Junaid Jamshed was a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.
He started his career as a representative singer of the pop music group Vital Signs and gained fame.
The release of Dil Dil Pakistan in 1987 took him to the eternal heights of fame.
The songs released on the occasion of August 14 gave a new identity to the national anthems. His music album with vital signs became immensely popular.
After meeting well-known preacher and scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, Junaid Jamshed turned to religion and said goodbye to music.
In the new identity, he was seen as a well-known businessman, Naat khuwaan, scholar and TV host.
His clothing brand J. has branches all over the country. Junaid Jamshed died on December 7, 2016 in an accident of PIA Flight pk-661 from Chitral to Islamabad.
It may be recalled that the PIA flight from Chitral to Islamabad had crashed near Havelian, killing all 47 people, including five crew members.

Pakistan idol is a reality singing competition which is another segment of the Idol Franchise fashioned by Simon Fuller. The production rights for the show are acquired by Geo TV networks and the production has officially started in September 2013 when some of the prominent celebrities of Pakistan industry were chosen to be the judges of the show. Though this show has played an important role in getting back the lost TRPs of the channel, there are a few things that are noticed by the audience every time-every Friday. Here are 4 of my observations, have a look!
Wrong choice of the judges
According to some people signing, Bushra Ansari, Ali Azmat and Hadiqa Kiani as the judges of Pakistan idol is a huge mistake and therefore they are not being liked by as many people as it should have been. People think Bushra Ansari is just good at being an actress and a comedian while some think Rahat Fateh Ali Khan could have been a better substitute for Ali Azmat since he has better understanding of music and much more fan following than Hadiqa and Ali both.
Hadiqa Kiani-an overly dressed celebrity
Though she is one of the most famous pop singers of Pakistan and a great vocalist, her sense of fashion and makeup is very agreeable but it seems like she is taking it up the notch while being the judge of Pakistan idol. She is always found overly dressed and her makeup is sometimes done very horribly making her look dreadful at times. Another dishonor of her wearing illuminati earrings has been a burning topic of debate for many days.
Repetition Of Comments
When criticizing the performance of any contestant, all of the judges use same kind of words and phrases among which words like “feel”, “sur nahi tha” and “acha nibhaya” are encompassed. No different and exclusive comments makes it very hard for people to understand as to who is better and who is not and if they should give their vote to the deserving person or wait for another one to come.

