“After I completed the shoot, the next day I got to know that I wasn’t being casted as a main lead. It was someone else who was going to portray the main role. At that moment I could not bare Umer Sharif’s lie and in anger I bite the snake which was hanging on my neck. In the show, Shafqat Cheema shared a tragic incident happened with him on one of his movie set. While performing for the scene Saud jumped on me and both of us went into the bog. I didn’t know how to swim but Saud did, I told him to save me or I will drown. I was screaming Help me! Help me! but Saud pushed me away, went out of the water, and saved himself.

The tension between Pakistan and India finally ended with a ban on Pakistani artists. Mostly that was the most affected side in the spat. Many artists like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar who were doing really well there were banned from taking up any more projects.

The ban has been going on for quite some time now and singer Shafqat Amanat Ali has spoken about it. The singer has a huge fan following across the border and while speaking to an Indian news agency he expressed that the ban came on artists only because they are a soft target. This is what he had to say:

“Art and entertainment industry is a soft target. They know that they can’t fight back, so just ban it. It is very easy. Otherwise, there is lot of trade that is happening between India and Pakistan. If you go to the Attari-Wagah border, one can see trucks bringing goods and exchanging goods from both the sides. That import and export business is running full-fledged, If we stop that, it would lead to chaos. But they know that if they put a ban on artistes or actors or people who are related to art, they will express themselves through media or social media platforms. Nothing else.”

He also said that he misses performing in India:

“Of course, I do. If you talk to people who visited Pakistan to support their team in the last India-Pakistan match, (they will say) they went back after a very emotionally charged trip. They were given so much love. And we also received a lot of love, respect and appreciation for our work in India. I miss performing in India and it is high time that they lift the ban.”

The famous social media influencer and entertainer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan recently gained huge popularity after his song Bado Badi went viral on social media and gained 28 million views. The song was taken down by YouTube, however, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan re-uploaded it on his Instagram. Well, besides this, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan also started getting multiple invitations for concerts and interviews and became a star. Well, the stardom that Chahat Fateh Ali Khan received was phenomenal and it is being criticized by the famous artists who are not happy with his success. Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, who is one of the famous Pakistani singers, is also one of them.

Well, the ace Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan recently made an appearance in Gup Shab, hosted by Vasay Chaudhry. In the interview, he showed his anger with Pakistanis for promoting people like Chahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Talking about it, he said, “I feel so sad after seeing him, we have started making fun of singers. Just because of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, our singers are being degraded, many people still believe that he is a singer and they say,’he has released a new song’. Please have a heart, he is making fun of your country’s music and singers. I will blame our people, they love to see such entertainment. They need cheap entertainment, they will appreciate a weird and funny artist instead of a real one. We will see the repercussions of it in future, they will realize their mistake. Shafi Muhammad Shah was a legendary Pakistani actor who began his acting career in 1980. His notable dramas include Akhri Chattan, Aanch, Teesra Kinara, Bund Gulab, Chand Girahan, Tapish, Zeenat, Noori Jam Tamachi, Jungle, Zara Si Aurat, and Talash, among others. Shafi Muhammad Shah passed away on November 17, 2007, at the age of 58. At the time of his death, he left behind a loving family, including his wife, daughters, and sons. In February, his second-born daughter passed away due to cardiac arrest. The news was shared by his daughter, who is quite active on social media.

Today, Shafi Muhammad Shah’s daughter shared a beautiful memory from her parents’ wedding day along with a lovely wedding picture.

While sharing the memory, Shafi Muhammad Shah’s daughter wrote, “On her wedding day, my mother didn’t like her bridal makeup, so she came back home, washed it all off, and my khala had to redo it. My father, meanwhile, was so relaxed that he reached the venue before most of his own family and guests. My mother’s uncle, who was in the army and had that wonderfully commanding personality, looked at him and said something along the lines of, ‘Why are you here all by yourself?’ It was one of those unintentionally hilarious moments. The groom had arrived so early that he was practically waiting for everyone else. The little girl my father is holding is my mother’s khala’s daughter. He became so close to my mother’s family in such a short time that it already felt like he had always been one of them. This was 1984. Life was far from perfect, but there was a simplicity to human connection that feels increasingly rare today. I hope we find our way back — back to honesty over deceit, commitment over convenience, respect over pride, real conversations over endless distractions, and meeting simply because we wanted to be together over a cup of chai. I hope our children get to know that world one day. For now, it feels like we’ve left it behind.” Here is the beautiful post shared by Shafi Muhammad Shah’s daughter:

Shafi Mohammad’s eldest daughter is quite active on social media, where she often shares memories of her parents. Today, on her late father Shafi Mohammad’s 77th birthday, she shared a heartwarming note along with a memorable picture of her parents, revealing the details of where the photo was taken.

