Another cross cultural marriage has made it to the news channels. This time too it is yet another American girl who came to Lahore, Pakistan to marry the love of her life. 19 years old Maria Angela and 23 years old Mohsin from Lahore met on social media. They used to chat first and then started talking on the phone. When Mohsin proposed to Maria, she said yes instantly. She flew to Pakistan to get married to the love of her life.
This was a traditional Pakistani marriage in which Maria wore a red dress and looked like a traditional bride from every angle. The smiles on their faces show that these two love birds are very happy with their decision. The people commenting on social media however once again had so much to say about this marriage. This time also many people said that the boy got married to this woman for US visa. Some people went as far as declaring these girls who are coming to Pakistan to get married to the local boys, agents! There were other people who felt that the boy was very lucky to have found the love of his life. There were also those who wondered how this boy who could hardly converse in English, communicate with this girl.
We have been seeing Arisha Razi for very long on television. Her sitcom with Ahmed Ali Butt on Hum TV was a big hit. We hadn’t really gotten enough of Arisha that her older sister arrived. Mostly what happens is that the older siblings start working before but here it was different. Sara didn’t enter the scene until Arisha made a name for her as a child artist. Just when Sara appeared people started guessing that she could be Arisha’s sister as they look very similar and that was the case. Sara happened to be Arisha’s sister and that an elder one.

Earlier we had reported that Noman Masood had celebrated his wedding anniversary with wife Samreen Noman with a star studded bash where many couples from the industry were seen. Well one gorgeous woman we spotted was Mariam Mirza. She happened to attend the event with her husband and looked beautiful in her black outfit.
These two episodes focused on the increasing helplessness of the characters. We know how Meeru’s parents were forced to leave her at Faiza’s house to save their honour and dignity but things still did not go as they wanted to. Tahwaar came to know that Meeru was in the city now and misused the whole situation and traped Raju in the case of selling his own daughter. Raju was punished by the panchaiyat and was beaten near to death. This is a common tradition in the rural areas of Pakistan where rural courts can take one’s life or even order more heinous punishments without any valid reasons. Baandi is hitting hard on this subject and showing how these waderas exploit poor people and rule over their generations.
Another face of a Baandi is represented by Rameen. Since the start her character’s plight and Faiza’s reaction over it was very vague. One second it seemed like Faiza is throwing her in hell just because of her greed but the mystery is solved now. Faiza is not her Rameen’s real mother and technically everything that Faiza has belongs to Rameen as it was her mother’s. This makes it easy for Faiza to throw her into the dungeons and lock them without even glancing back. Kamran Jilani has played a perfect evil character. You hate him when he comes on screen or looks at Rameen. The way Rameen’s father has acted though towards the situation is hateable. He is the one even greedier than Faiza as he is Rameen’s real father and should try to show a bit of sympathy at least but Shahnawaz is the one dying for more money.
Wali is still in a haze. He is trying to make things right in his sister’s life and on the other hand, is falling for Meeru. Faiza is still unaware of the situation with Meeru and Wali and Babu Bhai is the one helping him. The way he asked him that does he even know what he is doing showed that Babu Bhai really cares for Meeru and was trying to save her from even more cruelty.
Baandi is doing a really good job showing the true face of society and the plight people are facing due to waderas in the rural areas and white collar criminals like Faiza in the cities!
Aamir Liaquat’s second wife Syeda Tuba Amir is not as well-known as her husband. Aamir Liaquat just shook the whole social media when the news of his second marriage broke out. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Episode 3 Story Review- Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is turning out to be an exceptional serial which transports you in its beautiful world which is reality-stricken yet magical in its own special way. The unusual yet strikingly appealing main protagonists, their stories, their fascinating personalities and the faultless direction as well as performances which are amazingly powerful make it one of the most promising dramas of recent times. 3 episodes of this drama have gone on air so far and every episode has been more intense and engaging than the previous one.
