In the latest episode of Biryani, fans are discussing that Gul is a manipulator who is actually in love with Miran. They believe she is now paving the way for their relationship by brainwashing Meeran. One fan wrote, “Gul is definitely in love with Meeran.” Another stated, “Gul herself is crazy about him; that’s why she’s acting innocent and creating all this drama.”
A viewer called out Gul, saying, “Gul gave so many points about cousin marriage. She genuinely likes Meeran — tell him, Gul, you hypocrite woman, tell him to his face!” One fan commented, “Just listen to how Gul talks. She always says Meeran is trapped in this relationship but never once says that about herself. It’s so obvious she wants that man.” Another wrote, “I’m sure Gul is in love with Meeran, but he should stop taking out his frustration on Gul and stand up for himself like a real man.” Read comments:
Biryani is an ARY Digital drama serial written by Zafar Mairaj, directed by Badar Mehmood, and produced under the banner of Big Bang Productions. The drama stars Ramsha Khan as Nisa Majeed and Khushhal Khan as Mir Meeran, who meet at university and gradually fall in love. Their seemingly perfect relationship takes a shocking turn when Nisa discovers that Mir Meeran Shah is already married to Gul, played by Sarwat Gilani. The revelation shakes the foundation of their bond, leading to heartbreak, mistrust, and emotional turmoil. Biryani airs twice a week on Monday and Tuesday and each episode manages to collect 4 million views.
So far, 16 episodes of the drama serial Biryani have aired on ARY Digital. In the latest episode, fans are quite emotional about the heartbreak that Nisa and Meeran are going through. Moreover, many are expressing their sympathies for Gul.
Nisa and Meeran’s unusual love story has sparked debate on digital and social media platforms. Many believe that Meeran is responsible for the whole situation since he didn’t tell Nisa the truth about his relationship status. Others are praising Nisa’s integrity and want her to choose her career over Meeran. Fans also think that Gul suffered in this situation. However, some viewers believe that Gul isn’t as innocent as she seems. One wrote, “Gul isn’t that simple; she doesn’t want to share Meeran and played a strategy.” Another fan commented, “Mir Meeran Shah is the main culprit who didn’t tell Nisa the biggest truth of his life.” A viewer said, “Feeling sad for Nisa; she is a strong woman. I hope she chooses her future and career over Meeran.” Another fan wrote, “Why do Ramsha Khan and Khushhal Khan always do dramas that don’t have happy endings?” Read the comments:
Biryani is the new drama everyone’s talking about, and it’s not just for the reunion of Duniyapur’s beloved duo, Khushhal Khan and Ramsha Khan. Seven years after stepping away from mainstream TV for films and OTT projects, Sarwat Gilani makes a triumphant return as Gul Mehar. Her character in the Zafar Mairaj-written, Badar Mehmood-directed show has immediately captivated audiences. Early theories about Gul Mehar have been circulating non-stop, and as new episodes drop, it seems all the speculation is finally being confirmed!
Biryani threw a boomerang at the audinece who were loving Meran and Nisa’s cute relationship. Meran is actually married to Gul Mehar. This has shed light on an age-old custom of forced marriages which is still followed in many areas of Pakistan. Meran married Gul Mehar who was older than him due to family pressure and now he is in love with a girl his age.
This is how the truth came out:
The internet is loving the twist in Biryani but also calling out big loopholes. According to the story narrated by Gul Mehar, she is around 39 and Meran is just 4 years younger than her which means he should be at least 35. A 35 year old trying to romance a college student like Nisa is not going down well with fans:
A majority of Biryani fans are also sympathizing with Nisa and Gul Mehar. One fan wrote, “Meran was already married. He deceived Nisa when he did not tell her about his relationship status.” Another added, “Nisa is not in a committed relationship right now. The real victim here is Gul Mehar.” One said, “According to the story, Meran was old enough when he married Gul Mehar and now he is trying to convince Nisa for a second marriage.” Here is the reaction:

It is the first Pakistani film which is released simultaneously in so many countries. As per different unconfirmed sources the film has earned nearly 4 crore in Pakistan in one week. As per PakistaniCinema website nearly 20% of the total business of Bin Roye in Pakistan is generated from Federal Capital Islamabad.

