5 Pakistani Celebrities Speak Out Against Muharram Parties

Muharram Al Haram is the first month of Islamic calendar which holds deep spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. This Holy month is associated with mourning and remembrance of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his family members. The tragic and unforgivable Battle of Karbala occurred in this month, which resulted in the sorrowful martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain and many of his family members and loyal companions. Muslims should observe Muharram with profound grief, reverence, and respect.

5 Pakistani Celebrities Speak Out Against Muharram Parties

In Pakistan, Muharram has become a festival for many. During Muharram, families plan travelling, functions and parties. These public festivities in the month of Muharram face condemnation by our Shia celebrities. This year, Imran Abbas and Mohsin Abbas Haider opened up on the insensitivity of Pakistanis during Muharram. Noor Bukhari was quite vocal regarding people planning vacation and Nikkahs in Muharram.

Mohsin Abbas Haider

Mohsin Abbas Haider said, “For some people, Muharram is just a holiday. They go out for trips and celebrations, shamelessly celebrate birthdays, weddings, watch movies, and sing songs. Even a flawed, misguided, and sinful person like me knows that the days of Muharram should be respected. It was the household of our beloved Prophet”

Shaista Lodhi

Shaista Lodhi also shared a post on which she called out the parties, films and music releases on the sacred month of Muharram. Shaista Lodhi wrote, “It pains me to pen down the thoughts I’ve been carrying lately. Moharram and Ashura used to be different in our childhood. We were taught to respect certain values, to stay away from few things. We were genuinely curious to know what our Rasool SAWW and His Ahl-e-Bayt went through to keep Islam alive. Through their stories, we learned belief, sacrifice, sabr, and above all, Allah’s love. But I don’t see that connection as strongly anymore in today’s generation. Not everything should change with time. There were no movies being released in cinemas during these sacred days. Music wasn’t part of our daily routine. Dawat and family celebrations had their own appropriate time — never in Muharram. Don’t know if it is just me, or do others feel this too Some pains aren’t meant to be forgotten!’

Imran Abbas

Imran Abbas was quite upset over the realse of films first Muharram. He shared his opinion on his official Facebook account. Imran Abbas wrote, “Imran Abbas shared his concerns on his official Facebook account. He wrote, “I have never seen movies being released on the 1st of Muharram before in Pakistan. This is not about Shia or Sunni — certain dates and months carry significance for all Muslims. I still remember when PTV used to run music-free transmissions during these times. Now, we witness dance and music shows even on the 9th of Muharram. People treat these days as holidays to travel to hill stations with family and friends. The day is not far when we may start celebrating the Islamic New Year with parties on the 1st of Muharram. I urge everyone to respect the sanctity of Rabi-ul-Awal, Ramadan, and Muharram, and to acknowledge the significance of these months, regardless of sect or background.”

Khaled Anam

Khaled Anam was quite upset with his Shia community for adding commercialism to the the Majalis by arranging mix gatherings. He was of the view that mixed Majalis should not be conducted and because they should be arranged with utmost care and people should not do any act that harm the sentiments of our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.W’s obedient lovers. He said that Shias can carefully perform all their religious activities without indulging into commercialism. Here is the link to the video:

He also called out Noha & Mersia Khuwans for adding music into Nohas and turning it into celebration music:

Noor Bukhari

Noor Bukhari also expressed her pain over the party culture in Muharram, she called out Pakistanis who plan travelling and Nikkahs during the first ten days of Muharram. She reshared a reel of a social media influencer who called out the attitude of Pakistanis who plan parties and trips during the month of Muharram. 5 Must to Have Ingredients for a Hit Drama

0

What makes a drama hit? There are a hundred factors that play an important role in determining the success of the drama and here are some of the suggested factors that can play a major role in making any TV drama serial super hit, as per my observation.

Have a look!

05. Well Written Script:

The main essence that any drama has is its script but the main question is if everyone settles with it.  Dramas are basically an imitation of what’s actually happening in our daily life so if the script s really powerful and well written and is able to reflect the actual happenings of the surroundings without having to have a bad impact on the story line then it will have much more possibilities to  flourish in the audience and possible niche.

04.  Well Executed Direction:

It is the duty of the director to have an entire overlook of the drama and make sure that the quality of the script remains constant and actors are able to perform according to the character they are playing in the production which requires multitasking and inspiration. A well-executed direction means that the director has got an artistic vision and he is very much able to execute the required magic in the spectacle.

03. Timings of the Drama:

The timings at which these drama serials should be aired are of crucial importance as well. It has been surveyed that most of the people enjoy primetime shows on TV as compared to those being put on show late night.

02. The OST:

Without a soundtrack the drama has no soul whatsoever because it shows the inner asset and the perceptions of any drama serial before it has been released.  Having a good soundtrack will help directors slide the whole landing of any drama. It has happened with a number of TV drama serials that the title song has given a comprehensive well-appointed look to the entire text and recital and because music is forever, a soundtrack may have an undying impact on the audience.

01. The cast:

When it comes to casting the crew, having the most wanted people in your group is an ultimate requirement. A good actor must know how to deliver the dialogue, how to interpret emotions and bring the liquor of reality in his/her performance. Audience today is clever enough to know if the cast of any dram serial is well chosen or not and they know if any actor is being a dummy or a genuine one thus attracting their attention towards their work.

So these were 5 of the most important elements that I think, play a vital role in making a drama hit.

