Drama making is an art in itself. It takes a huge team to conceive and execute a story and then make it into a drama. Dramas have been a huge part of people’s lives for decades, because they are the kind of entertainment that engages people and allows them to unwind after a long day of work and busy schedule. This is the reason why evening slots are the most popular and suitable timings for the drama viewers because they get to enjoy watching something entertaining with their families or by themselves as well. All over the world, media has invested a lot in drama making and it has been a business of its own kind. Drama industry is an industry in itself and it also opens domains for the actors the moment they step into this world. There are a lot of countries all around the world who produce dramas such as America, South Korea, Iran, Turkey, Australia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, China and last but not the least Pakistan. Dramas not only serve as an entertainment but they also help in promoting the culture of the countries. This is the reason why dramas have also contributed a lot in the rise of tourism in some countries because of the way the drama makers promoted their country and made people fall in love with their culture.
Pakistani dramas have always been on another level of popularity because of the stories that depict real life events and happenings in a most convincing manner. In recent years, Pakistani dramas have reached all over the world where people from different walks of life, irrespective of their nationalities have found them relatable. However, Pakistani dramas have always been popular in India. Indians have also found Pakistani dramas closer to reality because the demographics of both the countries are more or less the same. Another factor that plays a huge part in making Pakistani dramas popular in India is the language because wide population of India can understand Urdu really well.
India has also been producing dramas for decades now. There was a time when Star Plus was quite popular in Pakistan as well. That was the time when not a lot of Pakistani channels were making dramas plus people were actually addicted to never-ending Indian soap operas. In mid 2000’s all the Balaji Produced K-league dramas like Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Kum Kum, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kahin To Hoga were widely watched all over Pakistan. That was the time when people preferred Indian content over Pakistani dramas, because not a lot of Pakistani dramas were being produced. However, it was during the end of the decade when Pakistani drama industry picked up the pace and started making a lot of dramas which caught people’s attention and the rest is history. Now, it is a done deal that no one in Pakistan would tune to Indian content, because it not only hard to follow but is never-ending, which means a life-long commitment to watching a drama.
It won’t be wrong to say that Pakistani dramas are a class apart in comparison to Indian dramas. This is something that the people across the border also agree with and this is the reason why channel Zee Zindagi garnered so much ratings and TRP’s when they started airing Pakistani dramas. During that time, people could not stop talking about Pakistani dramas, but unfortunately, on the basis of political grounds and cross border tensions, Indian Media banned Pakistani content. Although Indians and Pakistanis have a lot in common but it is a fact that there’s nothing common in Indian and Pakistani dramas. The dramas produced in these countries are very different, where one is a pure work of fiction and the other only focuses on bringing reality to the TV screens.
Let’s draw a comparison and see who wins the battle of Indian Dramas VS Pakistani Dramas:
Duration
The biggest difference between Indian and Pakistani dramas is the duration. Pakistani dramas are based on few episodes whereas Indian dramas, the moment they become popular are stretched for not only weeks or months, they continue to air for years. Pakistani drama industry has also produced some soap operas but they definitely do not come close to Indian dramas when it comes to air time. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has aired for 8 years starting from July 2000 to November 2006. Similarly all the widely followed dramas of Star Plus have run for 7 – 8 years. They aired because people loved watching these characters, however the story is a whole different subject. Watching Indian dramas is nothing short of a life-long commitment because they demand you to invest your precious time in them for years. Watching an Indian drama from start to finish will mean you will not only lose your eye-sights, you will end up attaining the status of a couch potato in your family. Dramas should be practically durated and should come to an end at the right time so that people get the satisfaction of watching the ending after they have invested their time. We are sure not many people remember the ending of these popular K-league dramas because by the time they ended, those kids who were in school grew into college or university students busy with their assignments, therefore they must not have bothered picking up the details of Tulsi and her 5 generations that followed at the end.
Stories
Hands down, Pakistani dramas win this one. The stories in Pakistani dramas are closer to reality and this is one of the main reasons why they have been popular among the drama-viewers. They depict real life happenings in a more simple and realistic manner that people end up relating to those characters and situations that they come across on their TV screens. Realistic dialogues, simple scenarios, stories that hit home for most of the people, social issue based stories which do justice to the subject that is being address in the drama – all these factors set Pakistani dramas and their stories apart. Indian dramas however, rely solely on saas bahu saga and family politics. Indian dramas take up a woman as a central character, but then put her through every kind of scrutiny only to show that she is capable of fighting whatever comes her way – which mostly is family politics and a negative character that is on her case. It is good that they show women as such supernatural beings, however the situations which they are put through leave you scratching your head.
In famous Indian drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, to portray the female lead Akshara as one intelligent woman, they showed her checking the license of the guy who showed up at her door to get the job of a driver and don’t be surprised, they dedicated one whole episode to this scenario. The next episode focused on closeups and zoom ins of all the family members of Akshara who were just smiling ear to ear at her intelligence. The very next episode was dedicated to her husband Naitik praising Akshara for it too. These kinds of situations actually make one wonder about the time that has been wasted while watching that entire episode. In Indian dramas, the stories have perfect imbalance because men are hardly seen doing the heavy lifting. They end up looking like stooges who are ready to be treated as one at the hands of female characters and they actually have no say in household dynamics.
