Pakistan bans dowry, in the historic decision, Pakistan has become the first Muslim country to make it illegal for a man to take dowry.

In the latest development by the Minister of Religious Affairs of Pakistan has decided to ban the tradition of Dowry, in which men (groom) and his family asks for a dowry and then they put it on display. The details of gifts and dowry given to the bride to be entered into the Nikkah-Nama.

According to the new law, the allowed dowry will be just clothes (for the bride only) and bed sheets only. Before this law, the Groom and their families used to request luxuries in dowry such as Furniture, Car, Sofa Set, etc.

This new law will give relief of sigh for the girl and her family, by just giving simple clothes and few bed sheets as per sunnah from now on.

Finally, the Government of Pakistan has implemented a new law. According to the bill presented, the maximum amount to be given to Bride as her Dowry according to Shariah will be no more than 4 Tola Gold.

In the case of Divorce, the Groom’s side has to return all the gifts and dowry to the girl. This law has been imposed all over Pakistan from KP, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh. The government is now ensuring the full implementation of this law.

The step is praised by Pakistanis and Muslims all around the world as the bill will give ease to Bride’s side and make marriages easier for the parents.

The Pakistan Fashion Week takes place twice in a year. The top designers of Pakistan showcase their collection on the event. This season’s Winter Festive #FPW2016  was shown on the ramp for three days. Among the entire lot the few famous and well established designers include HSY, Amir Adnan and Maheen Karim who opened fashion week. After its experiment with National Anthem, Coke Studio received a lot of rebuke for playing with something that didn’t need their modification. But with Allahu Akbar, the tides have turned for the season. People are generally giving good comments about the music and composition, especially the singing duo.

It seems that Coke Studio has kicked off on a good note. But, how many hits and misses come that remains to be seen.

Bin Roye Ansoo is a novel written by the famous writer Farhat Ishtiaq. The news that this novel will be given the shape of a drama serial came out soon after Hamsafar went off air. Fans of Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan were ecstatic to hear the news that this lovable on-screen couple will be seen together in Bin Roye Ansoo but after a while the news came that Fawad Khan had been replaced by Hamayun Saeed. Some of the fans were disappointed but many people who have read the novel thought that Hamayun Saeed suited the character more because of the difference of age between the leading couple.

It has been years that fans have been waiting for the first look of Bin Royee Ansoo which is being shown as a film now and is titled “Bin Roye” only, the word “Ansoo” has been removed from the title. The film is produced by MD Productions and it has been directed by Haissam Hussain.

Apart from Mahira and Hamayun, the leading cast will consist of Armeena Rana Khan and Zeba Bakhtiar. The producers have not shown much relating to the film yet except this one poster. Now the question is that whether Bin Roye will only be made as a film or there is a drama serial in the offering too?

Recently, Lux unveiled the first ever celebrity calendar of Pakistan amidst some of the biggest celebrities of Pakistan at the Lahore Grande, with a lavish and star-studded launch. The calendar, which is the first ever celebrity calendar of Pakistan, was eagerly being awaited since a while now. It proved to be a visual treat for guests when it was finally unveiled at the event. All of them praised the beautiful shots captured in it.

The Lux calendar is shaped like a perfume bottle to signify the brands commitment to luxury fragrances in their products. The four-page spread is a salute to a woman’s beauty and Lux’s concept that no one can take their eyes off of a true Lux woman.

Lux pays tribute to the thriving TV industry by featuring actors Mehwish Hayat and Fahad Mustafa as part of its calendar shoot. The actors pose in a world of floral splendour, surrounded by a riot of flowers, to bring alive the fragrant identity of the brand.

Along with the TV fraternity, Lux also pays homage to the fashion industry that has helped the brand create its image. Models Rabia Butt and Emaad Irfani also pose for the calendar, but in a more cosmopolitan setting. Emaad Irfani has previously been seen in the Lux TV commercial and Lux decided to approach him again for its calendar shoot. “Being featured in a Lux campaign for the second time, I can officially call myself the Lux boy. Working for Lux means that you are one of the most prominent faces in Pakistan.” says Irfani.

