Mahira Khan’s Bollywood debut film Raees is set to release internationally on January 25, 2017, though the date of release in Pakistan is still unknown. Mahira couldn’t promote her film in India due to the ban on Pakistani artists by IMPPA but is leaving no stone unturned to promote her upcoming flick in Dubai.
The actor recently gave an interview to Khaleej Times.
How does it feel to finally promote your debut Bollywood film?
I am really excited and nervous as well. I am very grateful that I got to work with Shah Rukh for several reasons. He is someone who is such a big star. He is so hard working that it is unbelievable and I have taken that back home with me. I have learnt that the bigger you are, the harder you have to work.
Do you have a strong role in the movie because back in Pakistan, you have always done hard hitting roles and never limited yourself as a prop?
I actually believe there is no such things as a prop. I think even if you have five minutes in a film – it could be a dance or a line in a scene – as long as you do it with honesty, you will shine. When I got the first call for Raees, I was numb and I did not know how to react. Because it was too quick. I didn’t know anybody in Bollywood. I have never given my portfolio or met anyone, so it was very random. Someone saw my work, called for an audition and then said, come. All of this happened within a matter of a week. I couldn’t digest it then and I am not able to understand it even now. My character is that of a strong woman who is in love. She is kind and Raees’s (played by SRK) conscience. She is the lighter side of Raees’s life.
How was it shooting Zaalima?
The making of Zaalima is probably the most fun that I have had on screen. It was a song so it was easier to do. It was a bit tougher for me because we are not used to song and dance in our films even though we do it, but this kind of romance and slow speed was new for me. Zaalima was added at the last minute. I am happy that now I have a romantic song with Shah Rukh Khan. There were a lot of hours of working and we were hardly sleeping. We would sleep for an hour and run back to shoot. But it was fun. The entire cast and crew were chilling together.
Considering the sentiments of Indians and Pakistanis right now, what’s going in your mind?
I would just like to tell everybody to go and watch the film. So many people come together and work hard on a movie. Obviously, politics is not a place I would like to get into at all. I never have, but this is something that everyone talks about and of course, this has affected us. I would love it if we can just be peaceful and it has to happen from both countries. But actors don’t understand these things. We make films in India or Pakistan or any part of the world. When we are put in this situation, we don’t know how to react. All I can say is I do respect another country’s decision, whatever it may be. If there is a ban, I respect it because it’s their government and rules. I would always respect it, just like I respect my own country.
What’s keeping you busy in Pakistan now?
I am doing a film with Shoaib Mansoor who made Khuda Ke Liye. He makes a film every six years. Last movie that he made was my debut film, Bol. Because he takes so much time to write it and that’s why he is very protective about it. I had to beg him to give me the scripts. It is a hard-hitting film.
Mahira Khan won’t be seen with her co-star Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors are staying on separate floors of the same hotel. It is made sure that they are not clicked together, forget about a combined interview, reported Khaleej Times.
Artists and their craze for cosmetic surgery is nothing infamous, we’ve seen many celebrities getting these done to look younger and better. The most common of all are spouts, fillers and Botox, many celebrities are transforming every now and then but there are some of those too who prefer to stay original. Zhalay Sarhadi, the girl with a beautiful face and an amazing physique was the latest one to be labeled with cosmetic surgery
She was sick of getting comments from people and decided to pour her heart out to clear the air. In the Facebook post, she wrote:
“To whomever it may concern. My lips are my own since my birth, no Botox or fillers! Please stop messaging me and bombarding me with hate messages just because I can change myself with makeup!”
“Trust me love my self at the moment and in future if i feel like I need extreme help, I am not adverse tot he idea! Till then diet, exercise and awesome makeup skills are my besties! Cheers,” she added further.

Miss Veet is a platform that features potential and aspiring models who wish to enter the entertainment industry. Miss Veet 2016 wasn’t an ordinary show but actually showed us the journey of transformation from an ordinary girl to a star. Veet in previous years used to groom young girls into confident models, but this time around they promised that the contestants will come out as individuals who can do well in different paths and areas.
The show was hosted by Azfar Rehman. The judges were very famous people of the industry, Amina Sheikh, Ayesha Khan and photographer Tapu Javeri. The girls at this finest platform were mentored by Faiza Ansari.
It all started with the auditions which were held in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. All the girls auditioning were judged on the basis of their looks, confidence and most importantly posture, followed by some IQ related questions. After all the hoopla, final 12 contestants were selected and brought to Sri Lanka for the selection of Miss Veet Pakistan 2016.
There was no sort of high voltage drama or any sorta unnecessary stuff. The contestants weren’t just trained to turn out as super models but they faced many challenges(not just about makeup) but many others things which beauty pageants usually lack to highlight and that’s the reason behind the success of this show.
The girls were to face a different challenge every week, there were contests which were extremely captivating and there were those too which weren’t that interesting but out of all these, the girls overcame their fear through different tasks. The contestants were not just challenged physically but mentally too and were taught about a healthy balanced life style. They were pulled out of their comfort zones with some thrilling and adventurous tasks which made them grow more in terms of personality.

Every episode came up with a unique and different concept. There were challenges of doing makeup in a short span of time, selling brands, proving their theatrical performance, rafting and cliff jumping, organizing an event and even posing for the camera and sometimes with animals too. All these challenges made the girls believe in themselves and rise more.
In the semifinals, each contestant was given a sum of Rs. 50,000 to use in a socially responsible manner for causes in the areas of domestic violence, education, health, women empowerment & old age in alignment with a Social Organization selected by the participant. The final five contestants were judged on their ability to pull off this task on the criteria: creativity, effort, longevity, and reach. The top 3 contenders of Miss Veet were Lara Mudhwala, Zartab Bano and Zainab Raja after Saara Hirji and Fizza Rizvi failed to live up to the expectations and were eliminated by the judges.
The show finally came to an end with a star studded grand finale. The grand finale was a decent event which begin with a pink carpet followed by a performance by the bubbliest Mawra Hocane. Azfar Rehman hosted the whole show in a well manner but didn’t sounded comfortable in the finale, anyways there were many stars present at the event which made the night even more glamorous. Ali Zafar gave a mind blowing performance and the cast of Thora Jee Lee too rocked the stage, but what caught my attention most was the performance by all 12 contestants. I really liked the song they performed on since it was all about woman empowerment. Sara Hijri, one of the 12 contestants missed the ceremony due an avoidable reason.

There were series of awards given to the contestant as follows,
Most confident contestant:Laraib Shaukat Best communication skills:Sameen Rashid Most charming personality:Ramsha Fittest contestant: Sara Hijri
Most intelligent contestant: Samina Khan
Most popular contestant on digital media: Laraib Shaukat
Each finalist was asked a particular question and the results were based on their answers. The show finally concluded as Mawra Hocane crowned Zainab Raja as Miss Veet Pakistan 2016. The winner was promised a one year brand ambassador contract, two return tickets of Oman and London, a million rupees and cover shoot of Hello Pakistan. There was more to the night as it was announced that Miss Veet Academy is here to give an opportunity to every girl in Pakistan to transform into a better personality. All the contestants embarked on a journey of personal transformation, like a pupa turning into a butterfly!
