Junaid Jamshed demands removal of DIL DIL PAKISTAN from Pepsi TVC

0

Since the cricket season is on, the much hyped TVC now a days is of Pepsi where we see bunch of shining stars and above all, the part that make this TVC remarkable is the addition of DIL DIL PAKISTAN, originally sung by Vital Signs in 1987; This song was declared as 3rd Most Famous Song of the World by BBC at that time.

Now that it has been made part of Pepsi TVC , seems like the original singers are not happy with it. JJ claimed that beverage company has violated the copyrights law by adding his song in the commercial without his consent.

JJ claimed that they should pay Rs 10 million as compensation and stop playing Pepsi TVC. Sindh High Court ordered Pepsi to edit the TVC and remove the song before airing it again.

As a result, all we can hear now is “Pakistan”, DIL DIL has been removed from this TVC .. :)

Salman Ahmed, once part of Vital Signs, also expressed satisfaction after the removal of song from commercial.

On serious note, Ayesha Umer ruined the charm of song by remixing it this way. (Personal thought :P)

Juhi Chawla Husband – 10 Adorable Pictures

0

Juhi Chawla is one of the finest actresses Bollywood has. The 53 years old actress has been a part of numerous hit movies. In this article, we will give you an insight into Juhi Chawla’s real life, his film career, and film choices. We will talk about Juhi Chawla’s husband and his occupation.

Juhi Chawla is an Indian actress, filmmaker, and business visionary who was the champ of the 1984 Miss India Beauty Contest. She became one of the most famous Bollywood actresses at the end of the 1980s until the mid-2000s and picked up acknowledgment for her comedic timing and energetic on-screen persona.

Juhi Chawla made her film debut in 1986 with Sultanat and got public acknowledgment with the appalling sentiment Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). She set up herself as the main actress of Hindi film by featuring in Lootere (1993), Aaina (1993), Darr (1993), and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. The further achievement came in 1997 with films including Deewana Mastana (1997), Yes Boss (1997), and Ishq (1997) turning out to be business victories.

The next decade, Chawla was eager to play against type and started working with unconventional producers in art-house projects, gathering basic praise for her exhibitions in Jhankaar Beats (2003), 3 Deewarein (2003), My Brother Nikhil (2005), I Am (2011) and Gulaab Gang (2014). In addition, she featured in a few Punjabi films, including the biopics Shaheed Udham Singh (2000), Des Hoyaa Pardes (2004), Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris (2006), and Sukhmani – Hope forever.

Juhi Chawla broke numerous hearts when she furtively got married to Indian businessman Jay Mehta in 1996. The Bollywood entertainer was at the pinnacle of her profession at that point. Juhi Chawla didn’t reveal that she has tied the knots at first because she thought it will fade her stardom and charisma. According to Juhi Chawla, it was easy to do it at that time, as no one had access to the internet and people don’t use to have cameras in their hands.

Juhi Chawla’s husband Jay Mehta is an Indian Businessman. He is the child of Mahendra Mehta and Sunayana Mehta and grandson of Nanji Kalidas Mehta, who owns the Mehta Group which is spread over Africa, India, Canada, and the United States.

Jay Mehta possesses the Mehta Group, a worldwide organization. Jay Mehta possesses two organizations in India: Saurashtra Cement Ltd (Ranavav close to Porbandar, Gujarat) and Gujarat Sidhee Cement Ltd (Veraval Gujarat India). Alongside entertainer Shahrukh Khan, he is a co-proprietor of the Indian Premier League group Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jay Mehta was formerly hitched to Sujata Birla, sister of Yash Birla who passed on in the Flight 605 plane accident in 1990. Mehta has two youngsters with spouse Juhi Chawla, a little girl, Jahnavi Mehta (brought into the world 2001), and a child, Arjun Mehta (brought into the world 2003).

Jugnoo – The End!

0

Ohkay so, the episode last night marked the ending of Jugnoo. Even though they gave a very detailed & a complete ending, I still was finding it hard to sit through the episode because of its pace. I really believe this drama was suitable for 14-15 episodes because they sacrificed the pace through the second half of drama for the sake of filling the number of episodes they had decided.

Jugnoo finally found her happy ending because her persistence took Baba Sahab back to the days when he first fell in love & got married to the love of his life. It was good to see Ayesha & Ghazala sharing a nice sisterly bond where Ayesha tackled the whole situation properly like an elder sibling who only wanted what was best for her younger sister. For me, both Ayesha & Ghazala would be the characters that I liked because they were reasonable, logical & rational. At least they both had the tendency to analyze the situation & take proper measures when needed. At first I really thought Ghazala was a direction less girl who had no thought process of her own but I am glad that in the following episodes she proved to be the otherwise. Both Ghazala & Ayesha said the things we all had in our minds about Zulfi, they understood that Zulfi was a spineless person who had no guts to stand up for himself & his lady love. In the couple of last episodes, I liked Ghazala/Ayesha/Saadi’s track more than the main Jugnoo/Zulfi/Tanveer/Baba Sahab’s tracks because the former were logical & their conversations made a lot more sense.

I don’t intend to throw any pun on Zulfi but was he suffering from a sore throat because I really wanted to hear him say something in the last episode? I mean he was the one right, for whom Jugnoo was going through so much pain & hardships & in the end he was seen rolling his eyes as if he was incapable of speaking? It was kind of ironic that everyone around Zulfi was taking decisions for him but the guy himself was least bothered. Ghazala & Ayesha found a way out which turned into his favor, Jugnoo fought harder which again benefitted him & then in the end Baba Sahab & Tanveer brought themselves to forgive & accept Jugnoo without even hearing what Zulfi had to say, so may I ask what Zulfi’s contribution in this drama was? Yes, the answer is obvious – ZERO!

To be very honest, the monotony of this drama wasn’t as bothersome as Zulfi was, because to see a brain-dead male main lead in a drama was quite irritating. I still can’t believe why the writer turned him into a mentally handicapped person because his brain worked just fine when the drama began. May be Murree’s chilled weather froze his brains & left him incapacitated, but yes, for me, Zulfi’s character was an epic fail. Coming onto Jugnoo, she was different & nice, to be honest, the thing I liked about her character the most was her independence & self-sufficiency because she proved everyone wrong & achieved what she wanted to. Jugnoo told us that if you are sincere & determined to have something (no matter if that thing is as useless as Zulfi) you will get it.

Even now when the drama has ended, I still am unable to figure out the importance & the requirement of Khala Kissho’s character. She was just a gossip buddy to Khala Jahangir, it would’ve looked good if they had kept it that way but the coverage that she got really seems unnecessary because they didn’t offer us anything interesting & we still can’t make out what her real issues were?

Overall, this drama had a rocking start but it derailed from the right track especially after Zulfi’s family shifted to Murree. They literally had nothing to offer but they just stretched it for the sake of it. Dr. Saadi’s character was good too because that man stood up for the right too & oh, how can I forget Ghazala’s mother, who also had no mental capability of analyzing a situation. I really think that the writer put in a lot more effort on Jugnoo’s & Kissho’s characters that she forgot to etch out the rest of the characters properly. Everyone else started to look like filler without having a personality of their own. In the beginning it looked like Tanveer was more interested in the business but later he turned out to be Baba Sahab’s personal goon whom he had kept to shoo his enemies away, which again was a boundary pushed wrongly.

