Prem Gali Episode 22 Story Review – A Decent Episode

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali was better than the previous few episodes because, in this one, both Hamza & Joya were seen addressing the issues that are being created by their family members. I also liked how the writer subtly inculcated the idea that a husband & wife are totally entitled to having their own space, in order to keep the rest of their relationships intact. There is absolutely no denying the fact that Faiza Iftikhar has definitely put her mind to what she wanted to convey through this drama, therefore each & every scenario has a purpose & that is very much appreciated!

Hamza & Joya Address The Issues

Prem Gali has always dealt with serious & dire issues in a light-hearted manner, this is why in this episode especially, it was made clear why the writer was showing families bickering over petty issues. This is exactly what we see in different dramas but in a most negative setting but in Prem Gali, Faiza Iftikhar took a different approach & although she too has shown the issues faced by newly wedded couples, she has tried to convey how important is it to give space to a husband & wife so that they develop an understanding with each other. Joya & Hamza have not had any problems with each other but they always find themselves surrounded by issues that are created by their family members. I think this has also enabled them to take a stand for each other, at least it has started off with Joya where she put her foot down & told Shireen to not interfere in the matters concerning Hamza.

I did feel Joya was a bit too harsh with Shireen but when someone fails to budge & on top of that, fails to give justified reasoning for her unreasonable demand, it obviously does not leave Joya with any other option than to say things that will pinch her mother. Shireen obviously has her own reasons but once again, the way Manzoor has projected himself, he seems like a decent person who only wishes well for Hamza & Joya. The thing that seemed quite frustrating was how Shireen is adamant that no matter what happens, Hamza will eventually leave Joya. She definitely is painting him with the same brush & is failing to even consider it for a second that Hamza might be different & she must be wrong!

Prem Gali Episode 22 Story Review - A Decent Episode

Once again, Luqman’s suspicious behavior towards Joya may seem annoying but it does serve the purpose of bringing Musarrat & Luqman closer. In this episode, Musarrat did give words to the expectations she had of him, which goes to show that she definitely has developed some feelings for him but this thought definitely hasn’t crossed Luqman’s mind so far. Another thing that was absolutely wrong was Luqman going through Joya’s phone in order to find out if she is in love with someone else or not! Like seriously, this was wrong on so many levels!

The time Hamza spends with his neighbors is definitely going to shape his perspective & he will be forced to consider moving out, which he hasn’t thought of so far. It was nice how Abdul Maria tried to tell him that moving out does not mean that he is cutting ties with his family & in fact, it will give him the opportunity to maintain the dignity & value of these relationships in front of Joya. I liked that both Hamza & Joya did speak about how their family members were making things difficult for them & Joya didn’t leave things unexplained when she too asked him to leave his family behind. They both are justified in feeling this way & it was nice to see Hamza trying to understand how his family was making it hard for Joya exactly how her family was making it for him.

Decent Episode After Weeks

This episode of Prem Gali was definitely better than the previous few episodes. Things have finally started to move forward but I really am disappointed with how Shireen has been behaving. I really hope Hamza & Joya work as a team & make a decision that they deem right without letting anyone cloud their judgment. Sohai Ali Abro, Saba Hameed, Farhan Saeed, Uzma Hassan, Waseem Abbas & Abdullah Farhat have done a brilliant job & their chemistry as one big family definitely makes things better. Looking forward to the next episode for sure. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Prem Gali.

Prem Gali Episode 21 Story Review – Repetitive

Ohkay so, this was another average episode of Prem Gali with hardly a couple of scenes that seemed interesting & were good enough to provide the entertainment that was expected of this drama. Apart from those few scenes, the rest of them were highly repetitive & added more to my frustration as a viewer because, after 21 weeks, the thing you don’t expect is to be hearing the same conversations that were happening probably in the initial episodes.

Shireen The Paranoid

Hamza has become a hero of Prem Gali & everyone is looking up to him but the only one who has an issue with everything that he does is Shireen. The conversation that Shireen had with Joya regarding Hamza, trying to prove that he will eventually betray her trust was absolutely annoying & uncalled for. Shireen was coming across as paranoid but in this episode, she proved that she actually is suffering from paranoia & sadly, she is pushing Joya to be like her as well. It is kind of ironic that even after so many years, Shireen has not even once tried to analyze the situation to see where she went wrong with her marriage. It seems for Shireen, playing the blame game is easier & now she is doing the same thing with Hamza.

I was totally on Hamza’s side when he felt annoyed with how Joya’s entire family was interfering in each & every situation & making things hard for him. Joya also blamed Hamza’s family but that was far stretched because yes, they too are invested in the newlyweds’ lives but they are far from being as annoying as Joya’s family is. It was nice to see Joya acknowledging Hamza’s intelligence & how he earned everyone’s respect. It’s high time that Joya draws a line & prevents her family members from meddling in Hamza’s affairs especially.

Prem Gali Episode 21 Story Review - Repetitive

My only favorite scene of the episode was the conversation between Luqman & Musarrat. There was a spark from Musarrat’s side & Luqman without actually realizing did say a few things which showed that he saw Musarrat in a positive light too. As much as I feel that Uzma Hassan has made Musarrat’s character interestingly tolerable, I feel she has been wasted in Prem Gali. If it wasn’t for Uzma Hassan, Musarrat’s character would’ve looked super annoying, but as much as she has done a great job in portraying this character, I feel there should’ve been more for her to perform considering the phenomenal actor that she is. Another interesting conversation was between Fari & Joya, where they discussed their husbands, their marriages & the good & the bad.

Shireen & Manzoor’s interaction was nicely done too. That entire scene did make it obvious why Shireen had so many fears, it was because she never really gave herself a chance to understand Manzoor & his feelings. In this entire scenario, Mazoor came across as a reasonable man who actually wanted to be there for his daughter but also didn’t want to hurt Shireen or take away the fact that she was raising their daughter with so much effort & hard work. It seems after understanding Manzoor, Shireen will also start seeing Hamza differently & won’t paint him with the same brush but I honestly hope that happens soon because the slow pace is already getting to me.

Sohai & Farhan Are The Saving Grace of Prem Gali

This episode had a few important developments to its credit but I don’t know why, the overall execution & vibe of this drama is off because of which it fails to grab my interest. Sohai Ali Abro & Farhan Saeed definitely have emerged to be the saving grace of this drama & after so many weeks, I find their scenes interesting. I definitely have warmed up to their characters & understand how painful it must be for both Hamza & Joya to be stuck in between such people who are unduly obsessed with them. Prem Gali Episode 20 Story Review – Breaking Stereotypes In a Boring Way

Ohkay so, this was yet another average episode of Prem Gali. Faiza Iftikhar definitely deserves credit for trying to break stereotypes in Prem Gali. She definitely has put her time & energy into handing out a few important messages through this drama but unfortunately, the execution is so boring that it becomes a task watching Prem Gali. It is sad that a drama that started off on such a high note has now fallen flat & is burdensome to watch.

Forced Situations

Mateen, Nargis, Haseena & Salman’s track still was irrelevant. Although the writer didn’t add those scenes without a purpose but because everyone looks so caricaturish, it is hard to take them seriously. The things Mateen as well as Nargis said to Salman & Haseena about Firdous’ financial status depicted the petty mentality that people have who actually see marriage as nothing but a business deal. As much as I do appreciate the fact that Salman didn’t really pay heed to the things he heard from Mateen, but in that entire scenario, he too didn’t seem to be the right person showing off his morality because, in reality, he too falls in the same category. Salman has been jobless & probably aimless too. In their family, it was Fari who used to run a parlor to make some money, also Haseena has been running a marriage bureau to make a living, whereas Salman has only been working out to pump up those muscles. Therefore to hear Salman talk about responsibility, especially financial responsibility didn’t really make an impact. If it would’ve been Hamza, this scene definitely would’ve worked & served its purpose. So far, Salman comes across as a spoiled over-aged toddler who only knows how to whine to win what he wants.

Prem Gali Episode 20 Story Review - Breaking Stereotypes In a Boring Way

I never really imagined that I’d say this but Shireen is turning out to be such a disappointment. The way she took part in the case made against Abdul Maria & co. was so disappointing. When the drama began, Shrieen came across as the mature & wise one but with each passing episode, she is proving that she is Rahat’s daughter after all & being unreasonable is in her blood. It is also funny as well as ironic that the men she knows are only good at stirring the pot; Tau Hidayat & Mateen, she ended up believing them more than her own son-in-law who now shares a roof with her & has given her no reason to complain. In this episode, it became clear that although Shireen likes to blame Manzoor for divorcing her, I can’t help but see her paranoia being the only reason why he decided to part ways with her. It is so sad, that the strong & independent Shireen has now become a paranoid Shireen & I really don’t like her much now!

The moments Hamza shared with Sukhi & how he stood up for them was definitely the best part of this episode. Joya & Hamza’s relationship is also developing for the better but unfortunately, the preview was upsetting, rather frustrating. It is sad that of all the people, Shireen has now made up her mind that she has to question every move that Hamza makes & has to be suspicious of him all the time. No fun whatsoever!

Upsetting Promo

This episode of Prem Gali was strictly alright. The preview of the next episode also was quite annoying with Hamza & Joya now fighting over who in their side of the family is a bigger psycho. It is kind of annoying that now almost every other scenario in Prem Gali now looks forced & doesn’t really do much to keep you engaged. The script definitely needed a better execution & less caricaturish characters to have that realistic appeal to it. There is something unrealistic about the way the drama has been directed, because of which it fails to leave an impact. Anyhow, Farhan Saeed and the actor playing the role of Sukhi definitely deserve a special mention for acting brilliantly. They made this episode a lot less taxing. Prem Gali Episode 2 Story Review – The Judgments

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali didn’t really take the story forward but instead got the viewers familiarized with what the characters have gone through in the past. It was a nice way of showing their vulnerabilities & also to establish the fact of how far they had come. Usually those who carry a tough facade are seen to be emotionless but that is never the case because usually strong people also have such moments where they fall weak & get affected by bitter words. The best aspect of this episode was definitely all the interactions that the characters had with one another in the first part of the episode because by the end, the mood got a bit grim.

The Judgements

Joya & Hamza have very much fallen for each other but after all that happened, Joya is too scared to even say it aloud to her friend. Fari’s analysis of Joya’s life & her predicament was perfect because as an outsider, she can clearly see how dictated & controlled Joya’s life is. Joya & Hamza’s interactions are not too pleasant but that clearly shows how they both are being that way only to cover up the fact that they like each other.

Prem Gali Episode 2 Story Review - The Judgments

The main issue that was addressed in this episode was how a label of any sort is enough to haunt someone for the rest of their lives. It also gives people the right to say whatever they feel like based on their poor judgment. It didn’t take a second before those ladies rejected Joya because of the fact that Rahat, Shireen & Musarrat were divorced. That immediately made me think of how hard Shireen has struggled as a single parent, how she toughened herself up so that she could protect Joya like a father figure in her life would’ve done, but still, unfortunately the fact that she was a divorcee outbid all the hard work that she has done to date. It was a perfect example of how negativity consumes you & how it is a downward spiral because nothing can stop those bitter memories from resurfacing.

I kind of liked that they showed what actually happened in the past & how they all got divorced. Sadly, because of their attitudes their spouses found it hard to continue with the marriage, but still it was enough for me to feel for them all. It was nice to know that Shireen was always this strong & opinionated person whereas Musarrat was always an emotional one. In the flashback scene, Shehzad Sheikh & Jinaan Hussain gave such convincing performances, like they actually set the tone immediately to show how unhappy they were in this marriage. Shehzad Sheikh actually looked frustrated being in a relationship with a controlling woman & Jinaan Hussain actually picked up Saba Hameed’s attitude & demeanor perfectly. It didn’t take a second for me to actually see her as a present-time Saba Hameed because of the way she portrayed her younger version. Well done!

Prem Gali Episode 2 Story Review - The Judgments

This episode did not give away much of the story but it was still interesting how they showed two different sides of life – the happy moments & then not-so-happy ones. In the initial part of the episodes, all the interactions, the dialogues were hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed watching all of them being honest, open & upfront about each & everything that crossed their minds. I thought may be Tau Hidayat will get some kind of nice treatment from Shireen but oh well, even he wasn’t spared. The conversations regarding the names of the characters were my favorite, but I particularly loved what Luqman said about Haseena, like it actually seemed like a genuine mistake.

Well Acted & Directed Episode

This episode of Prem Gali was interesting but I really hope after these sad flashbacks, the story moves forward on a lighter note. Joya & Hamza’s chemistry & their bickering was cute. Sohai Ali Abro & Farhan Saeed’s dialogue delivery was superb. Saba Hameed so far is the best part of the drama & her interactions with Hatim/Waseem Abbas are always humorous. So far all the actors fit perfectly in their respective roles. It will be interesting to see where the story is headed. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Prem Gali.

Prem Gali Episode 19 Story Review – Hard To Watch

Ohkay so, I did not enjoy watching this episode of Prem Gali one bit. Almost all the scenes in this episode were irrelevant & didn’t really take the story forward or contribute to it in any way. Things have not only been monotonous but have now become so slow & repetitive that it is nothing short of a task making up my mind to watch Prem Gali.

Unnecessary Coverage Given To Rahat

It is ironic that in a family where every single thing gets blown out of proportion, no one actually found out about what Rahat did. Joya stopped Hamza from telling it to his family, but when she had an outburst, it was surprising that no one even bothered asking Joya what her reason behind such behavior with Rahat was, especially Shireen who always tries to keep Joya in check. All this while, I thought Shireen was the analytical one, she actually wanted to help Joya & would do what it takes to save her from being in an awkward situation, but instead, she too decided to swoop in to create further issues. I thought this entire incident of Rahat going to Hamza’s office would create a shift in the family dynamic where Shireen will put her foot down & save Joya & Hamza but instead, what Rahat did got brushed under the carpet & no one bothered finding out about where she went & what she did. It is understandable that the writer used this scenario to get Hamza fired from this company so that Manzoor could hire him, but it wasn’t even funny or interesting to have served any purpose.

I will be honest I find it bothersome that Rahat gets so much coverage. Yes, her dialogues are at times funny & Shamim Hilali has done a fab job in portraying this character but there has to be a balance. It seems this entire episode was dedicated to her & the viewers were forced to watch her despite not wanting to.

Prem Gali Episode 19 Story Review - Hard To Watch

All of a sudden, the team behind the drama also remembered that there were some other residents in Prem Gali too, so they too got some coverage in this episode but their issues & tracks were irrelevant yet again. Mateen approaching Haseena for Nargis’s younger sister’s proposal for Salman was irrelevant. Tau Hidayat is also being treated as a filler who has nothing better to do.

Coming to the most irritating & cringe part of the episode; the conversation that Shireen, Rahat, Hatim & his father had about Joya & Hamza’s unborn children! Out of them all, Shireen sounded foolish the most because she was least bothered about Joya’s babies, even when Musarrat suggested that Joya might be pregnant, Shireen was actually upset at the news, so for her to be so over-enthusiastic about something that she wants Joya to put on hold makes no sense whatsoever. It is unfortunate that in this entire episode, there was not even a single scene that made me laugh or smile. All that they are showing has been seen pretty much in all the previous episodes, therefore it has lost the charm, to be honest.

I really wish Luqman & Musarrat get settled down quickly so that they too stop obsessing & crying over what Hamza & Joya have done or what they are up to. It is no fun either.

Interesting Precap

The preview of the next episode was thankfully better because Hamza will now take a stand for the new neighbors. However, there’s going to be another awful situation where Shireen will question & doubt Hamza for interacting with Sukhi. I think Prem Gali should end in the next few weeks because this definitely doesn’t happen to be the story that would stay interesting for long. I wish the writer had focused more on other characters than Rahat because she is becoming hard to tolerate. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Prem Gali.

Prem Gali Episode 18 Story Review – Lack of Privacy

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali once again highlighted the issues a newly married couple has to face especially when there’s a lack of privacy in the family dynamic. This is definitely Faiza Iftikhar’s take on showing how a couple is put into an awkward situation because the people around them have a sense of entitlement & fail to realize that there are certain boundaries especially related to privacy that should be respected.

Awkward Situation Faced By Hamza & Joya

This episode once again revolved around the issues both Hamza & Joya had to face because their family members were a bit too emotional & enthusiastic. At times it does look sweet that both Hamza & Joya are being treated as the center of everyone’s universe but then it also becomes quite frustrating for them to deal with all of this, especially when they both long for some time together. Hamza & Joya wanted to watch a movie together but then the rest of the people invited themselves, finding it perfectly alright to not give Hamza & Joya some time off. This entire scenario was amusing but realistically portrayed too because we all have heard of the horror stories of how a newly wedded couple is deprived of basic privacy because the people around them fail to give them space they most certainly need.

It also perfectly highlighted how a couple has to resort to some excuses & lies in order to do what they feel like. In this case, Hamza & Joya also were forced to lie to their family members so that they could spend some time together. It perfectly showed how one thing leads to another and especially in a setting where clear communication is an alien concept, this is the only way left for the couple.

Prem Gali Episode 18 Story Review - Lack of Privacy

In this episode, I did feel for Hamza & Joya & kind of felt annoyed at how Rahat was blowing everything out of proportion. It is nice that she is very much invested in Hamza & Joya but to see her literally creating misunderstandings one after another is not much fun to watch. The funny thing is that everyone else starts believing everything that Rahat comes up with. This time around, even Musarrat couldn’t contain herself by making an assumption.

The few moments that I found interesting were Hamza’s communication with the new neighbors, Shakoor & Sukhi. It seems the rest of the neighborhood will take some time in showing acceptance to them but right now Hamza is being supportive, which is nice. Luqman is also going to play a part in creating issues for Joya because out of all the people, he figured out that Joya was not with Fari.

Not Really Exciting

This episode of Prem Gali was nice. The preview however did not excite me much. It seems Rahat is going to create a lot more trouble for Hamza & eventually he will land himself a job at Manzoor’s company. The next episode seems to be dedicated to Rahat too & to be honest, I hope the focus shifts on others, especially Manzoor. Let’s see what else do they have in store for us. Prem Gali Episode 17 Story Review – Laboratory

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali was strictly alright. The fun elements are still there but the overall vibe of the drama is not fun anymore. Things have slowed down considerably & the fact that the main couple of the show is unable to grab the interest is probably the weakest aspect of the drama. This episode however did add a new dimension to the story with the new residents of Prem Gali. This way, the writer is brilliantly opening up the discussion about how this segment of the society deserves acceptance & courtesy, which was probably the only best thing about this episode for me.

Slow & Stagnant

Hamza & Joya are still pretty much torn between their family members, they are trying their best to be there for each other but it is unfortunate that the rest of the family members are not getting any clue. It still rightfully shows how the concept of giving privacy & respecting certain boundaries around a young & new couple is a concept people don’t really pay heed to. This not only makes the couple irritated but also causes a strain on their relationship. In this scenario too, Hamza & Joya are finding it hard to speak up for themselves but the sad part is, the experienced people around them are treating them as toddlers who are unable to fend for themselves. So far, nothing in Hamza & Joya’s track was new or exciting so that entire chunk of the episode was pretty monotonous & borderline boring!

