Pakistani Cinema’s growth had stopped altogether but then the cinema was revived and now it’s is growing with steady steps. Every year we get to see good movies. This year it was “Load Wedding”, “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2”, “Teefa In Trouble” and “Parwaz Hai Junoon”. All these movies did comparatively great on box office considering the fact that cinema is still in its growth and development phase.

Yesterday Fawad Chaudhary, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pakistan announced on twitter that “Parwaz Hai Junoon” is going to be screened commercially in Saudi Arabia. He tweeted, “Pakistani Movie “Parwaz hai Junoon” ll be the first Pak commercial movie to be screened in #SaudiArabia on 11th October.

He further shared that more films will be screened in the coming months not just in one country but all around the world. He said, “more films and more screenings around the world in coming months InshAllah”.

Although Parchi was also released in Saudi Arabia earlier this year but it was screened privately. Parwaaz Hai Junoon will be the first one to have the commercial screening.

Majid Khan is a brilliant Pakistani digital creator who has a substantial following on Facebook. He is famously known as Comics by Majid. Majid Khan belongs to Karachi. He was a finance professional but has now switched his career to digital creation and PR. He began content creation as a pass time activity but got huge popularity through a few of his viral skits which crossed views in millions. His skits are mostly inspired by everyday life in Pakistan, including politics, media, and social events. In a rather sad turn of events, veteran Pakistani comedian, Umer Sharif’s daughter, Hira Umer, passed away in Lahore on Monday night.

According to reports, the cause of Hira’s death turns out to be a heart attack, as confirmed byFarooq Rubi, a close family friend. Also, Hira had been suffering with kidney issues for a while and had been admitted to a private hospital in Lahore.

Hira Umer was reportedly very close to her father, Umer Sharif, who is now rushing back home to Lahore from his three month tour of the United States.

Although Hira remained out of the limelight, she was the administrator of Umer Sharif’s ‘Maa’ hospital in Karachi.

Comedian Omer Sharif was rumoured to be severe ill as a picture of him in a hospital bed went viral on social media. Many social media pages reported that he’s severely unwell.

However, Images got in touch with Sharif’s family, “He has a minor chest infection, that is all. Thankfully, he is recovering well and should be home in a day or two,” his sister shared with Images.

“I’d like to request people to not exaggerate news. Also, it is criminal that nurses or doctors in hospitals are able to take photographs of their patients and make them viral. Hospital administration should make an effort to check this unethical behaviour,” she said.

She requested Umer Sharif’s well-wishers to pray for his health and not worry. “He will be back among you soon,” she assured his fans.

In April, actress Nayla Jaffri was rumoured to be suffering from the last stage of ovarian cancer and in need of Blood group B+. However, the actress denied all the rumours and is recovering from the disease.

Shafaat Ali is a Pakistani comedian whose funny mimicking videos went viral on facebook and later all over the internet. He has been performing at corporate events and was also seen at the Karachi Literature festival.

Good news for all his fans because Ali is now making his movie debut in the upcoming Momina Duraid Production, Parwaaz Hai Junoon starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir and Asif Raza Mir’s son and Ahad Raza Mir.

“I was initially approached to audition for a drama serial; however, the team at HUM found me to be quite fit for the character in the film and that’s when they told me that they had another project in mind for me,” he told Images over a telephonic conversation from the set of his film’s second spell at K2 and the Karakoram Highway.

“I have been offered films previously as well, but I never took them seriously since I never wanted to do a project that fails to leave an impact. Since Parwaaz Hai Junoon is being made in association with the Pakistani Air Force — who last made a film almost five decades ago — I knew I had to do this.”

While talking about his experience on set, he said:

“The entire cast and I have developed a great bond and everybody’s been extremely helpful to each other,” he revealed. “I’ve never been on a set which involves so much cardio and exercise and since all of us are actually living our characters, even off-screen, there’s been a major transformation for me. I’m really stretching my limits and I would really call it an adventurous project.”