Though she is a famous video jockey of Pakistan but it looks like she is failing to do her part as a backstage host Pakistan idol. She is lacking the words, the attitude which is required to fill out the factor of glamour in the show, making it less popular among audience.
So these were 4 of my observed predictions, let us now see how many of tour disagree with me on this.
“Chupke Chupke” is one of the most popular drama serials. Currently, it is airing on Hum TV; the fresh and lively dialogues with a top-notch cast is far away from typical “rona dhona”, and is surely a treat for the audience. However, there are some factors that can not be ignored while considering their negative impact on drama’s large viewership.
Let’s have a look at a few of them:
Are Ramzan plays supposed to play the role of rishta aunties?
Ramzan is the holy month of Islam, in which along with ‘ibadat’, the correction of ‘nafs’ is also crucial. Unfortunately, the Ramzan plays revolving around shadi plots are attempting to solve the mystery of who, why, when, where, how the marriage is going to happen, rather than leading the quest of identity and purpose of life. Most of these plays have nothing which can be identified as ‘Ramzan special’ except the timing!, as telecasted in Ramzan. “Chupke Chupke” is one of these Ramzan plays. There is a flood of marriages with a depiction of typical norms and behavior. Despite being a ‘Ramzan special’, there is no criticism, rather acceptance of wrong perceptions and norms, like other Ramzan plays.
Ghar damad – the reversed gender roles
The character “Miskeen” which is essayed by Ali Safina has received criticism for the controversial portrayal of ghar damad. Miskeen, who is married to “Gul”(Mira Sethi), lives in his wife’s house with his in-laws. His duty is to do all house chores and he seems to perform them wholeheartedly. However, the problem arises from the fact that the reversed gender roles are depicted as an element of insult. There are many households where women are supported by their husbands by having a helping hand from them in house chores. However, in this play, the character who is considered as useless can be seen doing the kitchen work and was often ridiculed for this task.
“Khandan ki izzat” must be measured by log kya kahen ga!
Drama serials are one of those elements which can shape the perceptions of the audience and thus influence their actions. It is due to this reason that dramas, with their humor or tragedy, have this long history of fixing society’s ills. However, “Chupke Chupke” seems to ignore this aspect, specifically when it comes to typical ideas as “khandan ki izzat”. These very keywords were frequently used to make ‘Meenu’ (Ayeza Khan) and ‘Fazi'(Osman Khalid Butt) agree for nikkah even against their wills. The idea of “khandan ki izzat” which is happened to be associated with log kya kahen ge rather than moral truths, is unfortunately promoted and approved through these scenes as there is more tension regarding the reputation of families than the future of their children.
Humor has become threatening!
The audience has witnessed a rising trend in our industry of creating humor. It is either created through indecent jokes or by stretching the boundaries of morality, where wit and intelligence is nowhere. “Chupke Chupke” being a Ramzan play has thankfully avoided the indecent jokes but could not help mocking morality and ethics as a source of humor. For instance, Gender biases, in one of the early episodes Bebe(Asma Abbas) scolded Meenu(Ayeza Khan) though in a comical way for asking her inherent share from the property, Moreover, Miskeen(Ali Safina) is also mocked for doing house chores. In addition to this, lies are also portrayed as the savior, even mature characters such as Kaneez (Tara Mahmood) casually speak a lie as if it is not a big deal,”tum apne sach ka jhanda apne paas rakho” And obviously, Meenu(Ayeza Khan) has a series of lies in order to produce humor. Normalization of unethical behaviors and stretching the boundaries of moral values in order to produce laughter is threatening for society as it further leads to acceptance and appraisal of these behaviors.
We have some very monotonous ending methods for Pakistani dramas. The twists are always the same and ghooma phira ke we always end up at the same place in every other show. Yes, most of our stories are same as well, but at least the last episode should be exciting.
The most common ways of ending a Pakistani drama are:
1. Eavesdropping:
Always at the right time! The good characters who have been pure annoying idiots from the start of the show, and easiest to fool will eavesdrop at the exact right moment. Have any of the drama makers realized how annoying this is?
Recent example is Tum mere hi rehna, where Rania (Urwa Hocane) had to leave the house because of Sumbhul’s (Kiran Haq) plan to get her hands on Rania’s husband, Numail. Sumbhul’s sister eavesdropped at the exact moment when Sumbhul was talking to herself about how she “will get Numail now”. Other than this, in Nazdikiyan Nudrat (Maria Wasti) was kicked out of the house when her husband heard her talking on the phone about how she added pills to juice and made her sautan drink it. That caused her to miscarry.
2. A lame apology:
The amount of problems our heroines experience are rectified by one simple apology. I get the point, that forgiveness is better than revenge, and I don’t mind if the victim forgives those who wronged them.
However, there are two problems. The first one is the monotonous dialogues in those scenes. Since these are dramas, and not real life, it wouldn’t hurt the hero to do something special for his woman. Sorry hi karna hai, so why not go big? A recreation of the day the couple met or preparing her favourite meal. Learn to use Google people! DIY websites offer a lot of options for this.
The second problem is the victim not protesting at all. Say SOMETHING to the other person before you forgive them! There are countless dramas whose apologetic moments left no impact on me. For example, Adhoori Aurat, Dil-e-Muzter and specially Pani Jesa Pyar.
3. The heroine HAS to leave the house:
Ek Kasak Reh Gayee, Dil-e-Muzter, Pani Jese Pyar Tum Mere Hi Rehna and so on. The heroine of each of these had to leave the house before the end of the drama. After the hero realized her worth, he went to her, said the apologetic words, and brought her back. That was obviously after he had eavesdropped on the vamp. Recent example is Khata where the heroine has left her husband’s house and will obviously be taken back by him in the last episode. Humsafar was the one where it started, and even though it is one of my most favourite dramas, I do not want every drama to have the same story or ending.
4. Dragging: It has to be a part of last episodes as well. Viewers are forced to watch long emotional scenes, which are useless, because only short and to the point scenes leave their mark.
And if there are no scenes left to drag, they will put on the title song and show the main leads thinking, walking and even breathing just so they can increase the duration of an already stretched episode.
3rd Servis Hum Awards were held in Dubai, UAE last month and now the show will also be aired within this month. An exclusive program the making of 3rd Servis Hum Awards will be aired on Sunday 10th May 2015 at 7 pm.
The award ceremony for third Hum Tv awards will be held on 9th April 2015. Unlike the previous two events held in the port city of Karachi, this year’s event will be organized in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Some foreign artists are also expected to perform in the ceremony.
Voting for viewers choice categories are already concluded on 25th March. The awards main categories are viewers choice awards, jury awards, life time achievement and special category awards.
Nominations for 3rd Hum Awards for the year 2014 are out. Like every year, there will be categories for Viewer Choice, Critics Choice, Life Time Achievement and Special Category Awards.
The nominations for Viewers Choice are mentioned here. Most of the drama related nominations are still on air. Last year especially in first half, Hum Tv disappointed viewers by airing dramas which were below par the standard it had set in previous years. However in the later half Hum Tv redeemed itself with plays like Shanakht, Digest Writer, Sadqe Tumhare

HUM Awards were held in Dubai last night. These were the 3rd Servis HUM Awards which were a result of the great success of first two such award shows which were directed towards honoring those artists who have been contributing to the drama industry in the past and the present.
According to sources the third day at PLBW was the best. The event was full of innovative designs by the creative designers and brilliance in work was exhibited on the ramp. The collection showcased at the third day was so good that even if the second day did not went well it can be ignored.
The third day designers include Nomi Ansari, Zara ShahJahan, Sonia Azhar, Republic by Umar Farooq, Muse and Ali Xeeshan.