However before its release as per film distributor Nadeem Mandviwala, it is banned in the Indian state of Maharashtra including the cities of Mumbai and Pune. The film is banned not because of its content but solely for being a “Pakistani” film. Nadeem is the head of Mandviwalla Entertainment (ME), which distributes Indian (Bollywood) films in Pakistan apart from local films.
“Pakistani film ‘Bin Roye’ has just been banned by Maharashtra State in India. Rest of India it opens on Friday. The minutes objected cause it’s a Pakistani film,”he announced on his FB account.
“I feel that the process which we have fought for allowing Indian Films in Pakistan legitimately is now being jeopardized by Indian States themselves. The repercussions of such acts can become detrimental for both film Industries. It’s a sad day today as Maharashtra State has given reason to start the debate once again which lasted for more than 40 years. (1965 to 2006) “, he further added.
In 1965, Indian films screening in cinemas was banned in Pakistan following a war with India. The ban was lifted in 2006 and since then Indian films are doing roaring business at Pakistani cinema houses. On the contrary, Pakistani films are never banned in India, but not much Pakistani films are released in India either. As compared to the craze and demand of Indian movies and stars in Pakistan, Pakistani stars and productions are relatively unknown in India apart from few exceptions.

They have been seen in almost all the leading cinemas, spending some quality time with fans. All this promotion has been welcomed very warmly by the fans. It is obvious that the film already has a huge fan following so it will be seen by many people. The fans enjoyed talking to and taking pictures with their favorite celebrities.

Here are pictures of the Bin Roye Team spending time with fans in different cities and cinemas:
Bin Roye, is an upcoming Pakistani romantic drama film which will be directed by Haissam Hussain and produced by Momina Duraid. It will be released under the banner of Hum Films. The cast members Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed along with President of Hum Network Limited, Sultana Siddiqui have made us excited for the movie.
Mahira Khan, last year, in an interview told The News about her character that,
I play the role of Saba, a complex character with shades of grey. It was a difficult role in terms of keeping a balance while portraying her emotions. There are many shifts in the moods of the character, which had to be conveyed with subtlety.”
She also informed why she chose this role:
Bin Roye was offered to me right after Humsafar. I had a choice and I decided that right now this is the best thing I could do. I liked the story.
Moreover, she hinted at a scene that “drove her crazy” and that there is music and dance in the film.
It had this one scene that kept me awake at night and drove me insane and I couldn’t not say yes.
I like my dance and song. And I have danced in Bin Roye

Humayun Saeed, who plays the male lead in Bin Roye, told Dawn News that,
Bin Roye is a romantic drama. But it will not just be a film; it will also be turned into a serial to be aired on Hum TV with the same cast.
Farhat Ishtiaq is a great writer and Humsafar did really well, but Bin Roye’s story is much more mature.

Director of Hum Network, Sultana Siddiqui told BBC Urdu about the project (translated from Urdu),
Bin Roye is a beautiful film. The topic is romance. Film is for entertainment purpose and I believe that the person who pays for it should leave happy.
She informed about her approach towards songs,
I am not against item songs but I refused them for the movie. I have adopted a cultural approach for the songs.
The heroine will not be wearing a jhoomar or teeka and keeping the makeup on all day like Indian heroines.

All of this is enough to get us excited for the movie and serial. What about you?
HUM Network’s first commercial film Bin Roye which has been in the pipeline for a long time now it out making waves but now with promos that blew the audience away to a music launch that was in itself a statement it is certainly out to impress. The stars made an appearance on the launch and the launch is getting rave reviews by the people who attended it.
I am certain that this episode contained more scenes from the film which is why it had the same feel as the first episode. So, this drama started with the scenes from the movie and ended with them too, all of these scenes were visually far more appealing and well knitted than the drama as a whole, which basically proves that a lot more effort went into making the film than the drama. This ending could have been far better if Irtiza was not shown after Saba got the phone call, that would have kept the suspense alive and the viewers could have connected to Saba’s feelings even more. Mahira Khan and Hamayun Saeed saved the day yet again by making the viewers connect to their scenes even though some of the dialogues and conversations (especially Irtiza’s “confession” in the end) weren’t as powerful or convincing as one would have hoped for them to be. Just like every other dramatic climax in this drama, this ending too was rushed.
I am certain that I wasn’t the only one who was waiting for Bin Roye to go on air for the longest time now primarily because of the big names attached to this serial and of course because of the hype as well. Bin Roye started off on a good note and promised to be an emotional drama but very soon due to the pace of the drama, script which lacked clarity and did not have the details which were necessary, weak direction and choppy editing made Bin Roye one of the biggest disappointments of this season. Mahira Khan and Hamayun Saeed’s chemistry made few of the episodes bearable and even entertaining, apart from that Bin Roye lacked the dramatic peaks which were necessary for keeping the viewers looking forward to more. Mahira Khan gave an outstanding performance throughout and because of her Saba for the longest time was the only character which kept my interest alive. Although the drama as a whole wasn’t fast paced but even then a lot of important developments were rushed and consequently unconvincing. There were many episodes in which the focus wasn’t entirely on situations which could have added something more tangible to the story and details which the viewers wanted to see were left out completely.
One thing which truly stood out like a sore thumb throughout the drama was the fact that although Saba was supposed to be the ladli beti of the house yet her parents were never shown treating her like she was very dear to them. Also, it was quite obvious that Javaid Sheikh and Zeba Bakhtiar might have fulfilled their commitment vis a vis Bin Roye the film but were probably not around when the shooting for the drama was taking place. I am guessing that is the reason why they were missing from some extremely important scenes and scenarios.
Accidents were used in Bin Roye to add twists to the story which changed its course completely. Saman’s parents’ accident was the reason why she moved in with her real parents and entered Irtiza’s life, Saman’s death was due to an accident too and now in the end the reason for Irtiza and Saba’s happy ending was also an accident!
I would like to thank all those readers who followed the reviews and shared their thoughts here every week. Don’t forget to share your thoughts about this last episode.
Upcoming film Bin Roye is based on a novel written by the famous novelist and drama writer Farhat Ishtiaq. The film stars Mahira Khan and Hamayun Saeed who play the leading roles in the movie. Armeena Rana Khan, Javed Sheikh and Zeba Bakhtiar also stand out in this first trailer of the film. Bin Roye has been produced by Momina Duraid Productions and directed by Shehzad Kashmiri. New about Bin Roye have been circulating the web for two years now and finally the wait is over! Everyone was waiting anxiously to see the first look of the film which is finally out. The first promo of the film looks very colorful and it promises a very exciting love story which is based on “love and hate”.

