Veteran Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor, passed away today after battling cancer for two years. The actor had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning complaining of difficulty in breathing. Rishi Kapoor, known as Bollywood’s original chocolate hero was 67 years of age.
The film fraternity and Kapoor’s fans have been mourning the loss of the veteran actor ever since the news became viral. Each and everyone is remembering Kapoor with good memories, sharing how wonderful a human being he was in his conduct and otherwise.
A video of Rishi Kapoor from the hospital has gone viral as it sees the actor on his last day, still smiling and cheerful as his usual persona.
The video sees the veteran actor smiling while he listens to a song from a hospital staff member and blesses him. However, even from the video it was evident that Rishi Kapoor, wasn’t in the best of his health and has some complications with his health. Yet his cheerful persona made him stay strong and he kept his doctors entertained till the end, as claimed by his family in their official statement.

Riddhima watched her father’s funeral on a video call. Alia Bhatt was live streaming the funeral to her.
Rishi was cremated at the Chandanwadi crematorium in South Mumbai.
Rishi Kapoor is a multitalented superstar of Bollywood and he has proved himself by working in 92 romance films during 1973-2000. Some of his notable films during this period were Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Karz, and Chandni.

“Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukaemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last.
He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him.
He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears.
In this hour of personal loss, we also recognise the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force.

For a fasting person two main meals of Suhoor and Iftar that are served during the month of Ramadan are of utmost importance. Suhoor Meals
The best way to approach Ramadan is by dividing into three Ashra; the 10 day period because it makes the meal planning and preparations easier. It also gives you a perspective on how and where to start off. It is always a good idea to keep your Suhoor light but still fulfilling and satisfactory to load up the body with enough nutrients so that the meal provides enough energy to last throughout the day and keeps you going.
Option 1:
Suhoor options for the first Ashra should include moderate carbohydrates, good fats and lots of liquids. The easiest and delicious option to kickstart the Suhoor is stuffed whole wheat parathas with semi sweet curd and glass of any fresh juice. The stuffing can be anything like mashed mixed vegetables or shredded chicken. If sticking to absolute basics is the priority then stuffed potato paratha is also a good option because it is filled with carbs to give you enough energy and keep you full for longer hours.
For the second Ashra when the body is quite adjusted to the routine of fasting and is on a timetable its good to keep Suhoor as an essential meal. Skipping Suhoor at this stage would not only cause discomfort but will also make you binge at Iftar which is never a good option. Therefore Suhoor can include pita bread with kabobs and hummus. It’s not only lighter on the stomach but is actually a very tasty option and will surely break the monotony of parathas and omelettes.
Now comes the third Ashra where devotees are well into the routine. Tummies are no more upset. Alarms are no more to be set. Everything seems in its place and there is a new energy about. Its the last ten days of spiritual high and focus is always on making the most of it, therefore the Suhoor options should be easy and less complicated as there is a new level of focus on the prayers and worshipping during the last days. One experiment with leftover pakoras and make a simple curry to pair with paratha or boiled chicken chunks to make chicken roti rolls with mayo and ketchup. The best part about this option is that it can be pre-prepared and not a lot of energy goes into planning what should be consumed during Suhoor.
Option 2:
Another trusty option is lentils and beans. They can be paired with roti or rice to make a hearty meal. If you are watching your weight and still want a good source of protein to begin the fast with, some toasted bread cubes along with dal tadka is a winner combo. To add more taste, a piece of pickle can also be added to the bowl to make it more scrumptious. For beverages, lassi or a simple glass of milk is also a good idea because it will keep you fuller for longer hours.
Usually people include dairy in their Suhoor which is in the form of omelette or fried eggs with bread or paratha or if nothing then sweet yogurt lassi with paratha. While it’s a good fulfilling option it gets boring with time. Therefore the newness can be brought in the form of milkshakes because it will meet the dairy needs of the body and will also add up new tastes. Leftover fruit chaat from Iftaar can be blended with ice and milk to make a fulfilling drink which can be paired easily with a simple egg sandwich.