It seems Manzoor (Javed Sheikh), Joya’s father too is going to make an entry in her life. He is going to hire Hamza for the job & eventually will make his way into their lives, which obviously Shireen will not approve. Does this also mean that Shireen has a blissful future ahead of her? We’ll see. It does seem that at this age, especially after Joya’s marriage, Shireen too has started to feel lonely & has become quite sensitive. This is why she is seen introspecting about her ex-husband & kind of misses him too. At this stage, her emotions are driven by the bitterness & negativity that the separation brought with it but will her husband make it up to her? I am kind of interested to see but I just wish someone speeds up the process.

Prem Gali Episode 17 Story Review - Laboratory

The new tenants found a place in Prem Gali & the best part was that they were struggling to start afresh & lead a normal life, which will not only make them happy but also give them the freedom & empowerment to live life on their own terms. Faiza Iftikhar definitely deserves all the appreciation for starting this conversation & showing the humane side of these people who are often ostracized & treated as outcasts. The way Hamza welcomed them was another beautiful moment of this episode & not just welcome, he sat there to listen to what they had to say. The rest of the residents were just being insensitive because so far they have not really gotten a chance to learn or grow together, but soon enough the residents of Prem Gali will come to terms with them & open their arms for them too. This new addition was definitely heart-warming & I am glad that the actors chose to portray these characters with a lot of subtlety & maturity because there are enough caricaturish characters in the drama as it is.

Some Good Moments

I will be completely honest, the preview of the next episode did not excite me much but I will still tune to it. This is the kind of drama which you can watch mindlessly & enjoy but when it comes to reviewing, there’s hardly much to talk about. I am sure it might change when the story picks up the pace because right now I find it to be a bit too slow & stagnant. The best dialogue of this episode was when Joya called this entire household a laboratory, it’s exactly what it is. She was told to have a child quickly & then the next moment, her own mother told her to give this relationship some time to nurture & grow. Some of these moments definitely make Prem Gali special for sure, another one such moment was when Dada Jaan decided to show Joya his family pictures. The dance that Joya & Hamza had was cute too. Prem Gali Episode 16 Story Review – Confusions & Accusations

Ohkay so, in all honesty, this was probably the first episode of Prem Gali that I had a hard time watching. The first half of the episode did not work for me & the remaining half was tolerable to watch. It is a fact that Prem Gali is the kind of drama where you don’t have to look for logic or take it seriously but when situations get a bit too pushed, it doesn’t really do much to help the viewer. There’s no denying the fact that the dialogues were witty throughout the episode but the characters ended up looking a bit too caricaturish. I am glad by the end of the episode, Shireen, Joya & Hamza took over & took care of the episode as well.

Further Confusions & Accusations

The events that unfolded in this episode were pretty much an extension of what transpired last week. This time around too, none of the family members were taking it slow & they were a bit too emotionally charged about Joya & Hamza’s wedding. As much as it may seem amusing, at times it does seem frustrating that none of them is trying to understand that they need to leave the newlyweds alone. They all are hell-bent on making sure that this marriage works, without even realizing all that they’re doing are making things tough. To be honest, I was relieved after watching the precap of the next episode where Joya ‘finally’ is going to talk about her & Hamza’s likes & dislikes. I do understand that they had to take this much time at least to establish the dynamics of both the families & how they were trying to approach this drastic change in their lives but this episode in my opinion took it a bit too far.

Prem Gali Episode 16 Story Review - Confusions & Accusations

It has been realistically shown that when a couple gets married, they are the center of everyone’s attention & that’s when people find it hard to understand where they have to draw a line. This is exactly what was happening with Joya & Hamza. The reactions & approach of rest of the family members is unreasonable & that has been established in a funny manner but the way Hamza is keeping things from Joya & not being honest adds up to the frustration too. Joya is completely entitled to know each & everything that Hamza is up to, so for him to protect his father’s Peer o Murshid does not really sit well with me. As if Hamza wasn’t keeping enough secrets from Joya that now he had to also lie about the Salami amount from her too. This is obviously going to make him look suspicious & won’t help Joya in any way even when she’d want to develop a bond based on trust with her husband.

I was relieved when Shireen took matters into her hands & settled everything down. Joya’s demand for treating her family treating her husband nicely was also good & pretty much the necessity. It was now made clear that the gift came from Joya’s father & that is why Shireen wasn’t comfortable giving it to her. It will obviously make it to her one way or the other & maybe then we all can expect Javed Sheikh’s official entry into the picture. The neighbors’ reactions were realistic too but Haseena refusing to pursue the proposal for her son because of Joya & Hamza also didn’t really make sense. Haseena was always shown to be a little selfish but maybe after how the entire neighborhood came together during Fari’s wedding made her change & this is why she thought it was the time for her to reciprocate the courtesy too.

Prem Gali Episode 16 Story Review - Confusions & Accusations

Looking Forward To The Next Episode

This episode was strictly alright but yes, the conversations were decent & somewhat funny too. I am definitely excited to see Hamza & Joya taking charge of the situation & instead of being on their own, working together as a team to tackle their family members. I think that would definitely be interesting to see. All the actors have always done a good job but in this episode, I felt they took a bit too far. In this episode, there was a major continuity issue with Saba Hameed wearing one set of clothes in one scene & the other one in the next scene which showed that she was coming from her shop to her home straight away to take care of everything. It seems there are going to be some new characters making an entry too as Haseena’s tenants, I am looking forward to those characters too & hoping they spruce things up a bit too. Prem Gali Episode 15 Story Review – Unsolicited Advices

Ohkay so, although this episode of Prem Gali simply showed the unsolicited advice the newly wedded couples get, it was Faiza Iftikhar’s take on showing how easy it is to create differences between the couple when the simplest of things are overanalyzed. This entire episode was more like a funny spin on how frustrating this entire setting was for both Joya & Hamza where they didn’t even get the time to understand each other but unfortunately, there were so many people around them, ready to play their part in making their marriage work.

The Advices & The Pressures

The very first conversation that Shireen had with Joya was just simple advice which every mother believes in giving it to her daughter, where she tells her to be nice to her husband, do what he likes so that she can please him, which will strengthen their bond. Although all the things Shireen said stemmed from her own fears & insecurities but then, as the episode progressed, it became evident that everyone around Hamza & Joya was trying to tell them all that they themselves couldn’t really do when they were married. In this entire episode, Shireen’s advice seemed far more realistic & decent but yes, it definitely showed how concerned she was & probably the lack of faith she probably has in her daughter because she thinks Joya is going to stuff up.

Rahat & Musarrat weren’t far behind & they too decided to share a few things with Joya, thinking it is going to help her & this is exactly what she needs. In this entire situation, Hamza & Joya have once again taken a backseat & everyone else is trying to unconsciously take the credit for nurturing their relationship, without even realizing that this is exactly what Hamza & Joya do not need at this point!

The confusion faced by Joya was beautifully elaborated by Sohai Ali Abro. She was absolutely adorable as a newly wedded Joya who had no idea what went wrong & why her beloved husband was suddenly behaving like a totally different person. Hamza failed to share anything with anyone but at least, he was trying to get to the crux of ths situation to make it figure out a way. Hamza succeeded in meeting the Peer Fraudia & he further proved Hamza’s point when he demanded a hefty amount to undo his spell!

Prem Gali Episode 15 Story Review - Unsolicited Advices

As much as it was frustrating to see how none of the family members were giving Joya & Hamza a break, it simply showed that all of it was coming from a place of love. The thing is they all are so high on emotions right now, that they really can’t comprehend that their interference is not what Hamza & Joya need. Both the families are putting so much pressure on themselves as well as the newlyweds that it is just creating one misunderstanding after another. However, Hamza’s bad behavior is definitely to be blamed because of which Joya is facing the brunt too. The conversation that Hamza & Hatim had about Farz & Sunnat was hilarious, I loved the way Hamza reminded Hatim of how easily he skips the Sunnat during prayers, therefore he was definitely in no position to speak about.

Another little moment that I liked in this episode was the conversation that Haseena had with her son Salman regarding the finances & how Fari used to make a decent amount of money to help her mother out. These kinds of simple conversations add a lot of realism & reliability to any script. It showed how Haseena was also concerned because her tenants moved to Shireen’s place & her son was not really willing to take any responsibility. Also, it showed how Fari’s marriage has changed the dynamics of Haseena’s family. It was just a very simple conversation that a mother had with her son but it turned out to be probably my only favorite moment of this episode.

A Lot More Drama On The Way

This entire episode of Prem Gali gave coverage to what the family members of Joya & Hamza were feeling. It also showcased the problems they were facing in this new setting as each other’s relatives as well as neighbors. They all have a lot of learning to do especially in regards to how they all should give Hamza & Joya a break, here’s to hoping that it might happen soon. The contribution the neighbors showed regarding the Valima, as well as the first-ever breakfast, was really cute too. Sohai Ali Abro looked absolutely gorgeous throughout the episode, therefore I ignored the thing she does with her lips while delivering her dialogues. Uzma Hassan was absolutely sweet & Saba Hameed was superb. I am definitely looking forward to the solution Hamza’s going to figure out, however the preview suggested things are going to become a lot more intense & serious. Let’s see. Prem Gali Episode 14 Story Review – Wedding Festivities

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali was actually quite sweet but humorous at the same time. There’s a perfect blend of comedy & important messages that are being imparted which make Prem Gali an interesting watch. However, I will be honest that at the beginning of the episode, I did find some of the scenes a bit too stretched but the second half was definitely my favorite. I feel at times few scenes fail to work because of the over-stretched coverage that every other character gets & then the timing feels off a bit too, however, the scenes leading up to their marriage & after that were done really well. As much as I do like the rest of the characters & understand their contribution to the story, I find myself enjoying the scenes of Shireen & Hatim’s families a lot more.

New Beginnings & Adjustments

The beginning of the episode covered how everyone was enthusiastically participating in Joya & Hamza’s wedding. Everyone was playing their part well & also the two families were trying to get to know each other better. The scenes that covered how they both were adjusting to the new routine & settlement were nicely done. It is quite obvious that both Shireen & Hatim’s families have a lot of learning to do because this setting is completely new to them. They have come to terms with everything because they want what’s best for Joya & Hamza but they all are finding it a bit tough to compromise & adjust.

The main issue that was highlighted in this episode was how the pressures were being mounted on both Joya & Hamza to make their marriage work. The two are madly in love with each other & will obviously do what it takes to make each other happy but the things that their grandfather & mother said to them made them a lot more conscious than they should’ve been. It kind of has presented a daunting picture of marriage in their minds & as the episode progressed, it became a lot more evident that Hamza & Joya will have to endure a lot to find their happiness. The things that Shireen & Hamza’s grandfather said did make a lot of sense & were coming from a place of concern but it also goes to show how much involvement they are going to keep in their marital life, which eventually will lead to some problems that the couple will face initially.

Prem Gali Episode 14 Story Review - Wedding Festivities

As much as I loved Musarrat’s emotionality, I felt Luqman’s stress on the similarity between Dua & Joya was a bit too stretched to the point that it started to feel monotonous to me. However, I do enjoy Hatim’s reactions to Luqman’s meltdowns, therefore it compensates a bit. Musarrat melodrama continued & I must say Uzma Hassan looked absolutely cute, especially during the Baraat scene. I do like how there’s some slight connection between Luqman & Musarrat like they both are very emotional therefore they both are eventually going to understand each other better.

I laughed out loud when Dada Jaan told Hatim to offer 100 nafals, that entire situation was so realistic because Hatim is known to be following his Peer o Murshid for nitty-gritty but when it came to practicality, he had a hard time accepting Dada Jaan’s mannat. Peer o Murshid eventually did say something to Hatim which is going to cause trouble in Hamza & Joya’s marriage. I think with this, the writer is going to highlight how important it is to have logical reasoning & not just following anything or anyone blindly. Who would’ve known that the bride who was taken to their home in such a beautiful & respectful manner will now be treated as an outcast by her husband, only because Hatim feels his Peer’s orders should be followed. However, I will say that one particular dialogue where Hamza swore at the Peer was not really nice. Obviously, the Peer shown in this drama is far from being an ideal & practicing religious scholar but to add a negative connotation with someone who is revered because of his religiosity to some extent was not nice to hear!

Prem Gali Episode 14 Story Review - Wedding Festivities

Thoroughly Enjoyable Episode

This episode of Prem Gali was really sweet & I absolutely enjoyed watching the second half of it. I must say Sohai Ali Abro looked drop-dead gorgeous, her hair, makeup, jewelry & Bridal dress was gorgeous, especially I couldn’t help noticing it in the scene where she draped it all over her head to show Hamza that she was upset. Hamza & Joya looked really cute together. Farhan Saeed has performed really well as Hamza. I feel it would’ve been nice to see both Hamza & Joya steering through this new phase of their lives based on their own understandings. This entire Peer o Murshid track where Hamza will have to distance himself from Joya is going to take away the fun element & cuteness quotient from their relationship, that too when it is obvious that nothing of such sort makes sense or is logical, but I definitely have faith in Faiza Iftikhar that she is going to tackle it intelligently & will highlight how these things shouldn’t even matter.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone’s performances & their contribution to the wedding. Shamim Hilali, Saba Hameed & Uzma Hassan looked beautiful. I wish Hatim/Waseem Abbas had worn a vibrant colored kurta because it was his only son’s wedding. Qavi Khan & Abdullah Farhat’s acting & characters are cute. Waseem Abbas & Saba Hameed’s timing when both Hatim & Shireen bicker with each other is spot on & probably one of my most favorite aspects of this drama. Prem Gali Episode 13 Story Review – Wedding Preparations

Ohkay so, this was yet another fun & light-hearted episode of Prem Gali that covered the wedding preps of Hamza & Joya. Just like all the previous episodes of Prem Gali, this one too was filled with some quirky dialogues & witty interactions. I personally enjoy the interactions between Hatim & Shireen the most, because Hatim tries to beat around the bush but Shireen is always in a hurry to make her point clear. Prem Gali definitely is one such drama that is bound to make you smile & because the characters despite having such personalities do feel quite relatable, which makes it easier to understand them & connect with them.

Tau Hidayat Saves The Day

This episode emphasized the importance of good neighbors. Just when Shireen & Hatim were unable to find a common ground, Tau Hidayat made things easier for them. I have noticed that everyone else respects Tau Hidayat to a point where they just listen to him quietly but in the entire neighborhood, Shireen is the one who treats him exactly how she treats the rest of them – this entire equation is actually quite funny because one would actually expect Shireen to be more courteous towards an elderly man like Tau Hidayat but Shireen makes sure to let everyone know that she is unapologetically blunt & straight-forward, because of which she doesn’t believe in putting up a facade.

Prem Gali Episode 13 Story Review - Wedding Preparations

Anyhow, Tau Hidayat felt the best option was to move Hamza’s family in the upper portion of Shireen’s house, which would mean they’d all have their privacy while they all would still feel like a single-family unit. Mateen & his wife Nargis also came up with a solution for Hamza & Joya. It is always nice to see the entire neighborhood joining hands when it comes to such issues, despite the fact that they all do have some disagreements with each other every now & then. It goes to show that they all understand each other’s importance as neighbors.

All the scenes that covered the excitement on both the bride & the groom’s side were absolutely sweet. The best part was Rahat’s involvement in Joya’s shopping & her reaction to it. I knew it wasn’t going to be as amazing as Rahat was making it look like & that turned out to be the case. Another interesting thing to see was the entry of Peer, who put Hatim’s heart to ease by making this proposal looks promising. In this entire scenario, Hatim & Shireen’s tussle was quite amusing. Hatim is always very blunt when it comes to money & dealings related to it but little did he know that he was now going to come across Shireen who was far blunter than him & didn’t really believe in saying what she didn’t mean. Hatim thought he would get some concession but Shireen made it obvious that she was not going to give him or his family any leeway!

Prem Gali Episode 13 Story Review - Wedding Preparations

Although it sounds mean & insensitive, I find it very amusing how both Hatim & his father do not hold back in sharing what they feel about Dua in front of Luqman. It was absolutely sweet how he brought his wife’s jewelry but Hatim being his superstitious best was not ready to take any favors. Luqman has once again heard what he wanted to & he once again decided to convey it to his family that Joya might become another dua. I think because of Luqman the entire neighborhood will now get to know that Joya & Hamza are having a love marriage, that will probably put his heart to ease!

Waiting For The New Twist

This episode was absolutely sweet & I am actually looking forward to Javed Sheikh’s entry. I have a feeling he might be Joya’s father, or if not then someone who’d want the locality for his personal gains, which would put the entire neighborhood in jeopardy, let’s see. Prem Gali Episode 12 Story Review – Heartwarming Episode

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali didn’t really take the story forward but just showed the stance of almost all the characters who were directly or indirectly related to Joya & Hamza. This episode showed the significance of having empathetic & good neighbors who actually saw it as their responsibility to help the two families who were having a hard time making up their minds!

The Guarantee

Shireen has always been seen as a strict mother who really doesn’t pay much heed to the feelings & emotions of Joya but in this episode, it changed & clearly showed that no matter how strict or staunch a mother is, deep down, she only wants what’s best for her child, even if it means curbing her own emotions. It is interesting to note that this approach of Shireen has had no effect on Joya as such & she loves her mother just as much because this aspect was always taken care of by Rahat. In all those moments where Shireen was not there for Joya, Rahat did her best to make her feel loved & heard. Joya is a lot closer to her grandmother but the immense respect that she has for Shireen goes to show that she understands all the sacrifices her mother has made for her.

The highlight of this episode for me was the conversation that Joya & Shireen had. Joya got to tell her mother that she sees her as a strong & substantial woman who has proved that a woman can take whatever comes her way. Joya believed that she could live her life without Hamza but then all the things Shireen said to her left her speechless. Shireen obviously has a lot more experience than Joya & her explanation of having the emotional support & using it as a motivational force to get on with life was absolutely brilliant. That was exactly what Joya needed to hear in order to change her mind but she still had no idea whether the decision will be given in her & Hamza’s favor or not.

It won’t be an episode of Prem Gali without a strong message & this one was no different. It showed that despite the fact that Joya was heart-broken, she too realized that getting married & settling with the man of your dreams is not & should not be the only motive of life. Also, it showed that as much as Joya & Hamza loved each other, they loved their families too & this is why not even once they thought of retaliating or making their family members awkward. Joya & Hamza were suffering but they showed graciousness by letting their elders know that they shouldn’t feel burdened by what had happened – which was absolutely sweet!