Actors have been transforming lately, first we could’t get over the fact that Fawad Khan gained weight for his upcoming film and now it’s Ahsan Khan who has amazed us with his new look. Ahsan Khan has been associated to the industry for years but shocked us with his mind blowing acting for the role of Paa Imtiaz in particular. He was recently spotted shooting for Amir Adnan Trend 17, and we must say he looks pretty transformed.

Just when the team of this drama had a good opportunity to put an end to everything by showing that Harib saved the day & got married to Aan, the promo of the next episode gave me a panic attack because looks like the hunger for ratings & money didn’t allow Haseeb Hassan to stop & he is going to continue with the torturous drama for may be another 10 or more episodes? How shallow is that & how bizarre too. It is absolutely ridiculous how greed can make a very sane person commit such weird blunders, first Mann Mayal & then Sanam? LOL!
It is funny how you absolutely feel nothing for any character because the predicament that they are facing is a result of their own patheticness & stupidity. I felt zero sympathy for Sara because karma came to bite her back but then again, Sara was a result of writer’s weird imagination where she thought that a married woman even after having a kid can still be in love with her ex-boyfriend. Usually I apologize in advance when I use such words for writers or directors but I think the amount of dhitai Mr. & Mrs. Haseeb have shown, I am not going to be apologetic about anything that I am going to say. Sara’s character is a result of Mona Haseeb’s SICK imagination. It is ridiculous how everyone has lost the plot just because the writer & the director were bent on generating ratings & had no concern with making a drama that provides entertainment for the viewers. The episodes have become absolutely slow & boring & the purpose of the drama (which didn’t have much purpose anyways) is lost!
Faisal blamed Harib for not being able to have a normal relationship with Sara but then again, Sara left Harib for everything that Faisal had, so why was she unhappy with him? To be honest, I wasn’t in a mood to see a happy reunion of Sara & Faisal because it wouldn’t have made sense but yes, it is good to know that Fatima will now live with her father, away from a mother like Sara who I repeat, is a result of writer’s sick imagination because honestly, no matter how shallow or selfish a woman is, she changes completely when she becomes a mother but if only the writer had a ounce of decency left in her, she would have understood!
Aan Dulhan se ziyada sona to Amman ne charhaya hua tha. Anyways, Shabnam kept on waiting for the Baraat, only to know ke unki apni baraat next episode mai rukhsat ho jayegi. I can’t imagine the prowess the director & the writer have where they can turn a favorite character into a nightmare. I remember the episodes when I used to enjoy Shabnam’s scenes so much & she was my favorite character out of this bipolar lot because she seemed like a true mother to me, but the way her character has been turned into a nightmare is sickening. I so wanted to feel bad for her & what she was going through but I couldn’t because to be honest, she invited this herself. Shabnam, despite seeing how Aan wasn’t happy about this entire situation kept on pushing her luck & she didn’t sit still till she got a heart attack, so let me ask my patent question in Punjabi ‘hun araam ee’?!? Weird!!!
Once again, Harib & his constipated bechargi on his face. ‘Aik dafa Amaan theek ho jayein dekhna mai un logon ka kya hashar karoonga’…alay lay lay lay, tum bas anday parathay khao, itni bali bali batain kaltay hue tum achay nai lagtayyy!!! I am sure anday parathay khatay khatay muh mai ulcers ho gaye honge isi liye Harib muh mai dahi jama ke beth gaya takay thandak bhi mile aur sachai bhi na batani pare. Like what was he waiting for? Like what majboori did he have? Like Aan said, aj nahi to kal Amaan ne jana hi tha, so at least till she was alive, Harib could have told her & could’ve gotten married to Aan in front of her but then again, is episode tak writer aur director ki pockets nahi bhari hongi na isi liye! It is funny how the writer has made Harib the center of everyone’s universe without him having any attraction. He is a loser who can’t do anything, can’t think straight & just can not handle the situation like a man, still we have women drooling over him including the seedhi saadhi bholi bhaali Aan!
Aan said ‘hum log itnay seedhay kyu hain’, which made me say exactly, we as viewers should be saying the same thing like ‘hum viewers itney seedhay kyu hain (jo aisay dhokay mai aa gaye)’. I think after Samira Fazal, Haseeb Hassan has earned a spot in that list too where people would be screening his dramas & if they will decide to watch it, they will be very skeptical about it! The preview of the next episode made me laugh & cringe at the same time. Shabnam’s done making Anda Parathas & now looks like Khurram will try to get married to Aan. Aan’s Taya will ask her but I am sure being a patient of asthma, Aan won’t be able to say that she would like to get married to Harib. Bas bhai wohi baat hai, jab tak 10 talaqain, 20 halalay nahi honge, ye drama end nahi hoga aur Harib Aan ka millan nahi hoga. Shame on you Mr. & Mrs. Haseeb for giving out such a pathetic drama to the viewers! Please share your thoughts about this pathetic episode of Sanam & also Maya, stop crying because you can’t act out emotional scenes!!!

Molestation has been a rising issue in our country, girls at public places are becoming a prey to all this. The recent case was of Atif Aslam stopping mid concert and rescuing a girl from being molested, his courageous act was reported not just locally but Internationally too and his fans praised him for his respectful gesture .
However, the boy who has been accused of molesting the girl, has reportedly revealed his side of story and according to him, he is the actual victim here. Talking to Daily Pakistan on condition of anonymity the boy, a student of IBA, stated that he was one of the people entrusted with ensuring security at the event. “My job was to ensure that nobody crosses over from the non-VIP section to the VIP section without a valid ticket.” (Daily Pakistan has also verified his story and confirmed that he was indeed a part of the security team at the concert)
“I saw two girls accompanied by a guy crossing over from the non-VIP section and forcing their way to the front row, like a lot of other people were also doing. There was a lot of rush in the front of the stage and these people were continuing to push through. I confronted these people and politely asked them to either show their VIP pass or go back to their own section, which they refused. That is when these girls started getting violent. They started scratching at my neck and face with their long nails, they slapped me on the face, punched me and incited a whole mob against me.”
“It was exactly at this point when these girls were scratching at my face violently and the boy who accompanied them was punching my face and kicking me, Atif Aslam saw us.”
“Instead of trying to understand the real story, Atif Aslam blamed me, the actual victim. Nobody listens to men in our society especially when a woman has said anything against him – it doesn’t matter true or false. When Atif Aslam said ‘rescue these girls,’ everyone thought I was molesting them and a huge mob started beating me up for no reason. I have never been beaten so badly in my entire life, and that too for just doing my job.”
