Parchi is releasing on 5th January 2018, being the first release of Pakistani cinema for 2018. The cast includes Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan and Usman Mukhtar among others. It is based on extortion and belongs to the comedy genre. The premiere of the film was held in Karachi and was attended by big stars including Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Mansha Pasha, Mohib Mirza, Amina Sheikh ad Sanam Saeed. Every Pakistani is familiar with ‘Parchi’. Either you have become a victim of it or has used it for your own good but surely you have come across it in your life time. We have a lot of Parchis running from government to clerkship and even showbiz. Sometimes Parchi proves to be a break in chance, a help, and the other times the whole career is based on it turning a meager Parchi into a Parcha. In showbiz we have many people who got chances with Parchis and polished their kills to become stars. And we have many who used their Parchis only to survive in the industry and keep getting low-grade projects despite not improving themselves. Here is a list of artists who have got big breaks and then went on to become stars because of their talents and some who sustained in the industry due to the help they got:
Momal Sheikh:
She is the daughter of veteran actor Javed Sheikh. Momal has been around for many years now but there is no single project of hers which became memorable. She also went to Bollywood and made her debut with Happy Bhaag Jaayegi with you guessed it right; her father’s help. She is a big example of Parchi gone wrong.
Here comes another Sheikh. He is the son of Javed Sheikh and brother of Momal Sheikh. He also entered the industry under his father’s umbrella and struggled for many years due to his plastic acting. He has now improved a lot and have given good projects like Choti Si Zindagi and Alif Allah aur Insaan which is on-air right now. But his Parchi did help him to survive for so long.
Shahroze Sabzwari:
He is the son of veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari and nephew of Javed Sheikh. Shahroze is also married to Syra Yousaf and couple remains in the news for being ‘cute’. Shahroze is also working in the industry for a long time now and will make his film debut soon too. But did he ever impress the audience? No! Does he still get projects? Yes! I think the Parchi is quite obvious here.
Ins E Yazdan:
The picture is quite self-explanatory. Ins E Yazdan is the brother of Hocane sisters. And when you are the brother of Hocane sisters; you get to debut in a project like Udaari. Whoever has watched Udaari knows the level of Parchi this one was when he used to call ZEAABOO in his dead voice. And he had NO expressions when Zebo’s mother gets arrested. But despite of all lacks; sister dear got him debut in a big project.
Danyal Zafar:
He is becoming a sensation these days. He will make his debut in Coke Studio too and his debut has been hyped extremely. Not just that Danyal will perform in two songs in Coke Studio. But what has he done to get two songs and this much hype with his debut and all. You got it right! He was born as the younger brother of Ali Zafar. Ahemmm! Quite a good eligibility.
Zaw Ali:
While talking about Coke Studio we have another artist who is debuting this year. Zaw Ali is the daughter of legendary Sajjad Ali. Yes I do hope she turns out to be as melodious as Sajjad himself but getting such a big opportunity in the start of your career is not as easy as it was for Zaw. Many voices just stay as background singers for years before they get their debuts.
Anzala Abbasi:
Anzala Abbasi is the daughter of actors Shamoon Abbasi and Javeria Abbasi. She comes from a family of stars as the they are related with the showbiz for two generations now. Anzala made her acting debut with a soap Gila on HUM TV. Her mother insisted on Anzala for joining the acting field and Jeveria told this on Faysal Qureshi’s show herself.
Sadia Faisal:
Sadia Faisal is the daughter of talented actress Saba Faisal. Sadia is in industry for quite some time too but has failed to leave a mark and impress the audience. But she still gets a lot of projects and supporting roles and is seen on screens in different dramas.
Meesha Shafi:
This is a case of good use of opportunity. Meesha is a talent house herself. She is the daughter of Saba Hameed. She debuted as a model in Jawad Ahmed’s music video “Bin Tere Kya Hai Jeena”. She also acted on small screen and in films with her negative role in Waar getting her a lot of critical acclaim. Meesha has not used Parchi in advancing her career but it cannot be ignored that she got a good break at a meager age of 17. Her brother Faris Shafi could not make big in the industry. Thus Meesha is a person who advanced on the basis of her own talent and didn’t need her Parchi throughout like some people mentioned above.
Ahad Raza Mir is a newcomer in the industry. He has appeared on our television screens in two successful projects. One being Sammi and the other Yaqeen Ka Safar which is on-air right now. He will be seen in the movie Parwaaz Hai Junoon too which is based on Air Force.He is the son of renowned actor and producer Asif Raza Mir. He has garnered all big projects upon his debut. Though he seems a promising actor, the support he got is obviously visible.
Shaan Shahid:
Another example where support proved in giving the industry a talented actor. A little help leading a talent to success one could say for him. Shaan is the son of veteran actress Neelo and writer and film maker Riaz Shahid. Shaan didn’t take acting seriously in the beginning but later joined family business of his father Riaz Shahid Films at that time and his acting debut was Bulandi which was a huge film at that time with names such as Nadeem, Samina Peerzada attached to the cast. Though the success he got later and the way he got position of a superstar in Pakistan is due to his own talent and hardwork.

