If I say television’s favorite mother I know whose name will pop up in your head. It would be Saba Faisal. While, we mostly credit the leads of the dramas for their success, supporting characters have also a huge role to play and speaking of supporting roles Saba Faisal is the queen of them. She started as a newsanchor on PTV and switched to television. She’s done tons of successful projects from Humsafar to Ishq Tamasha. While, we have seen her so much on television, we want to know how her personal life is like. Saba has three kids a daughter and two sons.
Her daughter Sadia Faisal is an actor herself. She’s married and has a son. We got our hands on some of her pictures with her mother, husband and son. Sami Khan is the hottest addition to the new age Pakistani Cinema cinema. He’s has been reigning on Television so far but he’s back to where he started from. He was an engineer but very passionate about acting so he joined films and landed a signifacant role in Shahzad Rafique’s 2004 release Salakhain opposite Zara Shaikha and Meera. Films stopped being made and Sami switched to television and he has ruling ever since.
His first of the four films lined up would be an indie movie called Gumm. On being asked how he got the film, he said, “Ammar called me for the film that he was making with his wife, so I asked him to send me the script and it was very detailed, with the minutes marked for every scene,” Khan recalled. “But I did have a lot of questions, so they sent me their show reels when I asked them about how they planned on executing the story and they told me they’d minored in cinematography as well. And I was completely sold when I met them, after I signed onto the film, and they narrated the script to me. They were very clear about what they wanted and had done their homework.”
On Kaaf Kangana he said, ““It’s a very nice script and I’m lucky to be a part of it. There’s great responsibility on my shoulders as well, which is why I haven’t done any drama for about eight months now; I’ve given my all to the film. And the advantage we have is that Khalil sahab is directing also, so he knows how to translate his script on celluloid. His dialogues aren’t plain lines to read out, they’re lyrical and poetic, and I couldn’t deliver them at times, so he’s been there to guide me through. I’ve learnt how acting in films need to have those dramatic pauses, to make it all look larger-than-life.”
On why he chose to do Wrong No. 2. He replied, “In all these years, I’d never worked with Yasir until Khudgharz, last year. And he pushed me to do a negative role, so I enjoy being challenged; for an actor, comedy is the most difficult genre to attempt. I think after suspense and an intense romance, this would be a relief for cine-goers as well. I hope people can forget logic, buy their popcorn and just have a good laugh; go home smiling.”
They say love is in the air but for 2018, the case is a little different. This year weddings have been the air. Everyone is getting married. The conversations veered from TV shows to politics to “plan for the day?” The few times we met before he left for DC, he talked openly about his regrets and hopes and dreams. Sitting across from him in Cosa Nostra, this time not very hungry because my body was clenched with affection and interest, I listened. He was warm and funny and brilliant. That night, I curled up next to him and we watched a show on Netflix. The next year was a whirlwind. We travelled together to Lisbon, Brussels, Amsterdam, New York, Islamabad, Reno, San Francisco. We went to a festival in the desert and slept under the stars. We danced to really bad music. We biked across the desert at night, our cycles glowing with fairylights. The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had banned Dr. Shahid Masood, from appearing on TV for a three-month period on March 20th. Dr. Masood was banned after his claims regarding the presence on an international pornographic ring in Pakistan were found to be “unfounded and baseless” by the JIT. Now, he is in trouble again as he has been arrested.
According to case filed against Shahid Masood, he had signed an agreement with a fake company to negotiate with the Pakistan Cricket Board for grant of rights to PTV for coverage of cricket matches played in Pakistan. PTV faced heavy losses post that. Roshan Mustafa Gillani and Kashif Rabbani were also suspects in the case. They had returned 8 Million and 10 Million after their bail was denied.
A district court of Islamabad had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Masood on the request of FIA but he had obtained an interim pre-arrest bail. But a special court of FIA had refused to confirm his interim bail in October. Shahid Masood had filed a plea in IHC after his interim bail period expired today. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani dismissed his petition for pre-arrest bail.