“Those girls were not the victims, they were vicious, violent and rude. Because of them I have scars on my face and neck that will stay with me forever. I was traumatized and everyone has refused to listen to me or understand my side of the story.”
The news report also reveals that IBA has already started the investigation regarding the matter and people accountable will soon be brought to book!
Music composer and singer Shiraz Uppal who is popular for songs like Roya re, Bin Roye and 3 Bahadur has amazed us yet again with his commendable voice. He released a cover of ‘The Thousand years’ originally sung by Christina perri for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and we must say he could do justice to the all time successful song as he did it in his own style which is soft and beautiful. We couldn’t help but fall in love with his remarkable voice.
No one can deny the fact that even nowadays when there is abundance of Pakistani dramas and private channels which air these dramas, most of the scripts still revolve around love stories. While there are few writers who managed to break free from clichés and gave their viewers love stories and characters which were not stereotypical, there were many more who relied heavily on the usual formulas which were a product of clichés. Every love story should technically be somewhat different but when the writers start banking on ideas which already exist in the hope that the viewers will find it easier to connect to them as opposed to something new, because of which sometimes it results in the form of dramas which are neither unique nor entertaining. These love stories have done-to-death written all over them which kills half of the fun and sadly, we see an influx of these cliché-ridden love stories despite the strong objection of the viewers against them.
We have compiled a list of clichés our drama writers used excessively in love stories of recent times. These are shortcuts which make everyone’s jobs easier. The writer does not have to do a lot of thinking, the producers stick to the formula and gets the TRPs he wants and the actors don’t have to put in a lot of effort into these done-to-death scenes. Our drama makers have used these clichés with so much confidence that it makes you wonder if they live in a world different from ours in which all “love” stories are the same!
Love At First Sight!
That one scene in which the hero looks at the heroine and falls in love instantly is part of every other love story. This scene is usually shown in slow motion with the OST playing in the background! Sometimes this feeling is mutual and at other times it is the man alone who falls in love with his khawabon ki shehzadi! Our writers have used falling in love at first sight with someone as a convenient option in order to avoid developing a strong bond between the leads gradually. This is usually the most convenient way to start a love story!
Class Difference
Class difference is very often used in love stories to take the story forward sometimes to create a yeh shadi nahi ho sakti scenario and at other times to make the heroine or hero’s life hell after marriage. Some of our writers strongly believe that two people who come from different financial backgrounds can live a problem free life together! Also, sometimes the only reason why every other girl wants the hero is that he is rich!
The Way To A Man’s Heart Is Through His Stomach
Yes! This is the most annoying one because watching these intelligent and enlightened men falling for women only because they can make perfectly gol rotis makes you wonder how all the women in the world who cannot cook find men who love them for who they are. Also, in almost every other drama, this aspect is emphasized upon the most that the girl who puts an effort into cooking can win a man effortlessly, irrespective of him being single, married or divorced!
Men Can Be Forgiven For Everything
We have seen men treating the women in their lives like trash in our dramas but these women continue “loving” them unconditionally. Even if a woman leaves the man who mistreats her and cheats on her, all it takes is an apology and most often he is forgiven for everything. Not only this but a man never pays for his mistakes in our dramas, the way a woman does.
Slap Is The Only Way To Tame Your Beloved
The couples who get married after falling in love each other often reach a breaking point where it becomes necessary for a husband to slap his wife while conveniently forgetting that in stead of using his hand so callously he also had an access to logic and wordings with which he could’ve conveyed his message. It is ironic that these days, no love stories are free from domestic violence, which force the viewers to think if there ever was ‘love’ to begin with between this star-crossed couple?
Second Wife Is Positive Polly While First Wife is Negative Nancy
We have come across so many ‘love’ stories where a man happily or sadly married feels the need to get married again and the moment he signs his Nikkah papers with his second wife, he starts seeing all the things that were missing in his first wife. The writers make sure to develop the character of the first wife in such a way where the viewers are convinced that the ‘hero’ made the right choice by cheating on his wife and by choosing to get remarried.
Clothing Is Directly Proportional To a Girl’s Character
In love stories, the writers make sure to show that the girl clad in jeans has to be a negative character because it represents a girl who is modern, has no morality or ethics because she chooses to be different and doesn’t conform to the normal and ‘modest’ dress code chosen by the society.
Dupatta Acts Like a Leash To Pull The Hero
In our dramas, Dupattas and Shalwar Kameez are left for dukhyari bibis who only wrap the dupattas around their body and a scarf on their head till they land themselves a man of their dreams and just when that happens, we see a drastic change in the dupatta positioning on the body, where most of the times, the dupatta is thrown out of the window as if it never really existed in dukhyari bibi’s wardrobe!
Makeup Is Not For Good Girls
Mostly, a sharp winged eyeliner acts as a knife which tells how the girl wearing it is ready to kill everyone. Excessive makeup is used to portray that the girl has no self-control and is rebellious. On the other hand, the simpletons with neatly braided hair and 10 kgs of white wash acting as a fake noor on the face depicts that this particular girl is seedhi saadhi masoom bholi bhaali larki and the guy has to fall for her and not for the girl with a fiercely winged eyeliner!
Boyfriend Is Always Better Than A Husband
We often come across such couples who get married after falling in love but to add more twists to the story or in short, in order to generate more TRP’s, the same boyfriend-turned-husband ends up becoming intolerable for the girl who was just a few days ago head over heels in love with him. The love is thrown out of the window and they bicker over petty little issues because that’s all there’s left for the writers to write about and the directors to show to us.
Unfaithfulness After Marriage Is a Must
It is not a secret anymore how the writers have mocked the sacred union called marriage and that is why, the best they come up with is to show how easy it is to fall out of love and the promise that you have just made to your partner and similarly, how easy it is to cheat on your spouse. It is sickening to see how the writers glorify insincerity and make it look like it is such an important part of one’s life and is one such adventure that everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
Bechara/Bechari Is Your Mr./Ms. Right
One such character who is the most bechara or the most bechari in a drama has to be sympathized with to an extent that one must fall in love with him/her because they are your perfect match. It doesn’t matter if they have a personality or not, it doesn’t matter if they have sensibility or not, it doesn’t matter if they have common sense or not, just because they have one trait which is ‘bechargi’, you ought to fall for them!
Heart Attack Acts As a Game Changer (Read Marriage Maker)
This has to be one such cliché which the writers rely heavily upon in almost all the love stories because they use someone’s ailing health as a plot twister to add the most unconvincing turn of events in the drama and also to drag the story further because everything comes to a halt when someone is acting to be on the death bed till they achieve what they want. A lot of times we have seen that if a mother wants her daughter to get married to a man she has chosen for her, she gets a heart-attack, if parents want their daughters to stay in an abusive marital relationship, they get a heart-attack & if the drama is at the brink of an ending, someone gets a heart attack in order to stretch the story further.