Anyhow, Yumna Zaidi really outdid herself in terms of acting, I think this was her best performance & best character so far. She made Jugnoo look so convincing that I survived this drama right from the beginning till the end otherwise I have always found her choice of scripts quite questionable. I really hope that Jugnoo’s character has given Yumna a new perspective to explore more such genres & more such different characters. She indeed was a star of the show & she acted really really well, I am sure no other actress could’ve pulled it off the way Yumna Zaidi did. Please share your thoughts about this drama with us.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Jugnoo – Episode 17!

Oh well, I so wish this drama ends next week because they have literally run out of story completely. I really think this drama was appropriate for 14 episodes but they have stretched it too far. Even though HUM’s dramas don’t usually end at 18 episodes but for Jugnoo, this number seems a lot because both; the story & the direction have derailed from the track.

This episode didn’t offer us anything that we haven’t seen before. It was all about those repetitive dialogues that I have already discussed in my previous review. Yes, the new thing we got to see was Jugnoo giving up on Zulfi but sadly, even she doesn’t realize that he is not worth it. She is only worried about her face saving & how she would be embarrassed in front of Khala Jahangir & Khala Kissho. Even though I really like Jugnoo’s character for the fact that she is ready to go to any lengths to save her marriage & also for the fact that she is an independent, self-sufficient girl but sadly, I am disappointed in her for not realizing that Zulfi is good for nothing & he is just a burden that she would have to carry on her shoulders for the rest of her life if this marriage works out. I expected better from Jugnoo, because she is the one who beat her husband up when she picked up on his lies but the Jugnoo we see now is someone who is just chasing her husband without even having a thought about the things he should be doing for her.

To be honest, Zulfi makes my blood boil. Like seriously, how mentally deranged can he be? To be honest, I never thought that I’d get to see such a healthy yet mentally handicapped character who would have no direction, no thought process & no ‘brain’ of his own! I really want to know was Zulfi still dreaming when he saw Jugnoo coming back from the dead! I am amazed that Zulfi couldn’t understand what a liar his brother is for telling him that Jugnoo has died whereas she survived a murder attempt that Tanveer planned for her, yet again Zulfi chose to believe another lie that Tanveer fabricated about Jugnoo signing the divorce papers after making a deal with him? I really cannot imagine that Zulfi was shown as a university student because going by the IQ level he embraces; he graces the level of a Kindergartener better. Zulfi is so dumb to figure out that Tanveer has been lying to him throughout but where he didn’t have the brains to put two & two together he had the audacity to complain about Jugnoo’s deal in front of Ghazala, like seriously, what have you done for Jugnoo that she shouldn’t sign any such deal with anyone to be freed from being bound to such a dud like you? I think Jugnoo should’ve gone ahead with the offer that Tanveer gave to her because she would’ve been better off that way.

I am amazed that even after Ayesha told Zulfi how he should go ahead & lead a happy life with Jugnoo, he chose to stay back to listen to more such gibberish that Tanveer fabricated out of thin air. I really don’t think it was a good idea to put the main leads & their brains in the back seat & give the front seat to the side characters because it’s been a while, I am only getting to see Tanveer, Ghazala, Ayesha, Saadi, Baba Sahab & the Baby Mother (who once again blurted that her daughter is innocent) in the picture & they have started to tick me off. It’s like they are ruling the course of both Jugnoo & Zulfi’s life & those who should be concerned the most about their personal matters are least bothered where Zulfi has bit his tongue, has lost his sense of speaking & Jugnoo is making the most of her trip to Murree by dedicating her time to the sightseeing because she obviously thinks she would never get to visit Murree again.

To be honest, this drama stopped making sense long time ago but I kept on giving it a chance after a chance thinking there must be something in store for us but I was sadly mistaken. Introduction of Dr. Saadi’s character made things interesting but looks like he had very limited dialogues to work with therefore he kept on tweaking his dialogues to stay in the scenario without looking like someone who had nothing to talk about. Actually the ending of such sort of love stories that go through so many phases is the most interesting bit where everyone waits & anticipates about what’s going to happen in the end but after this episode, I really don’t think I’d be bothered at all to find out if our Jugnoo unfortunately has met her happy ending which is going to be anything by happy! Jugnoo – Episode 16!

Oh God! To be honest, it was so hard for me to watch this episode of Jugnoo in one go & even when I watched it in installments, I found it really hard to keep my interest intact because this episode didn’t offer anything new & the comedy done by Jugnoo seemed a lot more forced too. It is so obvious that the script has ended may be 3 – 4 episodes ago & now the team of Jugnoo is just stretching it for the sake of completing the number of episodes they had in mind.

This episode was all about Jugnoo being all over Murree & by looking her doing that really stirred the question in my mind as to how was she managing it? She was even there in Zulfi’s room, she was out there to intimidate Tanveer, she even went to meet Ayesha when she just woke up & even though Ayesha & her mother are communicating on phone while being in the same town showing they might be at a safe distance, Jugnoo also went to have a conversation with Ghazala. Yes, I know that Murree is a very small town because I have lived there myself but I don’t think anyone can manage to hop around & cover the distance with a blink of an eye. The whole comedy factor in this episode was anything but comic. The actor playing the character of Tanveer seemed so out of his comfort zone when he had to act all goofy & frightened by Jugnoo & he made it pretty obvious too. To be honest, as much as they tried to make it seem funny, it was actually quite painful instead of being humorous. Similarly, looks like Saman Ansari was having a hard time while acting in this particular episode too & there was some sort of discontinuity in between the scenes & the conversations. I found the direction to be really poor throughout this episode.

I am sorry to say but Zulfi is such a pain. How many times will he put Jugnoo & her love through a test? She has proved her love for him plenty of times & it still hasn’t occurred to him that it is a high time he should do something for her instead of happily agreeing to be in a house arrest. It is just so annoying to see him least bothered & unaffected even after he knows that Jugnoo is trying so hard to be with him & she is facing the big elephants all alone, on her own. I think there was a chance for Zulfi to redeem himself but that chance has gone by ages ago & nothing that he would do will change my opinion about him ever.

Even though I have always liked Jahangir, Kissho & Shahjahan’s conversation, they were annoying too because they were absolutely monotonous. Kissho’s fixation with Jugnoo is beyond me & I mean are they really trying to show that Kissho is competing with Jugnoo in some way? She is in her 30’s & Jugnoo is in her early 20’s, so the competition & comparison is out of question. I find Kissho’s obsession with Jugnoo & her disinterest in her own martial life quite boring because it has been this way the moment the drama began. All this while I really thought that her track would have a meaning of some sort & all the coverage that she has been getting will be justified but now when I know that the drama’s ending, I can’t help but think that if her track wouldn’t have been added, we wouldn’t have missed something huge because her character & track has been a complete failure in a way that neither did it stir any sympathy nor did it contain any lesson. It looks like Kissho’s character was just added to bring in a companion for Jahangir, who would sit with her & backbite about Jugnoo never-endingly.