Noor Bukhari is a former film actress. She worked in countless films and always has been famous and remained in the public eye. Her last marriage with singer and actor Wali Hamid Khan ended up in a divorce and she went through a very rough patch in her life at that point. She turned to Allah and since then she has found peace and has left her acting career. Noor Bukhari started a youtube channel of hers and has been working as a host. She has started doing proper purdah too.

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Episode 4 Story Review – Tonight’s episode of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was yet another one which had it all, stellar performances from an extremely well-chosen cast, appealing and attractive dialogues, screenplay which does not leave anything to your imagination and superb direction which gives the story the perfect flow. Tonight’s episode also introduced the viewers to some of the other important supporting characters in the play. Sahir’s family continues to be a mystery therefore we can’t be sure if Sahir really is being honest.
Bhola and Noori’s Love Stories
Bhola and Noori both are in love with people who they don’t have a future with. While Noori dreamed of making it big one day so that she would be more ‘acceptable’ for Sahir’s family, Bhola stole his mother’s gold jewelry to please the only ‘woman’ he loves. With every passing episode, the similarities between these two characters are more obvious than ever. Their love stories are also similar in some ways; Bhola runs away from home to meet Mumtaz Begum and Noori does not want to go home because she cannot stay away from Sahir. Even though Bhola’s mother loves him but he feels like he belongs with Mumtaz Begum, Noori too never felt a sense of belonging towards her family but is willing to do anything to be part of Sahir’s life. Even after trying her best to be different from her family members and continuously looking down upon them because of their lifestyle as well as their profession, Noori cannot change the fact that her family will always be her identity. Sahir keeps you wondering since the viewers have not been introduced to his family just yet and he has never been shown thinking about everything that is happening. This was not the first time that Bhola stole something therefore it seems that Mumtaz Begum is using him.
Noori’s Persistence
Even after Sahir made it quite clear to Noori that they can never be together, she continued to stay in touch and was just as enthusiastic about this relationship as she was before. Noori is more than confident, she is over-confident and she is convinced that she has everything under control. She is a little lady with big dreams and she believes in herself probably more than she should. Noori does not even let reality checks like the one she got today stand in the way of her dreams. I must say that this was the first episode in which I looked forward to and enjoyed watching Noori’s story just as much as that of Bhola’s. Iqra Aziz’s exceptional performance, her entire look in this episode and the way this character has been etched-out makes Noori an enchanting character.
The Realities In Noori and Bhola’s Lives
The realities of Noori and Bhola’s lives are completely different from the lives they are continuously trying to live. No matter how much Noori criticizes the things she hates, the fact is that she won’t be able to do much if her parents decide to “sell/marry” her off to Shoka. Similarly, the meetings and conversations with Mumtaz Begum might give Bhola a temporary escape but in the process he unintentionally hurts the only person who really loves him – his mother. The way Bhola’s mother made excuses for him was heart-warming. She protected him while he was away even though she is constantly telling him off when he is with her – this reminded me of his “meeni” comment.
Mind-Blowing Performances
Imran Ashraf’s performance leaves you in awe of his brilliance every single time. This role is extremely challenging yet he gives all these expressions and delivers a faultless performance in such an effortless manner. Iqra Aziz continues to be at her best, her performance tonight was especially impressive. Syed Jibran has translated his character so well on screen that every scene he is a part of comes across as natural. The entire supporting cast is well-suited for every character they are playing but my favorite has to be Noor-ul-Hassan!
Overall Impression
Tonight’s episode was heartfelt, well-paced and engaging. The performances were powerful as well as persuasive. This drama has so much to offer since Noori and Bhola’s stories are deep, meaningful, sensitive and extremely emotional. Although, these two people belong to a world very different from the one we live in yet they have the viewers’ undivided attention because their stories are so easy to connect to. Their naivety, frustrations, complexes and dreams have all been executed brilliantly on screen. Loved this episode and waiting impatiently for more. Watching this drama is like reading a beautiful book, you want to pause and absorb every single dialogue and moment so yes, I will be watching this episode one more time too.

They aren’t just limited to Pakistan; this is pretty much a global issue.”

Zubaida Aapa generously shared everything she had learned in her life with her audience. She was also known for her amazing recipes and the changes she made to traditional dishes. Zubaida Aapa was a self-taught home maker and expert who will live in people’s hearts forever.
