Saat Din Muhabbat In is an upcoming Pakistani romantic comedy. The film has a huge star cast including Mahira Khan, Shehryar Munawar Siddiqui, Javed Sheikh, Amna Ilyas, Mira Sethi, Hina Dilpazeer among others. The film will pair Shehryar and Mahira second time after Ho Mann Jahan. The film is in shooting process right now but the release date or more like release time is here. According to the news, Saat Din will hit cinemas at Eid ul Fitr 2018.
JPNA 2 is also expected to release on Eid ul Fitr so if that happens, it will be a big clash at the box office. Now we have to wait till Eid ul Fitr to see whether Saat Din proves to be a good watch or not!

Saadat Hassan Manto is a leading name of Urdu literature especially for short story writing. Saadat Hussain Manto was born in 1912 in Ludhiana district, Punjab (Now in Indian Punjab) of British India. Saadat Hussain wrote many dramas for radio, stories for film as well apart from writing many short stories. Manto married a lady named Safiya and the couple has three daughters. After partition in 1947, Manto migrated to Pakistan where he passed away in 1955 at a rather young age of 42. After his death he was awarded Nishane Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan.
Manto was famous for his unique style of writing. Though accused and trialed for alleged obscenity for few of his short stories, the accusations proved wrong in the court. Before partition in Bombay,British India, Manto wrote stories and script of many films in late 1930 and 1940’s before migrating to Pakistan. Despite all the controversies Manto is now considered a prominent name of Urdu Literature. Manto never wrote any novel.

Beli
In Pakistan the showbiz scene starts from film Industry where first film Teri Yaad was released in 1948 and proved dead flop at box office. The infant film industry was struggling due to lack of finance and skilled workers, however gradually the situation was stabilized.
Beli released in 1950 was the only film/drama which Saadat Hassan Manto wrote himself. Beli introduced few artists which later proved assets of Pakistani films. Sabiha Khanum, Santosh Kumar and music composer Rasheed Attray made their debut from this film. Director Masud Parvez later also provided many remarkable films like Koel, Intizar, Heer Ranjha. The film also starred Shahina Ghaznavi who is step khala(aunt) of Salma Agha,i.e. daughter of Anwari Begum and Rafiq Ghazanvi.
Saadat Hassan Manto passed away in 1955 so Beli in 1950 is the only film which he wrote himself. After Beli few films were adapted from his short stories.

Badnaam Badnaam in 1966 was a superhit film based on short story Jhumkay written by Saadat Hussain Manto. Directed and produced by Iqbal Shahzad, Allaudin, Nabeela, Neelo, Ejaz and Rangeela were in lead roles. Allaudin’s evergreen dialog ‘kaun laya hai yeh jhumkay kahan say aaye yeh jhumkay‘ was an instant hit. The film also featured the evergreen song in the voice of Surraiya Multanikar Baray Be Murawat Hain Yeh Hussn Walay.Deebo from East Pakistan was the composer of Badnaam. Badnaam is considered a classic in the history of Pakistani film industry.
Ek Gunah Aur Sahi
Ek Gunah Aur Sahi released in 1975 was a super hit film which celebrated platinum jubilee. Ek Gunaah Aur Sahi was inspired from a short storry Mummy written by Saadat Hassan Manto. It was directed by Hassan Tariq and his wife Raani was in lead role paried with Muhammad Ali. However the pivotal role of Mummy was played by legendary Sabiha Khanum. Nisar Bazmi was the music composer for Ek Gunah Aur Sahi.
In early 1980’s Pakistani Urdu cinema gradually declined and at the same time Pakistani television attracted viewership and gained popularity due to its strong dramas. However unlike films which is a private entity, Pakistan television was a government institution where some censorship policy as per the wished of the government and ruler is always followed.
Pakistan television though adapted many novels for dramas, but no story of Manto was dramatized till 1990’s. After 1990’s many short stories of Saadat Hassan Manto were converted to one episode dramas but there is no drama serial to date.
Kahani Ghar
Kahani Ghar was a drama series from PTV Lahore center in mid 1990’s featuring dramatized versions of famous short stories from Urdu literature. The series also featured two short stories of Saadat Hassan Manto
One was named Tutu where Nauman Ejaz and Iffat Raheem played the lead roles, whereas Akbar Subhani played the role of Manto. There was another short story of Saadat Hassan Manto dramatized in the same drama series of Kahani Ghar.
Manto Rama
Since 2000 many private Pakistani satellite channels were launched. The first satellite channel Indus Vision also started a drama series based on short stories of Saadata Hussain Manto named Manto Rama in mid 2000’s. Faisal Rehman, Nadia Jameel appeared in few episodes of Manto Rama.
Manto Kahani
PTV in late 2000’s also aired another drama series named Manto Kahani based on various short stories of Manto. it featured Nauman Ejaz, Maria Wasti, Sania Saeed and others in various episodes.
Apart from above mentioned drama series, there are few one episode dramas based on Manto short stories were also aired on Hum TV and TV One.