I must say, Ghazala & Ayesha’s mother is so immature & unreasonable. She pretty much knows by now that Zulfi’s married & any sane mother would want her daughter to get married to a guy who hasn’t been married before, a guy who is mentally & emotionally stable like Dr. Saadi, a guy who makes a decent living & is working himself but she is persistent on getting Ghazala married to a spineless Zulfi who is just a student, a daddy’s-boy who has no control over his life & what for? I believe she might be insane, unreasonable or downright stupid. She has always believed that her daughter Ghazala is quite innocent & simple, so shouldn’t she find a guy like Dr. Saadi for her who would take care of her daughter & not someone like Zulfi who himself doesn’t know what he wants from his life?

Yes, this drama was entertaining & different in the beginning but it has lost its charm because the comic factor they were depending on wasn’t so strong to last for the whole drama, it did work but stopped in the middle because may be they decided to rely on it too much. Most of the dialogues have been so repetitive that I just know what they are going to say. Ghazala’s mother telling her time & again ‘ke tum bohat masoom ho’, Tanveer calling Jugnoo ‘jahil aurat’, Baba Sahab telling Zulfi ‘tumhara Jugnoo se koi taluq nahi hai’, Jahangir & Kissho assuming ‘ke Jugnoo to pit pita rahi hai’ etc; all such dialogues have been used so much that all the conversations more or less revolve around these lines only.

Anyways, please keep in mind that while discussing the characters, I am only speaking about the characters & not the actors at all. When I actually direct my comments at the actors, I use their names, so just to be clear, I think both Zahid Ahmed & Yumna Zaidi have done their jobs well but it is the writer who failed to etch out the rest of the characters properly & even when all the actors have tried to give their best shot, they really couldn’t. I feel it was only Jugnoo’s character that got all the attention that is why we didn’t get much from other characters to form a connection with. Jugnoo – Episode 15!

Ohkay so, to be honest, as much as I take Jugnoo as a light hearted entertaining drama, I really think they need to move on. I am sure they might be having some new things to offer but they are now making it look like they have run out of story & are now just dragging the drama for the sake of reaching the 20 episode mark. I have always enjoyed the spontaneity of this drama but to be honest, last few episodes have offered us nothing new. All the episodes seem to have a similar pattern, where Jugnoo tries hard to be with Zulfi, Zulfi is being brain-fed, Tanveer & Baba Sahab are planning & plotting, Kissho is whining & in the end, we get to see some supposed comical scenes where Jugnoo’s putting up a show at Zulfi’s house, that’s it but to be honest, even those scenes have started to look forced because they don’t stir a laughter anymore. I really think they need to move things on because the drama has started to lose its charm & it ain’t fun watching repeat telecast of every previous episode, every single week.

Looks like Kissho is about to have a baby because a lot of their conversations are revolving around that subject. They think they might not have one but eventually this is what will happen to bring both Rafique & Kissho together. I loved the way Rafique gave a piece of his mind to Kissho & her sisters. To be honest, I find him right this time because he actually tries to make things right but Kissho doesn’t want anything good to happen to her. I have started losing the sympathy that I once used to have with her because looks like she herself doesn’t want her life to be smooth & she invited all these problems in her life herself.

Zulfi really needs to get a life or sleep a deep sleep because he is so brain-dead that it’s not even funny. Looks like he can process things rightly but he doesn’t want to & I have no idea why everyone is fixated with him. What’s the point of undoing something that Zulfi has been done. Yes, Baba Sahab & Tanveer are blinded by the rage & their egos but then, I find their dialogues so monotonous that I know I don’t even have to listen to what they are saying because there’s nothing new in it.

Of all the people, Zulfi annoys me the most. He not only is spineless but he has no brains as well, that is why he chose to believe what Tanveer said & even followed his command & started doubting Jugnoo, how stupid is that? As much as I love Jugnoo’s character that she is tackling everything on her own, I really don’t think there was a need to make Zulfi’s character so spineless. I think our writers need to find a perfect balance because normally, if a guy is too head-strong, the girl is brain-dead & in this drama, it’s the opposite. I feel the writers overdo the extremity in the characters which they should avoid because only then people can enjoy the situations both the main leads are involved in.

The preview of the next episode suggested that Ayesha is talking about how Zulfi doesn’t support & stand for Jugnoo, then I need to ask, when she knows Zulfi in & out, why did she want her younger sister to get married to such a guy? In the initial episodes we found out that Tanveer wants Zulfi to stay at some distance because he didn’t want any partner in the business, so why is he so focused on parting Zulfi from Jugnoo? Isn’t it an ideal situation for Tanveer to just let both Zulfi & Jugnoo be, because that way, Zulfi will remain too distracted to even think of joining the family business? Anyways, I really hope the story moves on & if not, then the drama ends within next couple of episodes. Share your say with us please.

Jugnoo – Episode 13 & 14!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Jugnoo were more like a rollercoaster ride. As much as I am happy for how the events have unraveled into Jugnoo’s favor, I really am not happy with Zulfi’s take on this whole situation & to be honest, seeing how hard Jugnoo is working on this relation, I really don’t think Zulfi’s worth it. To be honest, even though these two episodes were great & promised us something new, the preview at the end of tonight’s episode didn’t seem promising at all because looks like they will be dragging the story now only for the sake of filling the number of episodes the channel has asked them to air.

I really liked Ghazala’s character & her thought process during this fiasco because of all the people she knew how to take a stand for herself. Yes, she likes Dr. Saadi but too bad, she has been so preoccupied with all the planning plotting done by her mother & sister that she really didn’t get much time to sort her feelings out, however I am really happy that at least she had the guts to say the truth out loud to Zulfi, for how he has been so spineless & for how he has failed Jugnoo; the girl who loves him so much.

Jugnoo showed up just in the nick of time to save her marriage because this is exactly what Dr. Saadi & Ghazala wished for as well. Dr. Saadi really likes Ghazala & he is looking for a chance to be with her because he really intends to marry her. Ghazala on the other hand has also fallen for Dr. Saadi but she is absolutely scattered brained due to all the shocking revelations which is why she hasn’t been able to say that out loud as to how much she likes Dr. Saadi. I really didn’t understand why Ayesha & her mother are bent on getting Ghazala married to Zulfi. Even though, they now are well aware of the fact that the things Tanveer & Baba Sahab have been telling them about Jugnoo & Zulfi were just white lies, but Ghazala’s mother also thinks Zulfi’s worth it & he is the only guy who can make her daughter happy, whereas he has never given anyone a chance to have such a high opinion of him, so her mother’s stand on this whole situation seems to be coming from someone who is quite immature. Also, to hear her say that Zulfi’s social status is the reason why people are trying to create havoc in his life was another thought that made me laugh, she really lives in a bubble, doesn’t she, where she thinks being so unreasonably unrealistic is absolutely fine?

I felt that Dr. Saadi redeemed himself because he was feeling guilty for fooling Jugnoo. I am sure he wouldn’t have changed his mind if he had not met Ghazala & that is the moment when he felt he was not only wronging Jugnoo but he was being a part of the plot where another girl’s life was being ruined & especially when he met Ghazala he really wanted to save her as well. I think he made a right decision by backing out of the whole plan. Tanveer is just so despicable because just when Dr. Saadi sided with him, Tanveer never questioned his intentions but the moment he decided to walk out of the plan, Tanveer started having doubts about his ‘best friend’ too.

