In his latest conversation with images Ahsan Khan talks about his upcoming short film, expected to be released in the first week of December in commemoration of Disability Day,Chashm-e-Num. “There’s no trend for short films in Pakistan,”Ahsan said to images.”They rarely get a run in cinemas, even though this is common internationally. Major filmmakers around the world make short films. In Pakistan, even feature length films don’t get a decent run in cinemas . So,I thought I should make short films and introduce the trend.”

Chashm-e-num is about 2 visually impaired people falling in love, but a web of lies awaits them.

Other than Ahsan, the film stars Jasmin Khan and Amar Khan who is a filmmaking graduate from Beacon House Nationa University and also the writer of the film. The film features a song sung by Amanat Ali.

Ahsan Khan suggested that “We should make a lot of short films and hold festivals in Pakistani cinema and sell tickets, run eight to ten short films per day.” He also talked bout the risk he has taken by putting his money on this film, but he thinks its worth taking.

Pakistani short film ‘Bench’ stars Usman Mukhtar and Rubya Chaudhry in lead roles. The short film has been nominated for the Best Short Film Category at the Independent Short Awards in L.A.

The lead actress Rubya Chaudhry took to Instagram and shared the big news with her fans and followers.

She wrote, “Bench’ has made it to the @independentshortsawards festival in L.A, as well as being nominated in the best short film category. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Pakistani short movie ‘Bench‘ is a crime drama film produced by Hasan Naeem, written by Ali Mudar and directed by Usman Mukhtar.

The director and actor, Usman Mukhtar is a rising star of Pakistan. An actor who made his stage debut in 2006, he starred in Janaan a critical and commercial success, in 2018 he starred in Parchi which opened the doors to offers on TV shows. Usman Mukhtar is making Pakistan proud of his amazing work.

Teefa In Trouble is one of the most anticipated films of the year as it will mark the debut of rock star Ali Zafar in Pakistani film industry. The film stars Maya Ali as the leading lady and Mah e Nur, Faisal Qureshi and Javed Sheikh in supporting roles. The film is shot In Poland. Now the shooting has wrapped up for Teefa and Maya Ali; the leading lady posted a message on her Instagram in which she acknowledged her team and thanked her co-stars.

Ainy Jaffri who was last seen in Balu Mahi is shooting in London for her next film Haraam. Ainy posted this on instagram after the shoot wrapped up:

Ainy termed the movie as a story of unrequited love. While talking to images she said:

“Haraam is a story of love, the unrequited kind.” She further added:

“What happens when you fall in love with a friend who can never see you as more even if they tried? As unique and painful as it may feel, it’s actually a common human experience and [also] a direct experience of the writer (who is also the director). Haraam explores themes of love, cultural diversity and religion.”

The movie is directed by Serge Rashidi Zakuani who has made two independent films under his production company Stepping Stonez before this; Haraam being his third. Ainy added:

“They are currently in post production and Haraam will be his third film. SRZ (as he’s known as) tells independent stories that give a true reflection of London and its diverse ethnic make up.”

She also gave some insight into her character:

“My character’s name is Layla. The film follows the adventures of this group of young ethnically diverse adults who work in a picture framing store. It’s Layla’s last day, her best friend Geo is in love with her but due to cultural and religious differences he is scared to open up to her about his feelings.”

Serge Rashidi Zakuani also talked to images about his film. He said:  “I wanted to showcase my admiration of and for the Muslim community, especially in this day and age where the focus is centered around elements that divide us rather than unite us.”

SRZ had some really good things to say about his experience on working with Ainy. He said: “Working with Ainy has been nothing short of amazing. From the first script read-through until her very last scene, Ainy has been incredibly focused, gracious and humble considering her growing success.” He further added: “I feel fortunate we managed to get her attached to the project and I’m super excited for audiences to watch the depth, vulnerability and honesty she brings to the role of Layla. With a beauty that transcends physical appearance, Ainy is a global rising star and I couldn’t be prouder to list her as a cast member of our film.”

Ainy shared similar thoughts on working with him: “I’ve had a great time working with the team and really looking forward to seeing the final film.”

Urwa Hocane is stepping into production with her film Tich Button. The film stars Iman Aly, Farhan Saeed, Sonya Hussyn and Feroze Khan in the lead roles. The fil is being produced under Urwa Hocane and husband Farhan Saeed’s production house Shooting Star Studios. Tich Button will mark Farhan Saeed’s debut in the Pakistani cinema and the cast looks very appealing.

The shooting for the film has started as the producer Urwa Hocane also posted the first take on her social media. Tich Button is being said to be a fun and comedy movie. It is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and will be releasing in the year 2019.

Tich Button will be released with the collaboration of the ARY Films and seems like this one is going to be a big one!

Sohai Ali Abro was cast for Adnan Sarwar’s The Motorcycle Girl and the shooting has started now. Adnan Sarwar’s Shah got a lot of critical acclaim earlier. His next The Motorcycle Girl is also a biopic. It is based on the life of Zenith Irfan, she is the first Pakistan girl to do a solo motorcycle trip in northern areas. Humayun Saeed has returned back to Pakistan after a one and half month long trip of USA. Print media was constantly reporting that Humayun is taking part in shooting of his home production film ‘Man of the Match’. On return to Pakistan Humayun has confirmed shooting of the film, but the film name is ‘Bin Roye Aansoo’ instead of ‘Man of the Match’. Also Bin Roye Aansoo is produced by Sultana Siddiqi not by Humayun Saeed.

