Its really sad when we see our own actresses arguing on live shows and its not just arguing rather they start insulting each other. Lately in the live show “Siyasi Theatre” on express news which is hosted by the famous Wasi Shah invited the film actresses Meera and Laila.
It was on the show when Meera passed a comment on Laila’s conversation and Laila started speaking wrong English and tried her level best to insult her to the max. Firstly ,this is so disturbing that our celebrities who are not fluent in English forcefully speak the language. Secondly these celebrities being public figures should not insult each other on live shows like that
Ohkay so, this episode was another filler & I am still not understanding where the director should be working towards wrapping up the story, she is dragging everything & focusing on all those aspects which hold no importance in the eyes of the viewers because they weren’t the reason why people started watching this drama in the first place. I guess the director wants to push people to the limit & she wants to make sure that when the drama ends, no one else is watching this drama except her & she wants to enjoy it exclusively, that is why this drama is being dragged by the director to test the patience of its viewers. I swear, I am so disappointed in Amna Nawaz Khan that I just can’t explain. I now know that she is aiming to touch the 30 episode mark which is actually quite immature for a director of her stature who has tackled some amazing projects in the past with a lot of intelligence. Seriously, 30 episodes for ‘this’, I’m speechless!!!
Gaiti & Mehtab’s scene was so long & boring that even after I got over with a task of editing & arranging my Eid pictures, that scene was still going on. I just don’t understand that we, as viewers, who have no experience in the drama-making can tell that things have gone off-track, then how come the director who has been in this business can not really see that this drama is not working for people anymore? Where’s her experience? Where’s her intelligence? Where’s her insight? What is the point & what’s the motive behind dragging this drama? It is most certainly not chipping in the ratings & is not liked by the viewers at this stage, so why is she dragging Zara Yaad Kar & trying to turn it into a black spot of her career? I seriously have noooo interest in Gaiti & Mehtab’s family politics & their personal war. I am sure Gaiti will end up dying & it will be Mehtab & Aftab’s doing, that is why she got a closure with Waqar in this episode because the director didn’t want to keep that thing unresolved. Gaiti is a politician (?) but it looked like she became a politician out of fluke because her main focus was on getting Waqar & his love, so now when that is out of the picture, I am sure her motivation to live will die too!!!
Accha jee Anoushay ke abba jaan dunya-e-faani se kooch kar gaye, to hum kya karain? Qul parhain? Like seriously, this is the amount of indifference that I have towards Anoushay, her Dad & her Naani or Daadi or whatever. I find it so so so so annoying that the director had made Haadi an important part of Anoushay’s family problems where her Granny is discussing their personal issues with him & he is giving them the utmost attention as if he has no other things to do or no Halala to tend to? Seriously, Haadi is seen all over the place, sorting other people’s messes while his own life is a mess in itself, so why doesn’t he give attention to his own life? The entire conversation about Anoushay & her step-brother & the distribution of the wealth & Waqar’s interest in Anoushay’s wealth was so unnecessary, like I don’t care about Anoushay’s character, so does the director really think that I will be bothered about how much money she will get & what her life with Waqar is going to be like???
May be even till the last episode, I was interested to see the fate that Mahnoor will meet but this episode put a kibosh on that aspect too because things have been dragged so much that they don’t interest me anymore. Mahnoor rants, Haadi listens, Aneesa taunts, Mahnoor yells, Haadi drives & Aneesa philosophies & that’s all there’s to it. This track should’ve been wrapped ages like million years ago but looks like dinosaurs got extinct but these guys survived due to their high level of intelligence (yes, I am taunting them hard)!
Haadi is once again concerned about Uzma’s marriage to Fahad, bhai tumhe kya lena dena hai??? Apne kaam se kaam rakho or should I say, apne halala se halala rakho. Haadi should just leave Uzma alone & let her get married to Fahad because he is far better than you Mr. Haadi or should I say, there’s no comparison. Anyways, I want this black spot to end ASAP & please let me know if there’s any news on the social media about its ending!!!

Ohkay so, the production of Momina Duraid, the writing of Mona Haseeb & the direction of Haseeb Hassan, Sanam hit our TV screens tonight. Honestly speaking, as much as I was looking forward to this drama when it got announced by the end of Diyar-e-Dil, I am not feeling it much now that it is on-air. I am sure the journey has just begun so it might give us something to look forward to or at times, it might also give us some good moments to be entertained with & I am definitely ready to give it a go, but as a whole, the first episode has got me thinking.
The story has started with the marriage of two polar opposite people; Harib (Osman Khalid Butt) & Aila Juhi Chawla (Hareem Farooq). It seems that Aila used to work in Harib’s office & that’s where they both got interested in each other & decided to get married. Harib is a calm & collected guy who is very much in touch with his emotional side. Harib believes in understanding people, he also believes in giving them the space & the edge they want that allows them to just be themselves but Aila is bipolar & not only that, she is someone who Harib is unable to connect with that too in the very initial stages of their relationship, like you can say within an hour of being married to her! I am sure or let’s say that I am hoping that in the future episodes, they will take us back to how Harib & Aila’s love story started because going by what they showed us in this episode, it looked like a match made in hell because Harib seems totally clueless about Aila’s personality whereas they suggested that they both were in love before they got married, so it definitely means that they must’ve spent a lot of time with each other before their marriage, so the way Harib seemed confused & shocked at Aila’s panic attack makes me question the bonding they both shared because it somehow doesn’t sit well with me & I am having a hard time believing that this was the first time Harib saw this side of Aila’s personality. I think the writer is trying to stir some sympathy for Harib by showing us that he had no idea what he was getting into, but I surely would’ve bought that if they had showed that Harib & Aila were complete strangers who were forced into a marriage.
It looks like Aila’s anxiety & panic attacks get triggered by very nominal things, because what Harib said to her was just something that a newly married guy would say to tease his wife, so I definitely am not going to buy that Aila had full control over her anger & personality issues before she got married to him & she deceivingly succeeded in concealing that side of hers. If the writer is trying to show that Aila has some sort of personality disorder, than she should’ve showed that this was the pattern that Aila followed & this was something that Harib knew of & then he chose to be a bigger person by going ahead with his decision of marrying Aila out of his love for her because that would’ve made far more sense. I feel by showing us that Harib was oblivious of what he signed up for, the writer is trying to turn Harib into a mazloom shohar, whose life is about to get ruined because of a psychotic wife like Aila. I definitely don’t mind watching such characters on-screen that have anxiety or depression or have some personality disorders, provided the writers deal with their issues with maturity because people in real life do go through all these issues, but here I have a feeling that in stead of showing us how a person like Aila will be dealt with & what her real issues are, she will be used by the writer as a villain, to only make us feel for the struggles of the guy who will be victimized by her because all of a sudden, she has been shown in such a negative light that it makes me certain about the writer’s intentions regarding Aila’s character.