Option 3:
For the weight watchers and those who tend to keep it very light and healthy during the Suhoor, the best option is a fulfilling bowl of oatmeal. There is so much that can be done with oats because they can be used in so many different ways. The easiest is to make them with milk and water, load up a lot of berries and dry fruits and sweetened with honey, this makes a nutritious bowl of goodness which is not only healthy but very fulfilling. It can be paired with a glass of fresh juice or infused water. It’s easier to consume at late hours and is a treat to the stomach.
Granola bowls with fresh berries and a bowl of sweet curd is also a good option for those who love to keep it simple. Rice bowls be it daal chawal or simple masala or mix vegetable rice is also a good option. Some people enjoy a good cup of tea with paratha but to keep it fulfilling and healthy. The more healthier option is to sweeten the tea with jaggery or substitute white sugar with brown sugars.
Iftar Meals
Iftar meals are usually the most looked forward to throughout the Holy month of Ramadan because everyone is eager to break the fast. At this time so much is happening around the house with elders preparing for the prayers, children getting excited while still helping to set the table and ladies of the house usually making sure the Iftar spread is not only varied but set on time with a lot of options for everyone to devour. Iftar meals should be prepared in such a way which should be both healthy and delicious. It should include all the items from different categories to make the meal wholesome as well as fulfilling.
Option 1:
In Pakistani households, no Iftar is complete without fried food items. The best is to take it slow and prepare one item a day which allows you to stay on track and also keep in check. Usually during the first Ashra with high morale and full pantries, it is very easy to get carried away. Everyone looks forward to a variety of items but the best thing to do is not make everything at once. Pakoras being Iftar essential in many households can be tweaked a bit to make them healthy
Iftar essentials are usually fried items but since the idea is to turn them into healthier options, it is better to introduce new ingredients and ditch the traditional and typical ones. For pakoras, it is always a good idea to mix semolina with the usual gram flour batter. Semolina adds crispness as well as the health factor. Deep frying should be substituted with baking or shallow frying. In the first ashra it’s the traditional comfort foods and snacks that we look for in the Iftar menu so it’s a good idea to change ingredients rather than dishes.
Iftar meal is usually incomplete with drinks of any sort. It is always a great idea to resort to fresh juices or milkshakes in order to energize and rejuvenate the body. In most parts of the world, Ramadan comes in Summers, therefore having drinks a part of Iftar meal becomes a must. When it comes to juices and milkshakes, there are numerous options, simpler ones being lemonades or making milkshakes out of the seasonal fruits that are readily and easily available. Sweet coloured drinks can be altered with fresh strawberry, blueberry and date milkshakes where honey or jaggery can be added for sweetness and for an extra punch of healthiness, low fat yogurt can also be blended in the drinks for the pro-biotics.
Option 2:
Second Ashra of Ramadan is usually when the new recipes are kept aside and the routine demands easiness and light stomach friendly meals. It’s the time when energies reach a plateau and heavy motivation is required in the kitchen, therefore it is a good time to introduce frozen pre-prepared items like kebabs and pre- marinated chicken/paneer tikka. They are easy to make and do not require much effort because the effort has gone into making them before storing. The kids and young devotees’ favorite french fries can be replaced with vegetable crispies which sounds and looks fancy but is just vegetables cut in julienne and baked to crisp for 15 minutes.
Pita bread pizza with chicken chunks and mozzarella and olives is also a fulfilling easy option. Basically anything that is fulfilling and easy to assemble is a good option. For drinks it’s a good time to include fruit infused water. Fruit salads or platters usually made out of seasonal fruits like passion fruit, water melon, sweet melon and papaya can decorate your table as well as curb the hunger in no time.
Option 3:
The last Ashra of Ramadan is the one where you want to spend less time in the kitchen and more time on the prayer mat. The Holy month nearing its end brings along the sense of being left out on the essence of the month and any extra time spent elsewhere seems too much. It’s better to include a fulfilling heavier dish to the table with sides like fruit salads and chutneys. Around this time, fried items have lost their charm and snacks seem monotonous. A soup of some kind is definitely a better and healthier option. The regular chicken corn soup, hot and sour soup or even homely lentil soup is quick to make and is usually everyone’s favorite.