I also like that although people have different opinions about the Chaudhry clan but they are just as emotional & empathetic as the rest of the people who reside in Prem Gali. The only difference is that no one has even bothered bonding with them, which would make it easier for everyone to understand that they have feelings too & they are very much in touch with their emotions. This was highlighted by the conversation that Hamza & his grandfather had where he spoke about how keen he was to see Hamza happy. It is also amazing that after interacting with them, Shireen has seen the good in them & she can easily say that they are kind-hearted people who will love & respect Joya the way she deserves to be treated because out of all the people Shireen has come across, they are the only ones who have shown acceptance towards Joya without judging her about her background!

Another favorite moment of mine was when the two families along with concerned neighbors came together to find a solution. It was nice that almost all of them were on Chaudry & Sons’ side & were calling Shireen out for her unreasonable demand. The entire conversation revolving around the guarantee of life & divorce was hilarious but then it genuinely showed their concerns. I liked how Hatim & his father also came up with a comeback to deal with Shireen because they too felt that she was being unreasonable. Although everyone else in the family is quite emotional it is interesting to note that Hatim always has a very different outlook on things, this is why he decided he had to make a few things clear with Shireen. The tension between Shireen & Hatim is always a treat to watch because they come up with one of the best one-liners to set each other straight, but I always feel Shireen has an upper hand always & no, I’m not complaining!

Fun Moments

This episode of Prem Gali was absolutely sweet & I am more excited after watching the promo. This episode has always had some of the very fun & sweet moments such as the conversation that Fari & Joya had, also the way both Mateen & Tau Hidayat tried to act smart in front of Hatim’s father but he made them run away. I also enjoy watching the small interactions that Musarrat & Luqman had, the mention of his heart stunned Musarrat & the way he ran away was so amusing. Prem Gali is a breath of fresh air & the touch of emotions throughout these episodes makes it even better. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Prem Gali.

Prem Gali Episode 11 Story Review – Confusions & Complications

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali was once again quite interesting & refreshing. It showed how the simplest of things get over complicated & those scenarios which should be simplified usually become a lot more complex & difficult because of over-analyzing. It also touched upon the subject of face-saving in such a convincing manner. Although Faiza Iftikhar has dealt with everything in a quirky manner, she has accurately highlighted the complications faced by people when it comes to marriages in general.

Complications

The issue with the residents of Prem Gali is that everyone is so bound by the opinions of one another that despite wanting to, they can not break free from the chains & do what they feel is right. As much as I loved how Shireen was dealing with this entire scenario, it boiled down to the point that in the end, she actually was putting a lot of pressure on herself because she didn’t want people to gossip about Joya. As a mother & a conservative one at that, Shireen has worked really hard on her image & has done her best to not give people a reason to talk unnecessarily about her or her family, this is why she was now being conscious.

When you look at Shireen, you feel that out of all the people, she’d be the one who wouldn’t care what others think because she is a self-made woman, she is financially independent & has lived life on her own terms but when it comes to Joya & her motherhood in general, it shows that deep down, her divorce has actually made her one-dimensional where despite everything, she feels she has to comply with the standards set by everyone. Although Shireen has experienced life differently, she still has not brought herself to have acceptance of the fact that it is perfectly alright for two individuals to fall in love & get married.

Prem Gali Episode 11 Story Review - Confusions & Complications

Joya’s predicament in this entire episode was quite funny, she knew she had to walk on eggshells & when Shireen shared her concerns with her, the expression Joya gave was really cute. In all of this, I feel Joya & Shireen’s relationship has actually strengthened. At first, Shireen did come across as a very strict mother but now it seemed she was doing the best she could to make sure Joya stays happy, although she didn’t really pay much heed to the fact whether Joya likes Hamza or not but by picking him out of all the guys she saw for Joya went to show that she was trying to make the best decision possible.

I must say the transformation Fari showed after her marriage in terms of styling, hair & makeup was really nice. She actually looked like a happy newly wedded girl. It was actually quite amusing how everyone such as Nargis, Tau Hidayat, Mateen, Haseena & even Fari was concerned that Joya shouldn’t be forced into the marriage. Faiza Iftikhar has yet again, in a light-hearted manner showed how people raise unnecessary concerns & try to nitpick in seemingly simple & uncomplicated scenarios.

I was kind of happy that Shireen didn’t really bother much about their concerns & tried to talk all of them out of those but who knew that in the end, Musarrat would force Shireen to second guess herself. This is yet another instance where the writer has tried to show how deep-rooted superstitions are in people’s minds in general where instead of looking at the brighter side, they always always always think about the worst-case scenarios. In this case, now when Shireen actually didn’t have any reason to doubt Hamza or even his family, she was forced to think about the fact that none of the women of Chaudhry & Son’s family survived, so it would mean that she was putting Joya’s life in danger.

Prem Gali Episode 11 Story Review - Confusions & Complications

The excitement that Hamza’s grandfather showed was really cute. He was genuinely happy, Hamza was over the moon, Luqman was skeptical & Hatim couldn’t help but calculate the expenses. His idea of getting them married as soon as possible was hilarious, he obviously wanted to save the Eidis but it was nice that Hamza’s grandfather was going out of the way for Joya. Luqman’s concerns were amusing too, it is like he too has conditioned his brain to look for the conspiracies & when he actually can’t find any, he still believes he will stumble upon them.

Interesting Episode

This episode of Prem Gali was really interesting for the fact that the writer continued to show how superstitions or just the wrong approach, in general, create further confusion & misunderstandings. The suggestion Shireen put forth, in the end, was so befitting her character, she is so used to controlling her daughter’s life that she was actually having a hard time letting go of the ownership she has over Joya, therefore she thought this was the best idea she could come up with. It was nice to see Shireen appreciating the open-mindedness of Hamza’s family where they didn’t actually bother about the divorce rate of her family. It also goes to show that in such issues, men are usually not very conscious & read between the lines. As much as Chaudhry & sons put Shireen’s heart at ease, she ended up ruining it, which shows that women, in general, think about worst-case scenarios a lot more.

Anoushay Abbasi looked gorgeous in this episode. Sohai was really nice too, however, I must say that I find it funny when with a full face of makeup, Joya’s character speaks about ‘Thora sa tayar kar dena, halka sa makeup kar dena’. It was mentioned in some of the previous episodes too & in this one as well, which I find funny because she already is so glammed-up that there’s no need for the slightest of touch-ups even. Farhan Saeed, Abdullah Farhat, Waseem Abbas & Qavi Khan were right in their element. I like the chemistry that all the characters share, it kind of depicts that as family members, they all are so much at ease with one another – same’s the case with Shireen & Co. Prem Gali Episode 10 Story Review – Chaos

Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali showed the problems a couple faces when so many people around don’t hold back in voicing their opinions. It was one misunderstanding after another & it was brilliantly shown by the writer how easy it is for the simplest of matters to get complicated because people feel entitled to put their thoughts across, even in the matters that do not concern them. After watching this episode, I felt that the residents of Prem Gali might stand divided but it seems they all will join hands against Chaudhry & Sons. It is obvious that Hamza & Joya won’t get married just so easily, therefore we should expect a lot more drama before that happens.

Proposal & The Aftermath

In this episode, what I found interesting was that although the neighbors thought they were coming from a good place, a place of concern for both Joya & Hamza, their thinking & perspective, on the whole, wasn’t beneficial at all. It shows that after living together in one neighborhood, the lines have been blurred & people find it hard to keep their opinions to themselves. The residents of Prem Gali run high on emotions & feel passionate about almost everything, this is why they took it to their hearts to make sure that Joya & Hamza do not get married.

I absolutely enjoyed how Rahat pitched in the idea of Hamza in Shireen’s mind. I really didn’t think that Shireen would settle for this proposal just so easily, considering how picky she has been but she absolutely didn’t have any objections with Hamza. I am pretty sure there’s more to it, this is exactly why the writer has started a conversation about how parents see their daughters as ‘bojh’. The way Shireen is being hasty & restless goes to show that she really wants to get over with this responsibility she feels burdened with. However, it seems as the time will progress, she will start second-guessing herself & will realize that getting her daughter married for the wrong reasons is not the wise decision that she is making. I feel all the problems that the neighbors are creating are going to serve as an eye-opener for Shireen as well because it will force her to think things through & probably change her approach towards Joya’s marriage.

Prem Gali Episode 10 Story Review - Chaos

It is interesting how all the men of Chaudry & son’s feel so passionately about one thing or the other. They all have strong opinions & at times think one-dimensionally about what they come across. Luqman is adamant that he would not let any girl get married if he feels she is in love with someone else. Previously it was Fari & now he felt the same way about Joya. He wasn’t wrong in his assumption though & he actually read her body language accurately that she actually was involved with someone, this is why she would feel shy seeing her beloved’s messages on the phone. Hatim on the other hand feels passionately about finances & can’t stop finding ways of cutting the corners. Their father loves going with the flow & because he is so bored, he can not wait for some adventures, some break, some bring change in his life, this is why he gets excited thinking about Hamza’s wedding.

Throughout this episode, Hamza’s eagerness & efforts were worth noticing & thoroughly entertaining. He can’t wait to get married to Joya but he understands that he has to put up an act to prevent himself from facing complications. I also like how despite all of them not wanting to, things become so chaotic in the all-boys house. They all end up fighting over petty issues & things blow out of proportion. It is also mean but amusing how Hatim & his father have literally made a joke out of Luqman’s emotional trauma & the fact that his wife passed away. Those one-liners are actually quite funny.

Prem Gali Episode 10 Story Review - Chaos

Joya was excited & Sohai Ali Abro showcased the emotional state of Joya beautifully. In this episode, I can actually say that I liked seeing Sohai as Joya because she was absolutely cute. She also couldn’t wait to get engaged to Hamza but deep down, couldn’t help feeling anxious. She even became overwhelmed with emotions when she saw how cautious her mother was, but then immediately backtracked because she figured out that there was another issue that her mother was concerned about. It was like a rollercoaster ride of emotions that both Joya & Hamza were going through but on the surface, they knew they had to carry a facade so that no one can find out the truth. Their antics & all the energies that they invested in devising this plan with the help of Rahat was so enjoyable to see.

Fun Episode

This episode of Prem Gali was yet another favorite episode of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed all the conversations that took place. Also, the collaboration of a Punjabi & Urdu speaking family, their concerns about each other’s vocabularies & mannerisms, it was beautifully tackled by Faiza Iftikhar. It also showed how each & every setup, background & culture has its own beauty & richness that leaves an impact in their lives. The Punjabi Chaudhry & Sons couldn’t really do much about the Punjabi-ness they embodied & the Urdu speaking family of Shireen couldn’t help but feel offended at some of the words used wrongly for them. In the end, all the things that Rahat said about how none of it actually mattered were beautiful, because it’s the emotion of love & respect that keeps one happy.

In this episode, all the actors and the supporting cast played their roles to perfection, however, I personally loved the performances of Sohai Ali Abro & Farhan Saeed. Waseem Abbas, Abdullah Farhat & Saba Hameed were natural too. Shamim Hilali’s sass as Rahat & Qavi Khan’s energy is entertaining to watch. Definitely looking forward to the next episode. Prem Gali Episode 1 Story Review – Refreshing Story & Characters

Ohkay so, written by Faiza Iftikhar, directed by Qasim Ali Mureed & produced by Six Sigma Plus; Prem Gali is a romantic comedy that is going to air on Mondays on ARY Digital. It started airing last night & the first episode introduced a whole lot of characters that the story is going to revolve around. It is mostly going to be about the dynamics of Prem Gali where all the families reside. The first episode was quite refreshing because when it comes to Faiza Iftikhar, she most certainly knows how to write romantic comedies. It was evident throughout the episode & the first episode was happening enough to get the viewers excited for the rest of the drama.

Cast & Characters

Prem Gali is an enclosed neighborhood where each and every family is acquainted with one another. In the very first episode, 3 families were introduced. Rahat (Shamim Halali), a widow who resides with her two divorced daughters Shireen (Saba Hameed) & Musarrat (Uzma Hassan). Shireen has a daughter Joya (Sohai Ali Abro) & she happens to be the in-charge of the family. Shireen runs a grocery store, Musarrat is a teacher & Joya is a college student. Rahat is a TV buff who takes her TV programs & dramas quite seriously! Also, I couldn’t help but notice the humor in their names – Shireen is so not Shireen in behavior & Musarrat is so not a Musarrat soul. I saw what Faiza Iftikhar did there!

Prem Gali Episode 1 Story Review - Refreshing Story & Characters

Haseena (Farah Shah) is another widow, who is also a matchmaker & a landlady. Haseena’s daughter Fari (Anoushay Abbasi) runs a beauty parlor & her son Salman is into bodybuilding & also quite inspired by Salman Khan it seems. He has yet to make an entry but he did get a decent introduction because I am kind of intrigued to find out who he actually is!

Haseena has appointed new tenants & they’re a family of 4 men. Dada Jaan (Qavi Khan), along with his two sons Hatim Chaudhry (Waseem Abbas), Luqman (Farhat Abdullah) & grandson Hamza (Farhaan Saeed) has just moved to Prem Gali & are now getting used to how things roll in this neighborhood. Because they’re a family of 4 men, people already have some inhibitions, especially Shireen’s family. Hatim is very much into astrology & he makes his moves based on what his horoscopes say. Luqman is an introvert & is a fan of sad songs. Hamza is your typical guy-next-door who is smitten by Joya. It is a perfect case of love-at-first-sight & it seems Joya too has started noticing his presence.

Prem Gali Episode 1 Story Review - Refreshing Story & Characters

The other three independent characters who also made an appearance were Sanata, a boy who assists Shireen at her grocery shop. Nargis (Uzma Gillani) who also happens to be a teacher & Nusrat’s colleague at school, is rich when it comes to facial hair & that’s what surprises Fari too. Tau Hidayat (Ashraf Khan) is a practicing Muslim & takes his job of giving ‘Hidayat’ to the younger generation very seriously.

Prem Gali Episode 1 Story Review - Refreshing Story & Characters

Dynamics & Setting

The first episode of Prem Gali was fun to watch & quite refreshing. The dialogues were humorous & conveyed a great deal about the kind of mindset all the characters have. It was also noticeable that despite being neighbors for so long, each one of them had one thing or the other to say about one another. Haseena has strong opinions about Rahat’s family, similarly, Rahat’s family also doesn’t shy away from sharing what they feel about Haseena & her decisions. At the moment, Haseena is in the limelight & the entire responsibility lies on her because she is the landlady & she has brought the 4 men in the neighborhood as her tenants.

The thing that stood out the most for me was how they had shown all the women doing one thing or the other to run their families. It is safe today that Prem Gali is a female-dominated society & no one dares say a word against them, especially Shireen & her family because of the kind of personality she has. Shireen is blunt & straightforward, she doesn’t believe in beating around the bush because she already has a lot on her plate. Shireen & Musarrat both have experienced divorce but it was interesting to note that the divorce & the responsibility of being a single-parent made Shireen stronger. Where when it comes to Musarrat, her divorce has had a completely different impact on her & she has turned into a tragedy-queen. I mean who doesn’t feel for Musarrat even at the initial stages of the drama because she is so ridden by misfortune that she doesn’t even get alu in her samosa! Sigh!

Prem Gali Episode 1 Story Review - Refreshing Story & Characters

Fari is running her parlor but she too wants to get settled. It seems she has been rejecting quite a few proposals because she too is waiting for her Mr. Right. Joya & Fari are friends & they both share the same mental wavelength. There was frankness between them but there was also empathy & certain lines that they know shouldn’t be crossed. Joya comes from a broken family, therefore she is a little sensitive, however, she too takes after Shireen because there were a lot of instances where she was blunt as well. The bickering, the arguments & one-liners immediately set the mood & was enough to show the kind of humor I as a viewer can expect from Prem Gali.

Hamza & Joya’s beginning was typical in a sense of how it always usually happens. The prettiest girl in the neighborhood gets the attention of the boy who has moved in recently. They have a couple of interactions & that sets the tone for them to notice each other. Their scenes were cute & the characters were even better. Although the neighborhood dynamics have been seen before, what sets Prem Gali apart for me is that for a change, we’ll be getting to see males residing in a female-dominated vicinity & obviously, that is going to be quite interesting.

A Refreshing Beginning

The very first episode of Prem Gali had a lot to offer. The way the characters were introduced & the dynamics were explained was quite interesting & to the point. I must commend the set-designers especially for bringing so much character in all the houses that were seen in the first episode. I couldn’t help but notice all the spaces & really liked all the aesthetics of each home. If this is the beginning, I can’t even begin to imagine what’s more in store for us.

I really liked Tau Hidayat & his dialogues. This is what you call making an impact in such a limited screen-time. I am also looking forward to Dada Jaan’s character. Waseem Abbas as Hatim was as usual impressive. Sohai Ali Abro & Farhaan Saeed were at their usual best. In the initial few scenes, I did feel everything was a little exaggerated but as the episode progressed, that feeling went away. The star of the episode for me definitely was Saba Hameed. I can’t wait to see Shireen’s story & her entire track. Saba Hameed also does justice to such substantial characters, therefore this performance was exactly what’s expected from an actor of her caliber. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her play Shireen’s character. Her styling, hair, makeup, body language & dialogue delivery, each & everything was spot on. Uzma Hassan was so much fun as Musarrat, although she is playing a tragedy-queen, only Uzma Hassan can make it look this cute! I felt the ending of the episode was abrupt but it obviously keeps you looking forward to more. The usage of OST was just right. The direction was perfect. Really liked the initial aerial shots as well as the focus on how the day to day life in Prem Gali unfolded. Let’s see what comes next. Please share your thoughts about the very first episode of Prem Gali, which of the dialogues were your favorite that made you laugh? Share it all.

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – The End!

Ohkay so, my favorite drama of the recent times came to an end tonight. I am so glad that without dragging things further & without wasting much time, they wrapped the drama nicely. I am glad to know that there are still such drama-makers who do not believe in stretching the drama to a point where they can attain the most profits through the ratings & do not care about the viewers losing interest in the drama. They showed us everything that we wanted to see & just when we felt that the story should reach its conclusion, it did & for that I thank the team of Preet Na Kariyo Koi with all my heart.

So, Noori decided to go ahead with what Roomi planned for her but little did she know that even if she hadn’t taken such extreme measures, everyone else would still be favoring her because they supported her. Noori was anxious because her mother didn’t give her a chance to share what she wanted to. I loved the scene between Shagufta & Noori where Shagufta deliberately walked out of the room because she felt weak & didn’t have any courage left to face Noori. I loved how at this stage, after so much of suffering they showed that Shagufta learnt her lesson & regretted loving Shams because she didn’t get anything in return. Like now when Shagufta complained, it seemed genuine & didn’t make her look like an ungrateful person because it took a lot for her to feel that way. Like I have said before, the concerns Shagufta had & the objection she raised against Roomi were understandable because she never got the life she imagined & she was forced to face the reality. Shagufta suffered a lot & that is why, she was pushed to a limit where she started looking like a cruel mother who didn’t believe in her daughter’s choices. It was only Shagufta’s inhibition that forced her to not see how suitable Roomi was for Noori. Shagufta was too afraid because of her own experiences that she didn’t even consider it a possibility that Roomi can be heaps better than Shams. I felt for Shagufta that being someone who lived for the sake of love, the idea of a love marriage became so daunting that it put a kibosh on her thinking capacity & made her do things she never would’ve done if she had gotten the love she herself dreamed of.

