Bushra Ansari’ harsh comment on critic Amma aka Lubna Faryad’s review on Zebaish took the internet by the storm.

Here Bushra Ansari’s apology post:
Amma has beautifully responded to Bushra Ansari’s apology in a video message.
She said, “Bushra Ji, I read your post and I felt so good that you accepted your mistake. You also said that writer and director prepare a project like their own children with hardwork but when you give it to a channel it belongs to public then. It depends on the public whether they like it or not.”
She also said, “Bushra ji you said I used harsh words but how can I believe this? Many people and doctors who are working hard in these times praised me and they find my work as a stress relief.”
“Bushra ji, I don’t have harsh words for anyone in my language. I speak like a mother does in her home. I never want to hurt anyone but still, any of your director or writer is hurt then I apologize,” Amma added.
In the end, she said, “Bushra ji I review dramas in these corona times to never hurt anyone but rather it is to entertain people and you enjoy too, Bushra ji. Love you Bushra ji!
Yesterday a video went viral on social media. The content of the video bought everyone in the state of shock. The video showcased the wife of a colonel misbehaving with the police officers at Hazara Highway. There was a long queue of cars waiting for the police to remove the barrier but this woman who claimed to be the wife of a colonel but were nothing more than a hubristic and impertinent started abusing police officers. When the officers denied to remove the barrier as rules were equal for everyone, she went onto removing the barricade her self. When the officers tried to stop her she asked the boy in the car (probably her son) to drive the car over the police officer, because why not? She is wife of a colonel and no force in this world can stop her from doing whatever she wants to do. She even threatened the officer that she would slap him, but kudos to the brave man who instead of being afraid stood there firmly and asked her to slap him if she can.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND TWITTER TRENDS:
The video has been circulating all over the social media. People all over the media are furious over this attitude of colonel’s wife toward civilians. They are raising their voices that why army families are this much privileged? Who gave them right to do whatever they want? Why they always look down towards civilians. #کرنل_کی_بیویی and#کرنل_کی_بیوی_کو_پڑھانا_ہے are the top trends of twitter right now and people want privileged class to learn a lesson this time so next time they think thousand time before doing such a detritus act.
CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF TOOK PROMPT ACTION:
COAS however, took prompt action against this debris act of colonel’s wife. Senior Journalist Gharidah Farooqi took Instagram to share the news that COAS has taken the acting against the Mr. Colonel himself

TROLLING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Colonel’s wife showed her audacious frame of mind for minutes to the police officers but she would be trolled on social media for GOD known how much time. There are a lot of hilarious memes circulating on social media regarding the incident. Here we are sharing a few with you guys. Hold back to your seats because we are sure you will be getting some serious laughter fits.
Well jokes apart, we must understand that all the people cannot be the same. Good and bad people are everyone not everyone is alike. This rouge woman who claimed to be colonel’s wife cannot showcase whole army. There are our Jawans on borders who protects their country putting their own lives on stake. There are wives of army officers who lost their beloved husband for country. We must not forget the sacrifices made by the army families as well. And we also hope that justice would prevail and we all will enjoy equal rights one day.
Lately our dramas have been focusing more on the negatives, so it’s always a delight to see a moment of happiness or at least celebration. And what better way to celebrate than with a wedding scene- even if just for a little while. In recent times, the wedding sequence is a quick 5 minutes wrap-up at the most (unlike those detailed ones we have seen in the past), it’s still refreshing nonetheless and breathes life into the drama.
There’s something very magical about weddings. It doesn’t matter if they are a grand affair or a small, private ceremony- it is considered to be the most significant day in a woman’s life. And why shouldn’t it be? The bride gets centre-stage and everything revolves around her.
Here are some of the prettiest brides in our dramas in no particular order:
1.Neelum in Rubaru- I think Syra’s make-up and outfit was just adorable as Neelum. I didn’t like Shabbi’s outfit as much as I liked Neelum’s.
2.Surrayya in Dastaan- I loved Dastaan’s wedding sequence. Dastaan was a period drama and they paid special attention to the costumes especially in the potrayal of the wedding sequence. Saba Qamar has looked her prettiest in this role.
3.Falak in Shehr-e-Zaat- Mahira made a modern and stunning bride. Her make-up was light and set well against her subtle outfit. And Mikaal and her made a very good-looking couple.
4.Kashaf in Zindagi Gulzar Hai- Sanam Saeed looked phenomenal in her purple and red wedding outfit and jewellery. I think it was also due to the fact that she was shown as a plain-Jane prior to her wedding that her transformation on her wedding day seemed very special.