Well, Harib had to attend an important meeting the day after he got married & seems like he is a self-made man who achieved everything on his own, but I find it hard to believe that his work ethics were so poor that he forgot to put his phone on a silent mode before attending such an ‘important meeting’ for which he had to leave his day-old wife at home. Well, in the initial part of the episode I felt that Harib was madly in love with Aila & he was ecstatic to have her in his life but all the things he said to his best friend Shehroz (Emaad Irfani) came as a shock to me because their conversation suggested that Harib just got married to Aila for the sake of a social experiment & he got married to her not because he was in love her with but because he was sympathetic towards her. Harib also said that he knows what Aila has been through & how her struggles have shaped up her character & personality, which again brings me to a point that when Harib had an in & out knowledge about Aila, how come it was the first time that he saw that ‘episode’ of her personality? Shehroz’s comments about Aila suggested that everyone in the office is unsure about Harib & Aila’s relationship & they are certain that it isn’t going to last for a long time. I must say, going by how Harib started discussing the nitty gritty of everything that Aila did on their wedding night was a little off-putting, like at one hand you claim that Aila has completed your life & on the other, you are literally backbiting about her & telling your friend that you dozed off in the middle of the conversation that your wife was having with you on your very first night together? So, I am sorry but I don’t see any “love” between Harib & Aila at all. It looks like Harib just decided to get married to Aila without thinking things through & now he has already started regretting his decision, which again brings me to my point that the writer is trying to turn Harib into a halaat ka maara, who will be saved by the daughter of his next door neighbor.
Aan (Maya Ali) & her mother (Hina Bayat) have just moved into the neighborhood & Aan’s mother is trying hard to fit in. She has obviously moved to this neighborhood because she wanted to do something for her daughter. They come from a very conservative & humble background but it looks like Aan’s mother had a very different perspective & that is why she made sure to empower her daughter by educating her, which was something that even her husband Shaukat Qureshi (Abid Ali) didn’t approve of when he was alive. Aan’s mother doesn’t want Aan to get married to her paternal cousin because she knows that Aan will be made to live the life that she doesn’t deserve. I actually found the mother’s character quite interesting but I was a little disappointed to see Sir Abid Ali being shown as a spirit which was a result of Aan’s mothers’ hallucination or delusion. From our beloved & favorite Agha Jaan to Shaukat Qureshi, that too in such a setting, hmmmmmmm!!!!
Well, Aan is your typical seedhi saadhi larki, who is very much in touch with her roots & has a high regard for the background that she comes from. Aan’s mother might not be a fan of the life that she has left behind but it is obvious that Aan finds it hard to let go of everything & anything that reminds her of her father. Aan wants to stay connected to her roots & she is not as ambitious as her mother is. I liked the detailing of the furniture in Aan’s house because it perfectly depicted the lifestyle that they actually had & were used to, which now Aan’s mother was trying hard to let go of. Well Harib & Aan had an interaction & Aan ended up giving him the energy he must’ve needed to conquer the world by offering him an Anda Paratha Roll. Hmmm, Harib is such a masoom sa larka, whose villainous wife doesn’t serve him breakfast but thankfully he has such caring neighbors who carry an extra roll for him in their lunch box to save the day. I guess the writer is trying to show that if a husband is not served a breakfast, it makes him an ultimate bechara who has to be sympathized with.
Overall, this episode didn’t make such an impact that I expected & thought it would. I found no chemistry between Osman Khalid Butt & Hareem Farooq, yes, on their own they both tried their best to give a good shot but together, they didn’t make a good couple. I so wish the casting director had hired Sajjal Ali to play the character of Aila because she not only had looked great with Osman Khalid Butt, she would’ve looked cute in the scenes where Harib must’ve pampered her & she would’ve made a perfect villain with some psychological issues because yes, I strongly believe that Hareem can look poised & elegant because of her strong personality, but she most certainly can’t look ‘cute’ which the the director was trying hard to convey. Hina Bayat’s character was the only thing that worked for me in this episode & I actually enjoyed watching her scenes, I was a little taken aback by the setting in which Sir Abid Ali made an appearance because I thought he would be shown in the flashback sequences but he happens to be a free spirit, hovering in Aan’s house!?!?! Maya Ali didn’t leave a strong impression but I am sure she will steal the show when her character will get enough coverage. Osman Khalid Butt’s acting was good & Hareem Farooq seemed to be trying too hard but she couldn’t do justice to Aila’s character. Direction of the episode was good, there’s no denying to the fact that Haseeb Hassan knows the art of direction & his attention to detail is commendable, but this time around, just like Mann Mayal, it is the writer who I feel hasn’t done that much of an impressive job. Let’s see how things will unfold. Please share your thoughts about the very first episode of Sanam.

Ohkay so, these past two episodes of Kathputli were thoroughly enjoyable. I am glad that even though a few of the things don’t make much sense & have been coaxed, the rest of it is interesting enough to make the episodes a good watch. This drama sends out a lot of good messages & has been tackled decently by the director. I do however feel that a few scenes & the coverage of some of the characters could’ve been omitted because it doesn’t really add much to the story but other than that, everything in this drama is working for me.
It is absolutely heart warming how Mehru has not only sticked with her decision of taking care of Ahad’s father, but she has also accepted him as her own father too because everything that she does for him comes straight from her heart. Mehru didn’t mind what Ahad said in agitation because she knew that Ahad was quite tensed about his father, therefore she decided to ignore what he said. This is what I love about Mehru’s character & personality the most, she is not a mazloom aurat & she most certainly is defensive enough to take a stand for herself when she sees that she is being mistreated, but when the situation arises, she lets go of a lot of things as she understands the complexity & intricacy of the situation, which makes her a very strong woman mentally. Quite conveniently, Mehru could’ve blown things out of proportion & she could’ve made a fuss about Ahad being rude or she could’ve blamed Ahad’s father for being rigid, but she didn’t do any of that as she knew that it was just a misunderstanding which can be subsided, but what was more important at that point was to keep things normal & that’s what a wise person would also do.