So, this is the list of clichés that we picked up which fill up all the love stories that are being shown to us in our dramas these days. It is ironic that the writers choose to revolve the love stories around these particular clichés making us wonder what has happened to their creativity or if they had any in the first place. Please feel free to add more clichés that you have noticed in the comments section below.
It’s a big news for Mahira Khan and her fans out there because according to a trade site, Box Office Detail, Raees is set to get a wide release in Pakistan. We might get to see our diva on local screens since latest reports suggest that Indian films have been cleared and will release in Pakistan; the latest one to release will be Hritik Roshan’s Kaabil and Mahira Khan’s Raees.
As per Box Office Detail, the release dates of Kaabil and Raees will be announced on Tuesday and a big news is to be announced on Monday(today).
For All Those Asking, Indian films are cleared To Release In Pakistan by Govt. Release Dates Of #Kaabil and #Raees will be known on Tuesday.
Pakistani cinema owners and the industry has been going through severe losses after imposing ban on Indian films and even though the suspension was lifted few weeks back the NOC issue has held back release of new films. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had recently formed a committee to release Indian films in Pakistan and seems like it has got the job done and the NOC issue might have been solved.
I am certain that this episode contained more scenes from the film which is why it had the same feel as the first episode. So, this drama started with the scenes from the movie and ended with them too, all of these scenes were visually far more appealing and well knitted than the drama as a whole, which basically proves that a lot more effort went into making the film than the drama. This ending could have been far better if Irtiza was not shown after Saba got the phone call, that would have kept the suspense alive and the viewers could have connected to Saba’s feelings even more. Mahira Khan and Hamayun Saeed saved the day yet again by making the viewers connect to their scenes even though some of the dialogues and conversations (especially Irtiza’s “confession” in the end) weren’t as powerful or convincing as one would have hoped for them to be. Just like every other dramatic climax in this drama, this ending too was rushed.
I am certain that I wasn’t the only one who was waiting for Bin Roye to go on air for the longest time now primarily because of the big names attached to this serial and of course because of the hype as well. Bin Roye started off on a good note and promised to be an emotional drama but very soon due to the pace of the drama, script which lacked clarity and did not have the details which were necessary, weak direction and choppy editing made Bin Roye one of the biggest disappointments of this season. Mahira Khan and Hamayun Saeed’s chemistry made few of the episodes bearable and even entertaining, apart from that Bin Roye lacked the dramatic peaks which were necessary for keeping the viewers looking forward to more. Mahira Khan gave an outstanding performance throughout and because of her Saba for the longest time was the only character which kept my interest alive. Although the drama as a whole wasn’t fast paced but even then a lot of important developments were rushed and consequently unconvincing. There were many episodes in which the focus wasn’t entirely on situations which could have added something more tangible to the story and details which the viewers wanted to see were left out completely.
One thing which truly stood out like a sore thumb throughout the drama was the fact that although Saba was supposed to be the ladli beti of the house yet her parents were never shown treating her like she was very dear to them. Also, it was quite obvious that Javaid Sheikh and Zeba Bakhtiar might have fulfilled their commitment vis a vis Bin Roye the film but were probably not around when the shooting for the drama was taking place. I am guessing that is the reason why they were missing from some extremely important scenes and scenarios.
Accidents were used in Bin Roye to add twists to the story which changed its course completely. Saman’s parents’ accident was the reason why she moved in with her real parents and entered Irtiza’s life, Saman’s death was due to an accident too and now in the end the reason for Irtiza and Saba’s happy ending was also an accident!
I would like to thank all those readers who followed the reviews and shared their thoughts here every week. Don’t forget to share your thoughts about this last episode.
Besides appearing in movies and television shows, Shamoon Abbasi these days is quite enthusiastic about his short film series ‘6 da pack’. Third film from the series released today, the short film named Mey Rahungi, depicts the strength of the women in the world. The film stars Sherry Shah and Saleem Mairaj in lead roles. Here it is, a strong woman narrating her story as she goes through life threatening events.
Shamoon Abbasi is making these short and inexpensive films in collaboration with Reachout Films and Film Foundation. The third short film is directed and written by Shamoon Abbasi where as produced by Sherry Shah. Shamoon’s aim to highlight some of the taboos of our society are clearly seen in his films as he’s spreading powerful messages through art.
Meera who in recent past has issued many statements against Mahira Khan has now demanded a ban on the Bollywood film Raees in Pakistan. Raess, a Bollywood film starring Shahrukh Khan and Mahira Khan is releasing worldwide on 25th January 2017.
The release of Raees is not certain in Pakistan however the distributor and exhibitors trying hard to get the Non Objection Certificate (NOC) from the federal government required to import any foreign film.
Meera in recent past has criticized the media industry for ignoring the senior artists of films in dramas and advertisements. Mahira Khan who these days has endorsed many brands is in particular criticized by Meera.

Actor Vikas Verma, who plays the negative lead in the film, confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, they (Sajal and Adnan) are required for the final scenes and have finally got a visa for a month to complete the shoot. It’s a very important scene and we have been looking forward to film.”
Mom is an upcoming Indian drama film, directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi. Sajal Ali and Adnan Sidiqui will be essaying the role of Sridevi’s stepdaughter and husband in the film.
There were rumors that coke studio debutante, Momina Mustehsan and her fiancé have broken up their engagement after almost four months. Fans of the popular singer were already rejoicing since their sensation was believed to be single but neither Momina nor Ali Naqvi confirmed the news.
After all the hoopla, Momina decided to speak up, she slammed all the websites and social media pages for publishing false news’.
In an Instagram post, she writes; “I have a personal life that I have every right to keep to myself. Please don’t turn it into a joke and a source of entertainment”.
She urges the news websites and social media pages to take down articles that have been spreading rumors about her personal life and adds, “If there is something that needs to be shared with the world, I’ll make the announcement myself. Please stop spreading stories based on guesswork, especially when they are none of your business.”
She urged the publishers to stop selling her personal life for business, “I’d appreciate if these so-called news pages remove these stupid articles they’ve been circulating. Please stop selling my personal life for clicks and views.”
After Yasra Rizvi, an innocent college going girl had become the latest recipient of social media hate. It wasn’t long ago when we heard of a girl who was trolled for quoting the one-liner out of context. Social media police didn’t took long to troll her in every possible way, and there were news of the girl not attending her college anymore due to embarrassment.
The Oye kuch kar guzar actress Ushna Shah has a video message for the girl who was trolled and gave a befitting reply to all the trolls. In a video, Ushna retained that she was shocked to learn that the said girl was thinking of committing suicide and went on to say that those who were making fun of the girl were actually exposing their insecurities and repeating what British rulers used to do with our ancestors for not knowing their language properly.