Asma Jahangir
Asma Jahangir was a human rights lawyer who also co-founded and chaired the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. She was also a social activist who was known for her bold stance. She never let anyone stand in the way of her struggle. She served her country for many years and in the end she died suddenly due to cardiac arrest in Lahore on February 11,2018. She was 66 years old and she dedicated most of her life furthering the principles she believed in. Asma Jahangir’s sudden death came as a complete shock to everyone. Some very emotional scenes were seen when her body was carried from the hospital.
Qazi Wajid
Qazi Wajid was a legendary actor who started his career from radio, he was considered one of the pioneers. Later on, he joined television in 1966 and in 1988, he was awarded Pride of Performance Award by the government of Pakistan. He was part of some of the most popular dramas which aired in the golden era of PTV. Qazi Wajid passed away on February 11,2018 after he was admitted to hospital with the complaint of heart palpitations. He was 87 years old at the time of his demise and his loss was mourned by one and all. His colleagues termed his death an irreplaceable loss and the end of an era. He continued to work in dramas right till the end and had a massive fan following. He was also known for his sense of humor and positive approach.
Anam Tanoli
Anam Tanoli is the only celebrity in this list who did not die of natural causes, she is also the youngest celebrity in this list. Anam Tanoli committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan on September 1, 2018, in her house in Lahore. Anam Tanoli suffered from severe depression due to the bullying she faced. She was only 26 years old and only a day before she died she made a video in which she urged people to stop bullying. Many celebrities expressed their opinion against cyber and all other forms of bullying after Anam’s tragic death. Fahmida Riaz was a renowned progressive Urdu poet, writer and she was also a human rights activist. She wrote more than 15 books on fiction and poetry and her death was considered a huge loss because of her major contributions in different fields. Fahmida Riaz was 72 years old when she passed away on 21 November, 2018. Celebrities from all fields of showbiz expressed their grief on her sad demise.

It truly is the most anticipated project this year. Based on khadija Mastoor’s famous novel of the same name, it depicts pre-partion era and how changing political climate had effects on ordinary people. It stars Sajal Ali, Ahad Raza mir, Sonya Hussyn, Ahsan Khan, Mawra Hocane, Rabia Butt and Abid Ali. Every teaser that comes out is only increasing our excitement. Now, the fourth teaser has come out.
The fourth teaser unravels the mystery attached to Mawra Hocane’s character. We did catch glimpses of her in the previous teasers but this one shows that she is going to romance Ahsan Khan and ahad Raza Mir. Mawra had also shared that her character would be romancing three different men in the story and the trailer exactly shows that. She is also seen rejecting Ahad’s love which shows she maybe interested in Ahsan’s character. At the same time, there is also some action and drama in the teaser. Sajal can be seen raising a slogan in Muslim league’s favor with zeast which shows that her characters supports Muslim League in the drama.
Iqra aziz is woman of the hour. She’s featuring in an Asim Azhar’s single which is breaking the internet. It has also garnered the attention of Bollywood stars. Karan Johar tweeted that he loved the song. Iqra’s Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is an absolute delight. At the same time, her fragrance campaign by Maria B is also getting her enough attention.

Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh was filled with bad acting & poorly pronounced words that by the end of it, I actually lost count of how many fumbles all the actors made & how the director didn’t even bother correcting them. It just shows the level of interest the director is left with when it comes to this project.
One-Dimensional Characters:
Everytime I watch Koi Chand Rakh, I am left wondering how is it possible for the characters to be so one dimensional & shallow that they do not believe in giving benefit of doubt to the one they love misunderstanding? I mean before even blaming or misunderstanding Rabail, do they even think for a second? It is so amusing that the moment they make up their mind about Rabail, they stick to their opinion without even considering for a second that they might be misconstruing her or her intentions? Like I said before, they all see a punching bag in Rabail so they just love to use her as one.
Zia left & Zain confirmed that he was the sort of guy who was unreliable but even then Sobia & Gulshan decided to blame Rabail because they did the wrong kind of brainstorming & came up with this conclusion that Rabail had everything to do with Zia backing off & leaving before the engagement? Zain clearly said that he knew Zia had all these issues but even then Rabail is the one who is facing the brunt for it.
