Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 22 Story Review – Problems Ahead

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak left me with mixed feelings about the drama, perhaps for the first time! It is turning out to be yet another drama that is going to take a turn for the worse at a point when the viewers want to see it end! There were so many conversations in this episode that suggested that Azfar Rehman’s character is going to make an entry in the story once again. It remains to be seen what purpose this will serve. He was bound to resurface at some point but why do it at a time when Fajar and Saim got back together after staying apart for the longest time? Some of the conversations were slightly exaggerated as well just to give the impression that Fajar finally got her happy ending. Noor and Nasir’s track is cute but some of the scenes covering their state of mind were also stretched.

Fajar and Saim

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak opened with Saim showering Fajar with love and his undivided attention. Fajar was also complimented for her newfound confidence and how content she was with life. Even though Fajar has changed a lot over the years, I doubt that she has the courage to face her rapist and do something about the situation. There were so many scenes tonight showing how good these two were together. These scenes immediately made me wonder if their perfect life will be interrupted in a way Fajar couldn’t even have imagined. I am glad that the writer has highlighted the importance of therapy and medication. He has not relied on Saim’s love completely to help Fajar heal.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 22 Story Review – Problems Ahead

She has surely come a long way but it was somewhat unrealistic that these few days of contentment made her forget how uncertain Saim’s mother is and how Saim is also capable of doubting her intentions. Her conversation with Noor in particular showed that she was still naïve and even gullible. These happy moments between Fajar and Saim were slightly overdone. If Azfar’s character was to be reintroduced again, it should have been done earlier. The sudden changes in Saim’s mother’s behavior are also difficult to relate to. Her negative side should not have been given so much screen time. I am pretty sure that the cousin who is due to visit must be the person who violated Fajar. I just hope that this particular development is also used for a meaningful purpose and not just to add more misery to this particular track. Srha Asghar continues to be impressive as Fajar but I really can’t see her suffering more!

Noor and Nasir

Noor and Nasir’s track even with all its underlying seriousness always manages to put a smile on my face. Noor is turning to be a woman of strength and principles. Nasir is an unusual leading man who has his own way of fixing problems. His scenes are amusing and meaningful at the same time. He has been there for Noor and truly believes in finding a way around problems. Noor and Nasir’s conversation about responsibilities was such an intelligent way of showing that their marriage was based on companionship. Nasir understood that it was as important for Noor to be there for her family as it was for him. These two understand each other therefore even before Noor shared her worries with him; he already had a solution in place! Ushna Shah and Adeel Hussein definitely make Noor and Nasir’s track even more likable.

Nasir’s scenes with his mother were stretched and so were the scenes that lead to their meeting in the store. Even with all his flaws, Nasir has always been a likable character because he respected Noor and his priorities in life right from the start.

Final Remarks

This episode of Aakhir Kab Tak was not as wholesome as some of the previous episodes. The story needs to move forward more rapidly towards an ending. We witnessed all these characters go through so many ups and down in these 22 weeks, the viewers deserve a good timely ending. I hope that the pace of the drama does not slow down further since the preview suggested that Azfar’s character might be introduced at the end of the next episode.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 21 Story Review – Changing Perceptions

This was yet another impressive episode of Aakhir Kab Tak. The biggest strength of this drama lies in its realistic, meaningful, and well-thought-out script. The writer has in an engaging and subtle manner shown the obstacles all the leading characters have managed to overcome as the story progresses forward every week. The pace of the drama couldn’t have been better. Fajar and Noor both changed their perceptions about marriage and men in this episode. This change has been shown logically and gradually, which makes it easier to relate to as well as wholesome. Every track is gradually headed towards an interesting ending. Aakhir Kab Tak also highlights the role of parents in children’s lives and how their parenting style shapes up a child’s personality. For most of these characters, the past 10 weeks in particular have been a learning experience in so many ways. We definitely need more meaningful dramas such as this one which entertains and educate at the same time.

Unlearning

Noor, Fajar, and Safia’s journeys have shown in the aptest manner possible how important it is to ‘unlearn’ certain things in order to bring about a positive change. Noor and Fajar both grew up watching their mother being disrespected and looked down upon. Therefore, both of them naturally learned that marriage was not the ‘happy ending’! While Fajar was scared of men in general after her teacher whom she respected and trusted violated her, Noor was never keen on getting married because she was scared of the outcome. She did not believe that marriage was a happy union because of the kind of life she witnessed her mother living over the years. Men such as Saim and Nasir, changed their perspective altogether and tonight the way their tracks moved forward went to show that these two young girls were ready to unlearn everything they had learned till now. This was such a beautiful way of showing how changing one’s perspective can be a long but fruitful process.

Fajar decided to start her married life all over again in a completely different manner, this time around. This was the kind of change that most of the viewers were looking forward to watching. I felt genuinely happy for this girl because she has come so far. There was a time when Fajar was simply incapable of showing her most basic emotions and now she has wholeheartedly accepted this relationship. Although the changes in her personality were quite apparent, I was not expecting to see such a major shift. This was definitely a pleasant surprise. Saim has worked hard to change her perspective and gain her trust. I just hope that her track does not take a sad turn now.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 21 Story Review – Changing Perceptions

In this episode, Noor asked Nasir for the kind of favor she did not really agree with at first. She has learned a few things from this man and Nasir is in a way in the process of unlearning as well! He taught her how to use pressure and force where needed. She taught him how to earn an honest living. These two make such an unconventional on-screen couple. Adeel Hussein and Ushna Shah’s performances coupled with their on-screen chemistry make them one of the best on-screen couples right now. Ushna Shah portrayed Noor’s excitement and sense of disbelief so well! She is finally ready to get married even though she never planned to do so. I loved Safia and Noor’s scene tonight in the living room; it was heartwarming to see how close they were now. We have all witnessed Safia unlearning everything she was conditioned to believe over the years. Her transformation has changed everything around her. It is always so good to see her giving logical replies and speaking her mind. Farida Begum continues to be rigid but she is gradually seeing things differently as well even though these changes are not being shown outwardly just yet.

Role of Parenting

Aakhir Kab Tak has in many ways shown how parents influence their children’s lives as well as their beliefs and personality. Noor and Fajar’s personalities were completely shaped up due to their upbringing. Bissam is the product of bad parenting. His mother in particular always defended him even when she knew that he was at fault. She was constantly shown making ‘excuses’ for him. He got away with everything because he was never taught to take responsibility and was never held accountable for his actions. Both these households and how the kids were raised basically show how important it is for parents to keep a balance. The personalities of these characters were largely shaped up because of the way they were brought up and that is such a good way of highlighting the importance of a balanced upbringing.

Final Remarks

Aakhir Kab Tak continues to be a refreshing drama serial that provides meaningful entertainment. Apart from Saim’s mother’s track, which was stretched, everything else has been on point. There are so many different characters that make this drama even more interesting. It does not bank on negative characters; it is good to see positive male role models in particular. Tonight’s episode was a big step forward; I am eagerly looking forward to an ending that I am sure will not disappoint.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 20 Story Review – Moving Forward

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak changed the course of all the main tracks. This was another episode with meaningful conversations but there were also some scenes that could have been chopped down. The misunderstanding between Fajar and Saim was thankfully not prolonged. Saim’s character however came across as highly confused and gullible in this particular episode. Even though this particular development in Saim and Fajar’s track was clichéd, after watching this episode I felt as if it did have a message. Noor finally accepted Nasir with all his flaws and also vowed to help him in becoming a better person. Fajar also mustered up the courage to share her true feelings with her husband.

Adeel Hussein is brilliant as Nasir even though this could easily have been an extremely annoying character! His antics are always amusing just like the daadi who isn’t the least bit likable but always fun to watch on screen! There is still room for character development which makes Aakhir Kab Tak a drama that keeps me engaged even after 20 weeks. All the actors involved have performed exceptionally well, except for Haroon Shahid. I feel he isn’t just stuck playing similar roles repeatedly but he also tends to underplay his characters every time. Apart from that, his performances lack variation. His characters are most often extremely likable and ‘harmless’ therefore he gets away with giving such performances. I absolutely love Saim’s character even after he fell for those lies but the performance could have been far more impactful. It is truly refreshing watching a drama that covers so many different women’s journeys and which shows how women can help each other grow. There are negative female characters as well but they are not being given as much screen time as the characters which are flawed yet trying their best.

Noor and Nasir

Tonight’s episode opened with Nasir ‘rescuing’ Noor and winning her over. Even though this was the first romantic scene between these two, it was more than just that. Everything Noor said about how hard women have to fight to earn respect and acceptance from men who work under them, resonated with me. This is definitely not the case in every work environment but most often women do not get the kind of instant approval that men get. I am impressed with the writer’s keen observation and the way he has picked up even the most minor difficulties women face solely because of their gender and highlighted them through different characters. From a housewife such as Safia who was not accepted as a member of the family, she was married into to Noor who could not get the acceptance she truly deserved; each one of these women represents different struggles which women fight on daily basis. They are intelligent and strong women who have survived everything and most importantly they learned to be each other’s support through their experiences.

After this latest incident, Noor started trusting Nasir more than she did before. She is now sure that even with all his flaws, he will always be by her side. It won’t be wrong to say that the way this character has been written and executed; the viewers feel the same way about Nasir. This was a major breakthrough for Nasir who had given up hope. Noor and Nasir complement each other, if Nasir is helping Noor learn the ways of the world, Noor will help him become a better person. Ushna Shah and Adeel Hussein look great together. I would love to see them working together in another project.

Nasir showed that he was completely capable of reasoning out with someone as well when he talked to Saim. Even though he forced that conversation on him, it turned out to be a fruitful one. The fact that there wasn’t an instant change in Nasir made this entire scenario more realistic.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 20 Story Review – Moving Forward

Fajar and Saim

Nilofer continues to be the typical sazishi, insecure mother-in-law who is now resorting to the cheapest tactics in order to pressurize Saim into giving Fajar a divorce. Even though Saim was confused since he fell for some of the lies, the reply he gave the rishta auntie said a great deal about his actual thoughts and feelings for Fajar. I felt that through this track the writer showed that communication is the key. The main reason why Saim doubted Fajar was because they were no longer communicating like before. Once he decided to sit down to chat with her, he was sure that Fajar was not lying. This was another major breakthrough because for the first time Fajar expressed herself freely in front of Saim, it was definitely a big step forward for someone like her.

Fajar’s character has been penned down beautifully. She represents all those young girls who are not given a chance to express themselves. Her track shows how this lack of expression and unnecessary limitations affect not just a person’s personality but also their relationships. Fajar is still hiding a major tragedy of her life from Saim. I just hope that it is tackled in such a manner that it does not create more problems for Fajar. Srha Asghar has portrayed this character faultlessly on screen right from the get-go. She continues to impress as we witness gradual transitions in the character.

Final Remarks

Farida Begum (daadi) also got the reality check we had all been waiting for! Even now she had expectations from her good-for-nothing son who told her off without giving any consideration to her feelings. This was the first time that she genuinely cried because otherwise, she has always shed tears to get attention! Tonight’s episode kept me hooked. I am still waiting for Saim’s sister to speak up! The preview of the next episode was misleading in some ways because it suggested that Saim will sign the divorce papers. Safia will speak up once again and I am very interested in finding out what the writer has in store for us this time around. Aakhir Kab Tak continues to be a well-written, meaningful drama with actors giving their characters the best.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 19 Story Review – Misunderstanding

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak banked heavily on a misunderstanding. It seems as if the writer is going to use this misunderstanding to help Saim make a decision which he should have made a long time back! Fajar still has a long way to go and Noor continues to be the most inspiring female lead in the drama. Through this character, the writer has also highlighted the difficulties and biases which women entrepreneurs have to deal with. Many working women would also be able to relate to what Noor has to go through in the drama since most often women do not get the same acceptance that male bosses instantly get. Aakhir Kab Tak’s steady pace and its meaningful script is its main strength. The Nasir-Noor track, interestingly, took a different turn than was expected. Daadi’s scenes were yet again extremely amusing, Gul-e-Rana is just as impressive as someone who finds it impossible to admit their mistake and make the much-needed changes in their attitude as the positive characters in the drama.