Taking it to Instagram, Shafi Muhammad’s daughter wrote, “My mother told me the story behind this photograph. It was taken shortly after my parents got married. They were at the home of their friends(Bushra Ansari’s residence), who had asked them to stay for dinner. While they waited, Baba was excitedly showing Ama a newspaper article about their marriage. I look at this photograph and cannot help but imagine what that moment must have felt like. Simple. New love. Exploring a marriage that happened in 13 days. The smile on Baba’s face. The charm. Two people, newly married. Still getting to know one another. Sitting on the floor of a friend’s home, waiting for dinner, while he proudly shows his newly wedded wife something written about them, excitingly. And there she is, quietly reading it. There is something about photographs from that time. No posing for an audience. Not knowing that one day, thousands of people would look at this moment. Just someone’s camera capturing two young people and an ordinary evening that would, decades later, become a beautiful memory. Before everything Baba became, before the world knew him for his charm and his extraordinary talent, he was simply this young man, excitedly showing his wife a newspaper. And she was simply his young wife, sitting beside him. Perhaps that is what I love most about this photograph. Happy 77th Birthday, Baba.”

She further added, “Happy Birthday, Shafi Muhammad The world remembers you.
But as your daughter, I think one of the greatest privileges of my life is that I get to remember you as my father”

Shafaat Ali has made a name for himself through his hilariously accurate parodies. He became especially popular with his Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto initiation. This Ramzan, we saw him hosting Dil Dil Ramzan, alongwith Bushra Ansari and Noman Ejaz and his energy and enthusiasm gained him quite a lot of appreciation. Talking to an online magazine HIP, he discussed in detail about his experiences and aspirations.

Q.How was your experience working alongside a comic-legend, Bushra Ansari on your very own Ramadan transmission? How do you think you’ve evolved with this project?

Syed Shafaat Ali ; I didn’t expect myself to be capable of handling the entire transmission but working alongside Bushra Ansari, Noman Ijaz and many there, it’s just been amazing. I think I’ll be able to do better transmissions now and catch more audiences.

Working in a Ramadan transmission is really tough because it’s religious and has to be a little comic as well, so finding a fine line in between them both is tough.

Q. You’ve been multi-tasking for the past few months on television, you’re making your film debut and much more, how are you manage it all? How does your wife respond to your busy schedule?

Syed Shafaat Ali; I’m travelling with my family and pretty thankful to my supportive wife for cooperating with me because that’s the only way you can take out time for them right now. Family comes first and she was here [in Karachi] with me during the Ramadan transmission as well.

Q. You plan on making your film debut with Parwaaz Hay Junoon, tell us a bit about your decision on why you chose this role, how were you approached and how has the experience been?

Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually had a cameo in Na Maloom Afraad, which was one or one and a half second-long, but I signed Parwaaz Hay Junoon first but it got delayed. Initially I thought I could present a different side of mine with this film and I thought films aren’t able to make much of an impact, but Parwaz Hai Junoon will definitely make a difference.

Q. We’ve all seen your talents in mimicry and acting from videos online, tell us a bit about all the other things you plan on doing and do you think your newfound fame is all credited to your gigantic social media presence?

Syed Shafaat Ali; I don’t think social media is something which requires recommendation; it is based on raw talent and public votes. It’s all about the entertainment and ‘x-factor’ that you have. Of course my fans have a huge part to play and I feel like if you want to make it big, YouTube is now the global PTV. So get yourself registered there and showcase what you have.

Q. We hear you’re also considering a television serial. What other avenues do you wish to explore?

Syed Shafaat Ali; Basically my niche is political comedy [satire] and it has always had a tough, limited audience, I want to work with that on a larger scale. I have been working on something big and Inshallah, I will be introducing it to the Pakistani audience in September.

Q. You want to take stand-up comedy from Pakistan internationally and make it recognized globally. How has that journey been for you so far and what’s next for you?

Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually want that and I recently did a European tour with an amazing audience there; Pakistani stand-up comedy is widely appreciated over there. I did stand-up sessions in Malaysia as well and all over Pakistan too.

The only reason we are not as recognized as other comedians is because we don’t have much knowledge on handling YouTube and if one wants to make it big, sign up there, get registered, learn and claim the stage.