Collage 01

I really really liked how each & everyone gathered in order to help Noori. It was like they all could see the reality that Shagufta was skeptical & her bitter personal experience with Shams forced her to act irrationally. The way Zareena tried to help Noori was sweet too. It was good too see that at least Noori got someone whom she could confide in & Zareena ended up being that person who gave Noori the confidence that her decision was right & she made the right choice. I loved when Zareena told Noori that she should marry someone who loves her & not the one whom she loves. I so wish Shagufta could’ve seen that too but her fear & regret got the best of her.

Bhola’s twist was interesting but it could’ve stopped at a point where he wanted to help Roomi & Noori because he wanted to get a revenge for his father’s death from his sister. In one way Bhola tried to get back at Shagufta & teach her a lesson but on the other he ended up helping her indirectly by making Noori feel guilty about her decision. I felt that Bhola will get his closure after helping Roomi & Noori but his half-way-there approach seemed unconvincing. Yes, I am glad that Roomi & Noori didn’t get nikkaofied at that point because that way the last scene wouldn’t have been this perfect but I feel he didn’t get his closure. Also, I think they should’ve shown a scene or two between Shagufta & Bhola where Bhola gave Shagufta a chance to say what she feels or even apologize & Shagufta should’ve found out how her younger brother stopped her daughter from hurting her. Bhola wasn’t filled with so much fury after all, which was just alright because throughout the drama we got an impression that he hated his sister but looks like he came to terms with it or learned it the hard way but I would’ve been happy if they had shown a few scenes of Bhola convincing himself in the previous episodes.

Finally, Shagufta got to meet her Chachi & the rest of her family after such a long time but then there wasn’t anything more to it. No conversation nothing at all. When I saw the preview I was actually looking forward to Shagufta’s meeting with her Chachi & Chachi’s mention of Roomi’s rishta for Noori the most but there was no conversation at all. It is like Shagufta never learned the truth about Roomi being Ilyas’s relative. Also, the episode ended & Shams was nowhere to be seen. He ended up looking like a paid audience in the background. I think he needed a scene as well where they had shown him regretting the fact that he put Shagufta through so much & acknowledging the fact that she did a lot all her life for their family because in the end when he held Shagufta’s hand, it didn’t seem complete & convincing. I think a lot of the scenes like the flashback of Ilyas in the initial part of the episode, then the maid & Zareena’s unnecessarily long conversation, also Zareena & Suleri’s meeting should’ve been cut down in order to give the coverage to the things that were actually important like Bhola & Shams’s thoughts & Chachi & Shagufta’s detailed conversation. Those scenes didn’t really seem important because they didn’t really fit in & if they had replaced it with the situations that actually needed attention, then this entire episode would’ve been perfect. My only complain is with this episode & these few scenes because considering the fact that it was the last episode, I wanted a perfect perfect perfect ending, but having said that, if I look back at the entire journey, it is beyond perfect. :)

Collage 02

I loved the things Suleri said to Shagufta in the end because I wanted someone to tell the exact same thing to her that she had an obedient daughter & she should’ve at least given consideration to Roomi’s proposal for the fact that he longed for her too, which Shams never really did. Shagufta got a bit too tangled in the thoughts of comparing Roomi & Noori’s scenario with the state of her relation that it hindered her from thinking things through. Shagufta did a lot to attain her love that too for the wrong guy but Roomi loved Noori as much as she loved him, which changes the state of their love completely & differentiates Roomi from Shams. It was good to see that Suleri intervened & took the right decision for this family.

Overall, this episode was good but it could’ve been way better but but but, the whole journey of Preet Na Kariyo Koi was like a roller-coaster ride of emotions. I loveddd the way the writer Amna Mufti wrote Shagufta’s character which had so much depth & detail. In fact, all the characters were brilliant but Shagufta Shehzadi takes the crown for being unique & different. Shagufta was the one whom you could detest & feel for at the same time & I really am glad that the writer made her problems very understandable & relate-able. She was forced to do things she would’ve never thought of doing but she never gave up no matter how tough the circumstances got & honestly speaking, in the market where all the shops sell roti dhoti dukhyaris these days, Shagufta Shehzadi came as a breath of fresh air. I thank the director Ehtashamuddin for directing this play to perfection & for making it a visual treat. The way he brought the essence of Lahore to life in this drama was amazing & also, the way he extracted the best acting out of all these actors was brilliant too. I am definitely signing a petition of Amna Mufti & Ehtashaamuddin’s collaboration once again because they gave us something absolutely brilliant & memorable.

Speaking about the actors who made Preet Na Kariyo Koi a treat with their perfect performances I will thank Hira Salman for doing justice to Shagufta Shehzadi’s character which I am sure no one else could’ve done. She was outstanding as Shagufta & I believe it was only because of her powerful acting & minute expressions that we all could understand Shagufta’s journey. It was good to see Ahsan Khan in a role other than a naqaam ashiq & he did a great job too. Rehan Sheikh was convincing as Suleri, it is like a done deal that no matter what character it must be, if Rehan Sheikh will embrace it, he will add life into it, we have seen it before & I am glad he gave it all to Suleri’s character this time around as well. All the supporting characters were written with a lot of detail & the actors did a beautiful job at bringing those characters to life too. Irfan Khoosat, Naghma Begum, Hassan Noman, Adnan Shah Tipu, Saman Ansari, Farhana Maqsood, Noor Khan & the actor playing the character of Roomi, all of them made this drama complete with their presence & yes, last but not the least, I will thank the writer for writing such meaningful dialogues & with such a beautiful usage of Urdu, all this while I loved listening to the conversation in Preet Na Kariyo Koi & was reminded time & again about what was missing from the rest of our dramas. I am so glad I gave Preet Na Kariyo Koi a chance & thoroughly enjoyed it, so thank you team of Preet Na Kariyo Koi once again. Please share your thoughts about this episode & the entire drama too guys & thank you for keeping the discussions alive. :)

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 18!

Ohkay so, this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi was amazing too but I am disappointed that none of the events took place that were shown in the preview last week because I was eagerly waiting to see all of that. This isn’t the first time when the editors have resorted to a misleading editing just to keep the interest in the show intact but they shouldn’t do that as those who’ve made it till this episode are going to follow it till the end too!

Shagufta finalized everything on Noori’s behalf & wanted to get over with the Nikkah ASAP as she could see that Noori & Roomi weren’t going to budge at all. It was for the first time when Noori retaliated & told her mother clearly that she will do as she pleases because she loves Roomi. Shagufta was forced to see a mirror once again where she could see herself in Noori even though she didn’t want to think about it. Suleri has helped Shagufta way more than she realizes. Shagufta treats him as her confidant but for Suleri, helping Shagufta means something entirely different. Even though, I am glad that the writer didn’t show any equation except that of a professional one between Suleri & Shagufta, but I don’t mind what Suleri feels for her. They are a bunch of loyal people…who’re loyal to a fault. Shagufta was loyal to Shams & similarly Suleri is loyal to Shagufta. I think at this stage, when the drama’s about to end, it is safe to say that Suleri wasn’t negative to begin with & he wasn’t how we all perceived him to be. He ended up becoming a strong & positive support to Shagufta & there’s nothing wrong with that. The way he admitted to himself that he never had the courage to let Shagufta know what he feels, it actually made me feel bad for him because of his unrequited love.

I really like how the writer has kept things so realistic. The way Roomi’s father told him clearly that he won’t help his son was quite convincing. Roomi’s father is well aware of the power Shagufta Shehzadi holds so it was natural for him to feel that way. He even suggested that Roomi should leave Noori behind & should try to forget her because he didn’t have much courage to fight with Shagufta but Roomi didn’t seem convinced. I think for a person like Roomi’s father, who has lived a peaceful life, it was totally understandable why he didn’t want his family to get involved in any controversy with a person like Shagufta Shehzadi.

Roomi decided to seek help from Ilyas & Chachi & they decided to help them too but then came Bhola, who had an entirely different story to tell. I didn’t quite understand why Bhola felt that Ilyas & Chachi lied to Roomi & they wanted Noori to get married to the one Shagufta chose for her. Bhola has spent his whole life with them, so he should be the last person doubting their pure intentions. I must say, in my opinion, Bhola’s character is the weakest because if we look back, I wasn’t quite convinced with his mature dialogues like ‘baji mere liye marr gai’ & his rage altogether & now again, I neither liked nor I understood why he spoke against Chachi & Ilyas. Also, the things Bhola said about Shagufta suggested that deep down he has forgiven her & he misses her, that is why he has stopped blaming her for their father’s death, which again seemed to be coming out of the blue because there was no development in this track or story to tell what made him come to terms with the fact & what changed the way he felt about Shagufta.

Honestly speaking, the way Shams spoke to Faraz’s mother about Noori & Roomi’s love affair was quite odd. I would’ve loved if Shams had told the same thing to her with an intention of helping his daughter but no, he only wanted to put Shagufta down & he wanted to pinch her so bad that he didn’t feel awkward badmouthing his only child, which made me detest him a bit more. To be honest, at this stage, I am not at all interested to know what will happen in Shams’s track because he has lost all the respect completely.

Well, Shagufta didn’t see it coming what she just heard from Shams. After so many years of taking those bangles as a blessing from her Chachi, Shagufta found out that they weren’t sent by her Chachi, but were snatched by Shams, from Mariam. It didn’t take her long to admit that this was a crime that Shams committed. The way Shagufta froze after hearing Shams’s confession was done beautifully. It was like she never ever in her wildest dream imagined that Shams would do something like that & would ruin that beautiful memory of her Chachi that Shagufta clung onto all these years. Shagufta kept those bangles close to her heart that is why they were sitting right in front of her, in her room, at her arm’s reach, which showed that they made her feel connected to her Chachi but Shams ruined everything for her. The way Shagufta spoke about her love turning into her punishment was heart-breaking. Yes, Shagufta earned it, yes, she deserved it because she found no flaws in a guy who hurt her father but, if we speak about loyalty, Shagufta remained loyal to Shams, if we speak about love, Shagufta loved him enough, that is why in this particular moment, I felt for her because she has been chasing a shadow & no matter what she does, she won’t succeed, but she deserves happiness of some sort at least!!!

Overall, this episode was directed beautifully like all the previous episodes of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. The preview seemed more promising & looks like we’ll get to see what we all were waiting for. Shagufta will reunite with Chachi, Mariam & Ilyas only to find out that Bhola & Roomi will take Noori away from her. I hope after finding the truth about Roomi’s family background, Shagufta accepts their decision of getting married. I can’t wait for the next episode already. I am so stoked that even after so many episodes have passed, this drama has still kept our interest alive to such an extent that we’re looking forward to what’s yet to come. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi.

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 17!

Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. There were so many elements in this episode that impressed me & like I have said before, the strong story telling of this drama takes you to the world of its own. I love how they are working towards the wrap up, this drama restores my faith in Pakistani drama-makers that we still have such people who know how to tackle a perfectly written script intelligently & precisely.

This episode was all about Shams & Shagufta’s take on Noori’s life. Shagufta succeeded in getting rid of Ameen but what surprised me more was that in stead of feeling embarrassed, Ameen tried to reason with Shagufta suggesting that there was nothing objectionable in his proposal for Noori. He didn’t see anything odd about marrying a 17 y/o, which showed that he was quite desperate to get a life partner. He might be an eligible bachelor for so many women out there but it was hard to adsorb that a man of his age was ready to marry a teenager. Everything that Shagufta told him was spot on, if he really wanted to help Shams, he could’ve done it based on the fact that they were friends, without expecting anything in return.

Shams was already frustrated with the way his life was turning out to be, where he only had to abide by the rules & regulations set by Shagufta but after Shagufta’s act of deception, he promised himself that he’ll get back at her. Even though Shams has come out of the prison, he still feels imprisoned because Shagufta doesn’t allow him to have his way & he isn’t allowed to take decisions for his family. Shams wants to feel what it is like to be in control, what it is like to be the head of the family but now when that spot has been taken over by Shagufta, the detest Shams feels for her is growing more & more & that is why Shams is now resorting to open retaliation, where he wants to let Shagufta know that she holds no importance in his life. The conversation that Shams had with his friend showed that even though Shagufta might think Shams can’t do much, he knows about Shagufta’s Achilles Heel. Shams is well aware of the fact that Shagufta will put up with everything just because she loves him. We all were waiting to hear this from Shams & Shagufta is also waiting to hear Shams say that he understands how much she loves him & he acknowledges how much she has done for him but even though Shams admitted to know about it, he said it when his mind & heart are filled with negativity & rage against her. Isn’t is unfortunate that the moment that Shagufta waited for all her life came at such a point where it is going to cause her more pain & distress? Even though Shams’s life is all fuzzy, he still has a clear plan in his mind, he now wants to get back at Shagufta & he wants to punish her for loving him, that is why he is now going to get Zareena back because he knows that if there’s one thing that Shagufta wants, it is to keep him in her sights & even though Shams is ready to give Shagufta what she wants, he wants to do it on his conditions now.

Even though we all can tell how Ilyas & Bhola will contribute to the story, I still am looking forward to the part they will play in Noori & Roomi’s life. I really like how the writer has kept them as a trump card because it will take something big for Shagufta to agree to Roomi & Noori’s wedding. Bhola still hasn’t forgiven Shagufta but Ilyas tries his level best to talk him out of the hatred Bhola feels for his sister. I found it really nice that even after finding out the truth that Noori happens to be his niece, Bhola still promised to extend his help to Roomi because he knows that Noori has nothing to do with what Shagufta has done & she doesn’t deserve Bhola’s hatred. Roomi’s mother still has some reservations, not about Noori but about Shagufta because she wants to know what sort of a background does Noori belong to, that is why she questioned Ilyas about Shagufta’s past. I loved the way Ilyas sided with both Shams & Shagufta, because he understands what love does to you. Ilyas knows the extremes Shagufta went for Shams but he didn’t want to put her in a bad light. It was sad that without even knowing Roomi properly, Shagufta rejected his proposal. I really thought may be Chachi will accompany them but Roomi’s father didn’t think it was a good idea for now.

I liked how Noori took a stand for herself, where she refused to meet Suleri’s family & also the way she clearly told her mother that she will do what is right for her. Shagufta needs to understand that Noori still has chosen a decent guy for herself & he is far better than Shams. I really really liked how they started introducing Shagufta’s family back into her life subtly. The first hint that she got was through the sketch of Chachi that Noori was drawing & it brought back a lot such memories of her Chachi where Shagufta mistreated her, also the mention of Shagufta’s father by Shams pinched her a lot. I really like how things are getting so tough on Shaguta that now she will be forced to realize how important her family was & what is missing from her life. I am sure now when Shagufta will reconcile with her family, she will cherish them more as she is already tired after fighting so many battles alone that now she is yearning for some mental peace & someone to rely on someone emotionally.

The preview of the next episode was so intense & interesting. I can’t wait to see Shagufta’s reaction when she will get to know that Roomi is related to Shagufta’s Chachi. Sadly, it is Shagufta herself who has forced Noori to take such a huge step but what I liked the most was that Ilyas & Bhola will come to rescue Noori. I can’t wait for the next episode as it is going to be very dramatic. I must say, the best parts about this whole episode were the usage of Urdu & beautifully written conversations. I loved the dialogues especially because they were filled with such profound & accurate Urdu that it was like a music to my ears. This drama leaves such a great impact because they have paid attention to such minor details, like proper dialogues & meaningful conversations. I must say, Hira Salman & Ahsan Khan, both have elevated the level of this drama with their phenomenal acting & they have given a perfect face to the characters of Shagufta & Shams. Their body language, their facial expressions, the anger in their eyes & the sarcastic smirks, each & everything is conveyed beautifully. The director for sure has done a brilliant job at getting the best out of these actors & I must say, the supporting cast has done an equally amazing job too by playing their part so so so well. This whole team has emerged as a power-packed package that has given us a perfect entertainment to enjoy & remember & I thank them for that. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi! :)

Ohkay so, even though it was an interesting episode, I am hoping that with the coverage of this aspect of Shagufta’s life, they are now working towards wrapping this drama up because we’ve seen it all & the frequent rifts between Shams & Shagufta should mean that the drama is going to reach its finale.

This episode only covered the clash of egos of Shagufta & Shams. Shagufta is now looking like a gullible yet obsessed little girl who can’t think beyond the thing/guy she likes. Shams has clearly grown out of this relationship considering how he didn’t get what he wanted, that is why he isn’t leaving any opportunity to put Shagufta down but Shagufta is either conveniently ignoring it all or she is a state of denial. Every time Shams utters something negative, Shagufta brushes it under the carpet blaming it on all the tough circumstances Shams has gone through. It is ohkay to love someone blindly, but it definitely is not ohkay to not see the reality. Shagufta actually needs a reality check or may be she has gotten one but is failing to accept it that Shams is not her idea of a perfect husband. The comment that Shams made when Shagufta showed interest in meeting her class-fellows went to show that Shams doesn’t trust his wife one bit & he doesn’t hold himself back in telling it to her face that he doesn’t think so highly of her. Shagufta was definitely taken aback by what he said but she doesn’t want to retaliate as she fears that he might go back to Zareena if Shagufta will give him a tough time.

Collage 01

It has obviously dawned on Shagufta that Shams wasn’t how she imagined him to be, that is why she is seen sharing her problems with Suleri more as Shams doesn’t match her mental wavelength & he doesn’t respond in a way that Shagufta feels he should. Shams is just adding more problems to Shagufta’s complicated life & they both have started competing with each other in such a nasty way that won’t benefit either of them. In all this mess, I actually feel for Noori because she is facing the brunt due to this competition of ownership that her parents have started. Shams thinks he is in control of Noori’s life & Shagufta thinks she is because she has done everything for Noori. There were a lot of moments in this episode in particular where Shagufta blurted out the truth about Shams regarding how he wasn’t present in their lives, how he hasn’t done anything for them, also about how Shagufta doesn’t want Noori to become like her mother & also how she wants to marry Noori off to a guy who is well-settled & can give her the security. I kind of understand Shagufta’s mentality where she wants what’s best for Noori because she herself spent a tough life that is why she wants to protect her child.

I really thought may be Shagufta will understand Noori’s love for Roomi but Shagufta clearly told her that he doesn’t hold a chance in Noori’s life. I think Shagufta is being unreasonable because she herself got married to Shams when each & every family member opposed their marriage. Shagufta not only resorted to lying but she manipulated the whole situation to benefit from it too. Shams wasn’t an ideal guy but Shagufta saw him like that, so she should at least consider how Roomi is like & what family he belongs to because that would make her realize that at least Noori chose a much decent guy for herself in her mother’s comparison.