Khala Kissho’s plight & track isn’t interesting anymore, by saying that I mean that she isn’t offering us something new & her story is pretty one dimensional. I really thought that Rafique was wrong & yes, he is wrong 80% but Khala Kissho is responsible for the remaining 20% too. She really isn’t interested in maintaining a healthy relation with her husband & the reason behind her discomfort is her own probing nature where she can’t live without inquiring about Jugnoo, even if it mean s she has to ignore her marital duties & responsibilities. Rafique obviously feels neglected & Khala Kissho’s take on this situation is quite immature as well. I really hope that what they have suggested happens to be true & the baby changes her life & makes it better & happier.

Jugnoo’s return was fantastic like always but then it was nothing short of a déjà vu to be honest. We’ve been there, seen that where she came to rescue her prince in distress & eloped with him temporarily. Zulfi really disappoints me because to see him not even making an effort to find out the truth behind the news of Jugnoo’s death really made him seem illogical & unreasonable. I think Zulfi himself is Jugnoo’s enemy in disguise because without realizing, Jugnoo has put so much at stake for him & without realizing Zulfi really has exposed Jugnoo to so many dangers that even if I want to see them together, I don’t see them working well as a couple.

The preview of the next episode again suggested that the story is going to go on a loop where Zulfi will go back to his Baba Sahab once again, putting Jugnoo through another round of difficulty. I really don’t understand what does Zulfi want & what his plans are. He really is immature, directionless & a purposeless soul. He has lost his path & he has also made Jugnoo’s life miserable too. I respect Jugnoo for not giving up on such a spineless person like Zulfi but to be honest, he isn’t worth it.

I really believe that they should now start wrapping the story up & Jugnoo should have 3 more episodes, 4 at tops because they aren’t left with anything else to show. The acting, the dialogues, those fluent conversations, the locations & last but not the least, Jugnoo’s character; all these aspects have been the highlight of this drama but realistically speaking, they should now end it at a sweet note. :) Please share your thoughts about these two episodes.

Jugnoo – Episode 12!

Oh wow! I wasn’t expecting this episode of Jugnoo to be that good. They have certainly taken the story forward & have made it interesting tenfold. I thoroughly enjoyed all the events that took place in the episode tonight because they kept the pace perfect & made it a lot happening as well.

First & foremost, I must commend the writer for giving us such a female character who can haunt a man of Baba Sahab’s stature in his dreams, haha. I loved that whole dream sequence where Baba Sahab feels terrified of Jugnoo even in his sleep, how cool is that & more than that, how rarely does it happen in our dramas right, where we get to see such girls who give tough time to all the strong men in their lives? I love Jugnoo’s character for the fact that everyone knows this girl means business & she is someone not easy to be messed with, so I give full credit to the writer for etching out Jugnoo’s character with so much perfection. She is level-headed, strong-hearted & has so much of self-esteem that no matter what happens, she deems it not worthy enough to pay heed to it because she is focused on getting what she wants & that is; her life with her husband, Zulfi back.

Even though Dr. Saadi, with his cunning plan didn’t leave a very good impression, but the way he dwelled into a deep thought after he heard Zulfi confess how he was the one who ruined everything in Jugnoo’s life to be with her actually showed, that Dr. Saadi upon getting aware of both the sides of the picture might actually help both Zulfi & Jugnoo in getting back together. Dr. Saadi just gave away the plan because he assumed that Jugnoo was at fault & he did right in a way that he wanted to help his friend Tanveer & also because the way Jugnoo was bothering him at the hospital, made him believe in Tanveer’s side of the story a bit more, but I am glad that he also got to hear what Zulfi had to say because in that case, he will be able to salvage their marriage in my opinion & given how he was eyeing Ghazala, he will have all the more reason to swoop in to prevent Zulfi from getting married to her.

The instant connection both Ghazala & Saadi formed was done really very nicely. Ghazala never actually opened up so much & that is because Zulfi never gave her an edge to do that. All this while, I mistook Ghazala as a very submissive person who had no thought process of her own & wanted to become Baba Sahab’s Bahu because she saw the sort of a luxurious life her elder sister Ayesha leads but this episode made me change my mind about her because Ghazala is more than that. She is intelligent, she is friendly & yes, she is definitely someone who is in touch with her emotional side. She only was looking for someone reliable & easy to communicate with, someone charming enough to make her laugh & engage her in a conversation because just when Dr. Saadi did all of that, she started comparing both Zulfi & Saadi right away & that’s when she understood that Zulfi is not the one for her because he is too weak, & oh by the way, I loved it when she said that about Zulfi, he actually is really weak & it was good to see someone verifying it.

At least, good to know that Zulfi holds himself responsible for putting Jugnoo through so much pain & for ruining her life but then again that is just not enough, right? All he has done is sitting on his bed crying his eyes out instead of contacting Jugnoo’s mother to know what & how did it all happen actually? Even though I agree with his way of dealing with the depression by locking himself up for sometime, I don’t agree with his approach of not trying to get to the core of the matter & just giving up so easily.

Once again, we got to see Lawyer Aunty coming to Jugnoo’s rescue & I smile every time I see them both together. She is one determined lady like Jugnoo & she knows that Jugnoo needs someone’s support because she is fighting a very big battle all by herself, that is why, out of sheer courtesy & as a token of support, she tries to help her out as many a times Jugnoo needs it & I love this whole scenario of empowerment to be honest because that’s another rarity that’s being catered in this drama after a long, long time or maybe for the first time in so many years. Also, for the first time we got to see Jahangir worrying about Jugnoo & that was a treat in its own. Like I said in one of my reviews, Jahangir has a love-hate relationship with Jugnoo, she might not show it, but deep down she always feels just as concerned about Jugnoo as her own mother; Shahjahan, which is actually something really sweet.

To be honest, I now am curious to find out who Baba Sahab’s ~*darling*~ is. :) I really hope she makes it to the screen too because she really has Baba Sahab wrapped around her finger, so I am sure she must be someone really special, haha. :) Overall, it was a very very interesting episode that kept me engaged throughout. I am glad that Jugnoo has finally made it to Murree & now she will give Baba Sahab & Tanveer a run for their money. I must say, I am so happy that a part of this drama has been shot in Murree because having spent 6 years of my childhood there, it brings back a lot of pleasant memories & the best part is that I even recognize the roadside fences & the buildings in the background. <3

Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Jugnoo & oh by the way, the preview was absolutely hilarious. I am so glad that just when Ghazala will be having second thoughts about getting married to Zulfi, Jugnoo will show up with her infamous knife & will make her vow to leave Zulfi alone. So good to see our heroine acting like a hero in this drama & carrying a burden on her shoulders all by herself haha. Let me know how much did you guys enjoy this episode of Jugnoo. :)

Jugnoo – Episode 11!

Ohkay so, this episode of Jugnoo was really interesting because looks like they are taking the story forward & it is becoming a lot more intense. I think it’s happening after quite a while now where we are getting to see Zulfi’s family getting a lot more coverage & to see their side of the story is a good change in my opinion.