Direction & Camera Work
There is a huge difference between the way Pakistani and Indian dramas are directed. Thinking about Indian dramas, we are pretty sure the dhishoom dhishoom and dhoom tanananananananana soundtracks must be playing in your head. Zoom in zoom out, sorry, the ‘never-ending’ zoom in zoom out with actors eyes popping bigger and bigger with each zoom in have scarred a lot of children in mid 2000’s who have watched Indian dramas. If it would’ve been a competition of making people laugh while showing serious scenarios, Indian drama makers would’ve bagged an award for this one because they have the talent of making their dramas amusing.
Pakistani dramas are well directed and each frame tells a story. Currently on air drama Alif is a classic example of brilliant direction. Imagine comparing the direction of Alif with either of K-league dramas like Kasauti Zindagi Ki or Sasural Simar Ka…we are sure drama viewers are shedding a tear at this incomparable comparison. Pakistani drama viewers also have seen some poorly directed dramas like Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai and Aahista Aahista but it still never got as bad as the Indian dramas. For reference, watch the clip from the India-wide popular drama Sasural Simar Ka:

Characters; Makeup and Age
Pakistani drama characters look like people from the real world. Some makeup, tamed hair, decent dresses and they are good to go. Indian drama characters look like people from the outerworld who even go to sleep with full makeup on and wake up early in the morning with their hair silky straight, creaseless sarees and makeup in place. It seems Indian drama characters go to parlour in stead of their beds to sleep because they wake up looking flawless than the day before. Every female character, be it dadi ma or chachi or mami or bahu, each one of them is overly made up to the point that one finds it very hard to even imagine being in their shoes for one day. Being glamorous is a part of an actor’s job and life but Indian drama actors take it literally and seriously. They show women doing all the housework, such as cleaning their husband’s laptop while looking like they have just arrived from their sister’s walima.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95sZd6PiLn0
Indian characters also defy age. This is the reason in K-league dramas such Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and many others, grandmothers did not age and they ended up looking like age fellows of their university going grandchildren. By the time Kasauti Zindagi Ki ended, the main character of Prerna was a grandmother but she was flaunting slim waistline, black than ever hair and skin as if she had gone through a face lift cosmetic procedure. When it comes to Indian dramas, the viewers are bound to leave their mind, logic and common sense to rest otherwise they won’t be able to grasp what is being shown because it is far from reality. We have yet to see a grandmother in Pakistani dramas who looks as young as her grandchildren. C’mon Pakistani grandmothers, you have a new record to break, but well, even if you don’t we will still love and appreciate you the way you are. Indian character of Baa from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahi Thi has made it to the Guiness Book of World Record for living upto 400 years to see her 5 or 6 generations – no jokes!
Acting
This has to be another hands down point where Pakistani drama actors are above and beyond Indian TV actors. In Pakistani dramas, actors have to showcase the emotions, every single emotion that the character is going through. This is the reason why we come across phenomenal acting in every other Pakistani drama. We have such big names who have given their all to the characters they have played but they never cross the line and always make sure to keep their acting realistic. However, when it comes to Indian dramas, popping eyes, exaggerated expressions, over the top display of emotions, hair flips and moving necks to the tune of dhoom tananananana is what constitutes to their acting.
Plastic Surgeries, Reincarnation & Tribute to Snakes
Pakistani dramas have yet to explore this domain because so far the stories that have made it to our TV screens, none of these scenarios fit in a 30 week drama. However, for a drama that runs for as long as 7 years, it is a fact that living beings might end up being dead, similarly, the dead end up becoming alive. Indian dramas have seen a lot such characters who came back from the dead, had plastic surgeries to make someone else’s life a living hell or even had reincarnation to get back to their families or avenge their undue or untimely deaths in punar janams. Karishma Kapoor also worked in one of the dramas named Karishma which aired on Sahara Network, in that drama, her daughter in law goes through plastic surgery to look like Karishma, her mother in law, only to rule the family. Imagine being so miserable that you end up becoming someone else only to make people’s lives miserable? No, no, no, just when you thought you’ve heard it enough, let us tell you that the daughter in law also opts for a reconstructive surgery and goes back to her original self. LOL!
Reincarnation is another myth which is heavily promoted in Indian dramas. The best part is getting to see the character picking up hints from this life and linking it to the previous ones miraculously to find everything very much in its place so that he remembers who he was before. This is some other level of storytelling that Pakistani drama makers have yet to explore. Naagin is another Indian drama which crosses all the limits of logic and common sense. It just doesn’t end there, what’s important to note is that this iconic tale of snakes is so popular that the drama makers are already onto the 4th season of Naagin. With graphics as bad as ever seen on Television, they still sell stories like these and expect viewers to feel proud of the content they are coming up with. No wonder why Zee Zindagi put the drama makers in so much danger that when it stopped airing Pakistani content, they all sighed with relief because Pakistani dramas were raising the bar very high and setting a new precedent of drama making in India.