5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

7

Mere Pass Tum Ho is an entertaining play which keeps the viewers guessing. Apart from its entertainment value, the realistic scenarios also give the viewers a lot to reflect upon. The fast pace of Mere Pass Tum Ho makes it a must watch. The interesting twists and turns keep the entertainment value alive. There are many characters similar to the one we have seen in Mere Pass Tum Ho in real life too. This drama also has some lessons so it is something bigger to offer. Most often when dramas with social messages go on air, they are promoted as such. But sometimes viewers do not watch such dramas because many of them watch dramas for entertainment alone. We are guessing that this is the reason why some producers have stopped promoting social dramas in such a way. Mere Pass Tum Ho is one such drama which has social messages but it is not being promoted as such. While on the one hand Mere Pass Tum Ho is being criticized for being bold. On the other hand people are also loving how it gives some really good lessons.

Here are 5 lessons we learned from Mere Pass Tum Ho.

Cheaters Never Win

We have all heard this phrase even as children. Whether you are playing a game or are in a relationship, cheating is always considered wrong. Mere Pass Tum Ho in a really impressive and entertaining way has shown that people who cheat never win. Shehwar and Mehwish both cheated on their spouses. They were so sure that they were justified in doing so. They went behind their spouses’ back and had an affair. Not only this they were constantly lying to them as well. Mehwish couldn’t care less what Danish was going through and Shehwar too was not bothered about how his wife would react if she found out what he was doing. Both of them thought they were headed towards a happy ending but the previous episode clearly indicated that they are going to be the losers in the end.

5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Mateen sahib’s story also proved just that. He also cheated on his wife thinking he was going to lead a happy life with the woman he married. He ended up losing that woman and spent the rest of his life in guilt. His remorse and sadness was evident from his last scenes. The writer gave two different examples of both the genders to show that cheaters never win!

5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Gratitude Is a Gift

Mere Pass Tum Ho showed how an ungrateful wife ruined everything. Mehwish always thought they never had enough and wanted more. She was never happy with the man who loved her dearly. She did not even value her child enough to stay in this marriage for him. Basically, Mehwish’s unthankful nature was the first reason why she could not see all the blessings in her life. On the other hand Danish valued Mehwish’s presence in his life and for him her companionship mattered more than anything else. Mere Pass Tum Ho showed two different perspectives from married partners and we are pretty sure many people learned how important gratitude is in a relationship from it. Same was the case with Mateen sahib too who only later on realized what he had lost.5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Greed Is a Curse

Mere Pass Tum Ho also has this lesson. Mehwish’s materialistic approach right from the beginning was the main characteristic of her personality. She was always attracted to wealth and materialistic things. Same is the case with Shehwar as we will learn as the story progresses. He has been involved in fraud to get hold of his wife’s wealth. In the end he too will get into trouble because of that. Danish who never valued materialistic things will be happy in the end.

5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Betrayal Affects Children The Most

When a spouse betrays and there are children involved then the children suffer more than anyone else. In the beginning when Mere Pass Tum Ho started people used to wonder why Rumi’s character was part of the story. Now we know that it was there to teach all those men and women a lesson who leave not only their spouses but also their children for someone else. Rumi had a close relationship with his mother but after she left not only was his personality shattered for a while but he grew totally distant from her. His dialogues show that he still loves her but he feels a lot of anger and resentment.

5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Mehwish thought she could come get Rumi any time she wanted but the writer aptly showed that even if you are a mother, children are not going to love you unconditionally if you leave them.

Good People Get Rewarded

This is the best lesson! Watching Danish do well in his life lately has definitely proved that things will only get better for him. Although he is still hurt but he has his son with him. Rumi loves his father more than anyone else. Rumi valued his father even when he had no money. So even though Danish lost Mehwish, he is constantly being rewarded in some way or the other. The money he is earning is definitely a step in the right direction too even if he never ran after money but he enjoys showering his son with a good life and gifts.5 Lessons We Learned From Mere Pass Tum Ho

Apart from that Danish has also been rewarded with the gift of having faith in himself, something which was completely missing before. He has the guts to do things now which he never had before, which is a big change and nothing short of a reward. Mateen sahib’s wife too lead a good life with a man who loved and valued her. While Mateen sahib died alone and sad, his wife had someone by her side who loved her.

Marriage is a sacred institution therefore the makers of Mere Pass Tum Ho have done people a favor by giving out these lessons through this drama. What do you think? Share your views in the comments section.

5 Lessons We Learned From Ehd-e-Wafa

8

Ehd-e-Wafa is one of the most popular dramas on television right now. It airs on HUM and PTV Home. The script of the drama Ehd-e-Wafa has been written by Mustafa Afridi and it has been directed by the ace director Saife Hasan. Ehd-e-Wafa is not just another drama because it serves a higher purpose. Since ISPR is behind the project therefore Ehd-e-Wafa has in an intelligent manner played a vital role in providing the youngsters with the inspiration they need in order to achieve their goals. At a time when Pakistani dramas constantly focus entirely on either marriage or relationships in general, a drama like Ehd-e-Wafa has been welcomed by the viewers because of its progressive theme.

5 Lessons We Learned From Ehd-e-Wafa

When Ehd-e-Wafa initially aired, the viewers were expecting it to be a lot like Alpha Bravo Charlie, a drama which focused entirely on the armed forces. Ehd-e-Wafa however turned out to be a play which basically focuses on the youngsters more than anything else. It shows what role youngsters can play in the society and that they should not take this role for granted. This drama has so many important lessons and is a must watch especially for all the young people who might think that there isn’t much they can do to make a difference.

