Transgender Model Rimal Ali is expected to make her cinematic debut with ‘Saath Din Mohabbat In’. The movie already stars Sheheryar Munawar and Mahira Khan in lead roles, while Ali will also be performing an item song alongside the former. (Alprazolam)

Rimal revealed the tale behind her being cast opposite Munawwar to shake a leg in a song. She said:

“I was approached for the movie by producer, Sanam Mehdi and I knew I had to do it. I can’t reveal the name of my character but what I can say is that I will be playing a transgender club dancer, which is why I also have a dance number in the movie. Sheheryar will also be performing with me in the song. We had a lot of fun during the shoot!”

Though the exact extent of Rimal’s role is unknown, it is good to see that Pakistani film industry is taking strides in a right direction. Nothing could be more progressive in terms of cinema than giving transgender people a chance to also show their talent. Let’s just wish that her role is appropriate and fulfilling to what she deserve.

Pakistani transgender community is vocal and aware about its right, they always fight for their community and talk on their behalf in front of powerful people. A lot of educated transgenders are leading a noble and reputable life. Now, we see a lot of transgenders holding good positions in government offices. Transgenders are becoming doctors, models and anchors.

Well, we oftentimes notice the actors and people do hurt the sentiments of trans community. A few days ago, a clip of popular actors went viral on social media in which they were discussing the style and language of transgender community. The host Fiza Ali and actor Neelum Muneer told the audience and participants that transgenders have their own language and they also imitated their style and language, they both were pretty much aware of the language. In that show, Humayun Saeed was also sitting and was listening & seeing Fiza & Neelum’s actions and conversation.

After the clip went viral, it was caught by one of the transgender activist who is educated, empowered and vocal about issues, the activist said that he didn’t like this clip in which the popular television anchor along with an actor, was mocking their respected language & community.

He said, “we have our own language, we use word Cheesa for good looking, we use word Loora for a boy, we use word Koond lo for having lunch or dinner, it’s our language and we are proud of it as a community”.

She further said, “You also say these things, you say oh! wow he’s so handsome_ saying it in English won’t make you cool, you need to step down a bit from your higher standards”

He further said, “the clapping action is our style and trade mark, it’s respectable for us, don’t make fun of it, this clap is also practiced by men and women but they are never mocked for expressing their happiness”.

He said, “your education is not in your degrees, it’s not in your good clothing, it’s neither in your work, but it’s reflected from your personal behaviour and I haven’t seen any community more civilized than trans community, we call men and women by their names. We don’t call them with mocking names, you call us Khusra, Heejra, Meetha, Fruit, Thanda_ we never call you from bad names”

The trailer of upcoming Pakistani animated adventure movie ‘Tick Tock’, with voice-overs by artistes Ahsan Khan, Aly Khan and others, has been released. The animated adventure movie is written by Omair Alavi and directed by Omer Hassan, a well-known name in the entertainment industry.

The trailer was launched at a private hotel in Karachi on Friday, wherein the main voice-over artistes of the movie were also present.

Agha Ali has now joined the world of singing and creating music videos after doing a lot of powerful roles in dramas. His latest venture is a video song with the name Mein Wohi Aashiq, whose theatrical trailer is released now. Being shot in rural areas of Pakistan, Geo Sar Utha Kay is based on the gang of Rajanpur which was involved in criminal activities including murders and kidnappings. The group named ‘Chottu Gang’ led by Ghulam Rasool. The village was then cleared by the Pakistan Army through the operation, Zarb e Aahan.

After completing its festival circuit, Usman Mukhtar’s short film, Bench, starring Rubya Chaudhry is now all ready for its release in Pakistan.

The short film follows a very simple yet meaningful story line, unpacking the struggles that a young couple, who have arrived at a crossroads in their relationship, sitting on a bench in a neighborhood park.

Written by Ali Mudar and Usman Mukhtar, the idea of Bench is very simple, how difficult it is when it comes to making the right choice. The trailer was released today and it sees Rubya delivering a small yet impacting performance in the few minutes you see her on screen.

The film can be called a family movie, but for Ghafoor Butt family, as three family members of this family are associated with it. Ghafoor Butt is producer, his elder son Shahzad Ghafoor Butt is director and his younger son Sheraz Butt is hero. Ghafoor Butt is a Norwegian-Pakistani, who also produced one film ‘Khamosh Raho’ earlier in 2011 to launch his son Sheraz Butt as hero, but the film failed badly at box office and the film System is second attempt to launch his son again as hero. After a long delay finally the film ABDULLAH is ready to hit the cinemas on 21^st October. The movie is based on the incident of Kharotabad. The incident is about the deaths of five unarmed foreigners at an FC checkpoint in Quetta. The film was delayed due to the censor board objections as they considered the content bit controversial.

It’s been three years that the film was under production. The film is featuring Hameed Sheikh, Imran Abbas and Sadia Khan. Regarding the objection of censor board the director Hashim Nadem shared that they wanted the climax scene to be blurred but that could affect the movie therefore we re-shot the entire scene and now the issue is resolved.

It shows the aftermath, the consequences of what happened. But, of course, the film’s backdrop is the incident.”

The director shared that through this film they have tried to reduce the intensity of criticism which the incident has caused. “There has been a lot of negative reports and propaganda revolving around the incident. With this film, we have tried to clear that out and send a positive message.”

Hina Daniyal Malik was a young and enthusiastic popular vlogger who was successfully making her unique content by promoting local sellers. The young blogger was promoting the beautiful clothes of local sellers by telling their details. She used to visit local sellers and used to showcase their products, prices and addresses. A few days ago, we heard the tragic death news of the young vlogger. A lot of people were speculating different sort of stories related to her death.

Recently, her sister Hira took the tragic story of Hina’s death to her Instagram. She said, “a day before my sister passed away, her husband called me and said, ‘Hina is sick, please come over’_, I took it as a normal sickness and reached to their place, after reaching their I saw her in a terrible and deteriorating condition as she had a brain stroke, she was losing her movements, we took her to hospital where they suspected the clot in her brain. They said that a procedure could be done to open the vein of the brain but it would only be started when you will pay 11 lac rupees. We were agreed to do half payment in advance as we didn’t have that much money, initially, but they didn’t agree and we moved her to another hospital where they first shifted her in ICU as she was in bad condition then they placed her on ventilator, next day, she passed away in the morning at 6:00 am on 11th June, we are in grief of the loss of our too young sister, kindly pray for her, she was an active and a grateful person. She was doing philanthropic sort of work by promoting local sellers”.

Hina Daniyal Malik’s husband also told about her death, he said, “I am Daniyal Malik, Hina’s husband, I want to share that Hina didn’t face any kind of accident. She didn’t have any medical condition, she was talking to me at night and after a few minutes I woke her up for a call, she wan unconscious, It all happened in few hours, she had no medical issue, she had no accident, whatever had happened was by the will of Allah. To all the people, who are saying us to delete her videos need to understand that we were doing this as our aim. Till date, shopkeepers tell me that they are getting clients because of Hina” .