Collage 02

Shams has actually lost his marbles. He is now ready to get his daughter married to a guy of her father’s age just because that will multiply his chances of getting back into politics. Shams thinks Ameen is far more resourceful & powerful than Suleri that is why he doesn’t find it odd to see him as his son-in-law. Shams really hasn’t achieved anything in his life but at least it wouldn’t been a great sight to see him attaining some basic common sense. Shams is just competing with Shagufta & he wants to make her realize that he has a control over Noori’s life too, which he clearly doesn’t as he never was a father figure to her, so how can he take such an important decision of her life? Yes, even though Shagufta is also being unreasonable, but at least she found a pretty decent proposal for Noori so as far as Shams goes, he really has lost his sanity & sensibility.

The preview of the next episode suggested that Noori will finally take a stand for herself & I guess she should because Roomi is a nice guy & far far better than Shams; someone for whom Shagufta hurt so many people. I liked the suggestion of Roomi’s father that he will ask Shagufta’s Chachi to come along, may be that will be enough for Shagufta to accept Roomi as he actually belongs to her family. Things are going to get ugly between Shagufta & Shams, but I wish they wrap this drama up in next 2 – 3 episodes because it will keep the charm intact & won’t be ruined by unnecessary dragging. Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 15!

Ohkay so, this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi was comparatively slow but still a lot such things happened that took the story forward. I really am impressed with the way this drama has been directed because no matter what, they haven’t stopped making the progress in the story which keeps the interest alive in the show.

Shagufta told Suleri what she wanted him to do & how she wanted him to help her, that is why Suleri came up with a plan of giving Shams a false hope so that he doesn’t follow his own plan of entering into politics. I think Shagufta doesn’t understand & she doesn’t even realize how much dependent she is on Suleri. Suleri isn’t just her mentor anymore, he has become someone who she shares her problems with because she feels he matches her mental wavelength & helps her the best way possible. It was only Shams’s case where Suleri held back but other than that, no matter what it is, Suleri always has stood by Shagufta’s side because deep down he knows that she is all alone & has no one to rely on. Shagufta clearly told Suleri what she wanted when it came to Zareena & Shams, that is why Suleri made sure Shams doesn’t go back to Mushtaq. Suleri really is a pure politician in literal sense of the word because he knows how to play with people’s minds. Suleri is someone who never got involved with someone emotionally as for him everyone was a pawn that he used but when it comes to Shagufta, he’s a totally different person. I definitely don’t want to see anything more in Shagufta & Suleri’s track but it is good to know that Shagufta has a support system because her own husband is just a liability & nothing else.

Collage 01

Zareena was sent away & Shams had no problem with it but before that, she left quite an impact on Noori because she felt bad for Zareena. The way Shams took his hands off goes to show how gullible he is & how he doesn’t have a mind of his own. Mushtaq told him to take Zareena with him because she could get him some votes, so Shams not only brought her to Lahore but made a statement in front of Shagufta by holding her hand too. Now when Shams got a hope from Suleri that he will try to help him get back on his feet, he deemed no problem in ignoring Zareena. I am not sure what to think of Shams’s character anymore because now it’s a done deal that Shams loves being a puppet & he trusts everyone quite easily which is purely his own fault!

I found it sweet that Roomi took Noori to Ilyas’s home. Roomi knows they are related to Noori so he just wanted Noori to know what her family is like. Noori was welcomed cordially & it was so good to see Ilyas treating her so nicely. The way Ilyas gave her some money & told her that she referred to him as her Uncle took me back to that scene where Ilyas gave some money to Shagufta’s friends because they referred to him as Bhai. Ilyas hasn’t changed & so hasn’t his mother. The love she has for Shagufta is still so strong that she still hasn’t accepted Maryam as Ilyas’s wife. I found it a bit unfair that Maryam has to face the brunt because the love Chachi feels for Shagufta hasn’t faded at all. Even though the meeting was short but Noori left quite an impact on Chachi as she reminded her of Shagufta. It was good to see that Chachi could feel an attraction for Noori because of her emotional attachment for her mother.

Collage 02

Roomi loves Noori & he knows that she loves him too. I find it really nice that despite knowing what a complicated background she comes from, Roomi is only interested in Noori & fell in love with who she is. Roomi’s conversation with his father gave him the confidence he needed & it was a clear cut approval from him as well. Roomi & Noori’s relation will go through a rough patch now that Shagufta has found out about it. I found it amusing that just because of Shams, Shagufta was falling short of her parenting skills as Shams is creating a havoc in her life & he is behaving more like a kid that needs extra attention & pampering. Shagufta was shaken that just because of her negligence, Noori got a freehand to do whatever she deemed fit. Shagufta may now understand that ever since Shams has come back into their lives, he has added more problems for her to face. It is so obvious that just because Shagufta was busy taking care of her husband, her attention from Noori got diverted that is why she was taking it out on the servants whereas she knows she’s guilty of neglecting her child.

Shams & Shagufta already are on a rocky track & Shagufta is finding hard to keep Shams happy as he is getting crankier as the days are passing by. Shams has grown insecure because of his uselessness & that is taking a toll on Shagufta. Shams has put her down enough already for her to understand that he doesn’t love her, in fact he never really loved her but Shagufta still is unable to see that. The preview also suggested that Shagufta & Shams will continue to have a difference of opinion but this time around the reason would be Noori’s marriage. Shagufta should know that when she could go out of the way to marry Shams, than Noori can as well. May be Shagufta wants what’s best for Noori as she knows that her love marriage turned out to be a nightmare for her, even though Shagufta may not admit it but deep down, she would never want Noori to have the kind of life she had, that is why she thinks getting married her daughter to a well-settled guy would be a better option. I am interested to see how Roomi & Noori will fight it out but I do have a feeling that Noori & Roomi will elope because Shagufta has yet to face the scenario that Mushtaq predicted about her daughter being the major reason of Shagufta’s embarrassment. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi!

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 14!

Ohkay so, this episode was quite interesting & eventful. Also, I find it really nice how they are now shifting the focus of the story on Roomi & Noori. Shagufta has a lot more to take care of but right now, she is only concerned about Zareena & Shams.

Honestly speaking, I actually thought that Shams finally came up with a plan & he set a direction for himself as he now knew what he wanted & he also had a motive he wants to achieve but I was actually taken aback by seeing that nothing of that sort happened because once again, Shams proved that he is very gullible & can’t do the brainstorming for himself. The way he showed up at Mushtaq’s place & the way he demanded the control over his property made me believe that he won’t trust his brother again but Shams being Shams completely forgot what Mushtaq put him through & that is why, just a simple suggestion & a few bucks convinced Shams that Mushtaq & his wife were on his side. Honestly, Shams really needs to pull his head together because he is someone who has gone through a lot, so it is definitely important for him to put his mind to good use. Shams is taking one irrational decision after another thinking that his family is his well-wisher while completely ignoring the one who actually stood by his side through thick & thin.

Collage 02

Mushtaq suggested that Shams should contest as an independent candidate just because he will get enough votes & support from Zareena’s family & just because Shams thought it was a great idea, he didn’t really think about the pros & cons. If Zareena really had that family support, they wouldn’t have left her on Mushtaq’s mercy just like that for 17 years while being completely aware of the fact that Shams was in jail serving his time. When Shams agreed to bring Zareena with him to Lahore & the way he took a stand for her in front of Shagufta, I really thought may be Shams was trying to maintain a healthy balance between his wives but no, he proved me wrong. He didn’t only have an ulterior motive of using Zareena, he shared his plan with Shagufta too. Shams is totally turning into a mindless person because once again, he only followed that Mushtaq ordered. I find it amusing that someone like Shams who has been deceived by his brother chose to trust him again. When Suleri ordered, he got married to Shagufta & now when Mushtaq ordered, he agreed to treat Zareena as his wife. Shagufta understands Mushtaq & his planning the most but she isn’t putting her mind into understanding Shams better because if she will do that, she will stop trying to hold onto him because Shams never loved her in the first place & didn’t really want to get married to her too.

Shagufta took her resignation back which I believe was a realistic move as she knew that she had to take care of her household & it is important that Shagufta keeps herself financially sufficient so that she doesn’t have to depend on Shams who is completely clueless & unpredictable. Even now, Shams thought that the money Mushtaq gave him were his but he didn’t really understand that Mushtaq gave him that much money to keep his mind away from the actual wealth Shams is entitled to. Shams himself is now dependent on Mushtaq financially so it was good to see Shagufta not leaving her job. Yes, Shams has the right to follow his dreams & chase after them but he needs to understand that where few things are meant to be, a lot of them aren’t. He really lacks what it takes to become a politician & the way he is putting everything on the line isn’t a smart move too.

Like I sussed before, Roomi & Noori are related to each other. Roomi’s mother happens to be Ilyas’s first cousin & as they showed, she doesn’t have a high opinion about Shagufta, which is why I am sure she will judge Noori in the same light too. I really really like how Noori & Roomi’s relation is evolving. First they became friends, then Noori started depending on him because she is going through such a tough time & she got a free hand to make the decisions because Shagufta’s attention has diverted from her, which is why she is unable to keep a check & have a conversation with Noori about what is happening in her life. Roomi met Noori at such a time when she was longing from a companion & a partner & they both couldn’t resist falling for each other because they understand each other too. I so hope for Noori’s sake, Shagufta shows some consideration & understanding because Shagufta has been through it all, so she knows exactly what a girl is capable of if she falls in love with a guy. I so hope things don’t turn against Roomi & Noori & the circumstances don’t force them to take a step that later their parents will regret because the things Roomi’s mother said, hinted about that sort of possibility too. I must say, I really liked the way Noori was welcomed in Roomi’s home, it was good to see her experiencing a bonding between a close-knit family, which is totally opposite to her family background, considering how she is being forced to accept her father’s first wife as her second mother too.

Collage 01

Shagufta is furious & can’t stand Zareena. She really doesn’t think much about Shams’s plan because she knows it is also a trap set by Mushtaq to keep Shams’s mind diverted, that is why she is not ready to accept Zareena. It is surprising that Shagufta depends on Suleri Sahab more than she depends on Shams even after he has come out of jail, because Shagufta knows that Shams is being unreasonable & just some false hope of getting into politics will keep Shams calm. Shagufta has understood that Shams doesn’t have a chance in the politics but she wants him to live in a denial as it will at least guarantee that he will stay by her side.

The preview of the next episode was very interesting. The focus would be on Roomi & Noori. I am so looking forward to Noori’s meeting with Shagufta’s Chachi. May be when Shagufta will find out that Roomi is related to her family, she will accept him as it will put an end to the estrangement that was initiated from her family’s side. Noori has a lot to discover about her mother & I think she will turn against her mother too after finding what she put her family through for the sake of Shams. I so hope of all the people, at least Noori stays by her mother’s side right till the end. I must say, Ahsan Khan looked very graceful in this episode. Hira & Saman Ansari have done their job well. Noor Khan is a perfect choice as Noori & so is the actor playing the character of Roomi. Each & every actor has given their 100% & the director should take a bow for directing such a beautiful script with so much of perfection. Last but definitely not the least, I will thank the writer Amna Mufti for coming up with such a brilliant piece of writing & for giving us something so interesting & different to watch. Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 13!

Ohkay so, this episode was interesting once again. I must say I am amazed that even though so many episodes have passed by, they still have so much left to offer. It is like a done deal that whenever the episode ends, I always look forward to the next one eagerly because I know they aren’t done yet & next episode will be as promising as the one that I just saw!

Even though I find it admirable that Shagufta is still in an awe of her husband & she still loves him like nothing has changed between them, but sadly, she is turning out to be a little gullible to think that she can’t live without Shams. Yes, she is bound to fulfill her duties as Shams’s wife because she chose him over her family & she loved him selflessly but unfortunately, Shams doesn’t deserve so much of love & attention from Shagufta because he hasn’t done anything for Shagufta & also, he isn’t doing anything for her even now. I really thought that after surviving without a husband’s support that too for 17-18 years, Shagufta would’ve learnt the art of judging people correctly but it looks like when it comes to Shams, she is still stuck at the same page & hasn’t moved on at all. When it comes to Shams, Shagufta turns out to be the same Shagufta Shehzadi who fell in love with Shams Syal the moment she saw him at the first day of college & she becomes the same Shagufta Shehzadi who got impressed with Shams Syal’s aura & personality.

Shagufta is leaving no stone unturned to make Shams realize that he is the center of her universe & she is nothing without him but as much as I find her attempts sweet, the whole sweetness turns into bitterness whenever I get to see Shams’s robotic responses. I find it very detestable that Shams is still in such a state of denial to admit that whatever Shagufta has now is only because she worked hard for it & she has earned it all because she was capable of doing that on her own. Shams is so deluded to think that just because he fulfilled some thuggish responsibilities for Suleri, he kept on showering success on Shagufta as she happened to be Shams’s wife.

Collage 01

The way Suleri treated Shams & the way he reacted to the news of Shaguta & Shams’s shopping spree was a clear indication of how uneasy & jealous he was feeling at the thought of Shagufta being with her husband. When Shams was in the prison, Suleri still had a glimmer of hope that may be Shagufta will succumb to the pressures & will find solace in Suleri’s support & presence but now when he saw that none of that sort happened, he was hurt & shattered inside. Suleri can now see that Shagufta is forgetting the responsibility she has towards him & their political party because she is getting swayed by the thought of fulfilling her wifely duties, that is why Suleri took the gloves off & by insulting Shams & giving him a reality check, he actually sent Shagufta a clear message that she is an important part of his political party & not her husband, an ex-convict; Shams.

Shagufta is being a fool to follow Shams’s orders. Considering how Shagufta has stayed in the company of Suleri & how she has been in such a field which is all about playing mind games with people from all walks of life, it is making her look like a bigger fool to follow Shams without even analyzing the situation on her own first. Just when Shams told her to resign, she showed up at Suleri’s door with a resignation letter in her hand. I must say, the conversation that happened in that scene & the exchange of glances between Suleri & Shagufta was done precisely & beautifully. Just when Shagufta told Suleri that loving someone means you have to understand them, the next thing she heard from Suleri was that he understands her too, which left her speechless & shocked because it was a subtle yet clear hint of the feelings Suleri has for Shagufta. That was one powerful scene with some power-packed performances by both the actors & I must say, it has to be the most memorable & favorite scene of mine from the episodes that I have seen so far.

It is actually saddening to see that even after Shagufta has done so much to assure Shams that he is her priority, Shams just came & announced that he was returning to Gujranwala because he belongs to that place & Gujranwala is his ‘home’. It is so unfortunate that even after Shagufta has done so much & she has stood by his side through thick & thin, Shams still considers his brother as his family & doesn’t care much about Shagufta & even their daughter Noori. Shams really is a man with no clue, no plan & no direction in his life. He is so blinded by his dream that he hasn’t put much thought in coming up with something else, like a Plan B in his life. Just because his dream of becoming the MNA wasn’t materialized, he suddenly thought of his property. Shams thinks he still has a chance in the politics if he’ll contest from Gujranwala but like Suleri told him already, his past record is faulty & will only be a hindrance for him but if only Shams’d understand. If there’s one thing that Shagufta needs to understand, it is that she is better off without Shams, not because she doesn’t need him in his life, but because he isn’t the man she thought he was. Shams has never ever provided for Shagufta, he was never present in her life, he never supported her & he belittles her every chance he gets, so it is a high time for Shagufta to understand that Shams was a liability, Shams is a liability & Shams will always be a liability to her. It was so immature of Shams to order Shagufta to resign, without even bothering about how she will fend for the cost of living & how she will take care of the finances. It was hard to see Shams laughing at Shagufta’s face when she told him that she happens to be an influential & strong politician. More than Shagufta, I feel sorry for Shams because he is making a fool out of himself & he is totally oblivious of it!

Collage 02

It was good to see Ilyas & Bhola. Looks like Bhola still hasn’t forgiven Shagufta & thinks she has put her husband through a lot of suffering but if only Bhola wasn’t so one-dimensional, he would be able to see that it was the other way round. I also like the equation both Noori & Roomi are sharing for now. Noori has finally found a genuine friend & she has started to confide in him. Roomi doesn’t know much about Noori but I am sure he will find about her more because his mother seemed quite updated. I loved their family set up too, it shows that Roomi comes from a very decent family, which is completely different to the set up Noori has seen in her life. Shams made me detest him even more when he showed no interest in Noori & didn’t even bother knowing about his daughter. He hasn’t made an effort & he doesn’t seem interested either. Sadly, Shagufta can’t see what her daughter is going through because she is so engrossed in the thoughts of making Shams feel like a part of the family & more like a head of the family. Noori isn’t used to the idea of being with her father, that is why she is feeling left out & neglected, but Shagufta can’t sense that for now. I find it hard to believe that it is the same Shagufta who could read between the lines, who could sense what her father was thinking & could predict what he was going to say. Shagufta was always good at manipulating, but right now she is allowing Shams to manipulate her which is so unlike her.

Overall, this episode was amazing & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say, I loved the directors approach at keeping the scenes shot & simple. Just a few sentences between Bhola & Ilyas were enough to show that Bhola hasn’t moved on & Ilyas still thinks of Shams as Gujranwala ka ghunda. Just a single scene of Roomi’s family was enough to show what that whole family’s like. I must say, I feel for Noori too & Noor Khan has done a commendable job as Noori. She is at such a stage of life where she shouldn’t care a dime about anything but she is becoming desperate & feels a mental pressure because of her father. The guy playing the character of Roomi has acted brilliantly too. He has been successful in giving a life to the character of a student who has no worries in his life. The preview of the next episode was quite interesting too. Seems like Shams is going to use Zareena to force his way into politics & Shagufta will be pushed to get back with Suleri once again. In this battle, I so am rooting for Shagufta, because if there’s someone who deserves some mental peace & social security, it is Shagufta & not Shams! Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 12!

Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. Honestly speaking, dramas like Diyar-e-Dil & Preet Na Kariyo Koi restore my faith in our drama industry because such dramas let us know that there are still such people in this industry who work for the sake of quality entertainment without making ratings their main objective. I feel more directors, writers & producers need to follow the examples that dramas like these have set because it is a done deal that if a story would be great, the ratings would follow & there won’t be any need left to sensationalize stuff for the sake of TRPs.

So, 15 years have passed & a lot has changed. Shagufta kept on following Suleri & Shams’s orders just because she wanted to set her husband free from the jail. In the meanwhile, she kept on taking such steps that have now turned her into one of the most influential politicians of the present time. It was so obvious that Shagufta never put her heart & soul into politics because just when the celebrations would be over, she would long to go back to her daughter, she would long to go back to her small world where she was just a mother & a wife with a hope who was waiting for her husband. All the name that Shagufta has earned is only due to the strategies Suleri adapted to strengthen his political party & to refine his party’s image too, because when it comes to Shagufta, she never was into it wholeheartedly & never brainstormed about anyways!