Here are 5 important lessons which we learned from drama serial Ehd-e-Wafa.

Youngsters Should Stay Focused

When the story started Saad, Shariq and Shehryar were shown as young boys for whom fun came before everything else. They enjoyed breaking rules and although all of them were shown as good students but they were not focused enough. Being expelled from the hostel served as a much needed reality check and after that all these 3 youngsters focused entirely on their studies and career. All through the drama in different ways, the writer showed how important it was for youngsters to focus on their main goal. Time and again through different situations, the writer kept on reinforcing the idea that for young people education comes before everything else.

When Saad and Dua decided to part ways, that was such a good way of conveying the message. Shehryar too did not want to get married or engaged to Masooma because he wanted to focus on his main objective which was getting himself prepared to get his dream job.

Education & Hard Work Is The Key To Success

This is the most important message in this drama. Although Shehryar, Shariq, Saad and even Gulzar come from completely different backgrounds but all of them managed to get somewhere in life because they concentrated on their education and most importantly they worked hard. Shehryar’s background was such that he could have continued carrying on his father’s legacy yet he decided to break the cycle by getting education and working really hard. There were so many times when Shehryar was helping his father and carrying on with his education at the same time, which was not easy but in the end he achieved his goal and in doing so he changed the future of his entire family. He will definitely be the reason why his sisters too manage to achieve something bigger in life.

5 Lessons We Learned From Ehd-e-Wafa

Shariq’s track also suggested just that. Although, he came from a family which was not well off but he believed in himself and made sure he equipped himself with the education he needed to make his dreams come true. Gulzar is one such biggest example in the drama. When he went back to his village, he mentioned that he couldn’t have done everything he did without the support of his elders who helped him get the education he needed. Apart from that all through the drama even Saad’s journey shows that without hard work you cannot achieve anything big. These tracks motivate the viewers to work hard and to believe that hard work pays off.

Women’s Careers are Just as Important as Men’s

This is another important lesson in the drama and one which has been put forward in a way which is anything but preachy. All those viewers who are watching Ehd-e-Wafa can never forget the conversation which Dua and Saad had when Saad came to help Dua with moving things in her new house. Dua asserted that she wanted to be a doctor because it wasn’t just important for Saad to get where he wanted but it was equally important for Dua to have her own career. Saad’s mother has also been shown as a working woman, Shariq’s sister worked hard to bring him up and run the house. All these examples of career-oriented women who are shown contributing to the society just as much as men do have been the most remarkable lesson in this drama. Ramsha is another bright career-oriented young lady. Raani too has been shown actively contributing to her husband’s career even though she is not educated and her ways are different from the other women. Even Saad’s sister has been shown as a creative and intelligent young woman with her own identity.

5 Lessons We Learned From Ehd-e-Wafa

Most of our dramas portray women in the same light. The biggest accomplishment for most women in Pakistani dramas is to find a good man. Here we have so many wonderful women with good men in their lives but that for them is not enough. They are shown as individuals who also want to contribute to the society and do something for themselves. The men in their lives are their partners and not people they are dependent on.

Be The Change You Want To See In The World

We have some amazing young characters in Ehd-e-Wafa who really are making a difference. Instead of complaining about the system, most of these young people have worked hard to attain positions where they can make a difference. Shariq is fighting a war all on his own for the longest time. Instead of becoming a part of the system, he is constantly trying to be the change he would want to see. Similarly, Shehryar even with all his unfavorable circumstances was never shown complaining but he is now in a position where he can make changes for the better. Very soon, the viewers will see him do just that.

Saad too used his own capabilities’ and abilities to help others. His leadership skills were never used by him to show his superiority but he always helped his peers be their best by giving them confidence.

Respect Your Parents, Make Them Proud

The scenes covering this aspect of the play were the most emotional. Shehryar, Shariq, Saad and Gulzar made their parents proud and that for them was more rewarding than anything else. Through all these emotional scenes, the makers of the drama so aptly showed how young people can be a source of happiness for their parents. Even though Dua found out after her father’s death that she was adopted but she has made her parents proud by playing her role as a daughter as impeccably as she possibly could. This particular lesson is one which Pakistani dramas rarely have. The salutes from the parents to their children have been emotional and they left an impact.

5 Legendary Songs’ Messed Up Remakes!

Pakistan’s Entertainment Industry has suffered lots of ups and downs since its inception, however, there is one department that has never stopped making us proud -the department of music. Amazing songs and artists have come out over the years and have made Pakistan proud on different platforms. However, as one would expect, music from olden times is forgotten as new music overtakes the throne. It’s pretty much like the stage of life- someone goes to give others space to showcase their talent. But, like some people are hard to forget, some songs are even harder. They just require renditions to fit in the time they are being played in. A gentle reminder of their greatness, if you will.

Making remakes of songs is a very tricky business, no one can argue with that. Unlike an original song, there are already hopes and expectations from the fans associated with a rendition. A comparison is also, of course, always drawn between the original and the remake. If the remake is better than the original than it is greatly appreciated and if it is not then it receives a lot of criticism too. Over the years, a lot of our old but gold legendary songs have gone through remakes not only in their place of origin (Pakistan) but in India too. In fact, a lot of superhit songs in India are the remakes of Pakistani songs.