Bhola and Noori
Bhola’s scenes were the highlight of this episode as well. The way this character has been written and the manner in which Imran Ashraf has nailed it makes it an absolute delight to watch Bhola’s scenes. Although, Bhola’s bholapan as well as his naughtiness makes you laugh, it is also upsetting watching him being beaten by everyone. Bhola and Noori’s scene at the circus was shot beautifully. I was looking forward to watching these two together in more scenes but they went their separate ways after this scenes. Apparently Bhola runs away from home to meet Mumtaz Begum no matter where she is. Mumtaz Begum and the circus is an escape for Bhola who probably understands too well that he does not fit in anywhere else. Even though no one really understands Bhola and his mother is clearly sick and tired of him running away from home but so far we have seen a very candid side of Bhola. His remarks about his mother in the previous episode however showed that even though he is not like all the other people around him but he feels things the same way everyone else does. He is also observant and has a good memory because after being forced to bathe today, Bhola insisted that Noori should shake hands with him since he was “clean”. It is impossible not to fall in love with this character because it is so pure. Bhola is like a naughty child who is not scared of anything in the world. Noori and Bhola have one thing in common – they have yet to find out where they belong and they are both fearless. They are both constantly running away from their homes, while Noori is doing something productive when she is away from home, for Bhola it is only an escape.
Noori Is In Love!
Noori’s dankay ki chot pe confession of love was absolutely delightful to watch. Her reaction after she found out that she was in love made her character even more likable. It also showed a very different side of her character. This girl who held her self-respect and dignity very dear went back to Sahir’s shop to see him even after he told her off. This basically showed that Noori is not the kind of girl who would let her ego stand in the way of her feelings. She is also intelligent enough to know that Sahir loves her but he is afraid to admit it. Sahir’s reaction was surprising as well, he is clearly fascinated by Noori and seems to be falling for her but either he is married or his circumstances will never allow him to marry her therefore he does not want to give her false hope. This is the first time that Noori has fallen in love but even then she made sure that she was certain about her feelings before she went and confessed her love. Iqra Aziz is finally playing a character which offers a lot of room for performance and she has simply given this character her best. Her eyes reflect Noori’s determination, the curiosity and her worries. I love Syed Jibran’s look for this character and his performance is always natural.
Shoka Is A Ticking Bomb
Shoka loves Noori’s strong headed personality and every time she rejects him, he wants to make her his wife even more desperately. He is surely someone who will do whatever it takes to get his way and Noori’s parents are greedy enough to let him have his way if he pays them enough. Noor-ul-Hassan always gives an outstanding performance no matter what role he is playing. He nails both negative and positive characters effortlessly. His performance in this play too is superb.
Award-Winning Performances
This drama has some of the best performances we have seen in recent times. Bhola in particular is an exceptionally difficult role to translate on screen yet Imran Ashraf makes it look almost effortless. Although, Iqra Aziz’s performance has been faultless too but I find myself looking forward to Bhola’s scenes and he never disappoints.
Overall Impression
This episode was picture perfect in every way. Every scene was written and shot beautifully. The amazing team of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi has given the viewers quite a few unforgettable moments in these 3 weeks. It was the kind of episode you want to watch over and over again. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is a must-watch play which should not be missed.

One couple that has definitely gone through pacific sized ups and down in their relationship are boxer Amir Khan and his wife, the Instagram model Faryal Makhdoom. Amir and Faryal finally reconciled after a huge fight when Faryal was expecting a baby. The Sharif Family has been going through quite a tough time for the past year or so. They got a huge blow politically when the head of the family, the ex-prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was de-seated. Then both father and daughter went through trial and were arrested. Between all this political crisis, the biggest set back came when the matriarch of the Sharif family Begum Kulsoom Nawaz went seriously ill. She was admitted to the hospital where she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
The former first lady though responded to the treatment initially but did not survive and dies in London due to extreme illness. Junaid Safdar, the only son of Maryam Nawaz Sharif loved his grandmother a lot. In a recent gathering, he recited a Sufiyana Kalam and dedicated it to his late grandmother. Aangan is the most anticipated drama of the season. People were waiting for its first look since the day the cast was announced. Aangan is a historical drama based on the pre-partition era and the cast includes names like Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Mawra Hocane, Ahsan Khan, Sonya Hussyn, Shehroze Sabzwari, Hira Mani and Abid Ali among others. Ahsan Khan and Sonya Hussyn’s teaser for Aangan is out and the couple is giving us major Devdas vibes. Sonya is the Paro of course with all the obsession for her Dev Ahsan Khan and the story of the injury on her hand is the same as that of Paro’s from Devdas. Mohib Mirza is an actor who works on his own terms and according to him it’s the same case with his personal life. He’s married to Aaminah Sheikh is at the peak of her career. She lead Cake, Pakistan’s official submission to the academy awards, and won accolades for her wonderful performance. Now, that Mohib is equally talented and has proved it time and again then what’s stopping him from being at top. Mohib revealed it all in his interview to Galaxy Lollywood.
