90 Years Old Best Friends From India And Pakistan Reunite

Pakistan and India are two countries born out of the same land. The partition and its effects is one topic that will never be discussed objectively between the two due to the added political agendas but it was one of the bloodiest partitions ever to occur with one million dead, hundreds of thousands raped and violence that cannot be described in words. Families were ripped apart and people were uprooted never to come back to their real homes. The last few are left from the generation that actually witnessed the horrors and to see some of them meet the ones they loved is beautiful.

90 Years Old Best Friends From India And Pakistan Reunite

An Indian origin girl in the USA recorded her 90 year old grandfather going to meet his now Pakistani best friend. They were buddies since they were babies but the Pakistani friend had to run away for life during partition and they could never meet again. They met years later in the USA and spent a week together. This was another union of the two kids who are now 90 as they call each other by their childhood pet names and let the younger generation see what people went through.

9 Decisions That Changed Everything!

0

Sometimes we turn back and let our life’s movie run in front of our eyes. We think of all those moments which could have been made memorable, or much less painful, if we had taken that little step_ but we didn’t. Because we were unaware. Unaware of the blessings that awaited us.  When we realize that we wasted an opportunity to have a better life, it’s already too late.

The characters we see on out TV screens everyday also make some decisions , small or big, which change their lives.

1. Pyaray Afzal:

Afzal’s decision to take his friend’s revenge was a life changer. Had he not done that, his family would have taken him back to Hyderabad in time and the whole roller coaster of police and corruption would never have started. He could have had a happy ending.

aff

Had he not stepped out of the car to go back in time and remember his “jharap” with Farah, he could have saved himself from the gun fire.

aff

2.  Aik Nayee Cinderella :

If Meesha had not decided to go to the carnival without her step-mother’s permission she would never have met Mayer and her cinderella story would never have started.

aff

3. Aasmanon Pe Likha:

If Aaliyan had not gone to attend the wedding ceremony of his father’s employee’s daughter, he would never have “ruined” Qudsiya’s wedding, he would never have married her and their filmy love story would never have started.

aff

4. Bilquis Kaur:

After learning about the evil intentions of her brother-in-law, if Soha had not decided to accept Sultan’s marriage purposal,  he could never have taken her to America and she would be stuck with the man who could destroy her life.

aff

5. Daam:

Zara had the choice of marrying the love of her life, Junaid, but she decided not to ruin lives and parted ways with him. She could have married him easily but her spirit of sacrifice did not let her.

aff

6.  Humsafar :

Khirad made two important decisions in her life. The first one was her promise to raise her daughter alone and the second one, going back to Ashar for the sake of her daughter.

Her first decision was due to  the pain of being ridiculed, and the second one was due to the love of her daughter. Both of them had a lot of effects on her life but the second one took her towards happiness.

aff

7. Kankar:

If Kiran had not decided to rebel against her abusive husband, she could never have found happiness. Her whole life would have been wasted trying to find Sikander’s love.

aff

8. Shanakht :

Annie’s decision to wear hijab totally transformed her life. The criticism she had to face was unbearable but she knew that it was the best decision to make. Her life would be incomplete without it and she would have no Shabnakht.

Rohan also faced criticism because of his beard but he is following the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH) and he knows it is a step toward Jannah.

aff

9. Saat Pardon Mein:

If Darakhshandey had married the person her father and brother chose for her and not run off after an actor she was obsessed with, her life would be much better and much less complicated.

aff

I am sure you guys will add more to this list. Feel free to share your point of view.

9 characters who were obsessed foodies…

0

There are certain characters in our dramas who happen to love food more than anything else and most of their scenes are based on either eating food or discussing about it. Infact they ignore everything that is going on around them and continue gobbling the edibles they have. Their names include:

1. Soni from Kabhi Kabhi: Name a single episode when Soni did not have a bowl of edibles in her hand. She never even had a spoon to eat it and even though I tried really hard to peer into the bowl I could never find out the hidden identity of her favourite food. There was nothing more interesting in the show :P

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

2. Saman from Maat: Saman was the laziest person alive when it came to doing house chores but suddenly very active when Faisal arrived in her house. She asked him to bring jalebis and samosas and what not. She was seen in the college canteen often with her friends sipping drinks or eating junk food.

10363682_742425739142062_5933709930592982537_n-Copy

3. Maryam from Badtameez: She was the ultimate foodie. One of her dialogues is, “Mujhe samajh nahi atta koi tention mein khana kese chorr sakta hai?”
She had one true love, after Raameez and that was food. Dieting was impossible for her, as she told her sister Tania. Her character was positive unlike most of the others in this list.

10363682_742425739142062_5933709930592982537_n-Copy

4. Zoya from Dil-e-Muzter: The first time she came into Sila’s house and set her eyes on Adeel, she had actually come for chaye ki patti! Then later she came for other things and brought food items in order to woo Adeel and take Sila’s place.