I don’t know why, but I always find myself laughing during Rafique & Kissho’s scenes. There’s something hilarious about their situation & especially seeing such a meager person giving Kissho a hard time makes it even funnier. Kissho is in a love-hate relationship with Rafique & that is because every time she tries to do or say something to make Rafique happy, she never gets a reciprocal response she is waiting for or expecting & that makes her give up in her husband temporarily & then she goes back to Jahangir’s place to find solace by backbiting about Jugnoo. Both Kissho & Jahangir’s fixation with Jugnoo is beyond my understanding though. I just want to see them leaving Shahjahan & Jugnoo alone if they can’t find it in their hearts to wish well for the mother daughter duo.

For the first time we got an insight into Zulfi’s character. Yes, he loves Jugnoo & more than that he finds himself responsible for not being able to take care of Jugnoo, which is something good to see because otherwise the presence of his character in the story was looking meaningless so far. Zulfi tried to run into an accident himself & the reasons were still not made very clear. He maybe wants to punish himself or Baba Sahab by hurting himself, but nothing of that sort happened & they grew more attentive towards him, which was the last thing Zulfi wanted.

Sadly, another day brought another & even a bigger test for Jugnoo but I loved how she knew exactly how she should take an advantage of the situation the moment she regained consciousness & she made full use of becoming a patient in the hospital. The entry of the Doctor’s character wasn’t purposeless & he definitely will get to play a major part in the upcoming episodes. Just when I thought that Baba Sahab would at least hesitate at the thought of getting Jugnoo killed, he surprised me with his insensitivity. He was just as thrilled about the idea as Tanveer was & I so hope after this attempt, Jugnoo buckles up & brings these guys down because they are pretty serious about parting her & Zulfi.

“Humne to tez zuban waliyon ki durgat bantay dekhi hai”, this was definitely something that Kissho wasn’t expecting to hear from Jahangir, even though the context was different but the way she got uneasy was amusing. Kissho needs to know that both Jugnoo & she are like two sides of a same coin so that is why before being so judgmental about her niece, Kissho should rectify herself.

I must say Rehan Sheikh has been so so so impressive as Baba Sahab, his dialogue delivery, his expressions & his timing is commendable. He is a strong supporting character in this drama & it is an absolute treat to watch him. “Appki bahu to thi hi, kam se kam fateha to parh lain” & Baba Sahab goes like “May God bless her”, I couldn’t stop laughing because Rehan Sheikh makes it all even more enjoyable with his extemporal approach in every scene, haha. Even though we are still not sure about Zulfi’s character, I must say Zahid Ahmed has done a good job on his own as an actor & also all the actors in the supporting roles have really lifted the level of this drama with their perfect acting. Last but not the least, what shall I say about Yumna Zaidi? She has been phenomenal as Jugnoo & it is only she, who has made the character of Jugnoo just so amazing &  treat for us to watch. Yumna has been effortless in conveying the crux of Jugnoo’s character & it won’t be an overstatement, but I think no other actress would’ve been able to do this character justice like Yumna Zaidi has.

So, this is it from my side. The preview seemed interesting for sure & looks like Jugnoo will make her way back into Zulfi’s life & then it’ll depend on him as to how he takes care of her & protects her from his father & brother. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Jugnoo.

Jugnoo – Episode 10!

Ohkay so, it was another one of those usual episodes of Jugnoo that was filled with some amusing conversations but it showcased a very little progress in the story. I think they have used a couple of episodes as fillers & now it’s a high time to move the story forward because the to & fro of Jugnoo from Zulfi’s place to Khala Jahangir’s place is getting quite repetitive.

I am glad they have introduced another good character of the Lawyer Aunty who helps Jugnoo every single time. I must say Jugnoo has found a perfect person to reach for because she lands herself in trouble quite frequently & that is when her contacts with the lawyer come in handy. I really like how that lady always tries to empower Jugnoo because she knows she is a lost soul who needs a lot of guidance, she knows that for Jugnoo, the dawn of every single day brings another set of challenges that is why she deems it as her duty to help Jugnoo out & advise her rightly, which I find it as something very refreshing & sweet.

I have a feeling that the thing Jugnoo said to Khala Kissho about her Father in law being a flirt might be something that will run the course of Khala Kissho’s life in the future. May be Jugnoo will try to hitch Baba Sahab with Khala Kissho just so that she can have Zulfi too. I know the chances are slim but that conversation really didn’t seem to be coming out of nowhere, I am sure there would be some strings attached & it will unravel in the episodes to come. I am sure if Khala Kissho will find a suitor of Baba Sahab’s calibre, she will throw Rafique out of her life because for starters, she ain’t happy with him & also, she is an opportunist, so I really think if such an opportunity will arise, Khala Kissho wouldn’t let it slip off her hands.

I thoroughly enjoyed the moment when Shahjahan didn’t leave a chance to direct some clear cut taunts at both Khala Jahangir & Khala Kissho. Shahjahan has had enough but just because she knows anything can be expected from Jugnoo, she chooses to remain silent but now when she got an assurance from her daughter that everything was perfectly alright, she took it as an opportunity to let her sisters know very politely how they should mind their own business & shouldn’t get ahead with the assumptions. I must say that conversation was really well written & I couldn’t stop laughing at the curses Shahjahan directed at Bakshi Jee like ‘bomb samait le is kambakhat ko’, lol!

Zulfi disappointed before & Zulfi disappointed this time around too. Just because he knows Jugnoo will find a way to reach him doesn’t mean that he can just sit back & wait for that to happen while playing games on his smartphone. I find his silence very annoying & irritating. I really don’t know if his character is meant to be this way or it hasn’t been written properly because we’re through almost half the drama & his character is beyond my understanding. I find it hard to deduce whether Zulfi is a spoiled brat who has seen so many luxuries in life that he has gotten immune to stay unaffected by everything because he never really had to fight for anything as he always got pampered or he actually is spineless like that who doesn’t know how to take a stand for anything in life.

I am sure things are going to get ugly because first it was only Baba Sahab who was battling with Jugnoo but now Tanveer has joined hands too. Without even bothering to inquire about the status of this relation from Zulfi, Tanveer has just decided to believe in Baba Sahab’s version of the story & he has turned against Jugnoo as well. I am sure Tanveer is capable of a lot more nastiness than Baba Sahab, that is why he suggested something so disgusting like getting Jugnoo killed.

I am sure Jugnoo is one of those who wouldn’t let anything stop her & no matter what comes her way, she actually will get Zulfi back but then as much as I want to see her happy with her man, I really don’t think Zulfi’s worth it, unless he gives us something appreciable about him. So, this was it from my side for the day. Overall, it was a decent episode but I am so looking forward to some progress in the story. I really hope after Jugnoo’s arrival in Murree, things start to shape up & we actually get to see the story moving forward because things have been pretty stagnant from quite a few episodes now. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Jugnoo.

Jugnoo – Episode 09!

Ohkay so, even though this episode of Jugnoo was funny & interesting; I felt it was more like a filler because now the pace of the drama has slowed down & they aren’t really taking things further, but nonetheless, I enjoy watching this drama but I do wish they speed up the process & show us something more.

