Ever since Ertuğrul started airing on PTV, dubbed in Urdu, the Pakistani public has been in a frenzy. People are loving the Turkish series more than ever, but the industry is having a problem with the series.

Yesterday, the whole country came to a standstill when a chairlift broke in the middle of the air in Allai, Battagram. The chairlift had 8 people including 7 kids and one teacher. The people in the area have to use the chairlift everyday due to lack of infrastructure. As hue and cry grew on the social media, Pakistan Air Force deployed two helicopters while SSG Commandos also joined in to rescue the hanging people. After nearly 12 hours of effort, only one child was rescued and that is when the ground operation started and local hero Sahib Khan came in.

Sahib Khan used slings and a locally made cart while he was assisted by a special team flown in from Mansehra. Rscue 1122 was also standing on the ground for the people being rescued and they were finally able to get everyone back on the ground and the whole nation took a sigh of relief.

Though dramas of another muslim majority country Turkey are quite popular in our country, but dramas of Iran another muslim
majority country and our western neighbor are not a preferred choice for media houses. ATV was the first one which aired a regular Iranian drama Roz-e-Hasrat (https://reviewit.pk/first-iranian-drama-on-pakistani-channel/) last year in Ramazan which went unnoticed. This year ATV is again coming up with Iranian darama. Like last
year it will be telecasted in matinee timings instead of prime time.

Iran is western neighbour of Pakistan with Persian (Farsi) as official language. Despite strict regulations for media
content, Iran has a vibrant film and television industry. Irani films are viewed and produced in good numbers. Iranian films and television are also followed in persian speaking countries/regions of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bahrain and Iraq. In Pakistan, cultural centers of Iran are located in all major cities which regularly arrange film festivals where irani films are screened. However for some un-explainable reasons Iranian films are not able to appeal general public. Regarding television dramas, no private satellite channel has ever aired any regular Iranian drama, ATV is the only one which has done it last year. However Iranian productions on religious and historical events are aired on satellite channels, these include dramas on event of karbala, moharram and history of arab anudulus. Last year TV One has also aired a serial on history of spain under arab rule, which was perhaps an Iranian production.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is a supermodel, social media influencer and an actress. In 2017, Saheefa tied the knot with Khawaja Khizer Hussain.

Saheefa recently gave an interview in which she mentioned the journey from modeling to acting. Saheefa Jabbar Khattak said, “I have been interested in gaining fame since my childhood but I never thought that I would be associated with the media in the future. Since we are Pathans, the way the girls are taught in our family is different from others, so I also thought that I would become something else.”

“After I entered into this field later I was awarded with the Emerging Talent Award, after which offers for dramas started coming. On Mother’s Day, I got a call from Hum TV that you have an audition tomorrow. I said that my marriage is going on, so they said that there is no problem. Come and give audition. I came from Lahore to Karachi to audition the very next day”, added Saheefa.

Saheefa further mentioned that, “I gave the audition in bad way so that they will reject me but hardly after 2 or 3 days I got a call that you are selected.” This drama was Saheefa Jabbar’s first project called “Teri Meri Kahani”.

Talking about her father, she said, “Abu must have thought at first when he came into my industry, but later he agreed. He always said, don’t work for money at all, do it for your interest. He used to say never run after money, where to meet with respect and this is the formula I am adapting now.”

In an interview, the host asked Saheefa Jabbar about the fight with Iqra and Yasir in a club in Toronto.

On which, she responded, “What’s the point of talking about it now?”

Then the host shared the story in his style and said, “In the club, Yasir and Iqra were together but when Yasir saw you he started getting close to you in the club.”

“Iqra got jealous and threw the glass on Yasir’s face and after this, you were all thrown out of the club. How is this story?”

Saheefa Jabbar commented, “This is true. They didn’t kick me out of the club.”

“It was Iqra’s fault and a little bit my fault too and it was Yasir’s fault too,” she added.
