Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sanam Marvi, and Asim Azhar are all set to perform in lyrical night, scheduled on 26th August at Abdul Sattar Edhi Stadium in Karachi.
The musical is meant to bring back the once forgotten late night soulful musical celebrations in the city. It is going to contradict the concerts that are organized every other day.
Rahat Fateh Ali revealed that the lyrical was initially scheduled for 22nd July, but it had to be postponed due to the enraging monsoon rains in the metropolis. He further said that it is going to be his first ever Musical with Sanam Marvi and Asim Azhar and he look forwards to performing together.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is one of the biggest names from Pakistan. Hailing from the Fateh Ali Khan gharana, his son Shahzaman Ali Khan has followed in his footsteps and he will be carrying the family’s legacy forward. The father son duo have shared something special for Muharram 2026.

Singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam will be lending their voice for the soundtrack of the upcoming Indan movie Namaste England.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Rahat has sung a new track for the Vipul Shah’s directed film starring Bollywood actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.
Penned by Javed Akhtar, the track promises to be a masterpiece as Rahat’s previous hit Main Jahaan Rahoon from Namastay London.
While Aslam will be singing a song composed by Manan Shah and penned by Akhtar.
Speaking to the Indian publication, Manan said it was a pleasure working with the musician.
“It’s sheer pleasure to have recorded Tu Meri Main Tera with Rahat sahab, I’ve always been a big fan of his voice. The song was well-received. Our second association had to be a special one and what better than Namaste England.”
The composer added,
“We have tried a unique style which Rahat sahab has also explored for the first time. He was excited about singing something so new and fresh,”
While talking about Aslam, Shah said he adores the singer’s voice.
“Atif was always my first choice for Tere Liye. I adore his voice and he’s sung a quintessential romantic song. Javed sahab has written a wonderful song and it’s one of his personal favourites too.”
Namaste England will be released on 19 October 2018 worldwide.

After that, Atif Aslam started charging around Rs. 2 to 2.5 crore per performance. Today, the most-awaited last episode of the drama serial Raah E Junoon aired on Hum TV. The drama’s happy ending was loved by the viewers. The drama viewers praised Shabrez and Mehar’s chemistry. However, a few drama buffs were not satisfied with the incomplete conclusion of the drama. They were of the view that Shabrez’s mother should have confessed her biggest wrongdoings.

Danish Taimoor is back on television in his signature style and his fans are super happy to see him. He is playing Shabrez and his leading lady this time is Komal Meer who is playing Meher. The drama started last night with a very fast paced episode and we got to see a lot in one episode. Danish is again playing a rich guy who wanted to take his own life due to his parents’ neglect while Komal is the girl who is bringing him back towards life. The first episode was shot in scenic views which further beautified the overall scenes.
The first episode focused on love developing between Mehar and Shabrez as Shabrez comes back towards a normal life again. We also have a sister rivalry going on with no explanation for it. We also have Saba Faisal, Ali Tahir and Mehmood Aslam in the drama to add the necessary masala and obstacles.

Bollywood’s Raees was expected to release today across Pakistan i.e. 5th February 2017 , which coincidentally is also the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
As per the due process the film was imported last week after receiving Non Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Commerce. After the import the film is presented before the three functional film certification boards to get the screening certificate. Sindh Board for Film Certification (SBFC), covers the whole province of Sindh apart from cantonment areas. Punjab Board for Film Certification (PBFC) covers the whole province of Punjab apart from cantonment areas Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) covers the provinces of KPK and Balochistan, Federal Capital Islamabad, Federal territories of Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit Balistan & FATA as well as the cantonment areas of Punjab and Sindh
The film is cleared for screening by PBFC and SBFC and thus its release date was advertised in the press as today.
However it faced a last minute blockade from the CBFC which has reservations over the few scenes and content of the film. As per the press report the film shows the story of a Gujarati Muslim bootlegger and it has raised few eye brows within CBFC.
Unable to reach a decision CBFC has referred the film to full board meeting which will held in this week to decide the fate of the film. CBFC has also ordered the PBFC and SBFC to put on-hold the screening certificate till the film is cleared by the full board.
Historically any film referred to full board seldom sees the light of the day. Normally the full board asks the Ministry of Information for advice which mostly refuses the right of screening. Sometimes the full board asks to re shoot few scenes of the film which in case of a Bollywood film is not an option and thus uncertainty looms over the screening of Raees for the time being.
Before Raees two other Bollywood films (Kaabil, Ae Dil Hai Mushil) are released on 3rd February 2016 after the three month ban on the screening of the films is removed. However so far the box office report of both these films is below expectations and thus film exhibitors are eagerly awaiting the release of Raees , hoping it will revive the deserted cinema houses.