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

5. Dua from Izteraab: She likes to cook gol rotis, make chutneys and to get fresh vegetables from the “khait khaliyan”. Her life was dedicated to her kitchen making tasty dishes for Jazib jee.

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

6. Jazib of Izteraab: This guy preferred another woman on his wife just because of food, so you know how much of an obsessed foodie he is. He adores gol rotis and the women who cook them too! Jazib’s food-loving nature passed down to his son Tabrez as well.

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

7. Shehzadi from Kis Din Mera Viyah Howega: This girl could eat anything. I doubt she spared the walls of her house or the pots and pans in which food was cooked. Sehri ka time kab ayega? Aftari ka time kab ayega? These were her main dialogues.

10363682_742425739142062_5933709930592982537_n-Copy

8. Aiza from Mirat-ul-uroos: She hated cooking but loved to eat, hence her frequent visits to hotels. She loved parties and wanted perfect catering in each of them. She did her grocery shopping from the top supermarkets as well.

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

9. Aliya from Muhabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai: She ate the mithai which was supposed to be sent to a relative. She forcefully made her friend bring cold drinks for her while at her friend’s  house. She made Romaisa do all the cooking but happily ate everything. Not only her, but her sisters were “paitu” as well.

912d07aea749a6f6a4105a165d8f8305

So the list ends here. What did you think of it? Do tell me in the comments and add other characters as well who are just as obsessed with food.

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

0

Being alive is a blessing , they say . There are times when life appears before you as a bed of roses but just like every bright side has a twin sister known as the dark side , there are OTHER times as well which can make you dwell into existential crisis.

1: When you intend taking over the world and you’re all set but then the oh-you-can-do-it-tomorrow feeling drops by  and you bid goodbye to your motivational spirits .

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

2: When you see your ex getting engaged to someone else and you’re shut inside your room , crying rivers , cursing the couple and listening to -“dill ke armaan ansoon mein beh gaye !”

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

3: When all your diet and workout plans go wrong and all you do is – can’t stop eating !

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

4:When you know you’re multi-talented but none of your world-conquering ideas really work.

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

5:When you see your friends doing great with their social lives and you , on the other hand , sit alone. The idle feels make you realize how you’re so socially awkward ( sighs)

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

6: When all your friends are getting married and you’re still single , ready and hoping to mingle.

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

7: You scrutinize your personality , in search of talents and things you’re good at but ,in vain ! …you’re not even good at house stuff ! :/

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

8:And the most sucking moment is when you’re done with studies but can’t get yourself to decide what to do with your life . Oh the feels here are absolutely despondent !

8 Times You see a loser in Yourself!

These times suck , for they make you question your good for nothing existence and you wonder ” what even am I doing with my life? “

Also practically walking under a ladder could be harmful if something fell on you and you hurt yourself.

Noor Jahan

Noor Jahan was a dark horse among the Pakistani dramas of 2024 that aired on ARY Digital. Starring Saba Hameed and Kubra Khan in the leads, it was written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and directed by Musaddeq Malik. The drama seemed like any saas bahu saga that we see on our screens but it turned out to be a game of chess with a reflection of generational traumas and importance of not only loving but also respecting the girl child. The last scene with an unsaid understanding between Noor Jahan and Noor Bano was a winner for sure.

8 most patriotic dramas of all times

0

With Independence Day just around the corner, I thought I’d compile a list of dramas that boost the spirit of patriotism in me and I am sure, in all of you too. Pakistan is the best country in the entire world_ maybe not in development, maybe not in education, but in patriotism. All the Pakistanis are connected to their roots in one way or another and can never move away for them even if they try. While there are hypocrites who try to undermine Pakistan in every way, there are people who love Pakistan from the bottom of their hearts and above all, there is Allah who will not let us falter until we have complete faith in him.

It was extremely hard for me to choose which show should go at the top. After spending a lot of time thinking, I decided to give the first place to a real story:

1. Sipahi Maqbool Hussain:

ISPR and Interflow Communications Limited presented the story of Sipahi Maqbool Hussain, directed by Haider Imam Rizvi. It is about how Sipahi Maqbool Hussain ended up in an Indian jail and how he was abused for 4 decades for being a Pakistani and denied “Prisoner of war” status. The main lead was Hassan Niazi as young Maqbool Hussain. Other actors were Raja Haider, Batin Farooqui, Riaz Mastana, Reeja and Ghazala Butt.

Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was captured during the 1965 war. He was abused and asked for identity but he kept writing No.335139 as an answer. He was tortured to an extent when even his toe nails and tongue were not spared. He still wrote “Pakistan Zindabad” with his blood. After 4 decades he was sent back in mentally disoriented state but no one from his family, his mother or brother, were alive to receive him. He scribbled his story of abuse in bits and pieces in front of the psychiatrists who attended him. The last scene showed the real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain being given flowers and respects by the army.