Shams came out & I loved the way they showcased his feelings & emotions. Right from the moment he stepped out of the prison, he was forced to wake up & smell the coffee, because he was now a nobody in the game of politics & was just being cheered upon because he was Shagufta’s husband. That was the very first shock that came to him & somehow it was a beginning of the reality that Shams will now have to face because he has spent a lot of years in a bubble & in a state of denial that he still means something to Suleri. I must say, the director deserves full points for brilliantly portraying Shams’s state of mind. Just the way he talked & chose to stay silent completely engrossed in his thoughts was a display of how he will need some time to get back to normal life. 17 years is a long long time to change & shake someone’s mind & heart, that is why everything that now Shams did was a sheer depiction of what he has been through. The trauma Shams went through was doubled because he wasn’t purely guilty in the first place & was getting punished for the murder that someone else committed, therefore, the shift in his personality & the bitterness in him pictured his current state of mind.

Coll 01

Shams was still a bit shaken with Shagufta’s popularity & was finding it hard to absorb & then came Mr. Suleri, who straight away refused to welcome Shams into his political party, shattering him emotionally even a bit more. It was a shock for both Shagufta & Shams but I think Shagufta should’ve understood by now that if Suleri had wanted, he would’ve helped Shams way back & her husband wouldn’t have to stay in jail for 17 years, but he didn’t, which was a clear notification of his intentions that he lost faith & interest in Shams completely. Shagufta tried to have a conversation with Suleri just to find out that he was in no mood to take Shams back because his party was doing quite well without him in the first place. Shagufta tried to make him understand that she did everything for Shams’s sake but Suleri once again tried to guilt-trip her that she is bound to pay the party back with her services because the party has invested in her a lot. I am sure it won’t be easy for Shagufta to walk out on Suleri because he won’t let her have her way, also it would be easy for Suleri to diss Shams because he is an ex-convict, so he will bring bad name to the party & Suleri will definitely use this card against him!

Mushtaq, his wife & Zareena are still stuck on the same page. Zareena is still hopeful that Shams will come back to her & Mushtaq & his wife are still bitter & angry. Noori & Roomi’s characters were introduced & I liked their presence, it seems that they will make things a little lighthearted. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that Roomi will be related to Noori, he might be Ilyas’s son or something but not sure because they didn’t show Ilyas’s baby when Goshi went to meet the whole family last time, but most certainly, there would be more to Roomi’s character & that’s what I feel. I also feel that may be Shams & Zareena have a chance now because Shams seems a little too iffy in regards to Shagufta. He hinted it clearly that if Shagufta had followed her Chachi’s advice, then Shams wouldn’t have gone through all of this, implying that his life turned upside down the moment Shagufta walked into it. Also, I do believe Zareena still has something left to contribute to the story otherwise they wouldn’t have kept her lurking in the background, also hoping for Shams’s bail & his return to her as her husband!

Coll 02

I must say, I am relieved that they showed Sagufta staying true to Shams when he was in jail all this time & she never let Suleri cross any lines with her, even after he tried quite a bit. Shams is a fool to not being able to see how much Shagufta loves him & what she has done for him because in return, Shams didn’t provide her with anything but Shagufta never let any difficulty stop her from loving her husband. It was actually quite sad to see Shams cutting her off & not showing any interest in her confessions or asking her once about how she managed living without him for 17 years. I felt bad for Shagufta when she tried to share her feelings & was stopped by Shams right away because he was pretty much done after telling how hard these 17 years were on him. I really really like Shagufta’s character in this regard that she made a promise with Shams & without even bothering about anything else, without even getting burdened with the world of responsibilities that she had, she loved him truly & selflessly. I so hope Shams can see what a perfect wife Shagufta is & stops obsessing over the thing that wasn’t meant to be his in the first place. Also the things Shams heard from the shopkeeper about himself should serve as an eye-opener to him!

The whole scenario where Shagufta was worrying sick about Shams while he roamed aimlessly from one place to another was interesting too. It made me think that it is highly unlikely that Shams & Shagufta will have a normal life & a normal relationship with each other. Shams is now someone who is only going to bother Shagufta mentally & emotionally. It also showed the insecurity Shagufta has, not in terms of how strong or weak her relation is, but in terms of what she feels about Shams. She has had enough & doesn’t want to see anything happening to Shams again, that is why she felt her world came crushing down because Shams was gone for a few hours. I wonder how long Shagufta will survive if Shams keeps putting her through this because when he was in jail, Shagufta knew he was safe but now that he is moving around freely, Shagufta can’t help worrying about him as she knows Mushtaq is still after him. I kind of feel sorry for Shagufta because she doesn’t deserve such a careless & selfish husband who is only worried about himself & doesn’t think about his wife at all.

Overall, this episode was engaging too & was gripping as well. The preview seemed interesting too because looks like Shams will now provoke Shagufta even more against Suleri & Suleri will tell her to take care of Shams. Shagufta will once again be torn between Shams & Suleri, which is going to be very interesting. I must say Ahsan Khan took the crown in this episode. He was phenomenal as Shams & depicted his mental & emotional state perfectly. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi!

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 11!

Ohkay so, another week & another brilliant episode. I am so glad with the pace that they have opted for because the subject that they are dealing with needs this much coverage to make things work. I find it interesting that they are taking a good time in showing Shagufta’s struggles & growth because if they had missed any of the event from her life, things wouldn’t have made much sense & would’ve looked choppy.

Probably, this is going to be the last episode before they take a giant leap & show us how things will change once Shams will come out of the prison, that is why they kept the focus on all the hardships & obstacles that Shagufta is enduring. It was a golden chance for Shagufta to stand by her stand because she was just in the initial stages of her political career but Suleri didn’t let that happen. Shagufta herself didn’t realize when she started letting Suleri control her like his stooge. I loved the conversation Yazdani had with Shagufta where, like a genuine well-wisher, he indirectly warned her about Suleri & his intentions. As Yazdani rightly pointed out, Suleri was at the end of his political career but he hit a jackpot in the form of Shagufta Shehzadi. Yazdani perfectly understands how important Shagufta is for Suleri because as he mentioned, like a true politician, Suleri was using Shagufta as a front-man to portray to the people that his political party believes in woman empowerment & is a true depiction of progress. We usually do see how the politicians use females to represent their parties to earn a soft spot immediately through them & also to connect well with their followers because the moment a woman shows up at any such event, people start considering her an ideal figure who deals with so much pressures just for the well-being of her followers. I really like how subtly they have touched the mentality of the politicians & Suleri is a perfectly sketched character in that matter.

Collage 01

Ilyas was disappointed at the decisions Shagufta has made & he met her to request her to choose another area to contest from, in the elections. I really liked how they showed that Shagufta has now started to realize & understand the importance of her estranged family. She always took her family for granted when she was with them but all of a sudden when they walked out of her life, it did take a toll on her emotionally & that is why the conversation she had with her maid went to show that she misses their presence in her life. Just because Shagufta has matured enough to understand the value of her family, she understood Ilyas’s point of view & shared it with Suleri. Shagufta knows deep down that she has done a lot of emotional damage to her family, that is why she didn’t want to cause more distress to them but Suleri didn’t let that happen. It was a perfect time for Shagufta to understand that Suleri is only using her as a puppet because nothing that she will say would make him change his mind. Suleri made his point very clear to Shagufta that she is not in a position to choose things for herself & no matter what happens, she has to abide by the decisions he makes. I thought may be this incident would force Shagufta to understand the things Yazdani said to her but she chose to stay quiet as her hands are tied too as she believes that the only person who can help her & Shams is Suleri.

I find it commendable that not even for a second Shagufta has held Shams responsible for all the hardships she is facing. No matter how much she has gained in her life, she has never let that get to her head & make a point in front of Shams that she has attained a lot of success in his comparison. I like this quality of Shagufta that whenever she speaks to Shams, she speaks with the same love & affection that she had when she got married to him. She speaks to him like a wife who loves her husband a lot, is still emotionally dependent on him & irrespective of what has transpired between them, she will continue to love him unconditionally. At least, Shagufta has stayed true to her feelings & that is why she is doing everything to help her husband but Shams is just being himself. He was indifferent to her in the beginning & got married to her on Suleri’s orders without giving much thought to his decision & now once again, the moment she shows up, he never asks her if she is doing well or how hard things have been on her. Shams is only concerned with the success Shagufta has touched because that still is like a dream for him!

Bhola got a lot of coverage & he has become a center of attention in his family. Ilyas feels bound to do everything to make Bhola feel comfortable because he knows how his Chacha treated him when his own father died. Sadly, the relationship both Ilyas & Mariam share hasn’t bloomed into love. They are just married & the thought that crossed Mariam’s mind told the story of how both Mariam & Ilyas haven’t reached that level of emotion that a husband & wife who love each other are at. Ilyas may not show it but he is deeply affected by how Goshi ditched him & held him responsible for the things he wasn’t guilty of. For Mariam’s sake, I so hope they show that Ilyas at least acknowledges the fact that Mariam is the perfect partner & was the right choice for him in comparison to Goshi!

Collage 02

It was sad to see how Shams once again questioned & doubted Goshi for falling short of her responsibilities. A person at that stage shouldn’t do that but then again, all these things will take a toll on a man like Shams who only dreamt of having a political career but hasn’t been able to materialize his dream. He has gotten weaker emotionally & somehow the seed of envy has also been planted because he is seeing how his wife is progressing, someone who never wanted to be in the politics to begin with.

Goshi has started to get over burdened with the baggage that’s coming with the territory. She was already emotionally hurt with the way Bhola treated her but Suleri thought it was the best idea to sensationalize it to gain sympathy. Suleri is just a typical politician for whom, each & everything that happens is meant to be used in order to attain benefits from, but all this is new for Shagufta & that is why even after the reporters questioned her about her brother, she never uttered a single word against him & in fact thought of getting back in contact with him to make him understand what she is going through.

Overall this episode was very interesting & the preview makes it look even more promising because they will take a leap of time & will show us how Shams will change the dynamics of Suleri’s political party & Shagufta’s life. I am so glad that after so many episodes have passed by, this drama still is interesting & makes us look forward to what more they have in store for us. I must say, Hira looked absolutely beautiful & graceful in this episode too & Rehan Sheikh has done complete justice to the role that has been assigned to him. His acting is top-notch & he has added a life to Suleri’s character. The direction was spot on too & so were the dialogues. Can’t wait to see the next episode already. Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 10!

Oh wow, this was yet another exciting episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. Even though the pace has slowed down, I absolutely love watching this drama because the story is interesting & intense, therefore I totally think that the writer & the director needed this pace to take the things forward. I also believe that the dialogues have been written intelligently because the note at which the episode starts, by the end it is justified what was said & they play along those lines as well to put things in perspective.

This episode was all about Shagufta’s growth & Suleri’s interest in her. Even though Yazdani doesn’t believe in going out of the way for Shagufta, deep down he is her well-wisher & that is why he believes in reminding her of her responsibilities & more importantly, what’s right for her. Yazdani wasn’t too satisfied with the way Suleri was showing interest in Shagufta because Yazdani knows his friend in & out, so he was sure that he wouldn’t allow Shagufta to choose a course of her life & complete her degree, which actually is something that she eagerly needs to get a hold of, in order to help her husband.

Suleri is a thorough politician that is why he only believes in seeing his own benefit, which is why before handing over such huge responsibility to Shagufta, he didn’t even think about her 1 year old daughter Noor ul Ain. For Suleri, his only concern is Shagufta & Noori is only Shagufta’s responsibility. The way they showed how Suleri played with her helplessness was quite interesting actually. He started off by offering her a favor & Shagufta accepted it without even knowing what was in store for her just because Shams ordered her to stay by Suleri’s side as he has a lot of faith in him. Shagufta was so eager that she chose to medicate her daughter just because she was keen to please Suleri so that he can do something for Shams.

Collage 01

Shagufta’s guilt when she returned home at night & the struggle to buckle up the very next morning was shown perfectly. Shagufta made a point to Suleri that she wouldn’t let Noori come in her way & this is exactly what she was trying to prove. Each & every one of them is dependent on one another, that is why they all are doing what is in their best interest. Shams has told his wife to be by his mentor’s side as he believes that way Suleri will always be reminded of him by Shagufta, Shagufta is following her husband’s orders that is why she is doing everything to please the man she thinks can help her family & then comes Suleri, who is only helping Shagufta because he knows she will prove to be a very important pawn in his political game. Sadly, both Shams & Shagufta are so blinded by their desires that Noori isn’t their priority anymore but at least Shagufta isn’t as guilty as Shams because she is doing everything for him whereas he is being unreasonable. Shams tried to put a blame on her for medicating Noori but the moment he heard that Suleri ordered Shagufta to leave Noori behind, he didn’t retaliate at all. Also, I think Shams himself doesn’t understand that he is needlessly pushing Shagufta towards Suleri & this is not going to benefit him at all. Shams seems to be living in a fool’s paradise because it was so hard for him to absorb that Shagufta has outbid him & Suleri has offered her such a good post, that is why he tried to leave an impression on her that she was getting everything from Suleri only because she happens to be Shams’s wife & not because she is qualified enough on her own!

So, Suleri had huge plans for Shagufta, he offered her to become the President of Women’s Wing, that too in such a short span of time, whereas, Shams worked with Suleri for years, but he only used him as a goon & never really believed in raising his position. Shagufta obviously was skeptical but just because she was following Shams’s orders & also just because she believes that Suleri is doing everything for their well-being, she chose to accept everything that Suleri offered. Sadly, Shagufta can not see that Suleri is in no mood to help Shams & he is directing all his attention only on her. Even though she has such a resourceful man like Suleri by her side, she still is alone in her battle of freeing Shams from the prison.

The whole scenario where Suleri kept Shagufta occupied while Shams was going through his final hearing was done perfectly. Shagufta definitely wanted to be with her husband to support him, but Suleri made sure to keep her busy as he doesn’t want her focus to deviate. Suleri has very cleverly used Shagufta’s predicament against her & in his favor because the moment he saw Shagufta was thinking only about Shams, which Suleri actually didn’t want, he reminded her that she has to have a strong back to be able to help her husband, which again turned things in his favor & Shagufta ended up agreeing to his proposal as she believed in his advice.

Collage 02

Suleri knows that Shagufta is very ambitious & knows how to use her brains, that is why he has created this bubble of false hope around her where Shagufta is now so dependent on him to believe that he is the only one who is going to help her & Shams, which definitely isn’t something that Suleri wants to do at this early stage of Shagufta’s political career. The conversation between Yazdani & Suleri was a clear evidence of Suleri’s intention where he hinted that the moment Shams will come out of jail, he will force Shagufta to take a back seat & this is why he is not helping Shams because he has caught Shagufta’s Achilles Heel & he knows that as long as Shagufta will stay in tough circumstances, she will be fierce & will ruthlessly do what Suleri will order her to do.

Shagufta’s depression & her defeat was given a proper coverage too where they showed that Shams’s life sentence took a toll on her but then Mushtaq’s message that was conveyed through Zareena sparked a fire in her where she once again picked up the pieces & made herself strong because she knows that she has a battle to win against Mushtaq & prove him wrong by bringing Shams out of the prison. Sadly, nothing in Zareena’s life has changed though & she is clueless about what she is supposed to do, that is why she is just being used as a messenger as no one sees her to be capable of doing anything else. I so wish, Shagufta had told Zareena to stay by Noori’s side while she was fighting for Shams, at least they both would’ve gotten some sort of emotional support from each other, that they both at this point of time are in need of.

Anyhow, I loved seeing Shagufta’s transition from a simple girl to a refined politician & this once again convinced me that Hira is well-suited for this role because the way she has embodied the character of Shagufta, no one else would’ve been able to do that. The episode ended at a very interesting note where now Shagufta is being forced to contest in the elections that will create such a scenario where she will come across her estranged family. The preview of the next episode seemed very very interesting & I can’t wait for it already. I must say, I am totally impressed with the way the director has executed such a powerful story & also, I am glad that the writer has come up with something so different & intense. This drama for sure is the best drama that’s airing on Hum TV these days. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi.

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 09!

Ohkay so, needless to say but this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi was intense, interesting, engaging, gripping & everything. I totally enjoyed the way things have been taken forward & the way they are showing how much time has lapsed because through that, they are also showcasing the strengths & the weaknesses of all the characters.

I must say, I respect Shagufta’s character for the fact that she is fighting her battles alone. All the things that Zareena told her were grave but still not enough to shake Shagufta’s ground because she is one determined lady. Shagufta knows that no matter what it takes, she should never quit trying because at least she will know that she didn’t leave any stone unturned & did everything it was in her might to save her husband Shams. Even though Shagufta wants to make it very clear to Zareena that she won’t be sharing Shams with her, she still feels bad for her because she knows Zareena is harmless, has nowhere to go & at least she is the one who keeps her informed of what is transpiring at Mushtaq’s side. The mithai that Shagufta sent to Mushtaq was an open declaration of the battle she was ready to fight with him because she knows that the one who is her biggest enemy & the biggest hindrance in Shams’s freedom is her husband’s brother Mushtaq.

It was actually refreshing to see Shagufta emerging as an empowered woman where she not only made herself financially independent, she chose to educate herself that too in that field where she could help her husband lawfully as well. She seems to having so much at her plate but the way she was managing her life with her new born went to show that there’s nothing that would hold her back. At times, Yazdani & even Suleri had to remind her of her newborn but Shagufta made sure to let them know that her daughter won’t become her weakness & she won’t let her become an obstacle in her way at any cost.

So, it was made clear that Mushtaq was the one who did everything against his brother. I know it’s a random thought but I find it good to see a man of his stature & personality confiding in his wife because usually, such men in our dramas are shown to be bossing around their wives or if not, they treat them as doormats but here Mushtaq keeps his wife closer to him because he knows that she will do everything for him & will stand by his side undoubtedly, which shows that their bonding is stronger, I know it is awkward but I like the relationship they both share, haha! It was sickening to see Mushtaq suggesting a police encounter against Shams which would assure Shams’s death but it was a relief to know that at least the S.H.O had some humility & conscience, that is why even he kept on reminding Mushtaq of all the evilness he was embodying & I feel it was strategic that he shot a bullet at Shams’s leg in stead of anywhere else because he knew that it wouldn’t cost him his life.

At first I thought it was also one of Suleri’s plan to get Yazdani in contact with Shagufta so that she doesn’t go out of his trap but then I reminded myself that the one who made her meet Yazdani was Professor Khalid & he obviously had no connections to Suleri. It was a pure coincidence that Yazdani & Suleri were friends & the moment Suleri saw Shagufta, he was reminded of all the plans he had in his mind in regards to Shagufta. Just when Suleri ‘only’ referred to the work that he needed her to do, I thought he didn’t have any other agenda but he proved me wrong because he obviously is thinking on those lines but is waiting for the right time to put forth it to Shagufta. Suleri at least tried to push his agenda by making Shagufta lose hope & by weakening her emotional strength by reminding her of Shams’s 7 years of imprisonment & also by using her daughter’s name but Shagufta chose to walk off as she could feel where he was heading with that conversation. Yazdani is a lawyer that is why he believes in doing everything in line of order but Suleri is ruthless & he knows he has enough connections where he can take risks, that is why the moment Shagufta requested him to arrange her meeting with Shams, he made it possible whereas she kept on pleading in front of Yazdani but he was too afraid to help her. Also, even though it was good to see Ilyas, I somehow feel he should have tried getting in contact with Shagufta to know what she was going through. Even though Bhola pushed her out of the house, Ilyas is mature enough to not only calm Bhola down but make him understand too. Also, all the things Bhola said were too mature for his age & I think he shouldn’t get even this much screen-time too!