I really don’t understand why Kissho is so much against Jugnoo & Shahjahan? Shahjahan is just as much her sister as Jahangir is, so why is she always speaking against Shahjahan & giving her a hard time? Is it because she knows that Shahjahan has got nothing & at this point of time, Jahangir is quite influential & has a strong back in her comparison? Even though I enjoy their conversations that are full of assumptions, I really wish they do show some signs of courtesy, if not towards Jugnoo, at least towards Shahjahan because she is quite a harmless person who minds her own business & has had a tough life, so the least they can do is not to add more to her woes.

For a change, it was good to see a new addition Rafique getting some screen time because no matter how short his scenes are, he does leave an impact. ‘Mardana namon wali behnain’ was the comment that cracked me up. I love the way the dialogues have been written & in fact I must commend the dialogue writer for using accurate Urdu because it is a delight to listen to proper Urdu after such a long time. I feel the correct usage of actual language lifts up the essence of whole drama.

So, this was another day in Jugnoo’s life which was filled with some adventure & a lot of trouble. Just when she thought she could relax & enjoy her moment of glory just because Zulfi got rid of Bakshi Jee, she got to face Baba Sahab. I thoroughly enjoyed their showdown & I must say the way Rehan Sheikh & Yumna Zaidi acted during that whole scene with such a perfect timing made it a lot more enjoyable. Baba Sahab once again underestimated Jugnoo but just when he really understood that she is a hard cookie to crack, he resorted to a bigger trap to capture her.

I must say, even though I know that this show is based on Jugnoo’s character, I don’t really understand Zulfi’s character one bit. He was head over heels for Jugnoo & even got married to her but now he has got no spine to stand by his wife? As much as I do like his presence in the show, I really feel his character hasn’t been etched out properly or hasn’t been given a due time to make us understand him better. For now, he comes across as a puppet that either follows Jugnoo’s lead whenever he feels like & then follows his father’s lead because he has no guts to voice out his opinion in front of Baba Sahab? I really hope in the upcoming episodes, we do get to see him handling such situations on his own & not leaving everything for Jugnoo to figure out singlehandedly.

The preview of the next episode wasn’t enticing enough to be honest, but never mind, I am sure there would be some bits & bobs that will provide us with some laughter & for that I am ready to tune to this drama once again. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Jugnoo.

Jugnoo – Episode 08!

Ohkay so, this episode of Jugnoo was happening, enjoyable & filled with a lot of drama as usual. Jugnoo has figured a way to deal with the situation but that is a temporary fix & she yet has to find a long-term solution that will promise her & Zulfi the peace they both are looking for.

According to Jugnoo, the best thing for both her & Zulfi is to lie to Baba Sahab for now. Jugnoo thinks she’d be able to fool Baba Sahab because Zulfi has once again paid Bakshi Jee to be on their side, but little does she know that Bakshi Jee is a lot more far sighted & clever than her. Jugnoo tells Zulfi that he has to stay by her side & do whatever she tells him because she has pretty much seen how spineless Zulfi becomes when he has Baba Sahab in his sights. I like Jugnoo’s character for a fact that she always is ready to face any kind of situation no matter how complex or intricate it might be. She always knows exactly what she should do, which is why she often find her little moments of victories even if they’re meant to be short-lived. What matters the most for Jugnoo is coming out of any whirlpool she may find herself getting drowned in.

The thing I enjoy the most in this whole drama is the way Jugnoo keeps on switching places between her mother’s & her husband’s home. It’s like she always keeps both these households happening & lit up with the drama she creates. It is so obvious that Khala Jahangir & Khala Kissho can’t see her happy & they fit the bill of typical relatives to the T. They are a sad but a true picture of how relatives often get restless when they assume someone’s life is sailing smoothly & how they find satisfaction in someone else’s tribulations. Khala Jahangir is a very unique character that has been written intelligently. She knows exactly how to boss around people & how to benefit from them, that’s why she is often seen ignoring Jugnoo’s harsh taunts because she knows that the mother-daughter duo is of great help to her in this present day & time. Shahjahan takes care of Jahangir’s home & Jugnoo is now a cash cow for her, therefore, Jahangir is ready to tolerate both of them.

It was amusing to see Zulfi following Jugnoo’s lead, it obviously shows that Jugnoo is the man in this relationship because Zulfi is too fragile & pampered to deal with such situations, that is why for now he is ready to do whatever his wife is telling him because for him, this is nothing short of an adventure. He knows he has gotten married to Jugnoo because he found her unique & she actually is very special that is why he doesn’t want to lose her at any cost, even if it means he has to fool his own father because of Jugnoo.

For a change, it was interesting to see a new character; Rafique, husband of Khala Kissho & I found his character & their bickering amusing too but it actually didn’t let me forget the fact that they have normalized domestic violence through Khala Kissho’s predicament. They have given it a comical shape but actually, it is something that isn’t very amusing. Every single time, someone does normally mention about how she gets beaten by her husband & to be honest, I don’t see any point of it nor do I find it amusing or necessary. They could’ve just showed that she doesn’t have much interest in her home & family & loves to spend time with her sisters – at least this way the whole issue of domestic violence wouldn’t have been highlighted in this drama. Yes, I do understand that they have tried to show different ordeals people go through in a light-hearted manner & the reactions that follow, but there is always a better substitute for even the darkest issue. I do like the fact that through Jugnoo, they have always tried to give out a positive message of self-sufficiency & present mindedness by showing a lot of problems in her life, but when it comes to Khala Kissho’s track, I don’t see any lesson that they’re trying to put forth by bringing domestic violence in the picture.

Overall, it was an interesting episode & for a change it is good to see a girl running things on her own. I love how Jugnoo gracefully edits the content she wants to expose to Khala Jahangir & always tweaks with the reality because this gives her an edge to rule over her & prove her wrong. I find this quality of her very admirable. For a girl who has never seen happiness in her life, if this is something that gives her sheer satisfaction & happiness, then she is entitled to go for it. Oh, I must add, I think HUM’s previews are now only meant to show the upcoming scenes of ‘all’ the remaining episodes. What they show in the preview of next episode doesn’t mean that this is what that episode will actually comprise of, so for that & from now on, I won’t be discussing the previews because they have been very misleading lately. Please share your thoughts about tonight’s episode. :)

Jugnoo – Episode 07!

Ohkay so (can’t get enough of this expression, haha) this episode was totally interesting & made me laugh a lot too. I love Jugnoo’s attitude where she always knows how to bounce back from a certain situation. The way she has played with all the people around her goes to show that there is so much in her mind & she has so many ideas that she knows how to pull herself back from any difficulty that she might come across & this is something that I love about her character the most. They might’ve shown it all with a light humour but at least for a change it is good to see a strong girl who fights her own battles & doesn’t care an ounce about the consequences & what others might have to say.

Zulfi obviously felt bad for leaving Jugnoo in the lurch but he couldn’t say much as he knew, nothing that he will say will make Baba Sahab change his mind. He was obviously having a hard time with the European Ghazala because his mind & heart belongs to Jugnoo now. Jugnoo knew she had to go & find Zulfi because she wanted a few questions to be answered. Even though her main motive was to get her husband back but it was also to remind him about how he fell short on his responsibility. She succeeded in finding Zulfi & that trip was full of adventures too. I love how Jugnoo makes ways for herself & has a bigger ego than her problems that she faces.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jugnoo & Zulfi’s meeting & their reactions. It is so obvious that Zulfi has figured out what Jugnoo is like & he likes to depend on her as well because he knows she will find a way out of everything. That is why Zulfi just followed her lead & even followed her orders of stealing the bangles. This is something that Zulfi has never done before but now that he has Jugnoo, he wants her to run his course of life because he enjoys it like anything & he knows he might not have much of a courage that Jugnoo has, so he thinks it’s better not to stop her.