In these two episodes Saman got more settled in the house mainly due to the love given to her by Saba but once she was well settled it seemed like she was the one running the show while Saba found it impossible to cope with so many new changes which she did not anticipate. Saba noticed Saman and Irtiza’s growing closeness and her reaction was shown realistically. Although the timing of the realization and the overall impact such a major development should have had was derailed in episode 4 in particular, just like every other big development in Bin Roye so far, but Saba’s reaction was definitely in line with her character. She did not confront Saman but she decided to ignore her in order to make her feel just as alienated as Saman made her feel because of her growing relationship with Irtiza. Irtiza’s character is that of a sweet, gentle man who is completely blown away by Saman. The attraction he feels towards Saman is difficult to relate to because Saman’s character isn’t very appealing, it also has done-to-death written all over it. She is the older, wiser sister, who can do no wrong. Also, Hamayun Saeed’s manly demeanor which is a part of his overall personality does not really fit in the present scenario. The fact that he played an exceptionally strong role very recently in drama serial Dillagi also does not help. Irtiza is too plain and he is only attractive because two women find him attractive otherwise his character does not have a lot to offer.
Saba’s character is exactly the way it was so many years back when she was a child, which means there has been absolutely no character development. She still cried when Irtiza lost the match, although the reason was different this time but the fact that she could not hide her feelings from everyone else around her went to show that although she claimed to be mature but she was still like that 10 year old girl who had very little control over her feelings. The scenes in episode 4 in which dadi and Saba’s mother talk about Saman and later on criticize Saba for her bad habits was a scene which showed Saba’s general disgust with Saman being the perfect child – a detail which gave this relationship a very typical feel. Also, in tonight’s episode Saba’s conversation with dadi gave the same impression. The only difference here is that while Saman is the perfect sister, Saba is not being shown as an evil character.
These two episodes further showed that Saba’s life literally revolved around Irtiza. In all these years she never really got used to having Irtiza around but still having him around her meant something special. He is all she talks about and the only person she wants to spend her time with. Mahira Khan wore minimum make-up in these two episodes and there was very little styling too. Just like most of the roles Mahira Khan plays she is really into her character but her character is one-dimensional. Probably to show the contrast between Saman and Saba even more Armeena Rana Khan’s styling was much more trim and proper. Armeena Rana Khan’s dialogue delivery and overall performance is making it very difficult to relate to Saman’s character.
Safir’s (Junaid Khan) character was also introduced in these episodes. He is his mother’s only son who works in the US and is romantically involved with a Hindu girl (Shazia Naz), someone he can probably never get married to but they share an apartment! Safir’s conversation with his girlfriend pretty much summed up why he will end up bowing to his mother’s wishes at some point.
Dadi talked about Irtiza’s wedding in the 2nd episode, Saba told her about her feelings for Irtiza at that time but since then there has been absolutely no mention of what Saba said. Dadi and Saba’s relationship had tons of potential which has not been utilized to the maximum. These 5 episodes have proved one thing, Bin Roye is going to be a very typical story and none of the twists will have the shock value which are needed to make the viewers sit at the edge of their seats. Bin Roye keeps you interested, there are moments which are emotional but it does not blow you away. The good thing about this play is that there are no heroes or villains in this story but just normal everyday people who are caught up in situations beyond their control which will determine the course of their relationships and their lives. The things which keeps it from being a complete winner is that all these people are a little too plain at times and the drama does not have a lot of extraordinary performances to its credit.
Yasmin’s (the maid) rude behaviour with Saba in episode 4 stood out like a sore thumb! I could not understand the reason behind it. Saba might be immature but she is very well mannered, I couldn’t understand why Yasmin was even acting that way. This was a small scene but one which made you wonder why it was there! Bin Roye has two iconic directors behind it therefore watching a less than average performance by Armeena Rana Khan and scenes which are supposed to be emotionally charged but don’t have enough impact or incidents which are not followed through has been an anticlimax, to say the least. Mahira Khan’s expressions when Irtiza shares with Saba that he was in love and later on the reaction when she heard Irtiza proposing to Saman did not make a lot of sense. How could she not know that he was talking about Saman and not her? Having said that, I have to say that Irtiza is at his best when he is with Saba. Hamayun Saeed and Mahira Khan’s chemistry with each other is definitely making their scenes work. Also, although Saba’s love is immature but you can’t help but relate to her feelings. In tonight’s episode especially watching Saba’s hopes being dashed to the ground was definitely emotional. The picture quality of the play was perfect in the first episode but after that there have been quite a few scenes in which neither the picture quality nor the make-up of many of the actors has been up to the mark. Also, there were a few scenes in which the viewers were shown one night after another and the days were completely missed. The family as a whole has not been shown together in any of the scenes, even tonight in the engagement scene Javed Sheikh was missing.
Mahira Khan was the star of the show tonight without a doubt. Even though the directors and the people behind the camera failed to do justice to her but Saba’s character and her track is the only reason why I will be tuning into Bin Roye next week. The latest developments reminded me of Alvida yet again. I haven’t read the novel but I have seen Alvida and therefore it is very easy to predict what is going to happen next.