There were rumors of the girl thinking to commit suicide and leaving college. However, recent reports suggest that the girl’s teacher clarified that she was fine and would be expressing her viewpoint in a television show soon.
…& the awesomeness prevails. Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat has done it again, this was another beautiful episode that kept my eyes glued to the screen because of such awesome, convincing & power-packed performances. I will admit that this episode had a slow start but then the note at which it ended made it justified because everything fell at a right place & the build up was necessary. This episode flowed like a crescendo, it slowly & steadily took us through Hammad’s journey; from his anticipation, to his moment of glory, to his disbelief & in the end his heart-wrenching breakdown. Everything was woven beautifully & I had a great time watching it. I think apart from a great direction, it is solely Hammad’s character & Imran Abbas’s acting that has elevated the level of this drama. Even though it is a combined effort & for sure each & every single person associated with this team on & off camera deserves recognition & praises but Imran Abbas deserves a standing ovation for such a perfect portrayal & for being such a convincing focal point of this drama.
The day finally came & Imaan literally had to mentally prepare herself to meet Hammad because she knew how important it was & even she realized that to put her aching heart to rest, she’d have to do this. Imaan had so many inhibitions, she had so many reasons not to do anything of this sort but just because the exchange of a few words through Hammad’s letter was just so overwhelmingly convincing for her, she deliberately ended up giving in. Even though Haya helped Imaan in putting things to perspective, but in the end, it was Imaan & her will power to do right by Hammad, which compelled her to do something which she never would’ve imagined she’d do & that was, meeting Hammad personally & having a conversation with him. Imaan has always made sure to spend her entire life the way her father wants her to, she also has seen how much her father has suffered & Molvi Aleemuddin means the world to her but deep down, even she couldn’t resist the power of Hammad’s love because she understood how strong, how pure it was & how much attraction it had, which basically was a result of his pure intentions.
Even though Abdullah is going to get married to the one he has loved all his life, but the way even he seems uncomfortable & lost in his thoughts goes to show that Hammad’s emotions have not only affected Imaan but they have affected Abdullah too because somehow he feels everything that is happening isn’t right. Even though Abdullah has loved Imaan but he has seen the intensity with which Hammad has loved her & because of that Abdullah thinks he is betraying Hammad by crushing his dream of getting married to Imaan. It actually goes to show that the truthfulness of Hammad’s love for Imaan has forced everyone to do some thinking, be it those people around Hammad or those who’re around Imaan but sadly, the one who chooses to stay conveniently indifferent is Molvi Aleemuddin. He is just as rigid as a tyrant who loves to dictate people to save his own pride!!!
Finally, the magical moment arrived in Hammad’s life when he got to know that Imaan came to meet him. That entire scene was just so beautiful & special because both Hammad & Imaan’s perspectives were made clear & their emotions were channeled. Hammad lived through that moment & he experienced so many emotions, where at first he couldn’t believe that he was seeing Imaan & that she made an effort to meet him, then Hammad started absorbing everything that she was saying, trying to understand her point of view while still being hopeful that may be she will accept his love & then in the end, after getting to know that this was probably the last time he will ever see her, he ended up not taking his eyes off her as if he was trying to encapsulate her image in his eyes for the rest of his life. It was beautiful & it was magical. For Imaan, the guilt of Hammad torturing himself was overwhelming, because of which she couldn’t stop her tears. I loved how Imaan while still respecting & acknowledging Hammad’s feelings ended up telling him what she wants him to do & how he should stop punishing himself. Imaan knew this was probably the first & the last time she was getting a chance to pour her heart out in front of Hammad, that is why she told him about how she was raised, basically trying to clear off her father’s name as even she felt that he was the reason why Hammad was pushing himself to the limit. Imaan ended up acknowledging Hammad’s love & in a very subtle manner, she confessed about how his love was affecting her & how she wished or prayed that may be in Afterlife, she will get to be with Hammad as she knew how pure his love for her was. The way Hammad was trying to process everything that Imaan said & in the end getting disappointed at what destiny had in store for him, was absolutely heart-breaking. Throughout this journey, Hammad did feel helpless at times but he never lost hope but this was the first time when Hammad ended up losing hope as he heard it from Imaan personally that she couldn’t do anything & expected him to return to his family. Imaan ended up returning those pearls to Hammad because she knew what they meant to him & this was her way of bidding farewell to Hammad, while still having his love in her heart too.
Hammad had a breakdown because he realized that the answer to his request was a clear cut no. Hammad for the first time not only felt helpless but hopeless too as this time around, it was Imaan who gave him that answer. All this while, Hammad still wished, prayed & imagined that may be things will change, may be Molvi Aleemuddin will change but now, his fears were confirmed that nothing was going to change & he will have to live his life without Imaan & that burden was just so overbearing that Hammad lost control of his emotions. This was for the first time that Hammad questioned his fate, his destiny & everything that was around him because the answer to all his prayers was unfortunately a no, sigh!
This episode was absolutely beautiful. Despite having a slow beginning, this episode ended at such a high note. Sadia Khan nailed her performance & she was very convincing as Imaan, her dialogue delivery, her expressions, the sadness in her eyes & disappointment on her face knowing that she was hurting Hammad’s feelings – everything was on-point. The direction of this episode was simple but done in a way to leave an impact. This episode like all the other episodes also had one such moment which made me shed a tear & that was when Imaan on her way out turns & looks back at Hammad & they both probably see each other for the last time. The song was used perfectly at that point & it enhanced the charm & beauty of that scene. To be honest, I have never loathed Molvi Aleemuddin as much as I did in this episode, seeing him acting as an overly concerned father made me loathe him so much because he had no idea how much he was making a harmless guy like Hammad suffer. This goes to show how convincing Firdous Jamal’s acting as Molvi Aleemuddin is. Now coming to the star of not only this episode but this entire show, Imran Abbas, he perfectly portrayed the emotional transition of Hammad, where he went through so much & experienced so many emotions, it was actually like a roller-coaster ride & thrilling one at that because Imran Abbas acted his heart & soul out to make us viewers feel for Hammad & fall in love with his character. Thank you for such level of dedication & perfection! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
PS: In the era of 1020p videos, GEO TV has taken a duty to serve as a reminiscent of good old times when 480p was considered to be the highest quality, lol. Kaunsay zamanay ke hain app log?
Loved the beautiful and positive dialogues in tonight’s episode, those poignant conversations and all those amazing messages which put things in perspective were a treat to watch. Mahi’s conversation with Noor in particular was right on point. The writer did a splendid job of penning down those dialogues which covered all aspects which were necessary to calm Noor down and give him the strength to go on. Mahi assured Noor of her support, gave him the freedom to choose whether he wanted to live his life as a girl or a boy and also explained to him that there was nothing wrong with him but those people who made him feel like he wasn’t good enough were at fault. This was not just something which a mother said to her child but also an extremely positive and poignant message which is the need of the hour. There are so many people in our society who judge these people, fear them and even hate them. Noor’s reaction to all the positive energy he got from his mother was reflected through everything he said not to his mother in private but confidently in front of every one. This was a truly emotional scene which showed how love and acceptance can change things around. The viewers needed to see more such scenes between Noor and Mahi in the previous episodes as well. The fact that Mikael did not get a lot of screen time in this episode also helped. Noor and Mahi were the centre of attention in tonight’s episode which showed Mahi’s efforts had paid off.