Nishal tried to convince her father that Umair was misunderstanding her & blaming her for being involved with Zain but that entire scene was so poorly executed where everyone just started yelling at Rabail. Nafeesa is another bipolar patient that we have here who repeatedly calls Rabail & tells her to speak to Umair but on the other hand she doesn’t shy away from holding Rabail responsible for everything wrong, every chance she gets!!!
Rsbail is expecting a baby…another unexpected twist because all that we knew so far was that Zain couldn’t accept her as his wife, but oh well. I find it so frustrating that Zain accuses Rabail of keeping things secret from him when he himself is literally cheating on her. Nishal tried to get closer to Zain by telling her parents that Zain was not happy with Rabail, I wonder how she will react when she will find out that she has a step-baby on the way!
Closing Thoughts – Cringe:
The preview of the next episode was cringe-worthy too. Zain & Nishal will get married. I wonder what will Nafeesa say now when she will find out that her daughter Nishal is a homewrecker? I can’t believe that the overall acting & direction in this particular episode of Koi Chand Rakh was so so bad. It did seem so forced & effortful as if they all were tired themselves to be taking this drama seriously. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.

Haseena Moin needs no introduction. When we think of greatness on Pakistan Television, she is the first name that pops up in our mind. She also wrote dialogues for a Bollywood film Henna which was sent to the academy awards that year as India’s official entry.
Haseena Moin appeared on Samina Peerzada’s Speak Your Heart, a web show which was garnering alot of attention as people do really speak their heart. Haseena revealed that she is a breast cancer survivor. Back in 2005, she felt some pain in her body and on being her family’s insistence she went for the tests. She was then diagnosed with breast cancer. She said that she reacted very calmly and did not panic. She in fact asked the Dr who was her brother’s friend what was to be done then? The doctors advised her to get medication. She said that she would stay awake all night and many stories came to her mind while she was awake and she would forget them all.
She said that one of friends advised her that she should fight it and she kept that in her mind. This helped her fight the battle against the disease and she survived. Well, we must say that she’s a big inspiration.
The second edition of the T10 League got off to a colourful start at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium with an opening ceremony filled with music and dance before Rajputs signalled their intention with a 10-wicket win over Sindhis in the first match of the 12-day showpiece on Wednesday. The opening ceremony was attended by government officials, members of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), team owners and Bollywood celebrities. Many Pakistani celebrities also attended the event including Umair Jaswal, Ushna Shah, Sarwat Gillani, Suzane Fatima, Meera and Ayesha Omer.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Shaikh Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Ruler’s Court, with all the top cricketers from around the world, who have made a mark in shorter formats of the game, lining up before the fans. Defending champions Kerala Knights, Punjabi Legends, Bengal Tigers, Maratha Arabians, Pakhtoons and Northern Warriors are the other teams that will compete in 10-overs-a-side thrillers.
Eight teams – Kerala Knights, Punjabi Legends, Bengal Tigers, Maratha Arabians, Pakhtoon, Rajputs, Sindhis and Northern Warriors – will vie for the honours in the second season.

Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt’s wedding is breaking the internet. Aiman has been in the limelight for various reasons. It was her birthday a few years ago and both twins threw a star studded bash which was attended by the who’s who of the industry. Before that it was Aiman’s dholki which went viral on the internet. It was attnded mostly by her close friends. Setting a trend Aiman threw two bridal showers. One as a pyjama party for her girl besties and another one was formal which again was attended by many celebrities. We hadn’t hardly gotten over that and her Nikaah happened and the pictutes that came out were beautiful.
We got our hands on some more pictures from Aineeb’s wedding shoot and boy are they beautiful? Both make the cutest pair and they are totally goals. The way they look at each other in these clicks is proof that they love each other unconditionally and are totally made for each other.

