Throughout the world entertainment channels attract majority of viewership but the situation is somewhat different in our country. There are more news channels than entertainment channels, while entertainment channels are mainly watched by ladies. The male section of society is normally more tilted towards news and sports channels. But the ongoing political situation has greatly attracted the attention of female section as well, who are now preferring to watch the live coverage of long marches and dharna happening in Red Zone, Islamabad instead of a recorded drama in prime time.

As per medialogic the comapny which manages the TRP, viewership of news channels has increased by 60% while 20% decreased for entertainment channels since 14th August. The increase in viewership has also benefitted the news channels in the form of increased revenue. Means television audience are preferring news channels as a source of entertainment over the specialized entertainment channels. See the actual report by BBC Urdu

Nadia Khan is a popular Pakistani television celebrity known for her hit PTV dramas and morning shows. Lately, Nadia Khan has been hosting Rise and Shine and Kya Drama Hai. She often makes headlines for her show Kya Drama Hai due to her outspoken opinions on dramas.

Talking about it, Nadia Khan said, “For me, it’s not a drama; it’s a film. I am really enjoying watching this drama. It started beautifully, and all three actors are so good, but I can’t take my eyes off Zaviyar Nauman. Surprisingly, it’s true—he is looking phenomenal. I watched the drama three times. His expressions and the way he delivered his dialogues under the influence of alcohol were amazing. Some dramas are simply amazing; you watch them just to be entertained.”

Nadia Khan usually ignites backlash for her criticism of actors, but this time she is facing trolling for praising Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz’s portrayal of Bashah. One Twitter user wrote, “I don’t know why people are going crazy over this drama, typical indian copy, cheap and filthy romanticization. Stop watching Pakistani dramas for your own good Sorry not sorry”. Another twitter user said, “Pakistani media has no bravery to advocate for its own culture and ‘sharm o Haya’ in dramas. As a result of their desire to copy others and perhaps not even realising that youngsters are influenced by these kind of dramas”. In her previous dramas, Sajal Aly never wore anything which went against her character’s arc like Yaqeen Ka Safar. Nida Yasir is a famous Pakistani television host with a strong fan following of 2.6 million followers on Instagram. She has been hosting her popular morning show, Good Morning Pakistan, for around 19 years. Her show is famously known for discussions, drama promotions, and celebrity interviews. The show also frequently grabs headlines for its out-of-the-box, unique, and unexpected stunts, such as pairing exes together or bringing up controversial topics with senior actresses that spark backlash.

During Ramzan, Nida Yasir invited Faryal Gohar and Jamal Shah together and engaged them in lovey-dovey discussions. A few months later, she invited Faryal Gohar again, during which she accused Jamal Shah of domestic violence.

Jamal Shah also said, “The dilemma is that the same channel invited me and Faryal a few days ago. I was called, and later I found out that Faryal was also there. Although I continued with the show, she was very lovey-dovey and positive from all aspects, and there were no complaints against me. Then, all of a sudden, this happened. The channel also offered us a biopic, saying that they would film Faryal and me. I denied the offer. Now, I think this interview was planted because they want to make a serial about us. These accusations may be part of a script because they want to make a drama about us, which I do not want to be a part of.”

Nida Yasir’s hypocritical behavior toward Jamal Shah has sparked huge backlash, with fans calling for a permanent ban on Good Morning Pakistan. Some viewers have criticized Nida Yasir and called the program a source of controversy, arguing that the show has repeatedly sparked controversies and degraded several artists over the years. Fans are also questioning the intentions of the channel and the host. Some viewers have criticized Nida Yasir for being overly focused on TRPs, while others felt that her questions to Faryal Gohar appeared scripted, as though she was trying to elicit specific answers. Many are tagging Nida Yasir and saying that she should resign, claiming that their patience has reached its limit and that they can no longer tolerate what they describe as her repeated mistakes. Khushhal Khan is a new Pakistani actor who has done many dramas since he has joined the showbiz. He has been getting good roles for Prime Time dramas of all the good channels. His recent drama is Mushkil for Geo TV with Saboor Aly, the cast also includes Zainab Shabir & Humayun Ashraf.

Well, in the currently airing drama Mushkil, well-known actor Humayun’s absence from the poster and Khushhal Khan’s picture as main lead actor arose a lot of questions and fans started debating about the new actor’s abilities. Humayun’s fans and a few social media portals said that Khushal Khan is the byproduct of “Nepotism” and that’s the reason why he’s getting good roles.