Raees is anything but a movie with an unpredictable plot. It is set in the 80’s in Gujarat, India and takes you back to Shah Rukh Khan’s anti-hero days but this time around as a kind-hearted criminal. The movie marks Mahira Khan’s Bollywood debut. So keeping spoilers to a minimum, let’s begin.
It’s a story of a guy named ‘Raees’, who since his childhood dreams to set his own empire and works for it as he does everything illegal to gain power. He has a best friend cum assistant who supports him the whole time. Aasiya(Mahira Khan) is Raees’ love interest and later wife and doesn’t has much to do with his business. Majumdar(Nawazuddin Siddique), the fierce cop is on hunt to finish crime and punish Raees, their chor-police relationship is extremely engrossing. So, the clever bootlegger ‘Raees’, faces trouble as a brave cop starts chasing him.
Raees is a typical adrenaline-filled, action packed Bollywood masala movie, but there were many times when the movie felt a bit drawn out but amazing performances carried it towards the end. The movie had a predictable story line but the first half was pretty much engaging and our hero was all set on his journey to rule the liquor business. The second half was all about Raees helping others. The story then fell flat, was stretched and the reason was the lack of depth in the script which pretty much sums it all. Shah Rukh Khan’s performance was applaudable as he knew exactly what to do and carried the movie well, with his realistic acting. Nawazudin Sidiqui here, deserves a special mention because he actually shined with his commendable acting in small bits here and there.
How do you not root for Mahira Khan in her Bollywood debut? Aasiya, the wife of Raees unfortunately, did not had a lot of screen time. Mahira’s scenes were restricted to some emotional moments and songs, but she did made her presence felt. She stunned as Aasiya but at one hand she seemed confident and on the other hand her dialogue delivery seemed cringe worthy. Raees wouldn’t conclude as Mahira’s best performance till date but she managed to pull off her part pretty well. She might have shown more of her persona magic if provided with some good screen time. And well as expected, she shared a crackling chemistry with SRK which will make you fall for them.
Raees overall is a blend of romance, crime and politics but is an average movie. It is a kind of tale which is the same old beaten to bits one. The direction and dialogues were quite average with an ordinary script and an expected music with only two praise worthy songs. However, production elements were good and be it cinematography or background score, it was all satisfactory.
There were some other good parts too since the action was exhilarating and SRK carried those over sized spectacles pretty impressively too. All the actors have done a good job but the movie doesn’t has much beyond that. Raees is certainly a one time watch and a must watch for all the SRK and Mahira fans out there.

Blunder(Spoilers alert): The timeline of the movie was a bit unclear as there was a leap of one year right after Aasiyah’s pregnancy news. Surprisingly, there was no baby around even after a year and Aasiya and Raees were acting normal but suddenly during ‘O Zalima’, Raees is shown naming their baby(no clue to how the baby suddenly arrived and that too after a year or so). He further throws parties for having a baby boy which left me wondering to what exactly went wrong, as the editing there was a total mishap.