5.Aiza in Mirat-ul-Uroos. Amina Sheikh looked stunning as a bride. I personally find Amina’s sense of dressing very odd but in the wedding scene, she looked very pretty.
6.Mahira in Aseer Zadi- Ainy Jaffery looked gorgeous on her wedding day. But then again, Ainy Jaffery looked really good throughout the drama. Her outfit looked exquisite.
7.Rabia in Halki Si Khalish- Mehreen Raheel looked very glamourous as a bride. Mehreen is like a porcelain doll, she looks picture perfect. Too bad her acting abilities leave much to be desired.
I’m sure there are many more you can think of. Do share your favourites here.

Do you remember the 26th of June, 2010? When everyone was wanting to stay glued to the TV screens. It was when year’s biggest drama serial was telecast. Romance in the air, political tensions rising, women clad in colorful traditional Shalwar Kameez, Men in sherwanis & kolhapuri chapals made it a treat to watch indee. Yes, I’m sure, by now you have guessed that I am talking about Daastan. A brilliant piece of work & a great novel by Razia butt executed beautifully into a memorable tv drama. It took us back to the 1940s. A treat to watch ineed but do you remember any period drama after that? Well, No. Because there has been none. It is not an easy job to make a period drama. It takes guts to invest in the genre. But here is the good news you already are familiar with that none other than Hum Tv is again bringing a magnum opus of sorts to your TV screens. Yes, I am talking about Aangan. Now that it is taking forever to launch, we thought to make your wait worth it. Let’s get into the details of the show.
It is based on the famous novel of the same name written by Khadija Masroor. The screenplay has been penned by Mustafa Afridi of Sang e Mar Mar fame. It is to be directed by Udaari’s Mohammad Ehteshamuddin & will be produced by Momina Duraid. Well, there isn’t just one thing that makes it a much awaited show. Infact, there are lots. Its huge cast includes several senior actors to the superstars which include Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Ahsan Khan, Sonya Hussayn, Mawara Hocane, Hira Mani. Now that is seriously going to be something. I wonder if any powerhouse of talent is left to be part of the show. Another USP of the drama is Ahad-Sajal’s much awaited reunion. Sajal is going to be paired opposite Ahad & there are many twists yet to be revealed as all of the principle characters play a significant role. Previously, the drama was to be telecast in October but as of now there are no details of it arriving anytime soon. And we totally understand as it is not an easy task to make an epic.Till then, we can do with the pictures being shared by the cast members which only make us more excited.

Ghabrana Nahi Hai is an upcoming film featuring Saba Qamar, Zahid Ahmed and Syed Jibran in lead roles.
In an interview with Dawn Images, the details of the movie ‘Ghabrana Nahi Hai’ were revealed.
The story is about women empowerment. It involves a daughter whose family finds itself in a desperate situation. By the title, it seems like a joke but rather the words are used appropriately and in a serious manner.
The director, Saqib Khan shared details about the story and said, “As a logline [a small summary of the story], I can tell you this much that it revolves around a girl who wants to prove to her father that she’s as worthy as any son would have been and, in the course of doing so, the choices made by her trigger a series of unusual events, happenings and conflicts, leading to an almost absurd intertwining of three different layers of narratives with three different characters.”
Zahid Ahmed is playing the role of a cop and he talked about his character and said, “I think it’s a matter of coincidence that there are two mainstream films that have a cop [as a leading] character. If it does, on some level, do some good for the image of the police, make them more human once again, or make them relevant, then that’s [another] purpose [the role] could serve.”
“No, I’m not a method actor. I’m absolutely instinctive, and that’s how I’ve approached this character as well. And because it’s a cop character, and it’s very conventional, that’s why I have not approached it in a conventional way, or made stereotypical nuances for the character or the profession. I’ve approached him in a very human and individual way,” Zahid Ahmed added.
Are you looking forward to the release of Ghabrana Nahi Hai? Do share with us.

Love triangles have been the norm in Pakistani dramas for the longest time. Even if we take a look at some of the watched dramas in the past decade, love triangles have been part of the main storyline in some way or the other. The viewers were already sick and tired of watching such similar scenarios unfold on their television screens, the new trend of showing how helpless the men are and just how desperate the women are is making it even worse!