The Facebook page ‘Senseit’ posts it as “Khushal Khan Khattak is getting work because he’s Ahsan Khan’s nephew, and Humayun Ashraf, despite all his talent, looks and success of previous drama Rang Mahal, got only a supporting role”. A part from this, on Khushhal Khan’s own Instagram page, fans said that he is expression less actor. One fan urged the production team to change the hero of the drama in time, otherwise they will lose the right to complain about the drama getting flop. They also said that Khushhal Khan’s expressions and acting skills are poor and they have to bear his acting. One fan said Khushhal & Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz are getting one after another drama as main leads, which is the proof that they are enjoying the privilege of being the Nepotism byproducts. Here are all the comments related to this debate from multiple pages.

A few fans also asked, ‘if Khushal Khan is really Ahsan Khan’s nephew or not?’ Well, according to a video on Facebook, fans and people have speculated that Khushhal and Ahsan are related, however, the two actors have not yet talked about it other than this video.

Not even mentioning that they’ll miss their favorite characters, the public has been outright lashing at the makers of Khaas for having killed Faakhir and leaving Saba sad etched in their minds forever.

Ary Digital’s new exciting and thrilling reality show Tamasha has become the new talk of the town. The engaging reality show is being supervised and hosted by Adnan Siddiqui, the format of the show is based on the format of international reality shows Big Brother & Big Boss. The main theme of the show Big Brother & Big Boss remains to be based on ‘conflict & fights’ and the same trend is being followed by the show Tamasha.

Well, in first episode Nigga Ji had a fight with Amna Malick and he said, “Mahira & other big actresses never dared to talk like this me and this girl Amna is just nothing in front of them”. As per viewers, on multiple times, he didn’t act like a contestant but acted like a personality. Here are clips.

Fans didn’t like it and said that he should forget who he is and behave like a contestant of the show, they said that he always brags about what he has done. One fan said, “Nigha jee You are all equal in this show, no one is big or small, so you cannot degrade anyone. You shouldn’t have talked about Amna like that. Forget what Nigha jee Tamasha is or was outside the house at that time. Now you are just a member of Tamasha Ghar. Where you will all watch together and we will watch”. Here are comments.

Hania Aamir’s recent drama Mujhe Pyaar Hua is getting a notable popularity and love by the fans because of its storyline and Wahaj Ali and Hania Aamir’s track. The drama has been directed by ace director Badar Mehmood and it has been written by Sidra Seher Imran. It’s a Big Bang Productions presentation.

In the recent episodes, the fans are getting irritated by the portrayal of a few disturbing characters. Well, mostly viewers agreed that Maheer and her mother’s characters are irksome and they have now become irritating for viewers.

Tere Bin is a Geo Television’s popular serial which is breaking the records of popularity. The drama has surely grabbed the global audiences and it is being watched in more than ten countries. The chemistry between Meerab and Murtasim is being loved by the fans. Fans are admiring and fantasizing about the love track of Meerab and Murtasim but according to the fans, the character of Meerab is the biggest hurdle in their love story, they say Meerab is extremely stubborn. Fans, so far, are loving the impeccable performances of Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi.

In recent episodes, Meerab is invested in settling her sister in law’s love affair. Meerab didn’t know that her sister in law’s love interest (Anas) is basically the rival of Murtasim. It seems that Meerab will invite a trouble after getting into Mariyam’s affair and this thing is bothering Tere Bin fans. Fans are saying that Meerab’s character is poorly written, the writer hates her, in the drama Meerab is shown as her own enemy who doesn’t think logically but just wishes to oppose her loving husband who goes out of the way, just to please his wife and to get her attention. Fans are saying that Meerab will be responsible for her wrongdoings and will rightly be punished. Fans are debating on Meerab’s stubborn attitude and are saying that they have no sympathies left for Meerab. Meerab’s loyal fans, however, wants her to behave sanely. Yumna Zaidi’s fans are not happy with the writer in showing her as most stubborn character. Tere Bin fans also want to see Meerab and Murtasim more than Maryam and other characters. Begum Jaan starring Vidya Balan, its trailer has received a lot of praises. People have a lot of expectations from the Srijit Mukherji film.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BRX9QJNBs3_/?taken-by=balanvidya&hl=en

The Indian adaptation of the Mukherji’s Bengali film Rajkahini, shows the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition. According to Times of India, the film will not be released in Pakistan because it highlights the country in a negative light.

The Producer of the film, Mahesh Bhatt has even reportedly written to the Pakistan government to allow the release of the film. However, he has yet to receive their reply and approval.

It definitely seems like that Begun Jaan just like Mahira Khan’s Raees won’t be making it to Pakistani cinemas and others like Neerja and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB2. It is also being said that the tense relationships between Indi and Pakistan is also a reason for the film not getting its official April 14 release in Pakistan.