In these four weeks, most of the characters have been introduced in detail, while a few have yet to make an appearance. The plot revolves around 3 main characters and their households. Radd is essentially a love triangle involving characters that have complicated circumstances.
The relationship dynamics between Zain (Arsalan Naseer), Emaan (Hiba Bukhari), and Salaar (Shehryar Munawar) were shown with clarity in these 4 episodes. Emaan’s first impressions of both these characters and how these impressions changed were covered through various scenes that highlighted different aspects of the personalities of all these characters. While Emaan and Zain’s lives are like an open book, there is a lot about Salaar that the viewers do not know yet. Salaar’s track has an element of mystery which I find as the only aspect of the drama that might give me a reason to tune into it every week.
Zain and Emaan’s households are littered with clichés. Zain comes from an affluent family, and is the only son, the apple of everyone’s eye; his life is uncomplicated and almost perfect. The nand/bhabi scenario involving his mother and phupo stands out as an extremely clichéd one. Emaan, on the other hand, does not come from an affluent background, even though her outfits and the décor in her house suggest otherwise! She is the strong, independent, breadwinner daughter we have seen on our screens before as well. Her character reminds me of Ushna Shah’s character from Habs. The big difference however is that she does not have an insecure parent!
Salaar comes from an affluent background but after being blamed for his mother’s tragic death, he has had to live a life different from others around him. While overtly he is a caring and sensitive individual, certain aspects of his personality make you wonder if he is so. He comes with baggage and is head over heels in love with Emaan. The promos of the drama suggest that his character is perhaps going to take a completely different turn as the story unfolds but the plotline available online tells a different story!
Radd Performances
Performances play a vital role in making or breaking a serial! The producers made a wise choice by casting Hiba Bukhari and Arslan Naseer, who have a dedicated fan base. Despite their notable presence in the entertainment industry, their performances are lacking in terms of acting talent. While they have managed to perform fairly well, they have once again failed to add the kind of spark to their respective characters that would truly leave an impression. The fact that both these actors continuously get leading roles in prime-time drama goes to show that their popularity is the determining factor and not their potential as performers.
Shehryar Munawar is another actor whose performance is most often one-dimensional. The fact that he is playing a character that, so far, does not require much definitely helps. It is rather interesting that all these three leading actors have the same set of ‘limited’ skills as performers.
Syed Mohammad Ahmed’s acting skills are always impressive but he is yet again playing a role which he has played at least twice before, in Betiyan and Kuch Ankahi. This entire track is clichéd to the core; a single father struggling to keep his daughters’ in-laws happy! There are some moments which could have been far more heart-warming had they not been shot in a less filmi and more realistic manner. The susral issues being faced by the daughters as well as Paras Masroor’s casting offer nothing new. Yamina Peerzada could have chosen a better role for her comeback to dramas.
Dania Enwer is one of those rare supporting actors who manage to make their presence felt every single time. She is an impressive performer who ensures that every single gesture and moment counts. Among the supporting actors, her character stands out mainly due to her performance. Ismat Zaidi looks graceful on-screen and her character is pleasant as well but there are some contradictions too. Asma Abbas is another actress who looks great in Radd but her character, so far, is unremarkable and run-of-the-mill.
Visuals & Background Score
The ever-present loud background score throughout these 4 episodes proved to be distracting and irritating. It failed to serve its intended purpose of enhancing the scenes for the most part. I had to constantly adjust the volume because otherwise, the scenes with the background score were too loud. In the absence of the background score, the dialogues were barely audible with the same volume.
The sluggish pacing of most of the scenes affected the entertainment and engagement value of these episodes. This treatment given to the scenes would have made more sense if this was a musical and not a serial!
There has been a deliberate effort to make the scenes visually pleasing at times at the cost of originality. The overall make-up, dressing, and sets coupled with the filters aim to give each episode a visually pleasing look. I must say that the production design of the drama fails to accurately reflect the socioeconomic backgrounds of the middle-class characters. This seems to be a norm nowadays.
Jamil’s house for instance has some modern touches, too many wall hangings, and overall an appearance that does not go well with the people who are running that house. Similarly, Emaan’s house is too modern and looks ‘expensive’. I had to constantly remind myself that these individuals were actually struggling with finances and did not even own a car! The whole scenario reminded me of Jaan-e-Jahan where, as a viewer, I constantly had to remind myself that Mahnoor and Gulzaib were struggling financially!
As someone who seeks substance in entertainment, I find myself increasingly disillusioned by this shift toward prioritizing commercial gain over originality. Unfortunately, those producers and channels that dare to experiment do not get the ratings. For instance dramas such as Khushbo Mein Basay Khat and Stand Up Girl did not get the same attention as dramas such as Mein, Ishq Murshid, and Jaan-e-Jahan. Khaie was one of the rare recent dramas that seamlessly blended quality content with commercial appeal.
If the entire story of the drama as narrated on social media is correct then I am wondering who gave that story away! As viewers, we may find ourselves torn between the temptation to uncover plot details and the desire to experience the story as intended by its creators. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with all involved parties to uphold the integrity of the storytelling process and respect the anticipation and excitement of the audience.
Overall, sitting through the four episodes of Radd was challenging due to the poor treatment given to the script, subpar performances by leading actors, and cliched scenarios. One can only hope that it gets better in the next few weeks with the potential for character development, plot twists, and the introduction of new characters.