On a concluding note, he revealed big plans for his comedy career:

“I want to take my comedy global, that’s what I’m focusing on currently since I’m touring different countries for shows. There hasn’t been an internationally acclaimed and viable comedian from Pakistan in recent times and I wish to break the ice.”

Syed Shafaat Ali is a Pakistani TV host and stand up comedian who is known for his impressions of Pakistani public figures. People love him for his originality and he is one of the few emerging artists who are totally about the substance they create. Shafaat made his drama debut in 2017 with Romeo weds Heer and his film debut with 2018’s Parwaaz Hai Junoon.

Recently, Comedian Shafaat Ali is switching gears and his newest project will feature him in a very serious role, one he hopes will surely surprise his fans. Shafaat is moving on to more serious fare with his latest project “Nayhar Ka Mazhar” which will air on Hum TV in December’21. His costars are Saboor Aly, Areeba Habib, Osama Tahir, Munazza Arif, Rabia Noreen, Saima Qureshi, Farhan Ali Agha, Anamta and Omar Alam.

Shafaat while talking about his upcoming project, mentioned that “It’s a serious play, a serious character. I’m pretty hopeful that people will find serious work very different with my face and my acting.” The story is about dowry and three families, he explained. The drama has been written by Soofia Khurram and directed by Ali Hassan, of Meri Gurya fame.

“The work environment is amazing. I am lucky to work around people who are filled with positivity and the gaps between the scenes are like our laughter therapy sessions,” said Shafaat.

The Famous comedian and stage actor Nadeem Baral passed away at the age of 74. He played the famous roles of Majidi, Sidhu Paji and Inspector Qureshi on the famous program Khabarnak which aired on Geo News.

Nadeem Baral was working with theatre for more than 30 years. He was a student of comedian Babu Baral and learned the art of comedy from him.

The ace comedian was famous for his role as ‘Wadey Khan Sahib’. He has been spreading happiness among people for the past thirty years.

Nadeem Baral has left behind five children and a widow. His funeral prayer will be held in Lahore.

One of the most sought after comedians of Pakistan, Danish Ali opens up about the struggles he had to face on his road to success. He worked hard for all his achievements and wants to inspire everyone out there.

Danish said, “Good luck to everyone giving their O, A level and inter exams, remember to do some nice breathing exercises and sleep loads and realize that a good grade will help you in life but it is not the only way forward, i got straight Cs through O Levels and A levels.”

He shares details about his school days,
“I remember my O level chemistry teacher saying I was a horrible student and that I would fail and she put me down a lot. My Urdu teacher in 5th grade would almost curse my parents outloud infront of the entire classroom.”

“I was shortlisted by Aga Khan Medical university twice but never made it. When i was selected in Ziauddin I failed my surgery exam in medschool. I was failing pharmacology and was told I would fail the year,” he added.

Somehow, he found the way out,
“I was living alone and needed money so started working in television while still in medschool.”

“Everyone told me I would never become a doctor. Everyone told me I would never succeed as a comedian. Today i am both an MBBS and a successful comedian.”

Danish is encouraging people to ignore those who put others down!
“The people around you putting you down do not have any intelligence for themselves and only seek to lend you their incompetence at life. Pay them no attention. You got this.”

Umer Shareef is Pakistan’s leading Stand up Comedian and is known as “King of Comdey”. He’s not just famous in Pakistan but in whole South Asia. He became one of the best-known stage performers in Pakistan after his extremely popular 1989 comedy stage plays Bakra Qistoon Pay and Buddha Ghar Pe Hai. He since then has managed to form a huge fan following over the years and has won numerous awards too. His play Bakra Qistoon Pay had influenced Pakistan’s typical style of stage plays. So All the fans of Comedy and Umer Sharif can rejoice, because he will now be seen making comeback with The Umer Shareef Show but this time the show will be airing on News One.