Today, however, I am going to count down some of the disastrous  remakes of our Pakistani legendary songs that have come out over the years. (The renditions sung by Indian singers, however, are not included.) The 5 songs below, according to me, did more damage than good. Either there was no synchronization between the voice of the singer and the tune, the beat of the song just didn’t match the lyrics, or it simply failed to sound good to the ears. Some of the most popular songs are made from taking risks but sometimes those risks produce a not very favourable result :

Sayonee – Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Ali Noor

Sayonee is the talk of the town these days and for all the wrong reasons. The song was originally sung by Ali Azmat while he was in the band Junoon, in the year 1997. Coke Studio decided to produce a remake of this amazing song and even chose the best artists for it Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ali Noor. However, they totally failed in their attempt to make the remake a success and please the audience. The song has managed to gain a lot of views on the internet thanks to how bad it is! Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, no doubt , has one of the best voices in the sub-continent but it seems like this song wasn’t made for him. In fact, in my opinion, this song is only meant to be sung by Ali Azmat in his style, powered by his strong vocals. Tweaking with this song brought down severe consequences in the form of embarrassing memes and blatant criticism on the internet. To say that Coke Studio’s version destroyed the essence of Sayonee wouldn’t be far from the truth.

Zara Chehra- Zohaib Hassan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPHhJ7voa5M

It is true that Nazia Hassan and Zohaib Hassan were a very popular duo back in the time but after the pop queen’s tragic, untimely death, Mr. Zohaib didn’t make much music and unfortunately after listening to him sing Chehra on coke studio, I can see why. He had even worked for Coke Studio before (Indian Coke Studio) but his performance never made it to the air.  They probably didn’t enjoy his singing much either. His cover of his classic, Zara Chehra would have been a total loss had it not been for Amir Zaki’s guitar solo. I remember the high anticipations I had from the song because I had hoped Amir Zaki and Zohaib working together will produce one of the greatest hits of all times but the only enchanting aspect of the entire performance was watching Amir and Zohaib working together. I wish they could have at least met the benchmark if not surpassing the original version!

Dekha Na Tha- Bilal Khan & QB

My ears are still bleeding from listening to the cover.  Seriously, dekha na tha kabhi aesa koi cover. Bilal Khan dived in Alamgir’s fabulous song with his auto-tuned voice and managed to make me shake my head in extreme disappointment. Alamgir’s a legend of our music industry, the least Mr.Khan could do was sound like himself and not a robot! Moving on to his partner, QB- the talented voice of our Music Industry who’s singing in the song clearly shows that she is not made for pop!  Her vocals are no doubt good, but seriously misplaced. Lastly, QB and Bilal Khan’s robotic voice do not jell together at all! What the original version entailed was: Alamgir’s amazing voice, a good beat, smooth vocals, luscious music and stirring shift of scales. All of this was lacking in the cover. The ‘Jazba’ song didn’t have ‘Jazba’ enough.

Sone Di Tavitri – Shahida Minni

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pVjoCp6U5w

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc5_DljyqWw

If I was to rate this song in terms of how bad the rendition is from the original , I’d be inclined to use the symbol of infinity instead of a digit because mere digits cannot do justice to just how awful the Shahidi Minni’s version of Noor Jahan’s ‘Sone Di Tavitri’ is. She’s brought in an arabic touch to the song and uses a sultry voice to replace Noor Jahan’s soothing yet playful one. Music is arguably one of the most powerful forms of expression that we have. Madam Noor Jahan surely understood that if her singing of patriotic, romantic, or even heartbroken songs was anything to go by. Her voice had the power to generate an emotional effect in one. Shahida Minni’s voice clearly lacks that. To top it off, destroying the beat of the song to produce something ‘new’ and ‘modern’ managed to ruin the entire song in a spectacular way. Kudos to her for totally wrecking the song.

Ye Jo Halka Halka Suroor- Farhan Saeed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOz1sVE4nyQ

Farhan Saeed has a great voice and is also a very hard working singer, I am not going to deny that but his rendition of ‘ye jo halka halka suroor’ didn’t touch my heart. To be fair, it’s nearly impossible for any singer to sing Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s song to the late singer’s caliber but this wasn’t even close to it. Farhan’s voice just didn’t jell in with the classical music composition of the song. If I hadn’t listened the original then Farhan might have gotten a green light from me but as far as comparing his version with the original one goes- it has failed to impress me. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s strong yet melodious voice is dominant in the original version while Farhan has equal parts of music and his voice. Nusrat’s voice is smooth like honey in some parts of the song and at others, it has a very gripping coarseness. Farhan’s voice sounds very immature and the overall product, rushed in comparison to the original. Singers should really think through whether or not they can perform to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s level before undertaking such a task.

Honourable Mention- National Anthem of Pakistan

The recreation of the national anthem of Pakistan by Strings was just terrible. National anthem is more than just getting the notes right. It should have feelings of love and patriotism for one’s country too. Coke Studio’s version lacked that. Completely. The singers seemed too determined to get the notes right and very little about emotions. I would especially mention Nabeel Shaukat and Farhan Saeed playing a greater part in ruining the anthem than just being emotionless. The verse they were given was executed by both the singers with extremely low and fading notes. I had to remind myself that this is a national, supposedly  most patriotic song not some tune that an angrez would play at some funeral. Danyal Zafar’s voice didn’t seem necessary in the anthem either as it was overshadowed by both his brother and Momina Mustehsan. The one tiny portion that you can hear is at the end of the word ‘hilaal’ where he is completely out of sync from the other two singers. All in all, this is the perfect example of too many cooks spoil the broth. Sometimes simplicity is better than extravagance.