First of all every drama must be commercially successful means lots of advertisement is required through promos which generates interest. A good cast is required to attract audience at first but this strategy will not work for a long time. So eventually when the drama will get ON-AIR its story should be interesting and full of curiosity it reflects what was actually been shown in promo, sometimes promos includes only interesting parts of the story and rest of the storyline was not attractive at all. Last but not the least the director must have directed the whole drama very well this also includes brilliant camerawork and editing. Additionally the selection of day to telecast the drama is necessary because it happens mostly that on the day you want to telecast the drama on primetime slot another popular drama was already running and hence you will remain behind in the race of TRP. Monday: Four interesting dramas on this day” Ruksaar” on GEO-TV, “Jan hatheli per” on PTV, “Zindagi tere bina” on Hum-TV and” Mere Apne” on ARY Digital. Unfortunately I am watching none out of these but these four dramas are in intense competition for the TRP. I guess Ruksaar is winning since I am receiving so many reviews about this drama and then followed by Zindagi Tere Bina on Hum Tv. Third is Jan Hatheli on PTV and last is Mere Apne. So Geo wins the race on Monday, Mere apne drama is behind because from its commercial this drama seems like a copy of Indian film Baghban. Do correct me if I am wrong because seriously I am not watching any of these so I have no Idea It’s all my guess.
Tuesday: Only two interesting dramas on this day on prime time slot One is “Pyaray Afzal” on Ary Digital and second “Ranjish hi Sahi” on GEO. Well we have a clear winner with a powerful move and that is ARY and the runner up is Geo. Pyaray Afzal receives each week TRP of more than 6 whereas Ranjeesh Hi Sahi receives TRP in between 3 and 4. The success of Pyaray Afzal is that it is commercially successful with popular cast and with interesting storyline thereby increasing people curiosity each week on the other hand Ranjeesh Hi Sahi was not commercially successful but it is receiving TRP of 3 and 4 because the storyline is interesting and unpredictable.

Wednesday: Again a clash of Geo and ARY and again Hum-TV fails to stand in competition. Both channels are intensely competing on this day. Well this time GEO has a powerful move “Aasmano pe Likha” but I guess it will get finished this week this drama had earned the highest TRP of 8.7. On the other hand ARY also got a strong drama “Meri Beti” but sadly this drama fails in direction allowing aasmano pe likha to take over. So Geo is winning on this day but I wonder what Geo will telecast in replacement, anyways Meri Beti drama will also get finished soon in about a month. So after this we will see who will occupy this Empty slot a great chance for HUM-TV to bring something interesting in this slot.

Thursday: Again two channels competing on this day ARY and HUM-TV this time Geo fails to stand in competition. ARY is telecasting drama “Sannata” whereas Hum-TV is telecasting recently started drama “Ru-Baru”. Well I am again confused but I guess Hum-TV is in lead currently as Ru-Baru is getting interesting day by day. Talking about Sannata it is always in a competition, from starting it was facing competition with drama AUNN ZARA on A-PLUS and obviously at that time whole Thursday was dedicated to Aunn Zara, then Sannata faces competition with PTV drama “Sanwari” I heard that this drama got the TRP of 8.1. The reason why Sannata was not a hit because it was not commercially successful. So according to my Knowledge HUM is a winner on this day but again do correct me if I am wrong.

Friday: When it comes to Friday no one can stand in competition with HUM-TV. Hum-TV owns this day they always had a powerful move on this day and this time it is drama serial “Muhabbat Subah Ka Sitara Hai”. This is the most powerful move of HUM-TV and they always got a replacement examples Maat, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Kankar. Who is the runner up then and it is ARY telecasting drama “Kabhi Kabhi” and then on third position it is GEO with drama “Meri Zindagi Hai Tu.
Saturday: This day is now simply dedicated to ARY and where every channel got only one powerful move ARY got two one I have already mentioned Pyaray Afzal and second is drama” Shukk”. ARY is a clear winner because no one is in competition in a prime slot and suppose if there was then I guess no drama can beat Shukk this is the best drama currently running on ARY.
Sunday: No question about that for sure HUM-TV is a winner as no one is in competition on this day. If there was I guess it will be a tough competition because” Bunty I Love You” is a very interesting drama and so a strong drama of HUM-TV. So in future if any channel will telecast a good drama on Sunday’s prime time slot it will surely face a fierce competition with this drama. So very intelligently played by HUM-TV by occupying weekends.