Sarmad is an ace director and also an actor. He’s proved his mettle in both the departments time and again. He had just featured with Saima in an Aplus drama and before that he did Teri Raza with Sanam Baloch on ARY Digital. His list of directorials is longer and greater. Humsafar, Shehr e Zaat, Pani Jaisa Pyaar and latest Akhri Station. He’s always successful forayed into films. Manto was liked by the audience and critics alike. Now, Sarmad has formed his own film production company known as Khoosat Films and he is all set to direct an untitled film.
Sarmad hinted at a film on his Instagram by adding a couple of photos. Although, the name has not been revealed yet, it is said that the film is going to be in Punjabi. Sarmad said, “Being a local of the city Lahore, I can relate to the subject of the film in a purely raw way. The reason the film is going to be in Punjabi is because it is set in Lahore and Punjabi is the only language that will encapsulate the story rooted in this city and its culture. I feel like the aura, the authenticity and the dialect of Lahore have not been embedded on screen yet.”
It will be produced by Kanwal Khoosat, Sarmad’s sister and screenplay is going to be written by Nirmal Bano while the script is Sarmad’s. The film will star Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleiman, Ali Kureishi and Arif Hasan.
Asim Azhar’s latest single is a rage. It has gotten 8 Million views in 3 days only. It has been released by an Indian recording company and features Iqra Aziz in it. The song is breaking the internet. It wasn’t long ago that Asim has wished if he could sing a song for Shahrukh Khan and SRK had gifted him with a T-shirt. Now, there’s one more Bollywood biggie who seems to have been impressed by Tera Woh Pyaar singer’s crooning skills.
It’s none other than Karan Johar. Yes, you heard that right. Karan Johar shared a youtube link to Asim’s single on his twitter handle and wrote, “Such a beautiful song!!! heartbreak melody at its best!” Well, that’s huge. It’s not an easy thing to be noticed by a renowned filmmaker like Johar. Well, that was not the end of story. Asim was quick to respond. He thanked Karan and was glad that he liked the song. Asim wrote, “Bohat Shukriya Karan! glad you like it.”
Well, who knows this just maybe a start to Asim’s foray into Bollywood playback singing. Karan might give him a chance to sing in his one of the upcoming blockbusters. It will be a treat for both Bollywood and pop music fans to see this collab happen.
Ohkay so, this episode of Dil Mom Ka Diya was well executed & showed us some great performances by all the actors. The story of this drama might not be new bur there is some newness to it in general, I feel that may be because I am still unsure of the kind of ending Ulfat will meet, so it is still interesting to see her facing her fate.
Ulfat & Tipu Are A Match Made In Hell:
Ulfat has found an exact copy of her in the form of Tipu. Tipu is just exactly like Ulfat – careless, boisterous & straight forward to the point of being blunt that is why he has been the only person who left Ulfat speechless many times. Ulfat has slowly & steadily started to realize that Tipu is a polar opposite ot Afzal & she has also understood that Tipu doesn’t have as much patience as Afzal. Tipu is someone who believes in ruling his partner & he has not connected to Ulfat on an emotional level. For Tipu, Ulfat is just his partner who he is sharing his roof with, that is why he does not care much about her emotions & feelings.
Tamkinat & Azhar’s track now seems to be getting dragged but then it is understandable that they are running that story in the background so that they are not forgotten about but I feel we have seen their heartbreak enough already so it is better if some kind of progress is made in their track.
Fatima is doing her best to win Afzal as well as his kids over & slowly & steadily she is succeeding. Even though things have not changed drastically between Afzal & Fatima but the fact that Afzal now feels guilty after mistreating Fatima is basically a step in the right direction because Fatima deserves her share of happiness too.
I felt that this episode had more of a soundtrack & very less dialogues because more than half of the episode covered the emotions & feelings of all the characters which did get a tad bit boring. Well, despite not wanting to, Farhat got married & Tamkinat’s sister tried to make things work between Azhar & Tamkinat but things didn’t go according to her plan. Salma continued to be annoying but then whatelse can be expected from her? The moment Fatima said you should have informed before coming, Salma made sure to switch her nand mode on & remind Fatima that she could barge into Afzal’s home anytime she wanted. How typically & politically nand can she be?