Parchi is an action packed film that is being promoted near and far ahead of its release. It’s trailers have also served well to pique up interest in audience. The movie stars Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman and Usman Mukhtar, all very busy in promotions that are held across the country.
Parchi will also be the first Pakistani Film to release in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after its crown prince lifted the ban off cinemas after some 35 years. It will make an appearance on the screens nationwide on the 19th of December there.
Since the new government has started working, our ministry of information and broadcasting is one which is running very efficiently. The minister Mr Fawad Chaudhary is always answering media’s queries and promotes anything government starts. Recently, Prime Minister Of Pakistan made his first official visit to Saudi Arabia and it was a successful visit. Many projects have been signed between both the countries. Both the countries have also pledged to share more and more cultural media. In light of this, the minister for Information tweeted that Parwaaz Hai Junoon will be the first Pakistani film to be commercially released in KSA.
After the ban on cinemas was lifted, Parchi was the first film that released in Saudi Arabia. To rectify this misinformation, the lead actress and producer of the film Parchi tweeted to the honourable minister that Parchi was indeed the first film to release in KSA though she appreciates the way Pakistani cinema is progressing. The Janaan team is coming back with a brand new movie called Parchi. The cast includes Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan, Usman Mukhtar, Shafqat Khan and Ahmed Ali Akbar. The teaser released today and seems like it is based on the subject of extortion with a touch of humour ofcourse. February seems a happening month in the drama industry of Pakistan where new projects are emerging on the screen, offering the viewers a variety to see this year. Adding a new name in the list, Seema Ghazal’s Parchaiyaan will go on air tomorrow, that is, 12th February, 2013 at 8 pm on ARY Digital.

Team of Paray Hat love didn’t show up in Aplus’s morning showThe paray hat love team refuses to come on Aplus morning show at the very last moment.
Farah Sadia, the anchor of the show seemed angry and sad over them refusing at the very last momemt. The paray hat love team didn’t even bother to inform the management of the team on which Farah had to randomly call guests and invite to safeguard her show time. It was really an unprofessional behavior of the actors that we didn’t expect from them because this is regarded as being un professional and embarrassing. We urge to the team to soon plan to visit the Aplus morning show ik nae subha to control the damage.

Talking about the Criteria of hero in Pakistan’s entertainment industry He said ” I know I don’t fit in that criteria which have been made in the Industry For Heros because there is a weird criterion for example “A Guy Who has fair complexion”, ” Or somebody who comes in a nice big car” or “Someone who has certain Protocol” Such a guy is preferred for the role of hero. And I know I don’t Fit in that criteria and I don’t want to become a hero because I am not a part of any lobby, There are as many lobbies as there are television channels.”
He further said,” I always get offers for the key roles or difficult characters which people and the Heros don’t agree on doing and I like doing such roles. If I will get an offer to become a hero I’ll do that because at the end of the day I am an artist who is interested in performing.”