It is also interesting how most of the things shown in this drama are most often part of the ending of Pakistani dramas. From a woman succeeding to the negative characters being punished for their wrongdoings – Aakhir Kab Tak has picked up from where most dramas end! That is definitely one of the many aspects of this drama that make it different. The performances never disappoint and the direction is equally flawless in every episode.

Noor’s Struggles Continue

Tonight’s episode focused a great deal on all the battles which Noor was fighting on different fronts. Perhaps for the first time, she seemed tired and was confused as well. She has done everything in her power to run the business and also sort out the problems in her family but now with the recent setbacks in her factory, she is finding it difficult to juggle work and home. Noor’s vulnerabilities and frustrations make this character human, hence easier to relate to. Even though she told Nasir off, whatever he said stayed with her. She was thinking about all the problems she had faced so far and how sometimes using the tactics Nasir believed in had helped her out. I was expecting this confrontation to be more fiery but the way Nasir handled it turned things around – this was contrary to expectations.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 19 Story Review – Misunderstanding

Noor has single-handedly done what most men couldn’t have yet even now she has a lot to learn. Nasir’s experience will perhaps help her and the preview of the next episode suggested that she might try harder to do what Nasir asked her to after this recent incident. She was there to support Fajar and her mother. She also gave her daadi a much-needed reality check! I am waiting to see a change in her behavior as well. I love how Noor uses reason and logic to change the way people around her perceive and react. Daadi’s dialogues were hilarious, especially when she blamed Noor for spoiling her mother. Even though this woman is so wicked, her scenes have been penned down and acted out in such a way that she makes me laugh every single time. Ushna Shah is beyond impressive as Noor, this is one of the best characters that she has played in her entire career.

Fajar’s Track

Fajar’s track took a grim turn for now. Saim believed his mother only because she was crying and she acted so well! He was obviously not expecting her to use such tactics to make him divorce Fajar. Even though Fajar had gained some confidence, she still does not have the problem-solving abilities or the strength needed to cope with undesirable circumstances. Also, she finds it really difficult to keep secrets! This time around, she couldn’t hide the fact that she was having problems with her in-laws from her father. Last time, she told her mother about what the doctor said to their father. For now, Saim’s sister is quietly watching whatever her mother is saying and doing. However, I am pretty sure that she will speak up in the upcoming episode. Fajar and Saim make such an adorable couple, the viewers definitely want to see more of them together.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 19 Story Review – Misunderstanding

Fajar and Noor’s relationship with each other is another positive aspect of the drama. It is always good to see sisters who have such a relationship instead of watching them fight over men! The fact that Aakhir Kab Tak is free of such sazishs definitely makes it worthwhile.

Final Remarks

Safia, Noor, and Fajar are finally a family! Safia had to learn how to be a mother and it is interesting how Noor taught her how to be one! This was yet another engaging episode of a drama that never disappoints. A few weeks back, I was not sure if this drama would continue to be this meaningful and interesting. However, now I am certain that Aakhir Kab Tak will not disappoint its fans. I am looking forward to Fajar and Saim getting back together and I am wondering if their father will survive or not.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 18 Story Review – Meaningful & Poignant

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak once again focused on relationships. This episode belonged to Shahood Alvi who translated the most difficult situations not only convincingly but also effortlessly. Ushna Shah owns her character; it is truly refreshing watching her in a role that offers so much. Nilofer’s track is like a forced scenario in an otherwise brilliant drama. I am waiting for Saim to truly take a stand for himself and his wife. This drama has so many meaningful lessons for all those people who are going through similar situations. Most often Pakistani dramas focus only on the problems since the bechari aurat sells! This one however has shown how things can be turned around when the person who has never spoken up, decides to be brave! It has so many amazing female characters such as Noor, Fajar, and even Saim’s sister. Even Rehana’s character serves a purpose and is perhaps relatable for so many women out there. Yet again, this was another episode of Aakhir Kab Tak with situations that were amusing and others that were poignant and meaningful.

Speaking Up!

Safia did not hold back tonight when she decided to tell Ehtesham what had happened. After ignoring her daughter’s cries for help for years and brushing real issues under the carpet, Safia was now ready to face her demons. She was honest about the mistakes she had made in the past and was more than willing to make up for them. She also made her husband realize that he had never given her the confidence to confide in him. Until last week, I was not sure what Ehtesham was thinking and whether he would change sometime soon or not. However, tonight for the first time he showed his vulnerability in front of his wife and even daughters. Through these scenes, the writer showed how important it was for a father to give their family members the confidence to speak up.

Ever since Safia’s character has come into its own, her scenes are the highlight of every episode. It is almost as if through this character, the writer is sending a message to all those mothers who fail to be there for their daughters. Sometimes in an attempt to ‘protect’ their daughters, they end up shutting them out completely. The realization that Fajar’s personality had been affected more by her attitude towards her than anything else was such an apt way of making her take responsibility for her actions. These are the kind of scenes which we get to see only in the last few episodes of Pakistani dramas! I am genuinely pleased that the writer has given just as much screen time to such scenes as he did to those which showed Safia making all those wrong choices and decisions. Ehtesham is also witnessing first-hand how his family has failed to protect his wife and daughters which is serving as a much-needed reality check. At the same time, he can also see how his daughters and wife have looked out for him and each other. He has all the reason in the world to have more faith in them and not to trust his brother who he had so many expectations from. Shahood Alvi and Javeria Abbasi have done complete justice to their respective roles. They are brilliant actors who have proven their versatility time and again.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 18 Story Review – Meaningful & Poignant

Noor and Fajar

Noor and Fajar’s tracks were also given plenty of screen time in this episode. There was a great deal of development. They were collectively shown bonding, yet again, and individually their struggles were also shown. Fajar got the recognition and love she had been yearning for all these years. This was such a heart-warming scene; Fajar had such a difficult time accepting the fact that she could finally hug her father and cry! Saim and his sister continue to support her but her mother-in-law is a living and breathing nightmare! The writer took this opportunity as well to highlight the issue of second marriages! Fajar still has a long way to go, I am waiting for the time when she will also start speaking up for herself, the way Safia is now.

I absolutely love Noor’s character. Noor knows how to take a stand for herself and for the people she loves and at the same time she has a heart of gold – that is a rare combination! Her honesty is such an important personality trait that perhaps at times it overshadows everything else. Because she is so fair, she does not accept any kind of unfair treatment for herself too. In this episode, she requested Nasir to let his chacha and cousin go. She is also eager to give them their share in the family business. However, the fact that she did not want Bissam to get punished for his actions showed that she was being a little too soft.

The treatment she got when she went to visit Nasir was hilarious! Even though Nasir isn’t exactly a ‘good cop’ but his scenes are always so amusing! The credit for that goes to Adeel Hussein and the director as well because they did not go overboard. Nasir is constantly trying to impress Noor in whichever ways he can but she is most often not impressed easily! She felt awkward with all the VIP treatment she was being given and later on when she found out that Nasir had been helping her to bring him business, she was not pleased at all! Even though Nasir hasn’t been straight with her, I find myself rooting for this on-screen pair! Ushna Shah and Adeel Hussein’s on-screen chemistry definitely deserves due credit for making this on-screen couple one of my favorites nowadays.

Final Remarks

Aakhir Kab Tak continues to provide meaningful entertainment. Just like every other week, tonight too all the scenes added something to the story. Even though Gul-e-Rana’s character is negative but she makes me laugh every time with her apt performance as the naughty old woman who likes to cause mischief! The performances never fail to impress and the script has been penned down remarkably well. Noor and Nasir’s track held my attention tonight and even in the preview of the next episode; Noor will finally confront Nasir in next episode. I am waiting to see where this confrontation leads. Will Fajar ever have enough confidence in Saim and their relationship to stop being so scared of being left alone all the time? I am also waiting to see how far Saim will go to take a stand for his wife.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 17 Story Review – Impressive

This was another wholesome and engaging episode of Aakhir Kab Tak. This drama has successfully managed to highlight relevant social issues without getting too serious. Even though tonight’s episode had so many scenes that were emotionally charged and meaningful, there were also those scenes that made me laugh! Even some of the serious scenes were amusing given the circumstances but the message they attempted to covey was not lost. One of the best aspects of this drama is its pace; it has not dragged at all and every episode has tangible developments to its credit. Like any other well-put-together drama, Aakhir Kab Tak’s success is also the result of excellent teamwork. Many well-written dramas lose their impact and significance because the producers get greedy or the directors do not give them the right treatment. Safia’s outburst was definitely the highlight of this episode. Nilofer continues to be a complete disappointment!

Saim, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air! Unlike many other writers that bank on men who are incapable of thinking on their own, Radain Shah has given us a leading man who does not only have a big heart but is also intelligent enough to make his own decisions! Aakhir Kab Tak continues to break stereotypes and always has a pleasant surprise in store

Big Step Forward

Watching Safia take a stand for herself and her daughter in front of the entire family was definitely a first! Her character development has been gradual which is why this newfound confidence is easy to relate to. I am sure I am not the only one who was rooting for Safia when she decided to speak for herself in the loudest way possible. She was unapologetic and sure about her stance which made this scene an absolute treat to watch. The fact that she experienced Bassam’s actions first-hand, there was no doubt left in her mind and that was also the reason why she did not hold back. She was enraged and also felt guilty for not believing her daughter. This was such a good way of showing this development as opposed to showing her witnessing Bassam harass Fajar. Through this track, the writer has shown that girls are not even safe in their own homes. While parents are busy protecting their daughters from the outside world by not letting them go out, such predators are right there in the house and no one believes the girls when they come out with the truth.

Later on, Safia was also scared of the consequences which made this entire development even more realistic. Had she not shared her concerns and fears with Noor, she wouldn’t have asked Nasir for help. Nasir is also helping her otherwise because it seemed as if that deal was done at a higher rate due to his pressure. Nasir’s character keeps you guessing but overall I am enjoying watching this slightly twisted but extremely amusing character on screen. Adeel Hussein clearly enjoyed playing this character because he looks so comfortable playing the role.

Noor’s conversation with her father was another big step forward since she never tried to communicate with her father, the way she did today. For the first time, she wanted his blessings and was sure that she actually could look out for her family. Even though her tone and overall approach were the same as before but there was more warmth in her behavior than before. Ehtesham is watching everything that is going on and it remains to be seen what he deducts from it in the end. He can already see that Noor has done a great deal single-handedly and watching his brother’s behavior will give him reasons to re-evaluate his expectations from him.

Meaningful Conversations

The opening conversation between Fajar and her mother was definitely one we have all been waiting for. Safia was finally willing to listen to her daughter and Fajar had the courage to speak her mind.  Even though Fajar has always been timid but she has also been shown as an intelligent girl who understands her situation and the lack of support. Everything that she said to her mother tonight showed how sensitive and receptive she was all these years but no one wanted to listen to what she had to say. This time around too Noor was the one who convinced Safia to listen to her, for a change instead of telling her off! The writer highlighted the importance of the role of a mother and how she can turn things around for her children.