Original Soundtracks
Let us admit, the only good OST that Indian dramas have produced is probably of the drama Kasauti Zindagi Ki, apart from that, none of their soundtracks are memorable. Pakistani dramas are a complete package, where starting from direction to story to acting to original soundtracks, everything is top-notch. This is the reason why OSTs of Pakistani dramas reach millions of views on YouTube in no time. In the comment section, there are a lot of Indian fans of Pakistani dramas who themselves praise the OSTs of our dramas.
Indian Actors Praising Pakistani Dramas
After stating the obvious, it does not come as a surprise that Indian celebrities themselves have been a fan of Pakistani dramas and content. This is the reason why Zee Zindagi picked up so much viewership in such a short span of time because they were showing Pakistani dramas. They did change the name to make them click for the Indian audience but the Pakistani content shined in all its glory in the original form. Pakistani dramas not only picked up popularity among the regular drama viewers in India, even the Indian TV actors and celebrities were in awe of our dramas. They took it to twitter to appreciate the beauty of Pakistani dramas and story-telling. A lot of Indian actors have also shared their desire of working in Pakistani dramas. This is also the reason why our actors like Fawad Khan, Imran Abbas, Saba Qamar, Sajal Aly, Mahira Khan became so popular in India that they got to work in substantial projects and they also proved their mettle in India and showed the Indian audience how talented Pakistanis are. Take a look at what Indian Actors have said about Pakistani content over the years:
Sidharth Malhotra Prasising Shakeel Siddique & His Character Teeli
Aditya Pancholi Praising Ahsan Khan For Udaari
Indian Film Director & TV Actors Praising Pakistani Dramas
So, with all these comparisons, the results are quite clear but we will still leave it upto you to decide which dramas are the best? In the battle of Indian Dramas VS Pakistani Dramas, which country outbids the other? We are proud of Pakistani drama industry and appreciate the fact that they are not only giving their viewers amazing dramas every single year, but are also contributing a lot in changing the perception of the people about Pakistan. They are enabling the viewers worldwide to see the beauty of Pakistani culture and also educates them about our society and its norms. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Samina Humayun Saeed and Humayun Saeed are one of the most powerful couples in the Pakistani entertainment industry. The husband wife duo are producer and actor, producer respectively and have some of the biggest hits on television and in film to their credit. Humayun Saeed is one of the best actor Pakistan has ever produced. In fact it won’t be incorrect to say that Saeed is a star, who enjoys the same level of stardom as any Khan from Bollywood does.
Samina and Humayun have always been seen as a single, strong unit. Inseparable will be the correct word. However, in a recent interview Humayun Saeed opened up about his first love before Samina and that how painful it was for him.
“I was in love, serious love, before Samina,” confessed Humayun Saeed.
The actor, relived the pain his first relationship taught him stating, “But she didn’t do good to me.”
Talking about the experience the Punjab Nahi Jaungi actor said,”I was in love with a girl before getting married to Samina. She was so beautiful, so wild and so energetic that it was hard to match her madness at times.”
Adding further, Humayun Saeed stated, “She cheated on me, broke my heart and I cried a lot when she did that.”
Humayun opened up about his time with his ex, stating, “We used to go to the beach, she loved parties and I even taught her to drive. I was very shy, I still am but I was more that time and she pulled me out of my shell.”
Seems like the heartthrob of Pakistani cinema and television industry had his heart seriously broken before he found true love in his wife Samina.
Currently Humayun Saeed has once again become the nation’s favorite as Danish in Meray Pass Tum Ho; the classic drama serial revolving around love and betrayal which meets its climax next week.

Seems like Aagha Ali and Hina Altaf have become the new IT couple in town, especially after their last play together i.e. Dil E Ghumshuda.
Recently, Aagha Ali also celebrated Hina Altaf’s birthday, throwing her a surprise party.
Seeing the two’s chemistry together, it doesn’t come as a surprise that another producer had cast Hina and Aagha together for her next play. However, things didn’t turn out well for the two, as reports suggest the producer end up filing a lawsuit against Hina Altaf and Aagha Ali for fraud.
According to Nosheen Aagha of Nosh Films, she had suffered a huge financial setback when Hina and Aagha both walked out of a play she was producing.
“Hina and Agha along with members of the production team had run away from the shoot mid filming without notifying anyone,” stated Nosheen adding that the leads and the team had been paid rupees 1.45 Million in advance.
Nosheen claimed that both the actors and the team had run away without notice and that they wouldn’t return the money as well. As per the contracts the shoot needed to go on from November 3rd to 23rd but hadn’t been done so.
According to Nosheen Agha’a lawyer, Hina Altaf fled the sets on November 16th with her 12 Million followed byS ohail Iftikhar and Gul Zaib Nawaz who ran away alongside the drama script, contracts, finished video files and other valuable items.
“No one has left the shooting spell. There were at least more than 40 people on the set including the actors, DOPS, technical staff and other crew members who were not paid on time. Everyone gave her a favor and we all kept working till the situation worsened,” stated actor Aagha Ali in his defense.
“Nothing of this sort has happened – and I have screenshots of my conversation with her which I can reveal to media when needed,” said a very confident Hina Altaf.