It was interesting to see that the case against Shams was weak to begin with & that is why when the S.H.O attempted to kill him, his case got stronger & Shagufta used it in his favor to get him transferred to Lahore. Shams obviously had his hopes high just when he thought Suleri wasn’t around but the moment he learned from Shagufta that she not only met him but was working for him made Shams dubious at first & then a little hopeless that even after coming back, Suleri didn’t do anything for him. Suleri obviously won’t allow Shagufta to go out of his sights because for him where Shams is just a ‘bekaar cheez’, she is actually a ‘qayamat cheez’, which shows that for Suleri, Shams was just like a mindless minion who didn’t do any thinking on his own but Shagufta on the other hand had brains & wisdom that attracted him to her in the first place.

I loved the way they showed Shams’s transition where when he was in Gujranwala, he was still hopeful & optimistic but when he got transferred to Lahore after the shooting incident & after not getting in contact with Suleri, he was emotionally low & was feeling defeated. It is actually unfortunate that even after so much has happened with Shams, he still hasn’t been able to read between the lines. Shagufta’s discomfort at working with Suleri meant nothing to Shams because he didn’t think about what Suleri might’ve said that made her come to a decision of leaving his job. Shams should know that if he would’ve been so important for Suleri, he would’ve at least paid him a visit once in the jail once but he didn’t do that which is a message in its own that Shams is no longer needed by Suleri. The way Shams inquired about little things & directed Shagufta to take care of her veil went to show that along with his hope, his trust in Shagufta is getting fainter too & I wasn’t surprised by it because Shams was never the one who would think things through & he has always fallen short of the logic when it came to such situations, so I am sure it won’t take him long to turn against Shagufta because no matter what she will do for him, in the end he will hold her responsible for one thing or the other, as a result of his insecurities only!

So, this it is from my side. I must say I loved watching this episode & it actually looked like such an intense drama that I was watching & not even for a second my mind wandered because throughout the episode, I was only thinking about what was going to happen next & for me, this is a definition of a perfect drama that keeps the viewers engaged. Also, I loved the usage of proper & accurate Urdu, where they didn’t just resort to the word ‘practical’ but chose ‘haqeeqat pasandi’, also they chose to use ‘police muqabla’ in stead of ‘police encounter’. These are the little details that are contributing in making it a drama to remember I feel. I loved the acting & I must say, Adnan Shah Tipu has done a commendable job as Mushtaq & so has Farhana Maqsood as his wife, they both have given a perfect face to the negative characters & their acting is just right because they haven’t over done it. Hira was amazing & once again, she looked beautiful, I think she should resort to the no-makeup look like this one more often because it suits her the best. Ahsan Khan did his job well in showcasing Shams’s predicament as well. The direction is obviously top-notch & I love the pace of the drama so far. Also, it was good to see them paying attention to detail by using kids of different age to showcase how much time has passed by because mostly in our dramas, where they would show the time lapse of 10 years, the kid would still be in sleeping in a crib & would choose not to grow up, so thumbs up for tackling it properly too! Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 08!

Oh wow!!! I am in love with this drama. I think after Sadqay Tumhare & Diyar-e-Dil, Preet Na Kariyo Koi is also the best drama that Hum TV has produced this year. It happens quite rarely that when I’m watching a drama, my whole attention is drawn towards it & this time around too, especially in this episode, the direction & the acting was so intense & top-notch, that I forgot about everything & couldn’t stop wondering what’s going to happen next & for me, this is a definition of a quality work which Preet Na Kariyo is all about.

Sadly, the world has turned upside down for Shagufta Shehzadi. I loved how they showed Shagufta’s struggles, whether they were financial, emotional or physical. Shagufta never in her dreams would’ve thought that she’d live a day like this where she will be totally uncertain about the next second that will come in her life. With Shams gone, she knew she won’t be able to do anything on her own, that is why she approached Suleri, then Shams’s family, then her own family, then Saima’s mother, then her friends & eventually her professor who ended up helping her getting back on her feet.

I loved how they showed that Shagufta felt trapped but still made every single move in order to bring herself out of the misery. Shagufta does understand that the problem that she is facing is not simple but even in such tough circumstances, she decided to do something about it rather than feeling helpless & hopeless. Suleri obviously didn’t want to help Shagufta at this point that is why he left without even notifying her. I hope that after this, Shagufta does understand that Suleri is someone who shouldn’t & who can’t be trusted because he only extends help to a certain extent & when he sees that he is not being benefited from it, he takes a step back. Actually, I was amazed at the way Zareena analyzed the whole situation & made Shagufta aware of it as well. Zareena proved that she might seem absent minded or oblivious of her surroundings, she keeps her ears open & perfectly understands what Mushtaq is up to. I think it was actually Zareena’s testimony that made things clear for Shagufta & she understood that she has to fight no one else but Shams’s family member, his elder brother Mushtaq only.

I feel all the things that Zareena said highlighted the fact that Shams is actually quite gullible & he doesn’t have a mental strength to think things through properly. Shams is quite emotional as it has been shown already, he makes decisions without even thinking about the consequences & this is exactly the reason why he allowed his brother Mushtaq to use him for his own benefit. Shams did what he was told to do by both; Mushtaq & Suleri but he never bothered about sitting back & analyzing the whole situation as to how they both were using him. I love this fact about the drama that all the things they showed about the characters in the initial episodes are now being brought back in different situations & it is making perfect sense. Shams believed in doing everything at the spur of a moment & that is why he has landed himself in a deep trouble, whereas Shagufta was shown as someone who would do anything for someone she loves, that is why she never once used Shams’s condition to seek sympathy & in stead, she kept on hiding the reality because she knew if she would speak about it, people will not only hold her responsible for her condition but will badmouth Shams as well & this is something that she didn’t want at all.

Finally, Shagufta found out about her father as well & even before she could absorb what she had heard, she was thrown out of the house. With her husband gone & a baby on the way, the last thing Shagufta wanted to hear was about her father’s death. I actually felt bad for her that the only emotional support she longed for was gone too & that is when she decided she had to get herself together & be strong because nothing else was working for her & the only person who could help her was Shagufta herself.

I think there’s a reason why they didn’t show the actual scene of how Shams shot Majeed. At first I thought it was because Mushtaq was fabricating a lie but later when Shams admitted himself, I still felt there was more to it that even Shams wasn’t aware of. I did have a feeling that the way Mushtaq was persistent & the way he was being pally with the police officer was all because he had a hidden agenda. I think it was very wise of Shagufta to get in contact with her professor. Even though she didn’t want to tell him everything, Khalid understood that she was in deep trouble & she needed his help. I think the solution that he & his friend came up with was perfect for her & was exactly something that she needed. I really like how they showed that there’s always a way & a helping hand if someone yearns for it. Despite the fact that Shagufta was skeptical, she agreed because Khalid showed a lot of faith in the solution he came up with & this is what we want in our dramas, we want them to show us the solutions & stronger women who decide to work against all the odds & fend for themselves no matter how dire the situation must be.

Overall, this episode was so engaging that I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. The performances were phenomenal & everyone did their jobs well. I loved the bits of Zareena & Mushtaq because their acting was spot on but but but, I have said it a lot of times but will say that again, I feel Hira is the star of the show. Her minute expressions when she gets to know about her father’s death, her attempt at lying to her professor when he is trying to find out the truth, she really has done a perfecttt job as Shagufta. I may not be a fan of Hira’s personality but I am sold at her acting & I think I won’t be missing out on any upcoming projects of Hira because she has emerged as a very strong actress & I like watching her on-screen. I must say, she looked absolutely beautiful in the no-makeup look, she has never looked so pretty before. The preview of the next episode promised a lot more drama where things will open up a little more about Shams’s case & Shagufta Shehzadi will emerge stronger & confident than ever. I can’t wait to see more. Please share your thoughts about this amazing amazing amazing episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi! :)

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 07!

Oh wow!!! I must say I am totally impressed with the script that Amna Mufti has come up with. It has everything ranging from emotions to drama to romance & most importantly the element of curiosity that remains just when the episode ends. I must say the director Ehtashamuddin has done a commendable job in directing such a powerful story because it actually needed this sort of direction to bring every character & every situation to life. Even though things are so dramatic in Preet Na Kariyo Koi, they still seem very real & convincing. I must say, I am grateful to the entire team of Preet Na Kariyo Koi for bringing such a powerful drama up for us. :)

Ilyas finally let the cat out of the bag in front of Fiaz & told him all the tiny little details he gathered about Shams. Fiaz obviously didn’t react much as he knew that nothing could be done but the only thing that gave him a little hope was the possibility of Khula that was mentioned by Ilyas. Fiaz actually underestimated Goshi’s stubbornness as he really thought that his child was oblivious of all the lies that Shams fabricated but his grounds were shaken when Goshi herself shamelessly admitted that she was well aware of everything. It actually broke my heart to see Fiaz suffering so much at the hands of Goshi & I fail to give it to her this time saying she acted immaturely. Goshi was only being selfish for the sake of her own gain & that is why, she didn’t even think twice before uttering such harsh words to her father who loved her more than she could ever imagine. As much as I felt sorry for Fiaz, I did feel sorry for Goshi too because she had no idea what she was going to lose. Goshi didn’t have a mother & the only parent she had, who would pray for her & worry for her was being sacrificed just like that because Goshi thought she was in love & her love needed her utmost attention.

Collage 1

The moment Goshi stepped out of her father’s home, I knew things would never be right for her & she actually was taking steps towards a life that she has never imagined. I actually thought it was wise of Saima’s mother to send Goshi away because she had already sensed that Goshi hasn’t married the right man & his background was a bit shady. It usually happens that when mothers come across such friends of their daughters who are involved in questionable situations, they make sure to draw a distance because they want to protect their daughters. Obviously, Saima didn’t understand the gravity of the situation that is why she wanted to help Goshi but her mother just exactly knew what she & her daughter would get into if they would agree to help Goshi by mistake.

The last resort for Goshi was contacting Suleri Sahab & just like that, he made things right for her. Even though Goshi herself sussed that everything that Suleri was doing for her & Shams was only because he must be having an ulterior motive, she chose to ignore it because she didn’t bother seeing the bigger picture & got satisfied with her short-lived happiness. Actually, I thought that it was only Shams who was under Suleri’s control but the way Mushtaq & his wife reacted when Suleri showed up at their doorstep went to show that he has a control over each & every member of Shams’s family. I think Suleri already has started playing games with the newly weds because just when Goshi asked him about Shams, he blatantly lied & said he had no idea where he was, whereas it was Suleri himself who told Shams to vanish into thin air. I think Suleri is quite far-sighted & that is why he told Shams to leave Goshi behind so that when she comes to seek help from him, he can save the day & be a hero in front of her & also to extend a favor to her so that when the time’s right, he can ask for a favor in return as well.

Honestly, I never knew that Shams would turn out to be such a puppet. Just because Suleri ordered him to settle down with Goshi, he chose to do that without questioning any further & he completely ignored Zareena. Shams himself isn’t being honest with Goshi, he might on her face that he fell for her but in real, she is just a responsibility imposed on him by Suleri that he is taking care of. I actually felt bad for Zareena because she really is in a difficult situation & she has no one who’d look after her. I think Suleri himself doesn’t see any potential in her that is why he didn’t bother telling Shams to take care of her as well. Also, it was heart breaking to see that when Suleri showed up, Zareena’s own sister started telling her off that Shams never belonged to her & also how she shouldn’t have high hopes in his regard, it showed that by the end of the day, it’s Suleri who runs things in their house!

It was actually heart breaking to see such a beautiful character of Fiaz meeting an end so soon. He died in a miserable state because he was so heart broken & almost lost that drive to live because he was hurt by Goshi. It was like Fiaz didn’t want to live because he knew he won’t be able to see Goshi facing any hardships in her life. Even though both Shams & Goshi share a very strong chemistry & the both were happy with each other, the way Goshi reached to that point didn’t allow me to enjoy her happiness. She was just being selfish & never once thought about her family. Goshi actually started living in a fool’s paradise when she saw things went her way so smoothly & that is why she didn’t even consider Zareena’s position for once & threw her out. Goshi always belittled Ilyas just because in her opinion he was a shopkeeper but why does she always forget that her father was a shopkeeper too & he earned a living for her through such simple means too. For her Ilyas was unacceptable but why didn’t she ever think that her father was the same too. Honestly speaking, I am interested to see how her bubble of self-proclaimed happiness will burst & how she will face the realities because then only she will understand that Ilyas was way better than Shams. It is interesting that Mushtaq has waged a war against his brother & I am sure it won’t end soon or at a good note & for that, I am looking forward to the next episode so eagerly.

As the preview suggested, things are totally going to turn upside down for Goshi & this time around, I am sure Suleri won’t help her too, even though I feel bad for her but after what she did to her family & especially her father, I think it’s just a karma’s way of getting back at her & soon enough just like Ilyas said, she will regret every decision that she has made so far. I so want to see how long will she be able to hold onto the ‘love’ that she thinks she feels for Shams after her life will become hard on her. I must say, I am totally impressed with the direction & also the acting. I think both Ahsan Khan & Hira have been commendable so far & they both have done justice to the characters of Shams & Goshi. Hira is emerging as a very strong actor & I somehow love her screen-presence, with or without heavy makeup, she is looking quite beautiful throughout the drama. It is too bad that we won’t get to see Irfan Khoosat anymore in this drama but despite it being a short performance by him, it was power-packed & stirred emotions every single time. I loved seeing him in Preet Na Kariyo Koi & now when the head of the family is gone, I do wish we do get to see Ilyas’s family every now & then. I must say all the supporting actors are doing a commendable job too & they are equally contributing in making this drama a complete package because each & everyone has a strong & unique role to play which is a rarity. Also, I think Rehan Sheikh has fitted the role perfectly & he is making Suleri look more intriguing & powerful! Full marks to the writer, the director, the actors & the whole creative team behind Preet Na Kariyo Koi, it for sure is a phenomenal drama. :) Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode. :)

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 06!

Ohkay so, I know I’d be sounding monotonous by now but each & every episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi keeps me engaged right till the end & the way the story is unfolding is absolutely interesting. I think it has been written & directed so intelligently that going by what has happened so far, we know that there’s so much more to come & even though we look forward to what’s in store for us, we do get to enjoy the moment we’re in at this stage of the drama. I am thoroughly enjoying the journey of Preet Na Kariyo Koi & can’t wait to see more.

I feel this has to be the most anokhi shadi that anyone has ever seen, in terms of the lies & deceit both Shams & Goshi planned on their own & also in terms of how they both got away with everything so effortlessly by fooling a whole bunch of people. Goshi still hasn’t stopped using ‘Ilyas-hurt-me’ card & I am sure she won’t give up on it anytime soon because she knows that it is working in her favor & this is something that compels her father to grant every wish of hers, as he is too guilt stricken for getting Goshi engaged to Ilyas who wasn’t sincere to her. I really thought that Fiaz understands his daughter but going by how easily he allows her to fool him makes me feel the opposite. Fiaz doesn’t know what Goshi is capable of or he is too naive to even conceive of the fact that Goshi can trick her father, the one who loves her the most & the one who blindly trusts her. I so wish Fiaz would’ve questioned Goshi at least once but he falls prey to every tactic that she opts for, which I feel is a bit too much because in the beginning we were given an impression that he could even read the thoughts that used to cross Goshi’s mind but looks like now he is unable to do that.

Ilyas found out about Shams after getting robbed by him but even though he got to know about his reality just in the nick of time, his whole family showed up quite late & couldn’t save the day but I am sure even if they had arrived at the right time, Goshi would’ve still turned things against them by coming up with one lie after another as they all are quite slow in her comparison & can’t really compete with Goshi. Fiaz could already sense that something was odd about Shams but I so wish he had sensed Goshi’s eagerness too & he had understood that it was Goshi herself who wanted to get married to Shams. Fiaz still believes that Goshi decided to get married to Shams because she wanted to prove something to Ilyas but I am not too sure why a father who is a businessman & deals with so many people in his daily life, is unable to decipher what’s running through his daughter’s mind.

It is actually amusing that Shams uses the love word in front of his friends to conceal the fact that his marriage to Goshi is just a well-thought move in his career. He did slip a word or two in front of his friend that Suleri has done enough thinking on his part but just when he was questioned, he changed the subject & made it look like he is getting married to her because he loves her. Shams is still a very mysterious character who believes in saving himself in the current day without thinking much about the past or the future as he knows that he as a mastermind behind him who is doing all the thinking on his behalf. The way Shams robbed Mariam & Ilyas went to show that he is so comfortable in what he does, but the moment he found out that Goshi is related to his victims, he did skip a beat which shows that he wants to keep Goshi in the dark too, which obviously isn’t a good sign!

Goshi really is a fool to believe that she knows everything about Shams but the way Shams lied to her & left her in the lurch goes to show that he isn’t even sincere to her as well. Sadly for Shams, Goshi is just an order given by Suleri Sahab that he fulfilled & there’s nothing more to that relation. I am sure more than Shams, Suleri will be the one who’ll use Goshi for politics as he is farsighted enough to see that she will prove to be beneficial for him & his party. I am sure during the times that Goshi has met Suleri, he has evaluated her worth & he knows that he can use both Shams & Goshi when needed.

It was good to see Ilyas & Mariam together but I so wish they do show us how their relationship is evolving & how they both are developing an understanding for each other. Every single time, the respect that I have for Ilyas increases because no matter how much Goshi pushes him, he never lets go of the secret that it wasn’t him who betrayed Goshi & in reality, she was the one who planned everything for her own good. There’s something very sweet about how Ilyas still wants to protect her as he actually respected her & despite getting betrayed, he hasn’t let go of the soft corner he had for her. Ilyas knows how to keep secrets & that is why, even after he knew that Goshi was equally interested in Shams, he put the blame on him that it was Shams who fooled Goshi just so clear off her name in front of Fiaz. Ilyas is proving to be a son that Fiaz never had & never could’ve imagined. Ilyas may be slow & naive, but he sure is wise enough to know the importance of the family ties & relations that is why he is trying really hard to keep everything intact & doing what it takes to prevent everything from falling apart.

Zareena really wants Shams’s attention but I am sure her life will become more miserable after she will find out that Shams has re-married & his second wife isn’t going to be easy on her. Goshi is ready to fight everything & everyone that’ll come in her way because she thinks she has found everything that she wanted because Shams is on her side but I am sure soon enough her bubble will burst & she will be forced to face the consequences of betraying her family especially her father in no time. I think Goshi pretty much understood that Shams lied about the bangles & that is why she was trying to put a lid on it but she is being unreasonable here where she thinks these sort of lies & incidents are supposed to be ignored. Goshi is well aware of the fact that Shams Syal isn’t a an honest person but she would be living in a fool’s paradise if she believes that he will never betray her.