Mahi’s conversation with her mother at the beginning of the episode made the entire situation easier to connect to. This wasn’t an easy situation for Mahi to handle but just like always she managed to muster up the courage to deal with it with the help of her mother. Mahi’s mother is another positive character in this drama, one which we do not see in our dramas very often. She is a role model, she has always supported her daughter and at the same time she is sensitive and accepts her vulnerabilities. Saba Hameed once again has given a phenomenal performance which convinces the viewers that no one could have played this role better than her.
After so many years Arshi decided to let Sanam visit her house but did not accept her whole heartedly. After a long time Arshi’s character was bearable because she did not get a lot of screen time and there was enough positivity in this episode to ignore Arshi’s negative attitude. Arshi has always been controlling and now Kashmala is another controlling person in the house who treats her husband exactly the way Arshi treats her husband. I have to say however that H’s attitude towards his wife is another positive aspect of this drama. He points out whenever he feels that she is not being fair but at the same time he accepts and loves her with all her flaws. It is definitely extremely refreshing watching a man like him accept someone like Arshi without making it look like she does not deserve his love. He has also been there for him when she needed him to support her even when he did not agree with her.
While his father handled and accepted a woman like Arshi quite well because he loved her, Zain is unable to do the same with Kashmala because he never loved her like that. The only scene in tonight’s episode which seemed somewhat out of place was the one in which Zahir calls Sanam to tell her that her mother needed a surgery. It appeared to be an important scene but apparently it was just another conversation. Also, although I liked the fact that this episode focused on Mahi and Noor but Mikael should have been shown interacting with Noor at least once since he was around all the time in the previous few episodes. Also, while Noor was all grown up, Zain and Kashmala did not age at all.
This episode also had some impressive and mature performances to its credit which made all these emotional scenes a treat to watch. It is great watching Aisha Khan outshine in this role. Adnan Shah Tipu is another actor who never ceases to impress and Mariam Saleem is one of those newcomers who is bound to go places.
I loved watching this episode of Khuda Mera Bhi Hai and am anxiously waiting for the next episode. The preview of the next episode showed that Zain still hadn’t accepted his child and Noor questioned his grandmother about his father. I would love to see him meeting his father so that Zain knows how well Mahi did and what he missed out on!

Unfortunately our television producers have been banking on women who continuously shed tears in dramas for a really long time in order to get ratings. Many of the actresses have accepted openly that they get paid for crying, there are others who think it is their USP and there are also those producers who have no qualms accepting the fact that making women cry gets them the ratings they want.
Since this tried and tested formula sold many dramas, now some of the producers have started using the same tactic in morning shows as well. All over the world morning shows are motivating and inspiring because many people begin their day with watching these shows. In Pakistan however our script writers, whether they are writing script for a drama or for a morning show, are quite convinced that making people cry early in the morning can be just as beneficial for the viewers as it is at night (pun intended!).
A host does not necessarily have to be an actor because hosting is a completely different skill which should technically not involve acting but all the morning show hosts nowadays are actors tuned into hosts hence they make the most of their acting skills in morning shows as well. These women who we have seen crying in dramas so often are now using the same “skill” in morning shows as well in the hope that all those women who are sitting at home and watching their shows will think about how miserable their lives are and they will be able to relate to all the melodrama! In my opinion these actresses-hosts are not doing anyone a favor.
In some of the videos which are circulating on the web nowadays actress Sidra Batool was invited by Sadia Imam solely because she wanted to bid farewell to her before she got married like she was going on a war! While marriage is an emotional time for a woman, the fact is that most girls like getting married and enjoy their ceremony as well. When will we stop promoting these clichés which make girls look like a qurbani ka bakra?
I have heard that in remote villages when someone dies there are women who go to that house and wail irrespective of whether they know that person or not. Honestly speaking, some of our modern and educated morning show hosts nowadays are practicing the same behavior on live television every other morning. The background score and the entire “script” is meant to make the environment gloomy because somehow the content heads of these shows strongly believe that the viewers love to see women cry!
The saddest part is that apart from these staged sob-fests even when there is a tragedy, there are hosts who ask the victims’ families questions which are designed to make them even more emotional. When they finally start crying, the camera zooms in which is highly inappropriate and which also goes to prove that these people are not invited to the shows so that the hosts can help them get through this tragedy but only to get ratings at the expense of their tears. The people responsible really should know better than to make a mockery out of people’s tragedies.
How many people would much rather start their day with something that makes them smile or is inspiring instead of watching men and women cry on screen? Don’t you think it is highly inappropriate that our media openly shows its insensitivity towards people’s real problems by using their tears for TRPs?
Entertainment industries all over the world are somehow complicated, there are stars who are friends and there are those too who are rivals. Ali Zafar and Shaan both are one of the most popular stars of Pakistan but their public feud was nothing infamous.
For those who don’t know, At Ary Film Awards 2014, Shaan openly criticized Pakistani artistes who cross the border to be a part of Bollywood ventures, calling them “cheap sell-outs.” He blamed local celebrities for making Bollywood a stairway to their success.
While the audience, which included stars such as Javed Sheikh and Zeba Bakhtiar, was taken aback by Shaan’s comments, it was singer-actor Ali Zafar who answered him back as he received the award for ‘International Icon of the Year’. Ali mentioned how it was disrespectful of Shaan to blame the artistes as sell-outs and gave his definition of patriotism.
Since then, there had been no public interaction between, and apparently they were captured jamming to a friendship anthem. Ali Zafar was singing “yeh dosti hum naheen choreingay” while Shaan played the guitar and we’re glad to see these stars together!
The shooting of upcoming drama Laikin has already begun. Laikin is directed by Furqan T. Siddiqui and written by Sarwat Nazir. The assistant director is Moiz Siddiqui anthe producer is IQbal Ansari. The drama stars Indian actor Sara Khan and Farhan Malhi in the lead role while Nasreen Qureshi, Atiqa Odho, Firdous Jamal will be seen playing pivotal roles. The drama is expected to go on air by late March or early April on APlus.
The singing sensation and lead vocalist of the Pop Rock band SYMT Haroon Shahid is speculated to star opposite Mahira Khan in Shoaib Mansoor’s upcoming film ‘Verna’.
If rumours are to be believed, Haroon will be essaying the lead role of potential blockbuster Verna. It is also being said that he will be composing and singing songs for the film too. However, there have been no official confirmation regarding the news.