Ehd-e-Wafa has taken off for sure. Tonight’s episode was absolutely beautiful. It was a complete package with some amazing social messages which were presented in the most subtle manner. This episode of Ehd-e-Wafa was also thoroughly entertaining. I must say that I had given up on this drama few weeks back but the recent episodes have blown me away completely. I don’t even remember the last time youngsters were represented in such a manner in a Pakistani drama. It is delightful and refreshing watching youngsters on screen with a definite purpose in life. There were so many brilliant conversations in this episode and quite a few heart-warming scenes. The progressive approach of the writer and the way women have been portrayed in this drama is truly impressive. This had to be the best episode of Ehd-e-Wafa so far and I must say that I am expecting more from this drama in the upcoming episodes. If you too had given up on Ehd-e-Wafa I highly recommend you give it one more chance, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Powerful Scenes
Tonight’s episode opened with a scene we had all been waiting for – Saad and his father sharing some sweet moments. This scene was poignant; it was written and executed perfectly. Who would know the importance of friendship better than Faraz! This scene was just as nostalgic for those of us who have watched the previous two dramas Faraz has been a part of as it was for Saad’s father. I absolutely loved this particular addition since there was a history there most of us could relate to. Saad’s father probably had no idea what impact his conversation would have on his son. Ahad Raza Mir was absolutely phenomenal tonight. He is truly gifted! The way he changes his expressions instantly is truly impressive. He can make you feel for his character instantly. This scene also showed how the relationship between Saad and his father had changed for good over the years. After that incident in the college, Saad’s father was distant but tonight they interacted in a more friendly manner. Saad always treasured his relationship with his father therefore watching it get restored has definitely been the best development.
Another truly impactful scene in tonight’s episode was the conversation Saad and Dua had when they were walking back to the car. I never thought I would say this but Dua’s character is turning out to be remarkable. Through this scene, the writer so aptly conveyed the message that a woman’s career and education was just as important as that of a man. This is the kind of progressive thinking we need to see in our dramas. The best part about this scene was that Dua did not lecture Saad but she said everything quite casually like she was stating a fact and not saying something out of the ordinary. The way Saad took Dua’s ring size was adorable! Alizeh Shah looks great with minimal make-up and her performance tonight was definitely up to the mark.
Saad’s mother is another great role model. She is a wonderful mother and a working woman at the same time. We rarely ever get to see such representation of working women in our dramas. The advice she gave Saad was probably one which a lot of youngsters out there need to hear. These dialogues were so well written and Saife Hassan deserves all the credit for executing these powerful scenes perfectly. It is unfortunate that we don’t get to see such women/mother/friends in our dramas often.
I can’t praise Ramsha and Shariq’s scenes enough. They are good friends and together they are a force to reckon with. Their friendship coupled with the energy of both the actors involved have made their scenes an absolute treat to watch. We basically have three on-screen couples in this drama who are helping each other grow in some way or the other. Raani has her own way of supporting her husband. Her style of course is really different from that of Dua and Ramsha but her scenes have for the most part been enjoyable. Tonight, after a long time I really enjoyed watching Shahzain and Raani’s scene. Finally a drama with no negative female characters! Raani is silly, she is not as educated as rest of the leading ladies but she is lots of fun to watch and definitely not negative.
The Friendship
Saad once again decided to get in touch with his friends. In this manner the viewers found out what Shehryar and Shariq had achieved in all these years. Shehryar is such an amazing character, he does not hold grudges and even when Saad called after so many years, he talked to him as if they had never been out of touch. Waiting for Shahzain to join the group or perhaps he will always be an outcast! It has been great watching Saad, Shehryar and Shariq growing. Shahzain, it seems still has a long way to go.
Saad’s Troubles Are Not Over
Although Saad is an officer now but his troubles are far from over. The scenes at the new army base were written and shot so well, thoroughly entertaining. Although Saad thought he was on top of things but his seniors once again outdid him! Loved the expressions on Ahad Raza Mir’s face in the last scene. The conversation with Gulzar also suggested that Gulzar too was being fooled yet again! The reception Gulzar got was simple yet really emotional. This was yet another subtle message for the viewers about the importance of education.
Final Remarks
Tonight’s episode of Ehd-e-Wafa was exceptional in every way. There were so many important messages in this episode which were emotional and brilliantly put together. From youngsters focusing on their studies and career to showing that your background does not determine how far you can get in life, the writer hit the nail right on its head. I hope that Ehd-e-Wafa continues to be this impressive in the future too. The drama has also picked up pace which definitely adds to the entertainment value. The progressive element of the script supersedes every other aspect at this point. Eagerly looking forward to the next episode of Ehd-e-Wafa.
Do share your thoughts about tonight’s episode of Ehd-e-Wafa.

Hina Altaf, the name only brings about bursts of energy and zest. The bubbly, vivacious actress is a bundle of talent, having some solid and a variety of performances to her credit in her short career.
In a recent, very spontaneous and fun interview, Hina, found herself answering some cheeky questions thrown at her by the host. But what came out of it was Hina Altaf, openly admitting and in the process trashing a few known celebrities and actors like the Aatish actor stating Aamir Liaquat Hussain had a major spitting problem.