Men Are Not Held Accountable
Right now, there are so many dramas in which women want to buy men, blackmail them, intimidate them, and do whatever it takes to win them over. What makes this situation even worse is that all these men are married and want nothing to do with these women. Surely, there are such situations in real life too but the portrayal in these dramas shows men in such situations where the writers often justify their actions. We live in a society where men are already not held accountable for infidelity or making wrong decisions in general, the way women are. The burden of sustaining and maintaining a marriage most often falls on the woman, it is upsetting to watch dramas which reinforce this idea. While there is nothing wrong with expecting women to do whatever it takes to make a marriage work like it was shown in drama serial Durr-e-Shehwar. It is so wrong to show that men are helpless in these situations, they either go ahead and enter into a nikkah with these women or are unjust to their wives because they have no choice!
In drama serial Pyar Ke Sadqay, Shanzay was one such desperate woman who wanted to marry someone who was already married. Abdullah’s lack of interest in the proposal and his refusal was made quite clear but even then Shanzay’s suicide attempt led to Abdullah saying yes to the proposal. Although this marriage never happened, even then, this was the most unpleasant track of an otherwise likable drama in which the man was not held responsible for the decisions he took and Shanzay was the only one to be blamed.
The writers conveniently blame the women alone for these decisions and the men are shown in a situation that is out of their control. In drama serial Jalan although Asfandyar and Nisha are having an affair but when Nisha’s sister who is also Asfandyar’s wife finds out about it, she only slaps Nisha and does not hold her husband accountable. By showing that Nisha is the one who initiates the affair and asks Asfandyar to leave her sister, the writer has conveniently shown him as the bechara who was perhaps forced to have an affair!
Second Marriages Forced on Men
Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida has taken this trend to the next level! The drama is a copy of the Bollywood film Judaii. While the concept worked years ago and provided ‘entertainment’ to people, it also had a lesson in it. Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida has glorified the desperation of a woman to buy a married man. Those celebrities who had such an issue with ‘du takay ki aurat’ dialogue in Mere Pass Tum Ho are so quiet now that two women are using the man as a commodity. The scenes showing Shafaq’s height of desperation are similar to the ones we have seen in all these dramas. Shahaan is completely uninterested and rejects her so many times yet she remains as determined as ever. In this case, the wife is so desperate for money that she is the one forcing her husband to get married. The poor helpless husband will ultimately marry this desperate woman and it will be all Ulfat’s fault!
In another popular drama Tera Ghum Aur Hum recently a level-headed, loving and seemingly intelligent man goes ahead and enters into a nikkah with his wife’s cousin in order to ‘save her life’. This is another desperate woman who approaches him repeatedly even though he rejects her over and over again. Ultimately, in the most lame twist of events, he goes ahead and enters into a nikkah with her because he is scared that she might kill herself! It has all been presented in such a manner as if Ali had no choice and this was all Sara’s fault.
Our writers through such dramas are doing everything they can to reinforce the idea that when men make such decisions, it is the woman’s fault more than the man’s. All these pathetic scenes showing the desperation of women and helplessness of men are shown in such a romantic way as if the makers are glorifying such twisted love triangles. The men in these dramas are ‘fascinated’ by the fact that a woman was willing to take her life for them which is even more upsetting. The intimacy in such scenes is sickening.
Most of these men are simply fascinated by women who are willing to give up their lives for them. The writers are therefore not only justifying the wrong decisions taken by these men but also glorifying suicide attempts by women who fail to ‘convince’ these men otherwise. These dialogues suggest that an attempt to kill oneself is the best way to show someone just how much you love them. How can these writers even write something so callous and irresponsible which sends out the wrong message?
These trends in Pakistani dramas are getting worse with time. The viewers watch these dramas, enjoy seeing that the woman is being punished but no one questions why these men are not punished in the same way. This responsibility lies not just with the drama makers but also those people who are watching these dramas. It is time that educated and enlightened Pakistani actresses start rejecting roles that show women as desperate creatures and take the responsibility off of men’s shoulders. The male leads too should not take up such projects.
Zahid Ahmed said that he found Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida’s script ‘amusing’! Mansha Pasha promotes the same drama in the name of entertainment. Sonya Hussyn who calls herself a feminist was okay playing this character. Minal Khan laughed when she was asked about her character in Jalan and said that it was only a drama!
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is currently a popular series that has recently been released on Netflix. The web series is directed by renowned Bollywood film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ marks Sanjay’s first OTT project. The original Netflix series features a stellar cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, and others.