Whole chicken baked or slowly cooked in an oven or airfryer is also a very fulfilling dish. It can be achieved by marinating it with garlic and tikka masala along with lemon and at midday chuck it in the oven for an hour. Last few days of Ramzan require both creativity and energy to bring the ideas to life. It’s better to add easy one pot meals like soups, fruit salads, sandwiches and any easy main course item.
For drinks almond milk sweetened with jaggery is a good option. Custard milk drink with chunks of fruits and chia seeds is a good alternative to traditional falooda. Sabudana kheer and sooji halwa sweetened with brown sugar is also a win-win dish for Iftar. Anything that is easier to prepare, looks good and tastes fresh is a winner in the last few days.
Dinner Meals
Although a lot of thought goes into bringing Iftar spread together, there are also a lot of households who do not believe in putting much effort into Iftar and they usually prefer heavier and fulfilling dinner, directly after lighter Iftar and prayers. In such households, Iftar is less hectic and doesn’t demand a lot of time. It is usually one heavy meal of the day and it suits the routine of those who follow this pattern. It is like any regular dinner that you have throughout the year, which is suitable and convenient in this regard that the homecooks do not have to plan much or push themselves to do something out of the box every single day of Ramadan. Then there are also such households who do prepare dinner meals even after they have had a wholesome Iftar, in such families, this meal is not too heavy and is usually on the lighter side.
Option 1:
For those families who skip the heavier Iftar and go directly for dinner, any sort of rice dish is the best option. Pulao or chicken fried rice is easy to make and is healthier in nature. In fried rice, a lot of vegetables can be chopped and added which are easily eaten by the young members of the family. With rice dishes, condiments like chutneys, raitas and salads also work. If one wants to broaden the dinner spread, adding in grilled chicken tikkas or kababs is also easy and achievable.
Option 2:

“I just saw this viral video of a dog. He was sleeping next to a building and someone was filming him from above. Then, a security truck stopped by, and guards stepped out, shot the dog near the hind legs and left,” said the Alif Allah aur Insaan actress.
Ushna Shah added how the dog had died a painful death while nobody tried to help him.
“Animals only attack for survival, territories or self defense. They don’t attack unprovoked. Only humans do that,” said Ushna clarifying that if the dog had caused someone trouble, it was troubled itself first.
Ushna also added that perhaps this attitude that humans showed to animals was one of the causes of the calamity that has surrounded the world today in the face of COVID19.
“Everywhere across the country, people are torturing and killing animals heartlessly. There is also a misconception that the coronavirus has spread because of them. But animals were abused irrespective of the virus as well,” she added.
Stating further, Ushna also added that there had been a number of other ways the animal could have been handled, “He could have even been euthanized, spayed, neutered or just been given to an animal organisation. But they chose a single bullet to end it all,” she said.
Ushna ended her thought provoking video with a instigating question, “if this is humanity, then I am really ashamed of being a human.”

Oh wow, this was one intense episode of Ye Dil Mera. Before getting into the rest of the details, I will straight away say that Mira Sethi should be super proud of herself for giving this level of performance. Every step of the way, she made me feel Nilofer’s pain & the mental & emotional turmoil that she was going through. Mira Sethi has appeared in a lot of dramas but this is the first time she has actually wowed with her performance. The director usually is given credit for the flaws but this time around, he definitely deserves a credit for extracting this sort of acting from Mira Sethi.
Nargis Bua’s One Sided Approach & Nilofer’s Turmoil
The viewers now got an insight into the past through Nargis Bua’s perspective. She seemed eager to get in touch with Meer Farooq because she wants to save Ana. There was an ambiguity regarding her intentions, however the preview of the next episode proved that despite knowing the truth, she still thinks Amaan is the culprit who is going to harm Ana. Maybe all these years, Nargis Bua has brainfed herself to see the goodness in Meer Farooq, especially after seeing what a doting father he turned out to be after Nilo’s death, this is why she thinks Ana is better off staying with her criminal father than Amaan, who she assumes is capable of hurting Ana. Nargis Bua will get her answers later as well obviously but right now, she should be thinking more rationally. It can also be considered that Ana’s call has forced Nargis Bua to see one side of the picture & because she could hear how upset Ana was at Amaan, she thinks he has hurt her or is going to do so.