Saim’s conversation with his mother was one of the best in this episode. It is refreshing watching a male character that does not let the women in his life dictate to him. Even though Saim is a loving and sensitive man, he will never allow anyone to manipulate him. It is good to see a leading man who is loving and intelligent at the same time! He does not give in to the pressure at all; he could have lied to his mother tonight but he was honest about who he was with because he does not feel that he is doing anything wrong. The conversation that he had with his mother highlighted the double standards that exist in our society and most importantly the significance of consent in marriage. These dialogues which repeatedly assert the fact that women don’t lose their individuality or the right to choose after marriage, win me over every single time. Kudos to the writer and the producer for breaking free from regressive themes and introducing something which is the need of the hour.

Another conversation that was gelled in so well in this episode was the one between Fajar and Noor. These girls never got the kind of support that they needed from their parents. Fajar longs to be accepted and protected even now. Most kids take this protection for granted but quite often girls, in particular, do not get the kind of love and acceptance that is their birthright, from their parents. Noor and Fajar are such a good representation of all such girls out there who never get something as basic as their parents’ love. This conversation was also meaningful but not too serious which made it even more engaging, overall.

Final Remarks

Aakhir Kab Tak is a must-watch for all those viewers who are tired of watching the same old stories! If you want to watch something other than a ghissa pitta love triangle, tune into this drama and you will not be disappointed. Apart from the confusing day and night scenes, the treatment given to this episode was perfect. The performances, yet again, were on point throughout. I am eagerly looking forward to Noor and Nasir’s track in particular because the preview of the next episode suggested that Noor will find out a few things which Nasir perhaps did not want her to find out. I am also hoping that Saim stays the same and this track does not take a typical turn. So far, Aakhir Kab Tak has not disappointed and every week we get to watch something that is truly refreshing.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 16 Story Review – Character Development

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak showed even more character development and an unpleasant turn in Fajar’s track. Noor and Safia have my undivided attention at the moment because of the way their tracks are being taken forward. Noor is like a mentor to her mother, who is finally listening to her! It is good to see Ushna Shah playing such a strong and appealing character. Srha Asghar’s performance continues to impress as she translates a difficult role effortlessly on screen. I must say that the preview of the upcoming episode made me look forward to what Aakhir Kab Tak has in store for us next week, more than anything else!

Fajar and Saim’s Track

Nilofer has turned into one of those typical characters we see on screen all the time. It is sad watching a character that was introduced as a positive one take this turn! It was ultimately Rehana’s meeting with Nilofer that turned out to be the final nail in the coffin. It was however good to see Saim standing by Fajar’s side and reassuring her of his support. Fajar has always been a complete failure when it comes to defending herself therefore when she couldn’t say much in her own defense, it made perfect sense. She has only lately started sharing things with Saim and has never really been able to take a stand for herself. The way Saim explained the entire situation to his father was a good way of letting the viewers know his take on this entire subject. Also, Fajar and Saim’s conversation in the room when he asks her to stay at her mother’s place for a while was so well written and executed. Fajar went through so many different emotions in that particular scene and Srha Asghar made sure that all of these emotions came alive on screen.

Fajar obviously did not want to leave; she knew that she did not have a choice. Even in such a situation, she tried to make Saim feel less guilty and even thanked him. I absolutely love how well these characters have been etched out. Everything that they do is always in line with their personality trait which gives the script more clarity. Such minute details make a drama engaging and characters easy to connect to. Saim’s father and sister also lend their support so that Fajar wouldn’t feel insulted even though she was being kicked out of the house. They also showed their displeasure with the decision by refusing to have breakfast with Nilofer! Nilofer might be a typical saas at the moment but there was nothing typical about how this development was handled overall.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 16 Story Review – Character Development

Safia’s Track

Safia’s track is gradually moving forward. Even though she claims that she is not fearful anymore and she definitely is not hesitant speaking her mind anymore, old habits die hard! The way she told Fajar off when she arrived and accused him of being interested in Basaam was the kind of reaction she was ‘conditioned’ to giving for all these years! As this episode progressed, things changed in that department as well which was definitely extremely pleasant. Once again Noor was the one who made her realize how she had failed to provide the kind of emotional support Fajar needed from a mother. Although this wasn’t the first time that Noor had this conversation with her mother, this time around it seemed as if whatever she said actually left an impact. There was a change in Safia’s behavior and she no longer thought Fajar’s presence in the house was ‘threatening’ in any way.

The highlight of this track tonight definitely had to be Safia’s scene with her husband. Yet again, the writer in an intelligent manner summed up the expectations Safia had as a young bride and how little she expected as the realities of this marriage set in! Everything she said also gave the viewers information about how this couple drifted apart over the years. Her dialogue about how shifting to the other room after the kids were in the equation and how her household responsibilities gradually took over her entire life summed her married life up so well! I am certain a lot of women out there can relate to the loneliness if not the fear that Safia felt all these years when she invested herself completely in pleasing everyone and completely forgot what her expectations from this marriage were initially. Javeria Abbasi has been performing brilliantly throughout. Even though most often the evil daadi scenes can be a pain to watch, Gul-e-Rana makes these scenes entertaining most of the time!

Final Remarks

This was another well-written and well-executed episode of Aakhir Kab Tak. The gradual and convincing character development is the strongest element of this drama. I am glad the writer did not wait for the last two episodes to show all this! The preview of the next episode was extremely gratifying – I can’t wait to tune into Aakhir Kab Tak next week.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 15 Story Review – Breaking Stereotypes

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak focused more on Noor and Safia. Noor continues to impress and entertain at the same time. Unlike the previous few episodes, Fajar’s track is quickly headed in an unpleasant direction. Most of the tracks in this drama continue to be refreshing and are getting even more interesting with every passing episode. Dramas such as this one give viewers hope that the writers can still pen down characters and scenarios which are not run-of-the-mill. Radain Shah’s script continues to be convincing even though some of the negative characters are not ‘brand new’! Tonight things moved forward with a steady pace and all the developments were logical. Nasir’s meeting with Noor’s chacha was the highlight of this episode; Noor’s dialogues were powerful and meaningful. Ushna Shah has owned this role right from the get-go. Adeel Hussein’s expressions when they left the venue were priceless.

Giving Reality Checks

Tonight’s episode opened with Safia recalling everything she had gone through and making a promise to herself that she was no longer going to tolerate the insults she had been putting up with all her married life. It is always pleasing watching such a change in a character in the middle of the story as opposed to seeing one in the last few episodes. Although Safia put up with years of abuse without saying a word, she is done with giving justifications for her abusers and is ready to start over. This particular scene, just like so many others tonight, was penned down and translated on screen powerfully! The writer has shown through this character and its journey that once someone decides to stand up for themselves, no one can stand against them.

I also loved everything she said to her husband. For the first time, she gave him a much-needed reality check. At the same time, she made him realize that unlike him she was not going to take advantage of his present condition. Safia has gone from being a complete coward to being completely fearless; I am waiting to find out how this change in her personality impacts the lives of her daughters. The way she questioned Noor when she came back home suggested that not much has changed in that department. Javeria Abbasi’s performance was on point throughout.

Fajar and Saim

Fajar and Saim deserve a special mention because of the intelligent manner in which the writer is taking their track forward. Through the scene and conversation in the car, the writer showed that Fajar had finally started expressing herself. Not only that, she shared details about the kind of problems she has been facing in her house which once again went to show that she trusted Saim just as much as he trusted her. Saim’s dialogue about trusting Fajar suggested that he is the kind of man who will not question or judge his wife even when he finds out about the assault. I really hope that he does not disappoint me. I loved Srha Asghar’s expressions in this particular scene. The way she shows her admiration for this man through her facial expressions is pure genius! Her performance makes it even easier to relate to and feel for this character.

The overprotective and insecure mother turning into an unbearable mother-in-law part of this track is definitely not my favorite! This character had potential and it didn’t have to be taken to such an extreme. Rehana’s meeting with Fajar’s mother-in-law was quite unexpected. The writer laid the foundations for this meeting in the beginning of the episode therefore her motive was quite clear!

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 15 Story Review – Breaking Stereotypes

Noor and Nasir

Noor and Nasir’s track is extremely cute and meaningful as well! The way these two finally met for lunch and the chance meeting with the chacha were some of the best scenes tonight. Nasir’s conversation with his mother was used to convey to the viewers the reason why he fell in love with Noor. It is always good to see a man in a Pakistani drama that is not afraid to fall in love and spend the rest of his life with a woman like Noor. Most men would be intimated by her but Nasir finds this part of her personality attractive. He is turning out to be an even more interesting character than I imagined he would be! Watching Noor give his chacha a piece of her mind with the utmost confidence was the best part of this episode. Noor’s character never fails to impress; I love how it is written and acted out. Adeel Hussain and Ushna Shah’s on-screen chemistry makes their scenes an absolute treat to watch! Nasir’s character is intriguing as well.

Final Remarks

Aakhir Kab Tak is turning out to be a well-written, meaningful and entertaining drama. I really hope that it continues to break stereotypes even though the preview of the next episode wasn’t too promising; I still have hope that the writer will once again resolve this situation just as quickly as all the others, so far. The actors and the director deserve tons of credit for doing complete justice to a beautifully penned-down script.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 14 Story Review – Heartwarming

Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak was an important and satisfying one. Some of the characters that have been suffering for so long have finally come into their own. I was skeptical about watching this drama because quite a few dramas in the recent past used serious issues to gain TRPs. However, watching Aakhir Kab Tak so far has been a pleasantly surprising experience. The script and its execution have been on point throughout these 14 weeks.

Thoughts So Far

Even though there are so many new dramas on air nowadays but I chose to review Aakhir Kab Tak because of its solid storyline and realistic portrayals throughout. Some of the situations and characters might not be brand new but their role in the drama has been shown more effectively than in many other dramas. The highlight of Aakhir Kab Tak has to be those characters that break stereotypes convincingly, one step at a time! Noor’s character has definitely been a breath of fresh air throughout and even Fajar’s vulnerabilities and weaknesses have been used to put forward a much-needed message. Ushna Shah and Srha Asghar have been outstanding in their respective roles. Saim’s character is another reason why this drama has been on my must-watch list. I do feel however that some other actor should have been chosen to play the role since Haroon Shahid has played such characters repeatedly and somehow he does not add that extra spark to such characters. He simply translates what is written in the script on screen and I feel that sometimes such characters need so much more than that. Having said that, Saim is, of course, an extremely likable character. If he had more of a screen presence, this character would have been far more popular right now.

It is also good to see Adeel Hussain performing with the same confidence which was his forte when he worked on his earlier projects. Every character in Aakhir Kab Tak has a story and it keeps your interest alive. The pace of the drama has been steady as well; there have been no filler episodes so far. Javeria Abbasi’s performance has been on point but her overall look never went well with the role she is playing. I can’t wait to see Rihana getting a taste of her own medicine but at the same time, I can’t help but applaud Erum Akhtar for a phenomenal performance. She always makes her presence felt. Last but not the least, Farida Begum (Gul-e-Rana) never ceases to amuse with her antics without undermining the reason for her presence in the show. I am totally invested in everyone’s journey and all these characters continue to grow as each episode goes forward. The only recent development in the story that has disappointed me are the saas-bahu issues in Saim’s house. Saim’s mother has turned into a typical overprotective mother who is looking out for the interest of her son even though he wants to be left alone.

Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 14 Story Review – Heartwarming

Tonight’s Episode

This recent episode had so many heart-warming and gratifying scenes to its credit. From Saim and Fajar’s feelings for each other to Safia finally speaking up; everything was executed brilliantly. Tonight’s episode of Aakhir Kab Tak opened with Noor giving her mother yet another much-needed lecture on self-esteem and on putting herself first for a change. Safia’s initial reaction was the same as before but the negation wasn’t as intense as it was previously. She has been shown gradually losing her calm in the past too. It has always been difficult for her to listen to her mother-in-law’s never-ending demeaning remarks therefore ultimately when she decided to give her a piece of her mind, it was convincing as well as satisfying. Noor has to be the reason why her mother finally decided to change her ways. And of course, the treatment that she was being given was getting too much to bear especially when she also had the support of her daughter now. Safia is the perfect representation of so many homemakers who have innumerable duties and no rights!