During the candid chat, Hina started off by stating that she had always considered herself the most important person in her life. “If you can’t keep your own self happy, how will you keep others happy too?”
Answering questions, Hina confessed that she had been carried away while doing a romantic scene with Emaad Irfani. Hina also added that Faisal Rehman often got too much involved into a romantic scene with his intensity. “He can go grab your hand if the scene requires holding your finger. Working with him, you have to keep your radar on alert,” said Hina. The host then quipped that this wasn’t getting carried away but required a case for it.
Hina jokingly added that she had scared off Faisal Rehman hinting at the #MeToo campaigns often while shooting for scenes.
One of the many questions had Hina Altaf answering that she found Muneeb Butt as an actor who didn’t know much of acting but always threw complete star tantrums. Hina was jokingly confessed that she had not even been invited to Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt’s wedding as well. Also Hina added that Minal Khan had been on of those actors who might find Hina’s acting not up to the mark. Hina’s tongue in cheek remarks are perhaps calling in for a good dose of controversy her way in the future.
So we finally have the teaser of our favorite actor Junaid Khan’s upcoming film as the lead, Kahay Dil Jidhar. The teaser released yesterday and showcased Junaid Khan as a badass cop, who is loyal enough to serve the nation and brave enough to kick some ass without repercussions.
Directed by Jalal Roomi, Kahay Dil Jidhar also stars Mansha Pasha, Kamran Bari and Atiqa Odho in pivotal roles with Pasha playing the female lead. The one minute teaser showed Mansha Pasha as a fearless journalist who will perhaps prove to be a significant aid to the fearless cop Junaid Khan is portraying in the film.
The teaser shows a group of friends charting out their futures after graduation and acomplishing a lot in the process. The film’s direction looks tight and so does the cinematography. The story, which hasn’t been revealed much by the teaser seems interesting enough but the big question still remains. Will Kahay Dil Jidhar be powerful enough to end the draught encircling the cinemas in Pakistan? With no powerful names attached to the film, will Kahay Dil Jidhar prove to be a big hit on the box office, something we haven’t had since a long time.
Mere Pass Tum Ho has given the viewers so much to talk about. We can’t stop talking about the characters and how the story might turn out. Now what if Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar wasn’t the one who wrote the drama but some other famous writer would have written the script. We are pretty sure the story and characters would be different then! Khalil-ur-Rehman is dead against unfaithful people. In his world, there is no forgiveness for women or men who are unfaithful. He also has different philosophies about love which are part of all his scripts. Most writers explore more than just love in their dramas therefore had they written this drama, it would have been different. Mere Pass Tum Ho is a hit no doubt just the way it is but what if it was written by one of the other famous writers?
Here is how we think the story would have been like had it been written by some other famous drama writers in the industry.
Umera Ahmed
Umera Ahmed always shows her leading ladies as resilient, compromising and positive women. They are not always strong problem solvers but they are also not negative. Men most often are the weak ones in Umera Ahmed’s stories, they are the ones who make mistakes and there is some element of spiritualism in her stories. So if she had written Mere Pass Tum Ho, here is what would have happened.
Mehwish would have Danish’s personality traits…a dotting wife who would have given the marriage her very best.
Danish would have Mehwish’s characteristics…greedy, immature and not committed enough.
Mehwish’s mother-in-law and perhaps her best friend Anoushey would play a big role in separating the couple.
Danish would have left Mehwish for a woman just as clever as Shehwar but they would have been married….that woman could be Hania.
That woman would have made Danish’s life hell after he left Mehwish for her.
There would have been no divorce between Mehwish and Danish.
Mehwish would turn to Allah, live a simple life and raise her son Rumi to be an exemplary yet unfulfilled life because of the absence of his father.
Towards the end Danish would come begging to Mehwish and she would have forgiven him because she will be spiritually so strong that she will understand the sanctity of the nikkah and forgiveness is much more than taking revenge.
If you have watched Durr-e-Shehwar, Shehr-e-Zaat, Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan, Doraha and Qaid-e-Tanhai, you will agree with us!
Faiza Iftikhar
Faiza Iftikhar’s writing style is also loved by many viewers. Her heroines are smart and strong-headed women who are definitely problem solvers. Her leading men can be flawed in many ways but there is always something likable about them. Faiza Iftikhar’s characters are full of surprises. What if Faiza Iftikhar had written Mere Pass Tum Ho? Well, here is what we think would have happened.
Mehwish and Danish would have had an arranged/forced marriage.
Mehwish would have been a mix of intelligent and headstrong.
Danish would be a mature man who would try to win his wife over but would give her enough time to decide things on her own.
The whole drama would have revolved around how Mehwish and Danish eventually fall in love.
There would definitely be some family involved!
Shehwar would have been Mehwish’s ex-fiancé who left her for someone else but came back into her life after her marriage.
In the end, Mehwish would be the one who would save the relationship after she falls head over heels in love with her husband.
If you have watched dramas like Dillagi, Aunn Zara, Baba Jani, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Woh Mera Dil Tha, you will surely agree with us!