Talking About Uzma Khan he said, “Uzma is a wonderful actress and a very good friend of mine. We have such great onscreen chemistry. She is also a theater actress so we have the same frequency of working and we treat our characters in the same way and we also help each other while working on a project which makes the director’s job easy”.
Talking about his character in Pehli si Mohabbat he said, ” Murad and Zainab’s characters are really twisted and somehow the story is surrounding around them. He said Murad and Zainab have a communication gap, Murad can’t express zainab can’t say anything, and the reason behind the misunderstanding between them will be revealed in the future.”
Talking about the cast, paras said, “I had such a great experience working with Maya Ali, Shehrayar Munawar HSY, and everyone else. Maya, Shehryar and HSY are such wonderful human beings. Maya is so friendly, generous and humble and it’s always good to be around her. Shehryar and I both offer our prayers together on the set.”
“Some characters have impressed me in this drama. Rabia Butt, Shabbir Jan, and Uzma have the strongest characters in the drama and I like how they are doing justice with their roles because i thoroughly watch their scenes.”

Synopsis:

From morning show hosts like Nida Yasir, Shahista Wahidi to celebrities like Urwa and Mawra Howcane, Fahad Mustafa, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hina Dilapazeer, Aijaz Aslam, Faisal Qureshi, Noor, Mahwish Hayat, Hina Bayat, Madiha Iftikhar, Ayeza Khan, Ahsan Khan, Sana and loads more walked the ramp. Mohib Mirza and Amina Sheikh gave a spectacular dance performance choreographed by the Body Beat Productions. And the famous band Fuzon also gave a spectacular performance to add more charm to the evening.