Saim felt guilty after finding out that his mother had talked to Fajar’s mother. He has always been there for his wife but this time around, he did not fulfill his duties as a husband. It is pretty clear by now that he takes these duties very seriously! Saim’s mother raised a gentleman but now she wants to take control because she thinks that he has been ‘wronged’. However, it was so good to watch Saim stand his ground despite all the pressure and opposition from his mother. That scene showing how he leaves for the office and Fajar holds on to his shirt for comfort and support was the best! It is absolutely refreshing watching a leading man with a conscience. His care and concern for his wife are being shown as something which is ‘normal’, he is not being presented as someone with extraordinary qualities which sends out a really strong message. It is almost as if God has made up for all of Fajar’s misfortunes by blessing him with a life partner such as Saim.

Even though Fajar is clearly in love with her husband and trusts him, the hug tonight was the first time that she was comfortable getting physically close to him. The way she held on to him was similar to the way she has been holding on to her mother and sister’s duppata for support. The writer has used such symbols and gestures to show different sides of this character’s personality especially because she is not too expressive otherwise. This was such an intelligent way to show that Saim had finally earned her trust. Srha Asghar is beyond amazing as a girl who finds it extremely difficult to express herself. Fajar’s social anxiety and lack of confidence couldn’t have been translated on screen more remarkably. I hope that Saim’s reaction when he finds out the truth about Fajar’s past is also covered in a way that sends out a positive message.

Saim’s mother’s character has taken a turn for the worse but it still makes sense. She has an ‘explanation’ for her behavior and she feels she is simply looking out for her son. However, I really hope that Saim figures a way out and this saas-bahu track is not given a lot of screen time. Bassam has learned to cheat his parents from them! This would be the perfect retribution for them. This family is a true depiction of how not to raise your children! These children have constantly been part of all the plotting and planning that went into ensuring that Noor and Fajar were dominated by them. Also, Bassam’s mother in particular always covered up for him therefore it does not come as a surprise that he turned out to be this way. Even though we have seen this track so many times in dramas but I always find it highly relatable and I feel that this is a message that needs to be repeated since there are so many children out there who turn into criminals because their parents cover up their wrongdoings.

Bassam and Noor’s meeting yet again showed how Noor knew how to put him in his place. It has always been especially satisfying watching Noor tell him off repeatedly even when she was not this independent and had no one’s support. Noor finally warmed up to Nasir tonight. She is intelligent enough to know that he is interested in him and for the first time she thought he was worthy of her company. I am glad that Noor took her time and she did so in such an interesting manner. Noor and Nasir’s interactions have been cute and amusing at the same time. Nasir’s brother had already warned him therefore he was always really cautious while showing his ‘concern’ for Noor. Nasir has told Noor many lies and has a shady side to his personality as well. I am waiting to find out more about him. Ushna Shah and Adeel Hussain’s on-screen chemistry and their well-rounded characters make their scenes a treat to watch. Nasir is also not being honest with Noor so it remains to be seen how she will react when she finds out the truth!

Final Remarks

Aakhir Kab Tak is a must-watch for all those viewers who want to watch a drama that offers quality and meaningful entertainment. After playing a bold and vocal character in Pyar Ke Sadqay, Srha Asghar excels in playing a completely different role in this drama. Ushna Shah makes Noor even more likable and all the supporting actors are equally impressive. Although ‘adhoori hu mei’ always annoyed me but when I heard the OST I realized that this adhoorapan was due to years of neglect as well as rejection and not because of the assault. This was another exciting and uplifting episode of a drama that never fails to impress.

Aahista Aahista 07 – Oh Phuleeez!!!

0

You know what? I used to laugh a lot whenever I caught the glimpses of Star Plus dramas as they used to treat household chores as a pivotal part of the story. I never knew there would be a Pakistani drama that would focus on gharelu kaam just to prove a certain point too. Also I think I owe my awesome readers a disclaimer & that is whenever you read the word Awazaar, just know that I am talking about Zawaar. His character has impressed me so much that I have decided to change his name. :)

I actually wish Sarwat Gillani had a better dialogue except for chanting ‘Oh Phuleeeeez’, ‘Oh Phuleeeeeez’ because by the end of the episode there came a time when I heard myself saying ‘Oh Please’ too. I wish when Haya went on a grocery spree, she had bought a pacifier for Sofia, so that she could use it as a ‘dhakkan’ to keep Sofia’s mouth shut. What an annoyance I must say. So what actually happened in this episode? Awazaar was busy running & gardening, Haya filled the bucket of tears to pour some on the flowers, she was doing everything that a housemaid would do & charge $90 for it. Haya would also pour her heart out in a novel like manner in her diary & Sofia would roll her eyes like an owl. Ta-da, this is what episode 07 was all about.

For the first time today I saw the whole title song of the drama & I saw Shehroz Sabzwari in it. I think he’s going to act like Haya’s lifeline because as far as I think, he’d be playing a role of Nousherwaan (Javed Sheikh) Uncle’s son. I am glad they have included Javed Sheikh in the drama too because to see those three withered faces of Awazaar, Haya & Sofia was becoming quite burdensome.

Awazaar had no intentions of feeling remorse for Haya but just because Honey Bee called him & reminded him of his duties, all of a sudden he had a change of heart. I am actually not buying this so-called fact that a man almost in his early 40’s is such a child that he needs someone to hold his finger & show him the way. I never knew a chicken’s life is so long? Does he has no spine of his own where he can actually stand by what’s right & what isn’t. He thinks praising Haya’s ‘salan’ or reminding Sofia of her bad behavior is enough. & what’s with the new trend of referring to the moms like ‘Bee Jaan’ ‘Dai Jaan’ ‘Bee Amman’ ‘Bee Gul’. Ammi kehne walay kahan gaye bahiii???

Even though he had no role to play in this episode whatsoever but thank you Awazaar once again for giving us a reason to loathe you. He didn’t forget reminding Haya of how much she loves Bumble Bee & vice versa, so he was actually trying to talk her out of her decision of returning to Pakistan. With a meesna muh of his, he also felt it was important to know what conversation Nousherwaan Uncle had with Haya, because he was too scared of getting busted for having Aik Nahi Do Do Biwiyaan. Tauba Tauba!!!

Finally, seems like chicken will become a rooster in the next episode & he will stand by his decision & will not let Haya return to Pakistan. I am thinking he got bored by eating the Indian curries so just because Haya rekindled his Pakistani taste buds, he’s thinking she’s too precious to let go off. & what’s with the ‘patti’, ‘patti’, ‘patti’ ki ratt. Sorry to say but there’s nothing about Sofia that speaks Indian to me. She dresses like a Pakistani, speaks Urdu fluently like all of us, so the unnecessary usage of single Hindi word doesn’t really justify the purpose of showing her as an Indian. I wish they had done some sort of a homework before making this play. Share your thoughts on this masterpiece OH PHULEEEEEEEEZ!

Aahista Aahista # 17 – Slow Poison!

Tauba! Viewers ki jaan lainge kya? Ugh! I feel so irritated & furious because this is how Hum TV treats its viewers on a Sunday night; this is how they put an end to the week with an absolute boorish drama. I mean I feel so angry that it’s not even funny anymore. Not sure how did they manage but imagine an episode which practically had nearly no dialogues whatsoever was still a reason of noise pollution in the house. Tauba!!!

As usual, Ruby acted as Maham once again & even after getting snubbed by Sofia, she continued with her stupidest of advises. She wanted Sofia to come to her home so that she could eat the remaining brain Sofia’s left with & also so that she could brain-feed her against Awazaar as well. I’m sorry but seems like the lady who has played the roles of Maham & Ruby is someone who can’t see any couple because she is allergic to married people, that’s why she makes sure she pushes all the wrong buttons to fulfill her wish of wrecking someone’s home. The first scene & the scenario was just so similar to that of Shukk where after Sehrish loses her baby, Maham swoops in like her false Messiah & just now when Sofia lost her baby, Ruby was ready to hit the nail in the coffin. I am sure as she met her purpose in this drama; she’d be on a project hunt these days where her expertise in breaking homes would be required. The suggestion she gave to Sofia about getting separated from Awazaar was just so ridiculous. Instead of making her calm & forcing her to think rationally, she didn’t waste an opportunity of doing what she’s good at & yes that is wrecking someone’s home.

1

Sofia has pretty much understood that Awazaar has gotten bored of her because he got used to Haya so after she gathered herself from her fragile mental & physical state, she decided she wanted a divorce because there was nothing left in this relation anyways & I think she took the best decision ever because there was no reason in staying with a manless man. I think a slap would’ve been a perfect way of coming to a closure.

Finally, we found a woman who was against Awazaar & felt he was inhumane; she was Mrs. Nousherwan. I am glad that she proved to be that one single lady who spoke against him because all the others were just so blindly in love with a man who ruined their lives. & yeah after 2 months Awazaar met Haya & whatever she said did come as a surprise but I knew she didn’t mean what she was saying as wo to bohat hi naik parveen shareek-e-hayaat hain jo apne zang-lagay sartaaj ko kabhi nahi utaraingee. She’s someone who doesn’t know how to take a stand for herself because if she had known better, she would’ve sent him a divorce notice like Sofia as well. Even though she seemed agitated, I am sure she’d scurry back to Awazaar exactly how a hungry mouse scurries at a sight of Swiss cheese.

The preview was just so annoying as usual because seems like after Haya’d demand divorce from Awazaar, he’ll pull off an act of fake suicide which will resurface the buried mohabbat Haya has for Awazaar & she will return to him. At this point I feel inhain jo karna hai karain, larain, marain but bas hamari jaan chorain aur Aahista Aahista bilkul nahi balkay JALDI JALDI. Share your thoughts please!

Cheers,

Aahista Aahista – Episode 16!

What luck! Never knew on such a bright sunny day & after such a good night’s sleep, I’d have to tune to this moronically depressing episode. You really know you have no sympathy for the characters when you end up smiling at a death scene. Chalo! One’s down & there was a chance of getting to two but seems like Bumble Bee transferred her luck to Haya & she was alive.

Coll

Looks like everyone in this drama was blaming everyone else for their mistakes. Awazaar blamed Sofia for making that ‘jaanleva, jaanlevaaa, teri har ada sitam hai, oh jaanleva’ phone call to Bumble Bee. Shireen Apa blamed Awazaar for getting married to Haya whereas she was the one who played the role of being a rishte karanay wali aunty & got them both hitched. Looks like no one in this drama is capable of standing by the mistakes they’ve done & find it really easy to blame others for things they have to go through as a consequence of their own doing. Awazaar actually accepted that he was responsible for hurting Bee Jaan but seems like he didn’t mean what he said because we later saw him calling Sofia ‘mujrim’, ‘tang dil’ & the epic ‘zehreeli’, who dass-ed Bee Jaan because of which she died. Haha! I really don’t understand that what did Sofia do to hear it all? All she did was to introduce herself as Mrs. Awazaar to Bumble Bee that too at a point where she was carrying Baby Awazaar, so how does it make her a culprit?