Haroon is mainly famous for his 2 songs for Coke Studio season 5, Tum Kaho and Koi Labda and Laung Gawacha in Coke Studio season 9.
Verna will be ace writer Shoaib Mansoor’s second film dealing with woman issues, he’s famous for writing strong scripts and is credited for the revival of Pakistani cinema. The film is expected to release in 2017.
Mahira Khan’s upcoming Bollywood debut film Raees is set to hit the cinema globally on January 25, 2017. Though we still don’t know if the film will release in Pakistan or not but the expectations are held high. Raees was under threat in India and MNS will only let it have a safe release on the condition that Mahira wouldn’t fly to India for the promotions which is devastating for the diva since she can’t promote her film.
Well, recent reports suggest that Mahira might join the lead, Shah Rukh Khan to promote their upcoming flick in Dubai across the malls and public places.
According to DNA India, the buzz is, it was SRK’s decision to kick off the promotions in the UAE before heading for the India tour. A source informs that Mahira was spotted at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates a couple of days ago, while another adds, “Mahira will join Shah Rukh and Rahul at the Bollywood Amusement Park in Dubai. Over the two-day promotional schedule, they will also visit malls and interact with the local media.”
The duo had earlier even shot for a song in the Middle East. Talking about Mahira’s absence, Raees’ director Rahul Dholakia had earlier stated, “We do miss Mahira a lot and she is an integral part of the film. But in such a scenario, there is nothing that’s left to be done. She had come down to Mumbai a few years ago and executed the audition scenes beautifully,” reported DNA India.
Bilal Lashari’s upcoming film which will be a modern version of Maula Jatt has finally gone on floors now and and has got us super excited. It’s a star studded film with heartthrob Fawad Khan as Maula Jatt and his arch-rival Noori Nath played by Hamza Ali Abbasi, the leading ladies reportedly are Humaima Malick and Mahira Khan.
A photo posted by Bilal Lashari (@bilal_lashari) on
According to Hip, Ammara Hikmat, who is handling the movies PR confirmed them that the shooting has officially begun. Another thing she disclosed was that Maula Jatt 2 is not the official name of the movie.
Bilal Lashari clarified it on Facebook.
We already know that the film is a reboot of Maula Jatt and will be reinventing the whole Gundasa culture but what make’s it even more interesting is that it will be in Punjabi since the original was also in Punjabi.
Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi are already geared up for their film and Fawad’s new beef look has been creating buzz since past few days.
The film is directed and written by Bilal Lashari, co-produced by Faisal Rafi and Bilal Lashari under production banner of Crew Motion Pictures; it is expected to release in late 2017 or early 2018. Since Maula Jatt 2 is not the official name we wonder what is!
The diva Mahira Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut with one the most awaited films Raees. Raees’ songs have time and again created buzz as Mahira stunned every bit of it. Mahira has some great work to her credit, we already know how talented she is and now the King Khan of Bollywood has said that too.
In a candid conversation with The Indian Express, Shah Rukh Khan had a lot to share about his film. When asked how was it working with Mahira Khan, he said:
“She is an amazing actor, and so beautiful. Even before working on Raees, she is already an established star, it is not a new world that she has come in. She is terrific in the movie, you will see her more as her character, she is a very talented actor. I wish her all the best for the future.”
Ali Zafar is one of those multi-talented people who received a lot of praises in both Pakistan and India. He made is debut in Bollywood with film Tere Bin Laden and is all geared up to mark his debut in Pakistani cinema. The singer’s film is now set to go on floors.
The name of the romantic action-comedy film, produced by Lightingale Productions has finally been revealed and that is ‘Teefa in trouble’. Ali Zafar gave his fans a sneak peek of the film script and revealed the official title of the film.
All the tracks in this episode focused on shadi, whether it was Sikandar and Shama’s track or Nida and Zaman’s and let’s not forget Zehra! Honestly speaking I feel like I am getting an overdose of problems relating to marriage nowadays thanks to the kind of dramas I am following. It is especially annoying when these discussions about shadi biyah go on forever and all you are really waiting to see is whether a marriage will take place or not when all you want is more action and less talking! This episode was terribly slow. Nida’s character is getting more annoying with every passing episode and the kind of things her Taya is willing to compromise on makes his character not just conservative but a little too rigid. Zaman’s personality was already enough reason to refuse this rishta and now after this latest news it would have been good to see Nida’s father putting his foot down but on the contrary he was happy that Zaman had divorced the woman he married! While I totally understand how difficult it was for Taya and Nida’s father to cancel this marriage at this point but even then Nida’s father was introduced as someone who could have taken such a bold step for his daughter. Now he has seen just how much Taya cares about Nida therefore he is letting him make all the decisions.
Sikandar’s “surprise” did not come as a surprise at all! It was too obvious that he was doing this to make Shama’s mother happy yet she kept on wondering why he did not look as excited as he should have. Basically there are three people in this play who are getting married because they do not have a choice and one person who wants to get married but cannot because of her father’s rigid principles. Right now Sikandar and Shama’s track is easier to relate to than that of Nida’s but I can’t say that it is not clichéd. The heart attack was the biggest cliché of them all.
Nida has been shown as an oversensitive girl who even felt for the girl Zaman divorced so that he could get married to her! Personally I like Sanam Saeed’s acting style a lot but she does not fit into this Allah mian ki gaye role at all. At time she tends to overact in the scenes which are too emotional and that makes her character even more difficult to tolerate. Also, there is nothing new about a girl willing to destroy her entire life just to please her parents!
This episode of Dil Banjara wasn’t the least bit entertaining and the preview of the next episode suggested that Nida and Zaman’s marriage might not take place after all. The episodes shot in Nepal were visually pleasing and Nida and Sikandar’s track was definitely more interesting but these recent episodes have been too slow. Although there was tons of talking in this episode but it wasn’t the kind of episode which gives you a lot to talk about!

What a beautiful episode it was & such beautiful turn of events. I love how all of a sudden the colors became brighter & everything turned vibrant. It was a depiction of how everyone was ready to put the past to rest & was looking forward to move on, pretty much ready for the new beginnings & a fresh start. Even though it’s a known fact by now but after seeing this particular episode, I feel I have to say it again that I love love loveeeeeeeee this drama for so many reasons that I just can’t explain. Isn’t is amazing to see a drama where they touch on so many important aspects without making anything look boring or preachy. I am amazed to see that even at this stage, they have so many things, so many secrets to reveal, which just add more charm to the entire drama watching experience. Thank you Team Sang e Marmar once again for giving us yet another beautiful episode which was filled with so many beautiful moments, I just loved how positive the undertone of this episode was. ♥
So, finally the moment arrived when Gulistan Khan while looking back at his father’s journey could relate to everything that he went through. It was probably for the first time when Gulistan understood what his father used to say & most importantly why he’d say all those things because just when he was at the death bed, he had a very late realization of all the wrongdoings that he committed all his life. I want to personally thank the writer for touching the subject of ‘Riba’ in this drama & showing it with absolute accuracy. Respect, respect, respect! Gulistan for the first time was forced to that a step back & analyze everything that he has done all his life, which was following the footsteps of his father. Now when Gulistan himself has lost pretty much everything, he has realized that following his father was the worst thing he has done his entire life. From dealing in interest to abusing his wife, to mistreating everyone & to judging people on the basis of how much money they had, Gulistan’s upbringing wasn’t right & sadly after losing so much, he has come to the realization that he needs to make things right.