I really like how that characters are evolving in this drama. Yes, there are a few characters who’re stuck in a rut & choose not to budge, but the characters that make this drama worthwhile are the one’s that are evolving for all the right reasons. Ahad’s father was quite bitter & negative & didn’t leave a good first impression, but he depicts how a little bit of love, care & attention changes someone’s heart & personality completely. Ahad’s father; who used to be such a rigid person has now turned out to be someone who not only appreciates what Ahad & Mehru do for him, but has become quite understanding in the matters concerning them, where he encourages them to spend time together. I really liked how Ahad’s father chose to be a bigger person & admit his mistakes because he saw how Ahad was being harsh on Mehru & how Mehru was tolerating everything silently.
The way Ahad dealt with the entire situation was actually quite sweet. I love how all these characters are shown to be so accommodating & easy going that they don’t mind accepting when they are at fault. The moment Ahad heard the truth from his father, he realized that he was not wrong in judging Mehru, he also went overboard in holding her responsible for everything without thinking things through, that is why he chose to gift her some flowers, to break the ice & start afresh. We hardly get to see such characters who extend such gestures towards their spouses to make things right & we ‘never’ get to see such husbands who go out of the way to make their ‘wives’ happy. What Ahad did was actually quite sweet where he wanted to make things right & also appreciate Mehru for all the things that she was doing.
I thoroughly enjoy seeing the bonding that Ahad, Ahad’s Father & Mehru share with each other, it’s like all of a sudden, they have become one happy family that understands each other & believes in empowering each other emotionally. I loved everything that Mehru said to Ahad about how she won’t allow anyone to mistreat her anymore. Going by the circumstances Mehru went through & seeing how she was always oppressed by her brothers, the writer could’ve conveniently used those things to turn Mehru into a bechari who chose to accept mistreatment & oppression as her fate, but Faiza Iftikhar gave us something entirely different by showing us a girl who learned how to protect herself using all her bitter experiences as an example & who chose to put her respect ahead of everything else. Very easily, Mehru could’ve made herself understand that this is what life was going to offer to her but it is amazing how even though things became easier for her after she got married to Ahad, Mehru chose not to compromise on her pride, dignity & respect. Mehru has clearly told Ahad that she wants to be respected because she respects her self & she doesn’t want mistreatment because she has endured that enough already. I like how Ahad also understands Mehru & he has made a promise that he won’t do anything that will upset her. For me, that is something absolutely beautiful!!!
Well, Umair must be doing a victory dance because his attempts of causing a rift between Saira & Ehtasham didn’t go to waste. I find it amusing how Umair thinks he’s a savior & Saira needs his back. Saira is another beautiful & strong character & her politeness & honesty are her strengths, so to see Umair moving around like a headless chicken worrying about his sister is completely unjustified & unnecessary. Saira clearly told Umair how things roll differently in Ehtashaam’s house, so it is actually quite annoying that in stead of understanding, Umair is causing more troubles for Saira. I totally feel that Saira is mentally & emotionally very strong & she most certainly knows how to deal with her own baggage her way, but the interference of Umair is taking that away from her, which is definitely not needed. Umair at one hand tries to portray that he cares about Saira a lot but on the other hand, he himself fails to understand that everything he says or does doesn’t help Saira at all. Saira on her own is a very strong girl & she doesn’t need an intruder like Umair to fight her battles for her, so I wish Umair understands his position & stop being a pain for Saira. I most certainly believe that the character of Umair has been given unnecessary coverage in this drama & his presence doesn’t really work for me at all. He is coming across as a male version of ‘phappay kutni’ & that doesn’t suit a guy of that age at all because guys don’t really get into nitty gritty of their sisters’ personal lives, so his concerns are forced & unjustified!!!
Ehtashaam is still as arrogant as he is & once again, I will blame Zeenat for that. Every single time I see Zeenat’s character blurting out things in Ehtashaam’s favor where she indirectly tells Saira to accept his mistreatment as her fate, I feel like throwing my TV out of the window. She is so unreasonable & her fear & oppression is self imposed. Zeenat needs to understand that she is a mother & she can control everything, but she chooses to be come a chicken in front of Ehtashaam, that is why Ehtashaam has turned out to be this way & he gets away with everything. All the things Zeenat said to Saira about accepting Ehtashaam’s attitude & nature without questioning him were so bizarre. I wish the character of Zeenat evolves too. Zeenat has lost her own daughter because of Ehtashaam & it is actually quite infuriating that despite knowing about the reality & in stead of confronting Ehtashaam, she is choosing to give him leeway again & again by overlooking his past & present mistakes. Looks like Zeenat will happily lose Saira too but she will choose not to confront Ehtashaam for his irrationality!!!
Amna’s interest in Mehru’s life is another thing that has been coaxed, also, as if Amna wasn’t enough that even Shiraz has become fixated with his neighbors. I would hate to see things becoming ugly & stressful between Ahad & Mehru because after a lot of suffering, they both have found their comfort zones & they are now at a happy place together, where Ahad has already fallen in love with Mehru & Mehru is started to warm up to him, but seems like Shiraz won’t be able to contain himself & he will intrude in Mehru’s life without her consent. I hope to see Mehru & Ahad dealing with Mehru’s past together as a team that too with maturity because that is what is needed. I really hope that Ahad doesn’t back out in a hope to unite Mehru & Shiraz.
Overall, I really really enjoyed watching the last two episodes of Kathputli. There were so many moments that were heart-warming like Mehru & Ahad’s father having a heart-to-heart conversation, also like Ahad giving flowers to Mehru & promising to never hurt her again. There were a few cringe-worthy things that happened too like Saira getting slapped without a reason because that thing could have been & should have been avoided. Another cringe-worthy thing, character & actor in this drama is Umair, his presence is so not required & the acting of the actor make things equally worse. I really really like how the writer has written the characters of Mehru, Ahad, Ahad’s father & Saira, they make this drama really interesting to watch. Sanam Chaudhry is such a brilliant actress & I love how her eyes speak. Farhan Ahmed Malhi has done a brilliant job as Ahad too & I really like the chemistry & the element of respect between the characters of Mehru & Ahad. Shiraz & Amna are also just a couple of fillers who are going to be used to drag the drama but I wish the director doesn’t rely much on them because they’re not appealing enough. Anyways, please share your thoughts about these two episodes of Kathputli.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
PS: Wishing all my beautiful readers out there ‘EID MUBARAK’.