3

I really don’t think getting married on your own is such a big sin where someone can cast your out for it? I must say Bumble Bee’s timing was really cool, she woke up & said things she wanted to & then opted for a long sleep. Followed by Shireen Apa’s reaction to Awazaar’s marriage. I am guessing Bumble Bee never really got a chance to know exactly that Sofia was an Indian-Christian, so what made her so upset? She has loved Awazaar to a blinding point so at least she should’ve given him a benefit of  doubt to explain himself because when you first hear her name, Sofia sounds pretty Pakistani to me, right? Looks like Bumble Bee, being a lazy-bee, was in a hurry to wrap up her role so that she could rest, hence she made such a hasty decision. LOL!

This episode in particular had so many flaws & faults that it clearly showed the disinterest of the creative team behind this drama. Seems like aahista aahista they got over the junoon of making Aahista Aahista & starting making such silly mistakes. For starters, which airport’s parking lot looks like a parking of the construction site? Shireen Apa was sitting exactly in the same position when Safeer Bhai started calling Awazaar thinking he must’ve reached by now. FYI, Safeer Bhai, Awazaar took a flight to USA & not to Dhok Hassu. & the ultimate bad editing of the bad background in one of the scenes which could’ve been shot at a proper Amreekan location so why the need of an edited backdrop?

The only thing that could’ve bound Sofia & Awazaar was Baby Awazaar but now when the baby’s gone, I doubted their relation having a chance & I was proven right in the preview of next episode that Sofia might file for a divorce & the timing will once again support Awazaar as he’ll stumble upon Haya. I think next episode might be the last, I mean I really hope it is, but now when I come to think of it, what message did the drama writer try to give? May be it was more like a lesson to teach to all those Non-Pakistani ladies who might fall for Pakistani men, showing them that no matter how much time & love you’d invest in your relationship, a Pakistani man would only be loyal to a Pakistani woman & her parathas? Is that what she was trying to tell? I am actually shocked to see the production team wasting such a huge amount of money at such a pathetic story & they actually had the guts to turn this hideous script into a drama, LOL! I wish it ends soon, as abb to hasi bhi nahi aati.

Aahista Aahista – Episode 15!

0

Tauba Tauba! Don’t you hate it when a 45 y/o conniving man stammers to prove he’s innocent? Don’t you hate it when a person who’s supposed to die (Bumble Bee) lives because only God knows which chakki ka atta she ate? Don’t you hate it when you have to watch Aahista Aahista, Aahista Aahista?

*Sigh* apni taraf se becharon ne bara hi koi twist dala tha, which actually made no sense at all. Haya was swinging on her Sartaaj’s shoulder when she & Awazaar got busted. That point was ohkay, but what didn’t make sense was that even after Sofia caught them red-handed, she said all the things she wasn’t supposed to say but forgot to utter one single word & that was WHY? WHY was Haya clinging onto Awazaar like that? WHY did Awazaar let Haya get so close to him? During that confrontation I thought this would be the time when Awazaar will spill the beans but oh boy! I must ask Bumble Bee ne isay kya kha k paida kiya tha? Itna dheet admi? My Goodness!

1

I thought after finding out the flick between Haya & Awazaar, Sofia will pretty much understand what was going on but still someone who has been so literate & in her right state of mind couldn’t reckon the fact that Haya could be Awazaar’s wife of all the things. Amidst the havoc, Sofia was more worried ke Awazaar ke nashtay ke anday thanday na ho jayein. Give me a break!

I think this slap should’ve been enough for Haya to wake up from her deep slumber that even shows the signs on her face now but I don’t think she got the point still? If Awazaar had loved her as much as he claimed, he would’ve swooped in the cat fight & told Sofia about Haya’s status but just because he lisps, wo apni baat samjha na saka. Even when Nowsherwaan Uncle asked him, he returned without even answering.

The only time I felt bad actually for Awazaar was when he burnt the toasts. I mean, isn’t it so sad that he is deprived of hearing the POP sound of an automatic toaster? :/ It’s like music to ears when one’s preparing the breakfast but I think just because Awazaar was born in the 1950’s, that manual toaster belongs to that era, hence it requires one’s complete attention otherwise you’ll see your brown bread turning black, acting more like a mirror to you so that you could face your kalay kartoot. :/ I actually feel so bad that I’d request all the readers to observe a minute of silence please! *pop* woot woot, my bread’s ready!

3

Haya went to Nowsherwaan uncle’s place, but after that she vanished like a Casper. Kahan gai kisi ko kuch pata nahi? But Sofia took it as an opportunity to clear off Haya’s belongings, as if she had so much? All this while I thought Awazaar was living in a mansion but seems like they didn’t even have a space to accommodate Haya’s letters.

Sofia overheard Awazaar talking to Bumble Bee on the phone & still she was in a denial or let’s say had no mind whatsoever to connect the dots to understand what was going on behind her back? In the initial episodes when Awazaar goes to Pakistan, we heard them both talk to each other about Haya where Sofia even asked Awazaar that Haya was his baby cousin or so & for this reason I just don’t understand what took Sofia so long to realize that Haya was no one else but Awazaar’s cousin & possibly his wife?

Looks like seriously is drama mai Awazaar ka koi kaam hai hi nahi because the ladies do everything & take things in their hands & for this reason Sofia decided to break the ice & let Bumble Bee know about herself. The things Bumble Bee said to Sofia showed that Bumble Bee was under the influence of sedation inflicted by the sleeping pills she takes.

2

Finally, Sofia has found out that her Awazaar is not so innocent & she shouldn’t fall prey to his lisping methods to measure his innocence. The preview of the next episode to be honest looked engaging though. LOL! Itna kuch hone k baad shayad waqay hi mai they want to show us something. I honestly believe that they all sighted a mood for a vacation & when they landed there, they decided to make a drama to kill the boredom. Seriously, I wish this drama ends soon & not at all Aahista Aahista!

Aahista Aahista – Episode 14!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Don’t know how to begin this review because whatever has just happened is ridiculous & I really don’t know how to put it in decent words. I know it’s going to be a big struggle for me to maintain the limits that certain someone has just crossed.

4

So, Haya there you have it, another proof of Awazaar’s sincerity towards you, LOL! While he was there promising his remaining few years of life to Haya, he ended up making a lifelong promise to Sofia in a form of their child. That’s just so cool, isn’t it? How do we put it, at one point Awazaar is so innocent that he lisps, but on the other hand he’s just…hmm chalain rehne dete hain!

Haya’s bechargi has reached the seventh sky too where she knows that Awazaar’s spine’s pretty crippled that’s why she took up the job of being a Maali along with being a Maasi of the house too. Haya’s so considerate that she knows if she’d do the chores that Awazaar’s supposed to do, it will result in a few moments of nazr-e-karam that she might get from her zang laga sartaaj. Haya’s well aware of the fact that Awazaar’s spineless back must be hurting from swaying like a pendulum between the two wives, therefore she thought let’s help him out. I really don’t understand what the writer here’s trying to tell that girls who get wronged are supposed to put up with every single crap that comes their way? So, why didn’t she name the Baby Biwi a doormat instead?

1

Sofia’s ready to enjoy the new phase that has just begun in her life but I am sorry to say, she looks like a loon who’s so self-absorbed that she can’t sense the indifference of her husband? All this while, she kept on nagging about the distance she felt was coming in between them but can’t she see her husband’s forlorn face that has become 1 foot long? Can’t she see that he’s not even excited to hear the news of a baby? Obviously, he should’ve been a grand-dad by now but still, no signs of happiness at all? All he does is ask her to rest so that he can rekindle the affair with Haya, but Sofia mistakes it as his love & attention?

Once again the unwanted stone (Ruby) tumbled in with her bizarre ideas thinking she’d prove to be Sofia’s saviour whereas she was the one who went to the hospital & heard what the doctors said, that Sofia supposed to stay happy but nahi, ye to hain hi adaat se majboor, so a gain apni Shukki shaksiyat ko le ke.

3

Even after Sofia said what was brain-fed to her, Awazaar lisped thinking whatever she did was right? Another shock that came to me was the news that this mansion consisted of only 2 rooms, that’s why they couldn’t accommodate Haya somewhere else? LOL! I mean how spineless can Awazaar be where at one point he supports Sofia for her stupidity but the very next moment he makes himself look more stupid saying he knows what Haya’s going through? I hope he can grow up a bit & become in charge of the house rather than being a pedo-bhai-in-the-house.

I think the best solution is to pack Haya’s bags & send her to Pakistan, but then oh, Sofia’s going through the most unusual pregnancy where she can’t even walk (!?!?!) so Awazaar ke parathay maray jayeinge. Chalo Haya ko koi aitraaz nahi to hamain kya? I am glad that this episode ended at a funny note for me at least because by the end of next episode’s preview, I loved the way Bumble Bee swerved & fell down (not to be missed, that too in her signature sleepwear). Itna drama to meinne kisi dramay mai bhi nahi dekha. :D Share your say bhai!

Aahista Aahista – Episode 13!

Kismat

Aye Haye! After a ridiculous previous episode, I thought this one would be a lot more humorous but sorry it was PP: Pathetic Personified. This episode was all about Haya, her split second smiles & hours long brow furrowing which gave me some wrinkles on my forehead as well.

This episode was all about Haya, her self-assumed confidence & then a few well-deserved slaps of reality checks. She looked at Sofia with a sympathetic smile feeling that deep down she has won a VINTAGE trophy that belongs to Sofia but just pretty soon, Sofia brought her back to the ground from cloud 9 & made her understand that she was literally a no one in Awazaar’s life. This episode kept on revolving around how Haya was on a high knowing that now she will be able to lead a life as Mrs. Awazaar & just finding out the next moment that by the end of the day, all that mattered to Awazaar were some spices that she added in the salan that she made for her sartaaj because he’s too wuss to clear his throat & raise a voice in front of Sofia to let her know who Haya actually was. All that I saw her doing in this episode was:

Collage

It was such a boring episode which came with a few dhak dhak sound effects as if they were successful in delivering some suspense which was nothing but an epic fail once again because those thrilling moments weren’t as thrilling as they thought they’d be, why? Because we’ve been there, seen that so many times that I am sure any toddler would be able to tell beforehand that what was going to happen. Awazaar was at the verge of telling Sofia about her Baby Sautan but his phone rang & he left. That’s just so NEWWW isn’t it? Later when he gave another shot at it, Sofia dozed off (LOL) showing him just exactly how boring his company & how contagious his tiredness is. That’s pretty new too? Wow!

While Haya kept on revolving around the town like a ghost, she thought she would now be able to live her life with her head held high as Awazaar must’ve told Sofia about their relation but her smile turned into a frown followed by what she’s good at & yes you guessed it right – soundless cries because she found out that Awazaar has not mustered up enough of a courage as he is so innocent that he lisps.

Ghost

Time & again Haya kept on telling him off as she was hurt but sadly just because she happens to have an attention span of a poodle she couldn’t see that he can’t still take a stand for her & all his promises are nothing but a farce, yet she still claims to love him wholeheartedly. Talk about being loyal or blind to a fault. Bee Jaan made an appearance to remind us that she’s perfectly doing what she’s expert at too & yes, she was all cozed up in her bed ready to sleep wearing her purple-white sleepwear that she might’ve stuck onto herself using Fevicol. No wonder why Awazaar seems so lethargic, sleepy & lazy because after seeing Bee Jaan’s activities, it clearly shows that it runs in the family. *yawwwwwnnnnnnn* mujhe bhi neend a gai!

Well, Maham of Shukk appeared as Ruby of Slowly Slowly. I mean the whole conversation between Sofia & Ruby reminded me just so much of Shukk because it was so predictable & old. I really don’t think anyone’s beauty is such a big issue to be worried about that just because according to them, a beautiful kancha-kali is living in Sofia’s house so she should be cautious but don’t they remember that the best thing Sofia did all these years was to trust her husband & have confidence in herself & their relation but just because some Haya has entered her life, she should be worried ONLY about her beauty? That’s just so odd. I really wish they had made that conversation a bit more realistic because at one point Ruby kept on saying that Awazaar was the most loving husband ever known to her but then she was haunting Sofia with Haya’s khoobsurati.