Nargis Bua reminisced about the day when they found out about Humera’s car accident & the events that followed. Nargis Bua firsthand saw the toll it took on Nilofer. She was trying to figure things out on how she should approach her husband Meer Farooq after all that she heard from Humera & before she could do anything to help her friend, she got the news of her demise. The way both Nargis Bua & Nilofer broke down after getting to know about Humera’s accident was so heart wrenching. The emotions they portrayed were realistic & heartfelt. Nilofer already started feeling alone, she had no one to turn to – the husband she trusted was not trustworthy & the only friend she had was now no more.
Meer Farooq’s aloofness was already something that Nilofer couldn’t wrap her head around. I really want to know what was the paper that she saw in one of the pockets of Meer Farooq’s jacket though? Anyways, Nilofer ended up hearing the discussion that happened between Ali Baksh & Meer Farooq & she knew that was it. It didn’t take her much longer to even doubt all of what she was hearing couldn’t be true because Humera had already told Nilofer about the harm that Meer Farooq could cause to her family & now that had finally happened. I definitely liked seeing Nilofer’s perspective & how she mourned the loss of her friend as well as dealing with the pain of her husband’s disloyalty.
So, Meer Farooq & Nilofer ended up confronting each other. The psychopath that Meer Farooq is, the easiest thing he could do was to assault his wife trying to suppress her emotions by intimidating her. Nilofer did seem adamant to not stay quiet. She even wrote a letter to her father, but it’s yet to be seen whether Nargis Bua posted it or not. Maybe after Meer Farooq killed Nilofer, he got rid of all the evidence that could lead anyone to him & that letter being one of the things that were destroyed.
Ana & Amaan
Coming to Ana & Amaan, finally Ana’s dreams are back. The memories got triggered after she visited her childhood cottage in Daryabagh. The dream this time was more clear & she could figure out the entire scene that was happening; a woman packing her bags & running away with her child, going to the train station trying to escape but in the end getting shot. When Amaan came to calm Ana down, she was immediately reminded of the pep-talks Meer Farooq used to give to her whenever she spoke about her dreams & told him what she saw. At that particular moment, Ana could actually connect the dots & could feel that the dream that she is seeing is not a vision from the future but rather her past that she has experienced, therefore she immediately stopped herself from dwelling into the details because it was going to confirm her worst fears.
Ana relying on Allah & asking Him for guidance was one of the best moments of this episode. She has been trying to find the answers all her life & now when she was finally starting to see some sort of clarity, she decided to seek Allah’s help to ask for more clarity. Amaan’s feelings were conveyed brilliantly as well. He hates seeing his wife, the love of his life in pain & he knows that everything that he has said has put Ana in an awkward position but still he feels for her because he knows the truth & is very much aware of how Meer Farooq took away Ana’s mother from her too.
Intense Episode
This was one intense episode of Ye Dil Mera. As I have said it earlier, I will say it again, Mira Sethi should take a bow for this performance. Her body language, dialogue delivery, all the expressions showcasing Nilofer’s emotions were on-point. Adnan Siddique had very limited scenes but even in those, he was right in his element & delivered a brilliant performance. Sajal Aly & Ahad Raza Mir have done complete justice to these characters as well. Naima Khan has given a brilliant performance as Nargis Bua as well. Another thing that I noticed was Mira Sethi is a lefty, I don’t know why but I find it very fascinating so it was an interesting thing to pick. The background music, editing & everything in this episode of Ye Dil Mera worked. It seems the next episode will be half interesting & half of it will cover Ana’s repetitive dialogues & the other half will be dedicated to Farhana Khala’s slow-mo dialogue delivery. Popular Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of 53, reported by Hindustan Times. The actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital due to a colon infection.
This news was shared by Indian filmmaker Shoojit Sircar who is a great friend of him. He wrote, “My dear friend Irrfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irrfan Khan salute.”
He was admitted in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital. He was taken to hospital in emergency as his health deteriorated. He was admitted in ICU and his wife and two sons were with him.
The Hindi Medium actor was suffering ever since he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour.
Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum also lost his life two days ago in Jaipur. However, due to nationwide lockdown, he couldn’t attend it.
Today marks the last day of the most talented actor. It’s a great loss for the industry. May his soul rest in peace.
