Humayun Saeed replying to Ahsan’s question that does being married at a early age helped them in industry, mentioned that “A person learns how to act properly after getting married. I haven’t done any courses of acting, I have worked with experience. On a serious note, I think being a married actor helped me a lot because you get serious about your work. You do your work with responsibility.”
“When I was getting married I was working with Humayun on a project, I told Humayun that I’m getting married. He just gave me a strange look and didn’t replied, but I think it helped me too”, said Fahad Mustafa.
There are many gifted Pakistani actors who have recently and in the past nailed negative roles. It takes a lot of courage for an actor to take up a role that will make the viewers hate their character altogether. There are some actors who played these negative roles so well that they were continuously seen playing such roles. There are others who understand the importance of experimenting with different roles. Such actors made sure that after doing a negative character, they did something entirely different. There are also those actors who have either never played an out-and-out negative character or have not been seen playing such a character for a long time. Even though these actors are considered the best in the industry but somehow they shy away from playing negative characters.
Some of these actors have lately focused entirely on playing likable characters and others prefer playing grey characters which are easier to feel for and understand. All of these actors, in our opinion, are completely capable of playing negative characters therefore we would love to see them in roles that give the viewers a chance to see their versatility.

Sami Khan is an exceptional actor who can effortlessly make the viewers fall in love with and relate to his characters. He is also one of those few actors on this list who have actually done a variety of roles. He has even played characters that were negative, to begin with, but then they redeemed themselves. It won’t be wrong to say that he excels in translating such characters on screen. He has however never played an out-and-out negative character which the viewers had a reason to hate. Since Sami Khan understands his characters so well and his portrayals are always brilliant, we would love to see him in a character such as the one played by Omair Rana in Pyar Ke Sadqay or Adnan Siddiqui in Mere Pass Tum Ho. Sami Khan has the screen presence and acting ability to make such characters come alive on screen. We are convinced that if Sami Khan chooses to play such a character, he will leave everyone in awe.
Mahira Khan
We have all seen Mahira Khan playing more or less similar roles in dramas. On the big screen, Mahira Khan has often experimented but we have never seen her playing an absolutely negative character in any of her projects. Even though Mahira has a certain style of acting that is perhaps more appropriate for the kind of roles she plays but we are pretty sure that under the direction of a capable director, Mahira Khan can excel in playing a negative character. Since she is already thinking about making a comeback to dramas, it would be such a great idea to do so with a character that we have never seen her play on television. We have seen some really interesting negative roles even in dramas therefore we are pretty sure that our writers can pen down a role that would be perfect for this comeback on television.
Hira Mani
Hira Mani has got herself recognized as one of the leading ladies of the Pakistani drama industry in a short span of time. She is really conscious of the kind of projects she takes up. She makes sure that every time she is part of a project, the characters she plays are different from one another. Even then, she hasn’t even once played a negative character. It is quite evident from her interviews that she chooses the kind of characters she can relate to and perhaps that is the reason why negative characters have never appealed to her. She was even offered to play the role Hania Aamir did later on in the drama serial Dil Ruba. Well, we are glad that she did not opt for this particular character since that wasn’t the kind of negative character we want to see Hira Mani playing. Even a negative character should have a certain kind of appeal and depth which that character was definitely lacking. Most often the negative characters for females are not written well, we hope that one of the writers can pen down such a character which Hira Mani would like to translate on-screen.
Humayun Saeed
Humayun Saeed played a negative character in the drama serial Kaafir but lately, we have been watching him choose the kind of roles that have made the viewers fall in love with his characters and the actor of course. Even though we truly love the choices Humayun Saeed has made recently, we do feel that watching him play a role such as that of Shehwar will definitely be exciting. Interestingly enough everyone around him also felt the same way when the casting for Mere Pass Tum Ho was being finalized but Humayun Saeed was the one who chose to play Danish’s character and made it memorable. We are certain that if Humayun Saeed takes up a negative role with the same intent and dedication, he can make it memorable as well. Like many other actors who mesmerized the viewers with such positive roles and then surprised them with their portrayals in negative roles, we feel that Humayun Saeed has what it takes to surprise the viewers in a similar manner.