Humayun further cleared that preparation for his home production ‘Afraatafri’ is in progress and its shooting will commence next year in Bangkok, Thailand. ‘Bin Roye Aansoo’ is a famous novel written by Farhat Ishtiaq who earlier wrote the block buster drama Humsafar. It is also adapted for a drama with same name by Hum TV. Reviewit has already reported that alongwith drama Bin Roye Aansoo will be also be released as a film and same has been now confirmed by Humayun Saeed. Dillagi will mark the comeback of Hamayun Saeed on television after four long years. There was a time when Hamayun Saeed used to work in dramas a lot but later on he got himself busy in production and was only seen in films. After a long time Hamayun Saeed feels that he has found a script which is perfect for his comeback. The script of the drama serial “Dillagi” has been written by Faiza Iftikhar and it has been directed by Nadeem Baig, the man who was behind the film Jawani Phir Nahi Aani. The drama will be produced by Six Sigma Plus.

Mehwish Hayat will be playing the lead in the play alongside Hamayun Saeed. The entire cast has been working day and night shooting for the drama. Mehwish Hayat posted a picture of herself and the director Nadeem Baig sleeping on the sets to show just how hectic the schedule was. Hamayun Saeed took the picture while they were sleeping on their seats!

We saw Asim Raza previously in the director’s seat for a feature film when Ho Mann Jahan starring Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui, Mahira Khan and Adeel Hussain was released. The director is returning this time with his next silver screen venture Paray Hutt Love. Paray Hut Love stars Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali in the lead role while Zara Noor Abbas and Ahmed Ali Butt will also be seen in prominent roles. The director Asim Raza shared the news of the shoot’s start on his Instagram. The actors in the movie also shared their excitement over the commencement of the project. Zara Noor Abbas who garnered fame with her role of Arsala in the drama Khamoshi is going to make her cinematic debut with Paray Hut Love. The actress is excited about this new beginning and shared her feelings on the start of the shoot: Ahmed Ali Butt will also be a part of the film. His JPNA2 is currently getting immense love in cinemas. Let’s see whether this time too he comes in his signature comic role or there will be a difference: Meanwhile, the leads Maya and Shehehryar are also having fun on the sets: Mahira Khan who was initially meant to be the leading lady in the film will now be seen in a special role as she could not do it due to other commitments. As per Hip, Zarrar’s final spell of shooting is about to begin from 28th February!

The final spell begins by the end of February and will be shot in Lahore, Gawadar as well as up north. The cast members which will be a part of the spell are Shaan himself, Kiran Malik, Nayyer Ejaz and Nadeem Shb.

Zarrar is an action drama film, expected to release this year. Apat from direction, Shaan has written the film and will play the lead role as well. Zarrar is also one of first Pakistani movies to land UK’s biggest studio, Pinewood, for its post production phase!

Many Pakistanis have gone to India to work in their film industry but there are very few Indian actors especially the leading ones who have worked in Pakistan or with Pakistani directors and producers. The news is that the very talented and famous Shoaib Mansoor who is well known for films like Bol and Khuda Ke Liye has offered a role to Kareena Kapoor in his next film.

Kareena Kapoor in few of her interviews already stated that she is a big fan of Shoaib Mansoor and she would like to work in Pakistan. In one of her interviews she said, “I really want to work with him. He has made some fantastic content driven films and is a wonderful filmmaker.”

According to the reports by Indian newspaper, Shoaib Mansoor did not want Kareena’s wish to go unheard so he went to India and offered a role to her in his next film. Talking to the media Kareena said, “After 15 years, I’ve done the rounds with all the Khans, and now it’s time to get out of my comfort zone.”

We are waiting to find out more about what this future project will be and how this project takes a final shape.

Shoaib Mansoor is the one who gave a new vision for Pakistani films when his film Khuda Ke Liye came out. It was a great story with exceptional direction and hit the nail on the head. His next outing Bol was also a great hit and marked the debut of superstar Mahira Khan in the industry. Shoaib Mansoor did his next film Verna with Mahira Khan which was dark and hard-hitting.

Shoaib Mansoor has been linking the titles of all his films in the form of a statement. It was Khuda Ke Liye Bol Verna before when he announced his recent adventure ABG starring Maya Ali and Emmad Irfani. Now, the title of ABG is revealed and it is Asmaan Bolay Ga. This completes the statement with Khuda Ke Liye Bol Verna Asmaan Bolay Ga.

The film is reportedly based on Operation Swift Retort that occurred on 27th February 2019. Maya Ali will be playing an Indian journalist while Emmad Irfani will play hero of that day Squadron Leader Hassan Siddiqui.

Pakistan’s famous cricketer Shobaib Malik’s wife Sania Mirza who is India’s most successful female tennis player is in talks for a biopic. Sania, in recent years won six doubles Grand Slam titles and made it to the top of the doubles rankings in 2015. The 30-year-old from Hyderabad has amassed more than $6m in career earnings.