Day 1 started off with Zainab Chottani who is one of the big names of the fashion industry and specializes in producing unique, trendy and high quality bridal dresses. Her collection has been showcased in various fashion shows; nationally and internationally in cities like London, Manchester, New York and Dubai. She showcased her collections on the 20th of April in Bridal Couture Week 2013 and her dressed were worn by models and actresses like Mehreen Syed, Shaishta Wahidi, Nida Yasir, Mawra and Urwa Hocane, Zhalay Sarhadi, Fahad Mustafa and many more. Her collection consisted of the combination of different shades of pink, whites and blues. The delicate ivory and cream Lehngas with trimmings of fuchsia and pastels looked heavenly. Nadia Hussain wore a modern cut Maroon trailing outfit while Mehreen walked the ramp with Abbas Jafferi and wore a beautiful coral Lehnga.
Next in line is Saim Ali’s collection which consisted of beautiful gota borders and shorter flayered layered shirts over bell bottom palazzo pants. Shaista Wahidi and Hamza Ali Abbasi walked the stage together to showcase the collection. Other celebrities who also walked the ramp for her collection were Noor, Jia Ali, Fouzia Aman and Amina Ilyas.
Zaheer Abbas’s collection was another collection that took everyone’s breath away. His show stopper was none other than the beautiful Humaima Malik who looked absolutely spectacular in a beautiful Red Kamdani Lehenga. Zaheer Abbas took the finest materials to make these beautiful outfits and the golden embroidered Lehngas were appealing to the eye.
Day 2 of the Bridal Couture Week started off with Lajwanti’s male and female collection, boasting brilliant combinations and tasteful designs. She was followed by Madiha Noman who caught the audience’s attention with her theatrical opening performed by Ayeza Khan who was seen showcasing a beautiful olive green bridal dress with a frill embroidered border.
‘Teena by Hina Butt’s’ eclectic collections for males and females included gowns, palazzos and churidars for women and sherwanis and kurtas for men. Her first collection managed to capture everyone’s eye and her collection was an instant hit! The 2nd day ended by Indian designers Anjali and Arjun Kapoor on a dramatic note with extremely bling and ornate gowns and saris.
On the 3rd day, Sana Abbas opened the show with her elegant bridal line in pastel colors and striking combinations. Her showstopper was Mahwish Hayat who looked extraordinarily beautiful in a rust colored Lehnga. Sana Abbas is specialized in Prêt, Haute Couture and Bridal wears and her bridal dresses were made of the finest fabrics with quality cuts and intricate embroideries. Other models who donned her dresses were Ayyan, Nadia Hussain, Zeba Ali and Sana Sarfaraz. Then came Nadya Mistry who showcased an ultra-modern and funky bridal line and her dresses were modeled by stars like Madiha Iftikhar and Adnan Shah. Mifrah Gul followed with her impressive and sophisticated bridal collection. Her showstoppers were Faisal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam and Amber Khan.
Deepak Parwani showcased his beautiful male and female ethnic bridal collection. His showstoppers were none other than Wasim Akram and Zeba Bakhtiar. He was followed by the works of 14 Haute Couturiers – Imran Rajput, Deepak and Fahad, Tabassum Mughal, Arsalan Iqbal, Ishtiaq Afzal, Nida Khurram, Nadaa Saleem, Obaid Sheikh, Wahaj Moiz, Ruby Shakeel, Uzma Baber, Naureen Arbab, Mussarat Bushra and Vasim Asghar. The outfits of Wahaj M. Khan were donned by Sana Fakhir and Ahsan Khan.
After this Body Beats Productions again came in to perform, much to everyone’s delight. This time the performance featured Hasan Rizvi, Anoushay Ashraf, Kiran Khan, Sohai Ali Abro, Tipu Sharif, Sarwat Gilani, Javed Sheikh and Komal Rizvi. The evening came to a grand close with HSY’s male and female gloriously worked bridal collection. His collection consisted of mostly dark colored outfits that stood out. The show finally ended with an electronic fireworks display.
This was one of the best events of 2013 so far and will be etched in the memory of the audiences till we get to see another glamorous week next year which will be even better than this years event!
Pantene Bridal Couture Week is the biggest bridal show of its kind with the top designers of Pakistan showcasing their designs in this entire week. The PBCW started on 9th May at the Expo Center Karachi. The management behind the show is that of HUM Network Ltd.
On this first day designers like Amir Adnan, Amina Yaseen, Sana Abbas, Zainab Chottani and Zahid Khan showcased their talent on the ramp. The first day of the week ended with Mehwish Hayat giving an impressive dance performance which was really liked by the audience.
Yaqoob Atif was a talented veteran Pakistani singer who was famous because of his energetic stage performances. His claim to fame song was Pani Da Bulbula, which was a Pakistani style original rap song. The song became a popular meme in the era when there was no internet and social media. His song Pani Da Bulbula was quite meaningful and message oriented.

Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir are parents to three beautiful kids. They have been married for two decades now and they make one of the power couples of Pakistani showbiz. Napa programmes director Arshad Mehmood said one of the motives behind the festival is to make more people come to watch theatre.

On Wednesday late night Pakistan women’s football team striker Shahlyla Ahmadzai Baloch died in a car crash. Shalyla Baloch’s body has been taken to Kalat for burial. Baloch’s sister revealed that the accident took place in Defence phase 8 when the car struck against a pole.
Regarding the accident, Senior Superintendent Police (SP) South Saqib Iqbal Memon said, “Fadeian Baloch was coming from ‘Do Darya’ towards Village in his Toyota Corolla car with his cousin Shahlyla Baloch. On the way, when they reached the turning near the Emaar building, he lost control and the car hit the footpath and then against a barrier.”
Shaylyla was Born in 1996, she was an excellent foot ball striker in Baluchistan women’s football team. Her sister Raheela Zarmain is associated with the football team as a manager. Their mother, Senator Rubina Irfan, has been the chairperson of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Women’s Wing. Her father has also been a provincial minister.