Hope you all have a great day & get to make some amazing memories! :)
Ohkay so, this episode of Thora Sa Aasman was quite interesting like all the previous episodes. I really like how the director has kept a special focus on the pace of the drama. Even though there are so many characters but every single time a new character gets introduced, the old characters along with the new ones are given enough coverage to make the viewers form a bond with them. I like how the director has kept everything quite effortless & everything flows in harmony together, also another intelligent approach of the director that I would like to talk about is the perfect balance that he has maintained in between the contrast of situations as it immediately changes the perspective & the mood of the viewer with a change in every single scene.
Ambar & Rakhsi have become quite good friends & no one around Ambar understands what is it about Rakshi that has impressed her so much that she can’t stop talking about her. Ambar has let everyone around know that she & Rakshi share a very good bond & more than that, Ambar feels for Rakshi because she knows that the circumstances in her life are tough. I like how Ambar has pride in her friendship with Rakshi as well as a sympathy for her friend too, it showcases how Ambar has a very big heart & she is selfless when it comes to the people that she loves. Rakshi is just as much impressed with Ambar & even though she sees her as a good friend, Rakshi is in an awe of Ambar because Ambar has all those things in her life that Rakshi doesn’t.
Haroon Kamal once again made an entry & his brief interaction with Ambar was enough to let us know that he is just the same person he was years & years ago. He couldn’t keep his eyes of Ambar & that is why he chose to use the collaboration with Mansoor as a means of getting closer to Ambar. Haroon Kamal hated what Baqir Sherazi demanded & how he wanted to bring Shahista in his life but now at this stage, Haroon Kamal is doing the exact same thing or may be even worse because he has his sights at a girl who qualifies to be his daughter. Haroon Kamal is a like a contagious disease because everywhere he goes, he only brings negativity with him. Haroon Kamal didn’t even think twice before planting a seed of doubt in Mansoor’s mind against his brother. Mansoor is the one who has invested a big percentage of money in this business but Masood is like a partner who contributes in the business mentally, just as much as Mansoor does, but just because Haroon told him that he had an upper hand, Mansoor didn’t even question the thought & went ahead with the collaboration & didn’t bother discussing things with Masood, let alone inform him about what he was going to do. Haroon Kamal is quite persuasive & Mansoor seems simple minded in that regard, so I am sure, Haroon will make the most of the situation without even allowing Mansoor to know about the game that he is playing upon him!
Talha has started to give Aneela a little more importance & attention than he should be giving. It is interesting that even though Safiya & Osama are younger than Amber & Talha, they both are far more mature & wise in comparison to their elder siblings. Osama also finds it odd that Talha is being a little more cordial with Aneela as he can already see where things are headed. Talha has started to see Aneela in a positive light & I am sure it won’t take him too long before he will start comparing Ambar with Aneela & will end up seeing Aneela as a far more better & compatible match to him than Ambar. It is ironic because Ambar & Talha believed that the strength of their relationship was the trust they had in each other but sadly, that trust is subsiding while both of them are oblivious of it.
It was amusing that where Haroon should’ve been happy at the mention of Asad wanting Ambar to become his life partner, he got a little uneasy & didn’t seem amused. Haroon must not be in his right state of mind to believe that he will be able to woo a girl like Ambar who is probably half his age. Muneeza’s attitude with Rakhsi was another nudge on the condescending attitude that the standard conscious people have. Muneeza wouldn’t have had any issues if Rakshi had belonged to a sound background or lived in a locality that Muneeza must’ve approved, but just because Rakshi didn’t fit the bill, Muneeza disapproved of the friendship Ambar shares with her & also told her to maintain a distance. I liked how Ambar took a stand for Rakshi because she is clean & bighearted in comparison to Muneeza.
Rakhsi is more or less facing all the problems that her mother Saiqa faced & she is enduring the brunt of all the social pressures that sadly people who belong to such class of society go through. Even though Saiqa compromised on certain limits to give her daughters a better living, she couldn’t change the condition of her family considerably neither she could change the fate of her daughters. One of her daughters got murdered by her husband & Saiqa knows she can not do anything. Even though Rakshi wants to fight, Saiqa’s hesitance is justified as she knows that the world is brutal out there, especially for those who don’t have a support system of men like fathers or brothers, so Saiqa fears that the one who will end up losing everything in this battle will be Rakshi only, that is why she doesn’t want her to start anything. Sadly, the police inspector knows that Saiqa’s family won’t be able to win a case & he left quite an impression, so he is making most out of the situation.
Overall, this episode was quite interesting & I honestly am having a great time watching this drama. Everything has been packaged nicely & now I am eagerly waiting too see Fatima’s side of the story too & as the things are progressing, I have a feeling that she will make an appearance too. I just hope that the director will do justice to her story & character & also, the way things have been dealt with so far, I feel that the director won’t let us down. Imtiaz finally got arrested in this episode and this latest development was covered very convincingly. The medical report has been mentioned several times in the past episodes and was also mentioned quite a few times in this one which definitely helped in drawing attention of the viewers towards its importance. Malik was the one who played an important role in making Imtiaz the monster he is today and watching him taking his support away from him actually reminded me of many such things which we witness very often in reality too! Many prominent politicians rely on men like Imtiaz who do their dirty work for them without asking any questions but when these people get into trouble and their name is associated with that of important political personalities, the people concerned always react the way Malik reacted today. This basically proved that even people like Malik can be pressurized into taking drastic steps which they wouldn’t normally take. And all this happened because a victim chose to be a survivor! If Zebu did not come forward no one could have brought Imtiaz to justice.
Zebu’s reaction to her mother’s disapproval was also a good addition to this track. The meeting between Zebu and Sajo went to show that although Zebu had started looking at things completely differently Sajida was still convinced that at the end of the say Zebu was bound to “suffer” more than anyone else.
Illyas’ visit to Meeran’s house and her reaction clearly showed that she did not want Illyas back in her life. There was a time when she wanted to stay in touch and thought about him but it looks like things have changed in that department. Meeran’s explanation to Arsh and his reaction made for one of the best scenes of this episode. Arsh took what Meeran said to him very seriously and is now making sure that they don’t even talk about his feelings. Every time he meets Meeran, he is emotionally disconnected and talks to her only as a lawyer who wants the best for his client. I am still having a very difficult time relating to the minimal change in Meeran’s accent and personality. She has still not been able to completely move on with life. 7 years is a very long time especially when your life completely takes a U-turn and you are meeting new people every day.