1

The actor playing the role of older Sipahi Maqbool Hussain also did a commendable job.

2

The real Sipahi Maqbool Hussain was given a VIP suite by Ex-President Pervez Musharraf. He sleeps on the floor and stays away from bright lights. He likes to remain in the dark corners of the room. Such was the impact of torture on him.

We will always respect you Sir!

2. Alpha Bravo Charlie:

Alpha Bravo Charlie was created by ISPR and Shoaib Mansoor. It is the tale of the friendship between Faraz (Faraz Inam), Kashif (Captain Abdullah Mehmood) and Gulsher (Capt. Qasim Khan). Faraz was the rich and handsome one , Kashif was the funny one and Gulsher was the serious and shy one. Another character is Shehnaz (Shehnaz Khwaja) who had a lot of effects on their lives.

The patriotic spirit this show gave the audience was long lasting. Kashif, who initially was not intensely devoted to the army, proved his worth by killing an entire team of Indian soldiers at Siachen. He lost his arms and legs due to harsh weather conditions.

Gulsher fought the Serbs in Bosnia and was captured. He later tried to run away but was again caught and this time, martyred.

Faraz did not get assigned to any combat but he took part in charity works.

Shahnaz did not stop searching for her husband but could not succeed. She returned to Pakistan. Later she permitted her only son to join the army as well. What a wife and what a mother!

The show aired on PTV but after many years Geo Ent. also aired it.

3.Wilco:

Wilco which aired on PTV was produced by the ISPR alongside 7th Sky entertainment. It was directed by Ahsan Talish and written by Mohammed Ahmed. The cast consisted of some big names; Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Ahsan Talish, Laila Zuberi, Ainne, Amna Sheikh, Beenish Chauhan, Imran Abbas, Zainab Qayyum. The story was deep and there were many sidetracks beautifully woven in. It showed how the army not only defends Pakistan against enemies but also rushes to help during natural disasters. There were some scenes between Imran Abbas’s character and Annie’s character which were cute and funny. Humayun Saeed’s death in the end made the audience sad :( but showed the sacrificial nature of his character. He let the helicopter go without him because he knew that his climb would consume a lot of time. The avalanche could damage the helicopter and kill the injured people inside it. He killed an enemy before being consumed by the storm.

This is the final scene:

Danish Taimoor :

4. Dhuaan:

Dhuaan aired on PTV. Directed and produced by Sajjad Ahmed, the story was originally in the form of an english novel written by the lead actor Ashir Abdul-Azeem himself. He dramatized it later. The other actors include Nabeel (we all know him from Bulbulay ;) ) Asal Din Khan, Abdul-Wajid ,Nazli Nasr and Zubair Khan Achakzai. The five college buddies united in Quetta after many years and made a plan to dedicate their lives to Pakistan. Azhar (Ashir) was already an ASP. The others also trained themselves and learned to use weapons. Eventually they were offered a case of narcotics which was supposed to be kept secret from local police. Then followed a lot of action and thrill and finally after succeeding in their mission, all of them embraced martyrdom. The audience wept as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Kisey da yaar na wichdey” was played in the background.

5. Dastaan:

Hum TV’s Dastaan was based on Razia Butt’s novel and dramatized by Sameera Fazl, Dastaan was a one-of-its-kind serial. Haissam Hussain directed it. The main cast had, Sanam Baloch, Fawad Khan, Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan, Mehreen Raheel, Samina Peerzada and Abdul-Qavi Khan.

Bano was the strongest character I saw on TV. She went against her brother’s wishes to prepare banners for Pakistan movement. She supported the creation of Pakistan with all her heart. She had never even thought her life would take such a tragic turn. After partition of India, Bano’s parents, brothers and sister-in-law were killed. She was kidnapped, tortured, forced to convert to Sikhism and married to a Sikh. Even so, her faith remained unshaken. This drama was a lesson for every Pakistani to acknowledge the sacrifices made for their country and love their country till their dying breath.

6. Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahi Hai:

This ISPR project aired on PTV and Hum TV simultaneously. Asghar Nadeem Syed took the responsibility of writing it and Kashif Nisar handled the diirection. It emphasized on the enemies who are cutting Pakistan from its roots. They are showing Islam as a terrorist religion. The show highlighted Pakistani army’s efforts to rid the country of them. It covered the issues of bombings of mosques, hotels and schools to killing of women who stepped out of their houses only to earn for their orphan children. It showed how some people claim to be religious when they even don’t let their own children (especially daughters) study. The cast included Jibran, Sara Chauhdry, Ayub Khoso,Nauman Ijaz, Ayesha Khan and Irum Akhter. Jibran’s character was a true patriot.