Sonya Hussyn
Sonya Hussyn is another actress who has extraordinary acting skills but it won’t be wrong to say that she has always made a conscious effort to choose roles that are not negative. Even in Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida, the writer constantly tried to make the viewers feel sorry for Ulfat’s character ignoring the fact that she was greedy enough to ‘sell’ her husband. There is no denying the fact that she can indeed make the viewers feel for her characters. Sonya Hussyn also refused to play Mehwish’s role in Mere Pass Tum Ho because according to her it showed women in a bad light. She was perhaps talking about cheating because otherwise, Ulfat was just as greedy as Mehwish. Sonya Hussyn is definitely someone who does not want to play a negative character for her own reasons; this is perhaps her way of being a feminist. We do feel however that a well-written negative character would be perfect for Sonya since she knows how to breathe life into all the characters she chooses to play. We hope that this year Sonya Hussyn will use her great acting skills to give us one such memorable character.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi has been a part of the drama industry for a considerable amount of time now. In the initial years, she used to experiment a lot and that has definitely continued to date because she is one of the very few actresses who makes sure that none of her projects or roles are similar. Yumna Zaidi has definitely done some negative characters at an early stage of her career in dramas like Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se and Mausam, however, during that period she was very much underrated. Urwa has been very selective about her work and because she continues to work in films, she does not really take many TV projects, this is exactly why after Udaari she was seen in Mushk after so many years. She has done negative character at the beginning of her career in the drama serial Madiha Maliha but it was a very typical story based on sister rivalry. Urwa Hocane should definitely take up a negative role but since she has matured over the years especially with her project choices, it would definitely be interesting to see her nailing such a character.

Saboor further said that “I don’t know till when these beauty standards will be a part of our lives. Hum TV is celebrating its 16th Birthday. The Channel is interviewing different celebrities.
They had a special conversation with the Leading Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
Mahira Wished Hum TV a very happy birthday.
Talking to Hum Tv the actress said that Hum TV is her Home. She said that she is a hum tv child and it has a special home in her heart.
She said, ” It is my home and I am the daughter of Hum TV. Whenever I go to work elsewhere, I miss my home very much”.
Speaking on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Hum TV, she said that Hum TV is a big family in which everyone cares for actors. She further added, ” Hum TV provides a safe environment. People listen to you here, which is very important,”. She said that the entire team including Sultana Apa and Duraid Qureshi works very hard. When they do the award shows, Sultana Apa stays there till the end of the rehearsal.
In response to a question, Mahira Khan said ” I am always scolded by Momina Duraid but never by Sultana Apa as she knows how to handle me.”
Pakistan’s one of the top drama channel Hum TV is celebrating its 16th birthday.
A star-studded ceremony was held in Islamabad on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Pakistan’s leading entertainment channel Hum TV.
The event was hosted by Hum News Morning Show host Shifa Yousafzai and actor Ahmed Ali Butt, who is known for his unique comedy. The 16th anniversary celebrations of Hum TV were attended by many famous stars associated with the showbiz industry including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Naimal Khawar, Hareem Farooq, Farhan Saeed, Sara Khan, Vaniza Ahmed, Momina Duraid, President Hum Network Sultana Siddiqui. , CEO Hum Network Duraid Qureshi and DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar were present. Hum TV’s birthday party was shown live on Hum TV, Hum Masala and Hum Star.

Tonight’s episode of Mushk was Romance/thriller/mystery all mixed in one, it ended too soon and I must admit that even with so much going on, I am most interested in the love triangle more than anything else right now. There were quite a few meaningful scenes and situations in this latest episode. Yet again, the writer highlighted another social issue by showing the fake peer’s conversation with his wife in a way that was rather amusing. There was finally some character development in Shayan and Mehak’s track. Dada also made an appearance in this episode. I am also waiting to watch how chota Chaudhry’s track is wrapped up.
My favorite conversation tonight was the one between Adam and his mother. Guddi’s willingness to ‘gift’ the only man she had ever loved unconditionally over to Mehak showed that she had learned to give without questioning from Adam! Guddi’s track has been penned down brilliantly since the writer chose to be an advocate for a flawed person and he managed to make the viewers fall in love with her. I think the fact that most of us find ourselves rooting for Guddi even with all her flaws makes Imran Ashraf’s character exceptional and Urwa Hocane’s performance simply unforgettable.
Adam’s Confusion
There was a time when all Adam wanted was to spend the rest of his life with Mehak and now that he has that opportunity, he is not sure what he should do. For once Adam needed time to answer Mehak’s question and although he offered her his ‘jaan’, he wasn’t sure if he could make the commitment she wanted. Adam has fallen for Guddi and I must say that this particular track has been carried forward in the most convincing manner. Just when Adam thought he could allow himself to fall in love with someone else, Mehak asked him for a favor which made things really difficult for him once again. This is the kind of conflict that piques the interest of the viewers especially at a point when the story is headed towards its ending. Mehak has always asked Adam for the biggest favors as if he owes it to her. Their childhood scenes shown in some of the previous episodes helped me understand why she feels so comfortable asking him for so much. Adam did not want Mehak to go ahead with the divorce and he was sane enough to question her about her reaction when she witnessed Shayan’s nikkah. This is yet another thing to look forward to; Adam getting in touch with Shayan to ask him the question which Mehak never asked him.
