcoming episodes of Ghalti.
This concludes the list of 15 best characters that are seen in the dramas that are currently on air. There are a lot more characters from popular dramas like Ehd e Wafa and Alif who stand out and all the right reasons. Which one of these characters are your favorite? Feel free to share your opinions in the comment section below.

Uf! What a beautiful episode of Alif. There’s so much running through my mind right now. This episode, like so many previous episodes, has left me speechless but there’s so much to talk about. It is worth noticing how after so many tranquil episodes, this one was happening & covered so many emotions, similarly the preview also suggests more action & progress in the story. Alif is a masterpiece & every single episode proves it again & again.
The Feelings:
Momina was experiencing falling in love once again. She was finding solace in her thoughts & feelings that she was having towards Momin. She was learning more about him as the days passed by & understood that she was wrong in judging him. Momin that Momina was now coming across had become a humbled human being who was in touch with his emotions & didn’t know anything else. Momina was touched by this change & emotional transition of Momin but unfortunately, her happiness was short-lived (for now). The most beautiful aspect of their relationship is that Momina knows a lot more about Momin than he is aware of, this is the reason she sees him differently & more than anything, she feels a lot for him because she knows what he has been through & how harsh life has been towards him.
The scene where the team came together to finalize the theme song of the movie was refreshing & showed the creative process of how ideas are executed for any given project. Momina was touched by Momin’s idea of Alif, however, she didn’t know that it was Abdul Ala’s who had taught that to his grandson. The same Abdul Ala that she has utmost respect for. The most intense scene of this episode was Momina trying to alter Qalb e Momin’s perspective about Husn e Jahan. She made it sound like this is what character of her movie ‘might have’ done in order to provide for her child, but the truth was, she was trying to show Momin the more humane side of his mother that he was unaware of. All those dialogues which glorified Husn e Jahan’s role as a mother were beautifully written. It was interesting to see how Momin was left speechless & he could feel that everything Momina was saying made a lot of sense.
Mother Son Bond:
I love the fact that they keep on bringing back a scene or two from the past which showcases the beautiful mother-son relationship of young Momin & Husn e Jahan. It always warms up the heart & gives some sort of relief that Momin has at least some beautiful memories of his mother. The way she was always there for him, the way she took care of him, had meaningful conversations with her curious child, it is always heart-warming. This scene also highlighted an important aspect of Husn e Jahan’s approach towards her relationship with Taha. She used to keep things from him, little or big, not because she was dishonest or a liar, but purely because she didn’t want to bother her husband who she already knew was dealing with a lot emotionally. This was Husn e Jahan’s attempt of saving her husband from troubles as much as she could & guess what, this selflessness cost her their relationship because all this while, Taha failed to understand Husn e Jahan’s selflessness in her white lies. With each passing episode, I feel more for this beautiful character of Husn e Jahan & it makes my heart ache because she was misunderstood by all those people who she loved with all her heart!
The Heartbreak:
Qalb e Momin got some clarity in his thoughts, he was also forced to see the other side of the coin & what’s interesting was that he started paying heed to whatever Momina said because he could actually see that given his tender age, he could’ve misjudged the situation that his mother was faced with. He wanted to talk & because he was already not in the right frame of mind, he misjudged Daood & Momina’s friendship as well. Oh well, I kind of liked how Momin showed the signs of jealousy, because it depicted how he had fallen for Momina & felt distrubed at the thought of she being involved with someone else. Hamza Ali Abbasi elaborated those emotions phenomenally & all this while, as intense as the scene was, I kind of giggled because I could see he was being jealous. Anyways, coming back to the intensity of the scene, when Momina slapped him hard & said ‘tumne har aik ko Husn e Jahan samajh rakha hai’, although they later explained why Momina uttered those words, but right then & there, I could totally understand that Momina wasn’t judging Husn e Jahan, in fact she was highlighting the fact that Qalb e Momin is wrong in his approach of painting every woman’s character with the same brush. Momina knows that he has misjudged Husn e Jahan, this is why she knew that he was misjudging her too.
Momina was heart broken, because she has fallen in love with Momin & she was also hurt by the fact that Momin didn’t think twice before drawing a wrong impression of her & Daood. It also goes to show how absorbed Momin has been all his life that he doesn’t even know much about his employees or his assistants, like the fact that Daood is committed already & he is just a very good friend of Momina. However, Momina did what she deemed right but I am glad that she asked this question from her father because it gave her the clarity about Momin’s thought process. It isn’t his fault. He grew up thinking his mother cheated on his father, therefore it isn’t his fault to immediately think on similar lines about anyone. Once again, it will take for Momin to change his perception about people that he is surrounded with. I am glad Sultan’s answer showed Momina the other side of the picture. A random thought though, when Momina entered her house, all I could think of was how taxing & difficult it must be for her to walk into this space after a long & emotional day, because she knows that she is coming home to two people who are so engulfed in their miseries that they are probably incapacitated to put her heart to ease. I feel for her so much!