On his selection of films he said, ” Bachana fared well while TMLS struggled to get its act right with the audience. The audience shouldn’t be blamed for disliking a film. Personally I felt, TMLS had a good script but something went intrinsically wrong with the technical support i.e. colour grading and sound until the final screening. Lack of promotions was also a cause for its debacle. As for Arth, it was completely Shaan’s visualization from start to finish. As an actor, I surrendered myself to him and completely trusted his vision. Each film has its own destiny, maybe the hype around the film was missing or it wasn’t the right time to release it. As an industry, we are still in the experimenting zone and it is really unfair to label a film a hit or a flop. It’s a tough phase for the actors, distributors and filmmakers.”
On why does he take so long to appear on Tv, he replied, “I took my time to wait for a good script instead of grabbing just any project, just to stay relevant. I got a lot of lead role offers these past few offers but the characters just didn’t appeal to me. The plots were getting repetitive and there was nothing new. I truly believe that an actor should and must evolve with time and the offers I was getting didn’t align with that. Deedan, on the other hand, has given me an opportunity to prove my versatility. I have worked really hard on it and have broken quite a few stereotypes through it. I couldn’t have asked for a better comeback project.”
Shahid Afridi’s video from a press conference was going viral for all the wrong reasons. He’s known for his outspoken nature but every time he rubs people the wrong way. In the video on being asked about Kashmir he responds, “I say Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir. Don’t give it to India either. Let Kashmir be independent. At least humanity will be alive. His video became viral in no time and people responded to his statements. Azad Jammu Kashmir went on to ask Afridi to refrain from talking about such sensitive issues. While, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned Shahid Afridi’s statement on Kashmir being ‘celebrated in sections of the Indian media’, underlining that the former Pakistan cricketer clearly supported freedom for Kashmir and criticized human rights violations.

Just when you think people are over Coke Studio’s Ko Ko Korina debacle, someone shows up and makes us recall all the pain we felt listening to the track. Ahad Raza Mir’s much awaited Coke Studio debut proved to be a bigger disaster than Chain Aye Na. From politicians to general public everyone bashed the singers and the platform for ruining a classic. Although, Coke Studio had not come up with any clarification, the singers Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan defended their act multiple times.
Coke Studio fiasco made the Sindhi singer Jigar Jalal to come up with his own version of the song. In what is possibly the first video of the series titled Goth Studio, Jalal begins by saying, “Agar Ahad aur Momina Ko Ko Korina gaa sakte hain to Jigar Jalal kyun nahi?” (If Ahad and Momina can sing Ko Ko Korina, why can’t Jigar Jalal?)
This catchy tune starts with the singers original lyrics, “Jungle me dhoonda, ke sheharon me dhoonda, magar mujh ko Ko Ko Korina kahin nahi mili,” (I looked for Ko Ko Korina in jungles and cities but couldn’t find her anywhere). Well, honestly, this rendition may not have been made on the scale as big as Coke Studio’s, it surely sounds better than what Ahad Raza Mir sang.
Earlier we reported that Yasir Nawaz had finalised Neelam Munir and Sami Khan for his third feature film Wrong No.2. Yasir was initially working on a murders mystery but he chose to go for the sequel of his first film which is again going to be a comedy. While, Sami was finalized as the leading man, it was the female lead that was a mystery. But later it was revealed that Neelam who is currently working opposite Yasir Nawaz, the director, in Dil Mom Ka Diya.
Sana Fakhar , Nayar Aijaz, Javed Sheikh and Mehmood Aslam have also joined the cast and what’s surprising is that they are currently shooting in Hyderabad. Sami, Mehmood and Sana are shooting for their scenes in the city while the rest may join them soon.
Director Yasir Nawaz is also playing a character in the film. On choosing to do the film, the director said, “I’m back at comedy because that’s what sells. The script for Wrong No. 2 will be written by Danish Nawaz while I have written the screenplay. Dialogues will be by Ahmed Hassan.” We’ll get to see the film next year as it has just started shooting for the first spell. We wish the team best of luck.