Zaheer Abbas known as Asian Bradman is a famous Pakistani cricketer. Zaheer Abbas has captained Pakistan in 1970’s in Test Matches and is still regarded one of the finest batsman of Pakistan.
Zaheer Abbas was married to his cousin Nasreen and the couple has three daughters when Zaheer Abbas met an Indian lady Rita Luthra in London. Zaheer Abbas, while for English county Gloucestershire get acquainted to Rita Luthra in 1980’s, an Indian lady studying interior designing. After several years of friendship they both get married in 1988. Before this marriage Zaheer had already divorced his first wife. Mohsin Khan is a famous test crickter of Pakistan of 1980’s. Mohsin Khan rose to fame after scoring a double century at Lords against the England. Mohsin Khan married Indian film star Reena Roy in the late 1980’s and settled in Mumbai. They have a daughter named Jannat from this marriage, however the marriage not lasted much long and ended in the early 1990’s. Faysal Qureshi is a golf player from Pakistan who married Nonita Lall a golf player from India. They married in 1990s. Aneeta Ayoob is a model and artist who started her acting career from PTV Karachi center in late 1980’s. In 1990 Aneeta also worked in few Indian and Pakistani films with limited success. 2- Kumail Nanjiani
Kumail Nanjiani was born in Pakistan but he moved to States when he was 18. He is a stand up comedian, an actor, a writer and a podcast host. Nanjiani is best known for his role in the HBO Emmy award nominated show Silicon Valley. He went big when last year he starred in the semi-autobiographical romantic comedy film The Big Sick, which he wrote with his wife Emily V. Gordon. 3-Mir Zafar Ali
Ali initially studied software engineering in FAST National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences in Pakistan. Ali has worked on visual effects and graphics in many Hollywood movies, including The Day After Tomorrow, X-Men: First Class, Stealth, Monster House, The Golden Compass, The Incredible Hulk, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Aliens in the Attic. He worked in the team that won the Academy Award for best visual effects for the 2007 movie The Golden Compass. He is the first Pakistani to have been connected with an Academy Award-winner for Best Visual Effects. His latest recognition came in the form of an Academy Award for his work in ‘Frozen’ that cemented his status as a special effects superstar.
4-Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy
The woman needs no introduction the name speaks for itself. She is known for her work in films that highlight the inequality with women. She is the recipient of two Academy Awards, six Emmy Awards and a Lux Style Award. In 2012, the Government of Pakistan honoured her with the Hilal-i-Imtiaz, the second highest civilian honour of the country, and Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. 5-Faran Haroon Tahir
Faran Haroon Tahir was born in America but raised in Pakistan he is the son of veteran actor Naeem Tahir so his love for performing arts really isn’t surprising, runs in the family. He made his film debut playing Nathoo in the Disney’s 1994 live-action version of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. He is best known for his roles as Raza in Iron Man and Captain Robau in Star Trek. His most recent appearance was in ABC’s hit thriller Scandal.
6-Sameer Asad Gardezi
Sameer Asad Gardezi is a WGA Award Winning Pakistani American Muslim screenwriter and television writer who has written for Aliens in America, the Golden Globe nominated, Emmy-winning hit series Modern Family, Mr. Sunshine, Outsourced and Goodwin Games. For his work on Modern Family, he was awarded a Writer’s Guild Award for his excellence in writing. Most recently, he collaborated with Daily Show’s Trevor Noah to create the untitled Trevor Noah project.