7. Jaan Hatheli par:

The show aired on PTV and Urdu 1. Story and direction was from Syed Husnain Abbas and Shamim Bazil penned it down. It emphasized the war against terror done by the security forces in Balochistan. For a long time, the people of Balochistan have been terrorized and this drama told them that they are a part of Pakistan and Pakistanis don’t abandon their brothers :) The main cast included Asad Malik, Nadeen Baig, Noman Ijaz, Shamoon Abbasi, Madiha Iftikhar and Myra Khan.

8. Sunehre din:

This drama which also aired on PTV was on a much lighter note. It was supposed to inform the viewers about the life of the young cadets of Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul.Saleem Sheikh’s character went against his mother’s wishes to join the army. Had he known what he was getting himself into! The senior officers were pretty harsh on him and the other new guys. But then again, this is the Pakistani army we’re talking about! They got to be tough and well-prepared for any challenge. The scenes that followed were funny and I had a lot of fun watching them along with feeling a little bit sorry for his troubles :P The night before promotion, our hero and his friends took all the revenge they wanted to take. For one night, the seniors transformed into juniors, and the juniors into seniors. Bas phir kya tha? The revengeful feeling could not be suppressed any longer!

This was the list of dramas I find most patriotic. What did you think of the list?

In the end, I would like to say that please pray for your country on this Independence day. Love your country and never utter any bad word against it because it has been made after a lot of sacrifices. The ones shown in Dastaan were hardly 5% of them. Not only before partition, but also after so many years, Pakistani army and the common people are fighting, struggling and laying down their lives against terrorism. The least you can do is love your country and pray for it. What if Pakistan is not as developed as others? What if it has corruption? We are the ones who can develop it. We are the ones who can finish the corruption and the first step has to be taken by you.

Yes! You! The one sitting in front of the computer/laptop reading this. Stop the corruption. Start by not throwing wrappers on the streets. Start by talking politely to your fellow Pakistanis (whatever language they speak). Start by helping the poor. Start by educating yourself and then educating others.

Most importantly, forget that you are an Urdu-speaker, Sindhi speaker, Balochi speaker, Pashto speaker , Punjabi speaker, Kashmiri speaker and so on. The list will never end but your country will (Allah na kare) end if you keep thinking like this. Start introducing yourself as a Pakistani only. You may have a different language, but not a different identity.
“I’m a Pakistani and my language is Urdu/Punjabi/Pashto/…..”

So stay blessed, united and have a wonderful 67th independence day!!

8 exemplary sister-relationships

0

We’ve all been complaining for a while now about the efforts directors and writers to establish sisters as enemies who should keep their husbands locked away. If a sister was the least bit negligent, her husband would definitely be stolen by her sister held a grudge against her from the day she was born. I decided to make a list of sisters from our dramas, who loved each other and set examples.

1. Lubna and Farah from Pyaray Afzal:

Performed by Sana Javed and Ayeza Khan

Farah is bold and sometimes really harsh. Lubna is confident but kind. Both of the sisters light up the screen with their chemistry. Their interactions are sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, yet always succeed in convincing us that they must me real sisters ;)
P.S: I really appreciate that Lubna is trying to make her sister to accept her love for Afzal :P

1

2. Kashaf, Sidra and Shehnila from Zindagi Gulzar Hai:

Performed by Sanam Saeed, Mansha Pasha and Sana Sarfaraz

These three were sisters who had been abandoned by their father for being daughters. But this rejection drew them closer to each other and at last, they proved that it is not shameful to have a daughter. They made their mother proud.

3

3. Tooba and Hiba from Ranjish Hee Sahi:

Performed by Sana Javed and Maya Ali

Tooba and Hiba had a LOT of differences but did those stop them from loving each other to death? No!
These sisters went through many difficult phases in their lives. From the death of their mother to losing their house and then facing people who could harm them but their bond never weakened. Even when Hiba discovered that her sister was in love with the man who had rejected her, she did not have any ill-feelings towards her sister.

4. Maya and Zarminey from Meri Behan Maya:

Performed by Annie Jaffery and Neelum Muneer

How a sister can tear the world apart for another one was beautifully depicted in this serial. Maya got kidnapped by her step-mother’s son and Zarmina struggled with every obstacle to find her.

4

5. Zara, Aasma and Mano from Daam:

Performed by Sanam Baloch, Nimra Bucha and Pariza Hashmi

The chemistry between these three sisters was adorable Mano was mentally challenged and Zara did everything she could to make her happy. Aasma was tensed about her future ans Zara always strenthened her spirit. The bond between these three never failed to make me feel for them and relate to them.

6. Amna and Arfa from Meray Dard ko jo zuban miley:

Performed by Sarwat Gillani and Alishba Yousuf

The story had nothing new to offer but since the beginning these two sisters had amazing chemistry. Amna’s support for Arfa duriing the tough phase in her life showed her affection towards her sister.