5 Instagram Posts That Show Mehwish Hayat Feels Like A Princess

0

Mehwish Hayat’s looks have undergone some big changes ever since she entered the industry. She has done everything that the stars nowadays do to make the necessary changes in their looks to make themselves look more appealing. It all started with Mehwish Hayat getting some plastic surgeries. This is an open secret. Mehwish Hayat also starting working out to shape up her body and then she got a haircut for a different look. Mehwish Hayat also looks more fair in all her pictures now, unlike before when she used to go with a less fair look.

We hardly see Mehwish Hayat wearing Eastern outfits now. She is totally Western in her looks and it is something she loves. It isn’t very often that celebrities show their happiness with their new looks the way Mehwish Hayat does. Being an expressive person Mehwish Hayat puts everything down loud and clear in her instagram posts sometimes as a statement and at other times in the form of hash tags.

mehwish old and new

Here are some instagram posts of Mehwish Hayat that show how much Mehwish Hayat is in love with her looks. She does not hide her feelings about how fantastic she looks and how confident she feels because of these looks. In every other post Mehwish has mentioned that she feels like a princess.

5 Female Celebrities Who Should Reduce Some Kilos!

0

Are you weight conscious? Do you notice when our female celebrities see, to have put on same extra weight? If yes, then congratulations, we have so much in common. Though talent has nothing to do with body weight at all, the overall persona of a celebrity is a combined judgment which includes every reflection of her personality. I have been thinking for quite a long to write on this and finally here is a list of 5 female celebrities who should reduce a little of fat to look even better on screen.

1)      Sanam Jang!

Wonders! She looked extremely slim in Dil-e-Muzter which is not an old story too. However, Sanam has recently put on some KGs which are becoming quite noticeable too.

Wallpapers_of_Sanam_Jung_4

2)      Nadia Afghan

Drama industry needs such characters equally, isn’t it? Despite of all the negativities Nadia has had been reflecting by now, I still feel that she has got a lot of potential. Nadia comes on number 2 in my list. Reducing some weight might bring her some better roles too. What do you think?

 NadiaAfgan1n_byiho

3)      Jasmeen Manzoor

She really doesn’t need an introduction. Does she? Jasmeen is one of the most prominent anchors who are followed by a huge audience for their flawless work. There can be seen an obvious change in her as she has put on a lot of weight now which is reflecting her dressing too now. For me, Jasmeen should also give some time to herself and should reduce a bit!

Jasmeen-Manzoor

4)      Sonia Rehman

Sonia, though not seen on screen these days, has always proved herself as an actress with a lot of talent. With some hit dramas on her credit like Doraha, Sonia is a good choice for directors. She can still make a comeback on screen with a little working on her weight, as it is, her  fans are more than excited to see her in dramas again!.

sonia-rehman-2

5)      Maya Khan

The morning show host Maya Khan can be considered as one of the most controversial celebrities of Pakistan who are always into limelight for different reasons. Her hosting career has had been at risk initially but things now seem to have settled to their best. The host is always ready to arrange mayuns and Mehndis on her show where she is found dancing on the stage. Reducing some KGs might help her in looking at least bearable in all the heavy makeup and tight costumes that she often wears.

So these were 5 female celebrities on my list who, according to me should give this idea a thought. How far do you agree?

5 Common Facepalm Moments

0

We have all, at some point in our lives, been forced to face palm, whether it’s the stupidity of others, or ours that makeS us do it. Following is a list of five such moments whose credit goes to our television screens:

1. When morning shows have “dramas”:

Shadis, calling upon jinnat or trying to have discussions with “real” saas bahus, I would term them as dramas. Morning shows
have given me so many facepalm moments that I have lost count. I gave up on them a long time ago, but since they air 5 days a week, while scrolling through channels, catching a few scenes is inevitable. But seldom do they capture my interest. Most of the
time they make me cringe.

Give up on these fake shadis already. Why are they hell bent on getting people married? If you really want to earn sawab
by getting girls married then do it in private instead of dhol dhamaka and an official ailaan. Other than that, what is the point of
getting already married couples married again? For the second time, having not only a baaraat but a mehndi, mayon and the kind of
rasoomat that no person of this country has even heard of, is illogical.

facepalm1

If real jinnat ever got to these guys, do you really think they will let the cameramen record their videos and show them to the world? I think using this topic to get ratings is wrong and no sane person would fall for this cheap tactic.

The morning show hosts will make your marital life a bliss by calling you and your saas live on television and let the whole world see what crap you two are going through together (just so they can know that their lives aren’t as messed up as yours and be happy)!
Who believes these people?