Alif Basss:
This episode was beautifulllll, it made me say ‘hayeee’ so many times. I love the fact that although I have not read the novel, what I always get to hear from all the lovely commenters is how this is exactly what was written in the novel that the drama-viewers are being able to pick up while watching the episode. It goes to show the vision & the clarity with which Haseeb Hassan has directed this drama. Sajal Aly & Hamza Ali Abbasi should take a bow for their power packed & phenomenal performances & for creating such a beautiful chemistry on-screen as Momin & Momina. Also, props to Hamza Ali Abbasi for bearing the slap & also to Sajal for making it so real. I am sure it must’ve hurt but then this is what sets Alif apart because it brings the factor of realism in its portrayal & execution. I think I am running out of words now, therefore, please share your thoughts about this hayeee wali episode of Alif.

People were waiting for their projects and when they finally decided to make a comeback, the viewers were beyond impressed by them. Some of these actors have been really choosy which makes it even more important that they choose their projects wisely. Others appear on screen often enough but they made sure that they made their presence felt in most of the dramas they worked in. These are the actors who breathed new life in their careers after making comebacks on television.
Here is the list of those Pakistani actors who made the best comebacks on television.
Humayun Saeed
Humayun Saeed is not just an actor but also a producer. He is the man behind some of the biggest films in Pakistan. When Humayun Saeed gave Pakistani cinema one hit film after the other, his fans were not sure if they will ever see him on television again. Humayun Saeed decided to make a comeback with drama serial Dillagi. This much awaited comeback of an actor who was already quite popular proved to be a move which gave him even more popularity. Humayun Saeed being the intelligent man he is, made sure that he cashed in on Dillagi’s popularity by making a film Punjab Nahi Jaungi right after Dillagi went on air.
Humayun Saeed played Mohid’s character in drama serial Dillagi. This character was loved by the viewers just as much as Humayun Saeed’s performance. Humayun Saeed chose the perfect script and drama to make this comeback. It won’t be wrong to say that Dillagi gave Humayun Saeed a newfound recognition. After that Humayun Saeed chose to be a part of another hit drama serial Mere Pass Tum Ho. The great thing about both these projects was that Humayun Saeed’s performance was the best thing about them. Humayun Saeed has only appeared in dramas twice in the past 4 years or so yet the projects he chose to be a part of were so good that they added to his popularity. He surely know how to keep the viewers glued to their television screens and looking forward to his next appearance.
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi’s star power is unmatched since he only has a handful of dramas to his credit yet every time he appears on television, it is always something new. After Pyare Afzal, Hamza’s fans had huge expectations from him but Mann Mayal wasn’t as impressive as his initial hit. Even then people watched Mann Mayal for Hamza Ali Abbasi and the drama was a hit. After Mann Mayal Hamza Ali Abbasi took his time taking up the next project. This was going to be the biggest project Hamza had worked in after Pyare Afzal and later on it was revealed that it might also be his last project as an actor.
Hamza Ali Abbasi made a brilliant comeback to television with drama serial Alif. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s journey in the drama and the theme of the drama made it an instant hit. Mehwish Hayat
Mehwish Hayat is another one of those actresses who switched from dramas to films and that is when she stopped appearing on television. Finally when she decided to make a comeback on television, the message was loud and clear, Mehwish Hayat was not going to settle for anything less than perfect! Dillagi was the perfect drama to make a comeback with since the character Mehwish played in it was different. Her acting was also loved by the viewers.
Mehwish Hayat’s character Anmol in Dillagi was headstrong and impulsive. Mehwish Hayat played a role Pakistani actresses rarely play in dramas. Her performance kept the viewers hooked to their television screens. Mehwish Hayat is also being quite choosy as she has not been part of any other drama since Dillagi. Her fans are waiting for another amazing comeback from her. They are sure that whenever Mehwish Hayat decides to be part of any drama, it would be worth watching.
Ayeza Khan
Ayeza Khan disappeared from television after getting married. Many people speculated that perhaps she will leave showbiz. This was right after Pyare Afzal aired, a drama which was incredibly popular among the masses. No one knew that the actual reason for this break was that Ayeza Khan wanted to start her family before making a comeback. After the birth of her daughter, Ayeza Khan lost weight and looked better than ever. She made a comeback with drama serial Tum Kon Piya and was then seen in dramas like Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hei, Mere Pass Tum Ho and Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua.
Ayeza Khan was definitely back with a bang! All the dramas Ayeza Khan has played the lead in ever since her comeback have been really popular. Ayeza Khan has been seen in commercials, talk shows and dramas. Even though she has done plenty of dramas which were not up to the mark but she has also been part of some great projects.