Even though Bin Roye has largely been a disappointment so far but every time a new episode airs I watch it with an open-mind waiting to be entertained and enthralled but just like the previous two weeks, this week too Bin Roye lacked the kind of emotions which make a viewer connect to the characters. Choppy editing, conversations that leave a lot to be desired and scenes which are ultimately going to mean something but don’t mean much at the moment make watching this drama a mundane task. Irtiza and Saba shared more screen space in tonight’s episode but these scenes couldn’t make up for the lack of understanding and friendship which was a part of all the previous episodes after Irtiza got married. Tonight when Irtiza told Saman that no one knew Saba better than him, his words did not carry any weight because he failed to address the change in Saba’s behavior when he should have noticed it the most. Irtiza and Saba’s relationship and their chemistry was the main highlight of this drama but these latest developments have completely destroyed the connection these two once had.
This episode opened with Saba’s call to her dadi, once again Saba shared her troubled state of mind with her dadi. Saba’s presence in Saman’s house did not seem forced in the previous episode but in this episode dadi’s half-hearted attempt to convince Saba’a father to bring her back made it look really forced. Also, there was a time when Saba was her father’s ladli but now we don’t see them interacting even. Few lines suggesting that her parents missed her would have filled in the weird vacuum that makes it very difficult to take this drama seriously. The entire “batameezi” issue was blown out of proportion since Irtiza knows Saba can be unreasonable at times – she is the same person who cried when he lost the match, remember!! The preview of the next episode showed Saman remembering all these incidents and finally putting two and two together but right now most of these scenes made very little sense.
Once again we jumped from one episode to the other. I get it that Saba is confused and she is trying really hard to make the most of this situation but even then those conversations with Saman in particular made me wonder how she could connect to Saman on that level. When she is with Saman she is an entirely different person. Saba and Amir’s conversations were filler scenes which added nothing new to the story. I am also wondering why Safeer’s track is being shown side by side, I just hope that they don’t show Salma waiting for Saba even now after two years!
This episode of Bin Roye was “plastic” as a whole but the biggest blunder came at the very end. It took Irtiza “two years” to tell Saba’s parents about Amir’s proposal! This was a serious editing mistake and the kind of mistake which you just do not expect from a team behind the biggest and the most hyped up drama HUM had to offer this year. The scene in which dadi discusses the proposal with Saba’s father and the last scene should have come two years earlier and not two years later!! I am still finding it hard to believe that the editors made such a terrible mistake. Because of this blooper not much is going to make sense now or we will see even bigger bloopers in the upcoming episode?
Some of the scenes in Bin Roye have this “prism” effect which we don’t usually see in dramas, it makes things look unreal. Tonight’s episode ended at a dramatic note but somehow it did not make me look forward to the next episode. Bin Roye’s pace is slow, there is little or no consistency in scenes, the screen time has not been divided intelligently between different characters and the story as a whole lacks substance. Most importantly, the editing mistakes are killing the flow of the story.