2. When the weddings in dramas just don’t end:
Mayu and Mehndi(with ALL the dance scenes) , Baraat and Valima and then angoothi dhoondna and doodh pilana and sheesha dekhna.….
The list goes on, and the weddings go on,thus the scenes get dragged. All that changes are the wedding dresses!! Do we need to see every wedding function of the characters? Since they are filler scenes used to drag the already lame dramas for a few episodes, we can skip them.
The examples are endless. Raheel’s (Sohail Sameer) Mehndi function in Tum Mere hi rehna lasted for three episodes. Abrish
(Sonya Hussain) and Farhad’s (Junaid Khan) wedding functions in Khuda Na Karey wasted a lot of time. The wedding functions of
Aahista Aahista, Muhabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Dil Nahi Manta, Ladon Mein Pali, Rasam, Rukhsati need to be mentioned here.
The “6-7 sisters” dramas annoy me the most. Every sister’s wedding functions are shown separately (Like one wasn’t enough!).
Mein Bushra is a recent example.

facepalm2-001

3. When the most boring drama is nowhere near ending:

You’d expect, in fact pray that the most boring drama on-air will have the least number of episodes but when, even after the 20th or 25th episode there is no sign of it’s end and the twists are still happening, you have no choice but to wonder…….

Are you serious GIF

4. When everything is solved at the last moment:

We, the viewers, put our heart with the characters. We love some of them, and hate some of them. Whom we hate, we want punished. Unfortunately we don’t get to see the evil ones suffering for more than one scene. The apologies they present to the good ones are just words of formality. In the end, we see the hero (who’s most probably the apologist), and heroine sharing an intimate moment. There can be two reactions to this:

a) a sarcastic cute

Sarcastic cute GIF

b) an urge to punch

punch in face GIF

5. When talk show fights go out of hand:
I do watch talk shows, whenever I find the topic interesting. But the acha khasa topic is ruined by the verbal abuse the “guests” shower upon each other. There is a huge difference between educated politicians and illiterate people. Setting a good example for the people, eh? Done on purpose or not, this is wrong and should be stopped.

5 Celebrity Looks To Get Eid Inspiration From

The blessed month of Ramadan is about to end and Eid is just around the corner. Now is the time when everyone is enthusiastically planning their Eid looks and trying to make up a mind about what they are going to wear.

Celebrities always play a huge part in influencing their fans and followers styling and makeup choices. This also happens because throughout the month of Ramadan, the TV audience get to see their favorite celebrities on-screen or in these days, on social media, wearing new and in-trend clothes, stylized differently as well as carrying such hair and makeup looks which are done keeping the personality as well as outfit of the celebrity in mind. This gives the audience a clear perspective of what is going to look good and what’s in fashion.

Here are 5 celebrity looks that you can take your Eid inspiration from:

The No Makeup Look

This look of Sana Javed is perfect for the early risers and those who are the first ones to host their family members and relatives at their homes for Eid breakfast. This look is not only easy to achieve but is going to get you started for the day, without putting in too much effort.

A hint of eyeshadow on the eyes to give them depth and definition and a coat of mascara is all that is needed for the eye look. The eyebrows need light-handed definition to frame the face without looking too harsh. The rest of the face can be covered in a lighter coverage powder foundation to target the discoloration and give an even skin tone. A peachish pink blush on the apples of the cheeks and a sheer tint or colored lip gloss to complete the look. This will barely take your time and will also look good in early morning Eid pictures.

The hair style is also perfect for those who don’t want the hair strands getting in the way because a major part of the Eid day is spent serving the food that is cooked in the house to the guests. Twisting the hair strands and pinning them at the back is the easiest hairstyle to achieve.

The Natural Looking Makeup With Hints of Color

This hair and makeup look that Alizeh Shah sports is going to be perfect for the afternoon of Eid. This will not demand a lot of time but is achievable when you’re not in rush. In this look, eyes are defined with a few eyeshadows. A color on the lid and darker browns on the crease and under the eye to make them appear bigger. A few coats of mascara and tightlining of the eye which will give your eyes a depth without having to spend time on perfecting the eyeliner. Defined eyebrows will also need some patience but can be done in 2 minutes.

This look is also going to include bronzing around the face for the sun-kissed look. Light bronzing on the hollows of the cheeks, around the forehead and on the jawline. Blush merged with bronzed areas of the cheeks to give a feminine and fresh look. A nude shade lip color, can either be a nude brown, nude pink or even a mauve, which won’t be too much and just subtle enough to complete the look.

The hair can be straightened in no time and will stay tamed throughout the day. They can be tied in sleek ponytail when it gets too hot bearing the hot and humid weather of Pakistan in mind.

The Classic Winged Eyeliner & Red Pout

This look is going to be perfect if you’re wearing a unique colored dress and do not want to bring all those colors on your face. This look carried by Hania Amir is also easily achievable and is the sort that will not go wrong. The winged eyeliner might terrify people but when applied with eye pencil, winged eyeliners do not take a lot of time. In this look, a shimmery eyeshadow blended into the crease with a basic brown shade is all the work that will be done on the eyes. The entire look will be completed with a winged eyeliner and lots of mascara.

The face won’t also need a lot of shading and coloring because the main attention will be on the lips however a little bronzing and peachish blush is always a good idea. The main attraction will be a red lip. Since Eid day is all about eating delicious food, going for a liquid lipstick is going to be a safe bet because it won’t budge.

The hairstyle is also easily achievable and probably the most practical because in this weather, keeping the hair untied is not only difficult but hard to maintain. Hair parted in the center and tied in a sleek bun is summer appropriate and will give you an elegant look.

The Basic Eye & Bold Lip Look

This makeup look of Ayeza Khan is also going to be your quick fix during Eid. This kind of look can be worn at any time of the day and barely needs any time. It will make one look made up without having to put in a lot of effort. The eyes only need 2 shades nicely blended together. This eyelook is complete without eyeliner and just a bit of mascara. The darker shade can be extended under the eye to make them appear bigger.