The scene which takes Gulistan Khan back to what happened between Gullalai & Baraan was so heart-wrenching, it was a very grave memory Gulistan had of Baraan’s last few days, like at this stage, Gulistan was seeing everything from a very different perspective & he was understanding how harsh the consequences were which his father had to face for all of the mistakes that he committed. It was good to see that after thinking things through, Gulistan started to make things right. I loved seeing how Gulistan began to take a few steps for his redemption, which started off by calling everyone to have a dinner together. It seems that after losing 3 family members, Gulistan is going to hold tightly onto his family & he will now do everything to protect them & will keep them closer to his heart.
To be honest, I was surprised with how Shireen reacted to Gulistan’s suggestion of going to Pari’s home for condolences on Saif ur Rehman’s death. Shireen actually got so much of love & respect from this family that she accepted Safiullah, despite his rude behavior. Even though Shireen was emotionally disturbed over what happened & how she was forced to get married to Safiullah, it looks like Gulistan & Shameem helped her in accepting this chapter of her life. Shireen has always been a very selfless person that is why we saw how she took everything on herself in order to protect Durkhane’s honor, similarly, even though she knew that Safiullah wasn’t going to treat her with respect, she only accepted him because she saw what she meant to Gulistan & Shameem as well. The way Shireen refused to meet Pari goes to show that she is well-aware of the game that Pari played & how she is responsible for maligning Shireen’s name, so Shireen didn’t find it necessary to rekindle a relationship that meant nothing to her at this stage.
I loved loved loveddd how they showed everything that Shameem was going through. The conversation she had with Aurang was absolutely beautiful. I must say the timing with which everything is revealed & how everything is linked with each other makes it a very unique experience. Like at first, where they clearly showed that even Gulistan came to realization that everything that his father faced or to an extent that he was facing was basically a punishment for dealing in Riba & then in the next scene we saw how Aurang was trying to console his mother by telling how Allah was testing her for her patience, like it wasn’t a punishment for her but a test which she had to take. I loved this bit the most where the writer elaborated that for Gulistan, it was a punishment but for Shameem, because she was innocent & had no say in what her husband or her father in law did, it was basically a test of her patience. Just when I saw Shameem crying in front of Aurang, this is exactly what I had in my mind, because I was wondering why Shameem was facing the brunt for what Baraan or even Gulistan have done all their lives & just the very next moment in that particular conversation, my doubts were cleared, this goes to show the amount of wisdom & intelligence that has gone into writing a script like this. Respect!
It’s a done deal by now that every episode of Sang e Marmar will bring a few moments which will force me to shed a tear or two & this time around, that was the moment that Gulistan & Shameem shared, where Gulistan offered Shameem to hold his hand after getting to know how distanced he was from his wife all his life & how she longed for him. That was yet another reality check that Gulistan got that in the pursuit of attaining power & authority, he forgot to treat Shameem as a wife. Even though Shameem is dealing with the pain her way, the sudden change in Gulistan’s behavior always comes as a reminder to her of all the things that she has gained now after losing all that she had. The way Gulistan tells Shameem to sit with him for dinner, the expressions of disbelief on her face was another very sweet moment, Gulistan has started making things right because he is tired & he has been defeated & this is how Shameem has never seen her husband before, that is why Shameem couldn’t believe what she was experiencing & it was very very sweet. I loved how Palwasha gave them all a space to have some family-time & it was good to see Gulistan having a conversation with his family. I know it’s a very random thing but seeing them all having green tea after dinner brought a smile to my face, like it’s a very small thing that sheds a light on the Pukhtoon food culture, but goes to show the attention to detail with which the director has directed this drama!
The scene where Pari is singing to her child was actually quite depressing but it had a very clear message. Pari is now going to prepare her child to avenge his father’s death. It was basically shedding a light on the loop that begins, the circle which everyone is forced to complete when a murder takes place. Saif ur Rehman killed without thinking things through, Saif ur Rehman also got killed & now his child will pretty much have the same fate because sadly, his mother has developed the hunger for revenge too. Sad but true!
The scene between Shameem & Shireen was another best moment of this episode, like it had no dialogues, just some very powerful expressions that told us all a tale of what was going through Shameem’s mind. Shameem looked at the tree & the birds which she took care of, which she nurtured all her life but now she handed over the responsibility to Shireen because she was tired & she wanted to give up. I loved how it showed that Shameem has given it all to this home, how she has literally dedicated her entire life to nurture each & everything related to it but now she wanted the time off because she has no courage & probably no motivation left to do it anymore. It was absolutely beautiful!
Malang Jaan & his story was something that Gulistan was now able to relate to as well. After Baraan Khan & his suffering, Malang Jaan’s story is another thing which Gulistan has gotten a clear perspective of. The way Gulistan Khan painted the picture of Malang Jaan’s suffering & his peaceful ending in front of Aurang to make him understand how even he wanted some rest now was deep, meaningful & very heart-touching. Gulistan Khan has realized that he has failed, he has understood that he has been defeated & now he has given up the urge to hold onto the things he kept closer to his heart all his life. Gulistan knows that Aurang has all the qualities of becoming his successor & he’d probably do a better job at everything in comparison to Gulistan, that is why has has decided to rely on Aurang & take a back seat from everything. I loved where at one hand Shameem gave the responsibility to Shireen, on the other, Gulistan Khan gave the responsibility to Aurang too! What a perfect closure & what a perfect way to start a new journey!
Overall, this episode was beautiful. I must say I am impressed how even after 21 episodes, the drama-makers have kept our interest alive in the show. This drama has turned out to be like one of those mystery case files where one mystery unravels & another awaits for the viewers, also what makes it absolutely amazing is that everything has been done so tastefully & perfectly that you just can’t find faults or loopholes. Sania Saeed & Noman Ejaz surely took the crown in this episode, followed by the writer who came up with such a brilliant script & embedded so many beautiful lessons in it. I must say, it takes a lot of courage to show something so controversial with so much of accuracy & for that, the team of Sang e Marmar deserves all the accolades. The preview of the next episode got me excited already, looks like Durkhane will finally unveil the truth, which is good because she should take the responsibility for her mistakes. I can’t wait to see the next episode alreadyyy!!! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Sang e Marmar.