Jugnoo had a full proof plan which is why she knew exactly what she was doing & was going to do. She knew how she had to fool everyone & rescue her husband from Baba Sahab’s arrest. Till date, Jugnoo has been able to make a very bad impression on Baba Sahab & what’s more interesting is that Baba Sahab knows he can’t underestimate this young girl because she has been challenging him since the day they have met. Baba Sahab has pretty much understood that Jugnoo won’t make it easy for him to get Zulfi back & get him married to Ghazala, this is why it seems he is going to take his gloves off.

During all this, what I really loved the most was that before leaving for Murree, Jugnoo gave some money to Khala Jahangir for her mother. It goes to show that even though she might not say, she loves her mother a lot & feels for her because of what Khala Jahangir puts her through. Amidst all the issues that Jugnoo was going through, she made sure to secure her mother’s position in that place, which I thought was very sweet. Jugnoo knows that this is the only thing that will keep her mother tension free in that house because money is something that will make Khala Jahangir respect Shahjahan & before leaving she made sure to do something of that sort which will stop Khala Jahangir from giving her mother a hard time by taunting her incessantly.

This episode was really interesting & I found myself laughing at a few bits, first one was Zulfi uttering he doesn’t have universe but Europe around him & then the way he changed his voice to speak to Baba Sahab on the phone. Zahid Ahmed has been amazing as Zulfi too & Yumna fits this character so well. I like Rehan Sheikh as Baba Sahab as well; he has done a brilliant job to portray the irritated & non-serious businessman. I think along with Baba Sahab, Jugnoo now also has Bakshi Jee who hates her & he will also do everything to make her life miserable. The preview of the next episode seemed a bit more dramatic & I think next episode will change the course of the drama with a lot more challenges & obstacles coming Jugnoo’s way. Please share your say about this episode & let me know what you think.

Jugnoo – Episode 06!

Ohkay so, it was another humour filled episode of Jugnoo which showcased new set of problems that are about to enter Jugnoo’s life & that makes it engaging enough as I’m interested to know how she will deal with everything & everyone on her own.

It’s actually quite sad that as much as both Shahjahan & Jugnoo want to move out of Khala Jahangir’s house, they are forced to stick with her because of the tough circumstances. Khala Jahangir actually may pose a lot about being courteous towards her younger widow sister & her niece but in actual, she is bound to help them because going by what Jugnoo said, Shahjahan has helped Khala Jahangir’s sons in settling abroad. Khala Jahangir is someone who can never be nice to anyone but to see her tolerating both Shahjahan & Jugnoo; who she believes has a ‘das gaz lambi zubaan’ actually shows that she is indebted to them & even if she doesn’t want to help them, she can’t deny the favour Shahjahan did for her sons. It was odd to see Khala Jahangir treating Shahjahan as a substitute of Jugnoo by asking her to take care of the household chores. I actually like how easily all these ladies find a way out of everything & most of the times, how swiftly they pull themselves out of a certain situation that they don’t want to be involved in.

So, as far as Jugnoo & Zulfi’s marriage is concerned, the cat’s out of the bag now because Baba Sahab paid a visit to Zulfi with the intention of surprising his beloved son but instead he ended up getting the biggest surprise & a shock of his life. Baba Sahab obviously has double standards because on one hand he suggested that Zulfi should’ve treated Jugnoo as a time pass & on the other he cannot accept a divorcee as his daughter in law. He may allow Zulfi to befriend as many girls as he likes but he hasn’t given him an edge to marry a girl of his choice because like a typical patriarch, his daughter-in-law’s family background & status means a lot to Baba Sahab.

I must say I like Jugnoo’s character for the fact that even though her life has never been smooth, she never lets anything knock her down. She always holds her head high & is always ready to fight with anything odd that comes her way. She may go on an emotional spree every time but she snaps out of it pretty quickly & buckles herself up to face the new challenge every day. Zulfi may be smitten with his wife & even though Jugnoo knows she can depend on him to some extent, she has already learned the truth that she will have to bring Baba Sahab down all by herself because Zulfi won’t back her up in this fight as he can’t utter a single word in front of his father. I really thought may be Zulfi will stand by his wife but he comes across as someone who chooses to stay on the fence instead of swooping in between someone else’s matters.

Looks like Bakshi Jee’s loyalty changed once again the moment Baba Sahab came into the picture. He was loyal to Zulfi till he was getting paid for keeping his secrets but as soon as he saw Baba Sahab, he knew it was another golden chance of making money this time by telling Baba Sahab the things he wanted to hear. Bakshi Jee can never be loyal to anyone & he had all the more reasons to badmouth Jugnoo because she was on his case since the day she stepped into Zulfi’s life as she doesn’t trust him & she comes from more or less the same social background, so she knew how far Bakshi Jee could go to in order to earn some money.

This episode indeed was interesting & I thoroughly enjoyed Baba Sahab’s reactions & dialogues. Jugnoo is one tough cookie & I am ready to see the battle between the father in law & the daughter in law & obviously, I am rooting for the daughter-in-law; Jugnoo. To be honest, I am actually now eager to see how things will unravel because the story has gotten pretty interesting & intense. The acting indeed was top-notch & Yumna Zaidi has given this character her 100% that too so effortlessly, that I believe it’s safe to say, it looks like this character was tailored for her. Share your thoughts about tonight’s episode please & let me know how much did you guys enjoy watching the showdown between the bloody massi & Baba Sahab? :)

Jugnoo – An Overview!

Ohkay so, based on a novel ‘Shehzori’ written by Mirza Azeem Baig Chughtai, scripted by Amna Mufti, directed by Farooq Rind & produced by Momina Duraid; Jugnoo is a story of a girl whose life is full of some harsh realities but it has been conveyed in a very comical & light-hearted manner, which makes it interesting & a fun thing to watch. Jugnoo is currently airing on HUM TV on Fridays & 5 episodes have already gone on-air.

The central idea of this story is based on the life of a girl named Jugnoo (Yumna Zaidi) who has lost her father but lives with her mother Shahjahan (Humera Bano) at her Khala Jahangir’s (Ismat Zaidi) place. To describe her character in simple words, Jugnoo is someone for whom her pride & honor is everything & she is ready to go to any extreme to protect it. Jugnoo has been more like an errand girl in this house & that is because now when her Khala Jahangir has given her & her mother a shelter to survive, Jugnoo is expected to pay back by helping around with the household chores. The brutal realities of life have forced Jugnoo to become a lot more defensive & brusque because her life has never offered her the things that are normal. For Jugnoo, the only way to escape this gulag of Khala Jahangir & incessant taunts of Khala Kissho is to get married & that’s how she unconsciously welcomes more trials & tribulations in her life.