The rest of the face can be done with either liquid or powder foundation. Another beautiful aspect of this look is the shimmery highlighter applied on the cheekbones and other high points of the face. The product that will complete the look will be the bold colored lipstick, it can be a shade of plum or maroon or even bright darker pink, any color can be used to finish of the look.

The hair can be styled in loose curls and little volume can be added by slightly backcombing the hair, it will allow the hair to sit nicely and stay in place. The hair can be set loose at the back or moved in front of the shoulder.

This look of Nadia Khan is appropriate for the big Eid family dinner. 5 Celebrities Who Own Beauty Salons and Making Huge Through It

There is a popular quote that we all have heard every now and then, the quote being “Never put all your eggs in one basket”. In today’s world, this quote is truer than it ever was. Celebrities of the Pakistani showbiz industry took this quote quite seriously and implemented this saying by starting up their own business ventures and became entrepreneurs. Many actors and actresses chose to start a business within the film industry for instance Hareem Farooq, Adnan Siddiqui, Humayun Saeed, and Fahad Mustafa initiated production houses respectively. Some celebrities like Junaid Jamshed, Waseem Badami, Hocane sisters, and Fawad Khan started their own clothing brands. A handful of actresses such as Atiqa Odho started her own cosmetics brand of the same name. In short, every celebrity is doing something on the side and is not entirely dependent on the acting career.

The interesting thing about selfies is that the word selfie did not even exist in the dictionary few years ago! There was no concept of people taking their own pictures because smart phones and webcams etc with which one can easily their own picture were introduced only few years ago. There was also a time when the results of selfies were not so fantastic that people could have put them on the social media pages. 5 Celebrities Who Could Do Better as Judges in Pakistan Idol!

0

If you are music freak or a reality show lover, a housewife or a student, in short any one, you have one thing common with every other person here and that is the busy slots which you have reserved for Pakistan Idol. It is certainly a moment of proud to have our own reality show with so much of talent representing Pakistan. Now that we have our 24 contestants finalized, it is really important to rethink about the selection of the judges for Pakistan Idol. I, personally, am ok with Hadiqa  Kiyani and Bushra Ansari and their judging capabilities but as for Pakistan Idol, we had some better music icons who could have done a real better job.

Here are 5 of my favorite judges whom I wanted to see as judges. Let us see how many of you agree this time.

1)      Abida Parveen

4

Abida Parveen would have been a perfect match for a show as big as Pakistan Idol. She was invited as judge in Voice of India preciously and also judged the joint venture of Pakistan and India.

2)      Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

RFAK

It was extremely a shock not to see him judging it in the first place. After watching ‘Rishtay Kuch Adhooray se’, I started assuming that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan would be judging Pakistan Idol for sure but his absence has not only disappointed me a lot but has also raised questions on the selection committee of  Pakistan Idol.

3)      Sajad Ali

402060699_640

Sajad Ali was previously considered for this judging but somehow things didn’t work and he was dropped out of the choices. Sajad Ali’s presence would have added more charm to this reality show.

4)      Shafqat Amanat Ali

Shafqat-Amanat-Ali-Manchala

Not even Shafqat? I mean we have some great musical icons and none of them have actually been offered this huge responsibility?

5)      Waqar Ali

Waqar_Ali_picjpg_5_xfbzf

Waqar Ali is the most popular composer here in Pakistan and could have been a good option for judging the show.  Not to mention, Anu Malik in Indian Idol has had been the only consistent judge as it is important to have a composer in the judging panel.

All from my side! Are you satisfied with the judging capabilities of the selected judges? Please Share.

Blessings,

Nida Zaidi

5 Celebrities Who Are Not Born To Act!

0

Not every domain is open for all. What happens when a wrong field is chosen is that a person not only spoils his career in trying to match the standards of that field, but also puts a full stop on his real talent. We have been talking about different celebrities so far and have also been criticizing some for their bad acting quite often. I just gave it a thought and have compiled a list of 5 celebrities who have wrongly chosen their career.

1)      Shehzad Sheikh

shehzad-sheikh

The son of one of the leading actor Javed Sheikh, Shehzad sheikh has aimed really high by continuously trying hard to act. It comes as no surprise that he fails each time to impress the audience by his skills, which he assume to have inherited.

Yes, he is good looking, tall, and trendy, there lacks a stardom feel on his face. Shehzad could have made his name even better in something like sports, business, and production or even in finance.

It is really hard to imagine him as a model even; watching him on screen with emotionless expressions is out-of-will for most of the viewers.

2)      Kashif Mehmood

Untitled

*Tada*,This man overacts a lot. If you are following Ishq Humari Galiyu main, you will agree that because of Kashif Mehmood’s unneeded overacting, the drama has lost its originality. There are strict fathers, even Gaiti’s father holds more or less the same shade but again, Kashif has not followed the character well. This is not for the first time but he has always been an over-actor, when he cries, he cries like Shahrukh Khan (at least tries to), when he speaks, he tries speaking like Sunny Deol or someone like Punjabi terrestrial movie.

I perceive Kashif as to be a good host, a trainer or lecturer, or may be as a political leader even. He sounds diplomatic, he speaks loud, he is confident, but for me, he lacks acting!