Hip revealed, the show is still in its shooting process and will air earlier next year, every weekend at 11 pm. The format will be quite the same as before.

Pakistani fashion designers making inroads in European markets

Pakistani fashion designers have progressed quite a lot in past one decade. Regular fashion and bridal weeks are organized in two major cities Lahore and Karachi where designers showcase their work.

A sizable overseas Pakistani community lives in countries of Middle East, Europe, Australasia and North America. These overseas Pakistanis are a potential market of Pakistani designers. For the very same reason, Pakistani designers have regularly arranged fashion parades and shows in London. At one such recent event, Ali Zafar (singer and actor) has also participated. British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC has also covered this event to analyze the prospects and chances for Pakistani designers in british market.

On going Sindh Festival is on full swing with all the festivities and joys.  A fashion show and cultural event is held in Hindu Gymkhana, Karachi on 12th February 2014, in which leading designers Fnk Asia, Umar Syed and others showcased their collection. The designers used Ajrak in their dresses too a trademark of culture of Sindh. Highlight of the show was Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari who attended the whole event. Folk artists like Akhtar Chanaal Zehri also performed on the occasion.

College Gate is Green Entertainment’s 7:00 Pm drama serial. The drama is written by Ateeq Inayat and Ali Sikandar. It is an A&F Productions in association with Multiverse Entertainment. It is produced by Imran Raza. Fasih Ur Rehman is executive producer of the show and it has been directed by Fahim Burney. The cast features a long list of new actors including Khaqan Shahnawaz, Mamya Shajaffar, Shuja Asad, Natalia Castillo , Zarrar Khan, Hina Chaudhary, Asad Chaudhry, Washma Fatima, Nouman Kahout, Mashal Khan, Arsalan Khan , Nadia Hussain, Usman Peerzada.

Today, the last episode of the drama serial College Gate aired on Green Entertainment. Fans loved the ending of the drama. They also said that the drama was quite a refreshing watch. Few fans said that this drama reminded them of their college days. Fans were expecting to see the love stories in the drama but the drama ended abruptly which fans didn’t like.

A lot of fans are demanding the season 2 of the drama. Fans appreciated and loved the characters of Usman and Bilal. They loved the beautiful bond of friends. A fan praised the character of madam Zara. The drama viewers said that they thoroughly enjoyed College Gate which gave very good messages in a funny way. A fan said, “the drama took us back to our student lives, we remembered our friends as now we are stuck in our busy lives”. Green entertainment is a new channel that has come out with some very unique content. New dramas with some very different characters have been seen which are not generally seen on Pakistani television. College Gate is also a new drama to debut on television and we have a young cast with a story revolving around college students in the drama.

Over the past decade, Coke Studio has definitely made a name for itself. In fact, it has become one of the biggest shows in the sub-continent. A lot of super hit songs have been produced on the show and we are all very thankful to Coke Studio for giving those hits to us. But producing amazing tracks requires not only artists working hard but also the house band of Coke Studio.

In 2013, after five years, Hyatt stepped down from the position of executive producer of Coke Studio and handed her mantle over to the Strings members Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia.

Most of us will agree that these guys produce great music but what we all also want to know is how they are as the bosses? Well, in a recent interview to a local news agency, members of the Coke Studio’s House band answered this question:

They’re both gems! Being a good musician is a whole different thing but they’re incredible human beings.

Haider Ali further praised his bosses,

Most importantly, I’ve been given full liberty to play whatever I want. I’ve worked with so many artists but the moment I joined Strings I knew I could not go anywhere else.

Asif Nicky, another member of the band, said,

I’ve been associated with the entertainment industry for over 15-16 years but have worked with Strings for the past 5-6 years. Working with Strings has been really good.

The experienced musicians also talked about what he finds special working with the Strings boys,

To me, quality in work is a priority and that’s why being associated with Strings is special for me,