Untitled

7. Nimmie and Millie from Roag:

Performed by Sumbul Iqbal and Sara Omair

While Nimra’s elder sister mocked at her after the heart wrenching incident that ruined her life, the younger one always supported her and took her side no matter what. She always encouraged Nimra to be confident enough to achieve her goals and ignore the people who mocked at her.

8. Sana and Dua from Pani Jaisa Pyar:

Performed by Saba Qamar and Nosheen Shah

Dua’s love and support for her sister after the devastating incident that happened with her was commendable. She not only helped Sana forget it but later, took a stand for her against her abusive husband too. Although she discovered the fact that she was not Sana’s actual sister, this did not stop her from supporting Sana.

70th Independence Day Logo Plagiarized?

The logo made by Saba Zama, a student of NUST University, for Pakistan’s 70th Independence was highly criticised for its simple and disproportional design. It was surprising for several people that this logo was selected in the Independence Celebration logo competition which had more than 400 entries. Many believed that even an amateur designer could do a better job than this!

https://twitter.com/FlushingThePill/status/887338870471348224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fbuzzkaro.com%2Flocal-maal%2F70th-independence-day-logo-plagiarized%2F

And today we bring further disappointing news regarding this logo. A very similar logo is found on the internet. It was posted by Shutterstock:

70th Independence Day Logo Plagiarized?

The logo designer was paid a handsome sum of Rs.500,000  and to find that it wasn’t original work dampens the look of the chosen logo even further.

70 Years of Patriotic Songs!

A very happy Independence day to all Pakistanis across the globe. It has been 70 years since India got divided into two halves and a new country by the name of Pakistan was born. Millions of lives were lost to achieve a safe haven for the Muslims of India. We have come a long way since then.

Let’s be honest, there are so many things that we complain about our country day to day. But here’s also a fact that we usually fail to acknowledge; all the flaws that we observe are the result of our collective doings, or I should say ill-doings, as a nation. However, we complain because we expect better from our beloved homeland because we know it can be better. But even in the most critical moods, there is still a lot of love and respect for our country in our hearts. Yes, that’s what we call patriotism and nothing brings out patriotism more that national, patriotic songs. And today, on the celebration of the 70th Birthday of Pakistan, we have compiled a list of some the most hit national songs that have been produced by our artists over the years:

Pakistan is a great nation and we feel that within ourselves. Her beginnings were filled with hard work, dedication and courage, the reason why we progressed so much in the initial years of independence. We are still progressing, Shukar Alhamdullilah, but our pace has slowed down. Being Pakistani, it’s our responsibility to try our level best to contribute in the development and progress of Pakistan in whatever way we can. We owe it to those who sacrificed their lives for this country.

7 Scenes In Cheekh Where Bilal Abbas Khan Stole The Show

Starting his acting career in 2016, Bilal Abbas Khan in a short period of three years has arguably become one of the most talented actors in the industry, ruling the hearts of Pakistani drama lovers with his stylish looks and fine acting. He has received the award for the Best Actor in Social Media Awards for Balaa and has always received many praises for his work.

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 2

This time around this good-looking celebrity chose to use his devil-may-care looks to play the antagonist in ARY Digital’s currently aired drama serial ‘Cheekh’. The serial has kept the audience gripped to its storyline from the very first episode, and Bilal Abbas Khan is one of the biggest reasons for its success. 28 episodes down, there are numerous scenes which are a visual example of his excellent acting skills, making us hate Wajih to the core, yet appreciate the convincing skills displayed by Bilal Abbas Khan.

Here are some of the scenes where Bilal single handedly stole the show:

1. The Sudden Transition from a Doting Brother, to a Murderer:

6th episode is whenWajih confessesto being Nayab’s murderer in front of his bhabiMannat and his character within a second switches from a loveable hero, to the villain. It is surely one of the most intense and intriguing scenes of the serial till date. It requires a lot of acting precision to show this change within a single scene, and the anger, ego and lust in Wajihwas nailed by Bilal. His dialogue delivery in addition was a cherry on the top.

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 3

2. The Moment he Calmly Bribes Nayab’s Frustrated Father

Just after the truth gets revealed, there is a humongous change in innocent’s Wajih’s personality, whose presence only is generating negative vibes now. A part in episode 7 where Wajih goes to Ramzan Ahmed’s house to bribe them to stay quiet, caught our attention. Ramzan Ahmed is furiously shouting at him, asking him to leave, calling him a murderer, andWajihin return is absolutely calm. Unperturbed, he just keeps increasing the amountof money, knowing how it’ll be easy to manipulate Nayab’s step-mother with it. The scene showcases aspectacular performance by Bilal. The way he is unruffled and composed throughout, all the while managing to radiate an evil energy from him, is acting on-point!