Farhat Ishtiaq
Farhat Ishtiaq is another leading drama writer who has her own writing style. Her dramas often have a mystery of element about them. There is also some crime involved and the characters have a lot of conflicts. If she had written Mere Pass Tum Ho, the characters would have had more of a background and the man was likely to be more flawed than the woman. Farhat Ishtiaq also incorporates some social message in her drama therefore that would have been a must too! So here is how we think Mere Pass Tum Ho’s characters and stories would have turned out had it been written by Farhat Ishtiaq.
Danish would have been a man on a mission, someone who had lost a loved one tragically.
Danish and Mehwish wouldn’t have been married but they would have met somewhere and their backgrounds in some way would have been connected.
The entire story would have revolved around Danish and Mehwish’s conflicts but at the same time they would have achieved something in life.
Once they would have gotten married Shehwar would have entered the scenario as the killer of someone close to Danish.
Shehwar would have had a terrible ending, Danish’s internal turmoil would eventually be sorted out and Mehwish would stay a strong character till the end even after going through a lot.
There would be more side tracks too involving Shehwar and how he took over the business of the person he killed.
Dramas like Bin Roye, Udaari, Yakeen Ka Safar and Yeh Dil Mera definitely suggest that Farhat Ishtiaq would have taken the story to a completely different direction.
What do you think how would Mere Pass Tum Ho’s story would have been if one of these iconic writers had written the drama? While Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s drama rely on heavy dialogues and emotions, there are some other writers who are relatively more subtle. Also, Mere Pass Tum Ho has the central characters but they have no background or family. All the three writers mentioned in this article wouldn’t create a drama with such characters. Umera Ahmed, Faiza Iftikhar and Farhat Ishtiaq always have different tracks in their drama which are related but sometimes all these tracks have their own individual standing as well. One thing is for sure, Mehwish wouldn’t have been as negative a character as she is if one of these writers had written the script.
Another week, another brilliant episode of Alif. This episode did not allow me to look away even for a second. The detailing, the acting, the expressions & the essence that has been captured & breathed into every single scene & frame of Alif sets it apart from all the other dramas that have made it to our TV screens ever. This episode was a perfect balance of past & the present. At the forefront it might not seem that the story has moved forward but the way they take us in the backstory & give us all the details definitely shows how important it is for the viewers to understand what happened in the past & the consequences of it in the present. This episode definitely had some of those amazing moments that left me in awe but yes, after watching the preview, I am more than looking forward to what they have in store for us.
Momina’s Trials & Tribulations
I have always felt a lot for Momina’s parents Sultan & Suraiya, but for the veryyy first time while watching this episode, I really felt Momina could not win, no matter what she did. As much as I do understand the issues Momina’s parents are dealing with, that makes me feel a lot more for her than I feel for them. Suraiya & Sultan have lost their son, but they do have each other, don’t they? I will only take their characters as a reason that the writer has chosen, in order to show that while Momina was stepping on one level of success after another, her personal life was full of tests & trials, where one awaited her after another. Surraiya is suffering from schizophrenia, that entire scene was dark, disturbing & actually conveyed the essence of how hard things were for both, Momina as well as her mother. Surraiya was attached to Jahangir & she could not deal with his loss. To top it off her entire surrounding was changed, new place, new home, no contact to her old life that she was used to ended up allowing her to develop this mental condition. I thought Sultan will somewhat ease Momina’s pain but he had his own baggage. I love how they have shown Sultan as well as Surraiya as selfless parents. They are not selfish, like they themselves are a victim of harshness & cruelty of life but it is unfortunate that they are now bringing Momina’s spirits down. I do feel for her parents but I feel for her a lot more.
Qalb e Momin’s Transition
The way Hamza Ali Abbasi showcased the emotional & mental transition Qalb e Momin went through after losing Dada Jaan was absolutely phenomenal. Every step of the way, through his facial expressions, the dejection in his body language, even his eyes spoke how far he had come in just a few months after losing Abdul Alla. Qalb e Momin has changed, people around him can already feel it but he has yet to realize it. The same Qalb e Momin who would not speak to anyone nicely was now welcoming people in his personal space only because they were somehow associated to his Dada Jaan. I must say, the highlight of this entire episode for me was the short scene where Qalb e Momin was watching Momina’s interview on TV. His minute expressions were beyond impressive. Qalb e Momin looked like a fan who was happy to see Momina on the TV & not only that, he was actually getting impressed by her maturity & wisdom which she displayed while answering all of the questions but then, Qalb e Momin was hit with a harsh reality. He was taken back & got a reminder of the time when he used to be ruthless. He actually felt miserable learning about Momina’s brother & his demise. Qalb e Momin has slowly started realizing that he has hurt & probably crushed a lot of people in those days when he was ignorant & arrogant. His embarrassment & humility was evident. Brilliant performance by Hamza Ali Abbasi I must say!