The beautiful photoshoot has been done splendidly by Guddu and Shaani, a big name in itself. The breathtaking dresses and suits are designed by the established designer Kamiar Rokni who designed it exclusively for the calendar shoot. All the designer wear was made keeping in mind its setting and looked a class apart!

“The basic point of the calendar is to add a touch of glamour to life. For this calendar, we used stars from both TV and the fashion industry as we believe these are two of the biggest industries which cannot be ignored,” says Enshe, Brand Manager Lux. “The fragrance value of Lux has been visualized through these pictures.”

Celebrities from all fields graced the launch with their presence. Some of the celebrities spotted at the event were HSY, Khawar Riaz, Emmad Irfani, Kamiar Rokni, Fahad Hussayn, Yousaf Salahuddin, Babloo, Kuki, Amanat Ali, Nooray Bhatty, Mohsin Ali, Xile Huma, Amanat Ali, Natasha Saigol and Goher Mumtaz.

The launch was definitely a night to remember right down from the décor to the food. The event reflected the calendar photo shoot itself with its floral and cosmopolitan look, yet there was a unique and soothing touch to it. The live orchestra added the final touch to the event.

The grand launch featured the exclusive calendar in a display resembling an art gallery. There was an exclusive live photo booth where pictures were taken of all guests and then developed and framed to be gifted to them, serving as a souvenir to remind them of the glamorous night they attended.

Tamasha is the new reality show which is doing rounds on media and social media because of its entertainment value and the engaging content. The show has been daily airing on Ary Digital, the super entertaining show’s idea is derived from the internationally hit show Big Brother. The show follows the same format as Big Brother. In the show, the participants stay in a one house for six weeks. In the house, they are compelled to abide by all the rules and regulations . Actor Adnan Siddiqui is hosting the show. Well, the participants have so far become a family and now the fights and grudges have also been started.

On the day fourth, all the contestants fought with each other, when they could not prepare the dinner in time which resulted in late cleaning and kitchen curfew. When the host visited, he came to know that the dinner and dishwashing are still pending at the late hours of night, he forbade everyone from dinner and left the house.

Well, after the kitchen curfew, the teams started fighting with each other, Mareeha Safdar and Humaira Ashghar started fighting and they also shouted on each other. Humaira said Mareeha didn’t cook in time and that’s why they got late, Mareeha didn’t admit her mistake. To this, Maira scolded them and said that you guys should keep everyone at alarm when it comes to completing house chores in time. They were all angrily shouting at each other. Project Ghazi is a film that shook the cinegoers back in 2017 when the teasers first came out. The film looked something that we have not witnessed in Pakistani cinemas. It was the first superhuman movie created in Pakistan. The film, however, got postponed on the night of the premiere since the dubbing was not done and the film was basically incomplete in the technical department.

The film has a huge cast with names as Humayun Saeed, Shehryar Munawar Siddiqui and Syra Shehroze in the lead roles while Adnan Jaffar is playing the villain Kattan in the film. After such a huge delay, Project Ghazi is all set to hit the theatres this March. The film will be releasing o the 22nd of March. The final trailer has dropped and whatever difficulties the film has gone through, it looks good. Check it out:

After the terrific performance of the greens in the semifinals, they are all set to play the final of ICC Champions Trophy. The nail-biting match will be held against India and the final battle will decide the winner of the champion’s trophy.

The on-going battle between Pakistan and India is no match for the upcoming battle in the cricket ground which will declare the clear winner. The fans from both the countries have their hopes high. The players from both the countries are preparing well for the match. The fast bowler Hassan Ali from Pakistan stated that he wants to celebrate the final win with zeal. Such confidence will be a much needed factor that will take us closer to winning. The team is also confident of Muhammad Amir’s full recovery before the match.

The final battle will begin tomorrow at 2:30 pm which will decide who will be blued and who will be greened. Both the teams are all set to strike while their supporters chant in their support.

The Turkish show Ertugrul has not exclusively been a hit in Pakistan, also the Urdu dubbed version has earned record breaking views on YouTube.