Closing Thoughts – Interesting Change of Dynamics:
Overall, this episode of Dil Mom Ka Diya was definitely interesting because in such a later stage of the story, we got to see a new character which is not only interesting but has changed the dynamics of the story as well. Even though Fatima’s character does not have that spark, Tipu definitely compensates for that. I am definitely looking forward to what more Tipu has in store for Ulfat. Baba Jani Episode 12 Story Review – This was one of the best episodes of Baba Jani since it had many pleasant surprises in store. Asfand continues to impress and like many other episodes, this one too had some unpredictable developments. Asfand’s character and the way he protects his wife has always been and still is the most refreshing element of this drama. Whenever you start doubting if Asfand would be able to do justice to Sadia and Nimra, whether he will be able to fulfill his commitment and promise, he proves you wrong.
Nabila Is Out Of The Picture
I was expecting Nabila to be around for longer and it was good to see her supporting Sadia and Nimra, the way she did but Nabila’s sudden departure came as a complete surprise. Through this entire development, I am guessing, that the writer showed that even in such a difficult situation Asfand did not let Sadia down. The scene which covered Nabila and Sadia’s conversation after which Nabila took the medicine was confusing since it did not cover whether Nabila took the medicine herself or Sadia gave it to her. Sadia clearly told Nabila that she did not know much about medication and that she should see for herself which medicine she wanted yet later on Nabila said that Sadia gave her the medicine. Although, the way Asfand dealt with this entire situation was very pleasing indeed, it was difficult to understand why Nabila was lying. Sadia too held herself partially responsible therefore it was important that this scene should have been covered in more detail.
Declaration Of Love
The misunderstanding because of which Sadia had been feeling insecure and inferior was finally cleared tonight. This was a great episode in terms of Sadia and Asfand’s relationship in particular. The way these two bonded and the manner in which Sadia went from feeling sorry for herself to feeling more confident than ever was covered beautifully. The way these two declared their love for each other was the highlight of this episode. The best part of this track is that you don’t feel that Asfand is doing Sadia a favour or that he is contributing more to this relationship than her. Asfand and Sadia both complete each other in a wonderful way. Asfand also needed a loyal and loving person like Sadia in his life just as much as Sadia needed Asfand love and support. That’s the beauty of their relationship and the script that although Asfand’s character is one in a million but the writer has written Sadia’s character in such a way that you never feel sorry for her. Even when she was feeling for herself today, it was easy to connect to her character without seeing her as a ‘bechari’. She has a dignified and strong personality because of which she too is her husband’s support. The way both these characters have been translated on screen definitely is another reason why they are so likable and easy to connect to. Faysal Qureshi and Savera Nadeem both have translated these characters superbly on screen. They also share great on-screen chemistry because of which Asfand and Sadia have made for each other written all over them.
Nimra’s Growing Respect For Asfand
Although Nimra is still confused and she is trying to find her place in her new house and these new relationships but few of the scenes tonight clearly showed that Nimra’s opinion about Asfand had changed. She likes the way he cares for her mother more than anything else and she is intelligent enough to know that this man will not let them down. Although, like any other teenager, she is impulsive and does not agree with a lot of things, she also has a tough time dealing with all these new relationships, but Nimra’s character for the most part been positive. She is receptive as well as sensitive and does not play mind games like Asfand’s sister. Madiha Imam’s performance throughout has been impressive. She knows how to underplay a character and at the same time make it shine on screen.
Overall Impression
This episode had so much to offer and the way Asfand is trying his best to keep his promise continues to be the best part of this drama. The preview of the next episode showed Asfand reassuring Nimra that she belonged in this house and in his life probably more than Sadia did. Looking forward to this conversation in particular.

Saba Qamar is one of the best talents of Pakistan. She has made Pakistan proud on every platform she has represented her country. At the same time, Saba Qamar is a very good daughter and has always loved her family and been a pillar for them being the strong woman she is. It was a hard time for Saba Qamar as her mother is unwell and has been hospitalized. Saba, however, is still stronger than ever and is smiling to make her mother feel better and recover quickly. Saba sure has some great friends in the industry too. Her friends and actresses Uzma Khan and Kiran Haq were also there and were the rocks for Saba Qamar.