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 4

3. A Silent Wajih with Black Ink Smeared all over him:

A scene in the same episodearrives whenRamzan Ahmedsneakily gets into their house and throws black ink on Wajih’s face before running away. The scene has no dialogues from Wajih, but the anger in his eyes is enough to grasp the audience’s attention and nonverbally perfectly communicate his sentiments at the moment. If you watch it, you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes off him!

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 6

4. Wajih – the Blackmailer

The best thing about Bilal Abbas Khan is that the versatility in his acting can be witnessed easily in any particular scene: where at the beginning of the episode he might seem like the sweetest person on earth, the scene progresses and his reality comes forth in a brilliant show of acting excellence.
An example can be seen in episode 17 and 18, where the innocent looking Wajih with the help of his naïve looks successfullyfoolsMannat’s mother and locks her inside a store room. Wajih turns into a terrifying blackmailer, and his expressions can literally generate shivers in you!

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 7

5. Killing Mannat’s Child

Bilal has managed to depictWajih as the most heartless creature that can ever exist. The chunk in Episode 19 where Wajih drives behind Mannat, resulting in her fall and the eventual miscarriage was painful to the core, but Wajih’spitiless nature is highlighted perfectly.

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 8

6. The Turning of Tables For Wajih

The antagonist of the serial and the man with nerves of steel, moving towards the end of the serial cracks up as well, showing transition in his personality a third time in one drama serial! Not just a scene, but the whole of episode 26 is a visual representation of it. Wajih unintentionally killing his brotherbrings a drastic change in his demeanor and the confession of this murder in front of Yawar is surely a scene that many of us have watched twice! The agony in him for the loss of his brother, mixed with the villainous vibe in his character is a trait very difficult to pull off, and Bilal Abbas Khan totally stole the show with it.

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 9

7. Frustration and Worry Finally Catches Up to Wajih

Before episode 28 was aired, we had witness all kinds of expressions from Wajih – cute concern, indifference, villainous attitude, and even fear. The one thing we never imagined on his face, was to see worry. And we finally get to see it then moment he gets to know that his elder brother, his one support, has gotten paralyzed. That’s where we see an unexpected helplessness and love from Wajih for his brother, and the contrast in his personality was mesmerizing to watch.

bilal Abbas in Cheekh 10

With Cheekh now moving towards itsconclusion, the viewers anxiously are waiting to see how justice will be served. Bilal with his phenomenal performance has made Wajih the biggest antagonist of the year.

7 Reasons Why People Await Alif

Alif is one of the highly anticipated dramas of 2019. Since this project came under works and it was announced, it skyrocketed the expectations of the audience, the drama buffs and fans of Umera Ahmed. Behind the scenes of Alif kept on making it to the social media through the cast that was a part of it, but now finally, after much delay, it is finally going to air soon on Geo Entertainment Channel. The first promo of Alif was released this week and it has garnered nothing but appreciation from the fans of Pakistani dramas all over the world.

Here are the Top 7 Reasons why everyone is looking forward to watching Alif

The Story:

The story of Alif is based on the novel written by Umera Ahmed titled Alif. This novel first started getting published episode wise both online and in digests, but it was released in a hardback book in April of 2019. Umera Ahmed has become a household name over the years and because she has a huge readership, Alif was just as well-received and loved by her readers as all of her previous novels. Alif’s story was highly appreciated by the readers and when it was announced that this story will be dramatized, it automatically skyrocketed the expectations of the readers as well as the drama audience who have always loved watching dramas written by Umera Ahmed. Alif’s story is one of the main reasons why people are looking forward to watching this drama because they know they are in for quite a journey.

The Cast:

The cast of Alif is also one of the top reasons why people are looking forward to this drama. When a drama is based on a novel, people imagine certain characters being played by certain actors. Ever since the cast of Alif drama was announced, people could not stop raving about it because their favorite stars and actors were a part of this project. Alif has a stellar cast and the names that are associated with this drama are that of Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sajal Aly, Ahsan Khan, Kubra Khan, Osman Khalid Butt. This is enough of a reason to be sold on this drama because to see such an amazing looking star cast together on-screen in one drama is a rarity.

Umera Ahmed’s Come Back:

With Alif, Umera Ahmed is making a come back after 4 years. In the meantime Umera Ahmed did work on the screenplays of drama serial Baaghi and telefilm Ek Thi Mariam, but after a long gap of 4 years, she is leading the drama as a writer and people are already raving about it. Another factor that has worked in the favor of this drama already is that the story is already known to the masses, therefore they are excited to see their favorite story being narrated on screen, that too by their all-time favorite Umera Ahmed. Umera Ahmed has had such a good reputation with almost all of her dramas in the past and her name is enough of a reason to be sold on a project.

