What are your roots?

My dad’s side family is from India. He was born in Lahore and my mom’s side family is entirely from Iran. Both of them came to the United States 35 years ago. I and my two brothers were born in North Carolina. I belong to a mixed family.

Who is in your family and where is your family?

I have two brothers in my family, one is older than me and he is a doctor. I am the middle one and my younger brother is in high school. We all live in Michigan. I was born in North Carolina and then we moved to Michigan from where I did my middle school. my brothers moved to Vancouver and at the same time, I moved to Pakistan. I started working as an actress and they moved to Orlando and I used to go back and forth. I used to stay with my grandma in Pakistan. I loved Karachi, it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been to. So, in my family, I have two brothers, my husband, mom and dad, and my dog.

When did you start acting?

In 2012, I was teaching in a school and I was really depressed because I didn’t know how it would be in Pakistan and I was doing life, education and it was like for the less fortunate. I was really depressed and I used to enjoy photography, someone asked me why don’t you become a photographer? So I was interning with a photographer and the model ran away and he offered me for the modelling and I was like how to be a model? Later, I thought about it maybe I can get some really nice Facebook pictures and I modelled for the designer and then Zong called me, I did their commercial. The commercial was really bad because I didn’t know how to act. I also did a billboard for Zong and then stone-age saw me and then they hired me for their shoes, it was really funny because I was doing everything for free. This all was like a hobby but then the makeup artist for the Zong commercial offered me the role of a girl coming from the US, I did that drama called Hazaron Saal. It was a good experience for me.

When did you get married?

I got married in 2017, it was a very simple and small event. My husband is a doctor from Canada. I am from the US and right now we are both in the US. I had three events in Pakistan and one in Canada.  I met him five-six years ago so we are really good friends.

The wife of renowned folk singer Arif Lohar passed away on May 9, 27 Ramadan. Arif Lohar and his children are deeply saddened by the loss of their mother. Yesterday, Arif Lohar released the first video message with his sons after the death of his wife in which he talked about his wife and thanked the people for their love and affection.

Arif Lohar mentioned that his wife had a sudden heart attack and she passed away. He further added that God called my wife to himself on 27th of Ramzan, which is one of the most blessed day in a year. “The entire artist community, including my loved ones, shared my grief equally,” he said. The singer requested his loved ones to recite Durood Pak as much as possible for his wife.

Arif Lohar is the pride of Pakistan. The folk singer has worked tirelessly to warm his way into people’s hearts and for his music to make way into people’s souls. The government appreciated his efforts of promoting Pakistani folk music by awarding him with the Pride of Punjab award.

The award was given to him at an event arranged by Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture in Lahore. They are all settled in London. They left Pakistan years ago and settled in the UK when my father was alive. They are all doing well and are happy. My case is different; I have always been a lover of my father. I had deep affection for him. If you love something, you go after it. Likewise, I loved my father and wanted to be around him. I used to feel incomplete without him. Even today, I live in his memories, but I feel happy when people associate me with him and say I am Alam Lohar’s son. I remember one of his messages: do not break anyone’s heart intentionally.”

Arif Lohar’s fame has begun long before his work made the huge impact that it did, because of his father’s achievements in the world of folk music. Since he started performing himself, Arif Lohar has mesmerised not only Pakistanis but even audiences from those nations who don’t understand the language of his songs.

His voice has an ethereal depth to it and his persona just adds to the richness of hearing experience. Recently he was awarded with The Pride Of Punjab award for which he humbly says he is very proud of. Yet he believes he has not reached his destination. Hareem revealed how she has been a victim of body shaming, Hareem said, “She was always told that she’s too big or too fat to be in the media and especially in front of the camera. She urged, all the woman out there to love their selves.”

Arez Ahmed and Hiba Bukhari make one of the cutest couples in the industry. The duo met on the sets of Bholi Bano and later on got together in real life. Their wedding was beautiful and their fans adore them whenever they appear together on screen. Hiba and Arez are both super supportive of each other’s careers.

The duo cooked together for the very first time this Eid ul Adha. They made a Sheer Khorma and their cooking was raw and oh so funny. Arez Ahmed brought forward his cheeky side while Hiba was funny as hell as they both cooked in very hot weather. Kubra Khan’s advice that she recently gave in an interview also helped Arez. Kubra had said that our men should watch Korean dramas to know how romance works and looks like Arez took some lessons.