The Past
Taha & Husn e Jahan. They had a dysfunctional marriage & what broke my heart was seeing young Momin being a part of the equation where he could see his parents in such a miserable mental & emotional state. Qalb e Momin was young but he was at such an impressionable age that he was picking up little details – he was compassionate enough to shed a tear when he saw his father disturbed. He was also observant enough to see that his mother’s demeanor had changed too. In those disturbing scenes which showed two people struggling hard, young Momin’s presence was not only sweet, it was heartwarming. He was trying to find happiness in such a place where there was nothing but emptiness & darkness. I felt for Momin a lot & knowing how these experiences have shaped Qalb e Momin’s personality & life at this stage, I feel for him even more.
I am sure there are a lot of details that will be given out in the future episodes, but honestly speaking, I am not sure what to think of Taha’s character. I am just wondering if he had behaved the same way if he had gotten married to anyone & not just Husn e Jahan? A wife in this situation would’ve been a distraction for him anyway, so because he was miserable himself, he held Husn e Jahan responsible for everything? I do understand his character; he was guilt-stricken that he had disappointed & estranged his father who loved him wholeheartedly, he was also struggling because his father chose not to forgive him when he sought his forgiveness. Taha was a victim too but then, calling his marriage to Husn e Jahan a mistake made me upset. He easily accused Husn e Jahan of cheating too just after he found out that she was in contact with Sultan. Why would he do that? Didn’t Husn e Jahan prove herself to him enough, didn’t she show him that she was loyal & had actually left everything behind? I found Taha to be rigid & unforgiving. Yes, he was fighting his own demons but holding his wife solely responsible for everything made me not appreciate his character as much as I would’ve loved to. Yes, he was flawed, he was weak, he was guilt-stricken & he was struggling but then, would he have behaved the same way if he had gotten married to anyone because eventually he’d had blamed his wife for not being able to concentrate on his calligraphy & losing his aesthetics & art? I feel for Husn e Jahan & Qalb e Momin more.
So, Momina started reading the script written by Qalb e Momin – Alif, ‘ye kaisa naam hai’. In that moment, she had no idea that this script was going to change her life. She was going to learn so much more about her father than he had ever told her. The preview of the next episode was enthralling & I can not stop thinking about it. The way Sajal Aly depicted Momina’s developing interest in the script immediately after she started reading it was another brilliant moment of this episode. Momina Sultan has no idea what she’s about to get into. Qalb e Momin has definitely written a script based on the life of his parents, it sure is going to move everyone & touch everyone’s hearts.
Beautiful Episode
This episode was absolutely beautiful. It was filled with such heart-touching moments. It was like a movie. I absolutely love the instrumental music they play in the background, it really doubles the charm & makes the drama-watching experience enjoyable. I must say, camera wise the best scene of this episode was the walk of Qalb e Momin & Husn e Jahan after he picked flowers for his mother. That scene was absolutely adorable & captured the unconditional love that a child has for his mother beautifully. This episode of Alif once again had some beautiful moments to its credit. Director Haseeb Hassan definitely deserves the credit for always adding so much detailing in every frame, every scene, every single episode of the drama. His visionary direction has made Alif what it is. Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sajal Aly, Ahsan Khan, Kubra Khan & Pehlaaj Hussain have been brilliant throughout. Special mention definitely goes to Pehlaaj Hussain for giving the young Qalb e Momin not only an adorable face but phenomenal & realistic portrayal. I am most certainly looking forward to the next episode, especially the confrontation of Momina & Sultan. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Alif.
Eman Suleman has gained fame as a model and actor. Eman Suleman announced that she would be marring soon her friend Syed Jamil Haider Rizvi. Eman Suleman tied the knot with Syed Jamil Haider Rizvi few days ago in an intimate Nikkah ceremony with no traces of show off. Eman Suleman and her husband wanted a simple wedding but their families didn’t agree, so now it’s a typical wedding with all three functions of Mehndi, Baarat and Walima. Yesterday Eman Suleman’s Mehndi event took place. We shared the details about the event with you. Today was the Baarat day of Eman Suleman. Here are a few pictures from the event.
Let’s have a look at these astounding highlights of the event.
Watching these pictures made us remember the wedding pictures of our parents. There was a banner of red colour with Shadi Mubarak and Happy Marriage written on it with golden colour. Colourfull tepee at the surroundings, colourful hangings and a simple wodden soafa with side tables all reminded us of old times. This event was planned by House of Shazia Cheema.
Eman Suleman is looking breathtakingly gorgeous in red pishwas with silver dubka work on it. Whereas, Syed Jamil Haider Rizvi is wearing off white kurta pajama with waist coat.
We absolutely loved this wedding idea of Eman Suleman. Share your thoughts in comments section!
Tonight’s episode of Mere Pass Tum Ho was supposed to be a relatively longer episode as promised by the producers and the channel itself but that was not the case. I am truly disappointed by some of the tactics which the producers of this drama have used to ensure that viewers watch Mere Pass Tum Ho when it goes on air on television. While it is perfectly fine to try and grasp the attention of the viewers through marketing, such lame promises only frustrate the viewers. I am certain now we will be told that actually the last episode will be 60 minutes long!! People who have been watching Mere Pass Tum Ho for 20 weeks will obviously tune in to the last 3 episodes as well therefore my kind request to the producers to take it easy and not be so desperate since the drama is already getting enough attention as it is!!