Collage 1

Right next to Jugnoo’s place; the neighbouring bungalow belongs to Baba Sahab (Rehan Sheikh) who himself lives in a Hill Station but he has appointed a caretaker Bakhsi Jee (Malik Raza) who looks after this property. Baba Sahab has two sons Tanveer (Saad Azhar) & Zulfikaar (Zahid Ahmed). Tanveer helps his father in the family business whereas Zulfikaar comes to the city to pursue his studies & starts living in the bungalow all by himself.

Bakshi Jee is someone whose loyalty is mostly on sale for the sake of few pennies. He is a money hoarder & that is why he allows all sorts of media people to shoot commercials on Baba Sahab’s property as he gets to make money on it through commission & more so, he knows that Zulfi doesn’t bother much about what’s happening in his surroundings.

Jugnoo comes across Imran (Aqeel Abbas) an assistant who is helping with the shooting of a commercial at Zulfi’s place & that’s when Imran starts to follow her & makes her believe that he owns a studio & has a decent life style. Jugnoo; who is on a lookout for an escape from her current life-offering falls prey to Imran’s tacts & decides to get married to him. Even though Khala Jahangir tries to knock some sense into her, Jugnoo, who has a love-hate relationship with her Khala, more of a hate-hate relationship, feels that Khala doesn’t want to let go of Jugnoo as she will lose a precious servant. However, Jugnoo doesn’t pay heed to anyone & gets married to Imran to find out that he lied to her about each & everything. I must say the reaction of Jugnoo that followed after she finds out the reality of Imran was hilarious & I really had a great time watching Jugnoo teaching her husband a good lesson. That’s when the reality starts dawning on her that now she has to live up to everyone’s expectations as she really raised the bar high herself by resorting to unnecessary false claims & for that, Jugnoo starts lying to her family to make them believe that Imran actually is quite well-off & she is really happy.

Collage 2

Imran who actually comes across as a sincere husband later turns out to be quite mean who just takes Jugnoo as a cash cow & thinks she can help him in making a lot of money, because of which he asks Jugnoo to step into modelling. Imran then decides to click a few pictures of Jugnoo on Zulfi’s residence for the sake of her portfolio but that’s when Zulfi stumbles across Jugnoo & gets to meet her for the first time properly because he does get to see her in passing & that’s when he actually falls for her. Zulfi believes Jugnoo is the one for him & for that he decides to meet her again to propose a marriage to her. Imran tries to make Jugnoo understand that she has to lie about being single in order to progress in this field but the moment Zulfi proposes her, she decides to come clean & tells him everything about Imran not being her manager but her husband. Imran & Zulfi make a deal where Imran has to divorce Jugnoo so that Zulfi can have her & in return Zulfi gives him a vintage car that belongs to his father because that’s what Imran’s boss wants & that’s the only way Imran can save his job.

Jugnoo being rough & tough that she is, learns the truth on her own that her marriage was spoiled due to the barter bargain between these two men & she decides to barge her way into Zulfi’s life as she holds him responsible for ruining her marriage but then she does get to know that it was Imran who initiated the deal as he was never sincere with her. Zulfi gets married to her & that’s how Jugnoo gets to show off to her Khala Jahangir & Khala Kissho that she has bagged a very good partner who is not only presentable & well-educated but has a sound background too.

Zulfikaar’s sister in law Ayesha (Saman Ansari) decides on her own that Zulfi should get married to her sister Ghazala & she easily convinces her husband Tanveer & her father-in-law Baba Sahab too. Ayesha has an ulterior motive behind getting Ghazala married to Zulfikaar because she is well aware of her sister’s calibre & she also knows that if Ghazala will become a daughter in law of this family, her future will be secure. Even though Tanveer is quite protective of his younger brother, he still believes in maintaining a distance from him as he wants to take care of the family business singlehandedly & doesn’t want Zulfikaar to pay heed to it at all. Zulfi hasn’t told about his marriage to anyone in the family but going by the preview of the next episode, his father will learn the truth on his own because he will pay a visit to Zulfi & I am sure it will be an interesting encounter between Jugnoo & Baba Sahab.

Collage 03

So, that’s what has happened in the first 5 episodes of the drama & I kind of enjoyed watching it. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical & concerned to see the way they portrayed Jugnoo’s first marriage, then her divorce & then her remarriage as such a normal thing because no matter how comical a drama or a story is, somethings are better left untouched & divorce is nothing to be made fun of & brushed under the carpet. I don’t believe it is something that can be or should be shown or dealt with so casually as well. I later understood that this drama has a comical tinge to it & this treatment will dominate the whole drama & that’s the way the story will be told, so for that, I am fine with it but my suggestion to all those who will tune to this play after reading this overview is that they should just take it as a fictional drama which may have some aspects of reality but doesn’t actually involve reality to some extent because with this approach you won’t have such a hard time seeing divorce being tackled so lightly, like I had. Having said that, if I take it as a good fictional drama, I actually enjoyed watching it because for a change it’s sometimes good to escape a reality & just watch some characters & a story from which you don’t have to extract anything out because then you can just go with the flow & watch it purely for the sake of entertainment.

I must say Yumna Zaidi has taken this drama to a different level & she has elevated it singlehandedly due to her effortless & flawless acting. I don’t know why but the very first episode did remind me of Dhoop Kinare because the backdrop setting was somewhat similar including that long unconstructed road surrounded by the trees & I could see a similarity in Jugnoo of Jugnoo & Zoya of Dhoop Kinare. Yumna Zaidi should be proud of herself for acting so brilliantly in this drama & I believe she has gotten a perfect chance & a perfect character to compliment it with the loudness of her expressions & gesticulation. I actually enjoy the dialogues a lot & all the conversations of Khala Kissho, Khala Jahangir & Shahjahan are written brilliantly. Malik Raza has been great as Bakshi Jee & I actually look forward to his scenes because his character is also a star of the show & the actor has done a complete justice while portraying the mean & commercial character so aptly. Zahid Ahmed has been great as Zulfi too so let’s see what do these guys have more in store for us & oh, I do like the OST as well. Please share your say about this drama & let me know your thoughts. :)

Lately, Juggun Kazim in an interview with “Momina’s Mixed Plate” revealed her unusual tongue piercing story. “What actually happened was, I went to Canada at the age of 17 for higher studies. You know that you try to fit in with everyone and you do all the mad things others are doing just to make a bond with them. As I was living in the all girls section, once the girls planned a hangout and one of the girl from the group which had a lot of piercing said that why don’t we do something crazy. We all agreed to go and get tattoo or piercing whatever one is willing to do”, said Juggun.

Juggun further added that “I also agreed and went with them. When I reached there I got a little scared that my mom will never forgive me for such act and she’ll not let me go back to Canada once I went back home, so I asked the person that which piercing will be invisible somehow. That person said me that the least invisible is tongue piercing and I agreed and got my tongue piercing done. And actually what happened was that only 2 girls did such foolish act, the one who took all of us and the other was me.”

“Later I got to know that tongue piercing has a lot of disadvantages but I kept it for 10 to 15 years. I used to have pink and black colored rod, which was not visible to anyone and a lot of people didn’t actually knew that I’ve my tongue pierced. Finally 2 years ago I took off the ring but still I have a scar on my tongue”, says Juggun.