Another thing that doesn’t really seem right is that Sofia’s someone who can sniff her husband’s cologne from a distance of 50 meters but just when she’s downstairs preparing a breakfast, Awazaar is knocking the door to have a chat with Haya & not only that, he manages to enter the room without even bothering that he might get busted. I really wish the director had taken care of these things but looks like Aahista Aahista wo bhi seekh hi jayeinge, Aahista Aahista, Aahista Aahista, Aahista Aahista, Aahista Aahista. Oh & yes finally we know that Awazaar goes to some office but I was also amazed to know that despite being so tired he’s a superman because he could walk all the way from his office to his home to spot Haya crying tankers at the nearby walking track.

I must say the unnecessary shower shot of sleepy Awazaar (yukh) & all these meaningless forced hugs could’ve been skipped. If they’ve shot this drama in Amreeka, doesn’t mean they can forget that the audience of this drama aren’t Amreekans anyways. & oh yes, just as I thought, they’ve pretty much showed it all in the preview of next episode that Sofia’s going to be preggers & Haya & Awazaar will get busted. I really hope they don’t show us something so NEW that it turns out to be a dream sequence. I wish Sofia’s wide awake to see the harakaats of her sleepy husband. Aahista Aahista – Episode 12!

Chalain jee, ladies & gentlemen please grab some pillows & quilts & be ready to sleep because this drama will act as a lullaby to you all because saaf si baat hai yahan andon, parathon aur raiton se aggay baat nahi janay wali. I am wondering if they had to show nashtay mai khanay ki 101 cheezain, why did they go to USA for it? This could’ve been shot in Pakistan too.

I am totally on Sofia’s team this time. Whatever she said about Bumble Bee was right & I wish she gets a bit more harsh about her whenever she speaks to Beta Bee about Bumble Bee because Awazaar needs to understand that now he can’t make Sofia respect his Bumble Bee, as he himself gave her an edge of disrespecting her by getting married to her, keeping his mother’s wishes aside. Very conveniently Awazaar uttered to Sofia that Bumble Bee means the world to him & she is his priority, which really didn’t strike a chord because I’ve got a news for you Awazaar, you’ve spent 4 years fooling Bee Jaan, so please don’t say she means everything to you. This episode seemed pretty haphazard where they kept on switching from one dining table to the other followed by some forced VT’s of American places to assure us that they shot this drama in America & not in Dhok Hassu! Bee Jaan came & Bee Jaan went, but who benefitted from it? No one!

Just when Bee Jaan departed, I thought Awazaar; who by the way could afford two mansions in USA, would keep Haya in a dingy apartment, but the way he brought her with him in his house was totally uncalled for. I thought by now he must’ve massaged his spine with a lot of Deep Heat so that he could strengthen it to confess in front of Sofia about his & Haya’s marriage but trust me, seeing them play ankh micholi rigth under Sofia’s nose wasn’t appeasing at all. What has this drama come to? Eeekh!!! All that nazron ka milna, nazron ka churana, mobile ka bhool jana aur thakki hui muskurahatain dena…Euuuu!!!

1

Just because Haya helped Awazar in fooling his Bholi Bumble Bee, he thinks he can’t live without her as ush ne ish ka booottt saath diya hai nawwww. I mean sorry but how mean can he be & isn’t he tired of telling lies 24/7? Bari himmat ki baat hai bhai, sach mai waisay! While watching Sofia literally feed him with her hands made me think, this is the reason why he has become such a spoiled brat. I actually want to ask writer what made her conceive of such a useless character where she thought so high of him that every single lady in his orbit ended up revolving around him? He ain’t such a catch either FYI!

Finally, just because Haya got to spend time with Awazaar & she helped him with his hoax, she now thinks that she has conquered Awazaar & that is why while pouring her heart out in her diary she was like ‘Awazaar mujhse bohat mohabbat karte hain Bee Jaan, isi liye wo abb mujhe dekh dekh k saib khatay hain’. I mean but sorry as if Sofia kam thi na jo abb ye bhi a gai hai patti ke pyaar ka pahara parhne!

To be honest, as ridiculous as this episode was, I had such a good laugh because my imagination rolled & made it look like I was watching a sit-com. Hence, for me it was a good episode. The ending scene of the drama looked like an advert of Statelife Insurance, which goes like:

2

& oh about what they showed in the preview, I think Sofia must be expecting a child that’s why she’d faint & that will once again slow down the urge of Awazaar to confess his love for his Baby Biwi, hence, another justification of the name of the drama: Slowly Slowly. Share your thoughts on this hilarious episode. :)

Aahista Aahista – Episode 11!

0

I am sorry but this drama has taken the most ridiculous turn ever. Seems like the writer was really bored so she barfed this story all over the pages, without any insight & without any know-how of penning down a proper story with some real & honest characters.

Just because Haya shooed Awazar away in the first scene when he threw a tantrum at her for speaking to Mustafa, Awazar has had a quick realization that just because some girl told him off & hurt his peanut ego, he now can’t live without her & wants to get her just because for a moment she didn’t nappify him. I wish Sofia had done the same thing so that Awazaar would’ve stayed in his limits. Just because she literally spoon fed him all along these years while she was married to him, he is now taking her for granted.

Awazar has fallen so much in love with Haya that he feels Sofia is nothing but just a ‘ghalti’ between them? Why is it that the victim Sofia has all of a sudden become a villain Sofia? I heard Awazar saying ‘Allah ne mujhe ijazat di hai dusri shadi ki’, which made me think that Awazaar appko Allah ne justice karne k liye bhi kaha hai dono biwiyon k saath! All of a sudden Awazar now wants Sofia to just vanish from his life so he can enjoy his life with a Pakistani wife in Pakistan with his Pakistani mother in his Pakistani home eating Pakistani pakwaan, wearing Pakistani shalwar kameez & Pakistani chappal. So, my point is, when he was SO Pakistani, why did he get married to an Indian in the first place? Just so easily he thinks he can throw Sofia out like a Tea-Bee, so what gave him a right to destroy 4 years of her life?

Maham of Shukk as Ruby of Slowly Slowly, hmmmm, déjà vu anyone? Why’s it that this lady always acts like an agony aunt who is reminding every single girl about how her husband’s falling short of his responsibilities & is taking his wife for granted? I think she really needs to do better. All this while, Sofia came across as a wife who was so over-protective of her husband & to be honest, before his 2nd marriage Awazar never gave her a reason to doubt or question him, so when did Sofia feel a need to share her marital imperfections with her friend, who is now rubbing it all over her face?

Looks like every single character in this drama is either rubbing themselves on others or is living in a fool’s paradise. Awazar hated the idea of pretentious breakfast to make Bee Jaan happy when he was angry at Sofia for speaking to Mustafa, so didn’t he forget that he himself is making Haya pretend to be all happy & carefree in front of his Bumble Bee all this while? Bumble bee hated seeing Sofia buzzing around her Beta Bee, so why wasn’t she worried when he came to USA & didn’t even bother visiting her for 4 good years? I mean this thing is beyond my understanding that Bumble Bee hated seeing a colleague getting candid with Awazar, why didn’t she question him before about who he was working with & who he was friends with? Don’t tell me that Bumble bee thought her Beta Bee had no linkups with any girls in Amreeka?

Nothing in this drama is making sense. Haya; who in the first 5 seconds of the episode came across as someone who knew how to stand up for herself later became someone who was ready to lead a life on someone else’s tukray? She is now waiting for an approval of Sofia so that she can continue living in a zinc-clad jannat of hers with her thakkela Awazar? I mean PHULEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!

Aahista Aahista – Episode 10!

Oh God! Trust me it’s a task to review this play which practically has nothing to offer apart from some whitered & sleep deprived faces.

Finally Bumble Bee has arrived to USA & she has started sniffing some cold war between Beta Bee & Bahu Bee. I thought she was there to visit her kids but seems like she went to USA to take beauty sleeps because all I saw her doing in this episode was sleeping & roaming around in her night gowns but then that’s justified, considering the load-shedding that happens in a city like Karachi, she mustn’t be getting proper sleeps, so she must’ve thought ‘abb sab neendain Amreeka ja ke hi puri karoongi’.

Awazar once again threatened Haya to pose all calm & happy in front of his Bumble Bee. I mean give me a break, if he is so fixated to his mother & is really worried about her happiness, why doesn’t he just chuck her in his lap & baby sit her all along? Why does he depend on others to tend to his responsibility; i-e his mother, which actually is becoming more like a liability on others? Does he really think that Haya can manage to smile & look happy & fresh given the ordeal he has put her up with? That’s a shame.

I managed to pick up another line from the OST which was like ‘Kareeb Reh Ke Bhi Duur Hai Wo, Ye Duuri Mera Kaleja Cheeray’. Haye Haye! Yes! These are the actual lines from the OST. ENOUGH SAID.

It seemed that our business tycoon Awazaar borrowed a sleeping suit of his younger brother who happens to be a size smaller to him because he looked like a stuffed pillow in that white shirt & checkered pj, or else he might be busy making money to buy two mansions that’s why he forgot to fetch a right size for himself, hence the stuffed pillow look, but I am glad he went for it because it gave me a good laugh. I mean seriously? Adnan Siddique needs a break because he seems to be making some really bad choices.

Finally now when Bari Biwi’s gone, Awazar got some guts to concentrate more on his Baby Biwi & that included lending her a jacket, giving her a panadol, making a breakfast for her, ignoring Sofia’s calls & also passing those tired sleepy smiles to Haya (euuu). What a spineless chicken Awazar is I must say. Now that he knows Sofia ain’t there to distract him, he feels Haya is his wife & that’s a reality. He seemed like those chummy uncles any young girl would run away from but sadly Haya jumped into this deep pit all by herself with her eyes wide open, so she has to put up with the chumminess. What’s funny is that to add more to the chumminess, she found a chummy-chap; Mustafa who was practically shopping with a children’s cart in a shopping mall.

Seems like Awazar will become a gugu in the next episode & throw some tantrum like ‘jaow mai tum shay baat ni kalta, mai katti hoon’ because he just started slipping in love with Haya but he now saw a competition in young & vibrant Mustafa. Even though Mustafa’s Pakistani Bwoy-ness is acceptable, what I really don’t get is that how can he fall for such a girl who practically is capable of pulling only 1 expression on her face? I guess to find that out, we’ll have to follow the rest of the drama. :/ Share your thoughts on this masterpiece, please!

Aahista Aahista – Episode 09!

Slowly slowly, slowly slowly is becoming so slow that it’s not even funny. I feel slowly slowly my wits are going with this play & I can’t seem to derive any fun out of it.

I have an immense respect for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan but sorry to say the repetitive OST in his high-pitched voice irritates me like anything. They could’ve gone for a normal music or something but to listen to the tone of RFAK, on the loop throughout the episode is very unpleasant. For the first time today I paid attention to the lyrics which were like ‘Ye Ishq Bacha, Ye Ishq Mamta’ which I believe should’ve been continued as ‘Ye Ishq Hai Do Do Biwiyon Ka’ & I also recall the lyrics have something related to ‘Jala Rahi Hai’, which might be referring to ‘Aik Biwi Dusri Ko Jala Rahi Hai’. I remember there was a time when Hum TV’s OST had a class & a charm too but seems like just as they believe having a huge star cast will sell a mediocre story, this is what they’re doing with the soundtracks where they believe they can make any renowned singer sing such meaningless lyrics & it will become a good OST.