Well, in order to add Pakistani vibe in the show, they have tried to use a few words which are completely giving Bollywood touch. According to a lot of Pakistanis, a better research before the making of the show could have helped the makers in a better way. Pakistanis also said that assigning the role of mother to an indian lady is adding clearly an indian flavor to the show. They said that no one in Pakistan speak in this much “singi-songy” accent. Pakistanis are of the view that these additional details could have been avoided as they are clearly depicting that the over-excited “Desi Family” surely belongs to India. A lot of Pakistanis and Pakistani Punjabi speaking people said that they have never used the dialogue “Chak De Phattay” ever in their life and it’s used only in Indian side of Punjab. They also said that the trailer didn’t satisfy them, however, they hoped for a better creation but Ms Marvel proved them wrong. They also said that a few words like “Abbu” & “Haram” were also forcefully added to give it a Pakistani flavor and they are failing in adding Pakistani cultural vibe in it, on the other hand, every single uttered word is giving Bollywood touch and Indian vibe. Lawn season is one of the defining seasons in Pakistani fashion for the past few years. All the big brands come up with their premium lawns and some elaborate fashion shoots are organized. Atif Aslam is one of the most beloved singers of the country. He recently attended a parade for the incoming Independence Day in New York where he sang some of his hits from Bollywood movies. People were not happy with Atif for singing Indian songs in a Pakistani Parade. The audience expressed their displeasure and left the concert.
Fellow singers Abrar ul Haq and Muhammad Ali Shaiki said while talking to ARY News that Atif should have avoided singing Indian songs in a Pakistani Parade but they added that this mistake should be overlooked.
Shafqat Amanat Ali supported Atif and this is what he wrote on Twitter:
I stand in support with @itsaadee for singing his songs at the parade. Music is not Indian or Pakistani. It is just music! Singers r synonymous with their songs which r loved equally by fans from every country. Should have briefed him if they wanted national songs!

Javed Akhtar is a veteran Indian writer and poet who frequently makes headlines for spreading hate against Pakistan. Multiple Pakistani artists have often called out the actor’s hypocrisy. According to many, he enjoys generous hospitality in Pakistan but makes anti-Pakistan statements upon returning to India.
Recently, Javed Akhtar has once again come under the spotlight for yet another hateful remark against Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference on the ABP channel, he said, “I receive a lot of appreciation, but along with that, I am abused by extremists from both sides—India and Pakistan. I would be surprised if I didn’t receive any hate, because that would mean I’m doing something wrong. So let it be. People from Pakistan say I will go to hell, while people in India call me a Jihadi, accuse me of favouring Pakistan, and often tell me to ‘go to Pakistan.’ So, if I had to choose between Pakistan and Hell, I would choose Hell.” Here is the link to the video:
Javed Akhtar’s statement is receiving severe public backlash in Pakistan. Pakistani celebrities like Mishi Khan, Imran Abbas, Zhalay and Sharmila Faruqui have also called out the actor.
Mishi Khan said, “You have chosen the best place for yourself because that’s what you deserve. And yes, never ever dare to come to Pakistan. No one will invite you. Also, don’t forget to take those with you who were sitting at your feet—take them along and enjoy. Just don’t come back.”
Actor Imran Abbas said, “If he doesn’t opt for Hell, he will still end up on the same flight, but likely in the lower economy class. We only granted him Business/First status; otherwise, he didn’t merit any other class.”

India vs Pakistan war scenario was the point of global debate for the last ten days. The two nuclear powers nearly came on the verge of a war and things were finally settled as Donald Trump jumped into it. Since the PAF invasion of India and how they were able to cause massive damage to Indian military facilities, the Modi government is using childish tactics to prove to Indians that they have done a great job. The latest one came with the arrest of their own Indian citizens on espionage charges.
The Indian police have resorted to weird tactics as they arrested six of their own influencers on espionage charges. These six influencers including Vlogger Jyoti Malhotra were accused of passing sensitive information to the Pakistani intelligence agencies. They even released a photo of the YouTuber after her arrest.
Pakistanis are now trolling India for being too obsessed with Pakistan. The way they are now arresting their own citizens is simply ridiculous. Pakistanis are also asking relevant questions about this and they are not scared to say what many Indians think but cannot express themselves in their country.