ARY’s drama serial Ruswai is a gut-wrenching story of a rape survivor. The drama’s cast features; Sana Javed as Sameera and Mikaal Zulfiqar plays her husband, Salman. The supporting cast is played by Osama Tahir as Sameera’s brother and Syed Mohammed Ahmed as her father are particularly notable.
The audience felt every emotion while watching the drama, from the heartbreak to frustration to the helplessness and the realness of it all.
The drama has been written by Naila Ansari. In an interview, she talked about the storyline and how it is based on a true story.
She revealed, “It was a big tragedy and it happened at Do Darya. A father saved his friend’s son and he asked me to write on it so I said I will think about it. I was living in Dubai at that time and I had no idea about the ground realities of Pakistan.”
The writer Naila Ansari turned the story into a family drama. “A tragedy is also on a news channel but when it comes to the drama we have to add entertainment and make it a family drama.”
She further added, “For a writer, it is important to produce thought-provoking content. In such cases, if the girl comes back what is the reaction of family and society? For us, rape is a stigma.”
She talked about how it took a long span of time to write Ruswai. “It took me a lot of time to write it because I was working along with the content team of Six Sigma and it’s a strong team. We used to have discussions on each and everything,” Naila Ansari added.
Ruswai is a story of a rape survivor and how her life changed after one tragedy. From her relationships to people’s perceptions, everything changed in her life.

Russia has offered to supply its corona virus vaccine ‘Sputnik V’ to Pakistan.
Confirming Russia’s offer, the Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan was in touch with various sources to get the vaccine on time.
A Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan was trying to get the most effective vaccine at the best possible price. A proposal had been received from the Russian government in this regard and a draft of the proposal has been sent to the Ministry of National Health.
According to the spokesman, the Ministry of Health is reviewing the rules, results and tests in this regard.
It is believed that Russia has started using its own vaccine in the capital Moscow and in the first phase it will be given to doctors, medical staff, teachers and other rescue personnel, while a nationwide vaccination program will be launched from next week.
According to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Russia has already vaccinated more than 100,000 at-risk people.
Sputnik V, a coronavirus vaccine developed at the government level in Russia, was approved in August.

They all told me that it was the first time that they were working in such a setting, and this idea emerged in front of me, and then the way it was executed is something great. We should make such dramas more and more.
Talking about how she was offered, Rushna said, “I was called by 7th Sky Entertainment when they were signing the actors, and I was so happy to receive the offer, and when I heard about the cast, I got excited because they all were big names.”
Talking about Kiran’s character, she said, “Kiran is a layered character; she is quiet from the outside, but there is a storm inside her.’ Kiran and Kamran were old friends, then they got married, and then she became a mother; she is already dealing with postpartum depression when she had to face this; this was challenging to play Kiran”
Talking about working with big names, she said, “I was a bit confused when I realised I have to work with Saba Qamar and Faysal Quraishi, but I am the kind of actor who shuts off all the thoughts when I go into the scene. But with Faysal, Saba and all the actors, they made me feel so comfortable. He did not show me that I am something lesser and he’s a big star.”
Talking about Saba Qamar, she said, “Saba Qamar is a powerhouse; she is so into her work, she is so talented, and she is so hard-working. She is a combination of both. I was in awe of her; the way she performed crying scenes, she aced it. I think only Saba Qamar could do Case No. 9.”

As expected, Apple didn’t unveil its next iphone, the iPhone 12, at it’s ‘Times Flies’ event yesterday. It will just be the second time in the history, when an iPhone will be launched outside of September .
The last time it happened was when iPhone 4s was unveiled. This time its mainly due to one reason and its the ongoing global pandemic.
Earlier in July, Apple CFO Luca Maestri during the Apple’s Q3 2020 earning call had confirmed that the iPhone will be launched few weeks later compared to the previous iPhone launch dates.
When do we now expect the iPhone 12?
A number of rumors have suggested that the new iPhone line-up will likely be unveiled in October 2020. However, Apple has never gone through such time as most of us we can still not be sure regarding it.
According to leaker Jon Prosser we’re likely to see the new iPhones during the event on the week of October 12.
Nothing is confirmed untill we officially hear it from Apple.

Famous journalist, film script writer and the wife of film writer/director Syed Noor, Ms. Rukhsana Noor passed away today in Lahore due to cancer. A journalist by profession Rukhsana married Syed Noor and fully supported him in his film projects.

Syed Noor started his film career as script writer in mid 1970’s and in early 1990’s also ventured into the direction. The decade of 1990’s brought success for Syed Noor as a director with back to back success of Urdu films like Jeeva, Sargam, Sangam, Chor Machaye Shor, Ghoongat, Hawain, Deewane Tere Pyar Ke. Syed Noor as a director revived the Urdu cinema again in 1990s. Rukhsana Noor played a vital part in this struggling phase of Syed Noor and fully supported him in the film making. She wrote the script for films like Sangam and Hawain as well as songs for few films like Sangam. She also won the National Film Award and Nigar Award for Sangam released in 1998. The music of Sangam also proved successful like the film and the lyrics of Rukhsana were also an important part of this success.
After the success of Urdu films Syed Noor also made some success Punjabi films like Choorian (1998) and Majajan (2006). She was the writer of Majajan a film which continuously screened for two years in cinemas of Lahore despite film making was becoming extinct in our country.
Rukhsana Noor and Syed Noor have four kids three daughters and one son. Rukhsana Noor shifted to USA with her kids in the early 2000 while Syed Noor continued film making in Pakistan.

Talking about her marriage and divorce she said, “I got married a few years ago and then got divorced super quickly after. And that’s that really. Never really put my private life up for people to speculate about in the first place, but I don’t blame them for being curious about such matters.”

But this is not just about me, it’s about the hundreds of thousands of women who are made to feel like they should be ashamed if their marriages didn’t work out, who are told time and again by their own husbands and in-laws that there’s something wrong with them, that they need to change themselves to fit into some mould of the perfect wife (whatever that is), who’s gaslighted continuously and stripped of their vibrant personalities.”
