I was in the programming side. I was not seeking work but started my acting career in 2021. There was a lady, Arsheela, in ARY who knew me. She once asked me to go for an audition for acting. So I gave the audition, and I knew it was not that great, but they called me after 7 to 8 months. They narrated the character to me. I was thinking about it when my mother said, “You can try once.” I wanted to do decent work. I signed the project, I worked, and enjoyed it”.

Tuba Anwar is new to the acting field. She started her career with production and later on came into the limelight when she got married to late host and politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain. She became a known face and suddenly we saw her on many live shows and she became a constant part of the television industry. She later on gave an audition and she got selected for the drama Bharaas.

Recently, the couple was invited by Hadiqa Kiani to show ‘Aap Kay Sitaray’. Weight gain can be problematic for your health as it causes lethargy, affects your skin and can cause heart problems in the long run. Plus people always have a goal weight that they do not want to exceed but can due to various reasons.

As experts got together in Good Morning Pakistan, they discussed various issues from skincare to acne , pigmentation and weight loss. Different tips and tricks were shared so people can get their old figures back. A question was asked regarding quick weight loss as the lady wanted to attend a family wedding and wanted to fit in her old clothes.

Dr Umme Raheel shared that you would have to control food portions. Plus take chia seeds mixed in yoghurt every morning for breakfast. She also prescribed drinking grapefruit juice mixed with apple cider vinegar. She also shared a soup for lunch which includes only vegetables. The doctors also went on to prescribe khar powder to be taken in the night.

Story of Gulsher – Tehzeeb Foundation’s tribute video which is made for the victims of the Army Public School (APS) attack, has won a silver medal at the Global Music Awards in the United States.

The track was released in December which tells the story of two brothers,Gulsher and Shamsher.
The 13-year-old Gulsher lost his life in the attack while the younger Shamsher survived and then returned to his school with renewed spirit.
Story of Gulsher is part of the Action Moves People United album sponsored by UNESCO, and has been produced by Sharif Awan, general secretary of  the Tehzeeb Foundation and producer of Indus Raag.
Sharif told The Express Tribune he is honoured to have won the coveted prize:

“It was our artistic response to terrorism because that’s all we can do. We can’t pick up arms and go fight,” he said. “I didn’t get any personal benefit from this but I believe it was a scholastic response to the incident. I’m glad Pakistan is getting more international recognition.”
“December 16 is such a tragic date in our history that we wish to avoid it like the 1971’s Bangladesh split. But now, it’s forever etched in our minds. Lyricist Harris Khalique summed it better at the launch last year when he said he hoped he never has to write such a poem again,” Sharif admitted. “Earlier, we were unable to commemorate December 16 but now we must capitalise on it like all responsible nations.”

Sharif also thanked his team for bringing Story of Gulsher to life. “Zoe Viccaji, Nafees Ahmed, Zia Mohyeddin and Arshad Mehmud worked free of cost. This was a personal project and we didn’t have many resources but still, they helped out. Even the Sindh government lent a hand,” he revealed. “Even Indus Raag 2 is nominated for a Lux Style Award (LSA) this year, marking the first time this kind of indigenous music is acknowledged by them. I will just say music will play its part. Each part of history has been reactive and responsive to the situations around. Now we are also making history by reacting and I’m thankful to everyone for making it possible.”

ISPR has also produced or collaborated with production houses to produce dramas related to army like Sunehray Din, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Wilco, Shehpar, Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin Hai.

Rashid Nazir Ali

Last year the news of an upcoming drama Trial which is based on political scenario of 1970’s with the characters of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Indira Gaandhi, Yahya Bakhtiyar and others was mentioned in press reports. As per the press reports in Ocotber 2014 the drama was shot in Lahore where Samina Peerzada is working as Indira Gaandhi, Qavi Khan as Yahya Bakhtyar and Adnan Jeelani as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

There were no further news about this drama, till last week when the Urdu Weekly Akhbar-e-Jehan published the following picture of Samina Peerzada and Adnan Jeelani in the getup of Indira Gandhi and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto respectively thus confirming such drama is in the making.

Here are the excerpts published in Urdu press in October – November 2014 about this drama. Apart from these excerpts no further information is available about this drama.

As already known few cinemas previously stopped screening Indian films and now the Cinepax cinemas all together have quit showing Bollywood films and rescheduled the shows with “the best of Pakistani films”.

Cinepax announced this in a Facebook post:

This year on Eid ul Azha three really good movies were released including Janaan, Actor In Law and Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai. These films are presently running in the cinemas, previous films include like Bachaana, Bin Roye, Dukhtar, Mah e Mir, Manto, Moor, Shah and Zinda Bhaag are on the list to be included in the regular shows.

This move has been made by the cinemas after Pakistani exhibitors’ decision to cease the screening of all Indian films. Cinemas such as Lahore’s Super Cinema and Karachi’s Atrium Cinemas and Nueplex Cinemas were among the first to announce that move on Friday.