Farhan Saeed, Ahsan Khan and Bushra Ansari have given the most outstanding performances in this drama. Farhan Saeed and Ahsan Khan in particular have been very impressive throughout. Bushra Ansari’s faultless performance does not come as a surprise because she always performs well. Meeran’s presence in the court in the next episode will prove to be another development which will show a woman standing not only for herself but most importantly for someone else without thinking about what people will say about her. Meeran’s character is very likeable but it would have been easier to connect to her character if there was more personality and character growth by this time.
Right now more than anything else, I am looking forward to Zebu’s udaari – watching Zebu put all this behind her and making the most of her potentials. Also, a change in Sajida’s thinking and attitude is much needed.
Apart from showing how a victim’s strength can change the whole scenario this drama also shows how people who are affluent can help those who are less fortunate. If it wasn’t for Munira and Arsh Zebu wouldn’t have come this far. It goes to show that when people decide to help each other selflessly then they can achieve anything at all. (phentermine375.net) Watching Imtiaz regret his decision to take Sajida to court and Zebu’s firm belief that she was on the right track were few of the best moments of this episode.
Udaari is a play filled with positive messages, we definitely need more such dramas. There are plenty of plays which the viewers tune into solely for entertainment but there are hardly any which are there to serve a bigger purpose. The writer Farhat Ishtiaq has penned down the script of Udaari very intelligently without sensationalizing an issue which is unfortunately very often mishandled by our writers. The director Mohammad Ehteshamuddin has extracted some amazing performances from the cast with a very few exceptions.

Uff-ho! Just a dream, rather a nightmare! With the cliffhanger-ish ending we were given to the previous episode, I thought Bari Sahab was to finally learn of the romance between Mannat and Shahmeer but it was only a bad dream. Bari Sahab is still in the dark but Ms. Busybody Alisha sees Mannat and Shahmeer together and has Mannat confide in her.
This episode focused more on Shahzeb and Alisha than my liking. Sorry mein itnay sawaal kar rahi hoon but mein iss ko apna ghar samajhti hoon. That being Alisha’s pet line, she learns more and more about Shahzeb and his family and I could see the strikes build up in her mind which is why I was not surprised when she suggested to Shahzeb that they live in Islamabad and that she could not live in this haveli. Rewind a bit, and a gleeful, skipping Alisha seemed to be in love with Shahzeb’s village. Cringe, cringe, cringe – that’s what I felt in all the scenes covering Alisha’s exploration of the village. Playing with the children, playing with the goats, hugging the children and hugging the goats – I mean, really?! I guess the green grass, children and goats were not enough to make Shahzeb’s village alluring enough for her to want to stay.
Mannat’s husband’s murder – Strike 1, Zainab telling Alisha that if a woman expresses her love for a man here it can lead to death – Strike 2, and Shahzeb’s conversation with her when he tells her that women are not encouraged to express their likes and dislikes and the long standing quarrel between Bari Sahab and Sikander – Strike 3. Out – goes Alisha’s fantasy of living in the village. Alisha did make sense though when she questioned that when Bari Sahab has so many lands then why not forego the school for due to the tussle between her and Sikander, it is the village children who suffer. What Shahzeb said in reply is the sad reality that it is not about how many lands they own but about their izzat.
Bari Sahab is not thrilled with Alisha’s presence at the haveli. Kaun kurri hai, kithun chuk laya hai had me cracking up. Waaqayi, kithun chuk laya hai, pray tell! Seeing how Shahzeb stands up to Bari Sahab for Alisha and then pondering over her friend’s words, Bari Sahab is beginning to warm to the idea of a match between Shahzeb and Zainab. I wonder why there is the constant reminder of the age difference between Zainab and Jahanzeb? True she does not look much older than Mannat but then she does not look much younger than Jahanzeb either so what is the deal here?! Given how much Bari Sahab loves Zainab and as both are her sons I am hoping she will mention both sons to Zainab and even if she presents Shahzeb as a potential husband, I hope Zainab is able to say it is Jahanzeb she wants to marry but nahin! Zainab ki umar nikalti ja rahi hai, so I suppose Bari Sahab will broach the topic of marriage soon again and if Zainab can get wed to Jahanzeb – then the drama is over. Sigh.
Rafiq is arrested and despite being beaten up by the police, his lips are sealed. Bari Sahab is ruthless when she suggests that Rafiq be killed so he can not rat out Jahanzeb. I liked how the suggestion shocked Jahanzeb (momentarily – but still!) but then he warms to the idea too. Rafiq’s wife’s statement to the police leads to Jahanzeb’s arrest and it remains to be seen whether he will be found guilty or let free soon. Sikander does not believe in striking when the iron is hot which would have been the chance to kill Shahzeb when he came to their house to offer his condolences rather he seems to be waiting very patiently for an opportunity to truly harm Bari Sahab and her family.
I had binge watched the first 5 episodes and while they were interesting, there were moments when my interest wavered. I enjoyed watching today’s episode and was surprised when I realized it had ended. The promos had sort of laid out the story to me till this point but I am waiting to see what happens post Jahanzeb’s arrest. Even though Zainab seems a bit too comfortable barging into Jahanzeb’s room and thoughts, I do like the chemistry between the two and hope they end up together soon but that does not seem likely. Zarnish Khan, Kamran Jillani and Asma Abbas continued to impress me with their acting in this episode. Love seeing Asma Abbas in this role – she truly does come across as the headstrong, ruthless Bari Sahab who presents one side to the world and a more loving, doting side to her own. I did find the whole frolicking in the village scenes between Shahzeb and Alisha extremely forced and noticeably so since both Zain’s and Sabeeka’s acting is really mediocre at best!
I knew you were trouble, trouble, trouble! – not to steal Taylor Swift’s words but seems like film wali Alisha is going to cause trouble at the haveli, going by the promo for next week’s episode. Wonder where Zainab and Jahanzeb’s track will lead from now and how soon before Jahanzeb is released. I am finding Laaj a decent watch so far – what about you? Would love to hear your thoughts!
“Tumhe kya lagta hai sirf tum hi mujhe Allah se mang sakte ho?”
“Nahin mein janta hu tum tu lur ke bhi mujhe la sakti ho!”
Wow!! wow!! wow!! What an ending! This was the kind of ending which makes you forget every other ending you have seen till date not only because Mohid survived but most importantly because of the last scene! This last scene proved that Anmol is still the same person she was so many years back and that these two are a match made in heaven. If the episode ended with Anmol sitting by Mohid’s bed side confessing her love and the change in her personality it wouldn’t have been gratifying enough. Even after vowing not to fight with anyone else ever again, Anmol went back to being herself after a few months! Faiza Iftikhar gave this drama an ending which was just as unconventional as this love story! Thank you for not making a typical bechari out of Anmol. Anmol didn’t think she was manhoos, also ama did not blame Anmol for what happened so three cheers for that!