The Locations:

The part of the novel is set in Turkey, therefore the dream team has shot some of the episodes in Turkey. Turkey is a beautiful country and one of the top tourist destinations in the world, especially for Muslims because of its cultural and historical importance and richness. It is already quite exciting to imagine that the drama buffs will get to see a beautifully shot drama in the beautiful locations of Turkey. It is going to be a visual treat for the viewers.

The Dream Team of Drama-makers:

We have names like Umera Ahmed, Haseeb Hassan, Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz as writer, director and producers of Alif, therefore it is enough of a reason to be excited about this drama. Umera Ahmed has amazing novels and dramas like Peer e Kamil SAW, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan, Shehr-e-Zaat etc to her credit. Haseeb Hassan has been the man with a vision behind dramas like Diyar e Dil. Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz have produced some of the superhit dramas in the past and the production values of their production house are always top-notch. When such a dream team comes together along with the superstars of drama industry like Sajal Aly, Ahsan Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi, it becomes enough of a reason to be excited about the project.

Mystical Journey:

Who does these better than Umera Ahmed? The best thing about the stories written by Umera Ahmed is the quotient of spirituality and self-discovery. Umera Ahmed always writes on such subjects that are thought-provoking and make you question the reasons behind your existence. Alif and its story is no different. How the life of a film-maker will change and how he will walk on the path of self-discovery is the main theme of the drama and with Umera Ahmed’s magical imaginative touch to it, Alif is bound to succeed.

The Promos:

The very first couple of teasers of Alif were released on September 19, 2019 and people can not stop raving about them. These promos have shown enough to get viewers excited about the journey that Alif is going to be. The promos not only looked amazing but promising too. In a nutshell, they showed what Alif is going to be all about and how it will make you fall in love with the journey of the main characters. Those who have read the novel already are excited but those who are only going to rely on the drama to tell a story are equally excited as well.

7 reasons which make Janaan a MUST watch !

0

1. Changes the Image of Pakhtuns
Janaan is shot in the beautiful location of Swat. The movie tries to break the cultural stereotypes and shows Pakistan in positive light. In reality and in most of the movies Pakhtuns are shown as Terrorists but Janaan wants to remove this tag from Pakhtuns.

j 1
The producer Imran Rizvi in an interview said, “Since the movie is releasing on an international platform, it attempts to showcase that people residing in Pakistan, including Pakhtuns, are just as fun loving, crazy and normal like everyone else! They sing, they dance and have family politics like every family. It is a very relatable, family entertainment flick, releasing internationally in 15 countries and is bound to cast an impact on the audiences.”

2. Does Not Revolve Around a Typical Love Traingle
The cast of the movie insisted that Janaan is not only about a love triangle but the audience will witness that film will highlight many other issues.
Armeena said, “It’s a misconception that this movie is all about another love triangle because there is just so much more to the film underlying. A lot of issues get addressed in the film. So you just cannot call it your box standard rom-com”.

3. Film Is Not Inspired By Bollywood
Janaan has tried real hard to keep its originality intact and not get influenced by the Bollywood films. The cast members shared that the real fun in the movie is that story is of our own country.
Bilal Ashraf from the cast said, “I think the best thing about Janaan is that it is based on Pakistan culture.”
“It represents Pakistan; it defends Pakistan and its shot in beautiful Swat. It has its own identity and will make its own mark. It will make Pakistan’s mark in global cinema and in Pakistan. We are not trying to copy anyone or imitate anyone. There is no element from Bollywood; it’s all original Pashtun culture which hasn’t been showcased ever in movies before”.
The movie has only taken few singers from Bollywood that too for promoting cross-border collaborations, singers like Arman Malik and Shreya Ghoshal and compositions by Salim-Sulaiman.

4. Armeena’s Character Promotes Women Empowerment
Another intelligent move that Janaan makers have made is to add a concept which is hated across the globe “women empowerment.” This concept will surely work for the audience and will make them fall in love with the film.

j 13
5. Janaan A Family Entertainer
As the film is not only about a love triangle rather deal with issues like women empowerment, breaking the stereotype culture and no item songs, makes it perfect for families to watch. Moreover the film has dealt with serious issues under the cover of comedy which attracts audience of all ages.

6. Very Attractive cast

Janaan has a cast which is full of energy and talent. The fun loving Ali Rehman, Armeena and Bilal looked perfect together like a family. The sources reveal it’s not just the lead characters that have good chemistry but also with the directors and the producers as well.

7. Unleashing New Talent

Janaan has not left a single aspect untouched, it has made sure that every effort is made to attract the audience. Instead of casting only the established actors it has gone for experimentation by engaging some emerging stars like Hania Amir and Usman Mukhtar.

