Actor Asad Malik got arrested on Monday at Allama Iqbal International Airport when he was carrying an automatic gun with an expired license. The actor was travelling from Lahore to Karachi when the gun was found in his luggage. He was then detained by the ASF and taken into custody.
The actor has now been granted bail against the surety bonds of 50000 rupees. He was taken to the court in Katcheri Cantt. where he was granted bail. The morning shows of various channels cover a variety of subjects and one of the popular subject is the shaadi (wedding). As far my limited knowledge this trend was first started by Dr. Shaista Lodhi when she hosted the morning show of ARY Digital some six seven years ago.
But whoever started this trend it turned out to be so successful that nearly all the morning shows hosts (apart from few exceptions like Nadia Khan, Farah Saadia, Juggan Kazim) also have to follow it for the sake of high TRP.
Following the same trend in a new way (old wine in a new bottle) now two channels are collaborating to celebrate what claimed as the biggest wedding of the Pakistan. These channels are ARY Zindagi and ARY Digital. ARY Zindag’s morning show Salam Zindagi‘s team and host Faisal Qureshi will be larke wale (لڑکے والے) while ARY Digital morning show Good Morning Pakistan’s team and host Nida Yasir will be larki wale (لڑکی والے). This whole wedding will be a live telecast starting from 2nd May 2016 at 9 AM SHARP on both the channels ARY Zindagi and ARY Digital. It will be interesting to see that who are the bride and groom for this wedding.

With 14th August just around the corner, ARY decided to get creative and initiated a campaign, “Shukria Pakistan” , encouraging Pakistanis to thank their homeland for everything it has given them. The campaign encourages people to step up and do something to show their love for Pakistan.

ARY media house is adding another channel ARY Zindagi in their family. This new channel will be an entertainment channel consisting of foreign and local entertainment programs. The official facebook page of the channel has listed a variety of indian, turkish and pakistani programs. On the whole Indian programs are in majority consisting of dramas, laughter challenge and variety shows.
The channel seems to be similar to Geo Kahani and HUM Sitaray, launched by Geo group and HUM group respectively the other two big media groups. Both Geo Kahani and HUM Sitaray telecast entertainment programs of Turkey, India and Pakistan and ARY Zindagi is expected to run on the same lines. It is also unclear whether ARY will launch a new channel or convert its existing cooking/entertainment channel ARY Zauq into ARY Zindagi.
Ary Digital is one of the most established and well known channels of Pakistani industry and had two successful dramas to it’s credit this year. Ary recently launched an online portal for people to vote for their favorite characters of 2016. Ary’s recent approach was the best way for fans to choose their favorite stars/characters and actors on the other hand, had a chance to know what their fans feel about them. Thousands of people voted online and the wait is over because the results are already up.
ARY Digital Network represents one of the top three entertainment networks of Pakistan. Their entertainment channel started in the early 2000s and it grew into one of the most successful channels of Pakistan. The network is all set to make a new decision about their drama streaming and it has started a controversy among fans.
Currently, some of the biggest dramas of the season are airing on ARY Digital. Dar e Nijaat and Bas Tera Saath Ho have a viewership of millions while many other big budget shows are all set to air in the coming months. But ARY will not allow its viewers to watch their dramas on YouTube anymore.
ARY dramas will be streaming officially only on ARY Plus app. The app does not have a subscription fee currently and fans will be able to watch their favourite dramas only on the app from 17th September 2026.
This decision of stopping YouTube streaming of their dramas has brought ARY under fire and fans are not at all happy about it. One person wrote, “This is such a bad move.” Another added, “ARY had millions of views but it looks like they did not like the millions they were earning through it.” One went, “We will stop watching these dramas. It came as a surprise to everyone when ARY CEO announced that he had taken over BOL Network. He also announced that the channel will start broadcasting in three weeks. While giving the reason for this takeover Salman Iqbal said, “The driving force behind this decision was our mission to try and ease the difficulties faced by media persons.” ARY had also offered jobs to those journalists who had gone out of jobs after BOL Network failed to start its transmission.
Salman Iqbal also said, “I have created Pakistan’s largest TV channel – so I thought why not take that dream to BOL.”

Afghanistan is not the ideal place for any news reporter to cover because there are too many complications there. ARY news reporter Faizullah Khan was sentenced to four years imprisonment in April because according to authorities he entered Afghanistan without proper documentation. Sources revealed that the reporter had also been accused of espionage but the court dropped those charges and instead found him guilty of illegal entry to Afghanistan. The sources reveal that the embassy was following the case and would provide legal assistance to Khan to secure his freedom. “The ambassador has met cabinet members from Nangarhar … we are positive we can secure his release,” he added.
Akbar Achakzai who is an Afghan journalist, said Faizullah Khan had entered Nangarhar province to interview senior members of the Taliban, and was detained by police a few hours after his arrival.
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) have condemned the detention of Faizullah Khan and have asked governments of both the countries to ensure that he returns home safely.