I found myself counting seconds today, eagerly waiting for this episode to go on air and after watching it I can safely say that it was worth the wait! I am certain that I am not the only one who could not hold back the tears while watching this episode. Anmol (Mehwish Hayat) nailed every single scene tonight, she made me cry and laugh all at the same time! The scene at the mazar yet again was shot and written beautifully. It was very effective and endearing. Mohid’s mother’s visit to Anmol’s house and Anmol’s behaviour all through this ordeal went to show that Anmol was stubborn right till the end! She only got convinced when she was ready. Saba Hameed performance when ama goes to convince Anmol to go to the hospital was simply brilliant. This was one of the many scenes in tonight’s episode which made you forget you were watching a drama.
Dil Lagi also had a strong supporting cast to its credit with Saba Hameed, Imran Ashraf and Asma Abbas standing out the most. Dastagir’s character gave the viewers something to laugh about even in the most emotional episodes. Saba Hameed’s acting was just as outstanding as the character assigned to her.
Nadeem Baig, Faiza Iftikhar and Six Sigma Plus proved that they make the perfect team; I will be looking forward to their next project together. Dil Lagi was one of the best drama serials of this season and perhaps the best love story of this year. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not watched it.
I would like to thank all those wonderful people who read the reviews every week and gave their feedback. The discussions here made the experience even more exciting. Do share your thoughts about this ending. I am over the moon after watching it, what about you?
Life in plastic, it isn’t always fantastic! Although glamour is directly associated with the world of showbiz but very often there are times when our glamorous actresses & actors have to compromise on their styling, make-up and outfits because a certain role which they are enacting in a drama does not allow them to look glamorous. Looking very attractive at times can undermine the effect a character might have on the viewers. Since television is an audio visual medium therefore the outlook of the characters in dramas is just as important as their dialogue delivery and the body language. A character which is going through a difficult phase in life must look like it is going through the worse otherwise the viewers will have a difficult time identifying with the characters no matter how powerfully penned down they are. Also, certain characters need a specific outlook which might not always be very glamorous.
While our drama industry is filled with actors who are more than willing to give up their glamorous looks to translate their characters more flawlessly on screen, there are however some who find it impossible to allow glamour to take a back seat. These actors who are very keen on looking glamorous on screen either opt for roles which are glamorous or make sure that their make-up and styling is on point even when their characters are not supposed to look very attractive. All these actors are immensely talented and have given some memorable performances in their career but they have hardly been seen in roles in which they had to give up their glamorous looks altogether.
Here is a list of A-list actors who haven’t yet been able to give up glamour even though they have been in the drama industry for a considerable amount of time.
Fahad Mustafa:
Fahad Mustafa wasn’t one of the “pretty boys” when he started his career because he focused on his acting more than his looks. He dared to experiment with his looks and left glamour far behind when he starred in Mein Abdul Qadir Hoon but lately he has groomed himself a lot and he clearly wants to be known for his good looks more than his performances. This is the reason why he chose to play the arrogant, rich Sikandar in Kankar because although Sikandar’s character was not perfect but there was tons of room for putting on make-up. Also, his role in Doosri Biwi which was a drama from his own production house was that of a man who was very “wanted”! Fahad Mustafa made sure he looked very charming in this role as well. Fahad wears just as much make-up as his heroines because according to him in our industry you need good looks to survive since talent alone can’t take you much further.
Ayesha Khan:
Ayesha Khan has been associated with dramas for the longest time now and in this long career there isn’t a single drama in which Ayesha Khan wore minimal make-up or did not style her hair. Even in Parsa when her character went through a complete personality change, the make-up was always on point although that character did not require a glamorous look. Every other play which Ayesha Khan has played required a glamorous or a stylish outlook. In drama serial Bari Aapa although she played the role of a simple girl but she was someone who always made sure she looked pretty for her husband. Recently, in Mann Mayal, Ayesha Khan was shown flaunting her wardrobe, hairstyle and make-up even in those scenes which suggested that she just woke up or was about to hit the pillow at night!
Imran Abbas:
Imran Abbas might not admit that he wears makeup but we all know that the camera doesn’t lie. In the play Dil-e-Muztar there were times when Imran Abbas’ lip color was more prominent than that of Sanam Jung’s. Imran Abbas is another actor who always wears a lot of make-up and is very conscious about his looks. The only time he did not look all made up was in the play Akbari Asghari, but other than that in every other play he makes sure to wear a blush on & a proper eye makeup including mascara. Imran also sports a lip gloss & at times a lipstick which is usually very prominent. He is also one of those actors who are blessed with good looks yet they think they can’t do without all the make-up.
Saba Qamar:
Saba Qamar is one of the most prettiest faces of our drama industry & she is a very powerful actor at that too but in every single drama, Saba Qamar makes sure that her hair remain voluminous & her makeup looks fresh as new. In Digest Writer, where Fareeda spends a chunk of her life unhappy with her husband, her glamour most certainly didn’t tell a tale of a dysfunctional marriage. In Sangat, where Saba played the role of a rape victim, her curls remained tight & her makeup was flawless throughout, which most certainly didn’t do justice to the predicament of a rape victim. Saba is a beautiful girl & she can totally do without makeup, especially in the dramas which are more on the mature themes where her character is going through a very hard time because in such scenarios, no makeup look is what will allow the viewers to genuinely feel for what her character is going through.
Osman Khalid Butt:
I don’t ever remember Osman Khalid Butt on screen in a drama without proper make-up and his beard and hair right in place. Even when in drama serial “Goya” he was in the hospital for days, his beard was well taken care of & his foundation stayed put! Osman Khalid Butt surely does not need so much of make-up to look good on screen because he is good looking enough as it is and would even look great in a casual look with no gelled back hair, no proper shave, no cake faced foundation, zero kajal, no mascara and heavy contouring, which further enhances his already chiseled features.
Bushra Ansari:
Bushra Ansari’s name is a brand in itself. She is a veteran actress who has garnered so much of experience over the years but despite putting in all the effort in her acting to make it intense & power-packed, she also keeps a heavy hand at makeup, so much so that it seems unjustified. In drama serial Jhoot, she is playing a role of a well-groomed lady, so her glamorized look goes well with her character but in drama serial Udaari, where her character was mourning the death of her husband, her face was packed on with a thick layer of foundation. Yes, a little bit of coverage using the makeup is a need of the camera, but to showcase a glamorized version of a character all the time is most certainly not needed.