Photographer Jiah Ali, who is based in Islamabad, captured a photo of 18-year-old Arshad Khan AKA Chaiwala working at a bazaar in the Pakistani capital. The attractive Pakistani tea vendor became famous overnight and was offered a modeling contract.

The handsome, blue-eyed Chaiwala was recently spotted at Nabila’s Salon for a makeover for one of his upcoming projects.

There have been numerous actors in the history of Pakistan’s entertainment industry who have made the leap to and from the silver screen to television. All of these comedians have had their own unique style that they brought forward in their performances. One of these uniquely talented comedians was Mirza Shahi.

Having started his career during the later part of 1960s, when he starred as a comedian in a number of movies made in then-East Pakistan. One of his most famous movies has been ‘Chakori’, released in the year 1967, which also marked the debut of veteran film actor Nadeem.

After he made his way to Pakistan Television Karachi Center, he was cast in a number of plays that went on to become very popular. Most notable among these was ‘Nadaniyan’ on Geo TV, which stars Yasir Nawaz Baloch, Nida Yasir and Danish Nawaz. The drama serial received immense popularity.

From last few Days Mirza Shahi was in a serious condition due to Corona Virus and was hospitalized. Today Mirza Shahi lost his life. It is a great loss for our industry today, we have lost a talented comedian and actor today.

May his soul rest in peace, Ameen.

Khaani is a name that needs no introduction now. It has been viral since its first episode and even before that the hype was effectively built. So Khaani turned out to be really successful. It was a story of how love changes a person and the journey of a person from “Ishq Majazi” to “Ishq e Haqiqi”. Sana Javed and Feroz Khan played the lead in this one and their chemistry led them to become one of the most favorite on screen couples. They did a telefilm after Khaani and will soon hit our screens one more time with their Rom-Com Romeo Weds Heer.

Mohsin Abbas Haider,another fabulous actor and singer who has marked his name due to his brilliant acting and singing skills. He started off as a VJ, has done theatre, brilliant drama serials especially Muqabil, Meeras and Meri Guriya and has done his film debut with Na Maloom Afraad. Mohsin on a recent interview said that he was offered Khaani first but he has not taken it at that time.

He further added that he doesn’t and can’t, for that matter, say no to a project but when he does, it’s because of the timings and commitments that he has already made. Mohsin said no due to the obligations he already had on his plate. I wonder how Khaani would have turned out if it were Mohsin opposite Sana.

Fahad Salahuddin who is also known as Fahad Mustafa is one of the finest actors of the Pakistani drama and film industry. He is a great host as well and is also loved for his on-spot and flawless hosting in Jeeto Pakistan. By profession, Fahad is a pharmacist but for the love of acting that he also inherited from his father, he chose to become an actor.

BCW’s Spring and Summer edition will start on March 30th. The three day event will take place in Karachi and designers like Amir Adnan, Fahad Hussayn and HSY will be featured.

Moving on to a very big fashion event of the industry, the PFDC and Sunsilk Fashion Week will be in Lahore from 13th April to 16th April and will feature all the top notch designers.

Lux Style Awards will be held next in Karachi on the 19th of April. The event will be star studded and we can’t wait to see who wins what.

Lastly, HUM awards will most probably be held on 29th April, however, the date is not confirmed yet. The award show has been doing pretty well since it started.

Ali Zafar is one of the most famous singer in Pakistan’s musical industry. He is famous not only in the country but also around the globe. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in Pakistan. They are visiting different places yesterday, the royal highnesses were given a reception at the Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad hosted by the British High Commissioner of Pakistan Thomas Drew.

Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Kate Middleton started off their third day in Pakistan by visiting Chitral. The couple will be visiting tourist spots to know more about Pakistani traditions and culture.

William and Kate were given a book commemorating Princess Diana’s 1991 visit. The residents also gifted an embroidered coat to Prince William and a shawl to Kate.

The locals welcomed the royal couple and entertained them by performing a traditional Kalash dance performed by the locals of Chitral.
