Asim Raza, a famous director of music videos and commercials has silently started the shooting of his upcoming film. The working title of this film is Ho Mann Jahaan (ہو من جہاں). As per a press report, Asim is targeting to complete this film in sixty five days. The first spell of shooting is done in Governor House of Karachi.
The film stars Mahira Khan, Sheharyar Munnawwar Siddiqi and Adeel Hussain in leading roles. The film is scheduled to release on upcoming Eidul Fitr in July 2015.

Asim Raza, famous Pakistani director has expressed his disappointment with the Lux Style Awards Nominations this year.
The list of nominees did not go down well with the him as he said:
“All I can say right now is that I am most disheartened to see the list of nominations. First of all I am most intrigued to know who are these jurors who are chosen to judge a complex category like Films & Film Music? Quality and excellence in the field of films cannot be judged by just anyone. It is a specialised field just like any other science if not more complex. These judgements cannot be made on the basis of popularity only. A juror’s understanding of this craft needs to be a little higher then that.”
He cites examples of Adeel Husain and Shehereyar Munawar for not having been nominated in the Best Actor category.
“In case of Ho Mann Jahaan there are some major shocks which I am still trying to get over. For example, Adeel Husain’s name not being there in the lead actor category is a complete shocker for me. Not only in HMJ but even in Dobara Phir Se, he performed remarkably well.
“Similarly, Sheheryar Munawar being put in the Supporting Actor category just because he did not get the girl at the end is beyond my understanding. So are we saying that Leonardo DiCaprio should not be considered as main lead in The Great Gatsby because he also did not get the girl at the end?”
He continued to point out further snubs.
Asim said: “HMJ‘s music album which got celebrated even beyond Pakistan was not found worth a nomination in the male singer category by the LSA jury. From Fakhir’s fresh arrangement for Asrar’s ‘Shakar Wandan’ to Atif Aslam’s ‘Dil Kare’, Jimmy Khan’s ‘Barish’, ET’s soulful arrangement for Abu Mohamad Farid Ayaz’s ‘Ghar Nari’, Tina Sani’s ‘Khush Peya Wasse’ to Mai Dhai Band, all got ignored.”
He asked the film industry to start taking “things a little more seriously” in order to work towards better local cinema.
“We must realise that if we want to make cinema substantial in this country then we need to take it a little more seriously and responsibly. Just filmmakers won’t be able to do that job alone. Anyone connected in any way is making a huge impact in conditioning the minds of our audience. Otherwise we should be ready to once again start converting our cinema halls into shopping complexes.”

Even though she was a cancer patient and the doctors didn’t give us any hopes, I was still hopeful about her health. I kept praying for a miracle. I thought I could bear the news, but when my Baji told me, I completely lost it. She passed away on my birthday—I had been fearing it for two days, thinking it might happen on this day. She was unconscious but still breathing. When I heard it, I lost all calm. I don’t think a single moment has passed since without me crying.I didn’t know how my night passed. I was thinking about her during the flight. I spent 15 days with her in December when she was hospitalized. Those 15 days are more precious to me than my whole life, because I shared all my feelings with my mother, and she showered her love on me. I told her how important she was to me and asked her to forgive me for any negligence on my part. My mother also kissed me when I gave her my attention, time, and love. “Asim Jofa with his team had taken up the task for this good cause and we are very happy to announce within less than 48 hours we have successfully created a final prototype of a medical protective suit made according to the guidelines provided by medical experts and thankfully we have gotten it approved by esteemed team of Dr. Seemin Jamali, Executive Director at JPMC. The production starts from tomorrow,” stated the official Instagram handle of Asim Jofa with a video of the ready prototype.

His son Asim Jamil left this mortal world via suicide and it was a shock to the family as well as the world.
When Asim Jamil died, his cousin Arfeen was present there with him. He talked to Urdu Point and shared what actually happened that day. He revealed that Asim has been suffering from depression since childhood. He also had dyslexia and still he memorized 28 paras of the Quran. He was not able to fully enjoy his life in the personal or professional capacity due to his condition.
Arfeen also shared that Asim Jamil was very generous and close to the people of their village. He would spend all his fortune on them and always said not to pray for his long life whenever someone prayed for him. He out of the blue shot himself that day while Arfeen was present and he is still in trauma to lose a cousin like his own brother.

His most notable and long-running appearance on television was in Ainak Wala Jin, where he also appeared alongside his two children, Ajlal and Moattar. Talking to the media, his younger daughter said, “How can a daughter feel after her father’s death? It seems that I have lost my shelter; it’s a painful time for us. I came home from the hospital last night and just got the news that he passed away. He was a loving husband, loving father, and a caring friend. Everyone praises him. He was so kind with his daughters. Till the time he was conscious, he was replying to all the questions. Ultimately, we all have to die, so we should remember our final destination. He used to get sick more often but would recover. This time, he has a severe cardiac arrest along with renal failure at an older age, so he couldn’t recover. Talking about his death, his brother said, “We had a close relationship. I can’t express our relationship in words. He was like a saint, a loving person who used to shower love on everyone. He was a caring person. I have no words to express my grief. Asim was deeply in love with his mother. He was a learned man, who loved to discuss Bullah Shah, and the last thing we discussed was Bullah Shah. When I was leaving him, he just stopped me and said, ‘Let me share another verse of Bhullah Shah with you.’ Asim had no negativity; he was a positive and constructive person. His wife is a great woman who took care of him through thick and thin. She is an ideal lady.”