Faysal Qureshi:
Faysal Qureshi has been a part of the Pakistani showbiz for a very long time now & he is probably one of those few actors who don’t hold back when it comes to experimenting with the looks for the sake of different characters that they play, but Faysal Qureshi also falls in the list of those actors who rely heavily on makeup, despite not needing it at all. In recent dramas of his, like Bashar Momin & Mol, Faysal Qureshi’s makeup was so overdone to an extent that even the filters couldn’t defuse the thick layer of foundation & warm toned eye-shadows that he was wearing.
Sohai Ali Abro:
Sohai Ali Abro is a glam doll without a shadow of doubt. She concentrates a lot on her make-up, hair and outfits even if she is playing a role which does not leave a lot of room for glamour. In drama serials Rishtey Kuch Adhoore Se and Bhabi Sohai Ali Abro made a special effort to give her looks as much style as possible. Her hair is always properly made up and her clothes are always stylish even if they are simple.
Armeena Rana:
Armeena undoubtedly has a very pretty face & it is obvious that she doesn’t need that much of makeup but she pays more attention to being glamorous than the situation that her character is going through. In Mohabbat Abb Nahi Hogi, Armeena’s character goes through a very tough phase where she leaves her husband’s house & lives in tough conditions where she finds it hard to fulfill the basic necessities like food, but throughout her hardships, the things that didn’t falter were the Kohl in her eyes & the straightening of her hair. Amreena can look totally beautiful in minimal makeup because she is naturally very pretty, but she chooses to focus a little too much on looking glamorous than being realistic as per the demand of her character.
Yasir Mazhar:
Yasir Mazhar is a brilliant actor but unfortunately his over dependence on thick foundation and hairstyles which give a very made up look fail to give him the perfect look needed to make his characters more presentable on screen. His outlook in Bashar Momin, Mausam and more recently in Zara Yaad Kar qualifies him for this list because if there’s one thing that remained consistent in all of his projects, is his dependency on the bronzer!
Sanam Chaudhry:
Sanam is not only pretty, she is a very talented & gifted actor too but it is not a secret anymore that she relies on makeup a little too much. No doubt her makeup artist does a great job where they use makeup as special effects to elaborate the mindset of her character in a certain situation, but at times it seems a little too made up & gives you a feeling that she could’ve relied on a no-makeup look to make her ordeal seem real & genuine. Sanam’s character went through a lot of sufferings in a drama serial Tere Mere Beech starting from divorce to death of mother to her becoming suicidal, but her foundation to her contour to her blusher to her eyebrows, everything remained on-fleek.
Noor Hassan:
From heavy contouring to bronzing to eyebrow filling & a face packed with foundation, Noor Hassan goes overboard when it comes to makeup & styling. He can most certainly do without makeup as he has good looks but he gives out a clear message that he is not comfortable in his own skin. Every single time in every single drama, Noor Hassan looks machine washed & pressed to an extent that he ends up looking monotonous & makes it feel that he walked from one drama set to another because he is always so prim & proper in all his dramas, irrespective of the characters that he is playing. In Aabro, where he spent years & years in difficulty & bad-luck, where he became a persona non grata for his family but the thing that only seemed to have stayed by his side & worked for him was his makeup & hair-styling team!
Hareem Farooq:
Yes, Hareem Farooq’s makeup has improved over the years but we still haven’t forgotten the days when she sported a Casper look in drama serial Mausam. She was white-washed to emphasize on the fact that she was the pretty one but the whiteness of the white foundation was a little too white for the viewers to handle. In Dusri Biwi, where she was seen crying buckets over her husband’s betrayal & second marriage, her straighented hair never lost their straightening & her face makeup never seemed to fade away. In Diyar-e-Dil, where her character matured & she became a mother, that was the only time when she chose to give her character a realistic look because she couldn’t rely much on the makeup & that was the time when she looked the best in comparison to all drama that she had previously done.
Hina Bayat:
Hina Bayat is an elegant & beautiful lady. She can look equally beautiful on the camera without the makeup too because I remember the scene from Mata-e-Jaan where she had absolutely no speck of makeup on her face & she not only looked 10 years younger but absolutely gorgeous as well. In Aunn Zara, Hina sported a very neat look with a tad bit of kajal & that was enough to enhance her beauty but since then, she has focused a little much on the glam side & has made it a priority, which at times doesn’t suit the age of the character that she is portraying.
Iqra Aziz:
Iqra Aziz is one of those actresses who loves to play damsel in distress but very conveniently, that distress is covered with a thick layer of foundation & a lot of makeup, leaving no room for the distress to peak through. Iqra is quite a talented actress but at times where she can go overboard with her expressions, she goes overboard with her makeup & hair-styling too. No matter how tough the conditions for her might be, her curls never lose their intensity & her blusher doesn’t lose its vibrancy. In Muqaddas, there were certain times where Iqra was seen with no makeup & it actually showed her confidence as an actor but after that, in dramas like Mol & Deewana, where she had her fair share of distress, her makeup didn’t let the signs of it show on her face.
Danish Taimoor:
Danish Taimoor is also one of those actors who are very talented and versatile but they cannot compromise on their looks. Danish Taimoor easily passes for one of those male leads who look just as “pretty” on screen as their heroines. Danish Taimoor concentrates on his looks so much that his styling and dressing very often distract the viewers from his acting & he happens to be the one who wears more highlighter than the heroine he is paired with!
Saboor Ali:
Saboor Ali cried buckets of tears in drama serial Beqasoor but her eye make-up stayed intact right till the end. Even when her character was going through the hell, the heavy eye make-up stood out more than the troubles her character was facing. Saboor Ali is young and attractive but somehow she is also one of those actresses who cannot go with a no make-up look when the scene and the situations demand just that.
Feroze Khan:
Feroze Khan’s perfectly shaped eye brows, hairstyle which is always very “cool” and the shimmer on his face in drama serial Gul-e-Rana make him eligible for this list although he only has two drama serials to his credit.
Sami Khan:
There is no denying the fact that Sami Khan knows how to translate his characters impeccably on screen through his acting but he fails to keep a balance when it comes to the looks he sports while playing these characters. Like all the other kens in this list, he too is known for going overboard with make-up and styling. Most of the times he has so much gel on his hair that you are tempted to take a shampoo and wash it all off! And the make-up on his face makes you want to take a sponge and wipe it clean.