The Proposal
This episode of Mere Pass Tum Ho yet again focused on the love triangle and once again the big question remains whether or not Danish will forgive Mehwish. It was great watching Anoushay Abbasi on screen after such a long time. Rumi yet again played the matchmaker and many of his dialogues in this episode as well were not age appropriate. Some of the dialogues tonight were beautifully written and just like every other episode of Mere Pass Tum Ho, this one too banked more on the conversations than anything else. Hania accepted Rumi’s proposal because in her opinion the poor kid was trying to rescue his father. Wateera played a role similar to the one she has been playing in the past few weeks – making Hania realize that she does indeed have feelings for Danish. I was hoping that there would be more to Mateen sahab’s story but apparently not. Danish wore the ring but he is clearly not ready to commit to anyone. It is easy to understand why Rumi would want Hania to be there with him, the poor kid is lonely but Danish is going through so much mental turmoil that even the thought of getting married again wouldn’t have crossed his mind otherwise. At the end of the day it was ‘aba’ more than Rumi who convinced Danish to go along with what Rumi has started.
Mehwish and Danish
The way Mehwish walked out of Ayesha and Salman’s house after that conversation Salman had with Danish in front of her showed she still wanted to be in control. My favorite dialogue from tonight’s episode was, “apne jalay hue khoon se kahani likh raha hoon. Likh raha hoon ke chalo bewafai us ka haq tha, haq us ne istemal kar liya tu ab haq na jataye mujhe pe.” That is exactly what Mehwish is trying to do even now – she feels helpless because she no longer has the control which she had on Danish once. Danish on the other hand has made up his mind that Mehwish no longer controls or ‘owns’ him.
Somehow even with all the regret that is being shown, there are times when Mehwish’s behavior shows as if she is entitled to be forgiven! Monty turning into the bhai was funny but the role his wife played was quite likable. Ayeza Khan’s look changed completely when she entered the flat, when she was having breakfast with Salman and Ayesha her hair color was different and when she entered the flat it was much darker. Basically she went from being Mehwish to being Sehar (her character’s name in Thora Sa Haq). Her look in the scenes shot at the apartment was the one she is sporting in drama serial Thora Sa Haq. Her actions too later on were quite like Sehar ;) I was not expecting Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar to add this part but yes definitely something you can relate to since everyone turns to God when they feel completely helpless. I also feels that these scenes were added later on when the producers felt that they needed to increase the number of episodes.
‘Wo tarap ke mujh se kaha karta tha mere pass tum ho aur mein janti thi wo undr se yehi keh raha hei tum tu mere pass nahi ho Mehwish” was another dialogue in this episode which was so powerful – it explained so much. Basically Mehwish acknowledged that even when she was with Danish, she wasn’t entirely with him! Although she blamed Danish for being insecure but this was the reason why he was always unsure and probably felt the need to show Mehwish how much he loved her so that she won’t leave him.
Shehwar and Maham
Shehwar has turned in to this bheegi billi and Maham is making sure that she makes his life a living hell. Maham clearly has not forgiven Shehwar but she also does not want to let go of him. She is also making him suffer and treating him more like an object – someone she owns and can treat any way she wants. Shehwar deserves that and more but I am waiting to see how this particular track ends. Savera Nadeem has an absolute screen presence and Adnan Siddiqui is just as convincing as the bheegi billi as he was as the phanay khan ;)
Final Remarks
Am I the only one who is not rooting for Hania and Danish at all? I don’t find this on-screen couple or the ‘love’ Hania feels for Danish appealing or convincing. I am definitely rooting for Danish and want to see him living a happy life – wish Rumi could have been happily settled with his father and wasn’t bent on ‘rescuing’ him. There was an overdose of Rumi in tonight’s episode as well. The drama could have easily ended this week. I am waiting for the ’emotional’ last episode which is not meant for the faint-hearted – I hope it fits the bill.

The Suit stars Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry announced huge news of stepping back as senior members of the royal family.
The world has a positive and negative opinion on this and for unknown reasons, Ahmed Ali Butt also had a strong opinion on Megxit.
He took to Instagram to share his opinion about #megxit. Butt shared, “An actress who has been in the limelight and a prince who has born with royal blood and responsibility. I don’t believe that because of media and family matters you are stepping down from your birth responsibility.”
“Megan knew very well what was she getting into and if you can’t handle a little family drama then you shouldn’t have gotten through fairy tale wedding. A woman elevates her man by being strong and vice versa.”
Ahmed Ali Butt believes Prince Harry is acting like an over-sensitive kid, He said, “Harry need to man the f###up and be more responsible towards his blood line and duties. Your a prince man stop acting like a over sensitive kid.”
Butt also predicted the future of the royal couple and in other words, he also called Meghan an unfaithful lady. “Even if they do step down she will divorce him in the next three years. Some people don’t know how good they have until it’s taken away from them.”
Many people criticized Meghan at the time of the wedding that she is getting married to a Prince because of his status and money, but from this decision, it is very clear that she did not marry Prince for power and status. In Ahmed Ali Butts’s opinion, it seems like he is a royal expert and he knows what best for the royal couple.