I really have an issue with how Awazaar keeps on reminding Haya of how much she loves his mother. I mean, every single time she says ‘Meinne Pakistan Janawww Haiiii’ & he goes like ‘Tum Meli Mummy Shay Kitnawwww Pyaal Kalti Ho, Tow Mat Jaowww, Wo Mal Jayegi’. I mean is there something more to their relation? She cries, she wants to back out; Awazaar feeds her food & cancels her flight. I feel it’s about time that Awazaar should stop using the Mother Love Card because he ain’t selling it. If he was so worried about her & had actually loved her, he wouldn’t have forgotten about her preference of  her ikloti bahu. Haya has also confessed in front of Awazaar that she wouldn’t have gotten married to anyone else IF Awazaar had rejected her, giving him a hint of how much she loves him, which made me cringe because she never really met or knew him, but just because she was brain-fed or rather stung by Bumble Bee about his Beta Bee, this Baby Bee idealized him as a perfect potential spouse of hers, hence, the utawlapan of getting married to Uncle Bee while having no standards whatsoever.

Finally, Sofia recovered from her injury & seems like her venomous tongue got filled with some fresh venom too, therefore she kept on hissing in a wait of stinging someone in every chance she got. Sorry to say but the lady who really looked like a nice wife is coming across as a pain. Obviously they have to establish the grounds for why & how Awazaar got close to Baby Biwi, that’s why Bari Biwi is now losing her mind & what not.

Slowly Slowly has given us nothing to like & may be because of that reason, the cheesiness of Mustafa’s (Shehroz Sabzwari) character didn’t seem bad at all. He used all those cheap pickup lines that any random Pakistani Bwoy would use just in order to start a conversation with you, but trust me, even that seemed acceptable.

Finally, Na Maloom Afraad (Shireen Aunty, Safeer Uncle) gave an idea to Bumble Bee to go to USA making sure they mentioned that she had a visa & wasn’t an illegal traveller, which made me think once again as to how & why did she have a visa because Awazaar never intended to have her visit him because of the fear of getting busted, so what was the American Visa doing in her passport? Resting in peace? Anyways, seems like no one in this drama is capable of making a decision for themselves & that is why we see them exchanging ideas with each other as to what the other person should do, or more like how we say, people in this drama have a lot of ‘muft mashwaray’ to give to other characters. If we look back, no one has ever made a decision by themselves in this drama. LOL!

Anyways, Awazaar has averted the crisis because Sofia has left; he got a new place for Haya & now Bumble Bee’s on her way to Amreeekaaaa. Let’s see how slowly slowly progresses slowly slowly. Share your thoughts on this; slowly slowly, please.

Aahista Aahista – Episode 08!

0

Can someone please call 911 & tell that they have seen a psycho lady who yells & breaks things whenever she throws a hissy fit? Can someone also tell them that they’ve spotted a man who’s spineless & isn’t blessed with brains whatsoever? Having said that, this episode was at least a tad bit tolerable because seems like the story is moving forward but still there’s some roothna aur manana left to deal with.

Awazaar’s expressions changed when he saw that his Pakistani Paratha was slipping away & was about to be replaced with Indian Idli on his breakfast table. Haya has certainly made some place in his heart because she has an upper hand in Pakistani cuisine in comparison to Sofia. Awazaar has understood that he can’t live without both these women (yukh) & now agrees that he has wronged every single woman that has ever trusted him.

The na-maloon fard i-e Shireen Apa got some coverage in this episode too where once again she tried to show her unwanted & unnecessary concern for this family. I wish someone tells me how’s this lady related to them? Once again Shireen Apa told us how does she fit the bill of being a distant/immediate relative because whenever she speaks, she pushes all the wrong buttons. Once again Awazaar who has no brains of his own ate the food of thought that Shireen Apa gave to him to make him realize that he can’t be without Haya’s Pakistani Pakwaan.

The only part that I enjoyed watching in this episode was Nousherwaan Uncle & his conversation with Haya. At least it’s good to see someone else in this otherwise boring drama. It was good to see that Haya tried to open up in front of him & his wife & now she has someone she can speak to in future because the place where she resides is so dense & gloomy that it makes one suffocated.

I think this Goa trip makes no sense because a person like Sofia who is so dominating & insecure is now ready to leave her husband behind? Obviously as seen in the preview of the next episode, she is going to make sure that Haya leaves her place but still, how can she leave Awazaar behind? She seems like one of those people who would even pack her husband in a suitcase & tag him along her because she is so insecure. I wish they had tried their hands on showing the frustration of the already frustrated Sofia in a better way rather than crushing innocent things like spoons & expensive vases. I mean was so much negativity really necessary?

Pretty average episode but I think next episode would be interesting to see because Awazaar will look like a headless chicken running to make sure Bumble Bee doesn’t find out about his first love Sofia. Is it just me or Sarwat Gillani looks like she is going for a horseback riding every single time she dresses up with those long boots? They put in a lot of efforts in the production so I wish they had selected some more wardrobe options for Sofia as she has repeated so many clothes that it looks like they ran out of budget that’s why she had to stick to very limited dressing options. Aahista Aahista – Episode 06!

Tauba Tauba! Usually I always have a note to begin my review with but this time around I am speechless & have nothing else to say except TAUBA!!!!!!

This episode was such a mood spoiler in all different ways. The typical Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s high-pitch being echoed in the background repeatedly, Sofia’s shrilly shrieks & then Haya’s debut as a housemaid of the sleep deprived Zawaar, this is what the whole episode was all about. Once again they succeeded in failing miserably by not being able to make us feel anything about any of the characters. All I can deduce till now is that Sofia’s a vamp & an irritating one at that too, Zawaar’s a wuss, Haya is the satti savitri dream-wife of every Pakistani residing outside Pakistan because of the cooking & cleaning skill she has & Bee Jaan has got nothing to do, that’s it.

Yes, they did show that Zawaar felt good seeing Haya’s religious side so I am sorry to say if he was so deeply rooted & in touch with his eastern side, why did he get married to Sofia; a non-Muslim in the very first place? They have no grounds whatsoever to establish a fact that Zawaar can get swayed by a teenager so now they’re trying to show that just because Haya’s a Muslim home-maker, she’s definitely going to win Zawaar over.

Javed Sheikh’s entry was something unexpected but I hope he has a good role to play, to at least make us feel good about Pakistani men because the one we’re seeing getting pampered (literally & I can name the brand too) is just a loser. Throughout the episode, I was actually agitated to see Sarwat Gillani playing a role of an insecure negative person who has 1 high-neck shirt & 1 pair of pajamas (considering the huge mansion she lives in) because it’s like she is wasting her time & talent. It is upsetting to see such a brilliant actor playing such a weak role because she clearly looks uncomfortable. Apparently Sofia did try to voice her fears of not losing her demented trophy, oh I mean Zawaar because she’s had a tough life but sorry that message didn’t come across as clearly as it should’ve been because my ears were deafened due to her yells & screams.

I am happy that they showed the wholeeee next episode in the preview because seems like I can still review the episode without actually watching it. I think I’ll have to mute the TV because Sofia’s throat’s seems to be working fine. I hope that she had suffered from a loss of voice too because that would’ve been awesome, at least for us. Share your thoughts on this (sowwie) absurd episode.

Aahista Aahista – Episode 05!

You know what’s the best thing about watching a drama online? Yes, you can forward it as much as you want to. An episode that was meant to be technically 38 minutes long had nothing but 20 minutes of crying & useless close ups.

While watching this drama I was reminded of the character of Aunn from Aunn Zara, who was ankhon ka tara & ladla of the family to the point where the ladies of house were fixated to him just because he was the only son, only grandson, only nephew but then his character had so much to offer, so many shades to it that everything related to him fell into its place perfectly but then here we are watching how every single lady starting from Bee Jaan, to Shireen Apa, to Sofia, to Haya & to some extent Safeer bhai (a gentleman of course) are fixated to Zawaar…yes, Zawaar? What is his character by the way I mean what has he offered so far except a tired face & a bunch of lies? Why in the world is everyone so obsessed with him?

As usual Zawaar at first felt bad for leaving Haya behind but then he blamed her for not informing him so he was like ‘jaow mai nai bolta tum shay, mai katti hoon’. Finally, after a good night’s sleep his conscience woke up too & he was seen explaining things to Haya but just one dialogue gave me a reason to despise him more & that was ‘wapis jana hai to chali jao but soch lo Bee Jaan ka kya hoga’. Why in the world does he expect everyone else to pay the price on his behalf that too just because they’re in some way related to him? IF he was a man enough – IF; he would’ve handled things properly without getting into such a mess where no one else had to fend for his mistakes. Now just because Haya is supposed to take care of HIS Honey Bee, she can’t open her mouth.

Surprise Surprise, this actually came as a surprise to me that Sofia has a job too. Finally, she isn’t as unproductive as she seems but still she is someone who celebrates 1st meeting anniversary, 1st phone call anniversary, 1st letter anniversary, 1st smile anniversary, 1st fight aniversary etc etc etc etc 1st etc etc etc. Yes, she is actually quite very faarigh even after she has a job. Sofia claims to have fallen in love with him in the very first meeting but I couldn’t really get that because she also claimed to be very practical, so I am wondering how did she fall for such a guy who was so tired that he could barely keep his eyes open? As far as I know yawning is contagious so wasn’t Sofia yawning by being in a company of such a sleepy fellow? While watching all their scenes together I was wondering which wife especially someone like Sofia who is in an awe of her Zoey speaks so painfully formally to her husband? & they say it’s LOVE, what a joke.

Not only Sofia is clingy but she is so thick headed that just when Zawaar announced the name of the uninvited guest Haya, she couldn’t connect the dots & figure it out that Haya was no one else but Zawaar’s cousin? She has been married to Zawaar for ages & she has always spoken to him about his family so how’s it possible that she never once saw a family picture of Zawaar, just to know how his family’s like? Very easily, tiredly & sleepily Zawaar spun one lie after the other in front of Sofia, why? Because like I said the guy has a chicken’s spine. He thinks, he actually thinks he can fool his wife who is so suffocating to be around? Will have to find out how the chicken’s cut into pieces by the two butchers I mean two wives. But yes, nothing, absolutely nothing about any of the characters is interesting.

Aahista Aahista – Episode 04!

I know Adnan Siddique might think that I am jealous of him because I am going to be honest about him in this review, but trust me Adnan buddy that’s not the case. I actually can’t thank him enough for giving us a lot of reasons to dislike his character of Zawaar. If you want to see wuss-ness at its best, Adnan Siddique has done the honours in this show for you.

The drama makers might’ve thought that they were successful in conveying the misery of a two-timer but sorry they themselves failed miserably as well. All we could see in this episode was how Zawaar was juggling & struggling to maintain a balance in his two marital lives & to reach the level of annoyance, his love & kaseedas related to Bee Jaan. Zawaar is someone who can’t utter a single word where he is supposed to but would give a hard time to those who are younger probably way too younger to him.

While looking at Haya’s utawla-pan, I couldn’t help but imagine that an 18-5 year old had no plans for future, no dreams, nothing of her own at all? I mean all she wanted was to get married to her uncle-numa cousin & then live the American dream doing the dishes for him all her life? Not that it’s something unusual but she was too young to be so bothered about giving marriage a shot that too where she could’ve taken a stand like she did on the previous rishta saying she couldn’t imagine living away from Bee Jaan, so how come she agreed to go to the USA leaving Bee Jaan a continent apart?