Overall it was again a very engaging episode with so much going on & the preview was equally enticing where Shams & Goshi will go to Gujranwala & face new set of challenges. Hira & Irfan Khoosat once again outdid themselves. I loved how minute expressions of Goshi depicted the guilt she was feeling while lying to her father but continued with it as she knew that this was exactly what was working for her. It is interesting to see that she still has some softness in her heart but doesn’t let that overpower the drive that she has to get what she wants despite being well aware of the fact that what she is doing is hurting the people who have loved her the most. I am thoroughly enjoying each & every detail that has been covered in Preet Na Kariyo Koi & it is only because of this attention to detail that this drama has become such a perfect treat to watch. Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 05!

Oh wow! I must say, this drama is getting better & better with each passing episode. I really think that a success behind any drama is the quotient of curiosity that exists even after the episode ends & that has been the case with Preet Na Kariyo Koi since day 1 because I find myself looking forward to the next episode eagerly every single time. I must say the way the story is moving forward & the way little details about the characters are being revealed makes this drama a treat to watch & for that, I thank the writer Amna Mufti & the director Ehtasham ud din for doing wonders & giving us an amazing drama to follow through.

Goshi has once again proved that she can go to any length to get what she wants. She displayed a totally different face in front of Shams where she pleaded & explained to him with humility & sincerity that he means the world to her. Shagufta knows that Shams isn’t someone whose proposal will be approved by her father but still, she has decided to take that chance because for her, nothing is more important than getting married to Shams at this stage. Like I said before, Shagufta is the sort of a girl who can be at her best for someone she loves but she can be a nightmare as well for those who oppose her in any possible way. Goshi knew that Shams was bound because he already got married that’s why she approached Suleri Sahab (Rehan Sheikh); the leader of the political party that Shams is a member of, as she knew that Shams won’t be able to refuse his orders & he happens to be the only person who could get the job done. Shams was the only one who required some convincing because as far as Shagufta is concerned, she knew she could easily force her father to go by her wishes.

It was for the first time that we got a glimpse into Shams’s true nature where he clearly spoke about what his political careers means to him. For the first time, Shams gave away his secret that he can go to any length to protect his career in politics & that is why he wouldn’t even mind if he had to get married to Goshi because he could sense that she can cause harm to his potential career. Also another thing that convinced me about it was that Shams chose to use the love word in front of his group of friends just to convince them that he is only getting married to Goshi because he loves her, whereas what he said prior to this conversation suggested something entirely different. It was interesting to see Shams opening up a bit because so far his character has always been quite mysterious but this time around, we could actually figure out what was going through his mind & also the fact that he is very ambitious about his career & would eliminate any obstacles that come in his way.

Zareena happens to expect a lot more from Shams than what he has to offer. Shams left & didn’t bother speaking to his family or his newly wedded wife because he got a bit too concerned about how he can approach Goshi’s parent. He chose to seek some help from his class-mate & Goshi’s friend Saima. The way Saima projected herself in last episode, I really expected that she would stand for the right & wouldn’t support Shams in lying to her mother but she found all this to be quite exciting, therefore she became a part of the plan too. Shams thought that the only way to get married to Goshi was to lie to her father & keep some major facts from him. Shams happens to be someone who believes in taking decisions at the spur of a moment & he doesn’t believe in thinking things through. He did it before when he didn’t take a moment & decided to get married to Zareena within few seconds & he is doing it again where just when he sensed that Goshi can create issues for him, he immediately decided that he will get married to her too. Shams believes in dealing with the situations the moment they pop up, without even thinking for a second that all these decisions that he is taking are lifelong & aren’t something that he can think about or deal with later on in his life. I think Shams doesn’t understand that people are dependent on him & expect more from him because right now he is too focused about his career that he isn’t paying heed to all these people who are surrounding him. Shams might think that he is going in the right direction but the way he remains oblivious to the fact that the consequences can go against him makes him look a bit gullible.

I felt bad for Goshi’s father & Ilyas’s mother. Once again Goshi left her father with no choice but to agree to her demands & unfortunately, Fiaz had to do what Goshi ordered as he knows that she is quite difficult to deal with. Shagufta continued shaming Ilyas in front of both her father & his mother because she knew that this was the card that was going to work for her. The moment she felt that her father will take a step back from accepting Shams’s proposal, she used Ilyas’s name to convince him & remind him that she accepted his decision once & now it was his turn to pay her back. It was good to see Mariam but sadly she didn’t get much screen time. I really am keen to see how her & Ilyas’s relation is shaping up because it looked like she is doing everything to keep her family happy but her mother in law is still giving her a hard time & has not accepted her wholeheartedly. I really hope that they don’t cut down on Ilyas’s character & keep him involved in the story one way or the other.

I am sure Goshi doesn’t understand what she is getting into. She isn’t as far sighted as she thinks she is because if Goshi would’ve had a faintest idea of what people like Suleri are capable of, she would have never gotten in contact with him. I am sure Suleri is also going to use Goshi in order to keep Shams entrapped & he will use this against both of them because he doesn’t seem as nice as he poses to be. I have a feeling that things are going to get quite difficult for Goshi in the time to come because she has no idea what the life that she has chosen for herself with Shams would be like. In fact, I believe things will get difficult for Shams as well because where on one hand he’d have to deal with Suleri, on the other his brother might make things tough for him as well because it looks like his brother & bhabhi have an agenda too & they feel no shame in deceiving him as well.

The preview of the next episode was intense & happening. Once again, HUM TV editors tricked us into believing that Shams & Goshi will get married in this episode by showing such clips in the preview last week but looks like it will be happening in the upcoming episode. I really hope Goshi’s father; being a heart-patient would survive the lies & deciet that both her daughter & son-in-law have fabricated in front of him. I must say, Irfan Khoosat has portrayed the feelings of a concerned & helpless father to perfection & I actually teared up at that moment where he felt that he would collapse after Goshi’s final verdict of getting married to Shams. Each & every character has done complete justice to their characters & once again, Hira stood out for me in this episode, where she actually made her pleading seem heartfelt & genuine because it was her honest confession that forced Shams to take such a huge step where he is not thinking about the future at all. Ahsan Khan was brilliant in this episode as well, I must say the way he has worked on his body language & his expressions is commendable, he actually is a powerful actor but has made some bad choices. I hope that this project puts things into perspective for Ahsan Khan & he chooses such substantial roles in the future too. Please share your beautiful say about this beautiful episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. :)

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 04!

OMG! I must say I am in love with this drama. Honestly speaking, after Diyar-e-Dil, I wasn’t too sure if the drama that’s replacing it would be able to give me something to talk about but I am so glad that right from the direction to the acting to the story & the dialogues, everything about Preet Na Kariyo Koi is phenomenal.

The episode began at such a light-hearted note where Mariam got the screen time she deserved. She refused to accept her reward from Fiaz Uncle because she knew she wanted to have her reward her way. The thing I absolutely love about this drama is that with very precise dialogues, they give you an insight about the background of a character & what’s running through their minds. Just a single statement from Mariam was enough to let us know why she is level-headed & opinionated. She grew up without a father & brother, therefore she has been independent & self-sufficient, that is why in such a tight-knit community where everyone knows about everyone, she dared to be different & proposed her prospect husband herself so that she could convey her message to him just the way she deemed fit & in all honesty, I love Mariam’s character because she is all about honesty herself. I am sure she will prove to be a very good wife to Ilyas & he actually deserves someone who loves him & would cherish him for the rest of her life.

The thing I liked the most in this episode was the way they showed that neither Fiaz nor Ilyas’s mother were unaware of what was happening around them. In our dramas, most of the times they show that elder-lies are oblivious of what’s transpiring in their surroundings just to depict their simplicity but here the things are different yet they seem very genuine & relate-able. They live in such a vicinity where all sorts of rumors make place to everyone’s home, that is why Ilyas’s mother mostly knew about Mariam’s nature & her personality, therefore she formed a strong opinion about her in no time. I really like that they have kept things simple & not too explanatory where they didn’t feel the need to resort to some typicality showing Ilyas’s mother engaging in a dialogue with someone from her ‘mohalla’ who spoke against Mariam to inform her what her intentions were. It depicted the farsightedness of Ilyas’s mother that the moment Mariam came in contact with Ilyas, she could sense that Mariam had something in her mind.

In the beginning, I really liked how Goshi spoke to Shams & inquired about his health, I say that because Goshi showed a very different side of hers, which made me feel that she is capable of being considerate & selfless too & it also showed that just when Goshi will love someone, she will go to any extreme to do things for her beloved. The way Goshi is with Shams & the way she is with Ilyas; it is a clear depiction of the fact that if Goshi’s heart is in something, she can be just as nice & likable too, which I guess makes her even more real because in real lives, each & every person is like that, where they go to any length for the people they love & they can’t be bothered much about those who don’t hold a special place in their hearts.

The way Goshi got excited at what Mariam told her, made me think that she’ll give a very humorous angle to the whole scenario & will convince her Chachi with logic & reasoning with the important factor of love & consideration but the way she painted the whole scene with negativity in front of her elders made her look very selfish. Like I have said before, despite being strong-minded, Goshi actually is a bit weak when it comes to owning her decisions that is why, she decided to hold Ilyas responsible for everything & blamed his mother for not keeping an eye on him, thinking that this way, she will be getting a perfect alibi for being drawn towards Shams even when she was engaged to Ilyas. Very conveniently Goshi blamed Ilyas for the things she knows he isn’t responsible for & also she said all that with so much of conviction because she knew that Ilyas never had enough guts to correct her or speak in front of her. Seeing the aftermath of that conversation, I actually felt heartbroken because Goshi shouldn’t have done that to her family, especially when she knows that they all love her so much, she could have easily convinced her Chachi that Mariam is Mrs. Right for Ilyas, but her approach was wrong on so many levels.

Shams was seen lost & he took some time to absorb the fact that he is married. The way he spoke about Zareena clearly showed that he is in no mood to give this marriage a chance but he will take it as a duty & fulfill it because he knows how important it is for Zareena to feel secure socially. I loved the conversations Goshi had with her friend because she tried to knock some sense into her & tried to give her a reality check that she was better off with the decision her father took for her but if only Goshi’d understand. Her friend could clearly see that everything Goshi instigated was due to her affection for Shams but Shams has never reciprocated such feelings towards her, therefore she’s going on a wrong track altogether.

The thing that saddened me the most was that Fiaz lost the trust he had on Ilyas & sadly, their relation & equation will never be the same again. Fiaz felt cheated & he thought that it was Ilyas who wasn’t true to the promise he made to his daughter. Fiaz also was saddened because he knows that Ilyas is a gem of a person & he is the only one who’d be able to make Goshi happy but little does he know that Goshi’s finding her happiness elsewhere. Goshi once again tried to push her agenda & started blaming Mariam in front of her father thinking she’d be able to fool him, but I am sure her father will find out the real reason soon enough. I am glad that Ilyas found his happiness but I so wish they had at least given both Ilyas & Mariam a little screen-time by showing their marriage or some sort of conversation between them. Ilyas didn’t retaliate much because deep down he also knew that Goshi wasn’t happy with their engagement & that’s why, when he opportunity presented itself, he didn’t hold back & took the leap of faith. I really hope Ilyas’s mother sees the goodness in Mariam & accepts her happily.

Ohkay so, let’s talk about the confrontation between Shams Syal & Shagufta Shehzadi, oh boy, it was done to perfection like literally you could see that Goshi was fuming with the news of Shams’s marriage & Shams was caught off guard with such an abrupt reaction. Brilliant acting by both Hira & Ahsan there! He did find out that Goshi was in love with him but he didn’t let her honest confession divert his mind. He knew that he didn’t have enough courage to face another trouble, therefore he backed out, conveying it to her that he won’t fall for her trap at all. Well, the way Goshi attempted suicide wasn’t something shocking or surprising, because she is like that & she is so blinded by the drive of getting what she wants that she decided to go to another extreme to get it. The preview of the next episode was intense & I think Goshi will be pushing her luck where she will force her father to accept Shams’s proposal for her. I am sure things won’t be easy for Goshi anymore because she is bringing all the hardships her way herself.

I must say, Hira has really won me over. I never had a high opinion about her acting before & nor was I her fan, but her performance in Preet Na Kariyo Koi is stellar & it is so evident that she has given her 100% to this character, therefore she really has changed my opinion about her. I really hope that she stays true to her talent & opts for more such challenging roles without succumbing to the pressures of performing in dusri biwi sagas. Ahsan Khan really is showing his real talent in this drama where his body language, his expressions, each & everything about him shows that he belongs to Gujranwala. He really has carried himself well & is doing justice to this character completely. Hasan Noman is phenomenal & just the ‘gulp’ expression when he gets proposed was enough to tell what was going through his mind, I really think very few actors can convey so much through such minute expressions so 10/10 for him for portraying Ilyas so perfectly. I loved Irfan Khoosat’s & Naghma Begum’s presence & acting in this drama so much. They are a treat to watch & yes, I have never really liked Mira Sethi’s previous performances but in this drama, she really is doing well too. I must thank the director for doing such a brilliant job in all the aspects & for making Preet Na Kariyo Koi such a visual treat. I really give extra marks to the whole team for bringing out the essence of interior Lahore so effortlessly on our screens; those narrow & uneven lanes, beautifully carved wooden doors, kids playing in the surroundings, those electric wires hanging over the buildings, the dhaba where Shams enjoys tea with his friends, really give a very realistic feel to this drama. Also, I loved seeing Badshahi Masjid in the background in one of the scenes, it reminded me of my childhood & the day when I visited it with my family – there’s always something unique about such dramas that stir some emotions or memories & that’s when they end up becoming very special to you as well, so for this & for so many other obvious & awesome reasons, I am ticking all the boxes & I am certain that it will continue to blow us away till it ends! Please share your beautiful thoughts about this beautiful episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. :)

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 03!

Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. I must say the acting & the direction has been top-notch so far & the story is unfolding at a perfect pace. I am glad that they are not rushing with the happenings & are focusing on little things that are helping us in understanding all these characters perfectly.

So Goshi continued to pester Shams & he stayed unaffected with everything that Goshi said to him. It is so obvious that all Goshi wants is Shams’s attention but she conceals it by putting him down & belittling him, just so that he is unable to decipher her actual thoughts. Goshi decided on her own that she was going to spend a whole day out with her classmates without having the need to inform her family about it & she was pretty happy with the way things progressed because she knew, no one would hinder her plans & everyone’s reaction hinted that too. Goshi’s father Fiaz decided not to bother her because he knew that the last conversation her had with Goshi didn’t end at a good note, so he was well aware of the fact that anything that he’d say will make her lose her mind & the last thing he wanted to do was to infuriate her beloved daughter. He was at least satisfied that he got to know about it indirectly just before Goshi left. Ilyas was too busy with his own preparations of Basant day, so the only person who was a little concerned was Ilyas’s mother. Just when she decided to talk to Goshi about it & discuss the pros & cons with her, Goshi left her speechless by bringing in Ilyas’s name in between the conversation. I feel even though Goshi is highly opinionated & level-headed, every single time, she still feels the need to use someone as a cover because she has a hard time owning her decisions easily, that is why when Ilyas’s mother tried to speak to her, Goshi’s defense mechanism forced her to bring the topic of Ilyas’s competition that he arranged without informing anyone in the family, which obviously helped Goshi in getting away easily with her single-handed decision.

Goshi’s day went well but the ending wasn’t smooth. Shams stepped up & saved the day, convincing Goshi that he was the man she was looking for. Shams proved to be the perfect idea of a husband that Goshi was in search of & that is why, in stead of getting traumatized by what she witnessed, she felt at peace because she knew that she got the answer that she was looking for. I must say my favorite scene of this episode was when Shams goes to drop Goshi & they both share a moment together where he gets to put a ring on her finger & with very subtle expressions, they both highlight the thoughts that are running through their minds. Both the actors were phenomenal with the subtlety in their acting & I must say, their chemistry was amazing as well. Goshi returned home with an overwhelming feeling that she got a nod of approval by Shams which she yearned for all this while, but I must say, the things that her father said & the way her Aunt understood what was going on – that whole scene was done beautifully as well, it was like both the elders could foresee what was going to happen & they were dreading it. Goshi fails to understand that her happiness will cause so much distress to those people who love her so much & even though I know, they will agree to whatever she will say as her happiness means everything to them, I hope for their sake, Goshi approaches them with humility & kindness because they deserve nothing but that.

I really like Ilyas’s approach towards life. Just when he got to know that things were ohkay at Goshi’s end, he thought it was a bad idea to waste his time worrying sick for Goshi & he decided to fetch something scrumptious for dinner as he knew Goshi will eventually make it to her home. Yes, Ilyas is innocent, he is a bit too simple & most of the times, he fails to understand the gravity of such situations, but still his naivety doesn’t take away the fact that he is a kind & softhearted person. He may not be suitable for Goshi, but he surely deserves someone who would do anything for him because his loyalty makes him very special. I actually felt bad for Ilyas that he lost the kite challenge to Mariam, but it was a great relief that Fiaz had taken care of the prize money that Ilyas had promised. I really like the Chacha-Bhateeja bonding that Fiaz & Ilyas share & that is why I look forward to their conversations the most because there’s a warmth in their relation that brings a smile to my face. Mariam obviously has a lot to offer because seems like she is their neighbour & she is living with her Aunt too. I am sure being their neighbor, she will come in contact with Ilyas quite often.

So, Zareena (Saman Ansari) showed up, even more miserable than ever before. Shams’s Bhabhi succeeded in emotionally blackmailing him into getting married to her sister & Shams gave in because for him, that was the only way he could protect her & give her the social security that she needed the most. Shams’s brother knew that his younger brother had many plans for his future & such a serious commitment was the last thing on his mind but at least Shams stood up for Zareena & did what he deemed right. It is obvious that Zareena would want more from this relationship but we’ll have to wait & see if Shams will ever have anything other than his name to offer to her.

The preview of the next episode seemed even more dramatic. Looks like Mariam is interested in Ilyas & I think this is going to be the actual reason why she accepted the challenge. Goshi will find out about Shams’s Nikkah & she will confess her feelings too. I am sure it is going to get a lot more interesting & I can’t wait to watch more. I am thoroughly impressed by Hira & Ahsan Khan both, they have acted brilliantly & their chemistry has been great too. Hasan Noman & Irfan Khoosat are a treat to watch as well. The direction has been superb & I love the screenplay along with the OST because I think they use it very aptly as it completes the situations as well. Honestly speaking, I didn’t expect Preet Na Kariyo Koi to be this good, so yes, I am totally impressed. :) Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi as well & let me know if you’re enjoying it or not? :)