3)      Sahir Lodhi

582596_367344976706167_1999612276_n

Sahir had been enjoying some great respect as a radio host and people were literally following him for his show, The Sahir Show which used to go on air on FM 103. I had been his fan and the special segments he introduced in his show were really great. However, the moment he deviated from his actual talent, he lost it all, all of the respect, all of his fame. He is taken as a matter of laughter on social media. No matter how much the channels now pay him for dancing in talk shows, he has significantly lost his followers with the loss of dignity in his personality. And, yes,  he is completely a failure as an actor.

Sahir Lodhi seems to be a capable man who knows what audience wants to follow when even the audience doesn’t know about it. It’s a big thing you see. He could have done pretty well as a fashion designer after being a RJ.

4)      Gohar Mumtaz

Jal-the-band2

Phir Ayi Tanhaiin Gohar Mumtaz’s career and it was obvious. Gohar earned prominence for his guitar playing and vocals and enjoyed female fan following for his looks soon Jal launched itself. However, our celebrities should give it a thought that looking good doesn’t mean always to turn you into an actor. Gohar’s acting was totally unbearable in Tanhaai, and I am afraid that he might soon appear again on screen as per the news of Umera Ahmed’s upcoming drama where Gohar has been casted in the lead role.

Gohar is a singer, so it would have been wiser to stick to his actual talent and cash his real worth.

5)      Noman Habib

Main-Hoon-Shahid-Afridi-Noman-Habib

Have you watched MHSA? Well I have. Noman Habib’s acting in the film is something I cannot actually rate in the film. He didn’t do justice to his role at all and at times I sensed a famine touch in his dialogue delivery in the movie, May be it was how the character was written to be. Now that Noman Habib will be appearing in comedy sitcom ‘Bunty I love you’ on Hum TV, I am afraid that the channel and the actor, both will suffer with such a bogus idea.

Noman is no doubt, good looking, his career in modelling and fashion designing could have made him more famous-and-Useful.

That’s all for now, please feel free to share your views about the list. Also, add some of your analysis related to the topic.

Blessings,

Nida Zaidi

5 Campaigns You Should Watch This Women’s Day

It’s true that the world is progressing and improving in every aspect with the passage of time, though in reality many things suggest otherwise. Pakistan has a diverse ethnic background and women make up half of the population while women’s role in society is still suppressed. Women’s day is celebrated all over the world on March 8 in order to forge a more gender inclusive world.

There have been very few campaigns or drama that show the true meaning of the commonly misused terms: ‘woman empowerment’ and ‘breaking stereotypes’. Steering away from the melodramatic genre, there were only a few campaigns that managed to deliver a proper message. The debate, if the video portrays the reality or not is a never ending one but the message carried is something we all can easily connect to. Here’s a list of 5 campaigns or advertisements you should watch this women’s day.

1) Gul Ahmed
It’s always good to see brands taking an initiative to work towards something better. Gul Ahmed’s latest commercial was a complete breath of fresh air as it utilized a realistic strategy, focusing on how imperfections make a person beautiful. The bold and thought-provoking idea breaks stereotypes with a style and gives women the confidence to be comfortable in their own skin with their own imperfections and encourages women to embrace imperfection.

2) Q-mobile
The 4 minute TVC is about the women empowerment and father-daughter love, furthermore it also highlights how difficult it is for girls to get support and appreciation from their families even after having immense talent.

3) FM 91
#WomenWill has an incredible message to share with the world as it talks about the misery girls go through in our society in the name of finding the right suitor for marriage. The brand reached out to tackle the issues that women usually face.

4) Dawlance
Dawlance tvc celebrates women empowerment by highlighting woman who are making Pakistan proud in all walks of life. Pakistani women achievers today not only play a pivotal role in the progress of the nation but also represent the country across the globe; be it business, sports and education, to name some.

5) Beat Me
UN Women Pakistan’s campaign challenges the odds and is a bold step to equality. The campaign video, titled I’m Unbeatable, urges people to beat women. The #BeatMe campaign aims to inspire women to reaffirm that they are stronger than they are made to believe. It also seeks to break the perception that a woman is weak. The portrayal or the video might not be liked by everyone but the message is indeed correct.

“REMEMBER: 8 March isn’t just any other day; it’s about women and men (yes, men too) joining forces and recognizing the achievements of women.” – Un Women Pakistan

What did you think of these campaigns sending messages?

5 Actors Who Are Ruling The Television Screen This Season

Pakistani television industry is a very important part of our entertainment industry because almost every household can afford the luxury of watching Pakistani dramas on their television screens. Pakistani drama artists also become more popular than models and film artists because they are admired by many people who watch these dramas. Pakistani drama actors, males and females, are very talented but not all these actors always impress the viewers with their acting skills because their talent is wasted if the dramas they are working in do not provide the kind of entertainment which resonates with the wider audience.

It is also a fact that people get tired of watching some actors perform similar roles repeatedly. Such typecasting bores the viewers and they lose interest in the actor even though there is nothing wrong with their acting skills.

Pakistani dramas are divided in seasons nowadays. In the latest slot of dramas in different channels, some actors are shining more than others because of their impressive performances and because the dramas they are working in are gaining popularity.

Here are 5 top actors who are undoubtedly ruling this season of dramas.

Zahid Ahmed

Zahid Ahmed is the true example of an actor who came, saw and conquered not only the realm of acting but also the hearts of people. Even when he played negative roles in many dramas the viewers saw his talent. Nowadays he is seen in the most popular plays Zara Yaad Kar and Besharam both of which air on the same day but on different channels. Viewers also love this gentleman because of the variations in the characters he performs.