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

0

Pakistani drama industry has seen many new actors in the past few years and some of the experienced ones continue to play leading roles in dramas. Many of these actors truly deserve the hype and projects they get but there are also those who have not been able to justify their position in the industry. These overrated actors have limited talent and range yet we see these actors playing leading roles in many dramas with star cast. One thing common among all these actors is that fame and notable projects were served to them on a silver platter. However, this ease in obtaining high-profile roles is not the reason why we think that they are overrated. There are many other reasons but the most common one has to be the lack of versatility, talent, and vision.

Here is a list of the most overrated Pakistani actors right now:

Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan always manages to bag big dramas and has worked in many notable dramas. Yet, she has been unable to get herself recognized as a serious actress. In all these years, she does not have a single project to her credit in which she stood out more than any of her other co-stars. Ayeza Khan brings with her a big wardrobe, the perfect make-up looks, and even decent performances but is she really as big as an actress as the production houses make her out to be? We think not! Ayeza Khan’s name sells dramas because she has a fan following but she lacks versatility and the screen presence to stand out. Most of her performances have been forgettable and repetitive.

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Hiba Bukhari

Hiba Bukhari is another actress who is full of confidence because she has worked in some of the biggest dramas. Sometimes, it is really difficult to tell how she has managed to make it this big in an industry with so much competition. Her acting skills are limited to a few expressions and whenever she tries to be versatile, she fails. Her make-up and wardrobe choices also failed to impress multiple times. Most of the time her acting is the opposite of effortless; she fails to make her roles appear natural and seamless. Yet, she is another favorite of many of the leading production houses!

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Alizeh Shah

Alizeh Shah entered the drama industry when she was really young. Her first television appearance had us convinced that she had what it took to be a remarkable actress. Honestly speaking, she also has the talent but what makes her overrated is her non-seriousness towards her craft. She chooses to play similar roles repeatedly. Alizeh Shah’s wardrobe choices in her dramas also show that she is not interested in putting in a lot of effort to perfect the look of her characters in dramas. The hyper-focus on gaudy make-up to make up for the lack of wardrobe is another reason why it is impossible to take her seriously as an actor. It is sad that someone with so much potential has completely ruined their actual talent because the production houses pamper her needlessly. Alizeh Shah’s entire career is an example of why not to pamper an actor more than they deserve! Production houses love her but we think she is a lost cause thanks to this pampering. The favoritism from the industry may have hindered her growth and credibility as a performer.

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Dur e Fishan Saleem

Dur e Fishan Saleem is another favorite nowadays who has played the leading role in the popular drama Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi and made a big name for herself. Her styling, make-up, and wardrobe have improved a great deal and now in Jaise Aap Ki Marzi she looks her best. However, these beautiful looks do not make up for her limited range as an actress. In Jaise Aap Ki Marzi there have been so many instances when she failed to meet expectations. Although she has been given the perfect opportunity to play a strong woman on-screen, she has messed it up multiple times. Dur e Fishan’s dialogue delivery lacks clarity in many scenes and her expressions are also not impactful enough. She does not add the appeal to her characters which can make them memorable. Even though she is another favorite among the producers, we think she has a long way to go!

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Zaviyar Nauman

Zaviyar Nauman is the new ladla of the Pakistani drama industry solely because he is Nauman Ijaz’s son! This young man has played a leading role in multiple big dramas in a short span of time and it is difficult to say which performance was the most underwhelming one. The honest and brutal truth is that if he wasn’t Nauman Ijaz’s son he would have ended up playing supporting roles in soap serials for years! Yet, he has been awarded, appreciated, and promoted by the top production houses in the country in a short span of time. Out of all the actors on this list, Zaviyar Nauman has to be the most overrated, and his status as the star son who gets royal treatment goes to show how the showbiz industry works!

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Arsalan Naseer

Arsalan Naseer was recently given the best actor award at the Lux Style Awards and we were left wondering who voted for him because clearly, he does not have a single decent performance to his credit. Arsalan Naseer delivers his dialogues in the most robotic manner and always fails to align his expressions with his dialogues. He lacks the talent and screen presence to play leading roles in dramas yet he is on a roll! He is another actor who will probably be getting many more leading roles because success as a YouTuber or social media star now makes up for the complete lack of talent in the drama industry.

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

Khaqan Shahnawaz

Numerous Pakistani actors have spoken about the advantages of having a fair complexion in the Pakistani drama industry. We are guessing that this preference for fair skin is the likely reason behind Khaqan’s frequent casting in various acting projects. We understand that there is a dearth of young actors in the industry but surely if the producers search more seriously, they will have better choices at their disposal. Khaqan Shahnawaz is still in the process of learning how to act yet he is already getting big projects and prominent roles. The production houses also promote him as if he has what it takes to make it to the top but we beg to differ.

7 Most Overrated Pakistani Actors Right Now

While there are many other actors in the drama industry who do not fall in the ‘best’ category, the actors on this list are those who are treated like star actors even though their acting skills leave a lot to be desired.

We are certain many of our readers might disagree with our choices therefore please feel free to share your views.
