In conversation with Images , Uzair revealed, “My first album Na Bhulana is a journey of love. It’s actually a story that tells you what love is and how it takes charge in your life; what good it brings to your life and what it takes away when it’s gone.”

“It’s been almost ten years that I have been doing music and this is my first album, so I feel like it was a long time coming and now that it’s here I’m really excited, And I really hope that people will listen to it. I hope that my fans, who’ve been listening to me since I was 14, really connect with the album. I mean, if nothing else, they will hear it out once… at least once, and that’s all that matters. I just want my music to be heard and that’s it,” said the singer.

When asked what compelled him to release his debut album now, the singer replied, “The only reason people aren’t doing albums is that you don’t get returns from it but I thought that a musician can’t feel satisfaction like this, until one can feel complete and good about the fact that ‘Oh, I have something in a collective form, a music album’. I needed this for myself.”

Uzair may have started this project on his own but he was quick to gain support! He reveals, “I didn’t have any sponsors on board but then my friend at the New Yorker’s Pizza have jumped on board as partners. They’re helping us put this album out and put on a really good show in Islamabad an album launch show on December 28.”

Call this an accident or something, but yeah it was very unplanned and last minute. And now I’m doing my first TV play, halfway shooting it and it’s been a fun learning experience.”

He’s also signed his first film in which he will be play the lead, so he sees his TV drama as a warm-up “right in time for my debut film as a leading character.”

Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed makes the most balmy couple of our media industry.

Urwa Hocane gained a lot of commercial and critical acclamation from her role in movie Punjab Nahi Jaungi.

Ustad Fateh Ali Khan’s death is indeed a great loss for the music fraternity but a recent gathering turned out to be heartwarming as it shows the music community remembers him and his contribution to classical music.

Karachi Arts Council, Tehzeeb Foundation of Pakistan, MoUSICi and the All Pakistan Music conference arranged the event.

Rustam Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan’s son who himself is a famous classicical singer was also present there.

Rustam talked about how even during the last days of his illness, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan still had a connection with classical music:

“When we were in the hospital, he would ask me to sing and then would hum along with me, even though he was suffering from a severe lung disease.”

The evening also featured a video presentation which shown an old television interview of Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and his performance which kept the audience interested and emotional.

After people and the audience paid him their regards, there was a live musical performances session by Rustam Fateh Ali Khan, Imran Ilyas Khan and tabla maestro Ustad Bashir Khan.

We hope that classical music is kept alive here and doesn’t die out eventually with time.

Ustaad Naseerudin Saami’ performed Mundari in Coke Studio season 4. .

“I will be using this opportunity to present Khayal Gayaki as intended and presented by my ancestors,” Saami told The Express Tribune in a telephonic conversation. “The producer has shown interest in our most ancient works and I am very happy to render it for him.”

“Khayal is the heritage of ancient Muslims which has come to us via Hazrat Amir Khusrau. We have been performing it for the past 700-800 years and are trying our best that the essence of this craft, the beauty of Khayal and seamlessness of its rendition is maintained to the core – and so far we have been appreciated for that.”

While talking about the nature of the collaboration, Saami said:

“If fusion music is what is coming to your mind then there’s nothing like it. I’ll only present Khayal Gayaki like it should be presented.”

Usman Zia is an established theatre actor. He has also worked in films like Zinda Bhaag which released in 2013. He has studied the craft of acting in National School of Drama in Delhi. Usman has completed multiple short courses in India. He has also worked in India in multiple cities. He is working with Ajoka Theatre now and also teaches a course at Kinnaird College.

Usman Zia appeared on the Youtube channel of Fuchsia Magazine, he revealed that he has met Naseer-ud-Din Shah when he went to NSD but got a chance to work with him during the shoot of Zinda Bhaag. He revealed how Naseer Sahab saw the conditions of the studio and said it would take ages to improve it but Usman has faith that things would get better. He revealed it was a great experience for him to work with Naseer-ud-Din Shah.

Usman told the story how he was cast for the role of Professor Ajeet in Jo Bichar Gaye. The character was initially offered to Ehteshamuddin who could not do it due to time commitment, the role was then again offered to someone else who was not available. Then Usman was approached for the role and like they say, the rest is history.

“We did not have any children for 12 years and those 12 years were very beneficial for us to understand each other. We are both difficult people to understand so it is good that we got that time. We have fought a lot too, we argued a lot but who doesn’t fight? Our mothers played a major role in making sure that our relationship lasted. I am very close to Samina’s mother and Samina is very close to my mother. “

Usman Peerzada also talked about his childhood. He said,

“I grew up in the world of theater. As a historical fact I would like to tell you that Sufi Tabbsaum was a very close friend of my father. My father was the one who asked him to write nonsensical poems for kids. Faiz Ahmed Faiz used to visit our house very often.”

Talking about the rule he followed in acting, he said,

“Acting is very easy, doing no acting is difficult. In my opinion acting started when dialogue ends. Anyone can learn a dialogues but natural acting is what this field is all about.”

Talking about different fields he said,

“Film is a very technical medium. The true area of the actor if theater. Film is a technician’s place. Radio becomes a tougher job for the actor because all the burden is on his shoulders.”

Usman Peerzada also had something to say about those actors who are only in the field because of their contacts. He said,

“Not everyone is born to be an actor, either you have it in you or you don’t. Some people nowadays are bent on acting only to torture the viewers.”

We all are facing the same situation, I don’t know how would I survive or how would people survive because we are paying more taxes than bills, the salaries of people are the same. The climate changes are horrible, now we are experiencing hot weather. I can’t turn on AC all the time but when the temperature becomes too hot then we have to turn it on. In the interview, Usman Mukhtar shared, “Sabaat was a roller coaster ride inside it was filled with emotions but outside for me, it was filled with lots of emotions because people weren’t happy with the fact that I was not entering then when I entered people had an issue with the therapist-patient thing then when it got addressed people weren’t happy with the kind of role it was, so it was a roller coaster ride and it ended on a positive note.”

He further talked about whether he will take such role again or not and shared the reason, “I won’t ever take such a role because my mental health is also very important. We make somebody feel very special in one second and then we make them feel useless in another second. I have gone through a lot mentally during this entire period of Sabaat and just for that reason I wouldn’t want to do this again.”

Talking about the character of Dr Haris, he shared, “I never felt like it was a pathetic role rather it was a different role but I feel like we don’t like experimenting. I was offered similar roles to Altamash but I didn’t want to do that. I want to experiment and I want to do different type of characters so that’s why I did Dr Haris and also because of the positive message that it had.” 

“But somehow our audiences take it too personally. After Anaa people had built up their expectations and I feel like they don’t wait. We love to create hot gossips which people love to share so in this way we don’t have patience. If you know about the ending of drama then why are you watching it? You learn about the characters and the story which unfolds with each episode but I feel like people assumed a lot and at many points, they were proved wrong,” he added.

Usman Mukhtar talked about the chemistry between Haris and Miraal and said, “Fans couldn’t see the chemistry between Miraal and Haris because it was not your typical love story. It was a very different kind of story, a different kind of dynamic but because we are kind of used to watching the typical rom-com with your protagonist so its an offbeat thing and that’s why audiences didn’t enjoy.”