Adam needed some time and clarity to answer Mehak therefore he decided to make up an excuse. The conversation he had with his mother showed that she knew that he will perhaps be happier with Guddi since right now it seems as if getting married to Mehak will just be a way to support her and make her happy. Adam was more than willing to put Mehak’s happiness before his own before but now perhaps he is thinking about how it would impact Guddi as well. Since he is someone who cannot let people who have expectations from him down, it was easy to understand his state of mind. Imran Ashraf’s performance tonight translated all the different phases Adam went through perfectly.
Guddi’s Character Development
Guddi has taken her revenge and since the last two episodes, she was completely focused on Adam. However, when she heard Mehak asking Adam for that favor, she was sure that Adam will never say no to her. That is why she congratulated her beforehand and for once Guddi was willing to give something up without fighting! She also accepted Adam’s ‘apology’ in advance. Guddi finds Chaudhry’s advances off-putting and she does not feel scared telling him off. She has not once reconsidered her decision to unleash this monster; I would have liked to know what Guddi is thinking right now. I was also hoping that she would at least have one conversation with Roshni and perhaps find out that she unknowingly put her in such a difficult situation. Urwa Hocane deserves due credit for translating her character effectively and effortlessly on screen throughout.
Chaudhry and Zulekha
Zulekha has turned into a lost cause at the moment; it seems that her character will be killed off. Chota Chaudhry has two different sides to his personality, when he is with Zulekha and her brother he is a completely different person. I am wondering how he will eventually be punished. I cannot praise Hassan Ahmed enough for making his character look extremely terrifying on screen. While watching his scenes, it is easy to understand why Zulekha is so scared.
Roshni’s Track
Roshni’s track was impactful in the episodes covering her running away from home and rescue; right now however her track has completely been relegated to the background. One of the previous episodes also hinted that Roshni might be falling for Adam, that aspect of this track has also not been taken forward. I am glad that the focus is on the main tracks but I would like to see more of Roshni as well since she has been such an important part of the story throughout. Roshni’s dialogue when she heard the drum beating outside showed just how scared she still was after everything had happened. This was perhaps also a hint for the viewers regarding what can be expected in the upcoming episodes. There wasn’t a single scene covering Roshni’s reunion with her father, it seemed as if she was also not happy to know that he was well now.
Shayan Remains Undeterred
Quite unexpectedly Shayan used the marriage to put pressure on Muqaddar Khan in a way we couldn’t have imagined two weeks back! He is fierce now, like a man who has nothing to lose. It seems as if after the forced nikkah he feels that nothing worse can happen now and he has a bargaining chip as well. Muqaddar Khan turned to his peer for advice since he was the one who suggested that in order to keep the family inheritance, marrying off his young daughter to Shayan would be the ‘safest’ bet. Muqaddar Khan did not see this coming at all for obvious reasons. This makes me wonder if killing Shayan off and getting the property papers signed by his sister would have been an easier way out for Muqaddar Khan. He would have thought it through if he didn’t rely on the peer so much. It was definitely good watching Shayan stand up for himself for a change!
Final Remarks
Mushk has always left me with so many questions and this episode was the same. We are headed towards a happy ending it seems since there is a chance that Mehak and Shayan might end up together once Adam steps in and talks to Shayan. Guddi and Adam are meant to be together therefore I am looking forward to their union more than anything else. What does the future hold for chota Chaudhry and Roshni? I am waiting to find out.

One of the most talented and accomplished Pakistani actor Imran Ashraf was recently spotted in an interview with “Something Haute”.
Imran Ashraf talking about the ending of drama serial Mushk mentioned that “I have learnt that what is difficulty after finishing Mushk. I’m dishearten because of some points in Mushk. Some scenes could not be shoot because of Covid.”
“I would like to add that we have tried a lot to give our best but sometimes we are helpless. After the 19th episodes things got messed up. We saved it from a big damage but I as a writer know our mistakes”, added Imran.
Further Imran said that “The audience is my boss. I’m trying to show something different. It took two and a half years to write Mushk. Only 4 to 5 episodes of Mushk are left behind. I can’t revel more about Mushk.”