Well, the web series is available on Netflix; the series has already been watched by many Pakistani viewers, including popular Pakistani celebrities. The reason why Pakistani people are invested in the series is its historical background, which is rooted in Lahore, Pakistan.
Lately, many Pakistani celebrities are reacting to the web-series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Ahmed Ali Butt made fun of the series and titled it “Kheeramandi”. The social media influencer Ken Doll took a sarcastic jibe on “Heeramandi” through his hilarious video in which he’s speaking like the actors who worked in “Heeramandi”. The Pakistani actors including Mathira, Iqra Aziz and others also loved Ken Doll’s take on it. First see the two posts:
Pakistanis are dissatisfied with the storytelling and portrayal of Heeramandi, expressing disappointment with the makers for its over-the-top presentation. Netizens are particularly critical of the pure and difficult Urdu dialect employed in the web series, considering that ninety percent of the population in the depicted area, the famous red light district of old Lahore, predominantly spoke Punjabi. One social media user remarked, “I started watching the series but couldn’t continue for more than five minutes.” Another Pakistani commented, “No, we don’t speak like this in Pakistan.” Additionally, there is criticism towards the actors of Heeramandi who struggled with the pure Urdu dialect. A few said that the cinematography and picturization of the series are perfect but the story, portrayal and performances are weak. Read the comments of celebrities and public:
Khawaja Saleem claimed that Heeramandi girls took over the film industry. The Pakistani film industry was growing by leaps and bounds once. It was very successful and hundreds of films used to get released every year. The actors and the crew were flourishing and things were going in the right direction until they weren’t. There has been a lot of talks about what went wrong with the film industry and Khawaja Saleem has his opinion.
Khawaja Saleem is a veteran actor who worked in all mediums of entertainment and he has seen how this world has changed and evolved. He thinks that the change of talent is what caused the downfall of the industry in both films and theatre.
The actor spoke to Ambreen Fatima and asked to not edit his words out. He said that in place of genuine artists and actresses, Heeramandi girls took over the industry. They also brought their own customers with them. Producers stared dictating how they want a vulgar song or script in both films and theatre and this eventually destroyed everything.
Aditi Rao Hydari is a big name in the industry. She has been working in Bollywood for quite a few years now and she has a number of hits to her credit including Padmavat and Heeramandi. She was appreciated for playing Bibo Jaan in Netflix series Heeramandi. She got acclaim all over the world and people loved her in Pakistan as well. She has just entered a new phase in her life and a lot of best wishes are pouring in for the actress.
Aditi Rao Hyadri just tied the knot to actor Siddharth who has worked in many critically acclaimed films. His role in Rang De Basanti is still fresh in people’s memories. The couple had a traditional South Indian wedding and here are a few clicks:
Netflix’s latest series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is garnering praise due to its brilliant production, excellent performances and extravagant sets. The series was released on Netflix in the start of May and it has taken the internet by storm. Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed the grand series. The series features a stellar cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, and others.
Recently, the actors of Heeramandi are also garnering huge praise because of their brilliant performances. Taha Shah who played Tajdaar recently gave an interview where he talked about his comparison with Fawad Khan.
Talking about it, he said, “I don’t know about the looks but I think performance wise, they both are perfect, so it is an honour for me if they have compared me with Fawad Khan and Vicky Kaushal who are superb actors, and they are the leading actors, if they are comparing me with them, what else do you need man, if they see romance of Shahrukh Khan in my eyes, then it is a success and Vicky is my brother, we have worked together”. Here is the link to the video:
Fans praised Taha Shah’s phenomenal acting as Tajdaar in Heeramandi. His pairing with Sharmeen Saigal was loved by the fans.
Another film we are going to watch this year is Heer Maan Ja. Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan are again ready to hit the silver screens as a lead pair and this time the film is Heer Maan Ja. Hareem Farooq was wearing a casual black ensemble with a full glam look as she showed up at the Heer Maan Ja wrap up party. Many celebrities showed up at the party and t was an all-out filmy affair with Sanam Baloch, Sanam Saeed, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Javeria and Saud, Sunita Marshal, Hassan Ahmed, Nadia Hussain and many other making their presence known at the party.
Hareem looked in a quirky mood as she clicked pictures with co-stars and friends. Heer Maan Ja is aiming for an Eid ul Adha release. Check out the pictures f celebs showing up at the party:
Heer Maan Ja is another movie that is coming out soon. We will watch it on Eid ul Adha and it hs Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan as the lead characters. From the teaser posters, we can be sure that the film will have a lot of fun and comedy. The team is all set to start promotions and the leads were seen walking at the Hum Showcase.
Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman both were wearing printed black and white outfits and walked the ramp with full confidence and style. Here are pictures of the two from their walk:
Heer Maan Ja – Movie Review – is it worth watching? There are very few films which hit the right note in every aspect but at the end of the day, viewers expect to be entertained more than anything else. Heer Maan Ja has its high and low points but the good news is that it entertains and even though it is essentially a comic film but the serious elements of the film have been gelled in beautifully with the comic ones. While some of the comic dialogues fall flat, others are enjoyable. This film is extremely well directed especially because the director Azfar Jafri does not always play it safe. The script is typical in many ways, some of the scenes too are not entirely new but even then the director of photography and the actors make it work. Heer Maan Jaa will remind you of the romantic Bollywood films of the 80s but with spectacular visuals.

Emotions and Comedy – An Unusual Combination
Heer Maan Ja is a decent mix of emotional drama and comedy. The beautiful visuals, perfect makeovers and beautiful cinematography make this film a visual delight. This film will make you laugh and it will make you cry at the same time but there are also times when the dialogues are not very impressive. The characters however have a history, a present and more importantly a personality. There are times when you feel that Heer (Hareem Farooq) is too dressed up considering the circumstances she is in but Hareem Farooq looks stunning in every single shot and even makes the most unconvincing parts of the film a treat to watch. Heer Maan Ja has all the ingredients of a commercial film but Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq’s on-screen chemistry has not been utilized to the maximum. Ali Rehman Khan’s comic timing is perfect in the film, he looks handsome and sleek in every single scene but he is not very convincing as the love-stricken hero who is willing to do whatever it takes to win over the love of his life. It more often looks like something he is doing out of duty and guilt than love.
Heer Maan Ja promised to be a romantic comedy and it delivers just that even though the romance bit especially from the hero’s side doesn’t seem genuine enough most of the times. Mojiz Hassan has also played his role well, even though his comic lines at times are not funny at all but he has done complete justice to his role. Shamayale Khattak’s role is relatively less important but he has been given plenty of screen time. He doesn’t add much to the plot but he definitely delivers in the acting department.
The Makeovers, Characters and Performances
Another good thing about Heer Maan Ja is that the characters are not caricatures and the fact that the actors have played their roles so well adds more life to them. Heer Maan Ja also has supporting characters who have a definite screen presence. Faizan Shaikh shows his versatility in the film in different ways. He plays a negative role superbly right from the get-go. One thing is for sure when it comes to visuals IRK Films simply doesn’t compromise! Heer and Kabeer are dressed to impress throughout, they go through hell but they look perfect the whole time and even though there were instances when Hareem Farooq could easily have done without the accessories, these beautiful people do look great on the big screen. The styling and dresses are gorgeous throughout and the backgrounds are carefully designed too. Aamina Sheikh makes her presence felt even though she has a guest appearance in the film. Her character and her outlook is definitely likable and noticeable. Personally, I felt that Hareem Farooq completely stole the show by giving a brilliant performance throughout.
The Songs and The Choreography
Ali Rehman Khan, Hareem Farooq and Faizan Shaikh show that they are few of those Pakistani celebrities who can actually dance. Ali Rehman Khan and Faizan Shaikh’s dance moves were full of energy and well choreographed. Heer Maan Jaa only has 4 songs, one of which comes at the very end. While these songs don’t blow you away, they are decent enough and they are visually pleasing in particular. The background score has been used very wisely in the film which adds more life to the scenes.
Final Remarks
Heer Maan Ja is a visual treat, a film which should be watched on the big screen. The story is simple but it celebrates friendship and commitment (at times more than love). The comic element of the film is not completely on point but it definitely keeps you entertained for the most part. Hareem Farooq is the main attraction of Heer Maan Ja, she looks spectacular throughout and her acting is remarkable. The editing and the overall content of the film could have been more crisp. Watching Kabeer give up on his career completely was the most disappointing element of the story. I was hoping, the film would end with him giving another phenomenal presentation but teaching his colleague a lesson or two in a more subtle manner. Heer Maan Ja provides decent entertainment if you’re looking for a simple Pakistani film to watch on Eid with your family.

After that ministry, he became more harsh and has started fighting in the house.
Yesterday, he fought with the contestsnt Humaira, he said to her, “get out from here you are not worthy to be called a woman – Aurat Kehlaney key qabil nhi ho tum”. He said it twice. Here is the Ary Digital Tamasha’s link.