So, here is the list of all these Barbies & Kens of our drama industry. The sad part is that all these actors are beautiful people who would look just as fabulous without all the make-up and styling yet they are not comfortable with letting go of glamour because they don’t feel the need to walk an extra mile to make their on-screen characters look as closer to reality as possible. Please do let us know your thoughts about these Barbies & Kens & feel free to add more names to the list too.

When it comes to being associated with the showbiz, it is imperative that those who’re in this industry have to have a strong connection with the glamour because most of the times, it is the demand of the camera & also, it turns out to be a comfort zone of the people who face camera every single day of their lives. Being glamorous is a part of the showbiz industry but when it comes to our dramas, quite often we see such characters that do not require being glamorous at all because we have a vast range of characters that our actors end up playing, which depict Pakistani women from all the walks of life & from all the age brackets.
Most of the times, the characters that are showed on screen end up looking far from reality because the actors that are playing those roles chose to give them the treatment that do not sit well with the viewers due to them being overly glamorous because it suddenly takes away the factor of naturalness & reality from character. It somehow also depicts the insecurity of the actor playing such a character who might not be a bit too comfortable in their own skin but fortunately, we have a handful of very talented actresses who not only own their skin, who not only own their real-self in front of the camera, but also own their characters because of the realistic treatment they give to them which is far from being glamorous & this happens to be the reason why people end up falling in love with the characters that they play & also get impressed with their vision & maturity as actors.
There are quite a few actresses who have made sure to keep their looks as simple, realistic & natural as possible, because for them, it is the acting that matters. Here’s a list of those amazingly talented actresses in no particular order:
Samiya Mumtaz:
Samiya Mumtaz, one of the finest actors of our industry, is a character actor, which is why we never see her giving such a treatment to her appearance that wouldn’t match the nature of the characters that she plays. Samiya Mumtaz makes sure to keep things as closer to reality as possible, that is why, in stead of getting distracted by her appearance or looks, viewers feel connected to her characters immediately because of her acting as Samiya’s entire focus is on her performance & is not on glam-ming herself up, which most of the time wouldn’t gel well with the characters that she plays, like that of Saba in Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishaan, Rasheeda in Sadqay Tumhare & Sajida in Udaari.
Mahira Khan:
Mahira Khan is very selective about the projects she chooses to be in because she takes her work very seriously. Her looks in dramas like Hamsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat and Sadqay Tumhare were completely in line with the roles she was playing and the situations her character was in. When there is no need for make-up Mahira Khan is A-okay with minimal styling and make-up whether she is working in a drama or a film.
Sanam Baloch:
Sanam Baloch, is another one of those very few young actresses who focus more on the acting & don’t put much energy into looking glamorous all the time. Sanam Baloch’s effortlessness in both acting & her appearance is what made her such a strong actress. Sanam has played a lot such characters which demanded a no-makeup look & she flaunted her natural beauty with her raw face, with a lot of confidence because Sanam Baloch knows that by the end of the day, it is the acting that makes a mark & leaves an impact.
Samina Peerzada:
A veteran actor who is well aware of the the beauty that she embodies, that is why we saw her confident in her own skin in dramas like Durr-e-Shehwaar & Shehr-e-Zaat where the demand of her character didn’t allow her to have a speck of makeup on her face & Samina Peerzada owned those characters because of the way she kept things natural. Samina Peerzada can be quite experimental with her looks but she is also one of those actresses who don’t mind sporting a natural look as far as they compliment the character that she is playing.
Maya Ali:
Even though Maya Ali can sport a glamorous look in photoshoots & award functions, but when it comes to dramas, Maya’s no make-up look in a lot of her projects has helped the viewers connect to the roles that she plays immediately. She is more than okay and comfortable in a neatly tied braid and only enough make-up which is needed to meet the needs of the camera and the scene.
Sanam Saeed:
Sanam Saeed happens to be one of those few young actresses who rely solely on their acting in the dramas & don’t really put much thought into the glam side of their job. As far as photo-shoots & the modelling side of the spectrum is concerned, Sanam Saeed has proved that she can carry versatile & dolled up looks too but when it comes to dramas & acting, she makes sure to keep her outlook as natural & as simple as possible, in order to depict a character of any regular Pakistani girl flawlessly. If we take a closer look at her work in Daam, Mata-e-Jaan, Mera Naseeb, Firaaq or Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Sanam Saeed has followed the same pattern of keeping her character looking as natural & as simple as possible, which showcases her focus & confidence in her acting more than the superficial appearance.
Ayeza Khan:
Ayeza Khan glams up for award shows and functions but when a character she is playing on screen does not allow her to wear too much make-up she is perfectly alright with it. Her no make-up look and barely any styling in drama serial Adhoori Aurat went to show that she feels very comfortable in her own skin!
Sajal Ali:
Sajal Ali is another actress who is hardly ever seen wearing too much make-up. She knows how to keep it natural by wearing nude shades of eye make-up and very thin liner which accentuates her eyes but does not stand out because she plays the roles of a young girl most of the times, so she makes sure to give her character the right treatment which sync well with the age of the character that she is trying to portray.
Sania Saeed:
Sania Saeed, an actor with a lot of experience, knows exactly how the camera perceives her face, that is why Sania makes sure to give her character the treatment that it deserves. Where we saw her all dolled up as Bari Sarkar in Aseerzadi, we are now getting to see her as a simple Pukhtoon housewife in Sang e Marmar & the treatment she has given to both these characters is completely different & shows her command over her work & her experience as an actor. In the initial stages of her career, Sania Saeed barely wore any makeup because she was confident about herself as an actor.
Arij Fatyma:
Arij Fatyma is blessed with a very cute face and tons of confidence! She knows when to glam up for her role and when to keep it natural. Using the right kind of foundation and applying only enough make-up which suits the role is a trick Arij Fatyma is well aware of. The character of Bareera in Aik Pal goes through a complete transformation, where from being a very modern girl always clad in makeup she turns into someone who chooses an entirely different path in her life & both these phases were perfectly portrayed by Arij Fatyma.
Syra Yousuf:
The only time Syra Yousuf wore slightly more make-up on screen was in drama serial Mera Naseeb even in that play when her character was going through tough times her look completely changed. Syra Yousuf isn’t seen wearing a lot of make-up even in award functions. The natural look suits her and she knows it!
So, here’s the list of all these actresses who according to us keep their looks as natural as possible & give their characters a very realistic feel with a realistic portrayal to add more depth in their performances. Please do let us know your thoughts & feel free to add more names to the list.