I must say Sarwat Gillani is looking fresh as ever, she looked beautiful & she’s probably the only reason why I watch this show but her character needs to get some sort of a sunshine if not life as well. All these ‘tum mile mujhe zindagi mili’, ‘hamain tumse pyaar kitna, ye hum nahi jaante’ , ‘saans mai teri saans mili to mujhe saans ai’ sound too filmy to be true. I mean every couple says these words to each other but it comes naturally which they have failed to portray through this couple & still I can’t sense any chemistry between them whatsoever. I think they have told us plenty of times that Sofia can’t live without her husband & loves him to bits but the constant reminder deserves to be put on a snooze for some time now.

The epic moment of the whole episode for me was when Shireen Apa was told to snap out of her fixation to Zawaar. It was actually Haya’s business as to what she spoke to Zawaar about but Shireen Apa thought she could act all friendly & ask Haya about the details she discussed with her husband acting like those annoying relatives once again. I don’t know why but I think every character in this play needs a life, I really feel that actually.

Zawaar’s life got complete when his baby wife (Haya) came to America. Very stealthily he arranged a place for her & still couldn’t muster up courage to tell his young wife (Sofia) about her baby sautan. I think the next episode will have some action where young wife will face the baby wife & uncle husband will sneak out too terrified & too coward to face the consequences. Let’s see what happens.

ps: I request all the readers that if you happen to grab some spoiler alerts, please keep them to yourself & do not spoil the show for those who are watching out of sheer curiosity. That would be much appreciated. Lately people are finding it hard to keep the details to themselves & are spoiling the suspense for others. Please, be a bit more considerate. Thanks!

Aahista Aahista – Episode 03!

Hmmmmmmmm! Did they finally manage to make you guys feel a thing or two for the characters? Nope, it didn’t happen for me this time either. It was a pretty slow episode with some repetitive conversations & nothing much really happened in this one. I hope it doesn’t turn into a yawn-provoker too early.

Zawaar finally got married to Haya & once again he rubbed Bee Jaan & his superficial love for her on Haya’s face too. I think he shouldn’t expect his ladies to take care of his mother on his behalf because he himself has failed miserably in keeping up with her expectations. It seems pretty convenient that he can keep on reminding others about his poor mother but when it comes to him, he doesn’t really bother much. He’s one lucky bloke because now he’s got Haya to take care of his mother & Sofie to take care of him, luck’s working wonders for him already.

Who actually Shireen & Safeer are to Bee Jaan & her family? If Safeer was Bee Jaan’s brother, Zawaar would’ve called him Safeer Mamu or if Shireen was Bee Jaan’s sister, she would’ve been referred to as Shireen Khala but still they are addressed as Safeer Bhai & Shireen Apa, so not really sure how, the lady who is so keen about this family’s happiness is related to them? At first I thought they were living in the same house but all of a sudden it was shown as if Safeer & Shireen have a place of their own where they invited the newlyweds & Bee Jaan for Zawaar’s farewell dinner?

I don’t know why but I feel all those emotions that they tried to show actually never really made an impact whatsoever. Zawaar’s excitement of returning, Haya’s despair of separating with her trophy husband & especially Sofie’s incessant confessions of her mills & boon inspired love for Zawaar, it all actually lacked finesse. I do feel it was pretty obvious that Sarwat Gillani had a hard time delivering those typical dialogues that were lifted from Khawateen Digest. All those mohabbat k dam bharna, lambay bhayanak khuwaab se be-daar hona, saans ka atakna, neend ke na anay se tarap jana…wo bhi kiss ke liye: Zawaar ke liye? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

I think the hype is definitely or in fact has definitely subsided because apart from the scenic views & locations of USA, the story has nothing to offer. While looking at Haya making tea for Zawaar & tending to his headache, I felt she could’ve gotten someone else, someone so better but just because our Zawaar happens to have a chicken’s spine; he ended up spoiling her life. She definitely deserved someone better but sadly, it wasn’t meant to be.

A pretty average episode with some unrealistic reactions. Share what you felt about this episode & how much did they disappoint you?

Aahista Aahista – Episode 02!

Hmmmm, did you guys feel a thing for any of the characters? Nope, me neither. Apart from the crisp quality, vibrant colours & the artistic camerawork, this play hasn’t offered anything as yet. I am still waiting to be wowed but not sure if it’s going to happen in the near future or so.

I don’t know why but I felt all the characters except Bee Jaan’s seemed too forced to be true. As much as Hina Bayat looks timelessly beautiful, I feel her character of Shireen is like one of those relative aunties who we all dread interacting with. Her concern (read fixation) with Zawaar was kind of unusual. Bee Jaan being his bio-mom was laid-back & relaxed when it came to Zawaar but Shireen Apa’s unnecessary brow furrowing was uncalled for. It was like she got the most awaited opportunity of bashing Zawaar left right & centre, so she was making the most of it. I kind of lol’ed when Shireen Apa held Zawaar irresponsible. I am sure his sense of responsibility could be measured by the number of bank drafts he must be sending from USA. I found the character of Bee Jaan a lot better. It’s like Saba Hameed has been able to convey the feelings of a mother who is worried about her only son & has high hopes of him, perfectly.

I want to congratulate all the viewers because we have another weak man, who has made it to our screen successfully. I feel Zawaar is a depiction of those weak mama’s boys who just can’t take a stand for the choices they make. I mean it took him only a single flight back-home & a couple of tears from his mother to forget he has someone waiting for him & that someone is no one else but his lawfully wedded wife. I think people like Zawaar should never really go for love marriages because it takes a spine to stand by the side of your love. Very easily he submitted to Bee Jaan’s wish of getting married to a girl half his age & I really couldn’t feel a thing for him even after seeing him frown.

Does anyone get the nature of Haya’s character so far!?!?! All I know about her is that she shrugs her shoulders, cries as if she’s neighing & yes when she is in a happy mood, she plays games with the kids of her mohalla. Her scene in this episode once again began with her whinny face & it was enough to put me off. I actually hope that before the drama-makers start showing the emotions that the characters are going through, they should actually take some time out & establish the characters & their natures so that we can understand what they might do if they face a certain situation. Just so, I feel this drama started just like that; where we only can understand the characters based on the dialogues they deliver & there’s nothing more to it, no depth, no insight whatsoever.

Yes, I did feel that Sarwat Gillani has conveyed her feelings beautifully. She was frustrated, she was agitated, she was helpless & all she could do was scream at her husband who was too busy washing his hands to chuck on some mehandi on his hair & hands for his new marital adventure. I didn’t understand why Zawaar told Sofie to be a bit more understanding. It’s like he knew she was his wife & she wasn’t going anywhere so he could take her for granted. Zawaar’s demand of her being considerate was wrong because he is the one who has gotten married to her without even thinking for a second about his mother, so how can he expect his wife to feel for Bee Jaan? Zawaar’s outburst on Sofie for being too inconsiderate was wrong. If there was one person he should’ve been angry at, it was he, himself. He should’ve been disappointed at himself for not being a man enough to protect his love, his wife in front of his just fine & healthy mother & also for being a devious son.

It was just an ohkay episode & going by the conversation all the viewers had in the last review, I couldn’t help noticing the sagging eye bags of Adnan Siddique which actually told me the tale of his age. I feel someone’s in a dire need of either a botox or a filler. I must say whoever is responsible for Mawra’s styling has done a petty job. Those leggings & short shirts do not do justice to her physique & she looked like the famous Olive (Popeye The Sailor Man’s Girlfriend). Her styling might change in the next episode & looking at the preview I think she does look amazing. Share what you felt about tonight’s episode.

First of all, Congratulations to the survivors of the apocalypse named Aahista Aahista. From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate all the viewers who survived through this torture that ended today after 18 weeks. I congratulate every single person who watched this play just to extend a shoulder for others to cry on. I must say, I salute you all because without you beautiful people out there, this wouldn’t have been possible. Congratulations once again to all the viewers & from the bottom of my heart, commiserations to the writer for giving out the Biggest HIT of the year 2014. *coughing sarcasm*

Ohkay so, the epic fail & flop of the season Aahista Aahista actually ended Aahista Aahista where it was hard for me to just sit through the last minutes of this play because I really felt I couldn’t take it anymore but I sat through it for the sake of my awesome readers. The drama has ended & we all saw the note at which it did. So, any surprises there? I know, ZERO!

The guy, who practically had no scenes in the entire drama, covered the whole last episode just to show how ‘important’ he was. Mustafa never really made an appearance in between the drama & rather seemed pretty satisfied by being that random chummy Pakistani bwoy who tries to start a conversation with you for no good reason, but by the end where it was pretty clear that Haya met him just a couple of times that too at Nousherwan uncle’s place so just like that he ended up being someone who was ears to Haya’s problems. She seemed pretty reserved & awkward in front of him but when did it happen that she ended up sharing all her secrets with him? It just doesn’t make any sense, but then, why are we trying to fish for some ‘sense’ in this otherwise senseless drama? Eh!

AA2

I thought the nagging nagin Sofia was over Awazaar as she filed for divorce herself but seems like the writer didn’t want to give the moment of glory to any female viewer by making one single female character stronger to stand up for the right, that’s why she still made Sofia look weak & helplessly in love with Awazaar even after he chucked her out of his life like a tissue with his booger (nasal mucus) on it? She still felt she could fix her hair & that will make Awazaar draw his attention towards her? I mean seriously?

Oh & yes, how can we forget the BEST character ever seen in the history of Pakistani television; Mr. Awazaar, who himself had no energy left by the end of this drama & that’s why he looked bored, indifferent, irritated, lethargic, depressed, forlorn & to sum it all up – AWAZAAR. But like I said, I really feel writer was in love with the fictional character that she created in her imagination, that’s why like a concerned mommy she made sure that he wasn’t left alone & before the drama ended, she wanted to have a sense of joy by making sure she arranged a lifelong paratha supplier for Awazaar in the form of Haya.

AA1

I don’t understand, if Haya had to run back to a spineless man while herself missing a backbone & a necessary thing called brain, then why did she end up dragging the episode with her continuous caterwauling of how much she hated Awazaar, how much she detested him, how he wronged her & how she was NEVER going to forgive him?

AA3

Finally, I still stand by my stand that the writer has no skills whatsoever where she forgot to create some characters & the story but what disappoints me the most is that the sane (?) producers of Hum TV threw in such big budget for such a pathetic drama? What message was the writer trying to give out through this story that no matter who Pakistani man’d marry, he’ll only be loyal to jawaan, gori, lambi, maasi? I mean please, give me a break. The writer should really relax & think about what she was trying to convey & what disaster was churned as a result. I seriously advice the writer to take a trip to America herself, sit by the Golden Gate Bridge & think about some fresh ideas Aahista Aahista.

A big fat thank you to all the ah-mazing readers who supported me through thick & thin while watching this mind-boggling, oxygen-sucking, breath-vacuuming, blood-boiling drama; Slowly Slowly!

Cheers,

Aagha Ali’s Remarks About Sanam Chauhdry’s Overdone Makeup

Aagha Ali and Hina Altaf are currently hosting a show by the name of “The Couple Show”. As it is obvious from the name that couples are invited to the show, there is a small chit-chat session and multiple games as well. Recently, the dynamic duo Shazia Wajahat and Wajahat Rauf were invited to the show.

Aagha Ali's Remarks About Sanam Chauhdry's Overdone Makeup

In one of the segments when both guest and host ask questions from each other, Wajahat Rauf asked Aagha Ali: “Who is that one actress who is unrecognizable without makeup?”

Shazia Wajahat came in to help Aagha and gave him guesses that she has left the industry and is married and has a son too. Also, she has accepted this fact herself and Aagha has worked with her too. Aagha then finally named the actress and said: “Yes it’s true there is a huge difference, it’s Sanam Chauhdry. Sanam is a really good friend of mine, please don’t mind Sanam but it’s true. She is way too different in real life”
